Similarly, I did not hang out at any bars or clubs this last visit (December 2011. Trip report to come later) , but I do know that earlier posts detail the type of clientel of the various bars / clubs in downtown Kampala, Kabalagala, and on the way toward Entebbe. However, I will say that most women are approachable in Kampala though you may not always score. Just think of it like in any sport. No one is 100 percent successful in scoring in any sport. Nor should one want to score 100 percent of the time for various reasons. But it is doable to approach a lady on the street, even during the daytime and exchange contact information. Just be mindful that Ugandan women are very conscious about their image in the community and do not appreciate disrespect in public (that is why some Ugandan women prefer foreigners over the native guys since the native guys can be quite rude). But I have visited a few clubs on a prior visit to Kampala and I can assure you have nothing to worry about being a white guy. The Ugandan women love white guys. Just use common sense when out and about. Everywhere I have gone this past year and before, I have never encountered any problems walking the streets of a given city, even late at night (and I have been in places like Haiti, Lagos Nigeria, Dakar Senegal, Manila and Angeles City Philippines, Nairobi and Mombasa Kenya, Malawi, Freetown Sierra Leone, Phuket Thailand, Bali Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, Bronx New York City, Los Angeles California. You get the picture) and the only people I had to fend off where the begging mothers in Nairobi and the hawkers in various places. I have never been pickpocketed or mugged (knock on wood). But then again, I have never drank alcohol to the point that I became intoxicated (I find that is a common thread among those who get into fights or get taken advantage of) and I have never done anything indecent (which invites the local law enforcement and even imposters to take advantage of your predicament, such as banging a chick in a public venue).
All hotels in Kampala are girl-friendly perhaps with the exception of Serena Hotel (when I was there, I inadvertently walked into conference hall where the Prime Minister was holding a meeting. Oh and I was wearing shorts among all these men and women wearing suits! I just thought all the added security was due to the terrorist threats. I was actually trying to get to the hotel's business center to access some reliable Wifi). Of course, the key to them being gf is paying for a double or accepting when they tack on the surcharge when you have an overnight guest. The key question is which side of Kampala Road do you want to stay on? Sheraton, Speke, Serena, and Imperial hotels are on the upper scale side of Kampala Road. Hotels such as JBK, Holiday Express, Aponye, etc are on the hustle and bustle side of Kampala Road. I like being close to the hustle and bustle area of any place I go on my own dime since I usually stay on the other side of the tracks when I travel for business.
Also be mindful that there are some hotels you can stay at in the Kabalagala area which is right where a lot of the night action takes place. To date I have not ventured to Kabalagala during the night (only went there during the day to check out Ethiopia Village, yes that Ethiopia Village from the 2010 World Cup incident) , but I plan to go there on my next visit. Also the main reason I didn't venture out to any night clubs was because my Uganda visit was at the tail end of a 45 day monger tour (Nairobi and Mombasa Kenya, and Lilongwe and Blantyre Malawi were my earlier stops) , and I was getting fucking tired! Literally and figuratively! I banged my girlfriends most days and nights, and I also did work as well so I saw no point in going out to the night clubs. Next time, I will visit Uganda earlier when I am refreshed.

What type of places do you like? What kind of girls do you like? Simple and easy-going? Glamorous? Office chicks? Students? Do you like upmarket places or are you more happy in shorts and flip-flops? Bars / pubs or nightclubs? Easier to make a recommendation if you let us know what you like.
Most of the upmarket clubs have a number of pros and semi-pros mixing with the regular chicks. For upmarket chicks, try Amnesia or Guvnor. Club Rouge on Wednesday, Friday or Saturday after midnight is also good. Cayenne is swamped with pros, but also has a fair share of non-pros. Pretty much all of Kabalagala is empty of non-pros. Hotel bars are not particularly good, most are popular with semi-pros looking for money. An exception is Equator at Sheraton, which is also popular with non-pros (however, it's also got a large amount of pros and semi-pros).
Do note that unless you are a mix of Clark Gable and Tom Cruise, the girls who are most aggressive / keen to talk to you are usually looking for money. It takes a tiny bit of effort to get to know non-pros, but your success rate should be really high.
Do avoid groups of students who will nag you for drinks the whole night for "your girl" and all her girlfriends, and then just leave you at the end of the night at 6am.
Pretty much all places are safe, except the occasional pick-pocket. You will need to put in effort to get into a fight or get violently mugged.

