So I am thinking some effective ways to do mongering w/o getting caught. If people read my earlier post in the Sep you will know I was trying to make my wife stay in Taiwan, but a bro posted on the "China Women - Opinions and Advise" forum to advise me just to wait patiently, then my wife will feel BJ is bored (again) soon and she will go back to Taiwan on her own.

My wife loves BJ for me, which is good, but the bad is she also likes to smell my dick once for a while when I got back home, especially if I told her I had a dinner with customers, etc. I prepared a small bottle with the same shower gels of my home and locked the bottle in my office drawer, so I could use that gels to wash out the smell and hope my wife will not find out (as the shower gel is the same one as the home), but I am also afraid my wife would find the shower gel smell was too fresh (as I always shower in the morning before I go to work.) So I have never tried that out.

As I am not a smoker, one bro advised me to go to the bars to make myself smell like cigarette smoke than anything else, and tell my wife that the guys I was with were smoking all night long, and I hate the smell so I want to take a shower before going to bed. However I am not sure if going to the bars can also cover up my dick smell inside the pants, and what if my wife was still asking to smell my dick before I take shower (just planning for the worst case scenario)?

Despite of all the „technical stuff“ Zhuren already wrote, I’d like to add the, from my opinion, most dangerous situation you can get caught is much more simple:

Imagine you and your wife driving along the highway or sitting in the restaurant or watching TV in the evening, talking some chit chat and out of the blue she looks at your eyes and asks: ”Are you cheating on me?” Your behaviour in the next 0,5 seconds will decide between win or loose. If you can’t control your body language (e.g. you look puzzled and caught, turn your eyes away from her, start thinking desperately what to say) you’re lost. Most women have a kind of sixth sense for such stuff.

When this happened to me, without the slightest moment of hesitation I directly went offensive, looking her straight in the eye, asking her how the heck she got this idea. Telling her if she does not get rid of her jealousy we should think about separation, that it will not work with me being away from her that often and long if she does not trust me and so on. (She is kind of a jealous type) Of course this will only work if she does not have evidence. For me it worked out quite well, but women are different. But nevertheless it might be a good idea to think about this situation before it comes up.

Taiwan Guy, if you’re wife is so interested in your dick one thing you should also take into account. What are you going to do if by chance a condom breaks or slips off. Amen to that. My wife and I have a similar understanding. Obviously we don't talk about it but she knows I occasionally indulge in a little P4P. If you cannot make her feel confident, then you will walking on pins and needles everytime you go and have a little fun. That usually kills the mood after you have finished and you start worrying about how you will conceal it from your wife. Making up your story, washing this and that, etc.

If you walk into the door with a guilty heart your wife WILL FEEL IT. I have been married over 10 years and my wife can read me like a book. If I look at her sheepishly after coming home from fucking some hot 19 year old, she will know. But since she is absolutely sure about my feelings for her, she is able to accept it and we don't have to talk about it.

RTFF and it is hard to go wrong in terms of where to go and what to look for – great source, thanks, especially Sammy T’s guide to Beijing. But I made loads of mistakes and got loads wrong. When I read BBB reports, not sure how. A frustrating night. Hopefully someone can learn from them.

Tidied up my work stuff for the day, grabbed dinner and headed out. First stop. Hard Rock. This is at the Landmark Hotel out on the Third Ring Road. If the taxi driver drops you in front of the hotel you need to walk round onto the ring road at the front of the building. Arrived around midnight, 100RMB entrance fee (includes free drinks voucher). Band was playing (they’re not bad so it makes an OK place to just hang out for a while). The place was pretty empty. People clustered round the bar, a couple on the stairs, at the tables. Not exactly heaving. Got a beer, was ‘smiled at’ by a couple of the girls hanging around and went up the stairs. Couple of guys chatting and a couple of taller (relatively) and better looking Chinese girls at the top. Nice view, not much going on. Not the place to be. There were still more than enough (to my mind) attractive Chinese girls around chatting to people and each other but it wasn’t as ‘full on’ as I had expected. Went and hung by the bar. Few girls walk past but they either didn’t seem interested (the attractive ones) or I wasn’t in them (the less attractive ones! ) Felt a bit like college dataing. And then a girl comes up and stands next to me "How are you? " OK, so here we go we. Medium height, not Chinese slim but nice smile and well dressed – not tarty, nor over casual. Like a girl out with her mates on a Friday night. Nice approach. Very good English. I suggest a drink but she wants to pay and motions to go and sit down. "How long in Beijing? , What doing? How long in China? " etc etc. Usual questions. More enthusiastic and involved when I speak a bit of Chinese. Now, being ‘early’ I didn’t want to look overly keen and had wanted to head to Maggies as well. But conversation moves on – real chat, not just sixty questions about nothing. Then asks me where I am staying. "You want me to come with you? " Maybe I tell her.

