I've had inconsistent results with both Landmark and Sheraton. Somewhat slightly better with Sheraton, though. The best was when the particular Maggie's girl carried ME into the hotel since I had lost severely while playing the 'dice game' !! It also depends who is staying at the hotel. For example if there is a foreign delegation that may have sensitive government guests, you'll find it more difficult. If you come to Beijing to play, then I suggest staying in the 3-4star business hotels that cater more to Chinese businessmen. There are many in town, and some are definitely as good as the 5 star ones. The prices are right, too - once I rented the entire top floor wing ( 6 rooms) for less than a single night at Traders!
I have been to Beijing numerous times, but have only been in a position to monger a few times. It appears that the "girl friendliness" of a hotel is a big issue to enjoying oneself on a visit to monger there. Maybe we should start a definitive list of hotels and their "girl friendliness".
My own personal experience is in three hotels.
Hilton: Several mongering experiences and never hassled with a girl, even late at night.
Landmark: One experience and one rejection.
Sheraton: One experience and no problem, but others have indicated many problems bringing girls into the rooms.
So...
Hilton = Girl Friendly

Landmark = Not Girl Friendly
I would be happy to develop a list, but would need the participation of some of the Beijing regulars (although the quality of the girls will have me coming to Beijing more frequently...LOL).
In China (and not only in China,) you can always try to drop a tip on the guard, a smoother transaction than registering a short-time guest.

Actually, I think it's more accurate to say -- 'Thats China'. Since the staffs of any Hotel or service are very low paid any money that they can receive extra of their salary is welcome. And for that little extra they will accomplish many positive things for the gift giver. Including easing of the bureaucratic restrictions, plenty of extra towels, good food service or even that perfect '3 am massage' . Personally I prefer to be off on the right step with my doorman and concierge from the moment I arrive.
As for posting a list of hotels - hmmmm. YMMV since many things come into play. Th official rules are quite strong on this policy of no guests after 11. So - any relaxing of this policy is based on a case by case basis by the hotel staff. Combined with crackdowns, other visitors, the guest's attitude, KTV competition, etc etc , there will always be some variation.
For example in the Sheraton I've probably had better than 88% positive experience, and where I had any issues, they could be solved rather quickly with the doorman or manager. In the Landmark the situation is a little more difficult. I even had problems with my Chinese GF - but again, they were solved after careful explanation of the circumstance.
By and large, if you are polite, firm and confident then you'll have no problem working out any issues. On the woman side it always helps to make sure she is dressed properly like any other guest on a 'dinner date'. It also doesn't hurt for her to have a small briefcase. Another tip - if you KNOW you are going to have evening guests in your room, AND you are staying in a grand hotel, then you should definitely pre-register for a second occupant. You will avoid many of the hassles.

I have tried this great sauna near Wudaoko a couple times. The massages there have been the best in my short career. It's north of the Xueyuan Lu/Chengfu Lu Intersection, on the eastern side. Bright mirrored place. Definitely classy, but with classy prices.
No. 326 is this Wenzhou girl (7)with a friendly attitude slim, toned figure and a nice pair of firm tits with pink nipples I could not say no too. So I had the 2-1/2 hr w/ breast rub. Damage: 750+80entrance

Here are three saunas in in Chaoyang area of Beijing. All are close by to each other. Start from Zhaolong Hotel, which is on corner of 3rd Ring Rd. East and Gongti Bei Rd, the same road that the Sanlitun Bar Street is on. Continue east from Zhaolong Hotel (the direction of 4th Ring Rd). When you cross 3rd Ring Rd. the road name changes from Gonti Bei Rd to somethng else. Not sure what it is, but continue east and pass over 4th Ring Rd. Past 4th Ring, turn RIGHT at the second traffic light. Then, on the left side of the road, about 100 meters down the road, is a big sauna place. At this place they offer a massage/blow job/breast massage combo for around RMB300-350. Nice clean upscale place. The girls vary month to month. Always best to decline and see the next one if you don't like the one they bring.
The second sauna: from the one just described, continue about 30 meters or so and make the first right turn. Then the sauna is on the right about 50 meters down the road. This place isn't as upscale, but they have FS for 400 and generally a good selection.For RMB600 you also get blow job and extra fake moaning; for 800 add on breast massage and sweet whispers in your ear.
Also, there is a third sauna in this area: from the first sauna described, continue straight ahead (south) on the road, past the intersection, and it's on the right around 100 meters down the road. This sounds like a good idea. I have spent quite a bit of time on the phone trying to determine GF-ness of hotels. Found a couple good ones. My inquiries on GF-ness of hotels were un-answered in this thread. I believe they simply were lost among many other posts. So, I support the idea of having a thread on GF hotels/apartments.

Lang Tao Sha Spa was one of my first Beijing mongering experiences. The spa area (showers, tubs, etc.) was better than many and the rooms were very pleasant with large beds. You can order the deluxe package with the host as soon as you get to the room. If I remember, total charges came to around 1,100 kuai.
Providers I had were all 6-7 on looks, about the same on service. No FS available. It wasn't until I saw one outside that this was possible. As far as I can tell, the management must check the girl's kits to make sure that they don't have any condoms. Twice I got CBJ, once with a sandwich baggie and once with shrink-wrap. Once, I just laid back and enjoyed what I thought was a great BBBJ. It turned out to be a neat trick with baby oil and using the crook between her chin and her neck.
All in all - won't repeat now that I know of better options.

They didn't have the English menu and I went for the most expensive service there. After the shower I was taken to a private room. After a while a boy in white coat with a big medical box/kit arrived. I had no idea what was going on and immediately left the place.
The point is I didn't ask for the right service and the most expensive service may not be the right service that we are looking for.
Please advise what I tell them. I have no Mandarin skills.

