I am vaccinated for yellow fever but in fact I have never been asked to show any proof of vaccination, neither in Kenya, Uganda (by road), Rwanda, Madagascar.As far as I remember you have to upload your YF.
Certificate when you apply for EVisa. And yes. I have been checked for YF Certificate. Ugandans DO check. I actually have a YF Certificate. And while I'm not a fan of COVID vaccine I consider YF vaccine essential if you continue traveling in subsaharan Africa. You can get it on arrival in many African Airports. I got mine in Mombasa. Just ask for the port health officer.

A bribe to let the entry agent look the other way?I have entered Uganda many times and I was always asked to show YF vaccination proof. Bribing will be difficult because it's a very public situation at the health-check.

Qatar Airways (and there are others) is notorious for not letting you board your flight if you don't have the e-Visa in your phone or printed out. I had to be extremely assuring to the screening ladies that yes, I can get a visa on arrival in the airport at EBB. They finally agreed to have their floor manager make a phone call to Qatar Airways at EBB and he told them to allow me to board only if I had a receipt showing that I applied for and paid for the e-Visa. I had this information on screen shot, but they wanted to see it in real time, so I used my Passport number, birth date and application ID on the official Uganda website. I used "Check Status" and bam, it appeared that I had paid 100 USD and that my application was in "Pending" status. They said that there would be no problem obtaining my visa on arrival as long as I showed this receipt at EBB.
When I arrived at EBB, there was a long queue, but the lady was expecting me (as Qatar Airways had sent a pic of my passport). I made my way to the front of the line and got my East African Visa. This visa includes Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya. I plan on flying to all three in the next few weeks.
I knew about the visa on arrival from a friend who had been there recently. However, I could find nothing on the Uganda website that stated visa on arrival was possible. In fact, I found several sources (2016/2017) that said the contrary.
Just wanted you guys to be aware:
1. That VOA is possible at EBB.
2. When applying for your e-Visa you need to have proof of return. Since I only had a one-way ticket I ended up using FakeFightTickets website ($10 usd) to get a round trip proof of flight. You need this for the e-Visa application (as well as passport, itemized itinerary and proof of yellow-fever vaccination).
3. e-Visa application takes 10 business days to process (according to the lady who gave me my visa on arrival). Had I known I was going to EBB 10 business days ago, I would have applied.
4. Official Uganda website for Visa Application is https://visas.immigration.go.ug/.

The so called EAC Visa which is 100 $ for 3 months and valid for Rwanda, Uganda and Kenya. You were just lucky that your pending Visa application was accepted for boarding.
That doesn't imply that VOA was reinstated, which is not the case. Technically you arrived with a pending EVisa which was approved there and then on the airport.

Update. FYI: Just received my eVisa. Applied Sunday, 29-May. Received 3 business days later on 1-Jun. The last-second plans caused me some inconvenience. But good stuff to know.

I prefer the ones run by Eritreans or Ethiopians. There's only regular furnished rental apartments for long term stay. Expect 500 $ and up for a month. Cheapest option. You rent a bedsitter which goes for 50 to 80 $ a month. Furnish it yourself for a couple of hundred bucks. Drawback. Security non-existent. If older than 5 years. No maintenance. Go figure. No power. No water. Fact is accommodation is totally overpriced in Africa. Expect bad quality for a lot of money. This is not Asia.

But there are plenty hotels for all the pockets.
For exchange USD, I suggest you, if you are still in time, to get a Wise (previously known as TransferWise) card. It works in Uganda, I checked on the website. You basically do a wire transfer to the bank account associated to your card, and you convert USD in UGX. Then you withdraw UGX from the ATM. I didn't check Revolut, since I don't have it, but it might be an alternative. You will need cash in Kampala and I don't think it's a good idea to bring cash with you. I never do when I travel.
The best mode of transportation is Uber. Remember you have to pay cash, I read they cancel the ride if you see you have card as a payment method. During the day (not at night) you can take a boda, basically you'll be a passenger on a motorcycle. I have been told there are a lot of accident, so at your risk. Some people prefer Uber. There is a lot of traffic in Kampala, roads are dirty, and motorbikes are old.

