I have been back to Johannesburg for a couple of days and before starting the chase, I checked the websites of

Just got back from Cape Town - here is how I found the scene.

World of advise: Stay away from the lower end of the market. SA is rampant with the AIDS epidemic. for the prices offered in that country, I just cannot see the justification to take that kind of risks. Just back from a short trip in and around DURBAN. The news is not discouraging.

As a resident of Johannesburg I can confirm that South Africa is a haven for any man seeking good cheap sex. Many girls operate either alone or with a friend or two from their own places.
In Johannesburg there are literally hundreds of places advertised in the daily newspapers. The best is the Johannesburg "Star" newspaper. Look in the Adult Only section of the Classified supplement under the "Entertainment " column. Most of the girls advertise here. The "Massage Services" column has very few adverts for girls. Most of the adverts under Massage are for guys but a few girls do advertise there as well. All the adverts in the current edition of the Star can also be viewed online at www.iol.co.ca. Go to the "Classifieds" link and then click on the "Social/Adult" link. Then choose the publication you want, eg The Star. When you click on "Search" it takes you to the pages where every advert for that day is reproduced. Each ad had an "add" box to put the add in the "trolley". This is a very useful feature because after searching through all the adds you can click on the "show trolley" box and have a nice summary of all the ads that appeal to you. Prices of girls who advertise on the Internet (see pages referred to above) generally charge more than the girls who advertise in the newspaper. In fact, the same girl may well have differential pricing depending on whether you say you are responding to her newspaper ad or saw her on the Internet. A girl who charges R450 to clients who contact her via the Internet will often only charge R350 if you phone on her newspaper ad. They often use different names in the two media so they can distinguish which ad you are responding to but you can generally see they are the same girl because they have the same phone number. So, a good tactic is to make a note of the phone numbers of the girls that appeal to you from their Internet details and then look for their phone numbers in the www.iol.co.za site. This is very easy because there is an excellent search facility on that site. Just returned from almost two month stay in Capetown, Pretoria, and travelling, etc. and thought I'd share some info. To those who have not visited SA before, it is "1st World" for the most part, which immediately sets it apart from Africa in general. Everything you can find here, you can find there. Renting a car is a must! Rentals are new cars and reasonable. You drive on the right which takes one hour to get used to and you're good to go. Make sure to arrange for "FREE" cell phone when you rent car as AVIS and others offer it. Best way to find ladies is buy the main newspaper in the city you are in and take out the classified insert. They are all listed under "massage." Rates vary from R100-R700 ($15-100). Some adds specifiy anal, or Greek but most girls have a problem with it. I recommend walking around the cities and not being a P#%$Y! Carry only R100-200. and leave wallet stashed. Use common sense and you'll have a fantastic time. I met school girls, office girls, girls on the beach, and working in the fields just by walking by and chatting them up. Papillon was good I would say, and the quality was on the good side. I'm comparing to other clubs in Europe. There were one or two slightly older ones whom I gave the heave-ho too, since they were not my type.
As I said, I got a taxi from the hotel to the club, and had the guy wait. Once inside, you need to pay for entry, and they stamp your hand. This entitles you to free drinks. There were a few black girls, and some very attractive blondes. It has been some time since I was in Joburg. I have stayed at the Intercontinental in Sandton and found an ocassional provider at the bar. Also across the street is a Disco which they also frequent.

I can recommend some hotels in Johannesburg and Cape Town for you. In Cape Town I usually stay at the Cullinan Hotel at the Waterfront. It is opposite the convention centre and their rates are about 500 Rand ($80). It's safe and convenient and the rooms have recently been refurbished. Another option is the Holiday Inn right next door where the rates are the same.
Their are many good hotels in Johannesburg. Most are situated in Sandton, which is where most of the action is. Their are about 4 Holiday Inns in Sandton which charge between 350 and 500 Rand. The most convenient one is known as Holiday Inn Garden Court - Sandton City, and is situated next to the Sandton City shopping mall. It is in close proximity to many restaurants and attractions and is safe. There is also an Intercontinental hotel nearby which charges about 1000 Rands per night.
Almost all hotels in SA are guest-friendly. I have never had any problem getting a girl up to my room at any time of the night.
To Bazooka, I can recommend a few places for you in Durban. The first being a house in Overport Drive which is about 5 mins from the city centre. The venue is clean and safe and the girls are not bad either. They charge about 250 rands per hour on their premises and they also travel.
Another place worth checking out is in Steel Road in an area called Stamford Hill. The venue is called Pretty Woman and the quality of girls here is good. Here is some of my recent exploits. I did not get up to much, since I was too busy. In Joburg I went back to Papillon, although the quality was not as good as I recalled. I met the same girl I had last time, and it was good fun. She is about to move out of the business altogether unfortunately.
There were a few girls in the hotel, mostly black. A few mingers, and some nice ones.
In Cape Town it was much worse. I went to Castle 101 in Castle street. As far as I know the Summit Club is still open --it was in October '03. They will not respond to your e-mail and I don't think they update their website more than 3 times a year. You should call to be sure.
As far as girls, check one of my previous posts. You should not pay more than R250 for an hour. Selection within the club is a crap-shoot--I've seen gorgeous Thai, Coloured, and Black girls--but then again I've also seen some real bow-wows. Best advice is avoid women in jeans as they tend to hide fat.
As far as I know, you cannot bring an outside escort back to their hotel. I believe the hotel is rented strictly to the bar girls, but you should check and let us know.
Although they are R100 - R200 more, I would still recommend at least one escort while you're there. Check out any of the South African escort sites (do a simple web search, there are about 4 or 5) and you'll see exactly what you're getting...and believe me, there are some real lookers.
Finally, if you haven't been to Hillbrow before (where the Summit Club is located), I would recommend taking a cab. This is one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in all of South Africa and car jackings are not uncommon. If you do drive, follow these three tips:
1) STUDY A MAP--There are a number of one-way streets in this area and lighting and street signs are poor, so plan your enter and exit strategy before you go.
2) PARK IN THE CLUB LOT--It's right across the street and an attendant will escort you across the street (keep R5 handy for him)
3) KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN--Don't pull too close to the car in front you at a robot (traffic light) and watch who's around you. If you have to make a quick getaway, it's much easier to explain to the police than to the guy(s) coming after you.