Talking of the lowest of the lowest, I was down LangFang on business the other day and on exiting the toll gate to come into to the town (trading estate) the two chinese guys in the car confirmed immediatley that there is a "red light" area if you take the first right. We did not go, so I cannot expand, but I may have to go back this week, so I will at least try and get them to drive past to see how bad it looks!

Thanks Sid for your support. I could't find the massage place. I walked around the city center. Many barber shops but they are quite inocent. So I did what I had to do. Took a taxi driver. Paid him 20 rmb and he took me on a one hour tour. Showing me so many places. With some nice girls. Price. Around 500 for full service. I got so tired that I skipped the action and saved it for another day.

This lead to a growing problem of another sort, and the provider offered to take care of it if he got another session. I would caution that you make sure of the cost of this additional session. If you have trouble communicating in Chinese, I think hand signals would work well enough to know how much you can expect to pay at the end, in additional to the first session and the entrance fee. Oh and for your information, they accept cash and UnionPay cards, but no Visa/Mastercard/AMEX.
That's about it from my experience at this place. The deluxe package that BeijingRichard mentioned a couple of posts back intrigues me, but I have no idea how to order it. I would invite BeijingRichard to add in any other comments or advice that I missed, especially since he has been there quite a few more times than I have.
And lastly for your amusement, I've taken the list from their website and translated all the services that I understand. I also added pinyin in case you know how to pronounce it. Otherwise, you can just memorize the prices and point to the one you want on the menu. I don't think they have English menus, but I remember that the host I had spoke a little English.

I had a French friend who went there for all the wrong reasons (went hiking that day, sore muscles, actually wanted a massage). The massages there are somewhat touchy-feely, so he was pretty shocked when the provider started massaging his chest and ass. This lead to a growing problem of another sort, and the provider offered to take care of it if he got another session. I would caution that you make sure of the cost of this additional session. If you have trouble communicating in Chinese, I think hand signals would work well enough to know how much you can expect to pay at the end, in additional to the first session and the entrance fee. Oh and for your information, they accept cash and UnionPay cards, but no Visa/Mastercard/AMEX.
That's about it from my experience at this place. The deluxe package that BeijingRichard mentioned a couple of posts back intrigues me, but I have no idea how to order it. I would invite BeijingRichard to add in any other comments or advice that I missed, especially since he has been there quite a few more times than I have.
And lastly for your amusement, I've taken the list from their website and translated all the services that I understand. I also added pinyin in case you know how to pronounce it. Otherwise, you can just memorize the prices and point to the one you want on the menu. I don't think they have English menus, but I remember that the host I had spoke a little English.

Selling PJ in sauna seems to be standard thing in BJ. I also has the same experience. I told them using sign language either I go upstairs in towel or leave the sauna but won't buy PJ. The buggers then gave me the free one.

Yes, that's it! The Shi Yi right across the street from the Da Zhong electornics store. It really is not bad at all, but it is a step down from the Chun Xiu Lu sauna. Anyone acustom to local places will not have a problem with it, but someone on their first visit to Beijing might raise their eyebrows a little.
The first time I went they brought in the girls one at a time, but let me keep seeing different girls until I saw one I liked. The other 2 times they brought in a small line-up of 5 girls and let me pick. I am not sure if they had other girls in reserve as each time I picked from the first group.

Talking of the lowest of the lowest, I was down LangFang on business the other day and on exiting the toll gate to come into to the town (trading estate) the two chinese guys in the car confirmed immediatley that there is a "red light" area if you take the first right. We did not go, so I cannot expand, but I may have to go back this week, so I will at least try and get them to drive past to see how bad it looks!

Thought I'd give the girls at WangJing MP a break, as I've been using the July discount quite a bit the last couple of weeks, and went back to a place I hadn't been to in awhile - the MP in Tower B (2510) of Sunshine 100. I have never had a problem entering Maggies or being asked for a membership. I know that some bars in China that cater to Westerners will ask that of men of Asian origin. I take it from your nick that you are not of Asian origin, but I could be wrong. I also do not think that Maggies has this particular restriction, but, again, I could be wrong.

Maggie's turns into a "Members Only" club if you don't fit the admittance profile. Trust me, I'm a regular "member" and never ever possessed a membership card, or paid club dues (well, I kindof did, at the bar and to the ladies.)

The guest is male and caucasian
Maggie's definitely is a membership club if:
The guest is mainland Chinese
Maggie's can be hit & miss if:
The guest looks Chinese
The guest looks Indian or South Asian and is sloppily dressed

If you are denied entrance:
- Develop a haughty attitude. Don't beg, don't argue, develop an "excuse me???" posture
- Don't understand what he's saying. Don't understand or speak a word of Chinese. Speak rapid fire English.
- Say "Since when is Maggie's a membership club. It wasn't the last three times I've been here. You've got to be kidding me, my friend."
(The above ploys may or may not work. The Maggie's security force is the best in Bejing. They are well trained and sharp. They have a keen eye for regulars. Trying to bribe them is useless.)
- Go there with a regular. Sometimes, I take a Chinese friend and make his day (or night.) It's kindof sick that a Chinese is denied entry to a bar in his home country, whereas the foreigner is welcome. In Tokyo it's just the other way around. But this is China.
According to informed sources, the above policy, that may look like racial profiling, actually has to do with operational security. By keeping the local populace out, the local populace cannot be offended. Also, undercover law enforcement would have to undergo plastic surgery first. An effective barrier to entry. Keeping the supply side of the P4P to non-Chinese also has to do with the above safety measures.
You are in good hands at Maggie's.

