I have done the whole "find a good girl from Africa via internet thing. From my experience , women from Cameroon and Ghana are more trustworthy. Nigerians? Hell NO. Ghana has many scams but nowhere near the Nigerians. All of my West African friends, to include the Nigerians ,agree.

My experience: No matter if one gives a girl a telephone call, or writes her an e-mail, the result is most likely the same and as follows: "can you send me ...", or, "need your help because I have to pay ...", or, "when you come to Accra bring me ...".

Well, actually no need to contact a lady prior to arrival as virtually every cuty is available. Simply go straight to "California" and make your choice! So, gentlemen, be wise and do not waste your precious time beforehand (I have to admit that I was stupid enough to learn that lesson not until the third try :) )!

Of course just IMHO, folks!

However, I will take more precaution against bites on my next trip.A trick I have learned is to use baby oil on exposed skin. It is a little gross but the mosquitos (at least in the Carib) do not seem to like biting through it.

Just a word of information about Ghana. Nearly all of the police can be bribed with something as simple as a liter of bottled water and some portion of food. The trick is to greet them before they greet you. Give them your email address, and you are a friend for life. Business cards work best. They will write you--you can count on it.

STDS are absolutely rampant throughout Ghana. The Krobo women around the Suhum and the dam area are walking HIV in a ration of 6 out of 10. You can get nearly any girl you want in Accra, especially near the Ring. Frankies is one of the best places to eat for a dine and dash. The LaPalm is a 5 star with rooms at about $200 US a night. It beautiful there.

Be careful guys--you're in the Capitol of AIDS land. Condoms are iffy.

QL:

I second that Frankie's is a very good place to be, especially during daytime! You bet your life, you'll easily find one cuty for some nice afternoon entertainment! Whenever I am there, I simply invite the girl that attracts me for one drink or two - the rest is then just a pure formality! :)

Your statements regarding HIV are inaccurate. Do you have any data you could cite for the various figures you claim? AIDS is a concern everywhere to be sure, and Ghana is no different, but its not the Aids Capitol by any means.

World Health Organization, (WHO), stats.

WHO Assessment of the Epidemiological Situation - 2004 Back to Top

Sentinel surveillance among women attending antenatal care clinics has been conducted on an annual basis. Since 1994, the surveillance system has included two antenatal care clinic sites (one urban area, one semi-urban) in all ten regions of the country.

HIV-1 is the predominant infecting agent (92.2% of cases), while 7.4% of cases are dual infections with HIV-1 and HIV-2, and only 0.5% of all infections in 2002 were with HIV-2 alone. The trend in HIV prevalence from 1994 to 2002 among all antenatal care clinic sites in Ghana shows that prevalence fluctuates with no clear pattern.

In 1999, a survey of sex workers in Tema and Accra found a HIV prevalence of 74.2% among the "seater" streetbased sex workers, and 27.2% among the home-based "roamer" sex workers, findings similar to those observed in 1997/98. In Kumasi, prevalence among sex workers was very high (82%) in 1999.

Guys,

I am no expert and I'm sure the HIV rate is lower in Ghana than many other African countries, but it's after all Africa.

I have never been with a prostitute in Ghana, I always stick to regular girls.

I would never consider going bareback in Ghana even with regular girls, but I feel pretty safe having sex in Ghana using a condom.

As stated dozens of time before on this forum - why even bother with prostitutes when it's so easy to score with most unmarried women?

At least that's my opinion.

For the time being it is confirmed that Lufthansa does not fly to Accra anymore.
The Ghanian government only allocated them two direct flights a week Frankfurt - Accra. This was economically not possible for Lufthansa so they pulled out.
The last report I read on this subject is that the government is still open for negotiation. Guess they are back tracking as a lot of revenue would be lost.
For the moment no flights but the last words have not been spocken on this issue.

Good thing is that AIDS also in Africa is not so high as medias say. That is only a propagand of pharmacy industry to have more funds. AIDS has a big rate in Africa but a lot lower that oficial porgentage.

Bad thing is that CONDOM is not so safe about virus. Condom was creted to avoid babies, not to avoid STD. THERE IS A 10-15% of risk that virus enter also using condom cause aids virus is very, very small. Anyway also if virus enter your probability to take aids is small, about 1 time every 500-100o if you are the man, in vaginal sex. In anal sex risk of course is a lot bigger cause the blood.

Readers of this thread should take note that the Center for Disease Control disagree with you regarding the level of protection from HIV that condom users get. That is, the virus is not too small to be stopped by a latex condom; in fact the latex condom is "impermeable barrier". According to the CDC:

AIDS is, by far, the most deadly sexually transmitted disease, and considerably more scientific evidence exists regarding condom effectiveness for prevention of HIV infection than for other STDs. The body of research on the effectiveness of latex condoms in preventing sexual transmission of HIV is both comprehensive and conclusive. In fact, the ability of latex condoms to prevent transmission of HIV has been scientifically established in “real-life” studies of sexually active couples as well as in laboratory studies.

Laboratory studies have demonstrated that latex condoms provide an essentially impermeable barrier to particles the size of STD pathogens.

Theoretical basis for protection. Latex condoms cover the penis and provide an effective barrier to exposure to secretions such as semen and vaginal fluids, blocking the pathway of sexual transmission of HIV infection.

Epidemiologic studies that are conducted in real-life settings, where one partner is infected with HIV and the other partner is not, demonstrate conclusively that the consistent use of latex condoms provides a high degree of protection.

Yesterday the computers were not working so I received this phone number from the Accra Lufthansa branch: 021-2438-93/94/95/96. Please call this number if you want to reconfirm your Lufthansa flight. Is there anywhere in Accra that I can rent a locker or a small storage area? I would like to travel light and move around from hotel to hotel but I also want to buy a bunch of crap to take home. There used to be lockers and such at bus or train stations in USA pre-9/11 and that is what I am thinking of, a place to stash a couple large suitcases. If I were to book one night at a premium hotel so that I can get my luggage (I will be bringing a bunch of stuff too) there easily from the airport, do any of them allow me to keep my bags there while I monger my way around accra for a week or two?

Where are all the real hot ones. I like Black women and I think the can be sexy but the ones I have seen in the Ghana thread are not hot enough.

I have looked at the pictures and so far I have not seen any hotties.

I guess these are pro pics but most guys tell me you don't need to do pros because the non-pros are so easy.

If I am going to be screwing around I want hotties that look like these Ghanaian ladies.

Why are you waisting your time compleining about the low quality of the women we have met in Ghana?
Go to Ghana, travel, seek girls, snap pictures.

You will experience that in Ghana - like anywhere else - there are real women and not just models, pictures, virtual creatures, actresses.
Leave Naomi Campbell in peace and hope never to meet her on your way!

Allow me just a personal opinion - very personal, forgive me - about your posted pics: the first is appreciable but also very "western" trendy. At fist: sorry for my bad English.

Second: I am going to Ghana at the end of August.

I have read some of the advices here. It is very interesting.

I wonder if it is allowed to take a girl from a bar or so to my hotel room to spend the night with. For example at the NOVOTEL.

I have only booked a single room, because I travel alone.

I am the first time in Africa and have low experience with meet these girls.

Thanks for any help

No problem taking a girl back to ANY hotel in Ghana. I have stayed at the Novotel, had a girl stay with me for 3 nights there, I paid the $115 cheap rate single. You will only pay extra if she has breakfast with you, and then you only pay for the breakfast, just be discrete. We even swam together in the evening in the pool, and she gave me an underwater bj as all the guests were mingling around....nice! Personally I didn't like the Novotel too much but $115 is pretty reasonable value.

OK Maybe I have different tastes to each girl but I feel the girl in the first picture I find more trendy and classy looking which is what I like and I want to know where to look.

The other girl was more a mulatta or mix. I wonder if its hard to find girls with this look too.

Is there special advice for a newcomer ? If I remember well I have read something about a recent chance of money (rise aof value or so ?)?

If I go to the beach is there a secure place to leave the personal things (money...). Is it possible to meet girls on the beach too, or only in bars ?

Hi guys,

I've got another question.

What about the hygenic/ sanitary standard of these girls in Ghana? Are there problems for example with oral sex because the girls have certain illness, deseases?

Some years ago I caught little insects (lice or something similar) from a Cuban girl in Havanna, who was not a pro but a normal girl.

Do anybody has an idea how to get a city plan from accra. To find the clubs. Because I will arrive around 6 p. M. On Saturday and I would not like to loose time but go after checking in to one of these clubs in Accra.