"1, 500RMB". I pulled a face. RTFF says 800 ST (HRC Premium). After a bit of friendly discussion she offers 1000RMB all night. Says other girls at HRC would charge 2000 or 1500 for the night. Hmmm. Not sure how true this is. In hindsight, 1000RMBRMB LT was a good deal. Tell her I was thinking of moving on. "You don’t want to go to Maggies, full of Mongolians, not good. " The forum seems to beg to differ.

Anyway, she says I need to pay for her drink. Whooaaa. WTF? So I had seen her use her HRC voucher but didn’t expect that. 100RMB. Err no way. OK, 50RMB. This threw me somewhat. Didn’t expect this and sets questions in my mind about what may happen later. She then says, you pay my drink, only pay me 900RMB later. Not sure if this is some kind of get the punters thing and left me a bit wary. She said that they have to pay to come in (I know) etc etc. And then comes the crunch. If I want to go to Maggies she can come but then if I decide I don’t want her I must pay her 500RMB. Was mulling this over – she’s been upfront but decide no. She plants a kiss on my lips as a attempt to get me to stay, exchange numbers and leave and tell her to stay at the HRC. Gave her 50 for her drink which we both were OK with. I figured that if I need to bump into her later in the evening it might be a good investment. Leave HRC. Mistake of the evening number 1.

Taxis to Maggies are a flat 40RMB charge. Negotiated to 30RMB which the second driver is happy with. Maggies is heaving. Pushing 1. 30am there are loads of girls which range from the "wouldn’t give a second glance to" all the way to a couple at the "absolutely drop dead gorgeous", many chatting with blokes and loads of blokes, several of which were pretty obnoxiously drunk. I never thought I would see girls quite so readily throw of someone’s advances. This is not pleasant but persevere and get a beer and go for a wander round.

Again, not as ‘full on’ as I had expected. Neither walking around or just standing near the dance floor or bar etc prompts any girl to come and chat or even look like they want to. Going to need a different approach. Find a girl and go for it. Michelle (beyond pool table and dance floor) but a brief introductory conversation just doesn’t seem to produce any interest. I’m the one who is going to pay here, not her so it would be nice to have just a little effort from her. Hell, it was like being back out on the pull were you go and chat to one of the attractive girls in the bar. Move on.

Walk round some more and get smiled at by an ABSOLUTELY STUNNING girl. Slim, about 5’8" in heels, dressed in a turquoise two piece. Every bloke going passed her has stopped and chatted. Stand and chat. I forget her name but there is only one girl in the place like her so regulars are likely to know. She wants 1600 for the rest of the night and isn’t budging. It’s 2am and seems to be way over the top. And I’d had a not unattractive Chinese girl offer 1000 only and hour or so before. All smiles, move on. Mistake of the evening number 2.

Thinking back to advice given I search out one of the Chinese girls. See one sitting on a sofa by the pool table. She looks a little down – an excuse to chat. She turns out to be a really great girl. Chats about all kinds of stuff, asks loads of questions and answers mine. If you do settle with one of the bar girls it’s worth making it clear that you know they probably won’t go with you and work there. So when I offer her a drink (because I want one and want to buy her one anyway) she tells me exactly how much it will cost. She even gets me to try it to prove it isn’t just juice.

