Well. Christmas came early this year guys. WTF. After a flawless flight with Taxi Brousse de l Air I touched down from sweaty Nosy Be to cool and dry Tana. Rode in style to my crib near Gare Soarano. Dumped my stuff and went to Glacier. Hey its Saturday night. Loads of expired Hardware around as usual. Some being picked up by touriste de sexe francais. Ugly broads. Wouldnt touch with a pole. But la Buse takes his pick as usual. There were exactly 2 doable semipros around. Voila. Short spinner with good tits shaking her ass against my crotch giving me an instant boner. But alas je fatigue. A friendly turkish engineer donated me something you cant get in Madagascar. A vero puro cubano Partagas numero 4 Series D. One of my favourite Coronas. So I puffed away. Heaven. Next morning Sunday. In the morning I already had 5 possibilities just by walking around. But mostly expired uglies. Hey they waved down from the balcony when I did my patrol down Rue Benyovsky. O lala.
After a rest I went to Glacier again around 1800. The usual collection of uglies and destitute vazahas slurping on their THB. After gulping down a coke. Time to check the SW scene. Or so I thought. After walking about 80 meters from Glacier I was hit from behind. Tight Coast Spinner from FD attached herself to me. WTF. Perfect body. Vamos promenade avec mois a l Hotel pour fair l amour. Je t aime Madagascar. After relaxing and shower I had two Sessions which I rate top 10 of all times. After Lyonnaise Dining at the Y. Two riding sessions ensued. In between we were watching the major presidential debate of the 2 contenders. I dumped 2 loads. Who needs little helpers if you have a red hot dripping malagasy pussy besides you. I'll share my christmas present with you. She ll come again tomorrow a keeper. Where else can you find a sweet semipro for 50.000 ariary.

Who missed most of the presidential debate on TV. Anyway I dont speak malagasy.

Hi everyone,

Thanks a lot to each of you for reporting such interesting contents.

My question is about the weather in the country.

On multiple website, people agreed to say it's very rainy from 01/12 to 31/03.

Some people said it only rains during the night for this period.

If you guys can relate what is actually the truth about weather, I would appreciate a lot.

I'm planning to go to Nosy Be (following Neddy's experience) during March or after.

Thanks a lot.

The Blue Cactus.Generally it rains during the night. I had a few rainy nights already in December. No chica will be around. In February the roads will be rivers within minutes. Again. No chica will leave the house. Youll need rubber boots. End of March should be ok though.

Neddy.
Dont forget the tropical thunderstorms called cyclones. They are like the hurricanes in the carribbean. Nosy Be gets rarely hit. It pays to watch the hurricane advisory. I had already a tropical system brewing in November but fizzled out. That said the most rain is received North and East. Driest Southwest like Tulear.

Hey Neddy,

I will be in Tana soon for s 2 days stopover and of course I want to be based close to Glacier. I was at hotel Artistes but rooms are small and dark, the New Select better room but is a noisy brothel at night!

Any advise and price range?

Thanks.

Hey Neddy,

I will be in Tana soon for s 2 days stopover and of course I want to be based close to Glacier. I was at hotel Artistes but rooms are small and dark, Any advise and price rangs. There are three brand new hotels and a renovating one directly across from LE Glacier. Cheap prices for their cheaper rooms, like 40 dollars.

Thanks.New Select is shite. A mate of mine was robbed by moonlighting taxi drivers which where recommended by the Hotel staff. I always stay at the Relais de Normandie. In fact. I am there right now. Its a bit farther away near Gare Soarano and close to Indra. I always walk up to Glacier. But not later than 2000. After that I take a Taxi back. The best bang for your buck at 62.500 AR. Chambre tranquilles. Big breakfast for an additional 8000 AR. Super housekeeping. Modern clean rooms. Another option would be Glacier Hotel. Similar price. I haven't checked the rooms but I suspect that they are older.

I had a thorough check of most Hotels but I couldn't find a better deal so far in Tsaralanana.

Neddy.
You owe me a THB GM mate. hehe.

But the Neddy's option seems a good one, will try next time for sure.

I guess its this one ? Hotel Relais Normad http://www.hotel-lerelaisnormand.com/

So all in all, hotel Artistes is a good option, 75 k and safe room. Amazing restaurant always full lunch and dinner. But only 6 rooms easily fully booked.

Glacier hotel pretty old, 65 k but not that good quality I have to say.

It is funny how everyone has a different opinion on the same places. For what it's worth, I stayed at Sole 2 years ago and was underwhelmed to say the least. Small room, shit TV (standard everywhere) Wifi sucked and the outside is blacker than Toby's ass. There are no places to eat and drink nearby and the piece de resistance. The fucking restaurant is vegetarian!

New Select varies a lot. My first stay there was fine. Nice room, good Wifi, staff were friendly and the bed was comfy, not to mention it is 50 metres away from Glacier. I had the first room next to the stairs and did not have any issue with noise from other guests. The next time I was at the end of the hall. The room was smaller (too small) and the Wifi signal was shite. Not bad for 70 K if you get room 101. Having said that I am always open to new / better places and will probably try something different next time.

SE.I fully agree. It always depends on the room. Wifi signals. Noise levels. Its my fifth stay at Relais. For example now I have a quiet room away from the street noise. But. In the dead of the night there is a cock crying for hours. Drives me mad. Another time I had a couple shagging most of the night besides my room. Restaurant is decent enough. Around the Corner there are 2 indian Restaurants. And an excellent fast food joint.

Probably Sole is a good bet too. Relais has also bigger and smaller rooms. The disadvantage is maybe that its relatively far from Glacier. Having said that. I never had a problem walking as there is plenty of guards around. Haven't tried to take 2 girls though. Pricewise its the cheapest hotel Downtown. Except a few ST Hotels I surveyed.

Why anyone would travel anywhere to stay in a dump of a hotel is beyond my understanding. OK, they either have no money or that's their comfort zone. For combination of comfort quality at moderate value: in bas ville, Central Hotel. In Haute Ville, Tana Hotel. Viewing the other day, the 3 new hotels across the street from LE Glacier, if you can accept a windowless room, you might like it there. The better and quieter rooms in the back get taken first. But, what's the point of being so close to LE Glacier? Better to stay in Haute ville, walk down the steps by day, or 5 minute taxi after nightfall.

We all have different taste and priorities. If one wants to stay in a posh hotel with a big lobby, sourrounded by group or family travellers -- its his business. If another one likes to stay in a small room with no window but dirt cheap --its also his business.

I did try many hotels in Tana: Sakamanga, Sole, Shanghai, La Varange, Belvedere, NewSelect, Glacier, Les 3 Metis. Name it.

I want to have a clean room, minimum 25 sqm, window or balcony with view, good wifi, firm bed, bathroom in modern design --and most important as fun-traveller: no restriction about whom and how I bring to my room at whatever time of the day or night. No questions asked. In addition at least one of the hot spots at night must be in safe walking distance and for the others, taxis must be easy available.

At the moment the Hotel Tripolista, opp Glacier, is my fav: the new rooms are nicely decorated (choose the room with balcony for 38 EU. The cheap rooms have no window) the elevator goes from ground floor direct to your room floor. Having a gang bang in your room: no one cares. And its located at ground zero of our hobby.

But as said: we all have different fancies.

Arrived last week to Ivato for 30 days trip due to the restriction of visa reported previously. When I got to the immigration I asked for 60 days to test their consistency. Yes I got this time 60 days so maybe I will re-schedule flight back.

Stayed a week in Ivato hotel previously mentioned and non stop sex with mY MILF. Cost is Zero. Then I took the 600 AR white minibus from Ivato to Tana and another taxi from its last stop to my hotel. Same hotel I stay in the last 15 years. 37 K per night.

Bought an electric stove in Ivato for 30 K and a metal Cup to cook my morning coffee. Also bought a pan for 5 k to cook the shrimps for my upcoming beach trips.

Next destination is ile sainte Marie as I saw one ISG guy that has posted some beach modeling photos with a lovely girl so maybe I will get lucky too? Also a few days in Fenoarivo Est in my way back. Last short trip to Sambava to see my GF.

Meanwhile I find Tana is sunny and lovely.

Plus point for the staff. Otherwise, the rooms look nice, but the ones with windows get too much street noise for my taste. Preferred choice of the moment: Tana Hotel.

For super cheap hotel, LE Pave, midpoint between haute and bas'ville is good, clean value (and multiple girl friendly).

Again. Its a normal day in Tana. Weather very pleasant. Some stores closed but business as usual. I am recovering from last nights nonstop session with my perfect 9. Big breasts. 1. 80 meters. An african cul to die for. Slim waist. I saw her already a couple of days ago in Glacier. Looks like a semipro looking for some argent to pay the rent. We were smiling at each other. She moved in for the kill. Shaking her ass in front of me. But I didn't take her. Until yesterday evening that is. I met the chef de Police municipal of Moroni. Comores. Had a good chat. No probs to get laid in the Comoros. After the THB I wanted to head home. I saw my spinner on the dance floor alone. WTF. Shaking her ass. 60 k pour massage. 2 sessions. Totally wet. Now 3 nights in a row bareback Sessions. Fatigue. A sweet queen from Moramanga. The second night she squeezed me for another 40 k. And you know what. I didn't care. 100 k for 3 bareback sessions. And its Christmas too. And the poor lass has to pay rent. Or so she says. Try what you pay for similar services in the sexual wastelands of Europe. In my eyes I would rate her a Nine. My dick feels perfectly at home in her moist wet pussy. Lazy doggy. Yihaaa.

2 cyclone systems are approaching. INTENSE TROPICAL CYCLONE KENANGA and MODERATE TROPICAL STORM CILIDA. So time to pull the plug.

Stepping into LE G last Thursday — for the first time in exact two years — and I'm immediately beset upon by a handful of former encounters eager to renew our acquaintance. As if! If I wanted to do do the same thing two years' later, I'the have stayed married. Yet none were over twenty-two, looking good to the unwary, and still doing brisk business, despite the high mileage. But, since I'm only there to mine fresh young things, of which the supply is limited, after a few nights LE G its a waste. After an hour last evening, with nothing of interest, it was on to Manson where the better talent awaited.

Found the waitress from Les Artisans. The one who speaks good english. After her duties at Manson and later at Taxi Be and finall in my bed.

All same, all pink insde. Only difference: the later the evening and the more THB consumed the prettier les filles.

Don't go there before 2300 hrs. Totally empty. And as Amadeuss pointed out. More or less the same crowd which rotates from Glacier to Manson to Taxi Be. Big venue with the usual Taxi Be Set Up. I have been there twice. There were a few hookers. But the majority well to do malgache couples. Its far off the city center. Music was shite Hiphop Trash. Probably really busy only on Fridays and Saturdays.I find Glacier and after 2300 hrs Manson much more enjoyable. Specially Manson. Good DJ. Gasy Hits. Down and dirty. But also full of same expired hookers as Glacier. I find late afternoon the best time for hunting. I always manage to find 3 or 4 fresh meat there. Not all the chicas have the money to invest in Taxis. All the Taxi Be stop running at 2000 hrs. And there is loads of SWs around up to 2200 which have no money at all and probably are forced to hang out there till the morning. Some of them hot too. For me the best Taxi Be was the one in Tamatave.

Les belles rotate. First stop Glacier, next one Manson and then Taxi Be.Not all. Some girls in Manson won't be caught dead in LE Glacier. And it's not on account of the (sic) prohibitive cover; they complain about the 'quality' of the men in LeG (now, that's a laugh). On Monday, or days when there is no cover, some new faces appear. But just because (if business has been good) they invested in better clothes, quality is no better that what is roaming the streets nearby. Take your pick, get her under the shower, and in the good light of your nineteen-dollar-a-night hotel room.

