I am having issues finding professional pros around Ghana.

No offense but majority of the ones I have found have turned out to be Nigerians charging 100 cedis for a simple BJ.

In Kumasi, you should find yourself around the popular Plaza Hotel! Even a blind man, can smell the array of girls and lead you there. You may encounter prices in the range of 10 to 15 Ghana Cedis for a"short time". Place is dead by midnight, weekends inclusive. You will get heavy discounts when it is past 11 pm and people start to depart! Unfortunately, the very pretty ones would all have been taken away by that time. It should not be a surprise if you find your way to the Ahojo round about through the street that links up to the Rattray park, and you some faces you met at Plaza dressed up in different clothes. Of, course they are there to work from midnight till early morning. Prices here are higher and one could pick up grade A pros for between 100 and 300 Ghana Cedis per night. It is a cocktail of students working part time as pros, some others are apprentices at beauty parlors and so much more.

100 Ghana Cedis for just a BJ is a total rip off! Most pros will settle for sex straight away! Extra services must be negotiated. Making yourself a loyal customer can earn you free anal, BJ's and more. The Nigerians are more active in drawing your attention, so that may account for why you have been meeting many Nigerians. It is often smarter to grab a drink, and pace down the lane as you sip. This will give you a more pleasant avenue to carefully assess as many pros before making your choice.

Be quick to decide and not to be moving from one to another! These girls may just all agree not to mind you if you hop from one to the next. The general assertion will be that you are not offering a good deal or you want to make fun of them.

When you get your choice, just get along to agree on the price. They may have guest houses of their choice for which they factor the cost in their charge. Get to know clearly which is which? BTW. Been visiting the Shisha Lounge next to the Niagara Plus Hotel just south of Oxford on Adjoate (around the corner from the Roots hotel & Apartment). It opens at 11 am but is more of a night place, starting after 9:30 or so. Some very good looking talent there, mostly near the bar. Good place to enjoy the cigar.

Accra, a new friend and this thing of ours.

Long flight back to JFK, figured I'd give all the guys who've offered helpful posts in the past a best-as-I-can review of my last 6 days in Accra. If in addition to providing what I hope to be relevant info, a couple readers have a good laugh, all the better.

So here goes; some experiences and lessons on my mongering in Accra.

Some quick background: I'm a white guy, late's 40's, married (fairly happily, but to a women wholly uninterested in sex). I'm a professional in New York, about 6'4 which is relevant only bc people said "wow you tall" 5 times a day and I found both men and in particular women to be shorter than I expected / hoped. Given the choice of building my perfect Barbie, I lean toward 5'9-5'11,130-150 lbs, slim with curves and a high, tight round ass, an athletic gazelle. I found few if any of these, but a whole selection of petite very slim girls with high and round asses and as many and more of bigger bootie girls. All of their asses stuck out in the way butt implants could only aspire to. The difference between a 5'4" 150 lb girl in the US and Africa is simple. The US girl is fat, the African girl has a rocking body, even if your tastes might vary from this particular body type. This simple fact is why Africa should be considered a destination for those so inclined. Their faces were cute or not, but far from gorgeous- if you're a body man you'll like it, if you are into fine aesthetically beautiful facial features, most black models come from Eastern Africa or the horn of Africa.

3rd time to Africa, twice to The Gambia; this was my first time to Accra, Ghana.

First off Accra is Africa; the innocence and kindness of the people, the chaos on the streets and marketplace at Makalo Market, the slave castles and forts of West Africa, the poverty and lack of clean water, the terrible roads, and run down taxis, the inefficiency of day to day business activities Westerners take for granted.

The growing wealth of Ghana. Oil discovered offshore. Is evident (as opposed to The Gambia which is among the 10 poorest countries in the work by per capital GDP, nothing works and everyone except ex-pats are nearly to totally destitute). But as it always is, that wealth in inequitably distributed. Ghana is still among the poorest 30 countries in the world. We went to the Accra mall, and I was shocked at the number of high end shops, but they obviously weren't catering to most.

I met 7-8 girls over the course of my 5 active days, slept with 3 or 4 and found the most success with girls I just picked up in bars rather that pipelined for 4+ weeks ahead of time. Ok, I was fired up about this trip and was talking to a couple dozen girls over the last couple of months. Yeah, I should probably get a life, LOL.