Therefore, KQ directly impacted my plans and the only love they showed me was to present an already opened (for the lone passenger in Business class on that flight) bottle of champagne! Wow, did I feel special but understanding African culture, I played along and acted appreciative-in hindsight, I think that performance was worthy of an Oscar given what was really going through my mind at the time!).
I spent about 10 days in Kampala and got around the city by boda boda (yes I must have been getting tired and lax as I don't even ride motos in the US). This is the cheapest and most efficient way of getting around within the city but I would not choose this option to venture far outside of Kampala (too dangerous in terms of accidents). But again please note that I did not say it is the safest way to get around within the city; I just decided that getting to my destination within the city in a timely manner at a low cost was worth the risk to my personal well being (nope, I never wore a helmet). Whenever I go on mongering trips I choose to stay among the locals, and in Kampala this meant staying on the side of Kampala Road where the hustle and bustle of city life happens right outside of your hotel. I stayed at Aponye Hotel, a nice low budget hotel not necessarily close to the action (unless you are looking for street action; I wasn't). I believe I paid 55K UGX for the double room I stayed in, which given the exchange rate at the time, amounted to abour 25USD per night. Featured free Wifi (didn't work that well even when the signal strength was strong) , hot running water, and mosquito bed netting. It was for this reason that I ventured first to Sheraton (they don't allow non-guests to purchase and use Wifi) then to Serena to use Wifi in the business center. For those requiring need to stay connected, you also have the option of purchasing a dongle at a few places that are unlocked such that you can use any of the mobile broadband sims. Just know that it will cost you. I paid 1, 950KSH (roughly 20USD) for a similiar Safaricom dongle and SIM that included a week of free unlimited internet in Nairobi whereas I would have had to pay 80USD for just the plastic dongle itself (I did talk the guy down to 60USD, but still that was too much IMHO and passed on the setup). I would have had to purchase a SIM and the accompanying top-up credits in order to actually use it, so I figured dropping 100USD just to connect to internet was a bit too much for me. Heck, if I refuse to drop 100USD for a piece of p4p, I certainly was not going to drop the same just to use the internet. Also, breakfast was NOT included in the room cost, but if you wanted the breakfast in the hotel restaurant, it ran 6K UGX. I preferred to venture out and experience the variety of Ugandan food out and about, and in doing so, found some great eats that were a bit less expensive but definitely more satisfying.
So in the end, I only was with two different ladies, but I met a bevy of others that I would have bagged had it not been the Christmas season and their plans to travel back to their villages (some had invited me to come along but that would have taken me out of my element which is to be available for maximum banging). Maybe next time I might check out the p4p scene, but even going the non-pro route provides plenty of action. But you just have to be a good actor!

Miami Club on the left down the hill past Hotel International. Run by Chinese who have a sister enterprise in Kololo. Very smart girls there, all between 20 and 30 years. The room quality and price varies between UGX 20, 000 and 40, 000. For the high end you get a double bed and bathroom. Room is pretty dismal, but thats not the point. The girls are all geared up for extras, price negotiable between you and the girl. They will want UGX 100k, but will settle for 50k. 60k. All services provided.
Bamboo Club on the right going up the hill before you get to Hotel International. Its a health club and the rooms are very seedy with a massage table, no bed. The massage itself is only 15k Girls (ladies?) are not fantastic but all will give normally give a HJ for a fee of 30-40k. The one really nice girl has left and is in Mengo now, but available for outcalls to your hotel. I'll post her number next time.

If you wanna be around a higher concentration of pick up bars for mzungus and all within walking distance of your hotel, you might consider staying in Kabalagala instead of the city center. There I recommend the SEB Hotel next to the Ethiopian Village. From there, you can walk down to De-posh, the infamous 'capital pub', Mi Chuchi (sp?), etc...

