The whole European airline sector has gone through some painful times. Gone are Swissair, another fine airline in its prime, Sabena, the Caledonian (which used to service West Africa) and many others. In fact, when I am sleepless, instead of sheep, I count airlines that went out of business.
Sabena has now been replaced by SN Brussels Airlines.
Caledonian was aquired by British Airways back in the 80's.
Yeah, Swissair was a fine airline company that collapsed after 2001, but more airlines in Europe emerged than collapsed. At the moment I can't recall any major airline company that went out of business than Swissair and Sabena.

You are right: Out of the turbulence, a lot of cut-rate airlines emerged. But a lot of airlines that may still exist had a difficult time. Air Lingus, for example, trying to find its place in the Ryan Air world. Ditto for British Airways and Scandinavian.
Let's also not forget a victim of German reunification: Interflug. Like Aeroflot, the East German flag carrier had an extensive route network.

The first time I flew over to ZA it was on Virgin Atlantic. Great airline except you have to wait for 11 hours in terminal 3 at Heathrow for the connecting flight to J'Burg.
I flew Klm/Northwest a few times for convience. I found the U.S.-Amsterdam leg O.K. what you would expect from a U.S. airline(Crappy service etc..) This peticular KLM Amsterdam-Cape Town run was the worst flight I have ever been on. Kids jumping everywhere, in-flight service was bad, upset and yelling flight crew. I have to say with Northwest's attitude and KLM's commitment not to care I said I would never fly KLM again.
I will however say that Klm's Cape Town-Amsterdam flight was probably the best flight I have had. I had a nearly empty 777 that I flew on. But that was once. Another reason I don't fly through amsterdam anymore is the harrasing security. I think they need to stop smoking dope before they come to work. They didn't seem to know what a bottle of brandy was and why it's was not boxed up from when I left ZA.(One bottle does not need a box!).
I have flown Lufthansa for the last few times now. Now while the planes are dated and often full, the service is great. And The security at Frankfurt while stern is professional and everyone get's it. I do fly into Boston 99% of the time. New york can be a zoo at 4 P.M. ya know.
As far a SAA is concerned, the no longer fly to Atlanta. Just to JFK and Dulles. I know Delta will be taking over the old ATL-DAK-JBG route. Since SAA is not in skyteam anymore they are in Star alliance. I know you wouldn't be able to coop me up in an airbus for 22 hours non-stop!!.

I can be wrong, but flying Interflug was hardly an option for Westerners, was it? East Germany if possible even more rigorous state than the Soviet Union, and all Stasi spies... Today all relics of former DDR are gone, so is Interflug.
Interestingly, Ryan Air is predicted to become largest carrier in Europe, but I doubt they will ever fly intercontinental routes. Compare to low-cost US counterpart, Soutwest Airlines or asian Air Asia .
Main difference between EU and US carriers is that the former fly more long distance routes, while US carriers rely to a higher degree on domestic routes.
Four largest US carriers (Us Airways, United, Delta and Northwest) have filed for bankruptcy protection last year. This is what I call crisis. British Airways and Scandinavian have not even been close such dramatic circumstances.
Personal preferences? Lufthansa or KLM (lowest fares to RSA). Still like British Airways, but latest events on transatlantic routes made me feel like sitting duck when flying BA.

Interflug was definitely a niche player. Two reasons: (1) It undercut everyone's prices, if you paid in dollars or other hard currency. I remember seeing $100 round-trip tickets advertized in West Berlin crica 1987. (2) Interflug had an extensive route network, even though it might only have one flight a week -- or even a month! -- to some destination. It was a favored airline of lots of Third World people. I remember having a good time with a Thai ***** in West Berlin who told me she had flown over on Interflug. I can't remember the details but the East Germans also had a streamlined shuttle service from West Berlin to the airport in East Berlin that avoided all bureaucratic nonsense.
I only flew on Interglug once, from East Berlin to Moscow. As I recall, the service was marginally better than Aeroflot's. But, then, I was assigned to the Soviet Union so long that I thought that even Aeroflot was fine. It got me from point A to point B in a state that offered no alternatives.
Although uneven, Aeroflot could fairly sparkle on international routes. Cabin service was spartan but I remember how I got a hot meal once between Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Karachi, Pakistan, and another hot meal on the way to Moscow.One of them was good, the other got me sick, but, hey, shit happens.
I also flew the Ilyushin 86 jumbo jet from New Delhi to Moscow and liked it. Technologically the plane was a mixed bag: It was extremely fuel ineffecient but featured some revolutionary design solutions. Later versions tried to correct the initial problems.
IL 86 was also the perfect jumbo jet for Third World conditions because it did not require much ground infrastructure. Passengers entered the plane right into the belly, which in Western planes is totally dedicated to cargo. Right at the entrace were racks and racks of space for hand luggage. You then took steps up (the Soviets were not concerned about handicapped people) into this cavernous, almost sanctuary-like cabin. It had overhead bins that were larger than in other Aeroflot planes. I thought I had a superb fliight.
But back to Interflug. All of its planes were made in the Soviet Union. But, as I said, I didn't have any problem with that.
Which brings me to one of the most interesting news items I saw during my years in the Soviet Union. To test new instrument landing gear in real-life conditons, the pilots of one Aeroflot flight pasted newspapers over their cockpit windows.
All on board perished.