Thanks

I see that some people are taking cell phones to give away vs. cash. That seems imprudent but, I am curious nontheless. When I was in Ghana, the foreigners living there used satellite phones vs. cell phones. The last time I was there was 2004. Has things changed so that you can use cellphones? If so, are they so expensive in Ghana that you can't buy them in Ghana? Do you need a European phone or American phone?

Hi Papuas:

I regularly stay either in 'Niagara' (Adabraka), 'Frankie's' or 'Byblos' (both in Osu). All with TV and great aircon, plus - very important - clean and girl friendly! Price: about 50 USD per night. If you like more nightlife Osu might be the better choice.

I would like to visit Ghana. My sexual pleasure is SM or BDSM. Is there any experience with girls from Ghana concerning SM? In other words: are they pretty obedient? (out of their free own will)? Is it acceptable at all? To be sure I refer to adults only! Any answer (own experience, advice ...) welcomed.

Hi, I don't know Ghana at all. I have read 5 International Sex Guide pages about Ghana but nobody speaks about price to fuck. Can you tell me if Ghana is cheap? How much? How much cost to fuck regular girls?
Thanks

I've paid as little as less than the equivalent of $5.00. If you pick up a pro from Macumba, maybe the equivalent of $20-$30. The hottest looking, best dressed pro will be a professional room thief. You really don't need to pay outright, however. The biggest problem I had was getting rid of her. Always usr Cedi. Any demonination less than $100 is utterly useless in Ghana.

On July 1, Ghana dropped 4 zeros off their currency. Now it's called the Ghana Cedi whereas before it was just plain old Cedi. right now, the exchange rate on the street is approx .93/.96 buy/sell rate to the USD.

A pro is generally more expensive than a non-pro.

For a pro that you pick up at Joker's, Aquarius, and those types of places, you're looking at roughly GHC30 which is approx $33. Just remember to negotiate as they will ask for as much as the market will bear.

For the non-pro who you can pick up from virtually anywhere (kiosks, restaurants, walking down the street, on a tro-tro, etc...), give them between GHC 10 to 20 for "transportation" money and they'll be happy and generally you'll get a much better experience.

Hmmm... SM or BDSM... Can't say as I've heard of any local girls into that stuff. As for obedience, you can pretty much treat them as your personal slave as long as you treat them nice monetary-wise.

Hello gentlemen,

I have few questions: are there any hotels with AC and TV in Osu for 20-30$? Do hotels from this price range usually have deposit boxes (at least in lobby)? And if a hotel doesn't have safe box, is it possible to rent it somewhere in Accra?

Would appreciate your responces

In answer to your questions, it's basically no, no, and no.

Most hotels in Accra that have AC and tv in the room will charge a minimum of $40 and in Osu, this will be more.

Unless you're in a $100/night hotel, most won't have safety boxes although my experiences with hotels is a little outdated.

As for renting a safety box somewhere, good luck - I don't believe such a service exists here.

GC:

Are you really sure? My experience is somehow different, namely: pro's left me in the morning after having had received the agreed amount. Non-Pro's got slightly less 'taxi money', but asked me regularly for additional gifts like cellphones, digital cameras etc. Moreover non-pro's can be quite possessive ('You are my boyfriend now!')!

IMHO, of course!

I always prefer non-pros when I travel to Ghana, but Hesikels has a good point when he says they can be possesive.

DO NOT give them your phone number in your home country - I made that mistake and have at least two girls from Accra calling me every day here in Norway.

Be aware if you don't like that!

What other members reported is all right.
Prices - gifts, pardon - are between 5 and 50 euro (or US Dollars). I have even noticed that average girls are more in confidence with Euro than US Dollar or UK pounds but this is not the question.

The gift assumes different names after the situation which brought you to meet the girl: they will call it "taxi fee","breakfast cash","phone card","I have some debts","I must give some money back to my roomate","I just need 20 euro to make my house rent complete".
Of course no taxi and no breakfast costs in Ghana so much as the gift you will give her, it is just a way to say, to proof they are "regular" and to make you feeling not to be a customer.

As warned by another member, gift depends from the situation: girls you meet in Makumba or similar clubs after midnight are there to get a "breakfast cash" not lower the 20-30 euro after your 2 shots overnight.

A poor shop-girl who you meet sweating under the Sun near Okaishie Market with her banana load on her head and invite for a shower and a Coke in your hotel room will be glad to receive 5 euro and sell you her bananas.

Difficult subjects are the student girls: if they are used to Obroni they are the most expansive. They are always paying rates of a computer (true or false), buying books (real or phantastic), studying against the will of their parents (!) on their own and will trespass easly a demand of 50 euro. Other students are not used of our mongering and innocently can make out really for free or at least for a REAL gift such as unexpansive meal or drink invitation.

A different situation comes if you meet a "senior" one, let's say an estabilished over 30 y.o.
She will invite you to leave your hotel and move to her place for the rest of your holiday.
She will propose you to help her in the food and beverage shopping and - if your stayig is long - to share the house rent cost. It will be also a good occasion for her to call the plumber to repair something or to renew some chairs or old tables or bed.
At the end you risk to pay a lot of money for spending ten days with the same woman - which might be boring - but you will have the possibility to discover Ghana from its interior (relations, burocracy, stories, gossips, laws, politics, ...).

In any case don't forget to compare the standard level of life in Ghana and your country and conseguently the "Taxi fee".
If you spend an overnight in your country for 250 US Dollars and a middle salary is 1500 $, remember that a salary in Ghana rarely reaches 90 $ ... have your calculator nearby and remember the maths of the primary school!

Ha ha ha - I just say no ! I tell them I never ever buy gifts for anyone so don't even think about it.

Moreover non-pro's can be quite possessive ('You are my boyfriend now!')!

I always make sure with every new "GF", I tell them that I am have lots of other GF's and they are but just one of them. At first they will complain and be possessive but when they realize that they get 200,000 cedis from me for transport, they start to want to be the best amongst the harem so that I'll call them more often. This is when they really turn it on with doing everything I want them to do.

Different approach I guess but this one works for me.

I think some guys out here are far too much counting every pence before spending it.

And here i don't mean overpaying the professionels at night (rather pay them the standard local going rate.)

But getting a regular, taking your share of whatever costs and getting a much better overall experience is a good way to go.

Moreover because her social circle will allow you to meet new people that will not be met in a fucked-up pick-up joint.

And if you play your cards right, there will be some other women in her circle that you can shag.

And you will make some male friends, eg neighbours, who will be to happy to go out hunting with you.

And hunting with a local friend gives you endless opportunities and advantages.

At the end you risk to pay a lot of money for spending ten days with the same woman - which might be boring - but ... Excellent post, Roman Guy! Totally agreed! At the end of the day it might be indeed more expensive with a non-pro (reasons: see RG's post)! Sure, it always depends on what you want to do in Ghana! If you plan to 'discover it from its interior' then it would be most likely ok to overspend, but if you merely intend to f**k as many girls as possible you might be better off to select pro's or half-pro's (anyway, I never understood the difference between 'normal', 'pro' or 'part time pro'!).

However, my motto according to the famous philosopher "Ekspat" is 'play and pay, that's ok' - and indeed that was most uncomplicated with the so called pro's. IMHO, of course!

Hi Alew:

Since public transportation is well developed and very cheap, there is actually no need to hire a taxi for longer trips. Although a taxi might be a little more comfortable you would miss an excellent chance to contact nice girls during your tour!

Gentlemen, I need advice,

Reading posts on this forum I got impression that lower class hotels in Accra are not very safe -- i.e. personal belongings and cash get stolen. I will be in Accra for 2 months and decent 50-60$ rooms are lil bit expensive for me, so probably I will be staying in 30$ hotels. I am planning to bring some equipment (computer, camera etc) with me to Ghana. So, my question is: what are the chances that my stuff could be stolen in these 30$-hotels. Did anyone have such expirience? Does anyone knows any "safe" hotel of this price in Osu?

Would appreciate any info

There were7 people in every row, where there should be a max of 4. Of course no leg room to speak of. Of course most of the people smelled bad, as they were travelling with a lot of luggage. Of course the windows remained closed the whole trip. Did I tell you that there were several chicken in the bus and maybe 15 goats on top of the luggage on the roof. I still don´t understand why my luggage smelled strange after that trip.

As others are answering, bus is the best solution to travel long distances.
Anytime you are waiting for a bus in a station - sometime it goes for good 4 hours - you will be able to know new flames, all no-pro whom to share some nights with.
Within the city I suggest you to travel by tro-tro, if you are alone: they are minibus (like Ford Transit,Fiat Ducato), normaly white, operating on fixed routes at the cost of about 0.30 euro. They also offer at the bust stop good opportunity to know "new persons".
Take a taxi when you move with your flame but never forget to negotiate the fee with the driver because cars have no meter inside: a run is between 1 or 2 euro by day, more expansive at night.