At the entrance (where the 5 RMB hotdog stand is) we were stopped by the security who said: "Member Card please" (in Chinese). Both of us knew this would happen and we started speaking American English. Mock A Bee said: "Come on man.... What's a member card?", I said: "Hahaha... they meant our American Driver's license".... The security guard smiled at us, stood aside and signaled us to enter.
I guess the membership card is our spoken English? :D
In my trip, I visited Maggie all three nights and got to know one of the bars girls. She told me then that she is quiting work there and will come to Shanghai to find a job. According to informed sources, the above policy, that may look like racial profiling, actually has to do with operational security. By keeping the local populace out, the local populace cannot be offended. Also, undercover law enforcement would have to undergo plastic surgery first. An effective barrier to entry. Keeping the supply side of the P4P to non-Chinese also has to do with the above safety measures.

They have Thai Girls (she looked worse than Chinese option) and offer Thai massage for RMB 298 but I am not sure if they offered any thing more than massage. Place is relatively cleaner.
Due to language barrier I couldn't come to any conclusion. Near that place (on the other side of Oriental Garden Hotel) there is another massage parlour. I also was unable to gauge them as to what they offerred.

This place is about 95% legit. I've been there numerous times and there is no hinting towards extra service by the girls there. Then again, there was one time, and I mean only one time, that a girl hinted at extras and I obliged. She only offered a HJ for a price of 200RMB. It's the start of August, no more July specials at WangJing, time to try some new places. Went to the massage place on the ground floor of building 7 at China Central Place (Hua Mao Zhong Xin.? ) near Sunshine 100, around the corner on Dawang Lu. Building 7 is down near the strange round building in the middle of the compound; can't remember the name of the massage place but you can't miss it as they have a sign out front.
Took the Thai oil massage at 150 RMB for 45 minutes. Massage itself was so-so, the girl was not at all remarkable (maybe a 5), but as hoped for about half-way in she started massaging my balls and did the international signal for "you want handjob? ". This is really a great forum, would have spared me some experiences I made in the past.
Regarding Beijing, not much new I can contribute about Beijing (been here about 15 times from 1 to 3 weeks during the last years, staying about half of the year in Germany and half of the year in China).
I did not found anything on the pages I have read so far about the SW scene between China World Trade Center and Jianguo Hotel on Jianguomen Dajie. Was quite active in December last year and February this year. Just walk along at around 9:30 p.m. and you will be adressed by the girls, going prices were about 300 ST and 500 LT (after bargaining). But take care, also a lot of art students around there. Though i am not sure if it is still active at the moment. (Still in Guangzhou, which bar and street scene is pretty dead by the way)
Even if this is my first post I have to disagree with you Zhuren:
Ditch ALL HOPES of 'eventually hooking up' with a Maggie's drinking girl. She would get immediately fired.I agree that you should dish every hope to just go to Maggies and "Pick up" a bar girl with "Hi, what´s your name, where are you from, would you like to come to room". There's an OK place on Gulou Dajie abot midway down between the large intersection and the Tower itself. If you are heading to the tower, Its on the right. You'll walk up a flight of stairs with english and Chinese writing.
First off, its "legitimate" or at least seems to be on the surface.

I have some experience of the inner part of this area, close to third ring road, and Chaoyangmen ditiezhan. If you come out of ditiezhan and make sure that you are on the same side of the road as the Foreign Ministry take the first right past the foreign ministry. This area may have changed since I was last there because there's a lot of building going on, but keep walking down in a southerly direction. You enter, via a narrow lane, a residential area with some blocks of flats from the 60s and 80s. The road forms a T-junction and you can go left or right. Both are fine. Left and then first right and you come across at least one and possibly two bbs. One of these is probably legit, but you could try it on, that'll be the one with adverts for foot massage.
If neither of these please you, carry on until you come to a wider tree-lined street, with shops on the northern side, the side you have arrived from. About three or four of these walk-up shops are bbs, and I'm pretty sure all are safe bets for P4P. Keep going down this road and take the first left, now going south towards Yabaolu, and you will see a big building with sauna in neon on the top of it. This is a Russian area so they will likely speak to you in Russian. If you can hack that, then there are probably goodies to be found inside.

For those of you on the west side of Beijing, there is a KTV on the intersection of the West 4th ring road and Fucheng Lu. I am attaching the map from the mamasan’s business card and her number is 1391**50829 where th ** is the first 2 digits of James Bond’s agent number. Almost no English is spoken so you will need to have a Chinese speaker in your group to enjoy this place.
This KTV is attached to a 2 star quality hotel and the layout is similar to the non-highend ktv's in the Changping/Dongguan areas of South China and the quality is good but not close to 5 star quality. Of course the prices also were much less than 5 star prices.
For the large deluxe ktv room which easily accommodated our party of 7 guys plus their “dates” the total damages for the night was around Rmb1200. I believe this was the minimum room charge since we only drank beers (a lot!) and were told we still did not drink up to the minimum charge.
The charges were 2, 6, ?. We forgot to ask for the LT rate as we all opted for the short term in the hotel rooms arranged for the night at the adjoining hotel. The hotel rooms were Rmb250 per room. It was an interesting evening, as one by one each guy would wander out then back in after finishing his business while the party continued in the KTV room.
Overall looks of the dates ranged from around 5 to about 7 – no stunners or models. However the quality of service was overall around a 7 and the attitudes of the hostesses while in the KTV rooms was very very friendly. None of the stuck up attitude you sometimes get in the 5star quality KTV’s where the hostesses seem to think we should be entertaining them!
Overall, a very enjoyable KTV experience. Nothing extraordinary. Just a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere. We will go back!