Leeuwen -- Come to think about it there was an Interflug bucket shop right at the East Berlim end of S-Bahn, the Berlin light-rail system. Of course, to reach it, you needed a visa (strictly, maybe not because that was before passport contro), but I never tested that) which may or may not have been easy to arrange. When I got to West Berlin the first time, no one at one ofr the city's top hotels could tell me how to get to East Berlin! (Just to familiarize myself, which turned out to be unneeded, I took a commercial tourist tour of East Berlin.
When I finally reached East Berlin, an acquaintance said he knew more about Mars than about West Berlin!
It turned out that I had been issued a Dienst Visum, meaning it was roughly comparable to a diplomatic status This enabled me to spend the dayi in East Berlin and then go and see the greener pastures of West Berlin at night.
I did my share of hunting (in non-predatory sense, because of security concerns) in East Berlin as well. The carnal pleasures, however, again because of security concerns, I left for West Berlin.
In one Scandinavian book I had read a description of the two Berlins in the late 1950s. One chapter said that there was a big dance hall on Friedrichstrasse. the llocation of Hitler's foreign ministgry that was at the east-west divide. On the basis of that book, I started walking away from the U.S. Checkpoint Charlie. The streets became more and mor ill-lit. Fkinally I got to my destination: Ballhaus Berlin.
It was jampacked and I was told no more tickets were avaialbe. On the strength of some official correspondence I had with me, I was finally admitted.
The scene was straight out of "Cabaret." Each table had a numbered globe. So if a guy at one table thougjt that a blonde at table No. 27 held any promise, he would use a telephone at his table to telephone her. Some of those calls may have produce eternal bliss, most assuredly did not.

In response yo your question: U.S. customs does not stamp a U.S. passport upon leaving the U.S. They also do not Stamp U.S. passports upon arrival. They basically use any stamps or stickers you may have gotten on your trip to verify where you have been(To see if your story checks out!).
Not true. For about 3 years I never got stamped by the US coming in, but this year, I've gotten two stamps. It's hit and miss, of course.

How is it not true?? I use my U.S. passport to enter the U.S. They do not stamp citizens passports. If they did that we would need new passports every year. I don't know where there're stamping your passport and for what reasons if you have a U.S. passport they shoudn't stamp anything. They only stamp your U.S. customs landing card and they take that from you in the second line. That's it. They do scan your passport though. Now if you don't have a U.S. passport they will stamp an entry stamp in your passport and stamp the visa.
They do however stamp and do the eye thing to NON-U.S. CITIZENS traveling on a NON U.S. Passport.
This is not hard to understand people. I use My U.S. passport to leave and re-enter the U.S. and I only use My South African Passport to Enter South Africa that's it. Not that hard to understand.

They may not regularly stamp passports, but I can assure you that sometimes do. I renewed my passport in October, and I have US entry stamps in it already. Perhaps this is a newer thing, as previous to last year, I don't think I had gotten stamped at all for 3 or 4 years.

Where are you enytering the U.S. and why are they stamping your passport?? Are you getting yanked when you enter the Baggage claim area/Sterile area?? This may be why you are getting some sort of stamp in your passport.
United States citizens passports do not get stamped upon arrivan in the United States. If you are getting yanked for whatever reason you may be getting some sort of U.S. customs stamp that may be alerting customs that you have been selected or searched before. With all this terrorist crap that's going on I wouldn't doubt if that had happened to you.
Describe this stamp they are putting in your passport?? You are A U.S. Citizen Carrying a U.S. passport correct?? If you are using a permanant Citizen/Resident Alien card then you would have to go through the line with other Non-U.S. citizens and show your passport from your country.
Also for my knowlege where are they stamping your passport?? I have flown into JFK 5 times this year, Boston ten times this year, LAX and SFO 3 times each, and Miami twelve times. I have never gotten a stamp and yes I was searched at San Francisco while returning from BKK(Looking for kiddie porn or something seems to be standard on flights from Thauland as ten other laptops were getting checked!).
I can tell you that U.S. customs does search quite alot of South American arrivals and sometimes the arrivals from Nassau into MIA/FLL.

Going from the date on the stamp, it was in Newark (EWR) in June. I know I had one more, but I guess it was in my old passport. I travel 150-180k miles per year, so a bit more than the average traveller. I've only gone to secondary one time in the last 5 years that I can recall, and that's when I was bringing a lot of purchases back from Thailand.
It's a standard Homeland Security stamp, says "Admitted: New". I don't think it's usual in any way to get stamped, but to keep in mind that you might get an overzealous agent who stamps everything in site. Trust me, I fill up passports so quick, that even a 48 page one doesn't last me as long as I'd like.
I usually fly through LAX and IAH as my main entries into the US.

I have had my US passport stamped a few times on entering the United States. They don't do it all the time, which is lucky with the amount of traveling I do, but they do it about once every 10 times on mine. It could be related to where I have gone but I don't know that for sure, I never cared enough to try to figure it out. As long as they keep letting me back in I am happy.

I have always use Sextrader and never had any problems. Normally gone through and picked lik;ey subjects then phoned them before going to get cost arrangements etc. Most will travel to the airport. Overnight can be anything from 1500 to 3000 depending on quality.

for those of you heading to durban, i stayed at the parade hotel on the beachfront. below the hotel is a bar: londoner - formerly known as magoos. now, if massage parlours and escort agencies are not your scene, just take your ass down to this little bar at about 9:00pm, sit down and have a quiet drink. discreetly you will be oggled and then approached if you nod so. i should imagine this would be the cheaper option in any case, i do not know what the going rates are.