Chatted for about 1 ½ hours in all. By 3. 30 I was flagging, so I asked her about picking someone up. "You want Chinese or Mongolian? Good looking or good fun? " We go for a wander round. The ‘attractive’ girl past and grins at me as if to say "You’re mad" although don’t know if it because I has hand in hand with a drinking girl or because I had turned her down. No one is doing it for me except the Chinese drinking girls (! ), so my drinking friend goes off and finds a tall Chinese girl from near the pool table. She’s OK but it is a case of "1000, you want to go? " Wham bam. Not going to work. Say no and decide to leave. Mistake of the evening number 3.

The night is about to go truly downhill.

Apologies, I'll probably get flamed for a long and tedious report but need to get it out of my system having RTFF and it all gone horribly wrong. .

Didn’t seem to be able to get Beijing to ‘work. Decided to leave Maggies but the girls at the bar by the entrance caught my attention. Three or four pretty attractive Mongolians. One smiled. Explain, again slowly, that as she is not staying and her period has started (that I remain convinced of) that she cannot demand 1000 but can have ST pay. I even ask her what she wants for ‘ST’. Once more I ask her to leave. This time, comes a double slap across the arm. This is too much. Paying for a bad experience is one thing. Paying to be slapped about is something completely different and I just want out. Ironic as had she not hit me, just to get it all over with I was about to give her the 1000 but the third slap was too much. I go for the door and get it open holding it for her. She just stands there and I motion her to go. Doesn’t budge, "Just go". At this point she pushes me backwards, banging the wardrobe (OK, wake up the hotel, I guess she wouldn’t care) and goes out through the door a couple of feet. It’s quickly closed. And bolted. I was expecting a din of banging but it doesn’t come and I see her stand t the end of the corridor, stamp her feet and go.

This left me feeling pretty shaken. Not what I expected. It was now well past 5am and I lay awake for a long while. Dozed eventually and left the hotel at 10. 30. At least the sky was blue. Something went right. But not a fun experience all in all. Kicking myself for not leaving the HRC at 1am with the Chinese girl or just going for the 1600 Mongolian – but it felt so against market rates, and I refuse to play the gullible laowei so I didn’t and stood fast on the demands for full payment. Guess I probably won’t be welcome in Maggies for a while (assume girls talk, stories develop) but not sure when back in BJ anyway. Certainly will try and go along with someone else next time. Going by myself. Mistake number 5.

Still, the drinking girl sent me a text that evening.

Arrived at noon in Beijing, tired after a 8h flight in an A430.
On the way, i recognize terribly hazy air, grey daylight, visibility less than 1,000m, which is not ordinary.
Take taxi to Lido hotel, but it is too early and room is not finished yet. Well, get a free drink as compensation.
Check in,shower and take a short nap.

Go out at 4pm, get some cash money from ATM, buy my winterclothes, 400RMB for a 'genuine' XL Northface Jacket, and head towards the office.

Meet my friends there, and off we go to Korean Hot Bath at the Grand Dynasty Hotel Beijing. Just the right thing after a long-distance flight...

This Spa has 4 floors, 1 with hot and cold baths, sauna and showers.
2nd floor a restaurant,3 floor a public dormitory, 4th floor the single rooms for massage.

Spend 3 h in the water, shave and relax, and have dinner.
Then go upstairs and ask for massage. 200 RMB. Girls arrives,speaks Chinese ad i dont, but we can negotiate. 200 for HJ, and an other 200 for takeing off her clothes.

Lately, I am not sure there is a "standard fare" at Maggies anymore. I hear some guys brag about only paying 400 RMB LT while others pay 2,000 RMB ST. I usually pay 600-800 ST and 800-1,000 LT. Is this the going rate? Some of the girls are asking for ridiculous prices which leads me to believe that there are some swinging dicks with deep pockets out there paying these prices and couldn't give a shit about the rest of us.

Anyway, I reckon you did the right thing. Given the circumstances, she only deserved a ST rate, if that. She knew that she was close to her period and was trying to stretch it. I might have asked her for a BBBJCIM in order to pop and get some value out of an already bad deal. You were too nice about that. These girls pull this shit because they can get away with it. Most punters just give in and pay to avoid confrontation.