Another trip to Joburg recently, and again a bit of a let-down. The one evening I chose to go to Papillion, the place had a private funtion going on, so after a wasted journey in a taxi, we spent further time looking up and down William Nicole drive trying to find club 32 (i think), but couldn't find it. Here is some experience:
Papillon is a club not far from Monte Casino, very upmarket and safe location, large villa with a main area with 2 levels, bar, entrance fee is 250R (fee covers all drinks and a food menu) 1hrNN a with girl cost 650 Rand. went there at around 11pm (the place close at 1am) there 5-6 girls working with 6-7 guys waiting. Dear members,
Those of you who visit South Africa may want to take the car from Johannesburg Airport to Cape Town (with its fantastic wine routes and scenery). This is a safe route by car, not going through Johannesburg city. To get there you will take the "R24 Johannesburg" upon exit from the car rental area at the airport. You will bypass Kemton Park en route to Cape Town.
(note: There are a couple of stunning ladies in Kempton Park, where you may get a shower after the long flight. I am stilll negotiating to cover them in another WSG report.)
On the R24 you will take the "N12 Kimberley" highway and stay on the N12. This takes you through the city of Potchefstroom (do not try anything in Potchefstroom - extremely conservative on sexual matters! ) and then Klerksdorp. If you have not exhausted yourselves in Kempton Park on the ladies, you can stop in Klerksdorp for some fun!
When taking the turn to the left into Klerksdorp downtown area, you will find a street called Neser Street in the downtown area. After you have exhausted yourself, in Klerksdorp, take the N12 (Wolmamaransstad, Kimberley, Cape Town direction) and do some sightseeing in Kimberley. By the way, do you know that Kimberley was the first city in the world to get street lights? Even before New York! They shut their system down for a week and then New York came online. This is why New York claims to be th first! The boom came from the wealth of Kimberley diamonds of the 1870's, where Cecil John Rhodes got his riches. There you will find one of the largest manmade holes in the world (the "Kimberley Hole" for diamonds).
There are nice places in the Karoo to stay over, until you get to Cape Town. Be sure to get the Afrikaans and English newspapers for classified ads.
Good luck and always play safe. All the girls in Klerksdorp (except for one pro) play it safe. An unsafe pro is a real turnoff!

I got lucky with my camera. I was allowed to take photographs in the House of Dreams in Klerksdorp - see the previous report on the road from Johannesburg to Cape Town via Klerksdorp. 117 Stamford Hill is a go, but it's also a crap shoot. I've been there three times in the last two weeks, and everytime was a GFE. The problem is quality is inconsistant at best...at times it's downright awful.

Having been a client at the Summit Club for the last four years, and can vouch for it being very safety concious. Granted, the neighborhood is a little scarely, but inside it's like a fortress. Keep in mind that 95% of the clients at the Summit Club are white South Africans and foreigners (most black South Africans can not afford it), so any hint of violence at the club would mean the end of business.
Here is the procedure I always use.
1. I always take a taxi from my hotel to get there around 10:30 to 11 pm. I also usually make arrangements for the driver to pick me up about 3 hours later. The club does have a fleet of certified taxis at the door, but they tend to be really rundown Toyotas as opposed to the hotel Mercs. Also sometimes the downtown taxi drivers have no money for gas, so they ask you to pay part of the fare upfront so that they can fill the tank (I kid you not). Not to mention that the downtown drivers don't always speak English and don't always know their way to the upscale Sandton area. Still, I've taken the club taxis lots of times without incidents.
2. I walk straight into the club. Do not walk around the block!
3. Once inside, you'll get frisked professionally by the doorman before being allowed to walk up one flight of stairs to the club foyer. Keep in mind that there is a dress code so you can't walk in with sleaveless shirts, baseball caps or shorts.
3. In the foyer you pay the cover charge (under $10 USD last time I was there) and they give you a raffel ticket, then you are free to wander around.
4. On your right there's a large pool room with a sports bar (cricket and rugby on TV), and the main club with a stage on the left. Down the corridor in the middle they also have a smaller room with a stage for special shows.
5. I usually go straight to the bar in the main club, it's the best view of the stage with the added convenience of watching all the girls go by. I order a drink and relax. The girls will see you come in, and some may come up to you and ask if you want company. A polite 'no thanks' and a smile to the first few will keep them off your back. If I see someone I like, I smile at them and they'll come over. We chat, and if I think they are nice I buy them a drink. This is where I sort out the nicer girls from the nasty drunken girls. Sooner or later they will ask you if you want to sit at a table, this will allows them to rub our crotch while they negotiate a price (150 to 200 rands on week days, may be a little higher on weekends when demand is stronger). If you are lucky, your raffle number may get called throughout the evening and you may win a cheap local bubbly.
6. If you can agree on a price ,you both finish your drink and you follow her (yes in front of everybody) to the main foyer where you take one of the elevators to her room. Ah, I remember those silent elevator rides as you and the other punters try to avoid eye conact while your respective mates rub their asses against your crotch. The rest, I take it, you will figure out on your own. Oh yes, assume the girl you are with has AIDS.
7. I usally like to have a drink before I go, and sure enough my taxi is waiting.
I've come to rather like the Summit Club. The seer seediness of Hillborough is half the thrill. The girls in general are friendly, although some can get rude when they get drunk. I treat them nice and they are great fun. On weekends it can get roudy, in a 'sports bar' kind of way, Wednesdays and Thursdays are nice but mondays and Tuesday the place can be rather empty. Most of the girls are black, a some are coulered (mixed) and a few are oriental. The very few white girsl are usually only strippers and will not go with you, so if you want a white girl this is not the place to go. They have a web site, by the way (www.summitclub.co.za). It will give an idea of the size of the room. On average you will find between 20 to 30 girls, more on week-ends.