Dear one,
I had been spending holidays in Ghana around 14 months ago - read me plz - sleeping in 10-15 euro hotels and I didn't report any rob.
This doesn't mean that it is not possible to happen.
I always got in touch with the management and drop them my valutables in change of a receive and they were glad to offer me this service for free.
The only problem was to receive my belongings back because the person who took care of them was often not present, so long time waiting.
Do not show too much clearly to your numerous - I hope - girls where you keep your camera - it is not possible to hide it because you will certainly snap her nudity - and locking the door before sleeping keep away the key taking advantage of her shower or easying.
Do not go out showing watches, pens, devices which might put in temptation someone who for low morality and high poverty might be confused.

Brother Roman Guy is right! In terms of waiting I had exactly the same experience at Byblos hotel. Fortunately it was just 30 minutes until I got my items back. But, so what, since I had still plenty of time!? :)

What I do in order to store my items safely is quite simple: I lock money and documents in my suitcase and keep the keys in my wallet. I think that's not a bad option!

Sorry mate but this is rubbish, I've travelled in trotros all over Ghana and never hace I seen a goat on a roof or had chickens for company inside. Though 7 abreast is the norm that is true. There has been some debate here regarding cost of girls etc in Ghana. Just to add my bit, generally you can get whatever it is you want. Now that maybe a pro from Macumba/Jokers etc which will almost be a contractual thing where price is agreed in advance for services rendered overnight or less. Fine if that's your thing but as others have mentioned here, to have a semi gf type relationship is far more rewarding. I personally hate pros, prefer the regular girls even if there is the hassle of them wanting to tag along too much. Though I always claim I am on business (sometimes true) when I am in Ghana so that's a great way to shake them off if you want to.
Last time I was in Accra I hooked up with a girl who has her own shop, car and apartment in Kaneshie and ended up moving in with her for 2 days at the end of my trip when to be honest I was happy to stick with one girl after having shagged my way through 6 or 7 the previous 4 days. This was a great contrast to what I had been doing and we fucked non stop, went shopping, she cooked for me, did a little sightseeing, basically it was a lot of fun. Sure I paid for our expenses but that was all, I mean c'mon guys this is Africa, it's not expensive so I fail to understand why there is so much debate on cost of girls, it's just not a big issue...IMHO

Wow, Bloke, finding such an 'upperclass girl' (with own shop, apartment and car!) is indeed like hitting the jackpot! Congrats, man! And sure, Miss Right owned already all the great stuff others are still longing for (like digital camera, notebook, etc, etc)! So, gentlemen, what's the moral of the story? Very simple: always be wise and choose preferably wealthy ladies! Then you have 100% GFE and most likely full service for free! In this case you will be truly THE lucky guy, accompanied by THE 'real moneysaver' - am I right, Roman Guy!? :) :) :)

I travelled by bus and other public transport in many third world countries, including 3 in Africa. I could hardly breeathe in this bus and couldn´t leave itfor 6 hours. Maybe it was luck, other rides in Ghana were more confortable.

So for long distance travel (more than 2 hours) I would check my mode of transportation very carefully

Yea Bloke, these girls do exist, I've had the same experience. Much better than dealing with pro's, who you cannot trust.

When you hook-up with one of these ladies, you will get to meet their friends! Who also have money!! Be sure to take care of these ladies as they can be invaluable. To get a girl to swallow, you have to train her ! I've trained all my girls to swallow and once they get over the initial disgust, they accept it. I try to tell them that all oburoni girls do it so if they hope to catch an oburoni man, they have to learn the art of swallowing.

I have just got back from lovely accra after a glorious fun filled 2 weeks.

Whilst there I occassionaly used the local internet wireless facilities and twice used an internet cafe at Danquah circle. When I got back to the UK begining sept I tried logging into etc my hotmail account to check my emails, well guess what? I couldnt - "incorrect email id or password" well I thought I was going mad anyway gave up, tried ISG to upload my pics, I kept on getting incorrect password, time and time again.

Using my Yahoo id I contacted Jackson informed him of my problem and how I thought my id was comprimised, Jackson replied asking me for further details but had also copied his reply to my hotmail account. Almost immediately I had an email from my hotmail account titled "silly boy" going on to say "you dont give us locals enough *%@# credit"

To cut a long story short, Im back online thanks to Jackson and Im working with MSN Support to get my hotmail id back.

Careful folks!!

Hi guys,

I am first time traveler to Accra this December for 25 days. I just love black pussy so I figured I go where they make it. I am now working on my VISA application, Has anyone had any trouble getting a Visa?

Normally when I travel I book a hotel for one night online then I look around the city for a cheaper place. That worked very good in Dominican Republic. What do you think?

I am more concerned about carrying to much money there initially, thought I would use my Visa more, I have in the past bought a small lock box at Walmarts ($10) and would screw it down inside my room to something stable and use this method. I know thats not really secure but when you bring a honey home and go to the restroom for a minute it works well. PS They will always check you when going through the airports LOL

Do they have Liquor stores there. I read about star beer but I am mostly a Volka drinker. I thought about carrying a few bottles with me unless its easy available there.

Has anyone stayed at the Penta Hotel, how was it and how much did you pay? Will rooms be as cheap in person as online? I figured when they saw you get out of a taxi they might raise their rates somewhat.

Thanks very much for the fine reports, I will contribute when I return.

It's been a long time since I've worked in Accra, and things may have changed since then, but I did not have pleasant experiences using credit cards there. The fraud was rampant, and at least twice, I had to cancel my Amex account and get new cards because of this. Once, someone at the five star Golden Tulip Hotel tried to hit my card for $10,000. I recall someone at Amex explaining to me that there was so much credit card fraud in Africa, that Amex refused to send new cards there. Instead, I had to have the new card sent to my secretary in Paris and she then had to send me the new card by Fedex as Amex would not accept responsibility. Remember, as soon as you use the card, the numbers can become known to every person in the restaurant/hotel where you used it and these guys really know how to make use of those numbers, or at least they did when I was there.

For me, cash always works best anywhere in Africa. You might want to consider just putting a bunch of money in your account in your home country and then using the ATMs to withdraw just as much cash as you need whenever you need it.

Alew217:

Getting a tourist visa for Ghana is actually no problem at all, at least not when you have a round-trip ticket and hold a passport from the US, Canada, Switzerland or European Union! However, I always got it within three or four days.

In terms of VISA card I second GoodEnough and would rather discourage you to use it! Save yourself from the well known frauds and better change some money from time to time. With the usual precautions you should not have problems.

GEI suggest going to Accra with $100 bills and exchanging them at the FX bureau shops. Such shops are common. Pay for everything in cash. You can get a Visa debit card from a new bank account in your home country and keep some funds in that account for emergency ATM withdrawals while traveling. Don't put too much money in that account. This will help protect against a large fraud.

Hi guys,

I am first time traveler to Accra this December for 25 days. I just love black pussy so I figured I go where they make it. I am now working on my VISA application, Has anyone had any trouble getting a Visa?

It depends where you are but generally Ghana doesn't create troubles. By the way ... VISA ... as credit card it is accepted easly!

Normally when I travel I book a hotel for one night online then I look around the city for a cheaper place. That worked very good in Dominican Republic. What do you think?

It will work the same. Be ready to change your hotel frequently. Girls learn easly where you stay and will wait for you downstair or come in the night to disturb you when surely are with a new flame.

As before reported VISA is welcome but the commission is high. Some hotel accept you to deposit money there or have a security cell in the room. About carrying the lock box from home and the airport check ... I cannot answer, try and let us know.

Drink carefully! There are girls - and boys - just looking for drunk obroni to rob.
My holiday in Ghana was the period in my life when I have drunk the less - also not to compromise my sexual performances. Imagine, I have experienced the Red Bull in that occasion!

I had a real mixture of companions, from just wanting to be with me for nothing other then my offering the taxi fare to paying a minimum of 10 new cedis for street pick ups to 40 cedis for club or pub pickups (Ł1 = 1.84 Cedis). By the way, the street girls were excellent. The suprising difference with Ghanian compared to East African women is most dont drink alcohol but prefer the Guinness Malt drink. I fully agree with that advice to drink carefully.

First night in Ghana I drank 12 bottles of Gulder and 6 bottles of Smirnoff Ice at a small spot on Darkuman Main Road. After leaving I felt somebody rummaging through my pockets. I managed to grab hold of him and give him a couple of blows breaking his nose. A few people saw what happened and a small crowd gathered around while I was explaining that this lad had tried to pick my pockets. When I checked my pockets my mobile phone was missing and was found in this lad's pocket, so I got that back. The crowd then started to take there own justice out on the lad.