One strategy that works for me is to negotiate two rates in advance; ST & LT. This leaves the option up to me after the first pop. If the service is really good, I keep them, if not, I send them on their way with ST money. But, even this strategy is not foolproof. They still try to use excuses to get more money sometimes and put me in the same situation as you found yourself, refusing to leave. I always stay firm and show them the door.

My 2 RMB: Those who brag paying 400 LT at Maggies are braggards.

I've been in Beijing for more than 3 years, and since then, the rack rate had been 800 RMB, which at the time was 100 $. Lately, the rack rate has inched up to 1000 RMB, which is 100 Euro. The $ isn't as popular anymore since it lost value. If anyone gets it for 400 RMB, then I want names and phone numbers.

LT or ST depends on your negotiations skills, the day of the week, the time of the night.

If you pick her up at 11 and if you're done at 12, she has a big incentive to head back and find another one - you need to make it worth her while to stay.

Pick her up at 2 or 3, and LT will be pretty much included, especially when she's been in the sauce.

There is a new breed of "Super Talent" that shows up on Fridays and Saturdays only, usually at 11, and is picked up and away fast. They demand (and fetch) higher prices.

As for taxi money, I've never paid it.

Personally, I'd rather pay 200 RMB more for unhurried, nice service. I don't want to spend my time haggling. Actually, being a regular at Maggies, I never even discuss money. They know me, I know the rates, and they get what they are worth.

Now SH's "slapping" reports are a bit alarming. In my book, it should NEVER, EVER get to that, from either side. If she really resorted to hitting without provocation, then this is a reportable offense.

Reported by a regular guest, this would end her career immediately.

However, if she didn't have prior complaints, it could brand a newbie as a troublemaker. And suddenly, Maggies will turn into a membership club that just ran out of application forms ...

Bottom line: This is a business transaction. Pricing of business transactions is driven by supply and demand. IMHO, the appeals to hold out and to not ruin the market for everybody are as effective as appeals to boycott gas stations to protest against high prices. Publicly, everybody will be for it. Privately, they'll pay the going price to fill their tank - or to empty it, as the case may be here.

To add another 2 RMB: I Totally agree with Zhuren, 400RMB LT (or even ST) never ever happened (to me, occasional visitor since 2003, half regular since 2005). Also 100% agree on negotiation skills / being regular or one time visitor.

But regarding the prices that were quoted to WSG, this may have something to do with Maggies being very busy at the moment. Besides the talents, lot’s of new inexperienced guys there, obviously with deep pockets, who either don’t know the going rates or don’t care.

So if you put yourself in the position of a girl there and your friend told you last night she went with a stupid dumbass who paid 2000RMB for one pop and goodbye the next morning, how would you behave? You would also give it a try, won’t you.

So it might be difficult at the moment to get the normal going rates if you are not known to the girls.

If you are in Beijing right now best bet would be to PM one of the real Beijing regulars, or should I say gods (e.g. Zhuren, a great friendly guy who can help you in a lot of aspects and did not even allow me to pay my debts in drinks) and kindly ask if you are allowed to hook up with them on Friday. I myself would really like to join, but unfortunately I am about 8000km away from Beijing right now. Still have to wait three or four weeks before going back home*.

I envy you guys for the 9th and I am sure you will have a great time.

1. My primary concern is security. Considering 2008 Olympic is just over 6 months away, I assume Chinese authority has really stepped up security in Beijing. I assume you are refering to "Wangjing" and no, not all of them do. When you go in be specific and ask if they provide special service "te bie fu wu" OR "te fu" for short. The MP in building 417, 414 and 411 all offer them. Just be ready, the facilities can be downright Spartan, but are generally clean.

Actually there is a Wenjin International Hotel by the south gate of Qinghua University, that might be what he's referring to. I'm certain they don't offer FS. True. After a lull in the beginning of the year, when I had neraly written off M's, St. Margret's has come back with a roar. New, pretty bargirls. New fresh talent from the steppes. I've lived in Beijing for more than 3 years. My expenditures at Maggies helped financing the move from the Worker's Stadium to Ritan Park. And when the rebuild at Maggie's is completed, I expect a plaque that thanks me for my contributions.