I am looking for a place with low std rate and cheap service providers, I am willing to branch to other cities or countries from the destinations mentioned above so I am looking for a place which can be interested in a traveler as well. Well, my theory about the ‘burbs of Cape Town needs to be relooked at, judging from my recent experiences.
I had figured that if you keep to the suburbs you are going to find better, younger women at reasonable prices. In the past, it has worked. But recently checked out 4 places and found nothing to get excited about.
Southern suburbs (Landsdowne or close to it): 1. House with about half a dozen women. If you like your hookers to look like hookers, this is the place. A mix of white, coloured and black. Asked about R250 to R300 for an hour for a full house.
2. House with 2 women. One pretty. Asking R250 to R300 an hour.
Rugby (Near Milnerton) Apartment with about 3 women. Very average looking.
There is a definite increase in Chinese hookers operating from houses. Can’t speak a word of English, it seems, but manage to give you directions to get there! Place I visited charged R300 an hour. 3 average looking women.
Also noticed an increase in black hookers, often operating from apartments. House in Tamboerskloof asking R500 to R600 an hour for what could be nice looking black women. Haven’t checked it out yet.
I wish I had some good recommendations ‘cos then I would have had a good time… Anyone else got any recommendations?

On the plus side, people are mostly friendly and willing to help.
Crime? Plenty. I think some of thew cities you have on your list are also a bit rough.
Cheap? Yes it is still cheap for foreign visitors.
Interesting country to vist? Definitely.
Been a while since i been mongering in my home city and i found a fair amount has changed.
I only got going at 4am in the morning which meant that just about every club was closed already (yes they close a lot earlier in cape town then they do in johannesburg).
I was really not up for a long hunt so i thought i'd just see what streetwalkers were around greenpoint - well, there are none anymore.
The police has given them a lot of trouble so that that scene has virtually died out now. I'm going to try and find out where they moved to for you guys though
However a fair amount of them have changed over to advertising via classifieds and sites like sextrader.co.za (alrdy discussed in great detail in other posts).
Since I hadn't managed to get ahold of a girl via sextrader contacts at that time in the morning i took my last shot and headed for the body heat club in sea point.
Even at 4:30 in the morning this place was still going strong, according to the owners it only closes when the last customer leaves which is usually about 6:00am.
When I arrived I found approximately 10+ girls present. The nice thing was that there was a good mixture, there were about 2 ukranian girls present, 2 or 3 russian girls, a bunch of colored and black south african girls, 3 thai girls, and i think one white south african girl. Overall the number of East European working girls in Cape Town seems to have increased quite a lot in the last year which is good news for those who are not attracted to the often not exceptionally pretty local girls. Out of the 10 girls i saw there i saw 3 which i would rate a 9, one a 10, and to be honest the others i wouldve done without a second thought as well. Most of the girls from overseas had only been at the club for about a month or two. Entrance fee to get into the place is R50 by the way and of course they overcharge you heavily for any drinks you have inside.
In the bar area i found all girls to be very polite, all introducing themselves but not forcing themselves onto you either.Once you have picked a girl you pay the owner directly (the rate is R700-R800 per hour) and you then have your choice if you want to spend this hour upstairs in their rooms (which is where most of the girls live as well) or whether you want to take your pick(s) back to where your staying. There is no extra charge for taking a girl to your place allthough you will have to organize and if needed pay for the transport to your place and hers back. Discounts only apply after bookings exceeding 8hrs, since i didn' want to spend that much cash i didn't ask about exactly how much of a discount was offered in such a case.
I first opted for a stunning russian girl who however unfortunately was snapped up by another guy 5min before me so that i then decided for a lovely small thai girl.
I took her back to my place and spent a nice hour with her, covered bj, kissing, 69, etc, etc, good gf experience like most of you will know thai girls to be.
Out of the 10 girls in the club that night only 2 offered anal, neither of which were amongst my first pick - but at least there is a chance of getting this service.
For a local i find the R700/R800 per hour rate relatively pricey - freelancers are generally a bit cheaper (of course a great percentage of the fee at body heat goes to the owners - most of the girls live there as well so it covers their accommodation costs and other costs) but on the other hand you get to take your time as well to pick the perfect girl which is something you dont get with the freelancers (unless youve had a previous experience). Also the girls are of higher quality and a lot better groomed than in some of the clubs in the CBD.
Anyways, R700/R800 isnt that much if you have international currency and if you want a good chance at a good night i would definetly recommend body heat.
Now I thought that since I'm getting back into the game I could offer those of you coming to cape town some guidance to make things easier.
Since cape town still has a relatively high crimerate and not all the local establishments are in the best areas I can offer you some advice on how to get around safely.
If you like I can (if I am free) join you when you set out to find your fun for the night and show you the hotspots.
Furthermore I can give you connections for getting around cheaply via taxi. Generally taxi's are way overpriced by our local standards - i do however have contacts to one or two drivers who only charge about half of what regular taxi companies do. These guys work a lot with the girls in cape town as well (driving them to appointments, etc.) and are very discreet.
A lot of the clubs that you might have read about in previous posts no longer exist. I am going to begin making a list of which ones are still around and post it soon.

It's a pity that South Africa as one of the world's significant mongering destinations attracts so little interest from hobbyists.