Let's be clear: these girls are poor and it is about the money. I paid each of them, slipped cash in the purse on the way out and never discussed money ahead of time. From what I've read, if you go the pro-route, do the total opposite, negotiate all ahead of time. But by and large I felt zero pressure for money from them as long as I mentioned I was a nice generous man early on; in some cases I didn't even go there bc they gave no impression they were even asking for money. No girl ever asked how generous. But don't be an asshole fellas, give them money regardless. At a 4:1 exchange rate I gave between 110 cedis to 150 cedis. But if they didn't fuck me, they got nothing.

There was one request for school fees; I met her and her GF as they were leaving an empty club, chased them down in the parking lot, called my buddy and the four of us hit the Shi Sha lounge in Osu. This is no major accomplishment. Hey girls, you are cute, where are you going? They say, why don't you come with us? Great, let my call my buddy and off it went. Half an hour later we are both smooching with the girls whose names I've since forgotten. LOL.

A few hours later, back in my room, and with a few tequila shots in her, the girl literally pulled my dick out of her mouth, told me her tuition was US $200 and as I started to explain that this was a lot of money she wasn't getting from me, argued with me while continuing to blow me. "I didn't ask you for any money", slurp slurp, "I'm not a prostitute", nice tongue swirl around my little head. Deep throat, "I didn't ask you for anything did I?

I made vague promises about being generous, banged her with a condom and can't remember if she spent the night, LOL. She called me repeatedly over the next few days, but I didn't see her again. The trip's best head though. Interruptions or otherwise 😄.

These semi pros or non pros largely seemed happy to be in our company- and accepted what they were given without even looking at it. Cute story in my book and intended to illustrate school fee BJ girl was far and away the most aggressive of the girls I was with.

I stupidly brought someone along.

What I hope to be a longtime friend and future wingman, I just met on this board. I had posted I was coming to Accra for the first time and looking to hang with a wingman. As you'll hear shortly, I really put my new buddy out, but he came through big time. Our similarities and differences will hopefully offer some insight into the good, the bad, the disappointing and the fascinating.

Hopefully I'm not losing too many readers but for those of you still with me, let's keep the story rolling.

On our first night, my new buddy and I went to the mall and compared notes on our pre- arrival pipelining activities (Badoo, Hi5, afrointroductions) and we each got a girl to show up to say Hello,. I could have suggested I wanted to be friends and have fun, that I had never been to Ghana before, that I would generous with a lot of taxi money, but fair is fair and I already bought her drinks etc (most I didn't of course, they just showed up when invited).

In hindsight I should have been more clear about what I want. I won't go to Jokers and pick up a high priced hardcore hooker, but I will pipeline only a week or two ahead of time, be clear that I'm an American and am here to have fun and not looking for anything long term. Using Tinder provided the best experience because you can see how far away someone is from you and it's clearly a hook up site.

I met a really sexy Nigerian girl thru Tinder and she came out within 90 minutes of my deciding she was worth a first hand look. She left early, only drank a fruit juice, but texted me the next day, came over and fucked me raw.

I almost made it back to my hotel room without incident, but ended up blacking out and collapsing on top of a housekeeping cart steps from my room. Scratched my shoulder on the way down to hitting my head hard on the floor. Not sure how long I was out for, or if CTE is in my future, but the shoulder is bruised like a mother fucker. Be careful of what you eat fellas and be prepared with Cipro ahead of time.

And this wasn't even the last I unintentionally screwed him. Just last night, he hooked up with the GF of SFBJG (school fee blow job girl) and we went out. I didn't even have the heart to call My buddy I'll make it up to him, but a man doesn't blow up another man's bathroom and bedroom. That just ain't right, and I did both.

I don't know that Accra is perfect by any means, but with the experience I had, if I decide to go back I know how I'd make my next trip better.

It's definitely not point and shoot though, more hunt and work it, just with a much higher success rate than one would find at home.

How do you find reliable taxi drivers? When I say reliable, I am thinking about:

A) Asking him to search a girl for me.

B) Asking him to take me to the club. If I get a prostitute, asking him to pick both of us.

Just a quick report on my first trip to Ghana. Ups and downs.

2 layovers and a total 20 hours travel time originating from the US east coast, I had finally arrived in Kotoka Airport in Accra. A very small airport with a little restaurant I found downstairs inside the airport that I milked drinks in while I waited few hours for check-in to start for my late night return flight.