A couple of weeks later I was back in that area and found out that the lad had been told to never show his face in that area again. Six months on and he still has not been seen again.

Interesting, but yes, you are right! The girls I met in East Africa were indeed all hard drinkers (Tusker beer gallon-wise! :) ) whereas the West African ladies preferred soft drinks.

However, "can you buy me a drink?" is also quite common in Ghana! Careful, gentlemen, even boys will ask you "friend, pay me just one beer, ok!?". When you are generous enough to invite one guy, then you have a fair chance that 5 of his friends will be behind your neck 2 minutes later!

Similar experiences, Roman Guy?

1).as earlier reported about ratio "hard/soft" drinker girls i have never seen so many red bull (and malt) girl-drinkers as in ghana where i experienced positively red bull my first time too. this doesn't mean that girls don't touch stout at all, on the contrary they do but not to pass the time, maybe it is a precaution to remain attenctive in the night.(rob,violence,[CodeWord123] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord123),sleep,...).
2).yes but here in italy, moving with africans, i have developed a strategy not to invite men. i tell them smiling "please, don't create me new troubles, one time i have invited a man for a drink and the day after the all belived i was here to pick up black men, please, it was an unpleasant experience because now girls laugh after me, i am spoiled here, disgraced from that day!". it works and can be used also in case a man or two or a couple m/f ask you for a lift, because africans consider homosexuality a tabu.

In my experience, folks in Ghana generally are not drinkers at all. If you hook up with a girl who likes her booze you can be sure she is a pro. I've been with girls who like a smirnhoff ice or 2 but that tends to be their limit of tolerance. Most do stick to the malt (disgusting stuff in my opinion). Drinking historically has not been part of their culture (palm wine excepted) plus there is the affordability thing too.

Regarding guys, I have 2 or 3 very good Ghanaian male friends who I always see when I visit, one of whom is an invaluable source of young nubile student type babes gagging for an obroni! Another I often travel in country with. Obviously many guys are out to take advantage of an obroni tourist but if you're savvy, there are many genuine guys that if you befriend works to both parties advantage!

Credit cards were accepted most places in Osu as well as various places in Accra but, don't count on them being accepted everywhere in Accra. Outside Accra, I couldn't find any hotel in Tema that accepted them and there were only a handful of hotels that accepted them in Takoradi.

Dear Yossi,

As I stated above I am quite sure that Raol and Belguel were the same person under diferent names...but the tastes and the techniques remained the same!

I am not presenting any resentment, criticism or antagonism ...only assuming a perception!

Am I wrong ? ...if anyone knows better ! Speak up ...please!

greetings

GabI liked Raoul's reports, it is too bad that he stepped on the wrong stone and got caught. I just googled "Belguel" and got a bunch of results in foreign language and almost all the results have the word "arrestoz". Basicaly for me Beguel = arrested. Did some more searches until I stumbled on the article written in English and there says that he was journalist and there is also a photo of his mug. Now I remember that I read about him couple of months ago on Wikipedia.

On another internet forum, there was a guy named Shameless. He wanted to open his "all anal agency" in Kiev, Ukraine where he would fuck Russian women in the ass. Somehow this guy "magically dissapeared" and some people say that mafia got him and killed him.

Kinda makes me think about anal this way: If the cops and mafia will not get you then the aids will. Sorry for the dark joke.

Personally I just love when a hot woman gets porked in her ass.

Useless check:
who has got an ID in Ghana?
No one of the girls I have "met" in Ghana had an ID with or an ID at all with the exception of one, who shew it to me to proof her name to be her real one.

I know that because some asked me to send them money from Italy by Western Union or similar agencies but the all gave me the extremes of a relative, a sister, a mother, ... of them because they had no documents at all. Some people are even not registred in the municipal file.

Maybe one from Liberia had a sort of paper as refugee.

I suppose only wellfared girls, students or nobles have got an ID but it is not said they go out with it in them bags.

Having read part of this thread now, I’m a little confused as to the prices of Morocco Or is it just the haggle and the faggle.

But I hear people bragging about getting a service for 12 bucks.

Can you rely get a good night with a girl for $12.

Also I have not heard/seen on this thread ‘guide’ services.

Does any one know of any and the prices.

I year ago now I met a Moroccan that was a guide in Morocco.

He talked about storrys, saying you can pay the equivalent of 2 euros.

Reply greatly appreciated.

...James

Do not compare Morocco with Ghana. Different situation, religion, pressure of society, and all
Anyway I have a rule about pricing in my mind that can be used worldwide.

I always compare the standard of my country with the one of the land I am visiting. In my country an average salary is about 1300.00 €, let's say 1849.83 $ and an overnight with a girl is quoted 200-300 €, let's say 250 €.

It is easy to calculate that where a salary is 100 euro ... let's remember our primary school maths: 1300:100 =250:x from which x= 19,23€.

It means that a good "taxi money" or "breakfast cash" or "telephon card" can be 20€ or, for some extra received we can arrive to 30€.

In Ghana rarely I gave more than that, with full satisfation of all.

Of course my offer was never 20€ or 30€. I always proposed them 10€ and some accepted this amount smiling.

Much depends also by the social level of a girl.
Referring only to the "regulars", the most expansive are the students with all their outgoings for books, computers, phone, houserent and cheapest are the street vendors, peddlers and carriers. A student never goes for less than 50€ and in the same while a poor vendors is happy with 10!

Hi all,
just back from another trip to Ghana where I travelled all over. Will report more on that when I have time. I stayed in Osu for the first time, at Frankies for a few nights which is an ok place but in my opinion, as Osu seems to be the place that many tourists gravitate to when in Accra, so it also attracts some of the flotsam to be found in Accra. Walking down the street you are constantly hassled by all sorts of low life seeking a way into your wallet, and these people are simply not typical of 99% of Ghanaians. Also the hotels (Frankies, Penta etc) are relatively expensive at $69 a single room compared to similar standard hotels elsewhere. I got hustled by some Ivorian who hangs out outside Frankies, also propsitioned on the street by what I assumed to be a regular girl (she was not anything special). Stupidly I took her up on her offer and after 30 minutes of action she demanded $50, man I'm fucking stupid, she even punched me in the face the *****, I got rid of her with 300,000 and learned my lesson, never again. I hate the pros, I just didn't think she was one.
I will never again stay in Osu, I simply don't see the attraction of the place though I do have a good friend who lives there (Ghanaian) so will visit.

Newhaven Hotel
This place is located just behind Paloma complex on the ringroad also near Busy Internet. It was recommended by a Ghanaian friend, I would never have found it. Nice courtyard, leafy with trees, rooms are pretty basic but with a fan and shower/toilet, very good value for 120,000 cedis per night, or for 230,000 you can have aircon and a massive bed. Paloma is great for eating, Champs Sports Bar also there. And no hustlers like in Osu. No problem bringing ladies of course.

Hi Bloke:

Be assured exactly the same can happen to you with a non-pro as well, namely then when her 'taxi money' is too little! According to my experience virtually all African ladies can't take a joke when it comes to money. Even the sweetest beauty queen can get all of sudden quite unpleasant then.

Since the line between pros and non-pros is very thin it might be advisable to agree on a certain amount for the service (or the taxi :) ) well before going back to the hotel. However, you did an excellent job by not paying her the 50 bucks!

Bloke

It was introduced in July I believe, 1 new cedi = 10,000 old cedis, so Curry, $1 used to buy you a little under 10,000 old cedis and now 1 new cedi = a little under $1, answer your question?
The old currency is still in circulation alongside the new, the banks are slowly draining it out of the system replacing it with the new notes via ATMs etc. Both old and new are accepted everywhere, you can pay in the new and get change in the old but don't worry it's normal. The new currency has benefits, the ATMs in Accra etc now offer bigger denominated notes and you can take out up to 200 new/2million old at a time instead of 800,000 old which used to be the limit. Also bigger denominations means you no longer have to walk around with big wads of 20,000 cedi notes!

My 1st time in Ghana, I picked up two Nigerian women at Mucumbas. The called themselves cousins to each other, One tall and one short. The tall women tried to hustle me the next morning. I sensed a hustle and said I didn't exchange Cedi yet. I refused to give her $100; she was mad when I tried to give her a US $20. I was saved from my ignorance because I liked the short one and asked her to come back later that morning. Not wanting to anger me and loose out on me, the short one actually calmed her tall friend down. The tall friend eventually took what was the equivalent of $10 after I exchanged USD to Cedi later that day... "only because my cousin likes you..."

Regardless, 18 is YOUR legal age requirement. Don't concern yourself with anyone younger.