I think city of Bejing is not ready for the 2008 game and city planning is poor. When I was there a few months ago the airport is a mess, lack of sign in english, and I have a time even finding a exit to the street and I speak and can read chinese. The airport is old and need upgrade badly.
Bejing should have planned for a new subway line and new airport long ago and I just learn that 2 new subway line from city to airport will not be complete until 2009 after the games. Vry poor planning .

Generally: No.
If you tip a taxi driver, he'll think you are crazy (and he'll take the money.)
In a popular restaurant, tip the girl that gets you a table (if you want to come back.) It will assure you a better table and priority service next time.
At Maggie's, if you sit with a bargirl (=Chinese) you are EXPECTED to tip her. She doesn't make any money off your drinks, as weird as it may sound. 300-500. If she starts pushing too many drinks ( = job security) explain to her that you'd rather tip her personally than add to the bottom line of the establishment. She'll understand - if she trusts you.
Maggie's take-out: If you pay the rack rate (800) no tipping required. Not even taxi money (if you lodge within reasonable distance.) If you pick her up early, and she's a looker, then she'll want to go back for more customers. Up to you to strike a deal if you want her for the night. If you pick her up late, and she's already been in the sauce, she'll usually happily sleep in your bed than going home to an apartment shared with 3-4 sisters from Ulan Bator.
Interesting piece of trivia: They usually collect after the fact. Don't cheat them. Word gets around quickly, and the Maggies security detail is effective and well connected.

I do not assume that Beijing is like all other big cities in China. Although Beijing is Big like other big cities in China, it is also the capital city of China. The capital cities of most countries are exposed to tourists and foreigners who had brought their culture from their own homeland. For this case; we are also ones who brought from the States the habit of tipping.
I agree with you that tips comes from our heart, I would tip a waitress a little more if she provides good service, I would tip the pros if she gave me good and satisfying time. But in understanding from what the Zhuren said that the Bar girls do not gets a commission from your drinks, I would tip them as a standard practice from now onwards. Like what you said; its from your heart so; whether its 30 RMB or 300RMB it’s a matter of how much appreciation you are showing to her. Zhuren thinks that a 300 – 500RMB tip is in appreciation of the bar girls for spending a whole night sitting and chatting with him, he feel happy about it, so he wants to pass on the happiness to her, so let that be it. If you think the 20 mins smile of your bar girl is not even worth 30RMB so let’s that be it.
For provider who gave me bad service, I would even take the last 1RMB of change while for provider that makes me happy, I do not mind leaving a little more in tips.
I would rather walk away with someone been happy with me than someone who would curse at me.

I just spent 2 wonderful days in FKK Oase in Frankfurt in June. 65 Euro entry and 50 per pop, I did 9 girls over the 2 day period. Although, I did not see any Mongolian girls, there must have been 10-12 other countries represented from which I tasted nearly all of them. You cannot compare prices with Beijing, but it worth every penny to me for this experience and I will do it again in a heartbeat. On the other hand, you cannot even compare Beijing with the rest of China, for example. IMHO, the pussy in Beijing is the most expensive in the country. 100RMB+ for a HJ in a BBS? Most BBS places in Guangdong include a HJ for 35 RMB with a one hour massage. Every place has its specialities and prices. Mongolians are a Beijing speciality that I truly enjoy, as well.

Sorry to bug you, but that's just not how it works.
First, the overlay you uploaded just has the 3rd Ring Road in it, and most people will know where that is. Maybe I'm dense, but I could not find the rest you mentioned.
Second, developing an overlay in Google earth, and then sending it around, does not provide a community service. The secret is to
- mark the spot
- add helpful information
- and then post it in the appropriate Google Forum (such as Travel)
This way, the information is available to all. And references can be sent around as easily as sending a link.
It did it for the Pig. It's a place which I'm not terribly fond of, but anything for the cause.