I track down my bag, run through customs and head to the currency exchange booth. I exchange $1000 US right at 4 cedi to 1 dollar. Next I look for the free WiFi to summon an Uber car. (Yes uber in Accra. No need to spend my fun cash, and extremey low pricing for taxi service.) No free airport wifi! So on to plan be, a taxi from the airport. I March past all the OFFICIAL taxis at the entrance as if I already had a ride because no matter where I travel in the world they typically charge the most. I get down to the street and flag taxi after taxi for the fair price of 15 cedi to Osu. Each started with 40 cedi and would go no lower than 30.5 or 6 taxis later I said screw it and paid the 30 cedi. Shit 15 cedi extra is $3 and change in the US. I'm not going to let $3 ruin my arrival.

I set up my stay at the Lake Bosumtwi Hotel / Apartments across the street from Ako Adjei park in Osu. A five min walk to Oxford St. With close access to most of the happenings. It was a quick 20 min taxi ride from the airport while the driver and I had laughs as he pointed out and honked at the waving on duty pros on many of the street corners.

I arrive and begin check in. The hotels credit card machine does not accept my credit card as Credit but keeps demanding a card PIN which I do not know or ever used. It's almost 10 pm, I whip out my magic jack and call my credit card provider for help. The bank tells the hotel manager I have more than enough funds and no charge has been attempted from their hotel per their records. Nothing else they can do. I tell the hotel front desk to call their card reader merchant provider and ask for an alternate form to receive pay. They call, and the merchant will be their by 12 pm next day. The manager who has been very accommodating shows me to my room (without me paying) and says please do not worry we will sort it out tomorrow but tonight sleep well. She gives me an upgraded room for the night. Very nice accomadations much a kin to an apartment with separated quarters. I believe it was the $130 US dollar per night room where I paid for the suite which was $100 per night. Just additional info. I normally pay for my hotels online to ensure no issues, unless I get a good cash discount like in Sosua for ex. In this case I found this place on Airbnb which I use often. However when I found that I could not pay in advance on the Airbnb website which is unusual, and no reviews for this person or the hotel were there. I messaged the posting host and she directed me to the hotel website which states you only pay at check in, AND it showed a price of $15 per night less expensive than advertised on Airbnb. I quickly cross check the hotel on TripAdvisor for reviews and found they were all good reports. I contacted them directly and booked my stay ensuring they knew I was paying via my American. Mastercard credit card. I also questioned the hotel manager regarding the price difference and she tells me the online host is a concierge service and the extra charge is what they are paid for their advertising. So FYI guys, if you see the same person showcasing many hotels and apartments online, try to find the place you like website for the real price.

I knock out and the next day the merchant arrives and we download slydepay app on my smartphone. He explains the many payment benefits in Ghana thru Slydepay, I pay online for my room and my start is now official.

I move to my suite which I like more than the upgrade, order breakfast off their menu (No restaurant on the grounds however you can order breakfast, lunch and salads off of their somewhat limited but very reasonably priced menu).

I ask the hotel manager for the fair taxi price for Oxford st. (5 cedi) and the best place to buy a phone, and a store to purchase the essentials. (beer, water, mouthwash, food cooked and uncooked) forgot to mention the suite has an equipped mini kitchen and living area (see it online). She grabs her bag and says come on. She personally walks me up to Oxford st. And escorts me personally to each location while translating their local language. Shoprite is on Oxford st. For your grocery needs, Airtel is across the street from Shoprite. The official phone store is located on the main level and you buy the Sim card and phone plan from a store directly above the phone store. I purchased the least expensive smartphone with 1 plus gig processor and 8 gig ram extendable plus, dual sim at 250 cedi. It was a windows lumina p. O. s (piece of sh! After trying to use it. Ill never venture from android again LOL, except for an iphone. For less than 50 cedi more I could of purchased an android. I know better now. You just need to know which airlines offer flights from Accra to Dakar and go to that particular airport office. Some airlines also have offices around the city but I am not certain what the payment options are at those. I would venture that cash is accepted (Ghana Cedi or USD), but I am not sure. You might want to look up their number before going and call and ask. That would be the best way to go in any event, call and ask what are acceptable forms of payment.

I have not thought about Togo because I used to think that Togolese women bodies are similar to Ghanaian women bodies. Am I right? While trying to prepare for another trip to Ghana some memories are coming back. One of the events occurred in 2010 when I was volunteering in a small town in Central Ghana. I have the option of staying in Taifa with a friend's brother. I will arrive on Thursday and leave on Wed. Would it be worth it to get a hotel for the weekend in the center if I am trying to meet ladies, or should I just stay out in Taifa and find a room if I find something worth going home with? I much prefer non pros if possible. I think my brother's friend should be able to guide me a bit, but I also don't know him enough to know if he will be understanding of my "extra" activities with the ladies.

Any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.