Even being up on the 5th floor of the Aponeye Hotel, I could hear the sounds on the street just as though I were on the first floor with my windows open (there is just mesh opening at the top of the glass door leading out to balcony on street side Aponeye Hotel rooms). But when I re-visit Kampala, I will have no problem staying on the lower side of the tracks. I like the food venues and the rooms are tolerable. Actually, I will try out staying in Kabalagala next go around as has been suggested of late here.

For the moment I have made my booking with JKB hotel as per recomendations.
What Jiggydus said about the noise level in the Taxi Park area is real and no joke. To mitigate this at the JBK you have two options. One, you can request a room inside the hotel (against a solid wall) with no windows and no A / C which is the most quiet option. Or, at no additional cost, you can request a room with A / C facing the street. Of course, these rooms have windows, but they are sealed and this reduces the noise considerably. I prefer a view and A / C so this is what I choose, but some of the regulars there prefer to be inside. To each his own.
Lets see how it goes.
If for whatever reason you don't like the JBK, simply shift to another hotel. All of the others mentioned here (including the Aponeye) are less than a 5 min walk from each other.

Thanks again everyone.This is just an update. I contacted them by email. According to them, the rates on the site are old and now only apply for single occupancy. $200 dollars extra per month covers double occupancy with A / C. I also asked if I could leave the registration in my name only (not register the guest) , they said it's fine no problem with that. Hope that helps if anyone needs the info.
Guess I'll take a gamble and try them out. I like the location as I see on the map, not too far not too close.
I'll give an update once I get there next month.

It also happens to be closer to Rock gardens (YOUR specified mongering location) than any of the other budget hotels. You were given what you asked for. Kampala is what it is.
Hotels like the 680 in Nairobi are well over your stated price range in Kampala. As far as distance is concerned, your beloved "Black Diamonds" in Westlands is NOT walkable from the 680 hotel, whereas Rock gardens is less than a 15 min walk from the JBK.

I have a close friend who offers some interesting accomodation opportunity in Kampala as well as elsewhere in Uganda.
We're talking the guesthouse kind of accomodation, a good, clean, secure and comfortable room which is fairly priced; half way in between the expensive Hilton and the cheap Hostels.
Definitely worth a try.
I have no personal interest in this other than trying to help out a nice young friend who is a very good girl and wishes to try and make a buck with tourism.
She can provide drivers, guides and organize tours as well.
I have personally brought up the issue of accomodation in Kampala with her when she first told me she planned to start working in the tourism business. I knew this was an issue in town because I had read the forum while planning a trip over there, the trip didn't come yet but here we are. I might have done something good for the community, I certainly hope so.

You usually get the extremes, dumps under $30 USD that don't work or hotels above $50 USD that are over-priced. JBK fits nicely in the middle. Not even close. That said, I also understand that for some, $50 per night over a long period of time can add up and therefore the search for something cheaper, decent and functional continues.
To that end, the best option I've found to date is the Samalien Hotel on William street behind the old Equatoria Hotel (now a shopping mall). For a self-contained double in a secured, relatively quiet compound, it's about $20. As you would expect, there's no air-con but they do have a fan, TV (with limited channels) , hot water (from a tank vs head) and 24/7 power (full power). No fridge, but they do have chilled beers, sodas and water avail for sale at the reception. If they don't have something you fancy, they will go out and get it for you if someone is avail. Good staff (even better on a nominal tipping plan) and trustworthy. No restrictions on girls.
After 10pm, a boda or taxi is strongly advised to and from this location.