I booked a flat in Nakasero for $19 a day, but the mattress was killing my back, so I booked another flat in Bukoto, way more expensive and bigger. Accommodations are overpriced, especially considering the cleanliness.

I used boba boda all the time. Uber at night. When I say Uber, I still mean boda boda. You can reserve a boda boda Uber, which is supposed to be safer. Problem is there aren't many around. A better app is SafeBoda, but I didn't bother to install. Often with Uber you get better prices, which is a paradox. Always negotiate. I was getting from Bukoto to Old Kampala for 4000/5000 shillings. If you transport a girl with you, you need to pay for both. If a driver doesn't accept, ask another and you'll get the deal. I was getting better prices than the locals. They do all use a bike called BM 100 (Bajaj Boxer 100), it's produced by an Indian company. 100 CC, about 8 hp, 4 strokes engine. It's dangerous. I met in a restaurant a man who gave me a ride to my place. We spoke for a while, he works for the government, he drives a big Mercedes, he probably does 4/5 thousand dollars a month.
Anyway, I think you should all follow the advise of the veterans. If you go there, don't pay more than what has been suggested, because it is not worth it. There are no slay queens, there are just girls who have better clothes and are spoiled, because they have a good circle of clients. Avoid those girls, they are professionals. There is so much offer, you can find beautiful girls for a few dollars.
Prices are crazy. A 250 ML shower gel costs 25 k /30 k, so you can imagine how hard is for some people there. Pay what is right, not what they ask.
The airport scam

Always rent an apartment with a mosquito net around the bed. Buy a mosquito spray and use it a few hours before you go to sleep, then lock the room. One night there was a mosquito inside the net, and we were able to kill it before it sucked our blood.

Also if you go to Bwindi it will be a bit more hard to reach Gorillas there than the ones just close to the Rwanda border, in the Mgahinga National Park. Gorillas are tracked and their place is well know each day, but you can have between 2 to 4 hours walking to reach them.
And if you bring your girl with you it will cost double, so be careful.
Same when you do a safari in Masai Mara, that's why now I do my safari alone, and then I take 10 days more in Mombasa where I can bring a girl and spend nice time there.

CD.What is this legal stuff that you are worried about? Police will not care if you take girl to the hotel, as long as she is in legal age.
In your hotel, ask what is their visitor policy, can you bring your local girl friend to visit you for a short while or for night? Then you know if hotel accepts. It is better to call them before the trip and ask these questions, then change hotel if they don't accept visitors.
If that girl that you are interested is from your own hotel, probably she is too worried to come to your room, she may lose her job. So you need to find some short time hotel to visit with her, if you get so far.

What is this legal stuff that you are worried about? Police will not care if you take girl to the hotel, as long as she is in legal age.
In your hotel, ask what is their visitor policy, can you bring your local girl friend to visit you for a short while or for night? Then you know if hotel accepts. It is better to call them before the trip and ask these questions, then change hotel if they don't accept visitors.
If that girl that you are interested is from your own hotel, probably she is too worried to come to your room, she may lose her job. So you need to find some short time hotel to visit with her, if you get so far.
You can ask receptionist or that girl that you are interested, if she want to go to have a drink with you, or lunch / dinner. That idea was also good, ask her as a guide to show city. Just ask, you will be sorry later if you did not ask, like you are now. If she is very pretty she is used that customers are asking her out, so she may reject, hopefully politely.

I am from India and I recently visited Uganda and stayed in Kampala. Did read some reports here and also have heard that it is fairly easy to score a girl. However, I didn't have the guts to ask any random girl for the fear of finding myself in any troubles with the law. The place I stayed in had a very nice looking female staff. There's no longer a 90 day visa extension, it's 60 days. So 90+60 = 150 days maximum stay in Uganda.
My biggest fear was malaria. I use a net but am being stung by many mozzies every night. My trip has gone by without any sickness. Haven't used malaria pills.
5 k at any pharmacy for 30 day anticonception pills Mycrogynon FE.
5 k at any pharmacy for morning aftel pills brand Back-Up or Lydia.
100-200 k for abortion pills at the clinic (Marie Stopes is the best clinic).
50 k for ST is basic, prom queens go for 60 k. Most I payed was 80 k but she looked like that. All night works the same 150-200 k. ST is 2 rounds in max 2 hours but many girls will leave after 1 pop. BB is actually called Live Sex here.