What is the age of consent in Ghana?

Hey fella's, during one of my stays in Ghana, I remember watching the local news, (Accra), and the topic was - "Age of Consent". I'm almost positive they said 18 years old. Apparently foriegn mongers had been seeking out very young girls and this does'nt sit well with the Authorities. I can remember feeling a bit uncomfortable in a house full of 18ish to 20ish year old girls, at which point I inquired about the age of each and every one in the house, which is useless because most don't even know when they were born, and if they did, they will lie if they think their ride is coming to an end.

The Italian version of Wikipedia reports a world map of the age of consent which looks to be better updated than the one displayed in the English edition.

Unfortunately Ghana is not determineted but since Togo,Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast have assumed 13,12,15 it should be for Ghana something alike.

As I check, Yemen looks to be the "most liberalist" with an age of consent of 9. Good position of Nigeria with 12 or 13, it is not clear.Moslem countries have a low age of consent, generally.

I have a friend in Ghana who says that we can now exchange all denominations of bills in addition to the $100. I haven't attempted it so, I will take mostly $100 notes. I wish someone could confirm this however. I like to verify my info.

Also, how many "Giftys" have you met in Ghana? It seems like every other Ghaniana is named Gifty.

I was one of the 1st posters on the original WSG in the early 1990s. This is no longer what I need info for. If some are exchanging info for the purpose of sex with minors, I'm outa here.

amen brother harry:

let's get back to the topic of sexual conquests over legal and sane women. if you cannot do it in your country, do not bring your ****philia to ghana. it makes it bad for all of those who truly enjoy the company of women. by the way, there are enough of them in ghana and in all shapes and sizes; even for those that like the "[CodeWord901] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord901)" physio-type. lastly, i would have to agree that there must be a million ladies by the name of gifty living in ghana. it makes for an interesting dilemma: what if we all had the same gifty? rflmao!

I've changed $100's, 50's and 20's without any problems for the old as well as the new cedis.

I sure hope it not for the purpose of sex with a minor ! The legal age of consent is 18 in Ghana as verified by a senior police officer friend.

Dear Mongers,
I am french and I am going to Accra next Sunday for few days. I am just wondering whether I could get an entry visa at the airport with a French (Europena Union) passport.
Thanks in advance

Do not risk!
Visa is only issued by embassies abroad.
Enter Ghana with a valid visa in your poket.

Visa is released by Embassies of Ghana to people who are able to submit a valid passport, 2 or 3 pictures, a certificate of vaccination against yellow fever received at least 10 days before, a return ticket, a hotel reservation or an invitation letter or a credit card. Those three last points are frequently missed by the embassies.

Frequently I have heard about rejected people.
In spite od the concept that in Africa everything ios possible - bribery - begin your journey troubleless.

Visas are issued on arrival only to those who commenced their trip from a country where Ghana is not represented in the form of an embassy or consulate or high commission. A couple of years ago I landed in Accra without a visa and since I had arrived from London where there is a Ghana embassy, I was denied a visa and kept waiting for 8 hours before they decided to issue one!! Do Not Risk!!

Hey Friend,

I will be in Accra for 25 days this December. After months of reading all you guys experiences LOL I have decided to test the waters. Thanks for your post, one question? Is the Newhaven Hotel easy enough to find. I am sure the Paloma is a good landmark but I read that the taxi drivers are not the sharpest tools in the shed, if I use Paloma Hotel as a guide, what directions would I give the taxi from there. I will be coming from the airport and arriving about 8pm. Do you think they would rip me because it would be late and they would have me helpless by then? Is there a number for this hotel? I have searched but was unable to find one.

I don't know exactly how long I will stay there because I also want to travel to cape coast and maybe Kumasi.

Is the hotel considered safe and secure?

Thanks Alew217

Newhaven Hotel

This place is located just behind Paloma complex on the ringroad also near Busy Internet. It was recommended by a Ghanaian friend, I would never have found it. Nice courtyard, leafy with trees, rooms are pretty basic but with a fan and shower/toilet, very good value for 120,000 cedis per night, or for 230,000 you can have aircon and a massive bed. Paloma is great for eating, Champs Sports Bar also there. And no hustlers like in Osu. No problem bringing ladies of course.

An official taxi from the airport will likely cost you around 8 cedis, dont pay more, tell him to go to Paloma, when you get to the turn off, instead of going into the Paloma parking lot, head straight on up the dirt road for maybe 30 metres, take the first left, 30 metres ahead on the right hand side is the Newhaven Hotel with a white lit up sign outside. It is not a large place but you should easily find it. If you can't, but you are in the Paloma area, just ask anyone on the street. Google search "newhaven hotel accra" and this is copied from the first response

I don't know if the number is accurate. The hotel is often quite busy with Ghanaians and a few budget travellers, not surprising at their prices so if you can reserve ahead, I would. Be warned, the receptionists are a miserable bunch, don't expect a smile, but excellent vfm.

Thanks for the info, if you have any other suggestions about finding beautiful black ladies feel free LOL. I need all the help I can get. I promise a full report when I get back. I have chatted with many ladies through AFF and other sites but when I traveled before this never worked out, I always found my pussy by walking around. I do plan a trip around maybe to Kumasi and cape coast also. I will travel wherever the pussy seems the most promising LOL. I will probably change hotels from what I have read about here.

Thanks again Alew

Well the ladies come in all forms, if you want the pros then just head on down to Macumba or Jokers, they look good though I prefer regular girls. If you have the time and inclination, you can hook up via social networking sites, always worked for me. I never tried AFF and afrointroductions is a waste of time in my opinion. By using networking sites you can arrange to meet regular girls who live in places like Lapaz, Spintex or Dansoman who would never dream of going to some of the clubs in Accra and generally lead a relatively simple existence, though in my experience, the most enthusiastic in the bedroom. Often though they will be looking for a relationship so that is an issue you have to deal with. If you hook up this way, one tip, don't bother arranging to meet a girl who lives in Tema, it's too far away and they will always be so late.

On my last trip I met a great girl via a networking site who lived out in Spintex, worked in a fast food joint up there by day, she was insatiable and I ended up sticking with her for a few days.

In Kumasi, I recommend to stay at a place called the Kumasi Catering Resthouse, it is around $25 a night but you get a huge chalet and it's quite central. There is also an excellent restaurant attached. The times I have been there I went to "Roses", an air con bar not too far away where you can find female company, they are semi-pros but not as hard core as you find in Accra.

Cape Coast you will find many students, though I don't know the nightlife there too well and again, many don't go out so it's always worth hooking up in advance if you are pushed for time.

Enjoy Ghana, it's a great country and well worth travelling, many visitors also on this forum never get to travel out of Accra. Last time I went I travelled down from Tamale via the Volta region back to Accra, it was tough but fascinating.

Hello guys,

If you feel adventurous you could go to one of the local hairdressing saloons. Many of them have a lot of girls as apprentices. Most of the time they are not so sure what to do with western hair. Make sure they don't spoil it!

But . . .

You will have a lot of young non-pro girls around you who are very interested to get to know you. At this point it is easy to set up dates for later.

Take care,

Ernst.

I think its like Cuba vs Colombia, if you can relate to this comparison. Ghana is more like Cuba. Kenya like Colombia. The infrastructure is more primative in Ghana but, Ghana is safer. Its easy to travel on your own and you can get away from the cities. The women don't dress as well and there's many refugees from Liberia, IC, and then there's those nasty Nigerians. In public, Ghanian women are well mannered but, the first out-of-the-way corner you find yourself alone, she will be all over you. Ghana is not a party destination. Most Ghanians are in bed by 8:00 pm. Kenya has more toursists and you can party until you drop but, is much more dangerous even outside the cities. Women generally are more attractive and dress better than the western Africans in Ghana. Kenya has more to choose from with many Ugandans, Ethiopians, and other eastern varieties. In both places, I think 90% of the women are "*****s". Kenyans are more aggressive in the clubs. Both are ruthless just hide it differently. My experiences are different because in Ghana, I was a bachelor. In Kenya, my Kenyan (ex wife) watched me and every other woman who may have looked at me closely. I think Kenya is better for women because they weren't as fat but, you won't be alone either places, whether you want to or not.

Hi Munich:

Yes, in both the countries I was more than once! Be assured, in terms of mongering it makes actually no difference in which African country you are! Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon or Gabon: you will always find plenty of pretty young ladies and virtually all of them are available for you! :)

Have a great time!

Thanx for your answer.

I can not agree in a whole with you. I just came back of 2 weeks in the Gambia, and I was very disappointed. It was nowhere near comparible to Kenya. What is the going rate in Ghana for a nice woman? In Kenya it is approx. 10-15 €, in the Gambia 30€.