When you say reliable I think you mean people who can deliver. Well my friend if I were you I would strike a deal with an Uber driver.

If they are within radius they can help you move from the club. They are in town 24 hrs a day. Pertaining A it is quite difficult to. My last trip was in 2009 from cape coast and Takoradi. Been lurking here almost 10 years. In-country Accra now and decided to check out the famous (infamous?

OK so we have all done Jokers the the rejuvenated Hot Gossip in Osu, At least for me, is the best Party in Town. Same girls, better music and now cage dancers in bikinis and a fantastic vibe. Some nights I've been to jokers and its now half empty and dull, left to Hot Gossip and its packed and vibrant. I mean WTF Jokers is the icon right?

Well, Ghana just handed me my ass, and showed me I'm not quite ready to monger in the tougher parts of the world quite yet.

Night started bad, ended bad, with bad in the middle.

Started with an asshole cab driver who wanted to drive every back road in Africa when there is a highway straight from my hotel to Osu. He didn't know where Hot Gossip was. I had directions because I had already experienced this last night. But he wasn't particularly interested in following them. Took me to about three clubs before he asked a bouncer on the street how to get to Hot Gossip, even though I knew the fucking way. Good way to learn the city, that's for sure.

Get to HG, and I get approached by Patricia and friend, from Liberia. They seem nice and fun loving. Normally I do better at sussing a nicer working girl, but this time I fucked up big style. She was the African nightmare I've read about in this thread.

Go to take her home, and 100 m out of HG I get shaken down by the police. Quasimodo you totally called it only two posts below, demanding 2000 cedis. I get out of that for 300. Such a good time. I was never worried that they were going to actually arrest me, I knew it was a scam, I just sat there acting like they were scaring me. They had all the power, as always.

Though this is my first post, I am not new to mongering. But despite having been around a number of places, I found the information in this Ghana forum extremely helpful (I read back over 100 pages down to the year 2009! I still have a few questions, but will post these in a separate entry. Let me use my first post to share some information which I hope will help other Gentlemen.

Labadi beach. Heaven and Nightmare.

The day of my arrival in Ghana (Wednesday- 3 days ago) I checked in the hotel and immediately went to Labadi beach. I was a bit put off by the very loud music of all those different bars at the entrance, so decided to walk along the beach towards three smaller bars separated from the big bar and restaurant area (walking left when you get to the beach). It was quieter here, just what I had been looking for, and hardly any guests. No guys selling stuff, but also no girls. After an hour, it was just getting dark around 7 pm, a slim Liberian girl approached me and asked straight forward if I wanted to fuck her. I asked how much, and after starting negotiations at 200 Cedi we settled for 50 for short time (yes, 50 cedi is possible even in a hooker place such as Labadi beach).

The bars were closing down by now, and it turns out that the guys at he last bar have a room they rent out. Fine for me, I thought, so I negotiated for 20 Cedis for the room with the guy. Was proud of myself that I had gotten such a good deal. Until I saw the "room". Gentlemen, I have had sexual intercourse in a number of lousy places, but this turns out to be a room without a roof. So we were in this "room", no bed, just a few plastic chairs, and looking at the stars, and this girl starting working on me. It was really a bit surreal, but I started enjoying it. Which is when the nightmare started: I finished, pulled out, and saw that the condom had ripped. I nearly freaked out. Gave her the 50 cedi, plus another 20 extra.

What calmed me down a bit was that (a) also the girl was extremely worried and (b) she did not only have condoms herself, but also carried female condoms to be protected if customers insist on bareback. This seemed that she was aware about risks and she was taking care about herself.

After the deed was done, we sat for one more drink with those rasta guys which hang around at that last bar (seems they were friends of the watchman), when suddenly the police turned up and went into the same back "room" where I had just busted the condom. The girl told me that the owner was settling some deal with the police, but I only thought how lucky we were that the police hadn't arrived 20 minutes earlier. Probably they could have not done anything (it is not illegal to have sex! But it would have been embarrassing having been caught with the pants down.

The girl and I left, with one of the guys, and they escorted me back to the main beach area where we I paid them a drink.

Post exposure prophylaxis.

The condom thing bothered me, so the next day I went to a clinic to get post exposure medication. I would very much advise anybody who has had a similar issue with a condom, or otherwise believes that there might have been exposure to the HI Virus, to take PEP medication. See for instance https://www.aids.gov/hiv-aids-basics/prevention/reduce-your-risk/post-exposure-prophylaxis/ for more information. PEP might not be 100% effective, but if it can reduce the risk it is work the side effects. I am on the third day of medication now, and didn't have any major problems so far (only yesterday evening a bit nauseated). The doc also prescribed additional medication against nausea.