Time to survey the belly of Tana. Yesterday night I went out on foot. No I was not robbed despite it was past 2200 hrs. And anyway its only 300 meters to LE Indra on a well lit road. I stashed my cash in 2 pockets and some in my socks. At the entrance you pay straight for a drink of your liking. Grand THB 6 k. As you enter you are greeted by the waiters in yellow shirts and black ties. The place is dark and dingy. The feeling is as if you enter a dungeon. Fat chains dangle from the ceiling and separate the dance floor from the bar area. You half expect the mistress with whips show up and string you up by the balls. WTF. Some birds loiter around the dance Floor. Some absolutely doable. This joint has Atmosphäre. Good selector. Dance Hall and gasy music is on. I love it. Chicas filter in and out. Suddenly I see some hot Imerina broads walking past. But they disappear in dead ground. An assshaking chica attaches herself to me. An hour of grinding down on my dick ensued. The chica from Morandava knows how to please a man sticking her tongue down my throat. With every THB GM she becomes more beautiful. She is clearly a full pro. But. Sometimes a pro is an advantage. I took her home. Its Christmas and I am charitable guy. I was not disappointed. A tight snatch and she actually has control of her Pussy muscles. Go figure. It was to be another sleepless night. Now I seriously need a rest after my balls have been drained 5 days in a row multiple times.

If you are not afraid. Try LE Indra.

New online reservation and payment including paypal via their website.

One can claim that with Tsaradia no need any road travel as for 100 Euro you can fly to any city. However don't forget that you need a 40 k taxi to the airport so for short distance city such as Tamatave Cotisse is a good option as you have now morning trip and of course seat selection is available online.

I found nothing in Tamatave as always and the main reason is that I don't consume commercial sex. But I saw sexy girl in a brothel next to Cottis main office. The girl was very tall rounded butt with a body of a porn star sh took me to see the room but I told her that my Minibus just about to leave. Price was 20 k as she said. It was 8:30 AM.

Flamboyant hotel going down from year to year as in most rooms the Aircon does not cool. Price daytime of TukTuk is 1 k.

Fenarive Est- A town with a huge hotel problem they all full and without a good room not possible to explore the area. Overall not a place to be.

SM-Yes start of Jan was still full but the main thing is SM was also going down as no maintenance and street look not pleasant. The only club is "first one" and the location is.

I certainly made a mistake coming to Foulpointe alone. As has been recommended by others, get your girl from Tamatave or elsewhere. Its hard to find a partner in Foulpointe, especially if you don't speak French. I saw a bunch of pretty girls but they were with family or group of friends and it was not easy to talk to them. I went to the little village with a few restaurants thrice to try my luck. The language barrier was very real and the 3-4 girls I tried talking to just smiled, looked around, and went away. I guess everyone knows everyone and they didn't want to be seen with a vazaha. Last evening in town, my driver and I stopped at a small bar on the main drag for a beer. There were two waitresses and just for fun, I kept looking at one of them and smiling. She was on the voluptuous side with an exquisite spherical bottom and see cup breasts placed high up under her chin. When I ordered my beer, I looked straight at her and said "Tsara Be" (you are beautiful). She smiled and the other waitress gave her a thumbs up. I settled with my beer. The first few times she looked at me, she averted her gaze but then she started smiling back. I waved her over once to order a bottle of water and asked her name, age (23), and made small talk. She talked to me but seemed very reserved because the boss was sitting around and my driver was paying full attention and making a formal interview out of it. I mentioned that she must be tired working all day (actually, sitting around) and she complained that she had to work till 1 am. Bummer. I kept working on my beer with the occasional smiles. Until the boss walked out.

I walked over to her and asked her where the toilet was. She first pointed it to me. But I said why don't you come and show me. With a wink and a smile. We went towards the back of the building and as soon as we were out of the main hall, I held her from behind, she turned towards me and puckered her lips for a kiss. The bathroom was a dingy and smelly place. I peed while she stood outside looking the other way. I came back and hugged her, kissed her again. She started walking back to the main hall when I held her arm back. I tried to pull her towards the bathroom though I really didn't want to go inside! She signaled the opposite direction. And we walked into a store room of sorts. We kissed despite her bad breath and she loved having her boobs squeezed. She actually pulled her bra up so I could squeeze them properly. She pulled her nipples hard when I ran my hand down her denim shorts and into a pretty hairy pussy. I turned her around and humped her with my right hand down her shorts and the left hand squeezing and pulling on a nipple. The shorts were too tight to do anything more. All of a sudden the other waitress called out to her and she quick ran into the storeroom to fix her clothes while I ran towards the main hall. That was the end of our quick encounter. It took me a full beer to come back to my senses. I gave her my hotel name and bungalow number and she promised to come at night after work to finish what we had started. She gave me her phone number but didn't pick up any of my calls later in the evening. I didn't hold much hope and called it a night around 10 pm. On the beach, everything goes silent after 9 pm.

There was a knock on my door late at night, and I was a little startled, maybe a little scared, because my bungalow was right on the beach. I called out and the security guy responded, so I opened the door. Sure enough she was standing behind him with a big smile. I thanked the guard and, though I was too sleepy for any action, took her in. There was an awkward silence when we just looked at each other. And then I pulled her towards me, pulled up her top, down with the bra and pulled her nipple. She moaned and aggressively got out of her top and bra as I squeezed and pinched and nibbled on her nipples. While sucking her nipples, I pulled her shorts and panties down to play with her soft and well-rounded butt cheeks. She loved it rough and intense and her energy drove my sleep away. When I got my hands between her legs, she stopped me and signaled that she wanted to shower. I admired her beauty and energy while she took a leisurely shower and soaped herself twice all over. She loved me pinching her nipples and pulling her towards me. We had some rough play on the bed that culminated in her sitting on my chest and bending over so her pussy was in my face and with one stroke pulling my pajama shorts off and taking junior all the way in her mouth. Generally, I don't like going down on hairy pussies, but this one was different. She rubbed her pussy all over my mouth, nose, and chin while sucking my dick me aggressively. She held my butt cheeks apart as she sucked me and inserted one finger in my bottom when I was close to climax. The orgasm was mind-blowing and she swallowed it all. And kept my dick in her mouth until it was soft again. Then, she got off me, and licked me all over again to clean me up. I couldn't tell if this was real or a dream. Twenty minutes later, I was ready for the second round. She rid me while I squeezed her nipples and we ended in doggy. With her bent over the desk and feeling me slide in and out of her while slapping against her soft cheeks. I spanked her hard when I came. She hadn't come yet and wanted a third time. That I couldn't deliver. I fingered her till she orgasmed and we fell asleep exhausted. She woke me in the morning by licking my balls and trying to wake up junior. I fucked her in missionary for a good 30-40 minutes. We could hear people talking outside and I am sure they could hear us too. It was magical.

At 8:30, my massage therapist (an elderly lady who gave me an excellent massage the previous morning) knocked on the door. I was too drained and happy to get up. My girl put on her towel around her waist and opened the top part of the door (the bungalows have a split door). The massage lady was about to come inside and so I got up, covered my privates with my hand, and asked her to wait outside. The massage lady laughed when she saw me naked and my girl topless with a little towel barely covering her bottom. She just stood there and kept looking at us. I put on my briefs while my girl put on her shorts and bra, under the watchful eye of the massage lady. We walked out to the beach and found a nice little tree, under which I got an excellent 1. 5 hour oil massage while my girl just sat there and chatted with the massage lady. There was one funny moment when the lady was working on my belly and I got a boner that popped out of my briefs. She asked my girl to take care of it and my girl dutifully slipped it back inside my briefs. At the end of the massage, I thanked the lady and paid the fee (15,000 including a 3,000 tip) expecting that she would leave and I would take my girl back in the room. That was not to be. The two women kept on chatting. I was in no hurry. There was a nice cold breeze blowing, the shade of the small tree was comfortable, and there wasn't a soul on the beach besides the three of us. I put my head in my girls lap and just relaxed for a while, with an occasional lick of her belly button (which she received with an energetic spasm in her belly). I was so relaxed and getting so turned on that I started raising my head up and trying to lick the underside of her boob or jam my tongue between her chest and the bra. The massage lady said something to which my girl laughed loudly. They both looked up and down the beach to see who else was there, and then my girl gave me a big smile, and removed her bra completely to let her boobs fall on my face. I played and sucked on her boobs like a child for the next 30-40 minutes while she was yapping away with the massage lady. While she gave me a few random pecks on the cheek or ran her hands through my hair when I sucked too hard, she continued her conversation like I wasn't even there. When I took a break and looked up at the sky, she would again give me a quick kiss and offer me her breast!

Finally, the massage lady left and we walked back to my room. My girl just walked around topless and greeted the staff at the hotel. It was amazing to see how open she was about her body and her sexuality! We had two rounds of intense sex in the room before I had to pack up and leave for Tamatave. I gave her some chocolates but she refused to take any money, saying that she did not need it. She asked me to get shampoo the next time I was there! Using google translate, I asked her later what the massage lady had said that caused her to remove her bra. Apparently, she said "your baby is hungry for your breasts. " She said "no, there are people around," to which the massage lady said no one is here so give him your love". If only the rest of the world was as open about love and sex. ! Love can be found in the most unexpected of places. This chance encounter broke a 3-4 day dry spell because Fenoarive was a complete dud. I am sure there are plenty of pretty girls but the language barrier is huge and you need more time for non-pro action. The rest of my trip was good. Pulled a really tiny 5'1", 45 kg spinner from Badoo. She was a freebie with a great body and attitude but no natural skills or energy in bed. Manambato was far and boring with absolutely no action. Need to bring your own girl with you. The waitress from Foulpointe was certainly the highlight of the trip, and hence this detailed post.

Hey Lalecs1, thought you were lost somewhere in mada, but no, even if I agree that language should be a difficult barrier, I read your post with again a great pleasure!

After Tamatave-Fenarive-SM trip I took another journey as follow.

Fianarantsoa- Similar to Tana but worst. When its rain the city roads are become rivers like hulk from avengers become mad. I got there but online reservation with cottiss.

Manakara- Took a TB from Fianarantsoa and stayed in Hotel Resto Delices https://goo.gl/maps/9D2TmFHYWnF2 for 40 k. SIDI Hotel has apartments at 3rd floor that are better then any Hilton room anywhere in the world but its around 150 k. https://goo.gl/maps/C7hCQ1QZfAD2 the place to eat is "La Maison de Poulet" around here https://goo.gl/maps/aDjqjEkJfay just 100 m from the hotel.

The city has two part separated by bridge the beach part of the city has stunning view similar and better then Sambava its around here https://goo.gl/maps/wmrGUHRbLmC2.

They selling huge coconuts for drink for 300 AR only.

The area for mongering is around SIDI hotel that has disco and Hotel Resto Delices several semi Pro hanging around but all hotel stuff can be taken. The big problem was lack of water and electricity most of the time due to City maintenance operation and upgrades.

Also in the beach part of the city several girls can be found. So its a big colorful clean town. I went back to Fianarantsoa with a private driver.

Antsirabe- This is a nice city but look dead, I used it as a transit point to Tana.

Next city Majunga.

.Thnaks for the infos on Manakara. I think it got potential off the beaten track.

Fianar: there are a lot of opportunites on dating boards. Also there is a rotten bar named Chez Charlie. Ample FL's there. Not the class of Tana but dirty and wild.

Fianar is a good place for a 1 day stopover if you use Cotisse-TaxiBrousse to go to Tulear.