I think the reason could be that there's not a lot new going on here. Despite the old saying "ex Africa aliquod novat" not a lot's new in South Africa. The scene in South Africa in general, and Johannesburg in particular where I live, is not really any different than it was three or four years ago. Good, but not different. The girls come and go but the venues remain the same. If you read the reports over the last two to three years, they're as valid today as they were when they were written.
Much of the action takes place in private houses in the suburbs. Once you've been directed to the classified ads in the Jo'burg Star newspaper and the Sextrader / Escort South Africa web sites, you're as well prepared arriving today as you were two years ago. Sure the individual addresses change but a quick phone call to the current numbers soon gives you the up to date info. Jo'burg is woefully short of pick up bars. The few that there are have all been descibed before. Did I hear someone ask about the Summit Club? Sure, it's still there, but has been relatively quiet / subdued on my last few visits. German Club? Yep, still going but varies between dead and hopping depending on the night you choose.
Having said that, it would be nice to see some up to date rerports from the guys passing through. The scene here's not as cheap as Asia (Thailand and Philippines in particular) but it's still excellent value compared with the UK, Europe and the States!

In Cape Town for a few days with 2 buddies.
Fisrt stop was "The Castle" on Castle Street towards the Bo Kaap end. Ground floor. You can't miss the huge Congolese bouncer sitting on a bar stool outside. i feel i must correct the erroneous impression you might leave with first time travellers to johannesburg. there's lots of pussy available in this town, but only if you know where to go look for it. for a visitor with a strictly limited time available, he's most unlikely to find some ready and willing pussy by just walking into a bar.
around the airport there's no bars you can find by just walking /driving around where pussy is there for the weary traveler's upliftment (pun intended).
the available places around the airport are all in private houses where you need your own car or a very knowledgeable taxi driver to get to them. they may be close (10 to 15 km) from the airport but the chances of a tourist stumbling on them are about a fraction of your chance of finding a needle in a haystack. if you have a limited time layover at the airport, you need to do your homework before you get here, get addresses and detailed directions. sextrader is an excellent source of reference but, if you leave it till you get here and then try to find some pussy in a few hour or less stop over, you're going to be very frustrated and disappointed.

Look for ads that specifically say "airport". Kempton Park and Edenvale are also close. When the ad says "airport" its usually in Kempton Park anyway. Many areas are only 20 to 30 minutes from the airport and the girls are willing to travel to you if you've got a hotel room available. Costs are much higher if the girl comes to you.

Blastoff, before you travel to Jo'burg, do your ground work and then travel, that way its quite easy. I found the girl (in the pic in my previous post) Zinzi/Shandra through one of the websites.
In Joburg, you dont need to spend ZAR 3500 per night, all you need is some time to do your ground work before you travel. Browse through some of the websites like www.adultinc.co.za, www.sextrader.co.za, www.glamourgirls.co.za, www.pymt.info, www.themenu.co.za, www.***********, www.hookerssa.com (my favourites are pymt.info and ***********).
If possible try n call them before you land, else call them once you land in SA. The cost will be obviously high if you take them to your hotel. Many of the girls have a decent apartment, but if you have any apprehensions regarding going to a girl's apartment, there are lots of wonderful "venues" in Jo'burg.

If you phone around, you can usually get some more reasonable deals but I don't think you'll get a girl off the internet for all night for less than R1000 to R1500. You can try replying to the girls who advertise in the Star classifieds. Some of them advertise all night and many say they're available 24/7. Depending on how much they need the cash, they will often go for less than R1000.
My favorite way is to go to one of the pick up bars in Hillbrow or Berea. The girls there will generally be happy to accept R600. I never discuss price first. Places to try are the Royal Park Hotel in Joubert Park (entrance R25) or the Summit Club in Hillbrow (entrance R70). The German Club in Joel Street, Berea often has some good bargains. It doesn't have a sign outside. Just look for the place with a row of flags along the top of the wall. Another similar place is Club 109, which is at no 109 Lily Avenue, Berea.
Remember, none of these areas is particularly safe so NEVER go there on foot. Always drive yourself in a hire car or take a taxi. Only go in if you can get parking on site or right outside. Even a couple of blocks at night is not safe.
I'd like to add a word of caution about Hillbrow / Berea areas. For the first time traveller, its better to be safe than sorry. Even during the day, its not safe to roam around all alone in that area, leave alone at night. Though you'll find lots of cheap all nighters in these areas, I would still suggest the safe and secure venues of Sandton (even if the price is a bit high) rather than the clubs of Hillbrow.

Many thanks for your info it is very helpful. I was in Joburg last August and I did research sex trader and the local paper and found the asking prices for a girl to come to my hotel were high. Black girls were the least expensive but still expensive, colored were second and white were the most expensive of all. I called about 20 girls before I arrived and did find one black girl who was willing to have me stay at her apartment and all night sex for 1,500 RAND but I still found this prices offensive based on the average wage in South Africa and the high unemployment as well as the P 4 P prices available in most other African countries being around only 10% of that for all night. There MUST be a very high demand proportionate to the number of girls in the game in SA for them to be asking so much all the time. That's all I can put it down to.
Can you please quote some prices you achieved in order to give us some perspective?

