I'll be going to Dar for the first time later this month and I was wondering about which hotels would be the best to stay at? I'the prefer to be near the action. I've RTFF and know about Q bar but are there any other hotels which will allow me to bring guests? Also contacts for any girls or badoo links would be appreciated. I have returned from Tanzania and wanted to give you a report on what I found.
Dar:
Things did and't really go to plan regarding mongering. I was busier than expected with work which meant I had limited time and the hotel I was staying in was and't girl friendly which limited options. I did go to a couple of bars in the Kawe, but it was mid-week and very quiet there. However, the girls serving in the bars were very friendly and there is potential in future visits to see what they have to offer. Everything broken. Arusha is better. I took boda boda and see all clubs with all elephant size girls. Luck I lived in Mombasa so I went back. But Arush is not a bad place. This time I decided to focus on my trip to Dar on nightclubs experience.

I insisted to pick girls from Qbar night club as I'm new in such type of mongering and wanted to do it in a location make me feel safe, but for sure will try other clubs in Masaki.

If I go to Dar es Salaam, I have always booked myself to Q-bar. It is cheapest (at least it was) in Ouster Bay area, where most of the action for musungu mongerers takes place. Just came back from Zanzibar. A small paradise near the Tanzanian coast. I was accommodated in the northern part of the Island, somewhere between Kendwa and Nungwi villages, an area full with resorts, beach bars and places where to go out. What is interesting that almost every day there is a party somewhere, where you can find both tourists and local girls. Usually there is an entrance fee, which can vary from 2 to 10 USD. First evening I went out in a kind of Disco named Cocobello, a meeting place where you can find quite nice local ladies, very happy to have relations with foreigners, specially with white men, and easygoing. Zanzibar was a cool town, at least architecturally. Easy to walk around and snap photos. Not too many problems with locals, a few that prey on tourists but harmless. This is the most touristed city I visited in Africa with white folks bumbling around everywhere. (I guess including me). Plenty of good hotels, a few upscale bars and some decent food places. I stayed in Old Town exclusively except for one longer walk way down past the the ferry / pier where things got more local. Quickly. Easy to get lost down alleys and a few moments of panic as if you were in Nairobi your ass would quickly be handed to you if you were caught alone in the maze of streets. But no problem here.
I didn't see any working girls, but then I wasn't looking. I didn't go looking for any girl bars either. But, it's a nice town to take a break for a few days from the rest of Africa and pretend you're not in it.
Dar es Salaam was a dump. Literally.
I unfortunately took advice from board to stay where 'the action is' - at QBar. The rooms are sort of elongated concrete cubes, with plyboard wardrobe, cheap furniture, and just felt like a third-world like a prison cell. The tiny air conditioner took a full 5 HR to cool this room, but thankfully once on. It doesn't get shut off when you leave the room. There was absolutely NO wifi in my room (less than 0. 3 consistently). Loading a web page was nearly impossible, and Skype just a dream. I asked for help from reception dude but didn't seem to give a toss.
At night the girls come into the club downstairs, but not till later - 11:30 pm or 12 am. I went down two nights and had some (inexpensive) beer and looked. But each time a girl would approach me their BO was just so strong I couldn't take sitting next to them. This was a consistent problem for me in every African country I visited (except Ethiopia). The girls (and people in general) just smelled so rank. It was impossible to monger. Which was weird, as sometimes it was very upscale families or couples dressed nicely that smelled the worst.

Just left QBar on the third day and went to Double Tree and had excellent experience with good pool, clean. Comfortable rooms. Went to George and Dragon but was closed on a Monday night.
Went to 'the mall' at The Slip? LOL. Not exactly a mall like you would think of it, some souvenir shops, a grocery store etc. Coco Beach was just an average local beach. Didn't see much else that would bring me back.
So. No shagging in Dar es Salaam either, but can't say I feel I missed anything as was totally turned off by the girls. Made Ethiopia look like a mongers paradise compared to these two places. Ethiopia for being a dusty (endless) slum at least had doable (non stinking) girls in the plentiful massage parlors.

If you're in Dar for a short visit and can't speak Swahili or English go there. There's massage parlors all over the place, There's Q-bar itself there's the corner by the Q-bar where you get similar quality of chicks for cheaper there's Elements and the other club right across the street and there's Coco beach.
There's Local oriented spots in Sinza and elsewhere but for the Muzungu this is the place to be.

