I have been in BJ for about 4 days and I thought I'd try the famous Maggies last night for New Years Eve thinking that they must do something special. As I had never been before I wasnt sure what to expect, I learnt quite a lot and wanted to share with any of you newbies and visitors to BJ (non- expats).

The bar is in a quiet area and quite safe, the style is of an American country bar with a pool table and a large central bar area (doesnt apeal to me but some will like it). Basically, the bar is for foreigners ONLY, this includes WGs. The only Chinese there are all working for Maggies as bar girls or bar men, no Chinese patrons are allowed. The 'bar girls' are in fact hostesses whose sole function is to entertain you and to get you to buy them drinks, they will nearly always ask for a long island iced tea at 80RMB each (about USD11). I sipped one and it didnt seem to contain any alcohol. One of my hostesses was very honest and explained the deal. The bar girls are not allowed to leave with the customers or they will get sacked, (some do anyway). They have to bring in about 5 drinks per night to keep their jobs, if they do not chat to enough people and drink plenty of drinks, they get 'talked' to by the boss. For this reason I suspect that their drinks are specially formulated to omit alcohol as they will not be much good plastered. Also they will take frequent 'bathroom' breaks to make sure they can drink more.

They will happily assist you in picking out the Mongolians (they themsleves refer to Maggies as a Mongolian bar) though there is one Pakistani as well as a few Russians apparently, though I didnt see any. The Mongolians have a very different appearance than the Chinese to those who can tell these things (i can) they do not have the same refinement of features and internal grace of the Chinese and tend to be all North - South with not much going on in the equatorial region, though they usualy have good stacks. I didnt see any above about 8, mostly around 6-7 on the Richter scale, even saw some 4-5s if that takes your fancy.

Even on New Year's Eve there was nothing going on before about 12am. The problem with this is that if you pick up a girl and take her back to your hotel then you can't be certain that you will be able to get her in (I stayed at the Pen and already talked to one of the guys and agreed that I will be bringing someone, although I didn't after all) but I am not sure that you will be able to get girls into some hotels at around 1-2am. So this means that unless you are an expat and actualy live in BJ in your own apartment then you might want to stay clear of Maggies, due mainly to the lateness of any availability. The going rate is 700-800RMB for 'all night', but remember 'all night' starts at around 2am.

The hostesses I talked to were charming and not pushy at all and were happy enough to give over their phone numbers for post maggies contact but they claim to be virgins (and I am quite certain they were).

They also work for tips so they will ask you for some money before you leave, I didn't give any as I had bought lots of drinks. They are happy enough to crawl all over you and are very tactile, clearly programmed to get you to stay longer at the bar.

Overall even I found Maggies a bit sleazy and lacking class (and I am no saint) I am not sure I would recommend this place to any newbs or plain vistitors to BJ, or those who find Chinese women extraordinarily attractive like I do, hence I left empty handed and after looking forwards to a New Yers eve filled with debauchery I went to sleep like a saint....ahhhh.

I am not sure where else to recommend (I might try the Pig in the Holiday Inn Lido tonight though this is well out of downtown) as I havent had much luck while in BJ but unless you live here and/or can't tell the difference between a Mongolian and a Chinese then Maggies may not be your best options.

Some places are just legit. Some places are very specific in not offering services that are not requested.

There's a Korean sauna that I went to a couple of times that offered me and seemed to offer nothing but legit services (perhaps we're talking about the same place). Only recently did I find out there's another side to the business, but still have never tried it. It's on the list for 2007.

Home Inn has 25 locations in Beijing and probably 150+ all over China. The 6 hour short term stay near GuoMao Subway Station is rmb120. Normal stay is about a bit below 300 (or so). All rooms have broadband internet.

I was at Chun Xiu in late November - went quite late at night - and had a very mediocore experience. The place clearly has potential but it was a ghost town when I was there, and my girl was pretty big /tall /husky (not overweight) - even by western standard, and that basically turned me off. I mean, Jesus, she had huge tits for a Chinese gal but she was just too tall. I haven't done anyone my own size in a long time and that turned me off. We were there that night and it was dead. The few representatives of the Mongolian Embassy complained about not enough business. Come again in a few weeks and re-evaluate!

Apart from that, the report is pretty accurate. I applaud the poster for collecting all that info in one slow night. I'd take objection against Maggie's being "seedy." Old Maggie's was seedy, and that gave it charm. New Maggie's is the best and safest bet in town. And the Mongolian talent usually is more enthusiastic than the local variety.

