I will be visiting Cameroon soon, mostly Douala. I'm a 60 year old guy, fit and in good shape. I'm wondering what are the chances of a guy my age hooking up with some hot girls while I'm there. Thanks.You can book Residence La Falaise, Akwa Palace as well as Hotel Bon Sejour Mirabel. I never stayed at the latter but it seems far cheaper than La Falaise. The three are in the Akwa district and this is the epicenter of the action. Ibis and Meridien are less well situated. All are girl-friendly, although once at Akwa Palace I had a (jealous female) receptionist insulting my girl for showing up in mini-skirt. That was over a decade ago.
You could for instance book Bon Sejour in two booking, one for the 1st 3 days, one for the rest of the stay. Plus you book La Falaise for the whole stay minus the first three days. If Bon Sejour is ok you cancel La Falaise. If not you cancel the 2nd Bon Sejour booking. You get the idea. But if you can afford it I'd go for La Falaise for comfort and because their staff is competent.

The best area for girls in Yaounde is, well, Yaounde. Go to the next bigger carrefour and you will find the "snacks" , a bar with music and food stalls out front. Thursday to Sunday nights they will be heaving, and you can sit away from the loud music, which in a boite de nuit is harder to do. The most dignified boites with slightly less loud music are the one in the Hotel des Deputes, which recently reopened after a major and quite tasteful refurbishment, and the one in the Hotel Mont Febe. The latter is a bit too quiet for my taste, with hardly any patrons other than two working girls and my party the last time I went. Or get a car and hunt the girls in the street. It's difficult to have things organized in the Cameroons at the best of times, let alone when weather is bad. I never bothered much about the weather as I stayed mostly in town. Rain was never so torrential as to prevent making the trip to the next disco.

Only strip club Gogo Dance had more reasonable prices, charging 2500 CFA for the same Castel beer. One girl asked me to buy her a Red Bull & vodka, costing an astronomical 9000 XAF. Hell, no!!!
Cameroon has by far the highest drinks prices of any of the 31 black African countries I've visited. Why are drinks prices so extravagant? I have no idea. Have venue owners ever heard of profit maximization? I doubt it. I sipped my beers, never having more than 1 drink per visit (except Gogo Dance), no matter how long I stayed. They sure would have made more money off me by offering half priced drinks. Anyway, for a party monger, the heinously expensive drinks are a major deterrent! :mad:
Language
Cameroon is mainly a francophone country, and Douala lies squarely within the francophone part of the country. Despite that, English speakers are very well represented on the Douala P4P scene. I met quite a few native English speakers, who may also speak French with an adorable accent. Plenty of francophone girls speak (some) English as well. Of the francophone black African countries, Cameroon is probably the most accessible for English speakers.

You can still have a lot of fun in Cameroon, but keep on hunting in discos and hotspots mentioned below. Take care to the dating sites like afrointro, it's full of scamers, and most of girls are looking for a sucker to rip off. Try to target the "second choice" girls on this website, they are often more honest and friendly than the "good looking" ones. Anyways, most of girls in this country are vicious and annoying, you will quickly experience that.

I'm sorry the Cameroons didn't work for you. Still, your travails will not have been in vain. They will incentivate me to give Uganda or Kenya a try. It's probably better you couldn't go to Equatorial Guinea. I was warned about not going there when I was in the Cameroons. It's a country spoilt by the oil industry and paranoid with foreign interference (remember Mark Thatcher). Gabon would have been a better fallback.
Of course, if you skipped Douala and Yaoundé to concentrate on the English-speaking enclaves I'd say your disappointment was not unexpected. I tried Limbé and gave up on it after 2 days.

Further plans to visit DRC and Nigeria.

Hot bodies abound in Cameroon. Pretty faces are harder to come by. As has been noted, Cameroonian girls will seldom talk $$$ in advance. I gave my girls 20000 CFA (ST) & 30000 CFA (LT) "for the taxi".
Drinks Prices
In clubs Les Saints-Pres & Opium, a small Castel beer costs a ridiculous 4000 CFA. Cabarets (live music) were no cheaper (5000 CFA in Opium; 4000 XAF in Le Palais). Only strip club Gogo Dance had more reasonable prices, charging 2500 CFA for the same Castel beer. One girl asked me to buy her a Red Bull & vodka, costing an astronomical 9000 XAF. Hell, no!!!
Cameroon has by far the highest drinks prices of any of the 31 black African countries I've visited. Why are drinks prices so extravagant? I have no idea. Have venue owners ever heard of profit maximization? I doubt it. I sipped my beers, never having more than 1 drink per visit (except Gogo Dance), no matter how long I stayed. They sure would have made more money off me by offering half priced drinks. Anyway, for a party monger, the heinously expensive drinks are a major deterrent!.You guys just killing the business for others. Stop giving them that much money. A generous amount is around 10000 cfa, you can give an extra 5000 cfa if you want things like anal. And those prices are even to spend the night.

Because I hadn't been and some French guys claim it's Paradise. I went during the World Cup and so kept comparing it with 2014 when I had a great time in Rwanda / Burundi / Uganda. If I had just been travelling around for the sake of it maybe I would have given it more time. I do regret not visiting Kribi but was so unimpressed by Limbe and Douala and the rain that I just cut my losses. Also they speak decent French but pidgin English. Next year AFCON is there but. . . Madagascar have qualified and it's looking good for Uganda & Kenya, so I'll probably watch it from one of those.

Alex.I was there several years ago and lots of girls around Independence Square.
I was staying in Akwa palace, where I met a lovely 30 year old Lady (very respectful, not a prostitute). In December 2021, I had to go to Kribi. Cameroonian Beach resort. I stayed in Tara Plage. The place was not really nice and overpriced. I was drinking in the hotel restaurant till it closed. On the side note: I'm sure I got coronavirus there! I had fake negative certificate to get on the flight home but just after I arrived home I got sick. I registered on pcr test which came back. Positive. I was sick just two days, nothing serious. Raised temperature and headache. Than just running nose for couple of days. I'm double vaxxed.

It is not advisable to just hang around after dark in those small African places without African guy. Fortunately I had a driver who was willing to go to get some beer on my account. We've been drinking at some place and I told him that I want some girl. Easy as that he asked me which one. I pointed at one girl and he immediately stand up and ask her directly. I did not end up sampling the local cuisine in Cameroon due to a busy itinerary and severe jet lag, but it seems like a goldmine for the adventurous. Tinder is incredibly productive and numerous matches were all but running to my hotel. Use a bit of French, but many younger people also have English ability in Douala and Yaoundé.