In reality in Dar Oyster-bay area is not a place where there is much actions!.To someone who has knowledge of TZ or speaks Swahili, Oyster bay is way overpriced especially the MP's in the area and the bar girls in Elements but for a newbie with a Southeast Asian mentality of being needed to pointed to a brothel that's where the Q comes in, There's usually someone acceptable there day or night. But yeah I wouodn't stay in that overpriced for what you get place either.
I'm not one the TZ board much but I don't see many alternatives posted and for me getting pussy in Nai and Mombasa is easier to get than Dar for street pick ups from non pros.
Maybe it's just me.

Poor to working class people skimp on Deodorant mainly because if you work hard outside in Africa all day your deodorant will likely fail anyway. It seemed like a good central point with decent rooms (from the misleading pics) and there would be wild action downstairs each night. For those who used to monger in Asia. I was imagining an upscale Walkabout or upscale Grace Hotel (with the disco still downstairs). I imagined sitting in my large (but still inexpensive) king room. Looking down at the girls in the center courtyard disco and pulling them up one at a time! It would be heaven!
I've gotten older, (as we all have, except you vampires) - in my 20's I was happy with fan-room, a tiny room with a working A/C was a dream. Now I really need comforts to feel I'm having a 'vacation' - I want the place to be at least as comfortable as my own house (which is pretty damn comfortable). I need stuff like:
- Internet that works consistently and more than 3 mb.
- A/C that gets cold.
- Hot water and preferably a bath tub.
- Decent food from hotel, or nearby.
- Pool always helps.
- A room that doesn't make me feel like I'm starring in 'locked up abroad'.
And I'll gladly pay the price for those comforts.
Qbar was not (in reality) as it appeared to be. There was no (and I mean NO) internet available in my room, the room was something you would find in Koh Kong Cambodia 20 yr ago, there was nothing around, and the girls were just not my scene downstairs. I don't enjoy sitting in the heat drinking beer looking at girls that are taller and stronger and sweatier than I am.
Now that I've read your post. I see where you're coming from, if you're looking for the absolute cheapest acceptable place close to what action there is. Then I can see why you're recommending this place.

Hilton is not really high class dude. It just has air condition that works, a bed that isn't a piece of foam, real security, room service, internet that will load webpages, and furniture that isn't made of plyboard.
Qbar is like a cheap Cambodian knocking shop room, concrete block, really dire furnishings, and under-powered AC with no internet. I don't need a 6 guys to carry me around town on a silver platter while girls wave fans over me and feed me cold grapes (tho that might be fun), just a basic level of comfort while I monger.
Why would I want to go on vacation and stay in an uncomfortable little cell. The price wasn't even all that different all things considered. And Doubletree had a nice pool. Where you could at least swim and pretend you weren't in a shithole town with girls that look like men.

Well so far things have not been going as planned think this is the first time I have ever had blue balls in an african country. Firstly my flight was delayed by several hours, when I arrived at Dar airport got the visa online which really speed up customs however when I went to buy a vodafone sim I discovered the sim card tray was damaged inside my phone which prevented me from buying a local sim in order to arrange an uber. Got the airport driver from $45 down to $30 which I know was far to much had no choice but to pay, plus I had to also buy a new phone at 250 k.
Good points got a great apartment just of coco beach for $28 per night using airbnb, very secure with aircon and everything is within walking distance girl friendly only thing it didn't have was a safe so I brought a travel safe with me and fastened it around the water heater problem solved. Also uber is another great way to travel here don't think I have paid more than 2000 shillings for a journey.
Abit of advice for finding girls online I would recommend not to start looking until you arrive here I made this mistake. I had about 20 girls wanting to meet on the day I arrived. When I refused or made excuses most blocked me or started mouthing off about sleeping around plus you also get the ones asking for gifts. Just blocked these ones and moved on.