Update for the regulars: We lost Sissy, the most beautiful of all the hostesses. She decided to hang up the job. Be nice to Linda, and tip her well, she's now in charge of the bar girls.

Unfortunately, I did not stop in, and I would like to find a local lingerie place in Beijing as well.

You can order online from Victoria Secret USA and have them delivered to an address in China. There is some international shipping fee, but it is not too bad. Of course, the girl may find out your address in the US and other info. You can have it sent as a gift with no receipt in order to minimize the info she can get from the package.

Please let me know how it turns out, I would like to get my girl some sexy lingerie as well and prefer not to have too much China activity on my US credit card, VC account, etc, and it is equally troublesome for me to shop and transport lingerie from the US when I visit.

It is also preferable to go to the place together and make sure to get all the correct sizes and clothing that she will enjoy wearing and you will enjoy rogering her in in case either of you is a picky type.

I would recommend investing in a tube of your favorite hand lotion. There isn't much action out that way, and commuting from the city center to Tsinghua would be long and brutal. However, as an ABC who understands some Chinese, you could try picking up university students, although that's hit-or-miss.

My international flight arrived to Beijing and I arranged a meeting here and stayed overnight. I styaed in Hotel Taiwan, four star near Tianmen square. The hotel was old, lousy, and deprived of KTV or sauna. Next to the hotel, there were three saunas-MP.

I tried one, and the lady spent an excellent hour of full massage, no sex! She claimed that it is forbidden, even to come to my room. On the way to MP, I met a mamasan, who offered me lady at 300 RMB, saw the lady, and deceided to go for it, but the hotel rejected her entry in.

The rate of syphilis in China has skyrocketed, increasing 25-fold since the early 1990s, according to a new report from a government health agency. Researchers blame the re-emergence of the sexually transmitted disease on increases in prostitution and premarital sex, inadequate screening services, and other factors.

When the Communist party assumed power in China in 1949, the country was experiencing one of the worst syphilis epidemics in human history. At the time an estimated 5% of people in some large cities carried the disease.

The new government enacted swift changes to stem the syphilis epidemic. For example, it implemented wide screening and free treatment for the disease and clamped down on prostitution. These changes led to the virtual elimination of syphilis within China.

However new data from China suggest that the rapid social and economic changes there over the past two decades have encouraged the re-emergence of the disease. Data from hospitals and STD clinics around the country report that the rate of syphilis has jumped from 0.2 cases per 100,000 people in 1993 to 5.7 per 100,000 in 2005. In the city of Shanghai the rate is estimated to be as high as 55 cases per 100,000 individuals. The data comes from an analysis by China’s National Center for STD Control in Nanjing.

Myron Cohen at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, US, who worked with the Chinese researchers on the study, expects the rate of syphilis infection to continue rising: “It’s going to get worse before it gets better.”

I was hesitant to put up this second installment of a trip report (for Beijing), following my first post (Part I - Zhuhai at http://www.internationalsexguide.info/forum/showpost.php?p=544705&postcount=884) due simply to the lack of substantial information - be suitably forewarned:

Social engagements in Beijing did not allow much time for any serious mongering. I wasnt particularly interested in the MP/sauna scene having partaken in Zhuhai and so spent the available time at hand mainly on the FL scene at discos.

Checked out Mix (Workers' Stadium) and Banana (behind Scitech Plaza) on 2 seperate evenings. Didnt encounter any FLs at Mix, which seemed to have a younger hip-hop crowd. Maybe I didnt stick around long enough.

The scene is alive and well for FLs at Banana! On the first visit was approached by several ladies while nursing 40 RMB whiskey and cokes in the main room - picked a little spinner from Haerbin who ended up spending most of the evening (till about 4 am - they close at 6) dancing and drinking with me. Ever since Xmas i have had a lot of difficulty accessing this site outside my work (I am not to keen on accessing this site at work). Someone told me that the problem is common in beijing and could be linked to the earthquake in Taiwan. Anyway i finally decided to risk posting something at work.
I went down memory lane this weekend and visited passions – the place is still basically the same layout but extensively renovated. I found the techno lights good, but the bar has been extended making the whole place look smaller. In fact most of the renovations have seemed to make the whole place smaller – upstairs has been blocked off with privacy screens and downstairs have rather large booths which are semi-private. I get the impression they started out by trying to duplicate the babyface decor – which has lots of private areas for you to entertain with only a small public area. However babyface depends on a lot of locals turning up – and i get the impression this is not occurring. So its falling back to its old business model, which is as follows;
Pay RM100 to get in, this give you a drink. You can then sit at the bar, or one of the very uncomfortable small tables around the almost non-existent dance floor. There are also high tables located in the centre of the old dance floor, but this is rather exposed. (I think they do this on purpose so you don't hang around) Eventually someone will come around and ask you if you wish a girl – once you have selected someone you can then retire to one of the semi-private booths. I did not partake in the “booth” experience so have no idea how much it costs – it use to be RM500 back in the old days. Based on previous posts the girls are available for take-out, but i do not know how much they ask for – i assume a lot up front.
As for the girls, they are the normal passions style – tall and thin. Some had very nice faces, some so-so – but all had very nice bodies. If you are larger than the average Chinese male I would be very careful in buying suits in China. The tailors seem to have trouble in getting the fit right and if you want quality it will cost . Light weight summer suits are OK but they do not seem to last that long and lose their "feel" after a couple of dry cleans.