Having said that, the ASK a Maggie's has been 800 when I came here, and it hasn't changed much. It trends higher like everything in China, and especially Beijing - but as officially as anything can be in this country, the ASK is still 800.

Also, ever since I've been here, QUALITY CHINESE talent wrinkled their pretty noses at Mongolian pricing, and they were proud to demand at least double.

Disclaimer: I'm talking presentable talent that gets you envious stares when you enter your hotel or apartment building, as opposed to sneers or rolling eyes. I've never been in a BBS. If I want cheap, then I prefer to close my eyes and take the matter in my own hands.

Getting back to the Mongolian maidens, I'd also like to underscore the previously posted warnings about driving too hard a bargaign: Bad service, trouble back at the hotel etc., upselling, demands for "taxi money" (or raids of the mini-bar which will set you back a multiple of what you just "saved") are much more likely after you have bargaigned too hard, than after you have agreed to the usual. I personally never have encountered bad service. intransit raises some very important points:

- culture. unless you are, as intransit puts it, of the "if i want an intelligent conversation, that's what i have male friends for" mindset, you want an intelligent conversation with your wife/ltgf. be careful whether she can give that to you, be very careful. you can be from opposite sides of the planet, or even from different ones, but you need something in common.

I had a friend down in Thailand. He took a WG out of business and set her up. I knew/know both of them very well. She would have been the most caring, loving and faithful wife I've ever met.

Why?

It was not, because he couldn't take the bar out of her, it was because he couldn't stay out of the bars himself, and she wouldn't tolerate that.

So, I have two suggestions for anybody who intends to take a WG out of business. The first is not to hesitate, the second is to look first at himself, whether he actually has the stamina and commitment to do so. Because, after all said, it is deffinitely not an easy job.

So, chances are that we keep things as they are: I call her whenever I am in Beijing - we spent a beautiful week-end together, also outside the bed - and I continue to pay her for every night, that she is with me, since this is how she makes her living. And I pay her above-normal rates for giving me something completely out of the normal. Beijing Fox and Zhuren are absolutely right: it would be shame and even a crime to play with their hopes and dreams, since they are fate is already unfortunate enough. She is thinking about leaving Maggie every day ... and is still not sure, whether she will really quit end of next year, as she had originally planned.

Before I am accused of anything, I went to Maggies twice in the last week. Don't get me wrong it's a great place with a great vibe, I love the music and the veritable feast of eye candy.

My personal experience. Trying to bring some variety to this thread.

First time, went with Caucasian friend. Girl approaches him faster then a fly to shit. Me nothin. That's why I don't normally go to bars to satisfy my derelict ways. He has finalised negotiations before I can finish my second beer and I take them back to his hotel. Bitter and lonely thinking dammit that's why I don't normally go to these places. Couldn't have been more than about 30 minutes all up. The bar girl was nice though.

Second experience, other Caucasian friend. Take him to hard rock first. Slim pickins indeed but at least I got some attention from a fairly attractive Hunan girl. More Asian guys there and live band was great but asking 2000 for ST and friend looking neglected so we pass. I suggest Maggies (more bar hunting) or massage (sure thing). ** I am hoping he picks massage but he's an OT regular in Singapore and he likes the thrill of the hunt. ** We get to Maggies after midnight and soon enough are approached by 2 Chinese girls. OK this is nice. At least I am not alone. We go through quite a few rounds of drinks, play some games, chat, grope etc etc. Ok time for business. How much for take out? He's tired and disappointed but not enough to do anything about it so I take him back to the hotel, it being almost 3am. Me, I ring my massage place and order in. Nothing like a SURE THING.

I can at least go to sleep thoroughly drained and less annoyed about not getting take out.

Hollywood: A ”rip off”, mostly old ugly Russian girls. I have been to Russia a lot but never seen girls like that in Russia. These are probably girls who are not able to get similar jobs in Russia. The place was extremely dirty, even worse than in some African countries. The entrance fee was 40 and you even have to pay to go to toilet!! Not a good option at all .