Next door to the 'mall' - a mostly outdoor affair where you can bargain for souvenirs, and a grocery store in the basement to get affordable water / snacks.
Room service was only okay, and the croissants seemed to be made out of leather. But other than that. Great! I was just hysterically happy to have made it out of Qbar and back into the modern age of internet / comfort.
They also have plenty of taxis hanging out front if you want to hit some of the local bars. If I ever went back again (which I wouldn't) - I'd stay again.
I surely understand mongers who love to get the cheapest pussy they can, and a cheap hotel goes along with that. It seems pretty cool when you live in the west and can snag a shag for $5 or whatever. Nothing wrong with that at all. That used to be me!

Firstly Kenya, Nairobi especially is a hub for east Africa and you'd save some coin by going there first. Secondly depending on how long your trip is and the purpose Kenya does speak better english and has more non mongering activities. In some way Dar is "better" for mongering than Kenya, because it's cheaper and it's easier to find a girl quickly; except when it comes to apps. Neddy.I've stayed at the Strand Hotel that you recommended in Nairobi west. I've even stayed at the Hotel Lazinos right down the street which was cheaper although the Wi-fi didn't work. Lonely planet for me crappy guides really. AirBNB might be good option as 2 BR to share with a wingman for a long term stay than it would be ok budget wise for me.

I am at a tight accommodation budget. I strive to spend no more than 10 $ at the most if I am forced to 15 $ a day. What I use Jumia for? If I am new at a place you got to start somewhere and for that I like Jumia. It gives me pics, prices. Good for negotiations sometimes prices quoted in Jumia are higher than what you pay at the spot. Its trial and error. I usually book 3 nights max. And see how I like it. Then I immediately scout the area on foot for a better deal price / quality as a lot of quite nice guest houses are not on any platform at all. Thats my tactic. For example first time in Kabalagala I booked in Chez Johnson. Totally crap place. Tiny noisy room. Than I found the perfect room just a couple of 100 meters away. Cheaper. King size. Quiet and cheaper. 20 $ would be already way over my budget. In exceptional circumstances like when I pass through Nairobi yes. But I spend 8 months on the road a year on average. Staying ShaMool hotel in Sinza, $20 or 45 k a night, wifi, breakfast, mosquito net and aircon. Small basic room but I'm happy enough with it. Though you are 15-20 minutes to oysterbay, the main area which is long heading back in the evening.
To get a sim card you need the orginal passport with stamp. I went Tengo told to come back with passport, came back with passport and they now said I need a national ID but went to airtel next door and they just needed the passport. 1 k for sim, 15 k for 5 g data for 1 month and 5 k for 135 min and 300 texts for 1 month.
Getting around can use bolt and uber which is much cheaper than the price of flagging one but you generally need to call them to make sure there coming and know where you are or they sometimes don't come. From Sinza to oyster bay, 5 k in tuk tuk on uber.

3 k entry and 3 k beer. Just locals around here. I was only in Stonetown for a few days, went out looking one night, I walked around until I heard somewhere lively and the only place was tatu. Might be a little bit more expensive, but worth the money.
It used to be quite common in Dar that people going to the airport got fleeced by the cabbies.
They know you leave, they know you got all the stuff with you. So quite often all of a sudden a second guy gets in, threatens you and they will (if you are lucky) drop you off in a dark alley and speed off with all your stuff.
Even with Uber I would be cautious when having all my stuff with me. Your stuff (cam, laptop, phone, clothes etc.) might be worth more than a cab driver makes a year.

Food: plenty good places to eat around but I can reccomend wasington bar its very close to dar express bus terminal. Its cheap local places with many tables outside to sit and loud music on evenings its packed with locals. Cheap cold beer for 1. 5 k - 2 k for bottle or 700 shilings for soda and you can have many diffrent tasty food like chicken, beef, sausages or many others which they fry for you on fire for small prices between 2-5 k shillings with big portions. Arrived at dar from arusha it takes 12 hours. Planeed to stay few hundreds metres away from ambiance club at ikoma park motel but when I arrived it was closed security guard told me motel not working anymore. I promised a rapport on by brief visit to Dar Es Salam, and so here it is.
I took the advice received here and stayed in Oysterbay close to the Q bar, I only had two nights free and a long day before my flight. The first night I went early to the qbar and started having a beer, Met some guys who were staying in the hotel and an early drink turned into a good evening. The talent in the bar was very disappointing but I was assured better would come but started doubt.
At about 9.00 pm We were joined by a girl who had too many miles on the clock but seemed to know one of my companions. Anyway, stayed in Stone Town and Nungwi. Not much night life at either place. I did tours around the whole island. Definitely a beautiful place for tourism. No so much for mongering. When I'm stone town, I couldn't really find any nightlife there. There were a couple restaurants that had live music or DJs such as Instabul, Gerrys, and Cholo's. All the places were pretty empty. I was able to get some action from Tinder and Badoo. In Stone Town I met a 22 year old local girl from Baddo but she didn't have her ID so could not get into my hotel. In Nungwi, I actually spent two nights with a 27 year Hungarian tourist. Seemed to be at lot of Russian and eastern Europeans tourist on the island. But besides that, no other luck but enjoyed the beauty of the island..A very valuable and concise report. Its got me thinking about going to Dar next trip. Thank you!!