Couldn't agree with you more. The only Blacks in the Summit Club are foreigners, and, as a Black American, I've found my color to be as much a hinderance as an advantage (Nigerians have developed a bad reputation around South Africa, and many women think I'm Nigerian until I tell them otherwise).
As for the safety issue, your biggest risk is walking across the street from the parking lot to the club, but toss the guy a Rand or two and he'll escort you across.
The Summit Club is a very smooth, professional operation that knows it's good business to keep you happy: in short, they'd rather you give them your money voluntarily than to just rip you off. Furthermore, this club is still technically illegal. If somebody could demonstrate a link between club management and the "freelance" bar girls, the club would likely be closed as a brothel. The best way to have this happen is to have pissed off, ripped off customer complaining to the cops.
That said, I might reiterate Luis' advice--
Take a cab and go straight in. Do not sight see, do not be a cheapskate and take a bus or bush taxi there. If you drive, consult a map BEFORE you leave your hotel, as there are a number of one-way streets down there, and you do not want to drive around looking like you're lost. Oh yeah, and the AIDS thing too.

i travel often to johannesburg on business and make it a point to stay as far away from hillbrow as i can. i was almost hijacked by a group of nigerian guys a few years ago when i got lost in the city and ended up in hillbrow.
i wouldn`t advise anyone to travel to hillbrow alone, especially if it`s your first time in johannesburg. most south africans who value their lives haven`t driven anywhere near hillbrow for the past 10 years. it`s been turned into a huge cesspool where murder, [CodeWord123] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord123) and hijackings are commonplace.
the nigerians control most of the johannesburg cbd. hillbrow has to be on of the most dangerous places in the world once the sun goes down. even the police are shit scared to venture into the area at night.
my advice would be to stick to the more upmarket venues in sandton, randburg and fourways. it may cost a few rand more but the quality of girls will be better and those areas are much safer.