Nothing to report that hasn't appeared elsewhere on the board, but I suppose a
summary of some various pearls of wisdom might save someone some trouble. Special
thanks to Zhuren for meeting me there earlier than planned, and making sure I didn't
stray and do something stupid earlier in the evening when I was thinking of
trying to land a quickie before going to Maggies. In approximate chronological
order:
1. If you haven't done this before, there is no substitute for hands-on experience,
particularly with a lot of "hands-on" activity. No matter how well-prepared I
thought I was, and with the benefit of Zhuren's Introductory Seminar, I still
made at least one mistake, and would do things differently next time.
2. Not all Mongolians have curves. My girl (Anna) had family ties to Korea,
though, so may be atypical. However, all the girls are happy to tell you where
they are from. Don't be shy, just ask.
3. Don't get suckered into a game of pool for any stakes (money or drinks)
unless you really know what you are doing. Some of these girls can play.
4. Mixed drinks at Maggies and at the few other bars I've been to taste like there
is no alcohol in them. Watered down? Beats the hell out of me. If you care, have
a beer.
5. At 10 PM, there were 3-5 guys and 20-30 Chinese, 1 Mongolian. Sunday night,
by the way.
6. By 11 PM, the Mongolians magically appeared, along with another dozen guys or so.
Things were in full swing at 11:30, with the ratio starting to be a little worrying.
So, keeping in mind the advice to "grab and go" without hesitation to avoid losing to
another guy, I jumped. I also didn't want to be out until 3 AM. In retrospect, on
a Sunday night, perhaps I jumped too soon.
7. If anyone helps you negotiate (perhaps because the girl's
English is really bad, or your Chinese is worse), be careful. You really want to be
absolutely clear before leaving Maggies what the deal is. ST? LT? LT until when?
Price? You might even want to communicate something along the lines of "look, I don't
want to waste my time or yours, so let's agree now so I don't have to send you packing
from the hotel with only 40 RMB for a taxi."
8. Everyone there seemed really friendly. Got a question about anything? Just ask.
It's not like they haven't seen or heard it before.
9. Plan ahead and figure out what you are going to say when she wants something from
the minibar. "Yes" is one possibility. The answer may vary depending on whether you
are ST (probably easier to say "No" without being a jerk) or LT.
10. Tipping the hotel doormen as you get in the cab to go to Maggies and then again
when you arrive back at the hotel after 11 PM with company will probably help
avoid any trouble at the hotel if you are concerned that it might be "semi-girl-friendly."
11. If you have no language skills, you might want to try to break your Maggie's
cherry with a girl who speaks a fair bit of English. Just a thought.
12. No matter how sweet and GFish she is in Maggies, when it comes to money later,
she's all business, an actress, psychologist, and you are hosed if you aren't ready.
Go back and read #7 and #11.
13. The lighting in Maggies hides makeup detail. Didn't matter in my case, I did
well, but in the light of day she went from model-hot to very attractive. I imagine
it could be worse, so pay attention.
Ok, to wrap up: Anna caught my eye early on, and there seemed to be some
chemistry. Unfortunately, her English was terrible and my Chinese is worse. I didn't
dance around waffling, I said, "You go with me?" "Ok." I dragged her over to the
bar for some translational assistance and to get advice on protocol. Zhuren gave
the appropriate warning that I should have heeded: "It's too early, it's gonna
cost you for LT." The reason, of course, is that she could do ST, be back by 2 AM or
something, and score again, so it needs to be an attractive proposition. However,
I didn't follow rule #7, above. My mistake, and then of course later the big head
is no match for the little head. So she did well by me.
Smoking firm body, small chest, big nipples. HOT. Snuggled in on the taxi, very GF.
No trouble at the hotel (see #10). Showered (nice!), round #1 (good), drinks (see
#9 above), round #2. Round #2 was either not interesting to her and she wanted to sleep,
or else she was really hurting. Finished quickly to avoid distressing her further.
I'm average, nothing to write home about. Slept until 9 AM. Chinese food not agreeing
with me, so I just got dressed and took her downstairs. Seemed like a sweet girl, a little
sad when leaving.
By the way, read the end of that last paragraph. That's the advantage of WG over
Freebie. Treat a WG well, and even if she's sad to go, she goes. I'll post later
re: other pursuits where this train of thought was relevant and the big head won.
Next time: ST, most likely not LT. I figure that if ST turns out great, you can
always negotiate up or cut it off if the terms aren't good. In general I've had
great LT experiences -- on a different continent. Might be a little rarer here.

Actually, I'm now confused as to whether she was a new arrival. At first, I thought she was here only two weeks. Thanks to Sammy T, BMOGE (Beijing Mongers On Google Earth) is off to a nice start. I have combined his placemarks into one file and added some comments.
Some places, such as Cafe Del Mar, Chun Xiu Lu, Lido Area KTV, Si Yi Sauna etc need some descriptions.
Here is what to do:
1.) Install Google Earth from http://earth.google.com/download-earth.html
2.) Create an account unless you already have one
3.) Open the enclosed Beijing.zip file, and unzip as Beijing_Mongers.KMZ
4.) You will see the places as yellow pushpins
5.) In the left "Places" window Beijing_Monger.kmz will show up under "Temporary Places"
6.) If you want to edit or update a comment, right click on the place name, select "Properties" and edit. If it's in the wrong place, now is the time to move the blinking placemarker.
Give the place a GREEN pushpin (icon to the right of "Name" field in properties) to mark that it has been edited.
7.) If you want to add a place (PLEASE,) select the pushpin icon in the top of the window, place the placemark in the right spot, name the place, add some comments, and save it with a BLUE pushpin to mark a new place. Please be careful and make doubly sure that the placemark is in the proper place. For instance, someone (not one of us) put the Outback Steakhouse right on the goal line of the Worker's Stadium ....
8.) Once done, go to "Beijing_Mongers.kmz," right click it and "Save as..." a new file. A good file format would be to add your handle, as in Beijing_Mongers_Zhuren.kmz"
9.) Post the file here. (You need to zip it, ISG doesn't akzept unadulterated KMZ files)
I'll try to organize the different edits and new places into one file, which will be then re-posted. But please, stick to the GREEN (edits) and BLUE (new placemark) format.
Extra credit for:
- Visit the place with a GPS and make sure of the exact coordinates,
- Take a picture of the place and add.
- Add the website (if it has one) of the place