Fianar a good place to get laid I disagree. It s probably the most strict city in the country. Never met so many virgins there. Everybody is very religious and girls stay with families so easy to meet them for a drink with their chaperon but forget it if you want to get a quickie the same day.

It seems good times are over for longterm Mada travellers. Visa on arrival is only available for 2 months any more. As of mid November 3 months is not available any more. Also it was corrected on the official french embassy homepage. Which doesn't mean a friendly official is selling you any stamp for a fee.

But there it is.

Well that sucks big time. I am planning a trip mid June and it was going to be for 3 months. Am I correct in assuming that if this does not kick in until November I should not have a problem? Any ideas on whether or not it will still be available after November ahead of time through an Embassy. If I had plenty of time in advance I (or anyone) could do it that way. Saves the hassle at the airport too.

Where did you end up after Nosy Be or was that the end of your stay?

In Tana the extension is nightmare. Anyway Mada now has nothing to offer I think its my last trip and I am already two month on the ground.

In the past yes. As the permitted maximum stay was 3 months. Now its 2 months. Since Nov. 15th, 2018. No any more. If you can read french it says very clearly "Ce visa, dit de non-immigration, n'est ni prorogeable" No extension. Except the illegal business done by immigration officials.

I did a check here from France on Mada Embassy web site and on visa-en-ligne.com, both says that for tourists visa can be of 1, 2 or 3 months.

But on the ground things can vary a lot....

I didn't like the city in particular but was too lazy to explore any other places as I had 2 really nice chics. Not lazy. When you know how boring the other places can be, it's harder to motivate yourself out of Tana. And Tana is easier to like when you're not staying in a dump. New hotel, I stayed in for New Years' can be highly recommended: Tamboho Suites.

No three month visa, no problem. Six weeks in Mada plenty of time.

No three month visa, no problem. Six weeks in Mada plenty of time.I stay in a dump 39 k per night it also used as a short time hotel, thin walls moaning every night. Girls come and go so you can take them back to your room or collect number.

Best method to wait in the reception. Tana is a dump you walk you fall to a hole or peoples will spit without looking and the worst part is that in the mainland Africa there are better looking girls.

I would say a well plan trip for 3 weeks is fine. I have 10 days more now from my 2 month trip. Next destination Bhair Dar Etiopia.

According to my sources the validity of the visa was only 2 months during the elections period. It s back to normal now. You can have 3 months visa again at the airport until further notice so nothing to worry about for those who want to stay long time here.

I have yet to visit Madagascar and am thinking about going later this spring. BUT I know nothing about this country and respectfully am asking board members for help in making my stay as enjoyable as possible. As usual, I have precious little time. I can stay for max one week. So I will not have time to travel around much. I gather that Toamasina is relatively close by so I can take a bus? Are there other destinations that can be reached by bus in a few hours?

There is a direct flight to Antananarivo from Europe so I am thinking I'll stay put there. But then I think maybe Nosy Bee might be better even if I have to make a connection somewhere en route. What sayeth you?

My questions are a typical newbies so I ask for your indulgence. I should add that I speak fluent French.

1. Where should I stay? Which hotels are GF friendly? Do I need to pay a joiner fee?

2. Where is the action at? Clubs, cafes, WG streets, etc.

3. And what about the girls? I'the like to hang with a slender young girl with minimum body damage. Where should I look? What can I expect? The reports on this board sound very enticing.

4. Prices seem very low by comparison to other destinations. How much is a typical punt?

5. Finally, do I need to get a visa beforehand or is it easily available upon arrival?

Please PM me if you not feel like sharing with everyone on the board.

I am well-informed about other venues in Asia and Europe if can be of help to you.

Thank you for your help.

In the province it s different.SunCity Hotel two buildings up the hill from Sakamanga has nice clean rooms for 70 k and suites for about 100 k. And it is a short walk to Manson. Very girl friendly, half the time you can slip up to your room without them asking for your girls ID.

1. Where should I stay? Which hotels are GF friendly? Do I need to pay a joiner fee?
--Anywhere, depending on your budget. No hotel ask for joiner fee, only ID of the girl

2. Where is the action at? Clubs, cafes, WG streets, etc.
--Read the forum... so many places are explained. Depends all on your preferences.

3. And what about the girls? I'the like to hang with a slender young girl with minimum body damage. Where should I look? What can I expect?
---Anywhere -- if you able to pick up a girl in your home country, you definitely can do it in Mada as well

4. Prices seem very low by comparison to other destinations. How much is a typical punt?
--for a newcomer as you are : 100.000 MGA, which is just 25 EU. So what..
once you read the reports here, you will find great infos how to negotiate further.

5. Finally, do I need to get a visa beforehand or is it easily available upon arrival?
---Was just written about a few topics down the thread

Please PM me if you not feel like sharing with everyone on the board.
---Why? this board is to exchange infos but not to hide them

I am well-informed about other venues in Asia and Europe if can be of help to you.
---Thanks, No need--we can read ISG

And if you have a specific question which was not answered here before, I think most of the oldtimers will be happy to help.

Got it?

Visit yesterday Saturday at midnight. Place was full can not move, so so looking girls maybe better then any working girls in other cities but day and night with supermodel students that you can find in Kampala Uganda for example. In fact I took nothing.

The worst part was the street kids outside the place each one holding another one year baby. Total 6 kids holding babies were run after me for 100 meter distance. More clubs in the basement next to shoprite here https://goo.gl/maps/QTuNa4Mcqpv and also full of girls some street girls near.

I Came to Tana from two weeks in Majunga and the "port du mer" has many girls hunting, some with questionable age. The common of all cites is all girls look very hardcore and very little chance to get better quality as you can easily pick any girls in some of the east african countries. Anyway "La Suite 101" club in Tana is live and kicking its near my hotel.

https://goo.gl/maps/wEGHL1wE39r there also local bar opposite the club around here https://goo.gl/maps/LidNBKASSPH2 this area has less beggars and more easy to breath.

One last things two police try to stop me walking asking passport I didn't stop and keep walking fast. While walking away told them that its in my hotel room, then one was asking which hotel I told him the name while increasing my speed as I disappeared. Since I have a week now before my bahir dar trip I will try some MP around this area.

Or walking? Its all not far but the police is looking for vahaza's as you did experience can be a nuisance.

Meanwhile copies of passport and visa are no longer accepted. You have to carry your passport in original with you. Even one step outside your hotel. That they didn't come after you, consider it as luck.

I also never take taxi so if a police call me I just keep walking and tell them that everything OK. So they can run after me or arrest me or go fuck themselves. They never run after me as I increase my speed when they start to call me.

Also in Thailand when police officer flag me to stop I increase my motorbike speed and disappear. In Tana I just walking but same idea.

Thank you for your help.First of all, don't waste your time, don't travel around, infrastructure is not very well. Decide for one destination. I would recommend Nosy Be for one week. Antananarivo is not a place for holiday.

1. Nosy Be, Hotels, Nobody knows what you expect. Send them an email or call them. Here are hotels recommend. Check this thread.

2. Ambatoloaka, at the clubs and at the beach. Small area, everything is easy to find.

3. Girls, you'll find them or they'll find you (clubs or beach). Another option are dating apps like Badoo or tinder. There are more. Download badoo and start to communicate with them now and later meet them in a restaurant or anywhere else.

4. Price depends on you and the girls and of course how long do you spend your time together. You speak fluently french, that's good for you to negotiate, so always speak French. If you are not sure how much to pay sit down in a bar and talk to other guys around they can share experiences and prices. It's not expensive. Talk about the price before you go to the hotel!

5. Visa on arrival at the Airport. I think about 35€ for one month.

General info for nightclubs in Madagascar, maybe that will help you.

https://maps.me/catalog/recreation/amenity-nightclub/country-madagasikara/

There is also a French board with lots of information and you can download a pdf full of information in French. Everything is explained, Hotel recommend. https://youppie.net.

the basement next to shoprite here https://goo.gl/maps/QTuNa4Mcqpv and also full of girls some street girls near.
"La Suite 101" club in Tana is live and kicking its near my hotel.
https://goo.gl/maps/wEGHL1wE39r there also local bar opposite the club around here https://goo.gl/maps/LidNBKASSPH2 this area has less beggars and more easy to breath..'Full of girls'? The club next to the new shoprite and underneath the Tana Hotel? Its clientele is Arab and sub-continentals, a cohort not known for seeking out best quality which is reflected by the women who go there.

La Suite 101: as of a month ago, as before, it's only open weekends, and attracts the more affluent and better dressed Malagasy. Tell us all about what you picked up there, NmExpert.

Since when? Before the elections a certified copy of passport made at the city hall was always accepted.Correct. In the past it was ok. I also used a copy of the visa page but together with my original ID (not passport) and it was accepted. ".

And NmExpert: you may be a good runner. But they are good shooters as well. To play with those thughs because of a problem to be settled with 10.000 MGA risking whatever?

SE.I am half Arab half Moroccan from the middle east. I think is in our DNA. But go to Africa who will give you money? No one even if you die they will do everything not to give you anything.

I lived years in Mtwapa Kenya and has some disputes with girls over 1000 bob sometimes is was ended with brutal punches and blood to the face. But give me 500 years to evolve to reach your level of the European culture. So I will do everything to avoid confrontation. Meanwhile I am the one that initiate them when needed.

And about Amadeus comment let me tell you its has nothing to do with Logic as its "only Small money" its about Ego, cultures, money. Look around you this is why all wars are starting not because of any logic and motivation to avoid confrontation.

So keep enjoying to contributing 10 k to the police every time they feel they want to fuck you.

I walk all the way from "La Suite 101" to Manson. I never carry passport or anything at night for the last 15 years.

You don't take taxi at night and you don't carry passport with you. Seems to me you are asking for troubles buddy. You might not get lucky all the time.

And it s easy to play tough on the board but if police arrests you and you don't have any ID with you and you don't want to pay anything let s see how you feel after one night "au violon" like they say. Even local people fear the "violon".

Hi guys,

Long time no more info about Nosy. And besides, all what I've found is very ambivalent. I love beach and chilling but most important is for sure our hobby. I plan my next trip and I have already seen Tana, Toliar and Tamatave. Every city has his advantages and disadvantages but all in all I have loved it. Nosy Be is totally different? Now it's time for me for something new. Experts, what would you say? Maybe some recommendations? Would be great!

Thanks to all. I have of course already read the old entries about NB in this forum. My intention was to collect more impressions / opinions because of the ambivalent statements and the older ones are eventually not really up to date. But I think I will give NB a try!

Some words about the listed cities. It's just my opinion and I'm a bit strange. My french language skill is max A1. But doesn't matter. First of all: Mada is not save, especially at night in dark surroundings. So always be careful and everywhere you go you should wear your passport. I don't want to explain exactly but sadly I have made my experiences. Accept of hotel and transportation everything is very cheap. But transportation is really complicated.

Tana: It's more interesting as I have expected. You can find good food, sweet girls are everywhere and when you was not successful over the day go in one of the clubs at night. My favorite is Indra. Buy a beer at the entry and breath the crazy hot atmosphere.

Toliar / Ifaty: Totally different and all more relaxing. Everywhere these pus-pus, big markets, good restaurants also, some discos all in one street, not many foreigners. I can't describe the vibe. North of Toliar is Mangily. It's a paradise if you are in one of these bungalows at the beach. I didn't want to leave.

Tamatave: More green, not nice beach, also the beach in Foulpointe is not really nice. Difficult to go there but I have had a motorbike. I've driven with my bike in the north of Tamatave. This beach. Whauuu. Not for swimming because of sharks and currents but the nature. So many kilometers just sand, ocean and jungle, unbelievable. Many clubs with sweet girls but I guess that most of them are really pros. But who cares?