Just to put these rates into perspective, 1,000 RAND (Around USD$ 135.00) is about what a beautiful white blue eyed blond Russian girl will charge you at a Tochca in Moscow (the most expensive city to live in in the world as of last year) for all night at your hotel. In Kenya, Mozambique, Ghana, Sierra Leon and many other African countries you can get a girl any time out of a bar or club for less than USD$20. This is a big difference and based on the economics and limited opportunity for girls to make money in SA, the prices are crazy in my opinion but none the less as they say, "when in Rome do as the Romans do." I will grit my teeth and enjoy the sex and not look so much at the prices as long as they are not over the top.

I have posted on this particular topic before. My method of operation when in SA is to go the local bars and clubs. It is guaranteed to bring you a result. OK, you may have a lack of choice, but this method of hunting will save you hundreds if not several thousands of rands a trip.
The rand is pretty week but this is no excuse for the ridiculous asking prices in SA, this being driven by foreigners who know no better and settle for paying these rates. Getting chicks from pubs and clubs will perhaps set you back R300 - R500 depending on your negotiating skills, but even i will not go anywhere near R500, this is crazy. When in SA last time the most i paid was R350 although this was in Durban on the coast. I believe my operative method would remain the same in Joburg
i agree with all the comments here that the price for “all night” in jo’burg is not cheap compared with the world’s finest mongering destinations. outrageous? not really. for example, in europe the price for an hour of a lady’s time is my idea of outrageous. last time i was in london there was nothing available for less than £50 (r700) to £60 (r840) for half an hour (if you ignore the 15 minute walk ups in soho for about £30). however, jo’burg is not cheap compared with, say, pattaya in thailand where a beautiful young thing will spend the night with you for about 1000 baht (r200) to 1500 baht.
for some reason the girls here in johannesburg charge relatively much more for “all night” than they would be allowed to get away with anywhere else. in most places other than south africa i use a rule of thumb that “all night” should cost about twice as much as “short time”. this generally works well. however, in jo’burg most girls seem to charge about five times their “short time” rate to agree to spend the night. since most of this time is spent sleeping i think it’s one of the worst deals anywhere which is why i seldom take a girl for the whole night.
“short time” is the way to go in johannesburg for the best value for money. if you don’t want to brave the bars (and doc drake’s comments should be taken seriously) the next cheapest option is the classified ads in the star or the citizen newspaper. the best value for money are definitely the chinese girls who generally charge between r200 and r300 for “one hour” (ie one pop, even if this is only 20 minutes). however, if you are lucky, the chinese girls will give you a most enjoyable massage before geting down to brass tacks. thai girls, if you can find them, are sometimes in this bracket although the better looking ones have upped their prices way beyond what they would be allowed to get away with in thailand! next in line are the black girls who charge between r250 and r450 for “one hour”. this is usually also very good value because, generally, black girls love sex and will often allow you (or request you!) to stay a full hour and come more than once. white girls are the worst value, charging between r500 and r800 for “one hour” which they generally try to finish as soon as possible. in my experience white girls charge way over the top in johannesburg and also the service is not as good / enthusiastic as their black counterparts give. some people must be willing to pay their prices otherwise they wouldn’t be able to get away with it but it’s not for me.
the “going rate” in the bars i mentioned in my last post is r150 (for cheap charlies) to r200 for “short time”. whether these girls will go with you “long time” for r300, as speed 13 suggests, is debatable. however, r500 to r600 will usually secure their company for the whole night. they will often complain in the morning that it’s not enough but, if you are firm with them and have not agreed a higher price up front, they will generally accept it quite quickly after their first protest is over-ruled.
however, for a fun evening, the bars can be much more rewarding than going to a house or flat in the suburbs for an hour. tonight i went to the royal park hotel in leyds street (joubert park) and spent a pleasant time with two delightful zambian girls (both 8’s which is unusual for the royal park). i gave them each r250, more than they were expecting but the service was very good, and they were very happy.
so, you pays your money and you take your choice.

I totally agree with Iron Duke's assessment of the South Africa scenario. Jo'burg is definitely not as cheap as elsewhere in the world. As for the services offered in the context of "South Africa", the following is my perception of the market;
(1) Chinese: They are the cheapest. They offer a decent massage. Their knowledge of English is quite bad or non-existent. They usually operate under the "mamasan" kind of working. Best value for money for short period. Not worth it for all-night (though it depends on an individual's likings). They are not that clean (my general perception is that they dont smell so good and for some people its a big put-off!!) The rates that i've seen for a short period is approx R200 - R300 for an in-call or if you pick them up from a bar. The price may increase to R350 - R400 for an out call.
(2) Thai: They come next to the Chinese. Most of them offer a good massage. The average looking Thai will cost you the same as a Chinese. But the better looking ones will come around R300 - R500 for in-call depending on the age and looks. They maintain themselves much better than the Chinese and their English is lots better. They also mostly work under a "mamasan" and very few are independent.
(3) Black (Non - South Africans): The girls from Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Lesotho, Swaziland come next in the price category. They charge anything around R400 for a short time. They are not that great in massage but they definitely enjoy sex. The best place for hunting a "cheap charlie" is to find them in bars. they are a few independent operators too. Safety should be the main motto with them. There is no much difference between their in-call and out-call rates.
(4) Black (South Africans): They are little more pricier than their non - South African counterparts. Their charges will be around R450 - R500 for a short time. They usually operate independently or work for a "venue" They are not so great in massage but sex will be wonderful.
(5) Colored (Indians)/Eastern Europeans (Russians, etc)/South Americans: The second costliest in South Africa. Most of them will have an excellent physique, nicely toned bosy, great BJs, and good knowledge of english. They will have a good attitude, though some of them are a wee bit hot headed. Price for a short visit will be around R500 - R600. Not so great in massage, but good in sex.
(6) Whites: The most outrageously priced in SA. Many of thenm that I see around are in their late 20s or early 30s. Short time price is around R600 - R800.
The duration of "Short time" depends on the girl and the way you have approached her. It could be anything from 20 minutes to 2/3 hours.
The main factor is the individual's taste and perception. One thing for sure is the choice available in SA.