Calabash.

Yesterday evening I tried the famous calabash. It has been written that it is not for the faint of heart, and I agree that a newbie monger might not want the Calabash as the first mongering experience. Arriving from Oxford street at Danqua circle, take the first exit right. After about 200 meters on the left side of the street you will see a Total petrol station. The Calabash is directly after the petrol station, also on the left hand side. The advantage of that setting is that there is a lot of light coming from the petrol station, which makes you feel safer. I entered the green hut, which is a very loud, small bar with a small dance floor. Ordered my drink, and already a girl waved to me. Went to her, agreed on the price (50 Cedi, which she had suggested. I didn't even negotiate), and she said there were rooms in another small hut behind calabash. 10 Cedi for short time. To my surprise, she said she didn't have any money and if I could pay the room and then give here the remaining 40 Cedis after we finish. So it was 50 with the room included.

Well, we are all different, and I get more excited by these seedy type of places than by top class escort services, so I came rather quickly. Which was good, because they already knocked on the door to say the time was over. I guess we didn't have more than 15 minutes in the room. Gave her 40 Cedis, she nicely asked me if I could buy her one more beer, and I left.

A few comments on Calabash:

- Rooms are very simple. No bathroom, no shower, only a mattress and a fan.

- The girl later mentioned that there are other facilities close by, for 15 Cedis, with water buckets and not so tight time restrictions. Has anybody tried these? I had the impression they were in walking distance.

- I didn't take any pics of my girl, and had I done so, I would not post them here. I would feel too ashamed. Probably a 2 on this forum's scale form 1 to 10. Belly, big saggy tits, ugly face. But hell, you cannot get a Mercedes for the price of a skoda!

- There were around 10 girls hanging around outside the calabash. They will approach you, don't worry. Most have seen better days, but there was one who looked cute. But Calabash is definitely not for those looking for style.

- The bar girl told me they open at 6 pm and stay open until next morning. I specifically asked if there ever was trouble and if it was safe for me to come here, and she said they never had any trouble.

As stated in my previous post, I have a specific question regarding accommodation (and yes, I have RTFF). I will be in Accra for nine months, and am looking for a place to stay. Now, the ideal setting would be the following (I am totally aware that not all this can be had at the same time):

- Small apartment, ideally with some room or cleaning service included. Balcony and / or nice backyard would be good (but not the Ghanaian concrete backyards).

- Access to a pool would be nice, but not a must.

- I know this is probably impossible due to the stupid layout of Accra, but is there a place with view of the ocean?

- I don't need to live in Osu, I can find my action myself (but of course if you know of interesting options in Osu that would be fine).

- areas such as Cantonments, Roman Ridke, East Legon would be good locations for me due to work. But other areas would also be fine if overall the place is very nice (again: Seaview would be a reason to take something outside the areas mentioned above).

Does anybody here know of any interesting options, or can tell me how best to find accommodation here? A long term hotel stay is also an option, if a good deal can be negotiated.

LaParadise Inn was good when I visited a couple of years back. Nice food, and very close to Jokers (and of course girl-friendly with no hassle or extra charges). You can catch a bus to Cape Coast from Accra bus station which is very cheap and quite good (a big modern bus, not a matatu type thing) and I assume to Lome as well. There's always a lot of waiting around for these, as you'd expect, so you might want to take a taxi. The owners of Laparadise can help you out there.

I'd be interested to hear from you or anyone else about Oasis Beach resort in cape coast. Looking at its Tripadvisor it says it has big parties there, especially at weekends. Semipros, pros, fun girls, horny voluntourists, stuck up NGO types. Would be good to know what sort of crowd.Back in USA after my trip. I had a really good time in Ghana. Really friendly people overall. Felt very safe.

Arrrived in Cape Coast after 4 days in Takoradi. Takorodi was not bad. Really not much there. It is an oil town as they say. Stayed at Stella Lodge for 4 nights. LOVED Stella. Felt like I was back in USA at a 3 star hotel. Nice. And the sports bar is really cool. Guess they built the whole complex during oil boom. They are hurting now with price of oil. The place was no where near full. But damn nice water pressure and bed and big TV. Sweet. Met my Liberian wifey at Vienna City. She turned out really GFE and nice booty. Haha.

So I digress. On to Oasis. Took cab there and arrived at Oasis Beach Resort in Cape Coast. Awesome location right on beach. You see slave castle there and huge Atlantic waves. I loved Cape Coast. Right out of a movie. Going back in time. The town is old school and cool vibe.