I'm only just starting to get into brothels, found the girl of my dreams. Went to Bwaise and started asking boda drivers, found 3 brothels. Don't stick to one driver just ask the next. Reading erotic-africa.com there should be several brothels with students in town, I'm just getting started. 60 k for an hour of live sex will do (incl 10 k for the room). This is a good option for daytime, dear guide they're not all red eyed, ugly and fat. Every neighbourhood probably has at least one, just go there and ask the boda driver. I had worse accomodation in Chiang Mai and Phnom Penh but no running water, you can take them to your hotel.

Up to 10 pm I ride the mini bus. Rides vary from 1-3 k, most go to Old Taxi Park.
I felt safe anywhere in Kampala even late at night, just stay on the asphalt. Only people on the street are boda drivers who you pay about 1 k per km. 8 k up to 12 km. I don't use a boda app, just wave down any guy on a motorbike.
For your 60 day visa extension (free) they ask hotel receipts. I'm not sure if they accept appartment rents? Renting an appartment and buying furniture is more expensive than striking a deal with a hotel. I got a decent hotel with 20 Mbs internet for under $300 a month which was less than half of the daily rate.
I had lots of street food. 1 k for a slice of watermellon, 1 k for a quarter of pineapple. 2 k for a Rolex (pancake with egg and veggies). 20 k for a whole grilled chicken or 5 k for a leg (Muyenga Rd (Capital Pub) is recommended for this! 10 k for a chicken leg with fries. I never got sick. If you visit the dentist only accept the owner.

Mwalimu.I haven't been to Capital earlier than 12 am. You're right there's girls already there but the prom queens don't arrive till 1 am. It's Corona, nobody in the bars are wearing mouthpieces but things in Kampala have drastically changed. 7 years back I picked up girls in Capital at 11 pm. Lot's of places are closed: De Posh, Punchline, Rock Catalina, Koko, Cayenne, Dancer's Club, Newlife, Elliot. All permanently closed. Some places seem they might reopen: Game Club, Valhalla and Rock Garden. Right now they're closed.
You can access the service in William Street and Muyenga Road (Kabalagala) starting at 5 k. In Bwaise girls offer sex starting at 1 k per minute. That doesn't mean one hour of live sex with the prom queen isn't 60 k. I'm not sure of the spelling "life" "live" sex. It sounds like a "v". It depends on the girl.
There's 3 brothels in Kabalagala. One next to Makalays on Ggaba Rd. One next to Capital Forex Bureau on Muyenga Rd (150 m from Capital Pub). They're open during daytime. I didn't have my pick but I think many will.
There's supposed to be these student brothels that opened during Corono, newspaper articles. One should be in Kireka, another one called Texas in Kasangati. I went to Kireka, found 4 brothels in alleys but didn't have my pick. These articles might give the wrong impression, not sure. Still going to check Kasangati. If you take the minibus at Kampala Old Taxi Park (Nakasero) you pay only 2 k to Kireka and 2 k back.
Went to Auto Spa Munyonyo, arrived at 9 pm, parents with kids there. No girls. Some dark alley with girls lined up 500 m further on Ggaba Rd, didn't have my pick. If you take the minibus at Kampala Old Taxi Park (Nakasero) you pay only 2 k to Munyonyo and 2 k back.
So far Bwaise seems best for brothels but I've got a long list to do. Be careful with your wallet. Nobody will violently rob you but they might take cash from your wallet during the deed. Keep your pants in sight, take a rucksack and put your stuff in it. Or take them home to your hotel, clean it up, put everything in your bags. I she's nice and you trust her you can unpack for all night.
If you want to wear a condom Badoo and Tinder are endless. I had better service on dating apps than in any of the bars though they had exceptional girls too, 7 years back was better. Pattaya (Thailand) has a reported 27,000 prostitutes but I'm having more fun / better service here.