I agree the Hillbrow area is not safe. But there are other places in the Hillbrow/ Joubert Park/ Berea areas that provide some interesting alternatives to the Summit Club.
The basic ground rules have been stated in a few posts but they are worth repeating:
- NEVER walk anywhere after dark. Even a couple of blocks can be too far.
- Public transport is virtually non existant other than taxis which are not always easy to find and are quite expensive. If you've got a couple of days or more in Johannesburg, hire a car. Car hire is relatively inexpensive and it gives you freedom of movement. Most of the mongering in Johannesburg - other than the few clubs mentioned on this board - is done from private houses in the suburbs. A car makes hundreds (literally) of women available within a 20 to 30 minute drive.
- Always drive with the car doors locked and the windows closed, especially at night.
- Always use a condom - even for BBBJ. You can catch some nasty things from the mouths of Jhb sex girls!
So, if you're bored with the Summit Club, or just want something different, try these:
1. The German Club. (NOT the one in the phone book which is a country club catering for Germans!) This is situated in Joel Street in Berea. Not in the phone book and not mentioned on the internet anywhere. At least, not that I could find. It has no name board outside but has German and other flags hanging outside. Not a great area to be in but its safe enough from the security of a car. To get there, drive south along Lily Avenue in Berea (going towards the city centre from the Sandton side) and turn right into Joel Street. The "club" is about half way down the block on the left hand side. The entrance is not obvious as it is closed at night for security reasons. Immediately after you pass the flags there is a solid sliding door which is the entrance to the secure parking. Just stop outside and a guard will open the gate for you and close it immediately behind you. This used to be the main bar in the area but there are several others that have cropped up nearby and the girls tend to go there first and gravitate to the German club later. It's generally humming from about 11.00 pm and closes at 4.00am. Basically it's unashamedly a brothel although some guys do go there just for the bar atmosphere. Most of the girls in the bar live in the rooms upstairs. I have never seen any girls other than blacks in this bar. Mostly they are visitors from countries to the north there for a few weeks before moving on. Lately there seem to be quite a few girls from Zambia. There are lots of dogs in this bar - probably a 3 or a 4 on my scale but you get the occasional looker. Later on at night there are lots of 6's and 7's and sometimes an 8 if you're lucky! Prices seem to be the same for the 3's and for the 8's which is quite quaint and makes it worth waiting for the better lookers. Most girls will go with you for R150 but I usually give R200, especially if the service has been good. That's one thing about the black girls in Jhb. They nearly all love sex. Although it's their job they generally set out to enjoy themselves as much as you. Big contrast to the white girls who often (although there are exceptions) give a mediocre performance and charge much more for it.
2. Steves. This is also in Joel Street but turn left from Lily Avenue instead of right. The place also has no sign board outside but it's easy to find the floodlit car park along on the left. Parking is secure (guard) who will show you which way to walk to the bar.
3. Club 109. So named because it's situated at 109 Lily Avenue, just off Louis Botha Avenue. Also no sign outside and similar parking arrangement to the German Club. Just wait outside and someone will open the gate. If the parking's full, there's an overflow parking area around the corner in Louis Botha Avenue. This seems to be the "in" place at the moment. Again nearly all black girls but not exclusively. Much more lively in the early evening than the other two places mentioned. The girls seem to go there first and then move on to places like the German Club later.
4. For the really brave, try the Royal Park Hotel in Joubert Park. Situated in on the corner of Nugget and Leyds Streets. This is a terrible part of town even during the day and I only go in if I can get parking in Leyds Street in the same block that the hotel is in. There are always a few taxis parked right outside so a taxi is a proposition if you don't have your own car. There are lots of undesirable looking characters hanging around in the street who ostentatiously point out parking spaces to you. They invariably offer to "look after your car" and I always agree for fear of what will happen if I don't! They are always there when you get back to the car and they do seem to genuinely look after it so as to ensure their tip. Five rand usually satisfies them. The Royal Park holds itself out to be an "entertainment centre". They have a fairly large and lively bar which has a big screen for music videos and have fairly tame strip shows there some nights but there doesn't seem to be any regularity to these. There's also a separate bar with pool tables. The nights they have a strip show they charge R20 or R25 cover charge to go in. Other nights it's free. The hotel has several floors and the place is really just one big brothel - like the Summit Club. The girls - nearly all black but usually a few Thai's as well -are a bit pushy and it's impossible to avoid being propositioned on a constant basis. Some of them are really ugly but some of them are quite decent looking. Girls seem to come mainly from either Zambia or Mocambique. Some of the Mocambiquans are very good looking and all seem to have a voracious appetite for horny sex. The going rate here also seems to be R150 - even for the good looking girls. Many of them will do doubles if you want them to. It's mainly active at night but it's also open in the afternoons with a reasonable number of girls available. The bars close at about midnight.

I noticed a question about Sextrader.com and thought I'd post this report from my recent trip. As there is little info on Cape Town in the archives, I thought I’d add some basic 411 on hobbying in the country.
First, sadly, I was in Cape Town the week following the Rugby game against New Zealand (part of the annual TriNations Cup). The reference point for most hobbyists in South Africa was a famous sex club in Johannesburg called the Ranch, which closed about 3 years ago. $50 got you full bar, dinner, a floor show and then for another $100 you had your pick of a girl, a room for a full hour, including a whirlpool bath either before or after. Since that club closed, most clubs across the Country are smaller venues with a handful of girls; these businesses operate either out of suburban houses converted into many studio suites or in central business districts where a floor of a commercial building will be reconfigured into anything from an AMP to a stripped down motel 6. I’ve spent a fair amount of time in many places and you just have to be prepared visit a couple places or take pot luck; you can have a night of too much choice or double paper sack. I’ve found over the years it’s best to ask when you phone who’s working (age and nationality etc. You’ll find the full range of cultures from Eastern European, Indian, Brazilian, Asian to South African bombshells and everything in between). Again, there are no signs and you need to get complete directions and door number when you call (021 426 1392). I think it was 47 Long St, second floor (for you Americans, that's actually the 3rd floor). Over the phone I was told that it was $50 bucks for a “pelvic” massage, but you could negotiate extras with any lady. A very beautiful large breasted woman in a thin t-shirt answered the door. She said she was the receptionist and recognized my accent from the phone. I told her breasts that I was disappointed when I called the previous evening and she explained that the day business was a different company than the evening. I grabbed a shower and when I got back to the room she was ready. She told me she was Cape Malay mixed with Mediterranean. If you’ve ever seen pictures of a young Lena Horne, you’d have her skin tone, and figure down although Stacy had much larger (natural) breasts. I took the full meal deal, which culminated in Stacy doing a kind of Russian squatting dance while bouncing on my pole. OhMyGod. And the complementary massage was nice too.

On a visit recently a local friend brought me to a new club/bar: Malasha. it is situated in Jan Smuts #268 and is very close to the Porsche garage.

Buzz you are right, I to have experienced what you are talking about, but it is only on new years eve when the furniture starts flying from the windows.
Personally I have been to the Summit Club many times and have always enjoyed it. Its the most cosmopolitan brothel i've been to. Girls from various eastern European countries, Thai chicks, white and black girls from S Africa as well as many other African countries.
However I would not deny that Hillbrow is dodgy. But with common sense it is definately do-able. Antoine, Joburg has a big crack problem and all the street hookers are addicts. There are plenty of them all around Hillbrow, but unless you know Joburg very well, dont even think about it. Im pretty sure Cape Malays are originally from Malaysia. Probably brought over by the brits in the colonial days to perform some task like they did with the Indians in Durban. They are Muslim and as the name implies nearly all of them are in Cape Town. Never had one myself but Im sure you will find some in Joburg as thats where all the money is.