Sorry about my English skills. But you should hear my French.

Hi all so I am about to make reservations for a short trip to Tana but I am wondering about safety. I may stay in SOLE hotel. Any tips about this hotel are greatly appreciated as well as advice about staying safe in Tana. Reading some of the posts on this forum I do not get the impression it is very safe after dark and.

Also, I am wondering about the best place to meet really nice looking Malgashy women.

And advice is much appreciated.

I will be arriving late on the AF flight form Paris and also wonder about taxi. What is the best way to get to my hotel. How much?

Thanks.

Thanks.Hotel Sole is ok. Tana isn't safe, especially when it's dark. Be careful and use always a taxi, when its dark. It's cheap. Don't except anyone else inside the taxi than the driver. Your friend, buddy is ok. Always lock the door. Talk about the price before, always. When you go out you always need your passport, no ID card, driving license or anything else. Original Passport! Once ago a legalized copy was ok, but that should changed.

Best place is glacier (not fare away from sole hotel). During the nighttime use a taxi. But there are more places.

https://maps.me/catalog/recreation/amenity-nightclub/country-madagasikara/

Online dating, tinder or badoo is also an option. There are more.

At the airport there are many taxis, the original taxis have a license. Some don't have a license. Store your luggage at the back and make sure it's locked. The normal rate is 50.000 Ariary or 12,5 Euro. ATM and money exchange at the airport. Make sure that you have the correct address of your hotel. Many people don't speak English, not even one word. Communication is difficult or you speak French.

Sole Hotel offers an airport pick up service for 60.000 Ariary or 70.000 Ariary. It's the easiest way and not much more expensive.
Safety advice, you travel alone? Don’t be an easy target, don’t be drunken and walk around. No expensive clothes, watch, cam or anything else. Put your money and valuables in the safety box.
That sounds more difficult or dangerous than it is, just be careful and everything is fine.

Go to Madagascar, but stay in Tana as long as necessary. Spend the rest of your time anywhere else. I cannot recommend Tana for vacation. There are recommendations for many different places on this board. Without speaking French it's difficult or complicated, but not impossible. I was at Nosy Be, better than Tana. I can recommend this place, especially for a first trip. If you write more detailed what do you expect from a Madagascar or Tana trip, others could recommend some nice other places.

Cheers. There is a law! And in case you have bad luck, you will be as foreigner a target of a heavy punishment:

Malagasy penal code:

"The facts of helping, assisting, protecting, sharing the proceeds of the prostitution of others, of maintaining even with his consent a person for the purpose of prostitution, of acting as an intermediary between persons engaging in prostitution or debauchery are punishable:

- 5 to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of 4,000,000 to 20,000,000 Ariary.

And in addition, to understand why most hotels are very strict in demanding IDs of the girls. To register them as guests:

ART 334,334 bis and 335 of the Malagasy Penal Code.

Any manager, manager, hotel clerk or other establishment accepting or tolerating the presence of any person engaged in prostitution shall be punished with the penalty of:

- 5 to 10 imprisonment and a fine of 4,000,000 to 40,000,000 Ariary.

In reality, its tolerated. But you shall watch your back.

You forgot an important point. Under 18 years. Otherwise you could shut down ALL hotels. And the prisons would be full of gasy men. As long as she has ID stating she is 18 years and above everything is cool. If the ID has been bought or the Village elder certified another age... thats a different story... And what happens deep in La Brousse another story again.....

Madagascar selectively criminalised consensual adult-to-adult prostitution but applied the new law to foreign tourists only. It was underlined by a French TF1-channel documentary in 2008 (links below, in French) during which several male tourists were arrested in Nosy Be. Some spent months in jail as they arranged to bribe their way out of a law permitting sentences of up to 10 years.

Clearly the French authorities, through the use of national TV to collaborate with Madagascan law enforcement, were intent on scaring-off sex tourists. But the subsequent fallout and loss of tourism earnings apparently dissuaded the country from invoking the consenting-adult sex-tourist law in such a well-publicised manner again. In 2009 the army ordered incumbent president Marc Ravalomanana onto a Joburg-bound plane at gunpoint; a fractious decade of political and economic instability ensued. The Malagasy still weakly enforce the pre-existing law against sex with mineurs but it is a sad fact that UNICEF discovered 75% of the local men who patronised prostitutes were using mineurs.

The age of consent in Madagascar used to be 14 years before. As it is until this very day in several European countries. The main reason many african countries raised age of consent also Kenya BTW was to stop [CodeWord902] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord902) girls being married off against their will and consent to wealthier older locals. Basically girls were sold off by their destitute families. Still happens to this very day. All this so called Sextourist crap is just pure rhetoric as we all well know. Ya I know about that TF1 documentary. As I said. You might as well declare the whole of Madagascar an open air prison. Lock up 80% of the male population and that includes La Police. And hard to prove. I just slept with my girlfriend and gave her taxi money in the morning. Try to prove otherwise. You might as well declare shagging illegal. And judging by all the posts so far I classify you as lurker who recyles old information on the internet without ever having had the guts to fly to Madagascar or elsewhere for that matter.

Most newbies at least pretend to have read previous reports and done some searches. I suggest you do the same and then come back with the questions. There is plenty of info on Nosy from the last few months and this forum isn't 10,000 pages long.

Its time to write some report about my 1 week stay at tamatave because have some time now going back tana with cottise. Honestly probably it was my best african trip from 6 diffrent african countries I visited for mongering. Girls have here better attitudes, very rare late at meetings, don't make big dramas and give great performance at bed, just a problem almost any girl speak english but google translator helps a lot. Also madagascar is very cheap compare with other african countries.

In 1 week time at tamatave I have 15 diffrent girls all was great have just one small drama all girls was between 18-25 years old allowed many pic, including naked and some videos. Girls don't have good phones here with nice cameras so they are happy if you make pic for them and after send on facebook or whatsapp.

Girls prices: most of the times I pay for short time between 30-40 k ariary but couple of times give girls 50-60 k k for great performance like ass licking and other things and if they stay as long as I want.

Long time I was paying 50 k ariary most of the times. Most girls I take was facebook friends, taxi be girls, la terrasse girls.

Streetwalkers: the road between la queens club and la terrasee its calling boulevard joffre at night time have 5-15 street girls also they hanging around la queens and sharkis bar. They even here on strong rain standing with umbrellas!! One night I was walking this road and ask one girl how much she want? She told me 40 k ariary I just laugh and walking away she shout ok 20000 ariary come, but this girl was not my type.

Nightlife on weekdays best places to find girls are la queens, la terrasse and taxi be. 2 years ago la queens was great place, but when taxi be is open it goes worst not so busy like anymore.

On weekend I checked other places:

Club la paradise: on Friday night it was busy don't see any foreigners just many local malagasy guys have some beer and left. Some girls suggest me before don't go this place because security is not good here a lot of stealing and fighting.

Club pandora: entry fee was 10 k ariary have live band not so much people any foreigners stay little bit and left.

Club pattaya: entry fee was 10 k ariary was fully packed, was playing nice music many girls and local guys also couple foreigners.

New York club modern nice place its good for chilling or to come smoke shisha on Friday night it was not so busy.

Neptune hotel I think also have disco but I didint check out this place.

Transport: most of the times I use pus pus it paid 1 k ariary (locals pay less like 500-700 ariary).

Taxi prices is 5 k. Tuk tuk I pay 2-5 k ariary depends from distance (locals also pay less.).

Kamagra prices at pharmacy is 8800 ariary for 4 tablets 50 mg works good. I try couple of them.

Monthly salaries :for unskilled people still same low! One waitress i fucked told me she getting 140000 ariary per month and other sales assistant girl i fucked told me her colegues at work getting from 150-200k per month depends from expierence.

Threesomes: I have 2 diffrent threesomes at tamatave one of them was my best 3 some I have in my life! It was proper one: girls was playing each other, licking pussy, kissing and all other things I want. They stay more than 3 hours, both was really beautiful with great bodies allowed many pic and some videos. I give them 60 k each for this not forgetable performance. Other 2 girls also was good I give them 40 k each stay couple of hours.

Smal Drama girl: I take a girl from taxi be we agree all night for 50 k I fucked her she was good at bed. In a morning she asking me 90 k I just laugh and give her 50 k and told go! She was not leaving and ask more money again. I get angry take her hand and take her out from my room and lock the doors. She was knocking the doors and said I am sorry I don't want more money let me stay with you!! I told her bye!! She left later she call me and send apologize sms I just block her on my phone.

Local Brothels near cottise transport:

I was going to buy my van ticket back to tana and decided to check this place just for fun and some adventures. If you entry cotisse transport area from petrol station on a left side you see girls sitting near houses and calling you to come in. It was maybe 6-7 girls outside not good looking one of them was so so I decided give a go. I walk and girl take me to the room I ask how much for sex? She told me 30 k ariary and 5 k for room I just smile and said this room 5 k its for all week? Seems she not understand what I mean. I told no!! I. give you 20 k for everything and she agree. She suck me for a while after put condom I fucked her little bit but even don't bother to cum it was hot inside so I decided save my power for other girl and left. I will add pic of the room of this place.

Have a great time at madagascar really enjoy this trip!

Arrived from tamatave the journey takes 8. 5 hours with some traffic. Check in again at sole hotel and ask to book me a taxi after 6 hours to airport. Taxi price 60 k you can get cheaper on the road but night time with all my bellongings I prefer take hotel taxi.

Have a quick shower and went to la glacier around 7 pm evening was live band maybe 20-25 girls inside and around 5 foreigners. I saw the girl I like and start chat with her on google translator. I offered her 40 k for 1 hour she text me 60 k. I told her I want 1 h not all night price and she agree for 40 k. She was good at bed and make me cum.

Later I went to manson but around 9 pm it was way to early just 10-15 people inside I have one beer and take a taxi back to la glacier. Around 21.45 pm was more people I saw the girl I like and start conversation on google translator, same story I offer 40 k for short time she want 60 k but quickly agree on 40 k. We comeback hotel I fucked her so hard even broke something inside her pussy and a lot of blood come it was not nice and it turns me off. I take a shower girl also, later she make me blowjob and I cum I give her 50 k. Girl left I prepared wait a taxi and left for airport.

Which hotel do you stay at Tamatave? Which price?

So many girls and photos in 1 week! No one of them wants to stay longer with you, I mean, want to see you again and stay with you?

One girl in Antalaha come to see me again with one of her friend in the morning after she left me, she knocked at my door. She told me that she will call the police if I don t erase the photo of her that I took last night. I erase but I retrieve them later.

She was angry that I didn't stay with her.

Sole at Tana, good location, but must be careful cause some rooms don't have windows and the others have small windows, not good for pictures unless it is at night!

Arrived from tamatave the journey takes 8. 5 hours with some traffic. Check in again at sole hotel Nice reports and photos. Thanks.

Which hotel do you stay at Tamatave? Do the girls ask you more to take them in pictures? Some are without the head, do you remove it or the girl didn't want you to take her face?

I have trouble one day at Antahala with one girl that I asked to leave after one night together. I took pictures of her at night and 1 hour after after she left she come back with a girl friend and knocked at my room 's door.

She asked me to erase the pictures if not she will call the police! I erase the pictures in front of her but I retrieve them 10 minutes after with a software. Same thing happened to me in Tana 10 years ago, I have to throw a memory card, but.

I didn't throw the one with the picture, I throw an empty one.

In 1 week you get 15 girls, but the girls must recognize you and thought that you are a butterfly, how do you manage this?

I saw that you are adventurous by visiting the brothel near Cotisse at Tamatave. So do you already try the girls on the streets near the Sole Hotel? There are many.