Hard Rock Café: Visit the place several times. Nice atmosphere and food, typical “American” style. It was very few ladies, mostly in the 30’s at this place. There where some street walkers in the area around, actually some 8-9 which I choose of course.

The Pig at Holiday Inn was quite OK with some charming girls. Many of them seems to have a GFE potential but the selection was not huge . But in total a good option 

One Bar just a few meters from Hilton was really charming with some really great girls, but only talking. If you look for a long term relationship you should go to this place. 

I also visit the bar at Hilton but it was only ugly girls in the 30’ – 40’s. If you enjoy the girls in this bar you are either to drunk or to old .

As always Maggie’s was the winner. There was a lot of girls and action. Some of them quite nice and many of them has a potential as a GFE. 

The embassy doesn't give him any clues about the outcome of a visa application.

I've experienced myself that it is virtually impossible to bring a Thai girl into Japan, even if you guarantee for and sponsor her, etc.

Due to marriage & "no visa needed" passport, I have no problems. I heard JP visas are hard (but not impossible) to obtain for Chinese. Harder for those who don't live & work in Beijing or Shanghai. No info on Mongolians, but I believe it will be hard - unless you are a Mongolian sumo wrestler.

Yes, the rule is Maggie's Chinese bar girls will NOT go out with customers. Of course there might be a few exceptions, but I guess these cases were after their working hours at Maggie's (daytime, etc.) and perhaps these were not pay-for-play but freebie stuffs...just my speculations though.

One Bar , actually "Bar One" is part of the Maggie's imperium. It used to be called Maggie's 2. In the olden days, it was nice, new girls were sent there to learn. A while ago, they changed to the "just talking" format, and it's not working, Recently, they expanded the place (same Japanese interior architect who did and is re-doing M's,) put a Viennese restaurant (the partner was a Chef for Austrian Airlines, and the Chef is a nice lady from Salzburg --- if you yearn for that kind of food, Salzburger Nockerln, Kaiserschmarrn, go - it's genuine ..) into the upstairs and a cafe downstairs. Bar One is still there. Fom what I hear, the traffic at the Austrian eatery ain't that great - what would one expect from a location across from the Korean Embassy.

Maggies has been and will be the best and safest place in town.

Two items to comment:

1.) Your last sentence hits it on the head.
2.) RTFF. ANYBODY who reads this thread knows: At Maggie's, Chinese girls are for the drinking (and they deserve a tip for their time, because they don't get a cut from the drinks) - Mongolian girls are for the taking and shagging. (They appreciate a free drink, but don't insist.)

If you don't know the difference between Mongolian and Chinese: Ask. "Are you a working girl or a drinking girl?"

If you are afraid to ask: Bargirls are always at or behind the bar. Mongolian girls are lined up against the wall, play pool, or lounge in the lounge areas. You will find Mongolian girls at the bar sometimes. You'll never find a Chinese girl standing at the wall. Mongolian girls usually have tits. Chinese usually have bras with heavy padding.

Trust me, the house rules concerning bar girls are hard & fast. They are not making it up. At Maggie's you won't hear the usual "if we get to know each other better - maybe over a few bottles of champagne - in a few days - maybe." You'll hear "No." or "Bu dui." (At Bar One, the "if we get to know each other" BS is prevalent.)

I know most of the Maggie's crew, and I never had a bargirl in bed. Partly because I observe their rules, mostly because it's impossible. You will hear occasional reports of Chinese bargirls breaking those rules. Those want a permanent BF, and they don't care that they will be fired if found out.

One of the reasons why Maggie's is the safest place in BJ is because of these rules: Mainland Chinese are not admitted, Mainland Chinese personnel does not engage in illicit activities. No Chinese engaged in anything objectionable. What's between foreigners from the steppes and longnoses from Europe or America, nobody cares.

No need to create a separate "Maggie's" thread. Maggie's is a BJ institution. BJ would be a sorry place without Maggies, and so would be the BJ thread.