If you go to Oasis get the rooms with ocean view. They are not cheap but for 90 USD you are looking out at ocean hearing waves crashing. You aint getting that in Hawaii. Haha.

First night I was there solo. I went down to open bar area and it was pretty dead. I arrived on a Wednesday. I wasnt totally in mood to get laid but WTF. My cab driver and security guard called a few girls and an Ivory Coast girl showed up in about an hour. She was not bad. Decent body but you could tell not a high end working girl. She was from Ivory Coast. She said she wanted to be my boyfreind and have babies within an hour. Crack me up. Sex was OK but not great. She tapped out.

I think Ghaha is one and done country for me but I had a great trip.

I've been in Accra last couple weeks but will head to Gambia this coming Wednesday. Anyone there from the forum let me know by PM. We can meet up and exchange notes.

Will report on it later after my full trip is complete. So far, Accra has been so-so. I'm kinda shy so it's not so easy for me to approach regular girls and the vibe I get is that it takes some time and patience. There's not much if any exotic factor to being white here and just smiling at girls is not enough. I think you have to full on approach them without them giving any initial signs of interest and try your luck. Expect 1000- 1500 per month us dollars for furnished and centrally located nice apartments for short term rentals. It should include utilities.

Unfurnished and on in the center can be found for as little as 80 us dollars per month utilities not included.

Most agencies charge a fee for a showing of the accommodation and also an agency fee for rentals. Ask beforehand.

Keep your eyes open, negotiate and don't get taken for a ride.

Hi everyone,

Long time Lurker coming out for the first time here. I've been in GH for more than a year and learned quite a bit by lurking here, and by experimenting on my own.

First of all, I'm a budget punter. I stay away from expensive areas and nightclubs. I reside at local hotels / guest houses in suburban areas. And I avoid paid girls in as much as I can get away with it. A girl will always expect money of some kind, at least transport and some food, so freebies are not a thing- except super rare cases. But, you can easily juggle a handful of nice 'girlfriends' without spending big money. I mostly find them on tinder or badoo, but even facebook has worked out for me. Be friendly, tell them you want a GF. Invite them over for dinner. A lot will hurry into your room and not waste any time. If you go by paid ladies, most can be negotiated down to 100 plus transport for overnight. But a 'GF' will come see you just for food and transport, and if you treat her well, she'll be all over you.

My favorite spot is Chicos Pub in Atico, Bubuashie. It's on google maps. It's not the cheapest- 25 $/ night, but the best standard I've seen for a guest house. Big ceiling fans, daily cleaning, helpful staff, and no restrictions. I can bring as many girls as I want, smoke weed (which I get really cheap) in the courtyard- Joke around with the staff- cook my own food, etc. It's not far from Odorkor and Darkuman where you'll find plenty street girls, but I don't venture there. Also within reasonable driving distance from lapaz (20 minutes if the traffic is not dense). I can get four cedi club at the local bars, which is the best price I've yet encountered. And if I want to eat out, I spend about 5 cedi on rice and stew or indomie.

There are plenty girls here in the area wanting to get with me- I'm the only obroni around, but I stay away from the ones living here- made that mistake once, and she'd start crashing my room without notice, which is bad for obvious reasons.

Point in case though: Juggling girlfriends is easy as long as you don't go with the neighbors. Most young girls are busy schooling or working, and won't be able to see you more than a couple of times a week. You can easily have two to three girls a day and not spend more than 50 ghc in total. No big trick, besides being friendly and accommodating.

So far, Accra has been so-so. I'm kinda shy so it's not so easy for me to approach regular girls and the vibe I get is that it takes some time and patience. I don't get all the hate Nigerian girls receive here. So I have been in Accra a few days and wanted to jot down a few points to help others.

- I am staying just off Oxford street in what seems like a big family home complex. I am paying about £25/ night for double bed, own toilet, fan, a / see, tv, breakfast. All very very basic. Due to it being a family complex I have been a bit careful bringing girls back. Luckily it was all ST.

AirtelTigo is my 2nd choice with 2nd phone. You can buy a smartphone around 150 cedis from the circle. A double simmed one. Nothing great but will do the trick.

Finally if you have a 2nd sim (on the same phone or not) now you can install 2 whatsapp apps on a single smart phone. The normal whatsapp and the business one. Give one to normal women and the other to pros or girls you want to avoid. So you know who is calling you / texting you.