So the girl on the elevator turned out to be an Expat (Malaysian) working in the hotel. I'd rate her a 9, seriously hot. Getting there: the subway (Wudaokou) is above street level. When you get to the street, there is a set of train tracks for a commuter train to the east. Cross the tracks and walk. Immediately on your left you will see a movie theater, so you will know you are headed in the right direction.
On the corner of Chengfu and Xueyuan there is a bookstore (southeast corner) and a big hotel, MengXu (northeast corner). Turn left going north up Xueyuan. I didn't see Beijing Language and Culture University, and when I asked for directions to that I was pointed the wrong way. Instead, I found the spa in the area of the Mining and Technology University, clearly marked with English, directly next to the pedestrian overpass as described by others.
Entrance fee depends on time of day. Peak is 128, off-peak (before 4 PM and possibly in the evening) is less, perhaps 88.
Take off your shoes in the foyer, put on the flipflops. You want to go to the basement, where you strip. Lots of male attendants, no women. Very nice facility, hot tubs (including one with little fish that will nibble you), sauna, steam room, and massage areas (which you probably don't want -- read on). Take a shower, try the hot tub, get a lay of the land.
When you are good and horny, say "anmoyuan". Now, if a beefy guy wearing a tanktop starts to look at you like a piece of meat, start gesturing 1, 2, 3, UP, with your fingers. You want them to take you upstairs to the 3rd floor where the girls are. You don't want to be in the basement massage area.
The rooms on the 3rd floor are very nice, extremely clean, with TV (channel 9 is in english). Tea may be offered, for 28 RMB. Don't get on the bed immediately, let the girl lay down the towels.
Girl was a solid 7 for me. Base price 268/45 minute Chinese massage, the second item on the price list. One of the male attendants did some sketching on paper before the girl walked in, indicating that 268 + 268 = HJ during the extended massage. And 268 + 268 + 268 had something to do with my ass, the girl's boobs, and the universal sign for fucking. Now I easily could have misunderstood, so don't hold me to that. I chose the 268 + 268 version given previous reports about no condoms and I didn't feel like an ass tickling.
Very good massage, happy ending, more tea, some attempts to talk. I think she tried to upsell me to FS at that point for round #2 but I knew I didn't have a condom, and unless I missed something in her little bag that was open, she didn't, either. I don't know if she might have gone out to be given one officially. Might try next time I return.
Also received the tour. Free buffet on 4th floor at lunch, dinner, and perhaps late night. Also have plush chairs for lounging, some with TVs. I imagine a nap would be very easy.
Finally, I hit the spa again, which left me completely exhausted.
Total damage: 128 + 268 + 268 and I think they didn't charge me for the tea. There didn't seem to be any charge for the colorful PJs, either, which you have to put on before going up to the 3rd or 4th floors.
On the way out, you might get the VIP salespitch. If you want to be a regular, they have a few deals that are worth looking at I think. Like bonus money (you get 6000 for your 5000) and free entrance tickets (I think), and 20% discount on services (again, I think). If I return I'll try to confirm this.
Summary: pretty impressive and enjoyable. Could spend hours there. Not for everyone, but again, a nice alternative when takeout is not possible.

I stayed at the same hotel a few months ago and I walked around the neighborhood but didn't find anything promising either. This was surprising to me, as the area is bustling at all hours of the day and seems to be a favorite shopping district for the local Beijing youth. Anyway, if you happen to know of any good BBS, massage or sauna type places in the area I would be most grateful to hear your recommendations. I know that Maggie's is also pretty close to where I'll be staying (at least according to the map), so that will be a possibility for me as well.

Your observations are correct. Your area is dead. You will have to go out of the area. There used to be some BBS near Qianamen to the west of you but there is no guarantee of what's left because of all the construction. There are some BBS near you but you have to go down side streets and the quality and type of service are questionable. You are right about Maggies see Zhuren's recent posting re Coogle earth postings Take out from those back to your Hotel is an option

You can also take a cab to the Guo Mao/Soho area where there are lots of upscale massage places. Look in That's Beijing for details.
Re saunas "the Saunas in Maijiabao RD is relatively short cab ride to the west of you which should be even faster in the evening and Chunxiulu Sauna is to the north east of you and again in short cab range.
I don't know if your hotel is "girl friendly "or not .Zhuren's post says the Marriott west is but no mention of Chongwen. There are some good maps and write ups there as well.

- Taxis are dirt cheap. Hard to spend more than 20 RMB for a ride. 2 Euro!

There were a few requests looking for budget 3-star hotels in Beijing. Though I haven't been to Beijing, I managed to do some research online and I figure I'll share my results. I am planning to go to Beijing in September, stay at a hotel for a week and then look for an apartment.

While I am not an expert on the freebie scene, please feel free to contact me after your arrival on September 5 and I will be happy to show you the pay-for-play ropes. If you are here long term you may find that it is easier and actually cheaper.
I have several friends who hit the normal bars and pick up Chinese girls. They have a great time, but at the end of the day they often find they cannot get rid of the girls. You have the best of both worlds in the eyes of a local girl - Chinese heritage, and a Canadian passport (coupled with a western sized bank account). I am sure all would agree that the best way to learn Chinese is to live with a native speaker for a few months. This will of course spoil you, and you will never look at another western woman again :)

I prefer to be within walking distance to the action since it is easier and quicker to have multiple STs. It saves time. Going back to one of the questions I asked in this thread - "does anyone know whether Ritan Hotel by Hollywood is GF?".

It was actually very easy for me to get in: I just said I am from Taiwan and showed my entry permit (as PRC does not honor Republic of China passport, we have a special type of passport-like entry permit for Taiwan travelers), and the guards just responded: "You are from Taiwan, so you are also a Chinese. Please come in." :) Then I was told by the Maggie's Chinese girls that only the mainland Chinese people cannot come in for security reasons, and Taiwan / Hong Kong / Macau Chinese have no problems, and they have most Chinese customers from Taiwan, which I haven't met one yet. Last night was my 2nd time of visiting the Maggies. The 1st time was June 2005 (the Old Maggies.)
May I ask if you or anyone else will come to the Maggies on 20th (tonight)? I did run into some problems with two Mongolian girls (yes I took out w/ two) that they broke the prior agreed upon LT deal to get home much earlier. While I did pay them less (was 1000 RMB for both LT, then I paid 500 RMB, which was still too much I thought, but I wanted a quick resolution w/o troubles), I would like to have some explanations behind this because the two girls could not explain in English nor Chinese at that time.