I've been to that place a few times and I've given it up.

First of all, they don't have a good line-up of girls. One girl told me once that they had 7-8 girls on duty at one time at best. That's probably why the manager did not want to bring the "line-up" in for you to choose.

I found their price to be very high. True, they do have a decent place. but given the other choices available, like Chun Xiu Lu and other sauna, which are providing FS at RMB 600-700 or 800, their price is very high.

here my report about my last stay in beijing. it focuses on cheap barbershop action and one special project i undertook during this visit around january 6th to 11th.

a bit about myself: i am caucasian and travel / visit / worked on and off in china since 1996. i speak enough mandarin to talk myself into troubles and out again. the last point is important because the places i write about all come without english-speaking personnel. i have no idea how well one will do there without mandarin.

i will split this report into several paragraphs along locations. i will only tell the roads where the shops can be found, but will not go into detail with every single shop. there are just too many for that and the report would become unwieldy.

i will be in beijing again till february 2nd, so if anyone wants to meet up with me, sorry - no pm possible. i am not a subscribed member and have no means right now to become one.

general notes

the girls and shops vary widely in the services they provide as well as in ages and looks. i had girls telling they do only hand jobs. others offered fuck & suck. others again only offered blow jobs. some are fine with french kissing. many are not. as my report covers about a couple of dozen shops you can imagine i don’t know what the service in each shops turns out to be. not only that i would lack the time and stamina to put them all to test, but i seriously believe that no human body carries enough body fluid to do so.

anyhow, first a bit about directions: the places i visited were mostly on deshengmennei dajie (sorry, but right now i only have a map without chinese characters to copy from). deshengmennei dajie runs north-south from deshengmen qiao (doh!) which is very close to the jishuitan subway station (ring line). the other way round expressed: go to jishuitan station by subway, head east along the ring road, then turn south into deshengmennei dajie. another way to get to deshengmennei dajie is to head to the very northern tip of houhai lake (which locals may know very well because of its bars and cafes like the starbucks at its very southern end).

the barbershops there are rep001tered all along deshengmennei dajie between deshengmen dongdajie (2nd ring) to the north and dianmen xi dajie to the south. i.e. this is not one compact bloc of several shops clustered together door by door but instead one shop here, the next one a short walk down the road, the next one again down the road a short walk etc. etc.. the shops are all along the eastern side of the street or just a few meters into the little alleys leading east because everything on the western side has been torn down for reconstruction recently. as far as i can tell the shops close rather early at about 22:00 (generally speaking).

the shops are all simple and low end - i.e. unbearable dirty if you grew up in an anti-septic, air-conditioned bubble but perfectly right if you ever had the pleasure to travel in an ordinary chinese long distance bus. besides beauty, dirty also seems to be in the eye of the beholder. anyhow - my special project asked for “dirty” anyways. :p

negotiations in the shops i always started with a bit small talk and after that pretending i wanted an ordinary short time fuck and blowjob. quotes for that usually started around 300 rmb, but was no problem to get an agreement on 200 rmb. but they also went down to 150 rmb if one would just leave.

after establishing this basic price for a short time job i told i am actually interested in any of that and began to explain gradually what i am actually here for. started it off with asking if whether besides fucking and sucking they would also “qifu” (treat bad) someone. question back then was usually whom to treat bad and from there i started to tell about my lady friend and what she likes.