Kabalagala is located SE of the city center. The strip is located on Muyenga Road between Kibuli Road and Gaba Road. It is about 350m long.
There are a couple of hotels on the strip. Pearl Guesthouse is one and Mabira Hotel is the other. The music from the neighboring bar makes it impossible to sleep in Pearl from about 10pm to 6am. Mabira Hotel is much better. Rooms in Mabira start at about 40, 000 UGS. There are other hotels in the area, especially in Muyenga, but they are less convenient to bars and restaurants and may have other guests who are not denizens of the nightlife.
There are at least a dozen bars on the strip. Girls can be found in all of them. The two most popular are Capital Grill and De Posh. Both are crowded pretty much every night of the week.
Capital is full of pros. Some girls may not admit they are pros, but rest assured, nearly every girl in the place is there for one reason, to earn some extra shillings. There is an African girl there for every taste, regular or occasional worker, veteran or amateur, university student or product of the Kabalagala slum, big or small, young or old; you can find it at Capital. The going rate for ST starts at 10, 000 UGS. A girl who considers herself a queen of the scene may ask for 20, 000 UGS, but can be had for less. If a girl asks for more than 20, 000 UGS it is probably better to move on. Oddly, the rate for LT is about the same as the rate for ST. These girls rarely complain, and most will accommodate you for as long as your can go. With Wazungu, many girls do not admit they are pros. The want you to treat them as a girlfriend, something a local would never do. If you want, many will stay with you night and day, but rest assured they will not turn down outside business if the opportunity presents itself. A final note, you really have to watch your pockets in Capital, especially on the dance floor.
De Posh is a bit more upscale than Capital. There is a mix of pros and non pros. The pros move back and forth from bar to bar on the strip, so the particulars are the same wherever you find a pro.
There is not to do in Kabalagala outside of the nightlife. There are internet cafes, football on TV and pool in the bars.
There are places that provide massage in Muyenga, especially on Tank Hill Road. Massage and a HE will cost at least as much as ST or LT in the bars. Massage and all the extras can be had in Chez Bettina, but the prices are way out of line with the market.
Minibuses run along Gaba Road to Lake Victoria. Gaba Beach and KK Beach have food and occasionally live music. At Gaba Market they sell fried, Lake Victoria fish at cheap prices. Minibuses run along Gaba Road in the other direction to the city center. Motorbikes can also be hired to the city center from the strip for about 2, 500 UGS. Motorbikes to Garden City Mall run about 2, 000 UGS. Rule of thumb for motorbikes is 500 UGS per km.

In both Kenya and Uganda, I routinely withdraw cash from Barclay's and Standard Chartered banks using my foreign issued VISA debit card with no problem. It's even free of charge when I use Barclay's because of a reciprocal arrangement they have with my bank.
So, if the OP is currently able to withdraw cash from his ATM card in Nairobi, then he should be able to do the same in Kampala as well...

I had to ask my friend from europe to make a western union transfer. I will never forget it.
In kenya no ATM problems if you have two type of cards. Switching ATM may be required while some communication problems or the ATM is run out of cash. But never had a problem in kenya.
Next time I am going with cash.

While in kampala my activities can be categorized as follows:
Daytime mongering.
Very Frustrating since not may girls in the street especially compare to kenya. In spite of my effort I got only one nice girl last time in her way to university. We stayed together for a week. In mombasa I got in average 3 girls from matattu / street / Nakumatt etc. My conclusion is to take this strategy easy.
Clubbing:
I normally focus on non pro hangout with only minor pro. The best way for that clubs is to come with a girl so she can introduce to you her friends and so on. Also if you come with a girl, other ladies are more interested so it easy to collect phone numbers. Some semi-pro girls there look like coming straight fro MTV video clip. In particular girls from Rawanda.
Clubs at Kabalagala Strip are not my thing, I prefer the more normal places such as Ange Noir and club silk.
Internet Dating:
I got 10 girls from afro, good sex and great fun. The problem is they rarely look close to their photos which they are heavenly Photoshoped. As far as dating kenya has much better looking girls but statistically you can get more sex in kampala since the girls are less sophisticated and far less busy.
So in summary for me staying in the busy area of kampala has no benefit. It is better to concentrate in dating and clubbing in a more out of the center location. Girls can come for a date from very far and distance is not a problem for them.

Socialized with all types of foreigners over the years, most of whom were Europeans. Never did I once hear of anyone having issues withdrawing cash from banks in Uganda using their Visa logo'd ATM cards. I repeat, never.
I'm not sure what the issue was with JP's card (or his bank) , but I can assure you that's not the norm. I do have empathy for him however, as I went thru something similar to this in Accra, Ghana about a decade ago. Not fun!

We're talking the guesthouse kind of accomodation, a good, clean, secure and comfortable room which is fairly priced; half way in between the expensive Hilton and the cheap Hostels.