Was in CPT last week and took the opportunity to visit a couple of establishments. I was staying at the Cullinan Hotel which is between the Waterfront and the City Centre. The only advice I can offer is try and use an ATM (at least initially) to get local currency- it takes like an hour to change money into Rand anywhere else. For some reason they have bizarre antiquated foreign exchange regulations...

I had good luck recently with the classified ads in the Star newspaper. Well, I checked out that site, virtualtourist and some others. However I always use ISG for more tips from a mongers point of view.
The info about places in Cape Town although quite a few isn't as detailed as others in for example the south american forums or the phillipines. Prices, addresses, taxi fares, etc. In the forums for South American countries one often comes up with a list of +20 addresses for almost any big city. For Cape Town it's way less.
Same for Kenya, but when in Kenya I understood that this was mainly because it's so fucking easy. Maybe Cape Town is really easy as well? Although I would think less so as there are more white people around.
Anyway as for hotels, what parts of town are the best to stay in to be close to the action: clubs, beaches, brothels?...

There's nothing in Joburg quite like Cyclone of Dubai as far as I know. The closest I've ever gotten is the Summit club and unless you're very adventurous you should probably stay away from there.

I would book the Holiday Inn or even something at the airport, just in case or there are a string of nice hotels in Sandton where you can find lots of ladies, or a agency or two. Check sextrader. protea balalaika, holiday inn among others.
Sadly you are changing planes in Joburg, cause if you were doing same in Cape Town, you could go to Body Heat website, they seem to offer an overnight option out of the airport (pick up, girl, etc etc).
If you go to Joburg and decide on clubs instead of an indie, Papillon is pretty good. Most of the agency/club/houses are small affairs, 4 to 10 ladies in a reconverted house. 600 rand for an hour is pretty good price, airport to downtown is probably 300 to 400 rand, so right there you are at 1500. I would think anyone who would give you a night, a place, and all the fixings is CHEAP. TOO CHEAP on one hand, but I suspect you will be asked to help pay gas, maybe a nice tip. I can't tell right now about the economy and business. But the price seems good. It's now ++ R6 to $1. A hotel is about 750 for something 3 star near the airport or in Sandton, up to 2000 - 3000 rand for 4/5 star. If you can have a lady for the night for less than the price of a 4 star hotel and car service, you've done well mate. I assume you'll DINE at the Y and save your money on food as well.

About girl prices, I have called about 30 girls so far in Joburg from the web sites and the average price quoted for a younger black girl, quite new to this and without too much experience is between 300 rand to 450 per hour or 1500 to 2000 per night. BlastoffIn my humble opinion, it is no harder or easier to get girls out of clubs than in most urban areas of the world. Some will go and others will lead you on. An accent probably makes it easier to get to know them, but this isn't parts of South America or even Central/Northern Africa where it is likely you'll hit on someone - and can count on it. At least not someone you want to be with for the night unless you had a bottle of scotch in your belly. If you had a coulple nights, and had a hotel room, you could play this game of pick up. But with only one night, you would be playing russian roulette with your sex life. You have to remember that there is still considerable violence in driving around at night, not what it once was, but few ladies would go to a club by themselves, more likely in small groups. CLubs outside of hotels are often in and around larger venues like shopping malls, casinos (MONTE CASINO is incredible. If you do get stuck, that is somewhere to prowl.) It's a casino style village with multiple eating drinking establishment and a central gambling place. Pretty cool, and you'll find everything from families to singles out on the town. At Sandton Square you'll also find clubs, bars, and restaurants but I think you'd do better at the less flashy hotels. Still again, with only one night, how would anyone know which hotel bar to try and whether you are there at the right hour? I used to have some luck at TGIFs (Thank god it's fridays - club but the last time i visited the age of the girls was moving down, and I sadly was moving up). I think this is between Sandton and Ilova areas.
At Teazers - the strip club with the most attractive ladies/may still have several locations - it is very hard to get one out of the bar without paying obscene amounts. This kind of scam is usual in many countries.
I find the trick in most cases is when the girl calls you, do not ever speak to her unless you arranged her to call you in advance. She will try a few times and then give up as you will be a "To Hard" customer.
Same thing was tried on me in Cuba, Colombia, Philippines, Thailand and several other countries. In most cases I dont talk to them but in a few cases they were waiting for me in the lobby, I asked what they wanted and said I had friends waiting for me in my room so they couldn't come up. When she told me I asked her to wait and went and told the head of the hotel security what was happening and gave him a tip in advance. He took her into his office and I never saw her again LOL.
I say let the locals handle these local scams as they know exactly what to do with them. I found out later in one case the security roughed the girl up. I was unhappy about that and told them so. This is not the way I work.