i have posted on this particular topic before. my method of operation when in sa is to go the local bars and clubs. it is guaranteed to bring you a result. ok, you may have a lack of choice, but this method of hunting will save you hundreds if not several thousands of rands a trip.
the rand is pretty week but this is no excuse for the ridiculous asking prices in sa, this being driven by foreigners who know no better and settle for paying these rates. getting chicks from pubs and clubs will perhaps set you back r300 - r500 depending on your negotiating skills, but even i will not go anywhere near r500, this is crazy. when in sa last time the most i paid was r350 although this was in durban on the coast. i believe my operative method would remain the same in joburg

This is the next in my series on Jo'burg action.
This time I wanted to go to an all black venue and finally I narrowed down to a venue in Sandton named "EMMANUELLE'S". One of the safe and secure venues of Jo'burg. Its an all black upmarket venue (a wee bit expensive).

I just came back from a 8 week trip, starting in Cape Town, all the way up the cost via Port Elisabeth, Durban, St. Lucia Wetland Park and Swasiland and then up to Jo burg and Pretoria (Tswane).
For today just a little info on some prices for girls I was asked for, later some detailled reports and fotos.
I think, that even if you pay a little bit more, it will be an advantage as being white, when you explain, that you are NOT from SA, as especially BLACK Girls don´t like white SA so much, because of the past. Therefore up to Port Elisabeth, it was not easy, just to talk up a non-pro-girl from the car... they where sometimes not interested even to talk, because they thought: what does this white SA want... and they are very proud of their improving situation.
(As I was not allone, there was only sometimes enough time to play around).
1. No contacts in Cape Town and Stellenbosch this time, but streetwalkers can be found in Seapoint for as little as 50 Rand for a BJ and 100 Rd for FS (9,5 R = 1 €), but be careful, HIV is as high as 45% and prostitutes there which are on drugs might be even worse.
2. Port Elisabeth: I heard that there is a lot of action on the University Campus. A 23y-working girl approached me in a Pub/Disco Place on Brooks Hill. she asked for 150 Rd. for 1,5 hours, but I did not follow her, because I did not like her behaviour

I told her, I would call here at around 2pm, but as my meeting lasted till 3:30, i phoned her later and than she was already on her way home and had no time. So nothing happened. I have no photo, but she is average to nice, with a slim figure with good 1 handbreasts and a nice face. Her name is Patience and I have her cellphone number. She called me the next day, but unfortunately I was on my way to the airport and not alone and short of airtime, so I could not answer.
At the end some tips:
If you are longer there, just get a prepaid mobile number for as little as 20 Rand and than add on airtime as you need. Inside SA this is much better, than use your homecellphone number. But your mobile phone must be free for this card. So make Sure, that there is no simlok on it or take an old one with you.
If you want to call home, dont use the mobile!!!! Just ask for Worldcall Card. This is available in nearly every SPAR Supermarket for R 50. With this, you can talk for between 30 and 60 minutes to Europe or USA.

I got the idea, that SA is very very cheap for sex, as nothing works on Tourist prices, because there are still not so many around, and even less that ask for sex. So the prices are related to the normal wages:
That is: a waitress in a restaurant or a roommade earns between 7 and 12 Rand per hour, depending on in which region she works, Jo´burg and Pretoria and Cape Town beeing most expensive. That is as little as 70 €cents to € 1,20 per hour. that means, that 200 Rand for an allnighter is worth approx. 3 days of work... that´s why it is so cheap. And in a lot of other countries a white man is definetely a foreigner.. in SA not!!! So they dont ask for redicoulus prices, as they dont know, that you have no idea about the price.

The price gets you between 1 and 2 hours (depends on your negotiating skills), with the girl of your choice full service, room included. There is a cover charge after 7pm I think of about USD$20. Drinks are at a reasonable rate, not to high.
The way the owners get around the anti prostitution laws in SA is that ALL the girls are technically free lancers and do not officially work there and what the owners are doing is renting you the room. Then what goes on behind closed doors is nobodies business.
I am sure if you send them an email, they will fill you in on the latest prices and future parties etc. I found it up market and not for the cheap Charlies but not overly expensive for the quality.
When I was there, it was in the mid afternoon on a weekday and things were quite but the girls were available from 1pm and they will all come to be introduced to you if you wearing little cloths if you ask the management.
When I was there I saw around 20 girls in total available for services and most were from a 7 up in looks. No dogs here on the day I was there and not one black girl in sight either haha. Could of thought for a moment that I was back in a bar in Thailand ;).