At sole hotel you must be careful cause some rooms didn't have windows, and the ones which have are small, so not nice to take good pictures or video but at night it didn't make any difference.

At La Terasse and Taxi Be is the hardcore. Why get off your barstool in Angeles City or Pattaya for that even if you can get them for like twenty dollars. The beauty of Africa and this country is you can start talking to any girl (unaccompanied during the day) that catches your eye. You can be sure they most likely have nothing to do and will trade phone numbers. In Tamatave, staying at Sharon Hotel, nearly all girls accept invitation for a swim at the pool and it's a great way to preview them. Any girl out alone after dark is looking for a revenue producing evening, but too many single moms. Tsaradia return flight to Tana is 6:20 pm Daily at the moment ($87 usd with bag) no reason to subject yourself to the Cotisse ordeal.

Note: VIP club next to Hotel Neptune.

Almost all girls I meet want repeat with me! They was calling and texting me almost everyday. Like example I fucked one girl next day I come to eat at la terrase and saw her sitting next to me on diffrent table I say Hi for her and order the food and beer and start look at my phone. At this time she start send me her naked photos of her on my facebook. I look at her and smile. She text me in french language do you want me lets go now? I said baby next time. After 20 minutes I saw other girl at la terrase and take her instead. Even the girls saw I take everyday 2-3 diffrent girls they still want repeat and don't care. It just pure business. They are so desperate about money its not so many tourist like thailand or philippines and some of them go without costumers some nights. Here is easy even get girl 7-10 am morning you just text them or call and they come on time. (not like kenyan or ugandian girls sleep till 2 pm and late 1-2 hour at meeting).

You pay girls for sex so its your right to choose which girl you want to fuck and also most of girls at la terasse and taxi be know each other or are friends so if you fuck one others will know it. Some girls from taxi be and la terrase told me many girls like you here because you young and fuck good. I told them back: I also pay maybe what's why they like me?

Tamatave girls are great can't complain about their services.

Sole hotel at tana is fine I was staying here 4 times and never get a room without window. You should make a note for them you want room with window if you book on agoda. I saw freelancers near sole hotel but i never try them most of them is not good looking.

So I will not be able to come to Madagascar now and probably not until Christmas. I had so much been looking forward to it and had made several good contacts on FD dating. Does anyone have any god feedback on this site?

BUT my boss decided otherwise and I have to stay put here.

HOWEVER, I will be going to Thailand soon to tie up some business. So I guess I should not complain too much.

But I wish to thank al of you out there for your helpful advice. T will come in handy when I do go to Madagascar ad hopefully I can spend a week or more discovering all the joys of this island.

Thanks.

Any advice on a good hotel in Majunga near the center (action) for under AR 100,000? I saw that NewMadaExpert recommended a couple last year, wondering if there is any other opinions or more recent info. And any opinions about discos / bars? I was there very long ago, more than 10 years I think, and there was a hopping place called Shakira (when the singer was very popular) and a smoky bar with pool tables called, uhm, "Rock and roll cafe"? Found some very hot spinners.

Thanks for input.

Thanks for input.I stayed last year in hotel Coco Lodge. Very good hotel is the city center and in front of Taxi bé Bar, a pick up point for girls.

Very clean rooms, good A/C, nice pool and most of all a very good restaurant.

That's also important in order to stay healthy in the tropics.

Thanks for input.I was last month or so in Majunga and I stayed in "hotel central" and Anjary hotel. Each has its cons and prons. Central is 55 k and anjary is 80 k. Central is always near full booked as it used as Monger hotel. It has WiFi and A/C but it basic. Some room the A/C and mattress are weak so check all rooms.

Anjary is a step up in every way. I even took a friq from 100 k room and moved it into my 80 k room.

"Port de mer" is the main mongering area so just walk or take tuk tuk for 1000. For 1 k you can go everywhere in every time including night with a tuktik.

Port de mer has it all including some scams so first thing you check very carefully the ID of the girls. You will get all kind of offers there. I did the trip with a car but for next time better to fly.

Mada Expert. My buddy and I stayed at the Coco Lodge. Forget the price. But the location was pretty nice. Hotel is ok, food is very good and the pool area is pleasant. The cool thing was that we could basically walk across the street and we were at the taxi be. The quality there was uneven. Certainly some acceptable ones.

The other thing nice about the location is that it was not far to walk to Shakira and the other bar next to it. Forget the name. Also uneven quality but some winners.

Finally, an underused opportunity was the walking around the area by the ocean beach (the malecon). Lots of goodies there that were obviously on the prowl and the occasional looker. My buddy totally scored a winner there just by saying Hello,. I, due to my negligible french was not able to fully take advantage but it is all there. Looks like prime time walking around there maybe 7 to 10 ish. Depending on the day of course.

Where is Port de Mer? Not sure that we hit that place.

Where is Port de Mer? Not sure that we hit that place.Ocean beach (the malecon) is a Dominican republic terminology, beach road is Thailand term and "port du mer" is the same exact thing used in Mada.

So in Majunga if you want to go to the Malecon aka beach road you tell the TukTuk driver Port du Mer.

Same place.

A bord de mer. Malecon. All the same. On the sea shore. My french was non existent 5 years ago. Now its decent enough thanks to this superb app called mille. Basically its a a vocabulary trainer available for android. I can hold my own talking simple french with 1000 words. Now I try to tackle kiswahili. Its just so much more fun to understand the language and immerse yourself in malgache culture.

I was wondering if there is an office of Tsaradia at Tana airport.

My flight from Addis will arrive at 2 pm and I want to take the flight to TuléAR at 4 pm.

I don't know 2 hours is enough to make the transit?

When I buy the ticket online and my flight from Addis is too late I loose my ticket.

So when I buy the ticket at the airport I can also take the flight next day in case I am short in time.

#2: Going through Immi, getting your luggage is minimum 1 hour. No chance ot buy a ticket and get on the flight.

Either you buy the ticket online and risk to miss the flight or you simply fly next day. Mada is not for the people in a hurry.

Amadeuss is right. Little chance you will have time to get through immigration, buy a ticket and catch your flight. Last time I went I was through immigration and out the door in under 30 minutes. The time before that it was 2 hours and 30 minutes! He is also spot on about not being in a hurry. Buy online and be prepared to lose it or just say to hell with it and spend a few days in Tana if you must wait for a flight. That is what I do now, even though I used to hate Tana, my last trip I found it tolerable!

Loads of students take their lunch break strolling around the lake. Lots of curious glances and friendly ca va s from sweet young lasses. I found decent fully furnished apartments in haute ville. Good clubs good restos a wide range of chicas. And not sweating my ass off when shagging. The worst polluted and traffic jammed area is of course the area around avenue de l independance. Hi,

I am planning a one month trip to Madagascar, including a one week stay in Nosy Be during the last week of April. Should I be worried about the rain that time of year in Nosy Be? I can stand an occasional shower but would prefer to avoid long days with no sun in sight or worse: long rain showers for hours on end (I have had bad experiences in Mada). As photography is my hobby (besides P2P) I like to walk around a lot during day time, with rather vulnerable camera equipment. Persistent rain would kill that alternative hobby. Of course I checked the weather stats, but they only provide general reports and I would therefore much prefer first-hand experience.

Also, can one expect girls in good numbers by that time and season of late April in Nosy Be? How 'seasonal' is the supply?

Alternatively, I might postpone my visit to Nosy Be until the 2nd week of May, but with considerable disadvantages for my schedule in other respects. Would the travel plan difference (last week of April vs 2nd week of May) be sufficiently critical to be considered seriously? Or would it be negligible weather-wise and girl-wise? Again, I would very much appreciate first-hand experiences as they often provide more concrete detail. Thanks in advance!

The road deteriorated last rainy season. Even my mate a Nosy Be resident flew back from Tana as it took him 5 hours longer as usual. I'd personally fly. Or if you do only Nosy Be as NMExpert pointed out fly direct with Ethiopian.

Hey guys,

Am planning to come to tana for a short 3 day business trip, just needed some advice.

Is the place safe to walk around? Airport immigration and baggage and security is it safe or do I have to bribe around everyone and anyone? I don't speak much french be hence the concern.

And ya good places to pick up chicks, clean ones.

Would be great if I can get some pointers.

First you tell Pokeris to avoid the Ambanja. Diego road because it is hell and not worth it. Then you say land in Nosy Be and take the same road to avoid Tana. Make up your mind.

Neddy the last rainy season wiped out the road much like the last rainy season before it and the one before etc etc! I suspect it is always shit and always will be. 2 years ago I ran into a French expat in the immigration line who said some blah blah development bank was going to fix it soon. Sure. Next.

As for 2799. No it is not safe. You will be robbed and raped before you even get out of the airport parking lot. Do not come without and armed bodyguard and thousand of dollars for bribes. Fuck, did you even read back one page?

Thanks!During daytime it is safe, after dark always take a taxi.

At the airport you need to give sometimes money to skip luggage control at customs. But small note of €5 is fine.

Not speaking French is a problem because few people speak English and many times only Malgasy language.

So expect a language barrier.

Arround the airport there are lots of massage places. Chica Soa is a good upscale place.

And in town LE Glacier and LE Manson are the best pick up places.

Neddy,

You have been so kind to provide an overview of some accommodations in Nosy Be. You quote Hotel Ylang-ylang for 50-60 k. However, on the internet they advertise a double room for 45! Could the difference between pre-booking and on the spot negotiation indeed be that large? I would be surprised. I know that in general it is better not to prebook. However, I will arrive at NB airport around 18:00 o'clock and would prefer not to have too much hassle finding a decent hotel that late in the evening. Any suggestions (from anyone)?

Visited Tulear and Mangily from 24 to 31 December 2018 (3 nights in Tulear and 4 nights in Mangily). Although, there was not much to do in Tulear during the day, Mangily is a nice place to hang around for a few days.

So, let me describe my stay there.

I had a stopover of one day in Reunion Island during both trips Mauritius to Tulear and back as Air Austral does not have connecting flights within a reasonable delay. I caught an Air Austral flight from Mauritius at 6 pm On Sunday 23 December and reached Reunion Island at around 6. 50 pm Stayed overnight in an Airbnb. The flight from Reunion Island to Tulear has a stopover of over one hour at Fort Dauphin. The Tulear airport is very small but the building is new and clean. Although, citizens of Mauritius do not have to pay for the visa, we still have to get a document from the visa counter before the immigration Officer stamps the passport.

There were a few taxis outside the airport building in the parking area. I was quoted MGA 25,000 to drop at the Serena Hotel. One Tuk tuk driver quoted MGA 20,000. Finally, one taxi driver convinced me to pay MGA 13,000. I had no choice as it was really hot standing in the parking area.

It took me around 20 minutes to reach Serena Hotel.

I stayed at Senera Hotel for two nights before going to Mangily and one night after coming back from Mangily and before flying out of Tulear. The first two nights, I stayed in the Deluxe Room 202 on the second floor. If you book directly with the hotel, the room rate is MGA 95,000 but since I booked through booking.com, I paid around 111,500 MGA per night.

The Deluxe Rooms are quite big. Two towels were provided in the bathroom together with toiletries. There is good water pressure in the rain shower. Hot water is also available.

The bed was comfortable. The AC works well and is not noisy. Internet is quite fast. There are only 6 TV Channels.

Breakfast is served on the same floor as the reception but it is only basic: tea / coffee, juice, eggs, croissant.

The staff are very kind and helpful. There is no issue of bringing a guest but she has to leave the ID at the reception.

On my return journey, I had booked a Double Room which is found on the first floor. Since the room is small and there are frequent movements in the lobby and the reception, I requested a room on the second floor. This time I paid MGA 108,000 only and I was given room 201. Room 202 is better than room 201. In Room 201, there is some inconvenience as water spills over while taking shower. The Hotel should fix a shower curtain to avoid this problem.