I have noticed that there are not many reports about apartments here. I usually want to rent an apartment for mongering trips, no hassling with reception / security / etc. In Uganda I and my wingman will stay in an apartment somewhere in Tank Hill. thankskampala is great. in the kabalagala there is capital and poshe clubs. poshe is more up scale and capital is scraping the barrel but both offer lots of possibilities. in town i would recommend rock garden (at speke hotel) which has wall to wall pros, cayenne, and bubbles (irish bar with lots of ex pats and top quality girls who may be abit unapproachable early on but after a few drinks they are still interested). there are also pick ups to be had at the bar at serena hotel.

I'm bound by family matters now, but toss over (and over) between Uganda and Kenya on my next safari, though Kenya will likely win out for mongering purposes. Sorry to ask this (basic) question about tadalafil and / or viagra. Haven't tried them yet but besides getting a longer / harder erection what are the benefits of these pills? Do you become less sensitive and thus can go on for longer time? And do you recuberate faster after the first ejaculation? Would just like to know before try them out.

It is about a 10 min boda boda ride from Rock Garden (3k going and 3. 5 to 4k return) and about 15-20 min from Kabalagala. Since I only hit the K strip once in 25 days, that was not an issue for me as I had my procession of AfroI, AfroG, and chance hookups coming to me.
Aponeye Hotel is just a short walk from JBK and at 45-55K is right up budget alley, but I didn't like the hot water situation and noise when I stayed there in 2011. I am in Ghana now and just too busy fucking (or too fucking busy) to post my report just yet.

It is true that on the weekends, the bar downstairs plays music into the night, but during the weekday, it is very quiet. I happened to have a room that had a balcony, so I was able to open my side window and get a nice breeze. I exercised the entire time while in Kampala and the only times I found the room to be hot was when I had just returned from my runs and within an hour of workout completion. Otherwise, lack of A / C or fan did not pose a problem, though I realize some people go into overheat mode without those amenities. I think Holiday Express was a bit more quiet than JBK, but if you want real quiet and close location to Rock Garden, Speke Hotel is the place you should seek out. Otherwise, it is $200 plus per night at Sheraton or Serena. If you want to be right near the action in Kabalagala, there are a few places there that would fit the bill.

Thanks for the photos and the suggestion, I have now changed room and it's a hundred times better. Air con works really well and the room also looks 10 years new. MThanks, I lived in Mtwapa for more then a year so I know the place inside and out. My trip includes diani beach / ukunda and Lamu as I want to avoid Mtwapa and its working girls. In kenyan coast whatever you do you will get girls so its more of a fun trip. I also have a few phone numbers from afro.