BarekThere are also a few bars / night clubs in Sea Point. These generally don't charge an entrance fee and have rooms on the premises where you can go with your newly acquired companion. Most are quite expensive compared with the MP option but, since it doesn't cost anything to go in, it doesn't hurt to see if there's any nice looking ladies inside. I was in Cape Town last month and went to one such place called Cupid on the main road through Sea Point. There were a few do-able girls available and the half hour option was only R350. Hi and welcome. Most of your questions are already answered in this forum if you read back. Joburg is a big, modern, cosmopolitan city and similar rules of thumb apply to all big cities.
All clubs, strip clubs etc are advertised in the Yellow pages phone book, the newspapers, many of the guidebooks, in the memory of the GPS you rent from the airport and magazines and word of mouth just by asking around. There is no shortage of fun activities in this city that's for sure.
I suggest you hire a car and a GPS from the airport and away you go.

Ahhh I see, you are looking for some R & B clubs. All R & B Clubs dance that way. The Summit Strip Club in Hillbrow (my favourite) is a club where they do have some dancing at night. You cannot only dance doggy style there if you want but you can have sex right there on the floor or up stairs! I love it.
I personally went to the club in the Emperor’s Palace Casino last year. I found a very young crowd, not blacks only white Africanas but they got a bit rowdy after mid night and danced crazy. It was fun.

Durban:

I am planning a trip to Johannesburg in August. My previous trip was over two years ago so I will appreaciate some news about recent developments. I know about newspaper ads and the escort sites but would like to try some other options this time.

An excellent question! Of course, the answer is not straightforward. It is also different for black girls and white girls. They are like girls from a different country.
WHITE GIRLS. White girls will generally never approach you first. “Nice” girls don’t go to bars. Certainly not to bars where they expect to get picked up. The only places where you might be lucky is in the discos. “Nice” girls (ie non pros) will generally not sleep with you on the first few dates. So, to get to know a “nice” girl is a lot of PT. Also, if you’re here on business or on a holiday you’re unlikely to score. First of all you won’t have time to develop the relationship to the point she will sleep with you and secondly, if she knows you’re only after one thing on holiday, she won’t be interested.
Age is another very important factor for white girls. Most white girls are only interested in guys of the same age bracket. Teens will only go out with teens. Most girls in their 20’s and 30’s won’t go out with a guy more than 5 years older than her. I’m in my fifties and, generally, don’t find women over mid 30’s attractive so I seldom score with white women. I think it’s easy to pick up women in their 40’s and 50’s but they don’t appeal to me. So, if you’re here as a visitor and want a white girl, you’re unlikely to find anyone outside of an escort agency or in the adult adverts section of the newspapers.
BLACK GIRLS. As a general rule, black girls love sex. Many are constantly on the lookout for their next shag. Some black girls will only go out with black guys. If you walk around the shopping malls or go to a restaurant where black girls congregate on their own or with their girl friends, especially at night, it’s very easy to pick one (or more than one!) up. Just make eye contact, smile and start a conversation about anything. She’ll soon let you know if she’s available. Generally speaking, a black girl will be willing to have sex with you on your first date or, if she wants to make you think she’s not an easy woman, she might make you wait until the second date. But, remember she’s probably as horny as you are and she won’t want to wait too long.