Finally it's there.

Directly at the Tetteh Quarshie (close to Shan Gri La, African Regent and Fiesta Royal Hotel) the SHOPRITE supermarket. If your chick want's to see America or Europe and you don't want to pay for the air ticket or the Visa is refused, invite her for a round through this mall. Fantastic and good value for money. Less expensive compared to KOALA and MAXMART.

Watch out, in the same building is also a WOODIN (African fabrics), keep your wallet tied.

Hello Guys, I have been reading the Ghana board for about 3 weeks as I try to prepare for my 1st visit to Accra. Although it is my 1st vist to Accra, I have been to Ethiopia, Cairo, Dominican Republic and Mexico several times. I plan to be in Ghana for about a week. I do not see much info on renting a car and driving in Accra and Ghana. It cant be worst than the DR, there are no road rules there. I have to be independently mobile. Are there any American car rental companies at the airport or arround. It does not have to be American, I just want unlimited mileage as I will be exploring the entire coast by day and mongering when I return in the evening. Does a car get you perks or preferntial treatment with the ladies? Are there any pretty decent hotels in the city of Accra in the $50-60 USD a day range. I have a female friend that I have corresponded with to start but I will fine time to break away to see how the trade differes from my other exploits. Friend want me to stay in Legon area. From looking at the Google earth map this appears to far from the action of the city for me. Looks like college area, to much work! I could be wrong feel free to correct me. I am a Black American so I am sure I will not be as easily identifiable as a tourist. But I am sure it has its plusses and minuses. Feel free to elaborate . Maybe because the most consider a car an useless hobby tool. There are already so many occasions trekking the walk-side, going into a club or a bar, strolling through the maket place, burning on beach. Different is if you want to be independently mobile for your own. Taxi is very very ductile and adattable to the need of the fickle tourists that you can even pray a driver to drive slow along street, to stroll and invite girls on the way to get in. He will be happy to serve you this way.

My God:what do you want more? Do you really want to fuck 16 different women/day? Remember that in spite of your look the only your problem will be to try to dodge the most of the girls you will meet along your staying in Ghana. Do you know that it will unpossible for you to consume a drink for your own, to dine alone, to stroll without receiving eyes flashes every 10 metres?

To be a Black American in Ghana is like to be a White American in Ireland.
The only real emotion might be the visit of the coastal castles that sound as Ausschwitz or Dachau for Jews. They have emotioned me too.
People will discover your identity at your second expressed word or anytime you will not be able to understand their broken or anyway from that kind of shirt or jean or shoe that it is not imported in Ghana but they have already seen only to Americans. Even the way how they walk and you walk will put you in evidence. At the moment of eating you risk to be the only black guy around having difficulties to eat with your hands.
As you say, it will have advantages and disadvantages but it is not Ghana the country where a particular look, a way to say, behave, move, walk, a shirt, a car might have a positive or negative influence on the sexual succes of your journey!

Thank you for information Roman Guy. Car is not a hobby tool for me. As I said I enjoy seeing the country, life style and culture by day, thus the desire for a car. The hobby you speak of is only part time with me, in the evenings. :-) Being eyed like a rock star is not a problem to me. If I were lucky I should have this problem all the time. It is not any different from most of the poorer countries. Fickle, hmmmmmmm, not quite, not me anyway.

Very perceptive of you picking up on the Cape Coast Black thing (Ausschwitz or Dachau for Jews) this is the #1 reason for the trip at lease for a day visit. The drive back to Accra will get the emotion out of my system and by night I will be back to hobby. To your point I am sized up in most countries before my first breath, but I have the ability to discourage most with a look if not interested. They eat with their hands in Ethiopia also , so it is not new. I simple don't eat! well only at a minimum. My diet diversity leaves much to be desired. In most contries a car is not a asset to the trade, thats why it is usually parked doing hobby time. Thanks for your perception and information

Owning a car in Ghana is something I will never do and I certainly won't get an internatioal drivers license and rent one either. Many locals and expats have one but, they have to gate it up not only at night, but when not is use for very long. Really, don't do it! If you've ever had advice you will rgret not taking, its this. I've driven in DR myself; there's no comparison. You can stand in a pothole in the roads, if you call them roads. The police at night will bribe you and the rental car company will find more causes to rip you off. It won't help you pick up women. The problem in Africa isn't meeting women, its braking away from them. Remember this: Don't expect an African to be even close to on-time EVER!

Global Citizen

Griot,

Owning a car in Accra is not only necessary but definitely an advantage.

1) if you taxi everywhere, you are sure to get ripped off at some point - if not by the driver who will charge too much, then by armed robbers who jack taxis and pick up unsuspecting passengers (especially at night)

2) if you rent or drive your own car, it is much more convenient. When I first came to Ghana I didn't have a car and soon realized I absolutely must get one. Driving your own car at night is also safer as if you get into a dangerous situation, you just drive and are not dependent on a taxi driver.

If you do want to rent a car in Accra, get a SUV - a bit more expensive (about $100/day) but well worth it especially if you are going to be traveling around the coast. Roads here aren't as bad as they were a few years ago but an SUV makes driving that much better.

For picking up action, having a nice car or SUV may be detrimental as the girl will think you're loaded and ask or expect more. The advantage is if you're driving at night and get stopped by a checkpoint, the police will treat you better. If you're asked for money by the police, just say "sorry not tonight" and they will let you go.

When driving yourself in Accra, you have to watch out for traffic lights - if you even run a yellow light, the police will stop you and tell you they will take you to court and fine you a ridiculous amount (up to 15 million cedis) - best to buy your way out of it by telling them you want to be their friend. 100 to 200 thousand cedis will work.

PM me for a private car rental company with no mileage charge.

GCPLEASE it is not longer 100 or 200 Thousand. It's now 10 or 20 Ghana Cedis.
But the value is the same. :-) Around 20$

You get cheap car at the African Regent Hotel. No mileage within the Tema Accra Area.

Thanks Greetsie for the info. Next rookie question is how do they know the car has been out of Accra / Tema area. Do they only look at the miles. Everyday I will go on day trips in a different direction from the city.

Thanks

I will be in Accra in 3 weeks. I have read about taxis being stopped and people robbed. I want to carry as much cash as possible so I do not need thw AMT's. Whats your advice.

Also do the hotels like Penta and Blue Royal charge a large tax on their rooms?? I know in Dominican Republic the tax there is like 23%.

Any advice on cheap hotels who have a room safe??

Thanks,

The hotels you mentioned charge $69 net a night, most prices will be quoted to you net so don't worry. If you do stay in Osu just be prepared to be hustled wherever you go, in my opinion there are better places to stay where you get a better experience rather than Osu where all tourists are seen as legitimate targets by all the flotsam that gravitates there from Nigerians, Ivorians and any others who want whats in your wallet. Enjoy.

I know this issue has been discussed here before, but I wonder if someone has recent info on visa regulations.

I would like to travel to Ghana in the beginning of December, but I have no chance to send my passport to the nearest embassy before that as I'm currently traveling Eastern Europe. I need my passport here weekly. Any recent info about chances to get visa on arrival at Accra airport?

I got an EU passport and the required proof of yellow fever vaccination. There is no Ghana consulate in my home country.

Hope to get some recent info, a report with pics will definitely follow if I ever get there.

Thanks Bloke, what other area's do you suggest I stay in? What hotels in that area? How much for a room with AC. I really am worried about security, I don't want to carry money around with me but I don't trust leaving it in the room either. I plan to book a room online for 3 or 4 days then search for a better deal when I am there. A room safe would be great!

I also read some people say I need my passport with me all times. I am not comfortable with this for the mear fact it could get lost or stolen, I hope a photocopy will do.

If you do not like to stay in Osu, go to Adabraka. In Niagara Hotel the room rate is about 50 USD: helpful staff, very girl friendly, first class restaurant (Lebanese), excellent security!

In terms of passports you can read about different experiences in this section! However, I was checked more than once during nighttime and the police officers always insisted in seeing the original document!

Its funny when I traveled to Philippines and Dominican Republic, I always got online and chatted with many girls trying to setup meetings before I got there. But once I was there rarely did I ever meet any of those ladies. I just trolled around town and usually found everything I needed.

Now I am going to Accra for 3 weeks, do you suggest trying to meet ladies online before or should I just beat the streets trolling as I did before??

I understand OSU is the area for clubs and bars where pro's hang out but really I prefer the sweet ladies who are not pro's and just want to fuck and make a little money on the side. Usually 3 or 4 times aday is plenty for me anyway LOL.