I've never had to go to mongering spots (other than gf hotels) when setting up full itineraries off of dating sites online. I'm somewhat partial to muslim girls (my wife being one, though I'm Catholic) as I prefer with girls with conservative mores "outside the bedroom". But I might be concerned about going to Lamu given proximity to Somalia. Just returned from a six week trip to Uganda and Rwanda. How I wish I would still be there!
Last Fall, when I was certain of my return to Uganda, I posted my profile in the Kampala section of Badoo and not surprisingly was contacted by a great number of "ladies." Some of them told me in their first message that they had already fallen in love with me, and really wanted to marry me! Deleted! Others may have been "professionals" looking to book clients ahead of time. They sent very revealing to fully naked pictures, promising me the very best sex I ever had in my life. Deleted! Others asked me for money in some of their first messages, telling me amazing sob-stories. Deleted!
But that still left a dozen or so of seemingly very nice more or less young ladies (from 20 to 30 years of age) who could write coherently, sometimes even very intelligently. Typically, our chats and mails were fairly "innocent," talking about life in Uganda, their life, their homes and families, their travel experiences, and so on. We exchanged some more pictures beyond those posted on Badoo. After a while I took a liking to one 24 year old lady from Kampala, a recent but still job-hunting college graduate. I told her of my travel plans, hiring a car & guide for a lengthy trip to the west of the country and to Rwanda, and finally asked her if she cared to be my travel companion. She understood that being my travel companion would include that she would be my bed-mate as well. It took her three days to make up her mind, during which she asked me many questions. I really respected her for that, and it convinced me that she was definitely not a pro or even semi-pro.
Well. She met me at the airport and we had our first encounter in a hotel in Entebbe. We took it easy, taking our time to get to know each other, but eventually we both agreed that we had made no mistake, and the rest of the night was just wonderful, gentle and sweet.
And so were the rest of the remaining 39 days!
She showed me around in Kampala, introduced me to several of her friends, we went clubbing a few times, and each evening, each night we were into each other. Slowly and gently she also introduced me to some new ways (to me) of making love to a woman, showed me how I could please her more, and she in turn learning what pleased me. This experience is why I have essentially given up to avail myself of the services of a "pro." I find this TLC, this caring for each other, is the greatest aphrodisiac in existence. Mind you, I could easily have been this lady's grandfather. Yes, for the first night I popped a Viagra, but that was also the last. After my brief recuperation stay in Nairobi, on December 16 I flew to Kampala, Uganda where I had planned a nearly 4 week stay. I flew Kenya Airways coach class on a multi-leg ticket that also subsequently took me back to Nairobi, to Accra, Ghana and back to Nairobi, and the quirky thing about it is it saved me about $200USD doing this way instead of purchasing each RT leg separately. Going forward, I will put my plan in action to visit Ethiopia and use combination of Ethiopia Airways and Fly 540 to get around since I find Kenya Airways acceptable, but recent frequent flyer program change makes it no longer attractive to pay premium price while getting fractional mileage credit (I am a frequent flyer point / mileage hound since those programs have financed some great trips for me at little out of pocket expense).
I obtained the entry visa at the airport for 50 USD, and was amused when the customs agent told me the Grant must be newer bills as they would not accept pre-2000 USD bills. I only had newer Benjamins readily available so I gave her that, expecting at least a $50 bill in return. I was not happy when she gave me 2 twenties and a ten spot. So apparently an earlier traveler had paid this way and for those who know currency exchange in East Africa, often you do not get the higher exchange rate when you exchange pre-2000 US bills or bills smaller than a fifty. This is not the case in West Africa except for the small bills. A hundred is a hundred, and a fifty is a fifty. Pissed me off but fortunately I had come well prepared. I did make the mistake of exchange a larger sum of money than I usually do at the airport and in the process lost out on about $60 USD in the process. I did so because I wanted to pay my accommodation charge the first day and figured the currency exchanges would be closed on Sunday (they all are not closed on Sunday). The next questionable decision I made was to purchase a MTN mobile broadband dongle at the airport for $65 USD. I have need to be online even when the power goes out and cannot rely exclusively on hotel wifi. In fact, some of web pages I have to access will not work with slower wifi connections. So it was a necessary business expense, but I should have waited until I got the 411 on mobile broadband providers and quality. In short, MTN sucks. Orange is much better. So I ended up giving that dongle away to one of my Afro connects. I took a taxi from the airport for 40 USD (I passed two of those twenties to him). Since I was staying for just under a month, I decided to not go with the apartment in Tank Hill Kabalagala which is really close to the night life there and opted to stay at Hotel Inter Tropics which was recommended to me by one of my old AfroGems chica (yep, I have a long list of contacts I farmed from that site, and I actually met up with another AfroGem chica (more on her much later). The daily rate at the hotel worked out to be 40USD or 100, 000UGX, and with the exchange rate of 1USD=2, 650UGX, it