I will owe you if you deliver the right goods.Having returned from my recent trip to South Africa after a two year gap, I wanted to post a short report that might benefit others contemplating a visit there. The bottom line is that Jo’burg prices have gone up and the whole scene has become highly commercialized but for those venturing outside the ‘traditional’ route there are lots of fantastic opportunities. In fact, I was having such a good time in SA I even cancelled a side trip I had planned to Kenya!
ESSENTIALS: Make sure you take your own condoms – there was a recent scare in SA where some 6 million condoms that did not pass the quality test were still allowed to be sold in the market! Authorities not only couldn’t say which parts of the country were affected, they didn’t even attempt a recall. Avoid similar worries and come prepared. Similarly, water based lubricant is a must – although you can get them here, I found it difficult to readily locate them in pharmacy shelves. Local sim card is easy to get at any super market and well worth the investment as it will let you make and receive calls without any hassles. For some reason, when paying for calls I found the supermarkets cheaper than using the vending machines.
HOTELS: One of the things I learnt on this recent trip is that, if approached the right way, almost all hotels are ‘girl friendly’. But if you prefer to be very discreet, two hotels worthy of mention, at least at Sandton, are Courtyard and City Lodge, Katherine street. Courtyard is a townhouse style hotel and its studio suites are good value. You can drive in or take the taxi in and be dropped off inside (the gate security is no problem) and you can walk up to your unit without having to go past reception. City Lodge at Katherine Street is cheaper but provides all of the basic amenities and is clean and tidy. It is one of the most girl friendly hotels you could come across. Even though you have to walk past the reception to get to your room, this poses no problems with staff even if you are being followed by two girls one with her tits hanging out and another wearing the tiniest skirt barely covering her ample ass! The hotels I used most on this trip were Michelangelo, Hilton and Palazzo Montecasino. Of these Michelangelo has the reputation to be very unfriendly towards girls. But I didn’t have any problems; sure, all girls will have their id checked but this protects the guests more than anything. I was told that they also stop some girls from entering but this never happened to any of the girls I had over.
FAVOURITE HOTEL: But my favorite was the Hilton. It provided the best service and the security was totally focused on the needs of the guests. For instance, if I wanted the girl(s) to come straight to my room, all I had to do was give detailed directions – she (or they) then simply walk up and knock on the door. If I wanted them checked over first, I ask them to report to reception where they check her id, according to my instructions, and then escort her to my room. Once I had three girls with me and as I got off the taxi saw a group of bejeweled American tourists loudly hogging the foyer. On this trip, I learnt that as mongers we short change ourselves if we concentrate our activities within the main cities. Thank you for those senior members who have written in with kind words about my earlier reports and I will reply to you guys individually as time permits very shortly. Some of my friends have also asked me about the price paid for the session described in my previous report at Polokwane. It was – total for all three girls – a grand sum of ZAR 250! And what’s more they were happy as pigs in mud! In fact, neither of the Ass sisters (and certainly the dainty crèche teacher) was not in any hurry to leave until I bundled them out of my suite at around 2 AM! It goes to show two things: one, as my report set out to demonstrate, rich pickings are to be had outside the main cities and two, the bizarre logic of pricing in SA. In fact, my ‘research’ during this trip on the economics of pricing gave rise to some counterintuitive mongering strategies which worked very well for me and which I would like to pass on to others in the hope they might help them as well!
When asked for prices in SA girls usually would give you a price for – as they call it – short time. But short time in SA does not mean what it might mean in say Europe where, along with barristers, it is measured in 6 minute increments! (Only joking!) ST in SA seems to mean until the monger gets tired and chases the girl out of the room. When paying for it in SA, I always asked for ST and not once did the girl make the first move to end the session. Even on the one occasion when I had come three times! But whatever the price given for ST, when asked for the all night price you would be quoted at least 4 to 9 times the ST price. Now, even if you are Casanova himself and can go all night for 9 or 10 rounds, this clearly does not make sense! I don’t personally like all niters anyway – other than on very special occasions - because I like the girl out of my hair once I am finished with her. But – at prices quoted in SA – it certainly does not make any sense even if you like all niters.
It seems a girl asks for all night prices based on what she thinks/hopes she can make in a night – so this is an ‘opportunity cost’ price for her. On this basis, it does make some sense from her point of view but often her hope of what she might make is based on pure wishful thinking. For instance, when questioned, some of the girls admitted to never having made that much money in one night from ST (but hoped to one of these nights!) Other girls said they ‘once before’ had made this but often with a dumb group tourists who even they admitted didn’t know any better. Sometimes what they asked for depended on the amount of money they needed in a hurry that very minute to pay for rent/excursion for kids etc. So, in a sense, you can’t blame them for asking the ridiculous prices but the only sensible response by any seasoned monger has to be a good belly laugh.
If you laugh at their ridiculous prices they would immediately express their willingness to negotiate. So, even though, I had no need for an ‘all niter’ I always asked for this to establish two things: 1. what the girl would love to earn that night 2. Her admission that she is ready to bargain. It is useful to establish this for the negotiation to follow about the ‘services’ to be provided.
Now the usual mongering logic is to clearly establish at the outset about the services to be provided and what it would cost. About what would be included and what not. This makes sense, particularly if you are on a budget and want to get exactly what you are paying for. In first world countries and in most Asian mongering destinations, you pay for services in advance. Not so, in Africa. You pay after services have been rendered and more importantly, African girls enjoy sex. So, the counterintuitive strategy that worked for me was to not specify services to be included or even agree on price. I can vouch for this strategy in SA – not once did a WG ask for more money when I paid her – which could suggest that if anything I over paid her. But I don’t think so because of the things I usually indulged in with them. If I had asked for these services in advance over the ‘phone, the girls would have either refused or asked for more money from which it would have been difficult to negotiate them down.
Take for example, Greek services. In SA, if you ‘phone around you will invariably be offered ZAR 200 – 450 for ST, “full house” except Greek. This is pure BS. I had (protected) Greek with virtually every girl on this trip – every one of them was an enthusiastic participant and/or cooperated fully to make me happy. Not one charged extra for it. In fact, IMHO not to f*g an African girl in those delectable asses for which they renowned for is like going to Rome and not seeing the Sistine chapel! An other easy option is to get the local paper written in English called the "Star" I think and there are dozens of private girls advertising there. You should be able to score for between 200 to 500 rand short time and some have come to my hotel and drunk Alcohol and stayed with me all night at no extra charge if they like you and they don't get any other calls that night.

Sun City is something like an amusement park with Casino´s , waterworld and some entertainment.
There are several hotels inside a valey and all are run by one company. I am sure, that you can get normal massages inside the hotels, especially in the 5star Lost Tower, but I am also sure, that these places do not offer any sexual service. My first visit to Johannesburg was a quick one, spent just 2 nights.
Given I was short of time, I reverted to the local classified ads in the Star. On the first night, I picked out an ad for an Indian lady. She sounded great on the phone so I bargained; started at 650 and we agreed on 550.
I was staying at the Grace hotel in Rosebank. She rang from reception and came straight up - so no problems with the hotel.
She described herself an medium build on the phone, but the reality was that she was quite flabby. This put me off, so it was never going to be a good punt. She started off with a basic massage and quickly went onto the main event - to be honest, I didn't want her to hang around. Her attitude was good, quite friendly, but we just didn't connect.

Just a few lines and new pics from my recent trip to SA. I stayed in downtown Joburg at the Parktonian, which is very ‘girl-friendly’ – at least during the day. Got off work last Friday at say round 9 was busy with monthend.
Got to Newscafe to get some thing to eat and thier were to nice girls by the bar. Got a seat and a drink, half way in my drink the place was becoming full and one girl come to get her cocktail just next to my seat.
I asked her name and she asked to to join them if I wanted it.
At around 2 the place was closing down and she said she could not drive I asked her for a sleep over and the rest followed.
Friday I am there.