So, NBG pays his dues by introducing two newbies to Maggies, Taiwan Guy and a lurker. The lurker was/is here for the week only, definitely suffering from jetlag. When I left Taiwan Guy (about 1:30 AM) he was deep into conversation/negotiation with a Mongolian, having met the management and tossed back a few drinks. I hope he reports in. I have their contact info and we may have a growing group later this week for Sammy T's 22nd.
Arrived at 10 PM. Shot some pool, and quickly hooked up with the hottest little Chinese girl in the place for a partner. Completely my type. I think her name is Ai. So after a few hours on and off the table, I had bought her a few drinks and gave her a tip because she spent so much time with me. She wasn't pretending she would go anywhere with me, it was a pretty straight conversation. I knew the game (thanks to you all) and she knew I knew the game and was happy to play along.
So then the newbies were pushing me to get in gear and show them how to get down to business. So I see this totally hot Mongolian walk buy, and <snap> I almost get whiplash! After a few minor distractions (the lurker leaving to crash and Taiwan Guy growing a serious set of cohones), I grabbed her and headed out. To make a long story short, ST was less than 1/2 the price of last week's adventure, and I got my bed to myself when she decided to leave (though I gave her the option of staying). Perfect (probably) for both of us. I gave it the old college try, and she was definitely wet. Enough said.
Final note. St Regis is girl-friendly. And, if you don't know, it's very close to Maggies, although I didn't walk. I was strolling around the hotel after dinner, and I see two girls in short skirts get out of a taxi. I start walking after them, and they head towards the hotel side door. They see me, and immediately ask me if I want a massage? It wasn't what I was after, but I took their cell number if anyone wants it, PM me. I'd put them around 7s. Didn't ask the price (sorry, I should have but didn't want them to start giving me the hard sell that I would decline anyway). A little later, they were sitting at a table right in the lobby, and 30 minutes later they were gone.

My Chinese Valentine's Day experiences didn't come with a happy ending, unfortunately, but here is a lengthy report for your reading pleasure.
It was my 2nd visit to the Maggies. The 1st one was June 2005, so it was the old Maggies. I went with my then boss, who is a Norwegian. At that time there were full of older WGs, so I left my boss (who's having fun) there. I was told neither of them took any girls out. Sometime later my ex-boss told me he also had a few freebies there (he's a large guy, but somehow many non-WG female said he's cute. I will never understand why.)

You are also a Chinese!"
NBG is a handsome guy, and I bet many girls will like him, and the another forum lurker speaks and jokes in perfect Chinese (his Chinese is far better than most Mongolian girls, and yes, even better than mine Taiwan-style Chinese.
Actually when NGB locked his target in and ready to go, I was still looking for my target. I bought some drinks for the Chinese manager lady (NGB told me she's managing the Mongolian girls, but the girls I took out seem like they don’t know her at all), so she was helping to introduce girls to me. I talked with a first few girls introduced, but didn't really like anyone of them When NBG is leaving, I wasn't "negotiating" but just "chatting" with a Mongolian girl who can speak better Chinese. The manager lady told me the girl was thirsty. I was too kind to buy the girl a drink, even though I didn't like her. I did this to let the manager "have face", so she can continue to introduce more girls.
I admit I am a picky guy (not necessary meant my selections were always better though.)

I called Ogii's cellular phone. She told me she's going to the Den. The Den is also one of my ex-boss favorite bars. My 1st time to the Den, all the waitress was hailing excitedly "(my ex-boss's name), long time no see!" Ogii, Zavy and another older Mongolian girl were there sitting in one table. We ordered some cokes (20RMB x 4 = 80, more cost than the food! I made another mistake to order that!) And some American type food (the food was tasty, probably because I was hungry.) We chatted there for some time. I was watching Zavy's large boobs and Ogii's lovely smile (she didn't put bras so I can see her smaller boobs), then my small head told me to take both out for the best of the both worlds. But for the lack of hotel room problem? My small head was stupid enough to risk to take them to my rented not-fancy-at-all apartment.
Then it was close to 6AM-ish. We started to negotiate the rate. In the Maggies Ogii once told me her rate is 600RMB for one hour, but she didn't have a rate for LT. Then I was asking how much she was asking for both, and then Ogii said "it's up to you." I almost wanted to say "free?" :D So the bargaining started from 500RMB for both, gradually up to 1000RMB for both and for staying until noon (around 6 hours.) They agreed.
So I took them to my apartment, on the taxi ride, the girls said they also used to rent in the same community (the building next to mine) a few months ago!
Here is the not-happy-ending part: when I was making love with Ogii and sucking Zavy's big breasts at the same time for some while (prior to my cum), I thought it's time to let Zavy to have more actions on me, so I told Zavy that it's her turn to make love with me. It was 7-to-8AM-ish. Suddenly, Zavy jumped up and said she wanted to leave now! I asked them why, but none of them was able to tell me why! I decided to go to the Maggies today to look for the manager to do the translation for the explanation. So I went to the Maggie again today, and met the manager and Zavy (didn't see Ogii, even I called her prior to my departure and she said she's there.) Then the manager translated that Zavy said I was paying too less, so they wanted to leave. I told the manager that they could just tell me that directly (I don't think it's language barrier anymore) at that time, and they could just say no before I took them out. I thought they agreed my 1000RMB for both girls LT offering, or they would not go with me, so it didn't sound right if they thought my offering was not enough but still went home with me? Comparing to what happened that morning, when I was asking them why broken our agreed upon deal, Zavy danced around saying she didn't like my place, etc. And at the time when they were leaving my apartment, Ogii gave me a hug and kiss, and Zavy's facial expression was not too happy. So it may be something went wrong with Zavy? Perhaps Zhuren or Sammy_T could help me to find out the true root cause on Wed, if both the two girls and the manager are around.
I didn't take out any girls at the Maggies today; in fact I just took a look around after the manager "translated" what Zavy said. I thought it's better to save my money for Wed actions. I did went to Banana once again, and there were so many people today. One girl was asking me whether I wanted to play with her together, but she just wanted 300RMB for tipping without going out with me. I could not identify other WGs, so I would need more suggestions from you guys (perhaps we can talk about it on Wed.)