worked out in my favor to pay in UGX for a standard double with bed / breakfast, DSTV and internet included. I selected a room with a balcony and the difference between the room I had and an executive double that cost 20USD more was the Exec. DBL had the shower enclosed whereas my shower would wet the toilet and floor. I think next time, I will stay at the apartment in Kabalagala. Hotel Inter Tropics is nice and I understand the management is going to make more improvements to the property. This will allow me to actually get out and take a road trip to some of the other areas of Uganda. I recently joined as a member after several months of lurking. Time to make a small contribution. I have lived and worked in Africa most of my professional life over the last 35 years. Many of the places I know well may have changed in the last couple of years and will therefore talk about my recent experiences in Uganda, where I have traveled frequently to over the last year for work and on a separate thread Ethiopia which is and has been home for some 15 years.
I, like several other mongers here tend not to frequent the night clubs as I manage to catch what I am loooking for during the day or ealy evening. However the clubs of note are Cayenne, Silk, Governors and the bar / restaurant / disco of Steak Out, with two locations in Kampala.
I will provide some indicators to where I think the better places are for mongering. Most Ugandan girls are friendly and approachable and really it is up to you how you talk to them to get a smile, a laugh and an agrred date. That can be done in a few minutes or for a later appointment. Obviously being a musungu helps as to being considered less of a risk and usually with funds. Note, I do not pay over the odds, but a fair price for services offered. That can be from UGS 20, 000 (US$ 8) , for a quickie in the day up to a full on session all night (UGS 60 to 80 K or, US$ 20 to 30).
Mention has been made of Nakumat shopping centre, but next door at the garden city mall, there are floors of lovelies strutting their stuff. On the top floor there is a good bar with food called Boda Boda and early evenings will find many non and semi pros around. Try the food hall, good value and plenty of ladies come here for lunch, supper and maybe a midnight snack.
Behind both of these malls is Century Park, with a diverse range of bars and restaurants catering to all tastes and one also has a swimming pool. There is always, but always some action here. But usually to make a later date.
Speke hotel often crops up. The club is rowdy and troublesome, but sit on the verandah with a cold beer anytime and watch the world go by; plenty of fishes pass, dsiplaying their wares and it is up to you to throw the hook. Very near to Speke is the Mosa Court Apartments. GF, has a pool and gym and usually around $100 / night.
A great place for food, drinks and mongering. All types and tribes is Kisimente shopping centre. All taxi drivers know the place.
Early evening sundowners at the mist bar terrace at the Kampala Serena will find pros and semi pros getting ready for the night at other locations. Negotiate hard. After 10, there are those that are hoping for some action and a good time to get a deal done. At this hour the ball is in your court as to price and services. Serena is NOT GF. The coffee shop here has good cakes and early evenings will find Ethiopians and Eritreans there. But aloof as always and I can only crack due to my background in Ethiopia.
Kabalaga, everyone seems to know with its clubs, bars and seedy hotels. Take the road from here to Speke resort Hotel on lake Victoria. Weekends will find lovelies on the prowl at the excellent swimmig pool. For 20 K you have the pool, gym and sauna. Compettiton with young fit marines though. I am late 50's, reasonably fit and being modest, yet realistic, presentable. BTW, Speke also has another place in town with a pool, a Country Club, hotel and very near Cayene. Bit too upmarket, but when you go fishing you have to try all the possible locations.
Also near the Speke resort at Busiga is a Belgian owned hotel and restaurant, great food and views over the lake. Many middle income office ladies come here and many are amenable to playtime fun. Also has a pool and girls in good numbers at weeekends.
Between Kabalaga and Speke resort there are a few International Universities, with students from across the region (Ethiopia, Eritrea, Somali, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, DRC and beyond ). Plenty of bars and food joints. The second steak out is located here and worth a visit on ladies night or weekends. If you have a car, call into the car wash to see some fine girls wiggling everything to make sure your pride and joy is polished. The car that is! Again happy to entertain their services off premises.
Lastly Entebbe. This is now a UN domain, with the distorted prices they inflict wherever they settle. Lake Victoria Hotel is a lovely location, but a little to family focused at weekends. There are a couple of beach bars between here and the airport and you pay a small fee of a couple of dollars. Noisy, brash but there are girls. Much more serene is Andereta Beach just of the highway at old Entebbe town. Two great Al Fresco beach bar / restaurants and loads of girls late afternoons on Saturdays and Sundays if the weather is good. Pain getting back to Kampala due to the traffic. Don't forget to take your lady for a stroll in the botanical gardens; will build your strength for later.
There were a couple of strip clubs, but new morality laws are in the offing, so a bit demure at present. Including banning mini skirts!
If I had the time, I could fuck my brains out in Uganda at any time of the day. There are great catches to be had wherever you go and I include students, waitresses, receptionists, office ladies, semi-pro's and WG's in that number. Be friendly, not overly pushy and ye shall find what you seek.