Etoile de Mer restaurant.

It is located on Boulevard Lyautey. If you are coming from Serena Hotel, turn to your right. It is a few metres away from Amazone Hotel. Etoile de Mer restaurant is big place with tables both inside and outside. I went there for dinner on 24 December at around 8 pm. However, there were very few people at the time. I had ordered gratin au crabe (MGA 15,000) and filet poisson plus purée de pomme de terre (MGA 20,000). The portion served was adequate. But a little expensive for Madagascar standard. At first, I sat outside so that I can have a look at Tam Tam disco. I had to move inside the restaurant as the breeze was too strong and also as it was Monday, Tam Tam was closed.

LE Jardin restaurant.

If you walk from Serena Hotel, just after Central Hotel, there is Lalana Raseta. LE Jardin restaurant is found on this road. People know this restaurant as LE Jardin de Gian Carlo. As I wanted to have sea foods, I had to choose from panier or assiette fruits de mer. I was informed that panier fruits de mer is suitable for a family. So, I chose assiette fruits de mer at MGA 37,000. Well, it is huge platter of sea food such that two or even three people can eat from it. As it was Christmas, the restaurant was crowded. May be it is very popular with local people.

Corto Maltese restaurant.

It is located on Lalana Raseta just before LE Jardin restaurant de Gian Carlo. The restaurant serves sea food and brochette. However, I had vegetable pasta which quite good. Although it is a nice place, the service is slow.

Oasis Café.

It is located at the end of a corridor a few metres away from Serena hotel. Nice and cosy place. It serves mainly pizzas and burgers. I had a pizza which was quite good.

I reached Hotel Serena at around 1. 30 pm I was allocated room 202 on the 2nd floor. It was very hot and very tired after the flight from reunion Island with a stopover at Fort Dauphin. I slept at around 1.45 pm. I woke up at around 3.30 pm.

I enquired at the reception where I can change Euros into MGA. The lady at the reception indicated one shop a few metres on the same side as the hotel. I changed 1 Euro at MGA 4,000. Not sure whether the bank was open on that time on the eve of Christmas.

I walked to Score Hypermarket to buy some food items in case there were no restaurants open. Back to Serena, I took a nap. I woke up at around 6. 30 pm, showered, secured my luggage and walked towards Amazone Hotel where I met one girl. Started a conversation with the girl sitting on the steps of Amazone hotel as she showed some interest. I asked her what she doing there, to which she replied, she was looking for a boy, understandably not very fluent in French. As I started walking towards L'Etoile de mer restaurant, the girl asked whether she could accompany me, I just told her may be some other time.

So, I had dinner at L'Etoile de mer restaurant, which is a few metres away from Amazone Hotel on the same side. At first I sat outside so that I have a look at Tam Tam Disco but the wind was very strong and as it was Monday, Tam Tam was closed.

After dinner, I came to the crossroads just in front of Amazone Hotel, many girls walking around with some smiling and others flirting. I smiled at one girl and asked her whether she would like to come to my hotel, she agreed. When I asked for her "carte", she said she had forgotten it at home but she can have from one of her friends. I declined.

After walking along Boulevard Lyautey, I came back to the crossroads in front of Amazone Hotel. After a few minutes, I saw one girl who attracted me. I smiled and she responded. I asked the same question and she agreed and had her "carte"also. So, off we went to Serena Hotel, hand in hand.

I went to the reception so that she can leave her ID. The night staff was a man. He didn't say anything.

In the room, she said her name was Lauremsia, 20 years old. She was short, may be 5 feet tall, slim, fair complexion, curly hair, good size boobs and very sexy ass. We showered together during which she gave a BBBJ with lots of cuddling and kisses. I also fingered her there.

After drying ourselves, on the bed we started again with kisses and hugging. She did give a very good BBBJ and we did in many positions, missionary, doggy, she on top. She was a little tight. I asked her whether we can try anal, she accepted. We tried but not successful, she was very tight, mine is big and there was no Vaseline.

We enjoyed for around 90 minutes, then showered. I took her number and asked whether she would like to accompany me to Mangily as I was going there on 26 December. She said she would let me know when I would phone her.

I saw her till the reception and gave her MGA 30,000. She left very happy and I returned to my room, very tired and slept at around 11 pm.

I woke up at around 6.30 am. Went to the reception with clothes for laundry. I had breakfast at Serena Hotel, on the same floor as the reception: croissant, poached eggs, juice and tea. Back to room, as I was still feeling tired, slept from 9 am to 12.30 pm. After waking up, lazed on the bed reading newspaper and surfed on the net. I could see from the window, the weather outside was sunny and very hot. The roads were deserted.

Took shower, secured my belongings and walked to restaurant "LE Jardin de Gian Carlo" and had lunch at around 2. 30 pm. Back to Serena Hotel, took a nap. Woke up at 6. 30 pm Showered, secured luggage and walked towards Amazone Hotel. The roads were crowded. Lots of young people. Many enjoying Christmas Party. There was a musical concert in the public garden in front of Amazone Hotel.

I walked around with lots of girls smiling and flirting. I met one girl Noëlla, 20 years old, who was 2 friends. She agreed to come to hotel but didn't have her "carte" with her and it would take her one hour to fetch it. I declined. I also asked her whether she would be willing to accompany me to Mangily, she agreed, so I took her mobile number and told her I would phone her on 26 December in the morning before going to Mangily.

I met another girl, Nathalie. She agreed to come to Serena Hotel. We walked together to the hotel. Left her ID at the reception. We showered together. Had a great time with Nathalie. She was thin, a little tall, dark complexion, long sexy legs, good size boobs and a great ass. We tried different positions. She enjoyed the sex as much as me and we finished with she on top.

Cleaned, showered, gave her MGA 30,000 and saw her till the reception. Nathalie did not have a mobile, so could not share. Back in the room, surfed on the net and slept again at around midnight.

Serena is an excellent hotel. I had room 204. However, as Neddy has insisted, prebooking with Booking has its disadvantages. I will report later. My main question remains unanswered yet: where is the action? I explored the avenue with bars along the seaside yesterday evening. Deplorably little action there. I settled for one girl who, somewhat to my surprise, showed up at my door. She turned out not to have an inkling about good sex. I'll explore again today. So are there any good suggestions for Tulear? I extended my prebooked stay here in Tulear because I remember Neddy recommending Tulear as, I believe, "the best place in Madagascar". Thanks in advance for anyone with useful information.Go down toward the beach front, action start around the two last blocks, be careful at night as one girl told me that around bars there could be some risks, but I didn't saw any issues when I was there. Then on right at Hotel Amazone, on the boulevard Lyautey, restaurant L'Etoile de Mer is a good place to eat and watch girls walking on the boulevard.

Girls hang on the boulevard when the night come and long after.

May be there are other places which i don't know.

And try to go to Ifaty, less than 1 hour by cyclopouss, nice small village with wonderful beach and hotels, massage girls on the beach, and some others hanging in the village at night, or bring your own from tulear...

I am wring reports from my visit to Tulear and not answering your question (s). However, if you need advice, when you walk from Serena Hotel before you reach Amazone hotel, you will find few night clubs on your right hand side where you can find lots of girls. Just greet and smile and see their reaction. If they are interested, they will reciprocate. Otherwise, from Amazone Hotel you walk along the Boulevard Lyautey in both directions, lots of girls in the evening. Make eye contact with those you like, there will be few who will respond back. If you can converse in French, it will be better to communicate with them. After visiting Toamasina before, I find Tulear as good or better for girls.

Thanks Manfield. Any good advice, please?

Any good advice, please? You are already in Tuelier and you see no action so its mean you need to go to Pattaya. Otherwise Mada is low key the bars in touliers has alot of beggars not really safe place.

Sure some working girls but I found daytime to be better around the market and evening around Pizza Gastro. Toulier for me is not a place to come back the action is not consistent and I was there for a month.

She left very happy and I returned to my room, very tired and slept at around 11 pm.Great report, Mansfield! Keep up the good work.

Looking forward to read your report about Mangily.

At what time the night guard starts his shift at Serena hotel?

I woke late in the morning, showered packed my luggage and checked out of my room. I walked to the reception to inform them I would be checking out. In the meantime, I had breakfast at Serena Hotel restaurant, same as previous day: croissant, poached eggs, tea and juice.

Kept my luggage at the reception and walked to Telma Shop which is a few metres away on the other side of the road from Serena Hotel. I bought one Telma SIM Card.

There were few taxis beside the Telma shop. So, enquired about dropping me off at Mangily. One taxi proposed MGA 60,000. Another one also proposed MGA 60,000 but came down to MGA 50,000 immediately when I was trying to walk away. Finally we agreed at that price.

Collected my luggage from Serena Hotel reception, paid my bill for 2 nights and off to the taxi stand. Phoned both Lauremsia and Noëlla to ask whether either of them would agree to accompany me to Mangily. Unfortunately, no reply from either of them. So we left Tulear at around 10.40 am.

Mangily reports will come soon.

My question is does anyone know if there is a difference in online booking prices and on the ground offices with Tsaradia like there was with Air Mada? I know it was often 10-20% cheaper to buy once in the country compared to online.

My observation is can anybody think of a reason why flight prices to Diego are so erratic? I was looking online for around the end of June and the lowest I saw was 123 euro all the way up to 206! This was over a span of about 2 weeks. The average was probably about 150. Just for the hell of it I looked at Tulear for the same period and it was quite consistent with fares between about 90 and 110 and NB a bit more variation but again from about 100 to 130. I can't think there are so many bookings made for Diego 2 months in advance that the prices have risen that much so what's up?

Another question that just occurred to me. Now that they have transitioned to Tsaradia is the service / on time results any better or just the prices? If I had to guess I would say the latter.

prices have risen that much so what's up?.I saw it too its gone up dramatically so again the solution is to land with your international flight in Nosy be and forget all domestic flights. I was at the office trying to hunt prices but bad idea since you will face fully booked flights at astronomic rates.

Unfortunately that is not an option. I have already booked a return flight to Tana and plan to visit every major city. That means an awful lot of taxi brousse travel or flying. I am thinking of doing the Cotisse trip to Diego now that they offer the route, then overland (I know one of the worst roads in the country) to the boat to NB and then flying back to Tana. Other destinations can all be done by Cotisse and / or other companies like to Tulear. Will probably TB there and fly back as I am going for almost 3 months so I have lots of time and want to see what that route overland is like anyway.

Since I have the luxury of time I am not worried about fully booked flights. I could buy a ticket for NB to Tana in Tana or Diego 3-4 weeks before I need it. Should still be plenty of available seats in that time frame.

I know it is a couple months away but I will post on my dealings with Tsaradia for up to date info when I get there.

SE.In fact Air Mad office uses the same online booking platform. No difference in prices. The prices depends how fast a flight is filling up. The more bookings the higher the price. Tsaradia hired more pilots and leased more ATR 72's. So far its far more reliable and flight cancellations seems to be a thing of the past.

I think Diego is only one flight a day versus Nosy Be 2 flights daily. Apparently Tsaradia is under german management.
Its quite possible that there are more bookings for Diego as there is quite a number of rich karanes and french expats. Last time in Mada it was also not easy to find a seat to Diego. I booked in Air Mad at that time. The employee said: Gasy people have money... Look at the vanilla price...