For sure to sneak into Kenya sooner or later...I have heard from Somaliland, that they say there that this virus is White Man virus, and Christian virus. Somaliland is muslim country. Mosks and streets are full because people think that only white and christians get the virus.
My (white and christian) friends there decided to leave because they were worried that they are to be blamed when people find out that also local people will get virus.

Either they had to pay an additional fee or they had to register the lady showing her ID card. Not all do have an ID and were not let in.Most of the time they do this for the tourists safety. They ask for IDs to make the ladies behave. If they have any bad intentions like stealing, they then don't think of it. Most of the mainland hotels are not complicated. I can confidently tell you this. Its the Zanzibar hotels which sometimes have such restrictions. If its on your visit list then make sure you know the best places to be.

Most of the time they do this for the tourists safety. .Very good procedure to leave ID, in Kenya girls without ID sometimes tend to steal or start a fight.
I used to photo the ID with my phone so if something missing I whatsapp the girl and remind her I know who is she.

Recently 50 truck drivers were tested positive at the Kenyan border, border is closed now.

Would Dar be recommended solely as a mongering destination from Europe or is it more of a passing through place or a place for those already there on business?
Is it now business as usual or has the virus negatively impacted mongering there?
Any regulars on the ground willing to meet up or DM and offer some guidance, show me the ropes?
Basically I just need some downtime to chill and pick up a few sexy girls a day in relative safety without a lot of effort or drama or needing any type of fixer.