If anyone see's a guy with a light blue tint coming off the plane its probably me because "Viagra" I never leave home without it LOL

Alew:

Since virtually all girls you will meet in Ghana are available for you, there is absolutely no need to contact somebody prior to arrival!

Actually I tend to discourage you from searching such internet contacts as most cuties will ask you directly for sending some money - and this before you have entered into Ghana ("not too much, my love! A little money would be fine, dear! I only need 300 USD to pay the rent, my brothers school fee and my mom's medicine!")! So, better don't waste your time and save your money! IMHO, of course!

I have a complete agriement with Hesekiel.
Ghana is the country where to go with no address or phone number in own pockets and even trying to forget any eventual previous friendship - if one had been there before.

It is even useless to fit a date in the morning for the evening because in the elapsed time you will meet a dozen of new girls.

Me, I remember that I always arrived at 7-8 pm with a collection of 15 new phone numbers belonging to the girls I met during the day. In the while I was dialling the numbers in the evening, I always knew the flame for that night and to call the others was useless.

In Ghana I have learnt not to pick up any girls if I am not sure to be able to fuck them within 2 hours otherwise you risk to be overbooked, you risk an overfload!

What you can do is to divide the day into two rounds: morning turn and eve turn. Go out by day and find your lover for a "siesta" joint. Go out again in the evening for your "toda la noche" match!.

For the morning tour I find very interesting to pick up one of the numerous vendors - girls carring loads on their heads - when they have already sold the most of their goods. Buy the rest - it doesnt matter what - and invite her for a shower in your place.

Yes you can - when you enter immigration hall, don't line up - stay to the left glass wall and walk straight through - someone will stop you and ask you what you're doing and just say you need a visa on arrival. Turn an immediate left at the end of the glass wall and turn into the other side of the glass wall. Go to room 2, knock, and enter. Tell the man sitting there you need a visa on arrival and he will give you a form to fill. I can't remember if you need a passport picture so better bring one. The cost is $100 and you'll get an entry stamp with a handwritten number of days you're allowed to stay.

I am a part time translator for airport immigration when they catch people with fake documents so am very well versed in their process.

The introduction site you are likely referring to is Afrointroductions. In truth, the site is overrun by Nigerian and now, Ghanian scammers using model's pics. If you do meet someone online who's not a full-blown scammer, she will want to meet you at the airport and guard you like you have a key to Ft Knox. She will ask for cellphones, clothes, cameras, and even playstations for her family for you to bring with you. Her family is the source of the pressure. If you go to play, once in Ghana, all these contacts are complete nuisances (sp).

If you are seeking an African women, stay in her country! (that goes for Russian, Filipina, Brazilian, and Chinese), even the lonleys in college in the US are opportunists looking for marriage which will net them most of your possessions before she moves on in 2-3 years. But absolutely, I'm almost convinced that Nigerian, Ghanian, or Kenyans are culturally incompatible with Americans and Canadians. I've worked on several of these "Mail Order Brides" divorce cases and there is a general M.O: After two years of open activities promoting self -interest, they leave, either count on the spouse (foreign men are actually worse) to not officially withdraw their sponsorship at INS, claim abuse, or have another man lined up to remarry upon divorce (Only the 1st two methods will keep them from being deported if the condition is not removed from the Residency - Green Card). The biggest reason for foreign marriage is that American women are generally unmarriable in your opinion. Better take a chance on an unknown than take a risk on someone you already consider a known. If these girls treat local men terrible, when you, Mr 44 YO, marry and bring Ms 23 YO to US, you become a local and will have to fight her whole family from taking what you've worked for all your life.

I've NEVER been asked which cultures are most compatible but the only foreign African marriage that I see that are consistantly successful are to the Zambian women. I'm no expert and that statement is not in cement. These women are close to their families. I have news for you. These smiling friendly familiy members that sometimes you consult ARE the source of the pressure for her to 'dump" you and take your money.

I stand my my statement about not renting a car in Ghana.

The type of girl you refer to probably has no regular job, is net savvy and spends an inordinate amount of time on line where she learns through experience how to "handle" western men looking for African action. These are the ones to avoid. I disagree completely with your generalisation regarding most African ladies. The types that one meets on the net are not a fair reflection of the rest, the vast majority of whom seldom if ever visit an internet cafe. Many that do go, go to check mail, there are very very few who spend all their time trawling on line for some American sucker to come their way that they might be able to fleece, but these are the ones that you will meet via afrointroductions etc so just forget sites like this.
The best advice is simply to go out there and go walkabout, have some experiences and don't go to the obvious hooker joints (Macumba/Jokers etc as far as Accra is concerned).
I have been fortunate enough to meet some genuinely fantastic girls in Ghana any of whom would be wife material if I was that way inclined (which I am not!), but if you want to meet these types, you have to do more than scratch the surface, they are actually all around you...not in the nightclubs.

Do you know what she and her family really think of you? They do know what you are doing in her country and it is you who are fooling yourselves. Do you know that the family has to allow her to date you? Again, she is "wife material" while you are married living in her country as long as you have a barganing chip. Even if you live in her country, she will change. Bring her home with you and just see what happens in 2. 67 years. You are a feelingless entity to the family; a money machine; you mean nothing to her or her family. When you marry her, you marry the family and again, they do know why you are in their country.

It is life my friend, not a conmpetition to see how much you can get for how little, we are human after all and life in Africa is tough enough so I am very happy to share a little though I have not gone so far as to get well acquainted with extended family, that is something I avoid at all costs, I have moved on before that becomes an issue normally.
To Slowalk, this is an interesting topic for debate in fact, are women the world over not pretty much the same? They all want something from us they just go about it in different ways. Western women like to milk us but we bow and accept it as part of life so what is the difference!!! I still disagree with your generalised view, what about those girls who do not have extended family? Maybe we have just had different experiences from which to base our judgements

Hi Slowalk,

Never ever fall for the "Mail order Brides", Bloke knows the real deal, go to Ghana and take a walkabout, the ladies are everywhere, and stay away from the club scene for better quality shagging.

What about Liberians? sounds like you have had a bad experience with the African ladies. I don't understand why the extended family would pressure their daughter to dump their only "real" source of income??? You know, there's NOT many opportunities in Africa. Yes, if you become involved with with an African lady, you must understand that her family will look to you for financial help, what are their choices??? What you have to do is to put them on a reasonable budget, encourage them to be productive, and they in turn will take care of you.

Fair enough, no doubt! Actually it is again the old and fruitless discussion about pros and non-pros! Since mongerers like us have to pay anyway (either a "service fee", or "taxi money", cellphone, dinner etc.) it makes no big difference to pick either a "pro" from Macumba, or an "ordinary girl" from Danquah Circle. As the wise philosopher Ekspat said: "pay and play, that's ok!" Indeed, that's life! :)

Thanks a million to Bloke, Hesekiels, slowalk and others for your insight on african ladies. Very interesting. I did learn first hand these same lessions when I was in Dominican Republic. While there I met a Judge from Ft Laurdale, he was a regular there for 10+ years. When asked if he ever got interested in just one lady there, he replied "only for sex" he told me that the ladies there knew nothing about world affairs or really anything about ecomonys etc. And after sex there was nothing you would have in common with her. He said they all only watch cartoons on TV and care less about anything else. This brought a rush back to my mind because everytime when I would pickup a sweet girl there, they always came to my apartment and turned on the cartoon channels LOL

My plan now is to troll the streets and look for non pros. I will change hotels often as suggested earlier.

No problem with luggage on STC, though if you have a lot (how much do you need??) you have to pay a small charge. Locals pack all kinds of stuff including their dishes!!
In Kumasi I recommend Kumasi Catering Resthouse. It is central, accomodation is in chalets, it has large grounds and is secure plus there is an excellent restaurant on the grounds too. They charge around $25 per night for a chalet with bathroom etc.
In Cape Coast, Savoy hotel is good, with choice of room with fan or aircon and again is reasonable, I paid 18 cedis for a room there in October. It is also quite central. Don't know about Tema and I wouldn't bother, it's very industrial.
If you are heading out west I recommend you go to Busua, 25km futher than Takoradi, lovely small beach resort and stay at Alaska Beach in a chalet right on the beach for around $20. Best to BYO lady wise though if you are in need there is a young rasta guy by the name of Phillip who hangs around and he can sort you out a local girl if you need. The place is quite lively at weekends but quieter midweek.
I have also been in the DR, had a great time down on the Samana peninsula staying a tiny palce right on the tip but there was a local disco and I found a gem I hung out with there, pic attached...fond memories!
However Ghana is much more accessible for me and I think the girls are much more enthusiastic...have fun!