Neddy.I explored all of this recently, and there is now no advantage to buying in country, and there are no longer local vs tourist (Vazaha) prices as Air Mad used to do. I used to get local friends to buy my tickets in country and paid a lot less then I would online. Now the online prices are the same as going to the office in country. There are several levels however, ranging from no checked baggage (cheapest), to baggage but no changes, to changes with fee but not refundable, to fully refundable (most expensive). And as you get closer to the flight date the cheaper classes start to disappear, so they are apparently limited in seat number (like fare categories on most other airlines. Madagascar is catching up with the rest of the world). The great thing is that the cheaper fares are dirt cheap in comparison to anything that Air Mad used to offer. The down side is that you need to book well in advance to get the cheaper flights on the most busy routes, whereas previously you would get the same fare at the last minute. That is definitely no more.

And unfortunately, I did not share the same experience as Neddy with reliability, and had a flight canceled out of Tana after waiting hours in the airport. Hopefully that was an anomaly and reliability will get better.

One other observation, on the scary side. On one of my flights we had a VERY rough landing. As we came in suddenly the pilot dropped the plane down hard on the runway, bouncing so much it hurt to strain against the seatbelt (I would have been out of my seat if I was not wearing it.), and then the pilot hit the brakes HARD to slow the plane rapidly. It seemed like he nearly overshot the runway from what I can tell. That makes me really worry when Neddy reports they hired more pilots. In addition, I have noticed a general deterioration in a lot of things that I did not think could get much worse, reliability and competence in general, from restaurants to hotels, etc. The exchange rate is getting better for us, but that mean things are more expensive for the Malagasy and their economy is worsening, and the country is deteriorating. The new president will not help, only worsen it as he continues to pillage the country for his and his cronies wealth.

Arrived Sunday evening at the airport 2 diffrent international flights land same time so was busy takes 1 hour till get 2 month visa for 40 euros. Check in at sole hotel and take a taxi to cottisse transport want buy tana-ambanja ticket for next day but its was fully booked so buy for Tuesday morning also was just 2 seats left. They not show this route for online bookings yet so can't book online in advance. Take taxi back to glacier it was poor collection around 7 pm evening saw one girl I like offer her 40 k short time and walk back hotel with her. She was great allowed many pic, ass licking, ass fucking, cum into mouth anything I like. She stayed 3 hours and make me cum 3 times so at the end I give her 60 k. We walk back glacier with her I didint see any new girl I like so I decided invite same girl go with me look some clubs and have some beer. We go la suite 101 it was closed on Sunday after taxi be it has a lot of people most of malagasys and couple vahazas. Have few beers and take taxi to Indra club. To get inside you need first pay for drink after they give you piece of paper an when you inside you give this paper for bartender and he give you a drink. This place was full on Sunday but very local have no vahazas, many drunk malagasy guys and not good looking girls. Poor selection you can find better girls at manson, glacier or taxi be. Have one beer and walk back to my hotel because its just 300 metres away. Keep the same girl for night. She make me cum 2 times more and stay till 3 pm afternoon. Probably one of the best fuck I have at mada. I give her 40 k more and send home.

Later evening around 10 pm I check glacier it was like 3-4 vahazas inside and 20-25 girls inside some live band playing I didint see any girls I like have few beers and want almost go check manson club but suddenly good looking girl come to me from nowhere and say bonjour. At first I didint recognise her she has diffrent hair style, but later I remember it was same girl I fucked 2 month ago on my last day at mada. I liked her so offered her 60 k for all night she quickly agree and we walk back hotel. She was fun to be and good at bed I send her home 10 am in a morning with 60 k. Have breakfast at hotel check out and take taxi to cottisse transort for my trip to ambanja...

So will give some update about my trip with cottisse tana-ambanja for 80 k ariary they also use same van tana-diego (90 k ariary) just on the way droping people at ambanja and carry on to diego. Van is leaving 12 pm daytime from tana and come ambanja 8. 30 am morning (20.5 hour trip) and 4 pm diego (28 hours trip). They have 2 diffrent drivers so they change. Everybody have their own seats, have tv inside which plays malagasy video clips but not have wifi internet at van also all the way telma signal is very weak so internet connection is weak or don't have at all just bigger cities catching strong signal. Van have speed limit 80 km per hour so if driver goes higher its starts beeping all the time. First short stop for toilet was after 4 hours drive and second stop 30 minutes for food was just after 8 hours drive so is better to take some snacks with you. Third stop was after 15.5 hours drive for toilet again. The last stop was just ambanja van drop people and carry for diego.

I meet one guy at cottise van inside he travelling to diego and told me he works at cottisse and he speaks some english. He told me after 3 weeks its will be posible to book this route online and after 3 month they plan to start new route diego-nosy be. We will see it truth or not.

The trip was not so bad I though it will be worst. Probably kill the dog on the road when he run straight into the van. The driver even not stop to check any damage happens for van. Also the road half way to ambanja from tana becomes really bad many holes in tarmac.

Thanks for the transport update. I intend to do almost the same thing end of June but I was intending to take the entire trip to Diego. Now that I know it is 28 hours I'm not so sure! Even the most comfortable trip is not any fun after 28 hours. Fortunately by then I should be able to book online. You are going to break your trip in Ambanja? Do you know if it is easy to get on another Cotisse bus the next day? Since they are now doing this route I suspect word has gotten out about how much better they are than most companies and everybody will want to use them.

Can't help but wonder if they are going to expand to Tulear one day.

I enjoy your reports so keep it up. I am interested to see what you think of Diego. The last few posters to wander through didn't seem to think much of it but I have always liked it.

Enjoy.

SE.I ask at cottise office at tana can I book separate ticket from ambanja to diego next day the lady told me you need buy ticket from tana to diego for 90 k because they not doing this route separate ambanja-diego. She means I can catch the cottisse van next day at ambanja I just need pay full amount to secure this seat. I think even cottisse don't have any office here yet at ambanja. They just dropping people of here. So I will probaby go tomorrow with kofmad transport. I ask them in a morning today they told me come around 8 am and will have van. Stayed at hotel LE meridian they have rooms for 30,40,50 k ariary. I take for 50 k with aircon, fan its a budget hotel without hot water but its very near la concorde and nirvana to main clubs at ambanja. The guy at hotel is nice person and speak english. Hotel is girlfriendly and no problem bring 2 girls. Town have just couple vahazas standart places to eat one is at hotel patricia open from 12 pm and other at hotel palma nova open from 6 evening. I come to ambanja already with 4 girls contacts on facebook but meet just one. Others find excuses not to meet me or was busy. The girl was 18 years old was fine at bed I give her 30 k for short time. The city is boring at daytime nothing to do. They have just pus pus here yellow tuk tuks operate outside town. I make a lot of walking here and didint see any foreigners.

Nightlife at ambanja which I visited.

Club concorde on weekdays open as a bar and on weekends is a club was not busy small thb beer is 2500 ariary.

Bar select nothing special place.

La romance karaoke bar.

Nirvana club on weekdays open as a bar and on weekends is a club was quiet place maybe 7-8 people inside small thb beer is 3000 ariary. I find here 2 girls friends one is 19 other is 20 years old invite them for threesome at my hotel they was good at bed and funnny girls allowed many pic. After 1 hour I kicked them out with 30 k ariary each.

My suggestion if someone want visit ambanja better to come on weekend when clubs is open and not stay more than 1 day because you get bored.

I woke up 5 am was lazy to wait till 8 pm for kofmad transport so take unnamed taxi brousse to diego.

I get just seat in the back next the african girl who was carry small baby he was crying all the time, the girl change his pampers next to me and drop old ones on the floor and left. On other seat was sitting women and carry 2 chickens on the floor one of them was coming next to my feet everytime I was kicking him out!! Neddy has the right of it. I have only done the Diego Ambanja trip once and that was in a shared 4 x 4. It cost me 40 dollars but was worth every penny compared to what you just went through. I highly recommend you pop into all of the travel places in town and give them a time frame for when you want to leave. Be flexible, there are not that many opportunities. BTW as I recall the TB from Diego to Ambanja runs over night, just to add to the misery. Good luck.

Johnny.Ya. There is one company which goes every night from Diego to Ambanja direct. I wouldn't take it. Go to the Gare Routiere in Diego the Day before your intended travel and avoid the ticket touts. Just choose the Company yourself. Make sure they operate the bigger Mercedes Sprinter busses like Kofifi or Kofmad. Avoid UTA. Or as you pointed out shared 4×4 which needs some pre-planning. Go and see the receptionist of La terasse du voyageur. They have numbers of the consolidators and organize a place in a shared 4×4 to Ambanja.

I agree with Neddy. Take the 4 x 4. That is a very good price. Just eat the night at Ambanja, get up early and head for NB. You also have the advantage of avoiding the hassle and hussle of touts and just plain liars trying to get you on the "last" boat of the afternoon if you arrive after 3 PM, which is likely. Complete clusterfuck at the boat launch area late afternoon. Also the wind kicks up in the afternoon and if you are on a smaller boat there is a good chance you will get soaked.

BTW, how is Diego working out for you? I plan to be there in a couple of months.

SE.Spot on. That's what s happened to me. Late afternoon the pirates try to extract extortionate fees and the waves were backbreaking just before sunset. And soaked I was too. I'd rather spend a night in Ambanja.

Stayed 1 week at diego suarez it was enough for me last days I get bored already. The city is more nice here than other cities at mada and seems much safer to walk at nights at main tourist areas. All nightlife is very close to each other in walkable distances.

Eating:

Diego have many restaurants so everybody will find something they like.

I can recommend la cumbusa restaurant its very simillar to la terasse at tamatave. Food with big portions and normal prices also they have english speaking stuff.

Transport:

Yellow tuk tuk prices is everywhere 1 k ariary at town even for longer distances like example from taxi be to taxi brousse station. Taxis is 2 k ariary for short distances at city.

Hotels:

I stayed at 2 diffrent hotels.

LE valiha hotel the owner is french very nice guy and speak good english they have 2 types of rooms one ground floor for 40 k ariary big with air con, fridge hot water, mosquito net, wifi was working at reception, its budget hotel so don't except some luxury but for mongering its fine. They also have nicer rooms on 1 floor for 70 k ariary but owner offer discount if I stay one week will be 60 k ariary. I choose chepaer room on ground floor. Its near to taxi be and la vahinee.

Ambassador hotel is probably best mongering hotel at all diego for 50 k ariary per night. Big thanks for NMexpert who recommended this hotel.

I like this hotel a lot its something very simillar to flamboyants hotel at tamatave just little bit better for smaller price. They have big rooms, with quiet air con, wifi everywhere, hot water, fridge, the even have bath at bathrooms, comfortablee bed and quiet place also reception stuff speak english so was no problem to communicate. This place is near letincelle and black star club or just opposite grand hotel. I highly reccomend this place its perfect for mongering!

Grand hotel swimming pool its a nice place to spend some time with a girl if you want relax or get bored. To use swimming pool cost 15 k ariary for day They give you towel and selling drinks for reasonable prices like for posh hotel small thb beer 5000 ariary.

Nightlife:

Letincelle. Probably the second most bussiest club after taxi be its open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday other days was closed most crowd is mixed some pros and normal girls. Its aint great selection of the girls here.

Black star club- this place most of the times was completely empty 5-6 people inside I just always walk in and walk out.

New bar- other place which getting not so many people I never seen a girl I like here.

Nouvel hotel disco I visited this place just once on weekday and it was completely empty.

La vahinee bar you can find girls here day and evening. Its get busy at evenings after everybody is move to taxi be. I like this place for drinks or listen life music every evening. They have many girls here just a problem most of them are not good looking and expired. In one week time I saw just 2 girls here I liked. Its open everyday.

Taxi be most bussiest place at all diego weekends is fully packed you can find 50-80 girls inside but honestly is poor selection all girls is not good looking In one week time I saw just 2-3 girls I liked here and it was just on weekend. Weekdays I never see a girl I liked here. I fucked just 2 girls from here in all week.