I was in Joburg for a short time both this July and August. I too used sites like the sex trader and in fact had called many of the girls advertised in advance from my country before I left. Prices ranged from 450 RAND short time in their apartments to 10,000 RAND all night LOL. I think this blond asking 10,000 was dreaming lol. I found Black girls to be cheaper priced, then colored girls then white girls asked the most. Often the white girls wanted 3,500 RAN all night out of the Sex Trader. Again I told them they were dreaming and that this was Africa.
I found the quality of sex extremely high in Joburg. Most girls that were used to foreign customers did everything and most new exactly where to touch and when.
There seems to be an obsession in Joburg for the girls to put their finger in your ass during the blow job lol. They call it a “Prostate Massage” lol. I found things that are hard to find in other parts of Africa like rimming and anal are easily found in Joburg.
I suggest that the Sex Trader and similar web sites are for busy people and tourists because there are so many other cheaper and as good options in Joburg once you get to know your way around.
Soweto for example, is made up of 6 suburbs and was VERY different to how I imagined it. It has areas with rich houses starting at USD$500,000 each and real estate is booming in the area, so it is not all slums and danger as it is advertised in my country. None the less there are slums but the crime is nowhere near as bad as we in the West are told. I was VERY comfortable there. There are dozens of bed and breakfast house (and some VERY nice ones ) in Soweto. The asking prices are between USD$30 to $50per night and the quality is great. Try and avoid the end of August and the windy seasons as the dust and pollution from the gold mines will make your eyes water all day.
These bed and breakfast houses usually have a young man working there who can hook you up with the local girls. Prices are nominal and even USD$10 for the night will be greatly appreciated by the girl if she does not have a lot of experience with foreigners. You can hook up with a girl for the whole time you are there if you like and she will stay with you 24/7 if for very small money.
One of the suburbs is called Rockdale or something like that and it has a club in it called “The Rock”. This place really happens some nights and picking up a girl is like shooting fish in a barrel. No money is discussed and what ever you give her in the morning is fine my experience. These girls are not spoilt like the ones in Sex Trader and don’t expect big money. They are just happy to be with you and sleep in your bed and eat your food. What ever you give them after that is up to you.
Taxis are a total rip off in Joburg so avoid them where possible. I found that negotiating with a private and local car owner was the way to go. Usually the bed and breakfast operator will know some one. You can hire a driver and car all night for the cost of a taxi from the airport to Soweto.
Soweto has many nice and safe bars and clubs and an unlimited number of black girls dieing to meet you. I think it is an undiscovered paradise by international mongers.
Hillbrow is an other suburb of Joburg that is so underrated by mongers and feared by tourists. Find yourself a local driver as I explained above and get your ass down there. After 5pm the streets become alive with what looks like millions of people. Life is lived on the streets in this suburb, not indoors. You can get whatever you want here. African teen Queens for a couple of bucks are everywhere if you have your driver talk to the Nigerian underworld and pimps that dominates the prostitution in that area. You will feel uncomfortable at first being the only foreigner there especially if you are not black but you will soon settle in to the rhythm of the place and have a great experience. Don’t go alone. Go with a local or driver and walk with him. He will keep you out of harms way and show you how it’s done.
Hillbrow is the home of the famous Summit Club (Fuck club). You pay an entrance fee of around USD$25 (I cant remember exactly) and that includes entrance, food, all drinks and shows. If you want sex you pick a girl, pay around USD$40 and got to one of the rooms and enjoy yourself until you cum. Once that is done, your time is up. If it takes you 5 minutes or 1 hour, no one will rush you but once you shoot your load, the girl quickly leaves.

Thanks for your views but I do not share them. I would be the least race segregating person you will meet. Most of my girlfriends over the last 25 years have been of Asian or African decent and I am white.
When I arrived in Joburg, I did so with an open mind and a friendly and respectful attitude to everyone and found the black population were particularly receptive to my attitude and extremely helpful and friendly to me.
I did though note that the local white population did not carry my ideals. They were noticeably very rude and aggressive in their dealings with the black population in my limited time and experience there.
This is only my observation coming from Australia, which is an ethnically diverse country and not a white country as many foreigners may think, therefore we are used to dealing with many races on a daily basis and most of us here don't think twice about the differences.
I believe that if a person is of bad nature that is a character trait not a colour thing and the same can be said for nice guys.
Again I enjoyed my time in Soweto VERY much and I was treated well by the locals and I will be travelling back there again to discover more.

I must second the opinion about dangerous areas in Joburg, where I lived for three years in the 1980s. It takes only one bad dude to off you forever if he thinks that he doesn't like a whitey or thinks you have some money. And regardless of your economic status, you are likely to have things that many blacks can only dream off. In addition to which, you are screwing their women.
Also remember that the official advice that the Joburg police give is that you can run any red light if you feel that stopping would put you in danger of carjacking or such.

I don't wonder around these places, I go with guys that live there in that suburb and are well connected there and it is in their interest to keep me safe or they don't get paid. The guides I choose are connected to places I am involved with like my hotel, car rental company, work etc so it is not in their interest to have anything happen to me.
About duel citizenship, be careful here as the U.S.A. does not recognise duel citizenship of any other country last time I checked. It is unfortunate but Uncle Sam wants those tax dollars no matter where you go. LOL.
I may take you up on your kind offer to take a look at the Cape some time. May be this December if you are there.

As far as deal citizenship, I do use my S.A. passport to get into South Africa that's about it. When I am in country I use my ID book and Drivers licence for most other things(Absa transactions in bank etc...) However when leaving or returning to the U.S. I use my U.S. passport. Since it has a permanent resident sticker on it They can't stamp it.
Other then that I have used my ZA passport to go to Cuba whereas a U.S. passport would have raised questions with U.S. Customs. But as far as flying I tend not to fly alot anymore due to heavy security and terrorists all over the place.
I do work in the U.S. and I was born in the U.S. I became a dual citizen by way of marriage. They have since changed the lay you now have to wait 5 years before you can apply for anything including an I.D. number.
But I am actually enjoying my Labor Day here in a nice western rocky mountain state(LOL!).