I hope I will try to answer some questions regarding Dar, from the recent questions. I may have missed some stuff due to my limited time but just ask and I will answer. I will add up stuff I as I remember, also anyone feel free to add up other suggestions.
General info and tips.
- the below recommendations are areas with good security (even though TZ is generally peaceful) , close to one another and cheap to move around from your town centre hotel.
-the current situation is good for mongering because the bars are already running at full capacities. Universities are already open and this is generally a good thing because they are game changers for bar hunting. With university girls in the picture, the pros tend to be polite and even the prices become low. So this means there is vast of fish in the market including the uni girls who are always DTF depending on your game.
-Nowadays in most places you can pay with card swipe so don't worry about carrying too much cash all the time.
- Most of the night places are lit from thursdays but fridays and saturdays are the real deal. On mondays and tuesdays it is mostly until midnight. But some places are good so just ask a local and they will tell you if you really need to go out till late.
Night life & type of girls you will most likely find.
In Dar, there is alot of choices for spending your night and what you would expect to find. Most of the bars or clubs go till morning. In some you are most likely to find tourists, foreign workers, locals (local arabs, local indians, light skin Tanzanians, dark skin Tanzanians).
Review of Different areas + recommendation of current hot places for guaranteed action at night (first mentioned means highly recommended).
- Masaki / OyetserbaY. Highly recommended first place to try when you hit dar, it is famous for tourists. Has every service you want malls, beach, yacht club. At night, uni students, pros and everything can be found there. Has a mix of bargain places though for food and drinks. But overall its expensive especially hotels. (Samaki samaki, Mason (expensive), Havoc, Olive, Elements, buckets, Reggae bar (for marryjane lovers haha), Q bar (pros only though at this place)).
- Mikocheni. Area which is close to masaki and oysterbay with a bit similar services. From malls, food spots and very famous for massages (the happy ending ones). Their places are abit cheaper though. Places to go (Tips, Briques, Tripple 7.
- MBEZI beach. Close to the above areas also. Good services also cheap and you find mostly uni girls, locals sometimes foreigners places to go (Juliana, Busca la vida).
- SINZA. Mostly locals stuff here in terms of food and shopping activities. For girls then this is the pros headquarters, mostly cheap. Has a variety of choices. But mostly pro girls and semi pros. An exception is a new place called boardroom. Uni students like it. Places to go (board room, la chazz, elegance).
- MWENGE. Very close to sinza, this place is only mentioned because of the famous shopping village MLIMANY CITY. Has food joints, shopping malls, kid games etc. There is too much movement of foreigners also. Its very close to university of dar es salaam and ardhi university. So many people go there. Places to go (Samaki samaki (chain of the one in masaki, this one stays till midnight even on weekends), 5 N (Good for pros / semipros with mix of uni students)).
- POSTA. Abit expensive, food, drinks, hotels so as the girls if they are working. Places to go places to go (Rhapsody, High spirit) have not been there for a while now.
- Others. There are other good places with action example Tabata but only ideal if you have a local host / friend to go with, or you are foreigners but in a group of two or more. I say this because you may go there and find people yes and its actually fun but its almost only locals. You will feel awkward to be there alone.
Beaches.
- TIPS kidimbwi (a sister place of the TIPS mikocheni bar) is hot recently for tourists and locals. I even found tourists doing water activities like surfing, bringing dogs to beach etc.
- Yatch club masaki. Never been there but if you want yacht parties with girls, swimming by the beach etc check them out.
- If you want good beach place to stay, Water games, sleep and wake up to I would highly recommend you book kigamboni hotels or go to bagamoyo. There is good a mix of bargain and some expensive. But you will find your peace there.
- for the one asking for massage at beach, it may not be an activity which is common or listed but can be done. At your beach facing room if you want. . also if they can give you the person who does the massage. Some hotels already offer massage so its easier. If not then you have to bring your massage girl / guy there. Can give recommendation separately if needed.
Massage.
-there is everything you need, professional / therapy related with no happy endings to the ones with happy endings.
-most famous place and highly recommended is mikocheni area massage parlours UNIQUE, soft touch, full moon are some of the good ones featuring dark skinned and light skinned locals (caution: very hot girls) . There are even chinease, thai but I have never tried those so won't go deep into.
- Masaki / oysterbay and posta has such parlour too.
- some hotels already have their indoor massages. So check out on your booking but this is not that much ideal because you sometimes lack variety. At the parlour you find almost 10 - 30 girls at your disposal so you choose your taste (ofcoz you already know this).
Casinos.
- even though no one has spoken about this, but I am recommending you all to go into casinos if its your thing. Foreigners and workers of European, Chinese, Indians descents go there a lot. The local girls who serve there are very well selected to meet taste of most foreigners. From experience you just need to talk to them. They are usually down to dates, DTF etc once they come off their working shifts.

- an absolute bargain is mikadi beach, the accommodation is very cheap. The place has a very local feel.
- another good one is Sunrise beach resort, a bit fancy.
If they do not have the masseuse there, they can organize someone from a parlour to come there.

A lot of choices and options hence making recommendation a bit tricky. Any hotel in the previous mentioned areas would be ideal because they are close together and the entertainment options are in around there too.
- Budget hotels to mid range would be around Sinza, Mikocheni, Makumbusho, Mwenge. Recommending (wistas inn, silver springs, kebbys, elegance, Jamirex, starcity, king the, double view, atriums, collabus).
- Mid range to expensive around Mikocheni, Masaki / Oysterbay, Posta. Recommending (slow leopard, daisy comfort, saadani tourist hostel, varlek hotel, pearl at oysterbay). If you decide to stay at posta you have to check out the hotels there. I have covered none. But I can give recommendation if you ask. Posta area is ideal for tourists who are also going to do some business meetings / work stuff or looking for fancy stuff at the heart of dar.
- check recommendations out on google map for pictures and prices range.
- there are vast options available, so if someone else recommends somethings else check it out too.
Girls friendliness.
- most of the hotels allow you to bring a girl in your room, this should not be a problem.
Moving around.
- ubers, tuk tuks locally known as bajaji, normal taxi (not a common option nowadays, may only use from airport to your hotel). In your city movements it is nowadays common / economical to use ubers (both car and tuktuk options available).
Tip.
- if confident Book on Arrival. I understand most of you like booking in advance, but if you are not travelling with family, try doing it the adventurous / old school way. Get a list of 2 to 5 hotels you want. Once you get to airport tell your uber or taxi guy to bring you there. See for yourself what you will be getting before you pay. This way you get to tell them that you are expecting to be bringing girls there. Plus other stuff you want. At that point they will accept.
- can also go extra mile and call to confirm what you expect. Most of these hotels have numbers on their website or social media pages, if not, ask for number on inbox, call them via whatsapp and make yourself comfortable with what they say.
- again check the previous report. You need to see what your entertainment is, or what activities are you expecting to do. If you are a beach person who wants to wake up to the beach and stay there, this list is not that ideal. Even though you can go to the beaches around masaki or mbezi, it is very close. Bagamoyo and kigamboni areas I highly recommended for beach lovers who want budget places.