I am the "lurker" alluded to in NBG's and Taiwan Guy's posts about Maggies last Sunday, and I'm here to report on an excellent Maggies experience I had on Monday night, which would not have been possible had it not been for all the valuable information on this forum that I've been reading for the past month or so. Let my (until now) lurker status be a testament to the effectiveness of RTFF, which is really all I needed to do. Many thanks to everyone who has contributed (and to NBG and Taiwan Guy in particular for introducing me to Maggies on Sunday), and here is my humble addition:
I got to Maggies around 11 on Monday night, got a beer from the bar, and hung out near the pool table on my own, trying to scope out the situation but a bit nervous about approaching someone since I'm still new at this. Eventually, a fairly hot girl came up to me and started flirting with me. In my naivete, I was pretty sure she was a WG, because I didn't think bar girls were as physically forward as she was with me without any kind of provocation on my part. In hindsight, though, I should have known she was a bar girl because (a) her Chinese was perfect and (b) she insisted on me buying her a drink rather than leaving with me right then and there. I kept asking her where she was from and she never gave me a straight answer; she joked about being from another planet.

This is just a guess, but maybe it was Zavy's time of the month. I have seen this happen often when girls agree to go in pairs - one will let you have sex with them, but the other one will only let you "play" with them. Their goal is to get you to have sex with the first girl, with the hope that you will be too tired to do it with the 2nd girl. When you said you wanted to have sex with Zavy she did not want to reveal her situation because you certainly would have wanted to pay her less anyway.

To follow-up on MAB's post -
The working girls entering Maggie’s (Mongolian, Chinese, and Russian) must pay a door fee if they come in by themselves. They make the payment at the hot dog stand. The fee is around 30 RMB, and gets them 1 drink. This policy was started when they moved to the new location at the south gate of Ritan park because the owner got tired of all the girls coming in and not buying any drinks. Typically if the girl comes in with a guy she does not have to pay because she is bringing business to the bar.
A Chinese working girl in Maggie’s is rare, but possible. It seems all the Chinese working girls know about Maggie’s. I have taken Chinese girls from the Pig, Hard Rock, and KTV with me to Maggie’s before. They probably cannot get past the front door on their own, but if they are with a westerner it is no problem. At that point I typically tell them they are free to work (while I look for a Mongolian) so you never know what you might find.
The Chinese girls working for Maggie’s are not available for take-out, but they will flirt, drink, and dance with you. They get a very small base salary, and do not get a cut of the drinks they sell, BUT in order for them to keep their job they must sell a certain number of drinks each month. If they do not meet their drink quota then they are out. When I buy a bar girl a drink I often take it from them and smell it to see if there truly is alcohol in it. I'm not going to by a high priced juice for them! If you buy a bottle of liquor or champagne this counts as several drinks towards their quota.
The Chinese bar girls are always a good source of information regarding which working girls are good/bad. Just be sure and take care of them as well by buying her drinks and giving her a tip. I consider myself generous, but never tip these girls more than a couple hundred RMB.
One time I caught a Mongolian girl stealing cash from me. She gave me a real "so what are you going to do about it" attitude. I went to Maggie's the next night, pointed her out to security, and she was never allowed back in. Maggie's knows that in order for them to continue to be successful they must first keep their customer basis happy.
There is a bar manager who makes sure everything run smoothly over all, a security manager, and then a manager for the girls. She is by no means a mama san, but just there to make sure the girls that work directly for the bar are out pushing drinks, ect.

Right on on all counts, including the drink coupon. I did not count that drink coupon as an entry fee. Actually, it's a discounted drink coupon.

The working girls entering Maggie’s (Mongolian, Chinese, and Russian) must pay a door fee if they come in by themselves. They make the payment at the hot dog stand. The fee is around 30 RMB, and gets them 1 drink. This policy was started when they moved to the new location at the south gate of Ritan park because the owner got tired of all the girls coming in and not buying any drinks. Typically if the girl comes in with a guy she does not have to pay because she is bringing business to the bar.
A Chinese working girl in Maggie’s is rare, but possible. It seems all the Chinese working girls know about Maggie’s. I have taken Chinese girls from the Pig, Hard Rock, and KTV with me to Maggie’s before. They probably cannot get past the front door on their own, but if they are with a westerner it is no problem. At that point I typically tell them they are free to work (while I look for a Mongolian) so you never know what you might find.
The Chinese girls working for Maggie’s are not available for take-out, but they will flirt, drink, and dance with you. They get a very small base salary, and do not get a cut of the drinks they sell, BUT in order for them to keep their job they must sell a certain number of drinks each month. If they do not meet their drink quota then they are out. When I buy a bar girl a drink I often take it from them and smell it to see if there truly is alcohol in it. I'm not going to by a high priced juice for them! If you buy a bottle of liquor or champagne this counts as several drinks towards their quota.
The Chinese bar girls are always a good source of information regarding which working girls are good/bad. Just be sure and take care of them as well by buying her drinks and giving her a tip. I consider myself generous, but never tip these girls more than a couple hundred RMB.
One time I caught a Mongolian girl stealing cash from me. She gave me a real "so what are you going to do about it" attitude. I went to Maggie's the next night, pointed her out to security, and she was never allowed back in. Maggie's knows that in order for them to continue to be successful they must first keep their customer basis happy.
There is a bar manager who makes sure everything run smoothly over all, a security manager, and then a manager for the girls. She is by no means a mama san, but just there to make sure the girls that work directly for the bar are out pushing drinks, ect.