As stated in my report, I generally paid 60 k for the night, usually 3 shots (2 at evening / night and one in the morning), 50 k + 10 k for the transport, and 30 k + 10 k for short term, one / two shots. But not all the girls are willing to accept. Some ask 80 k, some 100 k. It's little money, they say. And they are right, considering 250 grams of shampoo is 30 k.
I didn't agree the price with one, who then asked me 150 k upfront once at my place. I sent her home, without even paying her transport. She wasn't staying for 60 k. So it really depends. It is still possible to fuck LT for 60 k with very attractive girls, but it is fair to say most won't do.
Some say no, but if you are firm and don't offer them more, after a few days they will eventually accept. Some they won't even consider. One girl I met at Cafe Javas asked me 500 k per hour. If she can afford a 50 k meal, then she doesn't do LT for 60 k. What she asked was indeed crazy, but some pay so much, even between the locals.
However, if you hunt on the street, you can definitely find good options for a few bucks.
I was surprised that most offered bare / raw without any additional charge. Some asked to get tested before, but I would say raw was always on the menu. This doesn't happen so easily elsewhere. I can't speak for Asia, where I haven't been, but in Colombia is rare, Brazil and Cuba as well. For me Kampala was the easiest and cheapest sex I ever had, and overall the quality was really good.

And they are right, considering 250 grams of shampoo is 30 k.Actually shampoo is pretty cheap! If you want quality shampoo like Head & Shoulders / L'Oréal the brand Sionse is fine, no need to spend more. Something cheaper like Wandaz is less thick, less comfortable but still fine if you don't care.
Carrefour:
Sionse 700 ML 14 k.
Wandaz 500 ML 3100 sh.
Those dingy local supermarkets can be pretty expensive, they often lack in decent cheap brands and add 1 k on top of many products. Carrefour is best value for your money. Almost, fruit and vegetables are cheaper on the street.
For example:
Cola or Fanta 2 l is 1 k more expensive.
500 ML milk is an expensive brand 2300 sh instead of 900 sh.
20 l of Rwenzori water goes for 13 k instead of 11 k.

A kilo of quality pork, beef or chicken goes for roughly 20 k per kilo.
Riham Creamy Biscuits 100 gr just 1 k.

A Wining Star Induction Electric Cooking plate is 150 k on Market st or check jiji. Ug second hand internet website. Bloody cook some soup yourself, you can get by for 20 k a day easily.

Post Corona ruins with so many bars closed. My vacation had a bad start, I hope this will help.
If you're on a blast looking for some daytime / early evening options, here you go. Want to go Live, guaranteed. Otherwise I recommend just going to Capital Pub and use Badoo / Tinder. Depending on what you want and how pretty the girl prices for ST are between 5 k and 60 k. It's common to offer 10 k on top of the price she quoted to have Live sex.
These are hardcore prostitutes who often live, sleep and work in these brothels. Popular girls may have up to 10 customers a day. They won't have sex with you all night for free while they know guys are waiting. Capital and Badoo / Tinder generally offer more time / rounds and better service.
Price without condom:
-Girls with a pretty face and perfect tits 60 k for ST / 200 k LT.
-Girls with a pretty face and imperfect bodies are 10 k cheaper / 150 k LT.
-Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the other 95% of brothel girls might charge less.
After 4 months 150 k Tinder girls still refuse my 60 k offer. This is not Tinder, don't pay more than 60 k for one round of Live sex.
Many of these rooms are very to pitch dark and there's no running water. Some rooms didn't even have a washing tub with a canister of water. I recommend you take a backpack with a towel and some water. Also a battery lamp:
-Kamisafe KM-7603 D Rechargeable LED Lamp (lights the room up bright as day, hang it on the wall) 30 k on Market st next to Old Taxi Park or look for it on jiji. Ug.
-Put your wallet and pants in a backpack during the deed. Maybe hang your pants on a nail on the wall.
You can easily reach these areas with the white and blue minibus (matatus) going from Kampala Old Taxi Park. Kabalagala 1. 5 k and even as far as Mukono (22 km) for just 4 k. On Burton Street (east side of Old Taxi Park) there's street vendors selling change, these are genuine bills.
This is an up to date list, everything exists and is opened right now. 3 to 4 pm is generally a good time to go.
Nakasero:
-William Street is full of girls after 9 pm. Rooms are 10 k.
-Walking into Musajja Alumbwa Rd from Rubaga Rd there's 3 brothels. On the right corner on Rubage Rd is another one and 2 more down to the left on Rubaga Rd (Across the road from Rubis Service Station). These are Rwandan girls starting at 7/8 pm but during the day there's some as well. It's a 1 k walk from William Street, just follow Luwum St to Namirembe Rd and you'll end up on Rubaga Rd. About 20 girls, better looking than William St.
-Hannyz Pub has strip shows on Monday and Friday nights (no hookers). This pub is located on Matia Mulumba Rd (0°18'50.1"and 32°34'10.3"E). Google Maps shows the wrong location. I think the entrance fee was 10 k and 50 k for vip. It's near those Rwandan girls on Rubaga Rd.
Kabalagala:

Three channels are working: Aljazeera, football and moviechannel. Both hotels have good restaurants. The rooms are not to small. Misquitonets are there but no mosquitos; rather some ants. So I don't use the net. According to western standards I would give them 2-3 stars. Rather 2.

The big difference is due to the fact 300.000 is astronomic for this place. 80.000 is without negotiating and for one night. In 2018 I paid 30 USD. Do not worry. If you go to Kampala you find places similar to mine for the same price. My place is 80- 90% empty.

Even the lady at the front desk at my hotel is harder to understand than a Texan. I have been to Kenya many times. Communication is much easier there.
As title says, planning 3 week stay in Uganda, first time in Africa. As I understand Kabalagala is the main hunting grounds. Found a nice spot 30 min walk, 5-10 min by boda boda from it on Airbnb, got planned yellow fever vaccine appointment, e-visa. For transport use boda motorbike taxi on street or Bolt or SafeBoda.

Here is the report:
About me: 40 Caucasian, a bit overweight.
Customs: Have yellow fever vaccination done and e-visa. Then no issues.
Language: Everyone I met spoke English, but most with a funny accent that is sometimes hard to understand.
Internet: Is still an issue. It works, but video calls break up a lot even with fiber connection.
About 10% of the girls are HIV positive. What I did was brought them to Nakasero Hospital for testing.
It's a very professional clinic with modern blood working station and very professional staff.
Its pretty common here to bring your girl for testing, so no worries no one will raise an eyebrow.
Full testing for STDs is about 25 EUR.
Accommodation: Lived next to acacia mall in a small local hotel where I got the "suite", big room no TV but a great bed.
25 EUR / Night. International Hotels are very expensive and have spoiled girls all around them.

Took the bus from Kigali to Masaka and spent 2 days and 3 nights there, breaking up the long trip to Kampala. Contrary to some reports, I found Kigali, and Rwanda generally, a horrible place to meet girls. Capital pub was almost empty 23.00 pm so I comeback at midnight entrance fee was 3 k this time was much more busy probably at least 30-40 girls but just few was looking not bad you can give them 7 points from 10 ranking max I spoke with one I liked we agree the price for 60 k all night she has cute face and nice body and she told me she don't have any kids, but when I push down her blouse I saw saggy tits so I skipped her. Took the bus from Kigali to Masaka and spent 2 days and 3 nights there, breaking up the long trip to Kampala. Contrary to some reports, I found Kigali, and Rwanda generally, a horrible place to meet girls. Before you go I suggest you read this book to get an understanding of the Uganda and tribal cultures, and why the ladies are so willing and happy to please a man. - Uganda the Essential Guide to Customs and Culture by Ian Clarke, you can get it from the online store named after a South American river, at least you can in UK.
Lastly, have a plan be in case it doesn't work out for you, mine was MassageandMoreSpa in Makindye, they have a website, I did not visit or have an out call from them no need. I will be staying a couple of days in both Entebbe and Kampala. My trips aren't all about girls, I like to explore the cities by foot and also like to stay in fairly nice or special hotels. You must be joking when you say you didn't pay anything. If you are exempt from yellow fever vaccine you are more than 60. I was going to Tanzania but changed my plan at the last minute and booked for Uganda (I had a visa for both).
Accommodation:
Someone recommended an Apartment near Acacia Mall. I followed the same book in the same apartment. The location is great. It is a 5-minute walk to Acacia Mall, with access to coffee places and food joints. The apartment was big enough with basic facilities. The bed was basic and so was the washroom. It's not too bad for $40 per night.
It is within walking distance to some cool clubs H2 O, and Catwalk and forgot the name of Third.
The bad: From midnight water & power were gone. It was disgusting to pee and not able to flush. Also, the building is very deep. I mean you have to climb the mountain just to get out of the compound. The Terrace Club is right next to it, expect for some loud music.
H2 O:
Absolutely fun place, The Girls were hot, and most non-pros. Bar girls were hot AF. I pretty much spent the evening drinking and talking to one girl, She kept insisting she wasn't a pro. The problem is compounded by the fact that in Africa hotel (or AirBnB) staff who should protect you will not do so. I speak from experience and I was in a good hotel (Speke). And neither will police protect you of course. It is easy to say after the fact that you were wrong to entertain the girl after she mentioned trading. The problem is compounded by the fact that in Africa hotel (or AirBnB) staff who should protect you will not do so. I speak from experience and I was in a good hotel (Speke). To Dar I did not make it yet, had it on my list but from what I heard and read I had the impression it is below Kampala and Nairobi regarding to general infrastructure and girls. Kampala, Monday: I picked Speke Hotel, partly because I was under the impression that Rock Garden would make the hunt easy. Apparently it never reopened after covid. Oh well.
Headed to Capital Pub around 9 pm. Not many people around, the later the more came in. Before I even got the chance to sit down I was approached by a rather cute and slim 23 year old. Now, I'll be making for the 1st time a trip Mid-April to Uganda and I had more like technical questions:
1- Where can I change my US dollars from the airport or get local currency in the city?. I'll be travelling with both My bank of America debit card and some cash.
2- Is it easy to get a Sim card and phone from the airport?.
3- How is it to get a cab to Kampala where I'll be staying in an airbnb? And how much that could cost me?
Other than that, from your posts, I pretty much know where to find the girls.
But if you have any other tips to give me, it'd be greatly appreciated.