Blastoff -- Yes, there is no need to hide dual citizenship, if you are an American. Its perfectly legal and longstanding.
Item: In South Africa, many whites also has dual citizenship. Lots of people with British or Israeli passports. I also knew someone who kept his Ugandan and Kenyan passports current, just in case.
Well thanks for the update, as it’s news to me. I know of 2 friends who tried to relinquish their U.S. citizenship and get a passport from an other country (I know this is not duel citizenship in this e.g.) and they had nothing but trouble from the U.S. Government.
I also know of an other guy that had duel citizenship and tried to claim some tax relief because of it and the IRS were all over him.

What he has posted is correct. And that's what I do. I use my U.S. passport to depart the U.S. for South Africa. I then Use my South African Passport to enter through South African Customs(What Customs LOL!!). I then Re-Use my U.S. passport to re-enter the United States. Since I have a department of home affairs sticker(Temp residence permit valid for 3 years at a time!) there are no questions asked.

Even though it's legal I tend not to screw with U.S. customs. I have seen if you seem to act weird go fast etc they sometimes will yank you, and in these days it's more likely. Last time I flew through Frankfurt from S.A. they yanked at least 10 people from my flight. This is why I am careful.
I have never had a problem, never. But just be careful people. All the terrorism crap going on most U.S. government agencys and airlines are being very cautious and seem to be yanking and throwing people left and right these days.

They could easily see that you don't have an entree stamp of any country on the date of leaving the US. How do you deal with that? Or they never checked the other stamps? Or you always fly through another country first? Still, than you would have an exit stamp there of that country with the date of entering SA...

Knowing that any South African stamps could cause problems for the passport holder in black African countries, South African officials were perfectly willing to issue your visa on a separate piece of paper. They would then stamp your arrival and departure on that piece of paper.
At first I did not know that. I almost got turned around at the Kampala airport, when they discovered a South African visa in my passport.
That, of course, is all past history. Today South Africa is truly the continent's economic superpower. Since its eduation system for blacks during apartheid was rotten, every M.D. and account from black Africa wants to move to South Africa to earn some real money.

Screwed up:
In response yo your question: U.S. customs does not stamp a U.S. passport upon leaving the U.S. They also do not Stamp U.S. passports upon arrival. They basically use any stamps or stickers you may have gotten on your trip to verify where you have been(To see if your story checks out!).
I always am forced to fly through another country. Usually The Netherlands or Germany. Since at both Schipol and Frankfurn Main you are in the Sterile area and not entering the EU or that physical country you never go through passport control. You are screened again however. In Frankfurt you are hand searched and your bags go through X-Ray. In the Netherlands they tend to line everyone up, ask questions etc then search and x-ray.
Please keep in mind that these procedures ARE ONLY FOR FLIGHTS TO THE U.S. do to security and terrorists etc.... I would have to say I prefer Frankfurt to Amsterdam. London well I have been once so I can't say how security is now these days.
Now when boarding flights to South Africa, rarely is there a screening process. The only time I have been asked a question was at London and they just asked me where are you going today?? I think it was because alot of construction was going on and some people have the tendancy to get on a wrong flight. Both from Schipol and Frankfurt main the boarding process was simple with nobody checking anything but your ticket.
Now on the otherhand if I wanted to go into the EU let's say there may be a problem with 2 passports being on my person. I usually keep the S.A. passport in my hand baggage and my U.S. on my person. I do however hold in my handbags as well my S.A. I.D. booklet and have my ZA D.L. on me. There may be a suspision boarding a flight to the U.S. coming from the E.U. as my place of embarkment I.E. I am leaving from Frankfurt after staying a week for buisness. There may be questions asked etc.. But If I am going to be doing this I just will keep my U.S. passport.
As I have stated earlier I do have a sticker from Home affairs that I have to renew every 2 years. It's a temp resident permit, but a bit different from what you get at the airport. U.S. customs never really cares because my story checks out I never lie. Plus I am wearing a rugby shirt and Have Blackie Swart and Dozi DVD's that I do claim and list for U.S. customs.
I understand what you're saying with the ZA passport never having a U.S. visa or stamp on it. This was a matter I had to clear up, which I did. If you want specifice please private I.M. me. All I can say is I do have something in it. So I have never been asked anything by anyone. Gotta love the ZA customs guys overworked underpaid!!. But this was a matter I cleared up with the ZA home affairs people when I got the pssport(Rather my attorney cleared it up!)
Hope this helps. It's simple all I do is use my ZA passport to enter ZA that's it. I can use my U.S. to come and go as I please as well. So I guess it dosen't really matter. But I do know that a ZA passport is worthless really. You need visas for alot of countrys whereas my U.S. I don't.