If you stay long time, Busy internet can be a good option. Also Tigo used to have a 3 ple data the 1st 3 months that you buy a new sim from them. I did it and I used to get a new simcard every 3 months.

Finally if you are hotspotting, set your hotspot for 1 user (or as many as you need to) a lot of Ghanaians have apps that can connect to your wifi / hotspot by 'unclocking'/ breaking your hotspot password.

I hope that the later was not the case with you. Very common here in Accra (at least).

Most foreigners stay in either Lagos or Abuja. Lagos has more variety but can be hectic, where as Abuja is far calmer and easier (it's akin to Ghana in some regards).

I wouldn't worry too much as a foreigner. When I go out to clubs and bars in Lagos and Abuja I see plenty of Europeans and Americans. They look like they have a good / decent time. Once you get the lay of the land then you'll be good. Nigeria, like Ghana and a lot of African countries, have the girls flock to certain bars and clubs. Set up shop there and you'll be good to go.

I will say this though: Ghana and Nigeria will offer you the same in terms of variety of women. Ghanian women do tend to be a tad curvier and aren't as aggressive (this is a country thing as a whole though). I always say Accra is like training wheels for Lagos. Well, honestly in terms of security, Nigeria is not safe. You'll need an security escort for most of the states. The only city I can recommend for whites is Abuja (the Capital State).
Apart from there, it will be very difficult to cope, everyone will try to get into your pocket, worst case: kidnapped for a ransom.I had the opportunity to visit both, Ghana and Nigeria. For this last country my experience is limited to Lagos and Benin City.

Honestly I must admit that in Ghana I feel me more relaxed in regard of personal safety but about Nigeria there are too many legends. Keep anyway your alert on high level.

Maybe Nigeria is more uncomfortable than Ghana, for example the lack of power that makes impossible to go out after sunset unless one doesn't take a dropping car or shared.

Other problem is the real danger of crossing the road considering that the most of drivers has not studied to get driving licence.

Last but not least, I don't find in Nigeria that plenty of street food offered on Ghana roads, so comfortable for us as visitors, compensated by the high level offered by venues and clubs in Nigeria.

In Benin City people look almost quite and good mannered. The thing of being an Oyibo has not created me any problem, on the contrary I was always in the centre of attention.

Sometimes I had the impression to have overpaid something but the surplus converted in Euro was never more than 5%.

About girls, Nigerians in Ghana become more aggressive and greedy, don't allow any preliminaries, rarely satisfy you with a GFE, what for Ghanaians is more than normal, specially out of Accra. Nigerians at home I find more gentle, even something more respectful and absolutely not clock watchers.

Definitely I am longing for travelling as soon as possible again to Western Africa, GH or Nigeria, whatever!

As always, after a long absence, you will find disappointments and appreciations. Count that Ghana has changed in 25 years, you have changed and the world has changed.

One of the most significative aspect that will affect your new visit to Ghana will certainly be the advent of the digital era. I have experienced some good adventures using applications as WeChat that is very used in Ghana, despite of being the direct contact very predominant there.

Also the possibility to be always reachable and always be able to reach others, changes completely the way of leading relations in the country.

The aid that Google Maps offers when you are on the road is incomparable with any kind of paper map, specially in the night or in a new place.

I think the best way to experience Ghana after 25 years is to afford it as a completely new experience and as I always recommend, don't spend too long time in Accra because as city it is too big, crowded, chaotic and bad organized.

I even had been in Tamale and Bolgatanga and I found an excellent situation there.

I hope to read new reports about your staying there and count on me for any info and direction.

Simpler is to book a 2nd hotel and then cancel that second reservation. Just because they are Africans, they are not stupid!

Jokers Club. Nice club with high (expensive) class ladys. Not my style.

La Paz. I was there on a Saturday evening and there was nothing to find.

Chicos Pub (and hotel) - closed for renovation.

SOMANYA.

Stayed at the Palm Hotel. (basic but ok). There is a brand new big discotheque on walking distance from the Palm hotel. I was there on a Sunday evening and there was many people, young and older, live band outside, DJ inside. Good experience. But in the daytime there is less to do in Somanya.

After all, in Ghana you can find good quality for less money. Halve the price than in Ivory Coast!! GO, GO.

Thanks.I've been to Ghana 9 times now and have spent over a year in the country. They have never checked the contacts on my visa application.

With that said, it is entirely possible that they could, but the chances of that are very small indeed. I always had at least one legit contact, if the Ghanaians did check both and discovered that one of the contacts was not legit, I sincerely doubt if they would "Black list" you. The Ghanaians are very reasonable when it comes to tourist visa's. And you're correct, they are not stupid.