- ubers, tuk tuks locally known as bajaji, normal taxi (not a common option nowadays, may only use from airport to your hotel). In your city movements it is nowadays common / economical to use ubers (both car and tuktuk options available).
Tip.
- if confident Book on Arrival. I understand most of you like booking in advance, but if you are not travelling with family, try doing it the adventurous / old school way. Get a list of 2 to 5 hotels you want. Once you get to airport tell your uber or taxi guy to bring you there. See for yourself what you will be getting before you pay. This way you get to tell them that you are expecting to be bringing girls there. Plus other stuff you want. At that point they will accept.

I hope I will try to answer some questions regarding Dar, from the recent questions. I may have missed some stuff due to my limited time but just ask and I will answer. I will add up stuff I as I remember, also anyone feel free to add up other suggestions.
General info and tips.
- the below recommendations are areas with good security (even though TZ is generally peaceful) , close to one another and cheap to move around from your town centre hotel.
-the current situation is good for mongering because the bars are already running at full capacities. Universities are already open and this is generally a good thing because they are game changers for bar hunting. With university girls in the picture, the pros tend to be polite and even the prices become low. So this means there is vast of fish in the market including the uni girls who are always DTF depending on your game..
Accommodation.
A lot of choices and options hence making recommendation a bit tricky. Any hotel in the previous mentioned areas would be ideal because they are close together and the entertainment options are in around there too.
- Budget hotels to mid range would be around Sinza, Mikocheni, Makumbusho, Mwenge. Recommending (wistas inn, silver springs, kebbys, elegance, Jamirex, starcity, king the, double view, atriums, collabus).
- Mid range to expensive around Mikocheni, Masaki / Oysterbay, Posta. Recommending (slow leopard, daisy comfort, saadani tourist hostel, varlek hotel, pearl at oysterbay). If you decide to stay at posta you have to check out the hotels there. I have covered none. But I can give recommendation if you ask. Posta area is ideal for tourists who are also going to do some business meetings / work stuff or looking for fancy stuff at the heart of dar.

About price that is online price but do not pay more than 50 K (25 Usd) and they will accept that amount worry not, just keep on bargaining and show that you want them much.

If they are not having meetings they may think of accepting your offer. Locals use whatsapp groups and the pricing is way cheaper.
- even on the ground hunts in bars and other places, they start with such prices for tourists. Its your bargain which lowers that price.
TIP.
- days are not the same, example you find a girl who really needs money so she's willing to go for any price offered. But the same girl when she has many clients on her list then she tends to ignore the small offers. So its all about how much you really want that Tanzanian hottie and how high you want to go to have her.
- sometimes people say all night but if you find a girl like 3 am or 4 am in the morning and she accepts 20 usd it may be that she had good business that day so she's okay with that. But if you tried this at 8 pm for all night she might be reluctant to accept. But with the current state of economy 20 usd should give you plenty of fish even for all night.
- do your hunt in bars, palours etc. You will thank me later! But if you are more into online bookings for meeting girls, give tinder a shot (always reliable & cheap good options).