Now the most interesting part where I get all my girls? In one week I fucked 8 diffrent girls all was young 18-21 years old but 6 of them was facebook friends from diego. I come to diego little bit prepared with 25 - 30 girls fb contacts. I never seen this all girls at diego clubs or bars. The prices I pay is 30 k short time most of the times and 50 k all night I never get any complains and girls seems was happy with it. Couple of times I give 40 k for short time but this girls make me cum few times and was super great at bed. Most of mine girls was great just few of them refuse blowjob (because they never done it in their lifes) and was not so good at bed. Also some girls refuse to meet AR hotel room because of ramadan and one its not show up at meeting time. Facebook way was working not so bad for me so I can say my mongering was not so bad but not also very good like at tamatave last time. If I don't have any fb contacts it was not good at all. I agree with other mongers who said nightlife at diego its not great at all for girls most of them not good looking and expired. But if you come prepared with facebook contacts it can be good way to meet nice beautiful semi pro girls. People speak here less english than tamatave so most of the times I was using google translator for communicate with girls because I know just bonjour and adision in french. Anyway after 1 week I get bored here and now on my way to nosy be with taxi brousse.

Wow I am impressed. Wonder where you got these chicks from. Maybe I was just there at the wrong time of the year or I was just unlucky. Looking forward to a full report.I agree with you girls at clubs was expired and really poor selection. I have a europian friend at diego he was staying for 3 weeks and fucked just 2 girls from clubs because of poor selection so I share my facebook contacts with him and he get more girls from here. Diego can be good place for meetimg normal girs. All my facebook contacts i chat agree to meet me but maybe 40 percent refuse after they get a question? Are you interested to come my hotel room if i give you money? Also it probably is good destination for people who speak good french so they can pick up normal girls everywhere, but for pure mongering without any french like me i better suggest tamatave or even antananarivo its a shithole city but never lack of good looking girls.

Seems like the bad streak for Diego continues. I have never had too much trouble getting laid there although I am not the pickiest guy on the planet. It's funny that you get girls as facebook friends that will fuck for money but they don't go to the clubs and look for guys. Trying to be "good" girls that don't want everyone in town (it is rather small) to know they are part time hookers? Another reason I think already mentioned is some may go to NB where there are more potential customers and nobody knows them. I think you will do well in NB. Neddy sure seemed to enjoy it.

Take fifidi transport diego-tana which drops people at ambanja also. Can't complain for trip. Van is half empty I get seat next to the driver, they make one short stop for toilet and other at ambilobe for lunch. Van quiet comfortable everybody have own seat and its not stops for dropping or collecting people. We left diego 8. 30 am morning arrived at ambanja almost 16.00 pm so its total 7. 5 hours trip. Ticket price is 30000 ariary. I will stay one night at ambanja and carry on tomorrow for nosy be.

Front seat next to the driver is one place I would never sit. The experience of witnessing a passenger skull crack a windshield is something not easily forgotten. Buy two seats, in back.

Diego: see gangs of sextourists, table for eight, patronizing Mada's hardest core. No thanks. Check the box, if you must, and why not. Once.

Checked in at same LE meridean hotel this time I take smalller room for 30 k per night and I can tell you it was looking better than room for 50 k last time, just a little smaller and without airc con but for 1 night was great.

Try to contact few facebook contacts but they refuse to meet because of ramadan. I text other facebook friend and she agree to meet it was 21 years girl with curly hair very cute face, nice attitude she don't speak any english at all. She come my hotel and we go out for dinner have few beers and comeback room fuck little bit and went out check nightlife together.

La concordia bar was completely full with local girls and guys everybody was sitting and enjoy beer seems they not see foreigners very offten here so everybody was loooking at me with a local girl we have some cheap thb beer for 2500 k and nice grilled chicken on the fire for 15 k ariary and go check out club nirvana around midnight. Its was not so busy 15-20 people inside probably 8-9 girls 2 of them was cute but I was with girl so don't make any contact. This place is tipical malagashy disco everybody was dancing alone and look at themself on the mirror on the wall I have few thb small beer for 3 k ariary and left.comeback hotel fuck again and went for sleep. Wake up in a morning give girl 50 k ariary and left for nosy be.

Sounds like you can find fun anywhere. Keep going! And thanks for on the ground info.

I am curious. You seem to use facebook an awful lot. How do you get around not knowing either French or (I am assuming) Malagasy? If you are translating everything you must go to a shitload of effort figuring out what they are saying and than having to come up with your own translation to reply. I am on Facebook but must admit I am a pretty basic user and do not go past reading posts in a few forums I am interested in. To give you an idea I have 3 "friends" in 5 years. On purpose.

Have a good time in NB. I am sure you will.

SE.I don't speak any french or any malagashy I use just google translator for chat with girls or google translator conversation function when you speak in english and its translate straight away to french and opossite. Girls have patient here and seems they always interested chat on phone. Facebook can be good way meet semi pro girls or even pro. I always find some girls from city of madagascar I want to go and after going on her friends list and adding more friends and so on this way you can build 100 of girls contacts. Just send them friend reguest and text them bonjour and wait their reply. Facebook mongering sometimes working great for me at many countries like Colombia, Cuba, philippines, uganda, kenya madagascar and others. This times is hard to find a girl around a world who don't have facebook so it can be a great way to get some contacts and also you can look many photos of the girl on her facebook. It works better for me than dating sites.here at nosy be dont need facebook contacts girls is everywhere just yesterday i collect 7 contacts phone numbers from girls i like and fucked 2 of them. Reports will follows later..

And I agree that facebook, can be a very good way, as it seems that every girl must have hundreds of facebook friends, its very easy to pîck up in their friend list, not hidden usually, and then just check the one looking interesting based on pics, location, etc. I did not practice that a lot, but I tried some and once you ask for being friend, very often, they accept you, like if it was a competition to get the more facebook friends they can. One thing interesting to watch also is if they have many westerners in their friend list, good indication, even if not enough, about the semi pro or pro status of the girl.

Good to see this working fine.

We stay tuned and expect the follow up.

From ankify take a fast boat to nosy be for 15000 ariary it takes around 40-45 minutes. Go out of the port at hell ville and was looking for tuk tuk to ambatoaloaka I ask how much its the price they start said me silly prices like 40000 ariary I know the price is 3000 ariary for locals I try 3 diffrent tuk tuks but get again silly prices like 20000 ariary or simillar nobody want to negotiate and take me for 3000-5000 ariary so I give up and find the tuk tuk driver who accept 7000 ariary for trip to ambatoaloaka even I know I overpaid.

Hotels:

I stayed at hotel ody for 2 nights the room price is 60000 ariary also they have rooms for 70 k. Its simple budget basic hotel, have hot water, fan, good wifi, mosquito net, but some rooms can be noisy because its on main road and windows divided in small parts so you can't shut them properly. My room was into some local house side with chickens so they make noise every early morning. I decided check some other hotels which neddy69 was reccomended on ISG forum before and find great one!

Robinson crusoe hotel. This place just round a corner from ody hotel. I like this place a lot for 60 k ariary you get all bungalow house with quiet fan, good wifi, warm shower, sitting area outside, mosquito net, and quiet at nights and days because it out of main road. Owner speak some english and are nice guy!

Nightlife at ambatoaloaka is small and everything is very close in walking distance so not need tuk tuk but in case you want use it its 1 k ariary.

Biliard bar (disco) just next to (taxi be) many girls inside always can see at least 1-3 girls I like thb small is 5000 ariary.

Taxi be -plenty of girls live music every night most of the times see some girls I like. Thb small 6000 ariary water 4000 ariary.

Sirene disco late night place get busy when taxi be and biliard close and not open everyday but probably every second day entry fee was 3000 ariary.
Thb small 5000 ariary.

Djembe disco also open not everyday its start late also when bilard or taxi be is closed and everybody move here. On weekend entry fee was 5000 ariary on weekdays its was free. Its just opossite sirene disco. Thb small 5000 ariary.

Taty chris. Its a bar (disco) at beach little bit futher away I think its open just sundays start early at 18.00 pm but have great atmosfere inside proper malagashy disco my style!!
Cheap beer prices thb small 3000 ariary. I was impressed with this place I come around 9 pm and it was fully packed its big bar (club) was probably 200-300 people inside many local malagashy guys and a lot of girls probably all island was partying here on Sunday. I collected 4 numbers from girls I liked and fucked 2 of them next days.

Eating:

Plenty of cheap and some more posh places for food. You can have here zebu brochet big portion for 10000 ariary at some local places or chicken with rice for 8000 ariary or omlet for 5000 ariary.
Many local places for cheap beer between 2500-3000 ariary for small or big bottles 4000-5000.

Girls: you can pick up girls here everywhere, beach, clubs, bars, at streets. I just ask them numbers and every girl give it, later I text them and they come my hotel I fucked 10 diffrent girls in 5 days all between 19-22 years old and paid 30 k ariary for short times, sometimes I was giving 40 k for great service like ass licking or cum into mouth. Long times I was giving 50 k. I never get any complain about money from any girl I have here and most of them have nice attitude and give good or great service. They all was texting me on facebook or on phone for repeat next times but I very rare take same girl second time. I rented motorbike and explore all island the busy places just hell ville and ambatoaloaka. Other parts is quiet. I collected 25 diffrent girls contacts already but use 6 of them.

Nosy be (ambatoaloaka) probably is the easiest and safest place for mongering in all madagascar even blind can get laid here just wave with 3 notes of 10000 ariary and girls will come to you!! You can always find a 2-3 girls per day you like without problems. Now I understand why neddy69 was staying here long time! I also like here, but one week will be enough for me its time to move on Friday!! Next stop mahajunga.

Will share some girls pic from nosy be on next post when finish trip at island.

Wow.

Very nice, very informative and very positive review Sir. Your description does a lot to back up the good things that have been posted by Neddy and others.

I spent last January and February in Mtwapa, and while I found the town and the area to be very much to my liking, the heat was difficult for me. I will do some research online about the weather in Nosy be, but I wonder if you could comment on it in general for me please?

I am considering a return to Kampala, Mombasa and Mtwapa in July and August as I was told by folks in the know that the weather is a little less intense from June through September. I am guessing it would be similar in Madagascar?

I am also interested in visiting Zanzibar, so it may be that a big loop through Kampala, Mtwapa, Dar / Zanzibar and on to Madagascar may be the thing to do.

Thanks again for taking the time to post a very useful, positive and informative report. Such reporting as yours and others who share solid, actionable information are what keeps this board a viable resource.

Thanks again,

Cheers and good travels.

In Tulear, I stayed at Serena hotel. I had booked with booking dot com, so I paid more but if you book directly with the hotel, the double rooms on second floor are at MGA 95,000. A little rooms on first floor are MGA 75,000. There are other hotels in the vicinity which are cheaper. You will have to enquirer with them.

In Mangily, I stayed at Hotel La Bella Donna. I had a beach front bungalow. I paid MGA 90,000 per night. Of course, there are cheaper rooms at other nearby hotels.

A couple of years back I stayed at Hotel Saifee in Tulear. It was 70 k and perfectly fine. Decent size room, pretty good WiFi which is likely better now. Good bed, good bathroom and AC. Very close to la Terrasse restaurant and 5 minute walk to the action (just walk downhill towards the water). Almost all the action seems to be in a few block stretch. I don't think you can miss it unless you go in the day and it may seem quiet. At night plenty of girls normally strolling around and in a few bars and discos. Look back at some of the more recent posts. Some guys are having good luck just wandering around and asking a girl for a number.