You may want to try Vienna City/Roses Guest House in Kumasi, rooms go for about $40 US. The have excellent food, music, poll tables, dance floor and lots of ladies on the weekends - very few pros. Just down the road is another Club called Kirava, it's the best Club I've been to in Ghana.

If the site you are referring is Afrointroductions, then, the white girls from Ghana are model's photos from someone in either Nigeria or Ghana.

We're curious why the Ivory Coast women are so much better looking yet, we don't see them?

Again, my firm is seeing more and more of these international bride / groom divorces. You will meet her in Ghana after sending gobs of money to her, dump her immediately because you find something better, decide to bring Ms Perfect home, then in two years, give her half and pay both your attorneys.

I have a better idea. Make a prenuptial contract, get a fiance visa (don't marry in Ghana), wait as long as you can to marry her in Vegas, get her conditional residency, then after two years, tell her she can visit her family, serve her at the attorney's office saying its for INS, send her home for 30 days, revoke your sponsorship at INS, finalize divorce. Cancel her ticket.

This is the kind of plans they make with each other so, I think its only fair.

There are hardly any whites in Ghana outside of Accra, God Squad missions or the mining areas. I have travelled for days in Ghana without seeing a white face. A white face is so rare in some parts, ie the Northern region or north Volta that kids were calling out "father" when they saw me. I was pretty confused until I asked my Ghanaian friend who explained the reason being is they associate a white face with a priest as that is the only contact they have ever had with a white man!

I am planing to go there in december. Just alot of hassles getting a visa here, where i am at and time is also a factor.

I will visit Ghana in few days and I am interesting in meeting girls with huge breast.
Which region or city in Ghana is best for that searching?

What sort of dress is preferred in that region/city: traditional or modern?

Thanks for answers.

Hi L:

Girls with huge tits you find all over the country! When you enter into Ghana you see them already at the airport! :) Wear some comfortable clothes, I prefer modern which is perfectly accepted!

Enjoy your trip!

Guys,

I need some help. I am considering spending one year in Africa to do a university project. I want to go to Ghana or Uganda, but can't deside which one is the best.

I have been to Ghana several times, but never been to Uganda or East Africa.

I already know that meeting girls in Ghana is very easy, but what about comparing these two countries when it comes to girls and living in general.

Any advice would be much appreciated..

Ok so as an american and a columbian could anyone go through the immigration hall to get the stamp in ghana? How long will the visa be good for? What about a mulientry visa? I am planing to go there in december. Just alot of hassles getting a visa here, where i am at and time is also a factor. I would much rather get a visa upon arrival then deal with many other personalities. So for this reason I would much rather get a visa when at the airport there.

If your passport is from a country where there is a Ghanaian mission, then you could be refused a Visa on Arrival. They have been turning back Americans and Europeans for not having a visa ! But, since this is Ghana, some grease will help in case they do turn you away.

You cannot get a multiple entry for VOA. A VOA is just an entry stamp and not really a visa. Once you're in the country, go to immigration HQ and you can apply for a re-entry stamp.

On Ghana versus Uganda, I can't speak for Ghana, but Kampala is a decent place to live. It's a small but relatively friendly city. The sex industry is less developed in Uganda, but there are many beautiful women of all shapes and sizes, and finding eager ladies shouldn't be too difficult. Certainly there are always lots of women at universities looking for "sponsors."

Hahaha this is a joke right?
Try Dunkwa, apparently all the women who live there have gargantuan breasts and would prefer it if you wore just a loincloth for easy access. Let us all know how you get on.

Let’s be a little circumspect about specifics in our reports for a little while, especially as the football tournament is imminent. I am anticipating that there would have been a budgetary allocation for law enforcement to deal with “sex tourism”. They may be looking for heads to justify their existence. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to spoil the game, but suggest we may need to err on the side of caution on the forum to avoid problems. IMHO.

GCThanks for the info. Finally got my flight booked and I'm arriving to Accra on Sunday. My first Ghana-report and pics will follow in a week!

I've been reading this thread for ages, but still got few questions:

- How are the Internet facilities outside Accra? Any places to upload photos in smaller cities such as Takoradi, Busua, Wa?

- Is it more difficult to get normal girls e.g. street vendors outside Accra & Kumasi? I would expect that bigger cities have more open-minded girls like it happens to be in Europe.

- Many people have described Axim Beach as a nice hideout, what's the nearest city to catch some company before heading there? Do I need to get one already in Cape Coast? What are my chances in smaller cities such as Elmina?

If someone is around Accra, Takoradi, Cape Coast or Busua during the following week, it would be nice to meet up for a pint and chat?

Regards,

Jalle

internet outside of accra is going to be available in places like takoradi or wa as you mentioned though expect very slow speeds. no internet in busua and it is a village not a city! elmina is a small town not a city but it is only 10km from cape coast which is not really a city either. accra, kumasi and possibly tamale are the only places in ghana that can realistically be described as cities.
of course it wil be more difficult to chat up street vendors outside accra...because there will be far far fewer of them!
not that i have been there but i understand the africa beach hotel in takoradi is a place where you could find semi pros hanging out if you have no luck with the street vendors!
cape coast is a university town so if you are there for any time you should not have a problem hooking up.
as i have posted before, and you have probably read, you can hook up if you are in busua by chatting to phillip the rasta guy on the beach, he will sort you out with a local woman.
hope this is helpful.

To answer some questions...The Volta Region is very rural and rather remote, I would not recommend visiting for the sole purpose of chasing women (though it is possible of course) but if your interests extend beyond the bedroom then there is much to see there. The girls photographed were in Accra, Ho (Volta Region) and on the beach in the western region. All regular girls who I spent more than just a one nighter with, maybe bought dinner, bought one of them some clothes etc etc so treated more like a gf than anything else. I prefer that type of relationship to a more business/no strings oriented one that others may prefer and I if I find a babe I really like, I have no problem keeping in touch on a periodic basis (not too close as you have to be able to learn to fend off the expected requests for all sorts of stuff) as they are always keen to see me again!

Buduburam is a refugee camp located 44 kilometers (27 miles) west of Accra, Ghana. Opened by the UNHCR in 1990, the camp is home to more than 35,000 refugees from Liberia who fled their country during the Liberian Civil War (1989–1996), and the Second Liberian Civil War (1999–2003). The camp is served by the UNHCR as well as Liberian and international NGO groups and volunteer organisations.

As refugee camps go, Buduburam is a very unusual place, there is little employment, no pensions or allowances, about 10% or less get a contribution intermittently from relatives and friends in Liberia or the USA but many have created small businesses and shops so the place looks busy and attractive and this does help the money to be spread around.

But the general living conditions in the camp are still very poor. The population level, being much higher than was originally expected means that many sleep in the one room which is much smaller than we are used to. Inadequate wash houses and you have to pay, open drains in the streets. Electricity supply only available to the few who can afford the connection fee. No running water - this is delivered by tanker, if you don’t have the money you may collect from the lake which is unhygienic, or wait till tomorrow.

I meet them in Kumasi - the Liberians that is, a Liberian Chief and his household, I helped him and he helped me. We would travel Buduburam sometimes to see friends.

Going to Buduburam ALONE would be dangerous! Although there are some very beautiful ladies there.

Hope this helps.

TD:

Great information, indeed! However, I hope that nobody seriously considers to go to a refugee camp just to pick a cuty! IMHO that would be simply needless since there are thousands of others options in Accra, Kumasi etc.!

Stay safe!

Whilst in the western region recently I was given a tour of one of the local villages illicit moonshine distillation activities. Called "akpeteshie" it is distilled from palm wine, is incredibly potent and the distillation procedure is carried out in the bush for two reasons, one to avoid detection and two because of the tendency for something to go wrong resulting in a major explosion. See attached pics

I remember one time at a local chief's house in the Volta region drinking akpeteshie and playing with one of the chief's grand daughters... I had probably 5 "tots" of it and it was quite fun.

I suppose too much would be a half a bottle or more. There was a news article a while back about some guy who drank a full bottle and died.

Personally, I like the stuff once in a while.

Whilst in the Western Region I met up with some friends, we arranged to meet at a place called Ellis Hideout on Butre Beach, not far from Busua. The beach here is very nice and if you are into surfing, the biggest waves I have seen in Ghana too. However to get here you need to take a tro tro or taxi from Agona Junction and it is quite a way a long a dirt track, then walk up the beach from the village.
This village itself was a little scary, I saw more than one person with extreme elephantitis or something similar, the locals like to shit on part of the beach, hygiene in general very poor here as is the community, this was extreme poverty.
Anyway, there was a funeral going on in the village this particular weekend so they were non stop partying, with a sound system to boot. The people were friendly as ever, I met the local chief whilst there.