Funny thing is that I got a ticked in Strand, Western Cape. I have residences in Roiels and Somerset West. I have a Land Rover Bakkie with CFM plates(Somerset West). The ticket was for like R 300 or something. I started yelling at the meter maid or whatever she was parking enforcement I can' remember(Talking on my cell phone while driving)
Keep in mind she was white, funny thing is that she forgot to write in the spaces marked vary clearly my plate number my D.L. number the make of the car etc... Funny thing is If i were her I would have taken time!!.
So I go to the Strand courthouse the next day to see the Magistrate to get the ticked thrown out or pay it R 300 please(LOL!!) ticket would have been double in the U.S. I went to see him, handed him the ticket, he stamped it with something official, and them was more interested in where in the states I was from then the ticket. The judge was a black man.
As I like to say WELCOME TO SOUTH AFRICA.

here are two other war stories about apartheid south africa in the 1980s.
i once needed to spend a night in soweto, the black township outside johannesburg. i went to see a mr. phillips, a dedicated public servant at the rand administration board, because, as a white, i needed an official permit to go to black soweto. "may i ask why you need it?" mr. phillips asked. "i want to visit some shebeens (illegal taverns)," i answered.
so i got a legal permit to do illegal things, a contradiction i will always treasure. no one ever checked my permit, although the security police, with their white toyota bakkies (pickup trucks), were clearly visible on the roads leading to and from soweto.
i had an in with mr. phillips, a dirty old man. whenever i went outside south africa, i bought a copy of playboy for him. those were banned in south africa.
once i was coming from mauritius and got stopped at the customs. "do you have anything to declare?" i was asked. i assured i had none. "not even a copy of playboy?" they asked. "no," i answered.
when they opened my suitcase, the first thing they saw was a copy of playboy. (i always made sure that illegal stuff was on the top, so they would lose interest about everything else).
they confirep001ed it, giving me an official receipt. "detained," it said, "one copy of playboy."
do you think they still might have it at jan smuts, or whatever they call the joburg airport these days?
item: if you came from europe, you could avoid the customs altogether. the only thing you needed to do was to step off the plane in nairobi but let your luggage go on to joburg. after a night or two of whoring, you would go to joburg and fetch your suitcase from the unclaimed luggage room without any inspection. this is how got "banned" literature into the country, everything ranging from political stuff i needed in my work to some more risque stuff.
south africa was a very interesting country. during my three years, i never got laid there, though, because i felt my position was too sensitive. for that, i always went to kenya. neither did i try south african native weed, which i gather is out of sight. once in mombasa, kenya, when i scored some reefer, i asked the guy in the market how i would know it was any good.
"man," he said, "i supply the whole (u.s. ) seventh fleeet. for u.s. $20, i got a brown paper bag so big that i had to flush much of the stuff down the toilet, because i could not risk to take it to south africa.
all that is past history now, of course.

As far as passport control/Customs in South africa I have only been searched once coming off a KLM flight from Amsterdam(Worst flight ever not to mention airline!!) I did come into Cape Town at about 11 P.M. For some reason the green channel was not in place. When I went into the line, they yanked me.
Funny thing Is that I declared nothing I must have has R 5000 worth of cosmetics etc.... Nothing happened they made a mess of everything i had packed and I got a hand pat down, and a "Thank you stay out of trouble". At that time I was using my U.S. passport to enter Z.A.
I was out of Customs faster then most people going through the regular line. As far as J'burg airport that place is a zoo. Nobody cares, at lease that what I have seen. A while back there was a strike when I was coming back from Basaruto, Mozambique. There was nobody in Customs or passport control at all!!.
As I say Welcome to South Africa.!!!!

Ron Weasley -- I really need to get my ass back there soon. Of course, today's South Africa is a totally different country. At least officially its attitudes toward sexual conduct are among the most enlightened in the world.
I am sure that debauchery continues. In the 1980s I remember going to a Hillbrow dive one night and almost stumbling inside because so many drunken whites -- men and women -- were lying on the floor in a state of stupor. South Africans truly are among the world's nastiest drunks -- and I have lived in Russia and Scandinavia!
In South Africa, I knew that white women, partkicularly Afrikaners, were horny as hell. Trying to get familiar with non-whites, while possible, was a no-no during the apartheid years because I knew I was under security police surveillance and the law prohibited sex across the color line. Tasting the forbidden fruit in neighboring countries was possible, whether it was in Lesotho or Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwean white women were particularly aggressive, wanting to get out of Mugabe's hellhole.
During my time, I traveled widely in Africa and mostly mongered in Kenya and Tanzania. Which brings me to today. Today, I had some business in Montgomery County, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. Lots of French-speaking African women as cashiers in local service establishments like supermarkets and fast-food restaurants. An interesting scenario. The area also has a substantial Ethiopian population. The problem is I always found Ethiopian women pretty, but lousy in the sack.
In fact, the same goes for most other African women I have been with, although I once had an outstanding honey in Liberia. She was from the Gambia and, as a Muslim, had some no-nos like blowjobs. But the sex was wonderful.
As to black American women, I don't know whether it's the McDonald's food or what, but they can be outstanding, particularly if you find someone who intelligent. However, in our hobby the problem is to find someone who is not horribly addicted. Interstingly, I have met many addicts who appeared very intelligent and well-educated. But as the old saying goes, never fuck someone who has worse problems than you do (although I have broken this rule).
The area I know best is Baltimore. Cheap prices, but lots of heroin. And if not heroin, lots women geeking of crack.

KLM used to be among the best airlines in the world. Until its economic woes and takeover by Air France.
The whole European airline sector has gone through some painful times. Gone are Swissair, another fine airline in its prime, Sabena, the Caledonian (which used to service West Africa) and many others. In fact, when I am sleepless, instead of sheep, I count airlines that went out of business.
There was also this peculiar Luxemburg-based apartheid-busting airline called Luxair that used to fly to South Africa. Its operations were very secretive.
How is South African Airways these days? The 18-hour Joburg-to-New York run was a killer. I had never before or after seen people sleeping in the aisles.
Do they still refuel on Cape Verde?