This is a continuation to an earlier post on avoiding drama at police check points. That post was specific to the use of cabs. In the event that you are driving the following may be useful to you:

- don't go too far from where you're staying to pickup WGs. The farther away you are from home, the more checkpoints you may have to go through on your way back.

- (as stated earlier) ask the WG to put on the more decent clothes she has in her bag or stashed close by at the location she haunts.

- whenever you're approaching the checkpoint put the stereo and tune to RFI, VOA or BBC world service. Few people listen these foreign radio stations and fewer people listen to them in their cars at night. Works for me every time. A police man who stops someone listening to BBC at 1 am would naturally assume it's a 'big man' and not risk keeping him unduly.

-keep interactions short, curt and straight to the point.

E. g.

Q: where are you from?

A: my colleague and I went to dinner / office get-together.

Q: where are you going.

A: I'm taking her to her house.

- keep the lights off inside. If she wasn't able to change into anything decent then you're going to have to make her inconspicuous as possible.

- keep to the main roads. Since there'the be a bit more traffic of the main roads the police would not want hold up traffic unnecessarily by keeping you. If you drive on the back roads the police at the checkpoint on the back road have all the time in the world to interrogate you.

Jean.I try to give an answer to your questions (I was 8 x in Ghana).

- Yes Labadi is a good spot but personally I get easy tired of beach life. When you are there try also the two massage parlors. For other things to do in Accra and Ghana read the last 4-6 years of the Forum.

- If you mean girl-friendly the answer is "yes". If you mean enviromental respectful the answer is "no".

- Yes but buy it in your country, you might come across a pharmacist who demands the prescription.

- The weather in July is not bad, hot, a day of rain or two a week. Sky might be grey all day (better for your skin).

- Not every, sometimes you don't find it at all or sometimes there is a general one for the reception.

- ATM are at every bank or sometimes even isolated. Ensure they are working fine waiting for another person to use it before you. Get info at your bank which banking circuit fits your card. Avoid the night just for your personal security.

- If you mean a three something, it is possible in Ghana.

- Anal not common.

Well, I ended up manning up and going out on my own on Saturday night anyway.

You veterans are going to laugh at this report but I'm submitting it for your amusement.

I took a cab for 30 cedis to Kwame Nkrumah circle. The cab should have cost between 10-15, I paid the white tax.

First lesson. I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me that Uber would be in Accra, but they are. So use Uber and don't get ripped off by the super-annoying hustler cab drivers, with whom every ride starts with a shitty 3 min argument.

Since I had no idea where the red light district is, only that it's close to the circle, I went to the Vienna City bar.

Within 2 minutes of arrival I started talking to two local guys at the outside bar, and in the end they decided to show me around Accra. They didn't rip me off, negotiated all the cabs for local pricing, showed me some local drinks, etc.

I still have no idea where the red light district is from the circle. What I'm after is ST, I don't want girls in my hotel room.

Ended up shooting pool at Hot Gossip and had a fun night. Total failure on the mongering front, but at least I didn't waste another evening at a corporate hotel.

Amusing side note. Nigerian girl who was hanging out shooting pool with us offered to come back to the hotel. For 500 cedis, LOL. That's Hot Gossip for you. Obviously I declined.

Try a road, off Circle (coming from the interchange it is on the right side): Vanderpuije Street and walk on it at 9 pm. Also the other street where the Omega Hotel is, nearby.

Same situation if you move to Danque Circle and search near the big Glory Oil Station on the ring a sort of hut called Calabash. It is a bar where girls are used to hang out. A hourly hotel is nearby.

Been thinking long time about visit Africa, and Ghana will be my first choice.

Is Ghana better than Nigeria in terms of mongering?I have never been to Nigeria. To get a visa, I understand I must travel to DC for an interview. Its not worth it. However, to answer your question, I assume Nigeria is better than Ghana. Nigeria is bigger than Ghana and it is after all. Africa. The only African country that I did not care for was Cameroon.

Its been awhile since I was in Ghana. I always stayed my first two-three nights in Paloma Hotel. At night, go to the bar in Paloma complex. Then, as far as clubs go, you should be able to ask other travelers and expats where to bar hop. What was good when I was there has likely faded. Don't take anyone from a bar unless you want drama and police. World wide, clubs have a short half-life. At day, I walked to Nkruma Circle and "made friends". You can get a GF, a guide, someone to introduce, etc. Just don't get a pro from the club.

I met this one on the bridge at Nkrumah Circle in 2009. She still calls me everyday.