Local businessmen with little time for hunts, even locals who find a girl attractive at escort sites can pay that, hence making the girls confident about asking those prices. But escort sites are not a common thing of use for the buying local market. Hence the sellers are targeting the category of their main buyers (foreigners, business guys, others). With time such sites will get more fame and many girls will join, the prices will lower.

Yellow fever is mandatory, but for palu / malaria there is no vaccine.
Preventive measures and drugs against malaria are among others in risky areas wearing long sleeves and trousers at night, use a spray with high DEET on uncovered parts, such as ankles, neck, . Sleeping under a mosquito net treated with DEET, or if you have a AC lowest temperature, and don't forget to use the prescribed medicine like malarone, or Lariam, Or Doxycycline etc against palu.
You could be very sick once you get malaria. You feel very miserable and your holiday will be screwed.
Typhus vaccine is also recommended.

The cost is 50 $ on arrival if they see that you had to get the certificate and you don't have it.

They said it takes around 10 days as far as I can remember but mine was issued in less than 48 hours. A simple straight forward process. Apparently there is also VOA but messing around at night when you land in visa queues doesn't make a lot of sense when there is an easy online process. I would much prefer to land with visa in hand.

Thanks for any help.LOL this isn't Zimbabwe. There's plenty of ATMs in Tanzania, especially in urban areas like dar. They usually are stocked with cash so you shouldn't have a problem with your visa or Mastercard.
Pounds are also exchangeable for shillings if you opt to come with cash. They get a much better rate than dollars.

Have seen flights from my local airport in UK to Dar via Amsterdam for £750 return and tempted to book it.
Only thing I'm afraid of is if I get there and the bars have closed and country gets locked down.
Can anyone guess the chances of this and how things are on the ground at the minute?
Also where are masks compulsory if anywhere? Lastly I know I need to apply for a visa to save me getting one on arrival, don't think I need a yellow fever shot but is it recommended? What other shots should I get and should I just buy the malaria tablets at home or over there.

Unfortunately my hopes are fading.
I'm finding it hard to get a yellow fever injection in time, I know you can get one there but I've read it takes at least a week to be effective.
Most of the other injections I need seem to take longer than a week to kick in too. From reading about online I probably need cholera, typhoid and hep a and most travel places you have to have an initial consultation appointment before they'll even give you an appointment for the injection.
Also cheapest flights are £750 for the next few months.
Wish I'd have had more time to prepare, going to see if I can get any injections tomorrow and give it one last try.
I called Tanzania embassy in France. They ask only for yellow fever one. And its not sure because you come straight from Europe. Its usually necessary if you have been in a high risk country for more than 12 h. Here in France there is medicl center in which you can get vaccination without appointment for 70 eur.
Unfortunately my hopes are fading.

Unfortunately my hopes are fading.
I'm finding it hard to get a yellow fever injection in time, I know you can get one there but I've read it takes at least a week to be effective.
Most of the other injections I need seem to take longer than a week to kick in too. From reading about online I probably need cholera, typhoid and hep a and most travel places you have to have an initial consultation appointment before they'll even give you an appointment for the injection.
Also cheapest flights are 750 for the next few months.
Wish I'd have had more time to prepare, going to see if I can get any injections tomorrow and give it one last try.So sorry for you!

I called Tanzania embassy in France. They ask only for yellow fever one. And its not sure because you come straight from Europe. Its usually necessary if you have been in a high risk country for more than 12 h. Here in France there is medicl center in which you can get vaccination without appointment for 70 eur.When are you coming?
Never mind it being effective or not. It's not something you catch. It's a stamp on a piece of paper and a pretext for hassle if you cannot show it.I thought you can get here on Arrival.

The 14 countries whose citizens will have quarantine-free access to the EU from 1 July. According to LE Monde. Include Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, Montenegro, Morocco, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay.
From tomorrow the EU borders will open only to the above 15 countries. I want to reach Tanzania since Kenya my usual monger destination is under lockdown but I don't understand if it is possible to leave from any European airport to Dar es Salam. Is there anyone who have flown from Europe to Tanzania recently or someone who is about to do so?

Couldn't get an appointment for any vaccinations in time but the flights come down in price mid August so think I'm going to book for then. Going to book in the next few days if I can get flexible flights just in case things change over there.

I can see Ethiopian, KLM, Lufthansa, Qatar too are there.