I changed a small sum within the airport even before getting claiming my luggage. Probably not the best rate of course.
In town I withdrew cash with my visa credit card from Standard Chartered not far from Speke hotel. I remember being able to get substantial amounts at a time, with no local ATM fees. Across from the bank was a money changer.
I got a SIM right in front of the airport but maybe that was not the best of ideas. I went for the most expensive package advertised as it boasted the highest internet speed. On the way downtown I realized the speed was very average. I phoned the guy who sold me the package and he said the highest speed was not available so it was to be expected I didn't get high-speed. So high-speed was not available but he sold it to me all the same!
Remember all this was some years ago before Covid so take it with a grain of salt.

Forget BoA but get yourself a Visa CREDIT card. Thats how you get cash in Africa on most ATM's. If you really dare to carry cash $$, there are many money changers downtown along Kampala road. In many hotels you also can pay cash in $$ - but to a higher rate.

After you pick up your luggage, there are 2 booths of the the local telco companies (plus money changer and ATM's). They sell Sim cards and internet credits for the official rate. No scam. BUT: bring your own open phone, even a cheap one. Rent-a-phone is an ancient American thing.
3- How is it to get a cab to Kampala where I'll be staying in an airbnb? And how much that could cost?
Even in Entebbe airport you can log in for free into their Wlan. Have the Uber app on your phone and book your car. Cost about 100.000 UgaShilling to Kampala downtown. Safe and trouble free. Although most airBnB are hard to find. If you not know the place, the driver will give you a nice sightseeing.

1. I brought enough USD to get me through the week. Changed 50 $ or so at Entebbe Airport in the arrivals hall after leaving the baggage claim. The rest I changed in Kampala as needed. There are forex exchange places all over central Kampala, just walk in. Rates always seemed fine.
2. I bought a SIM card at the airport (Airtel) but they failed to register it properly. I had to go to another Airtel branch at Victoria Mall the next day to have it fixed. So there is the option to get one at the airport, but I guess I was unlucky.
3. Can't help you here, I only used drivers arranged by the hotels to travel Entebbe-Kampala-Entebbe.
In central Kampala I mostly walked, if it was too far I took a Boda, strictly Uber at night.

Are you very sure?Well Amadeuss, that's why I said in the last post, that any other tips would be greatly appreciated, but my knowledge would be based on other people posts, now if any want to add their contribution because maybe some circumstances have changed over there, please feel free to update and drop tips.