the idea was received with varying levels of enthusiasm, but in general very well. one girl was really keen on it, giving examples of what to call my lady friend (including a couple of cuss words i myself was not familiar with yet) and how to slap her, but regretfully was a bit too keen on money and getting a deal too. some shops were a bit tardy and reluctant (though still open to the idea) but we eventually found one with the right attitude. i.e. interested in treating some well off lady badly, but doing so in good humor and not too greedy when it came to money. what we finally agreed on were 200 rmb for all girls (three of them) treating my lady friend like trash when she arrives and talking not too polite with her, me later arriving and acting as a customer and the girls advertising my lady friend as a cheap (if substandard) ***** to me. what was also agreed on was that they would be present while i “use” her to ensure that she gives me proper service. money was to be paid afterwards - they did not even ask for payment in advance. i attribute this on me taking time to talk with them and establishing some level of trust.

the girls all held up their end of the deal performed and played their part and balanced this fine line between verbal abuse and good humor properly. the only one bugging out was eventually my lady friend who just was not up to undress in front of the girls. not a big problem though, i just switched the story-line then a bit, “complained” about the “lousy service” and “what scam is that?” and said i’ll take her to my hotel instead to “make up for my time wasted”. no problem with the barber girls - they trash talked my lady friend for her lousy performance some more and then let me take her with me.

when screening deshengmennei dajie i was also walking down gulou xidajie (drum tower west road) in search of barbershops. i only found one obviously fake on there amongst many other genuine hairdressers, but that one i still remember because of the girls in there being dressed most “professionally”. most barber girls try to dress not too provocatively, i guess for security reasons. in that shop though one girl wore the classic combo of leather skirt with fishnets and heels while the other had some black see-thru dress neatly walking the line between “dress” and “sexy excuse for a dress”. what i also remember is that this shop closed rather early, probably around 20:00. i suspect the girls only do a bit business there during the day and move on to more upscale places in the evening. their quotes for my project where also more upscale - 600 rmb. i liked the slightly arrogant attitude of the girl with the see-thru (probably useful to put my lady friend down a peg or two) but did not want to go thru the hassle to haggle them down to a reasonable price.

anyhow, in case anyone wants to take a look: gulou xidajie forks off in south-eastern direction from deshengmenqiao all the way to the drum tower. i.e.: go to jishuitan subway station again, head east to get to deshengmenqiao and then, instead of heading south along deshengmennei dajie you head southeast along gulou xidajie. the shop is on the northern side of the road, close to a bus station.

area 3 screw it like the qing (near qianmen)

most locals will know the hutong area just south of tiananmen square. i am talking about the area where dazhalan (or rather “da shi lar” as beijingers call it) is situated and which gets an upgrade now thanks to the olympic games next year.

a less well know fact is, that this area was just the red light district of beijing during the qing dynasty called “the eight hutongs”. i seriously recommend every *****monger in beijing to visit the area and show a bit respect to our host’s local culture and history with regard to our hobby. okay, forget about the “serious” but i still recommend a visit of the area before it is bulldozed so you later can mumble to your grandchildren “i still remember when here all we had were cheap hookers and rocks.”

of the old red light hutongs, only one seriously caters to prostitution anymore. there are still other brothel barbers rep001tered all over the area, but the hutong i suggest to visit still holds about half a dozen or so, rep001tered all along its length until it hits xuanwumenwai dajie. it is the very first one heading to the east, running parallel to qianmen xi dajie in east-west direction. to get there all you have to go is get off the subway at qianmen station and then head down the new road (meishi jie) heading south-west off from the semi circle at qianmen. the first hutong heading west from there is where you should walk down. please act cultured and respectful - this is a historical site for whoring in beijing. well, at least it should be :p

during investigation, short time fuck & suck was offered for 150 rmb in some shop- once i told 200 rmb is too much and left the places. with regard to my special project - the shops here were less enthusiastic about that than the one at deshengmennei dajie, but only a couple rejected the idea outright.

the areas above (1-3) i investigated while still arranging for my special project. but also afterwards i stumbled upon some barbershops here or there while sightseeing in beijing and checked them out superficially.

area 4 fuck the system … or at least fuck close to it. (xi huangchenggeng nanjie)

zhonghai - the “new forbidden city” is the seat of our beloved chinese government officials, who relentlessly struggle to keep china’s economic miracle on track, corruption low and harmful western decadence far away. with regards to prostitution it managed to push it about two blocks east because this is where xi huangchenggeng nanjie runs north-south parallel to the forbidden cities and where i again spotted half a dozen or so barbershops rep001tered along the street.
to get there, let a cab drive you to xianmen dajie as if you were going to the xishiku catholic church, but then turn south into xi huangchenggeng nanjie instead of north into xi huangchenggeng (you guess it) beijie. the shops are again rep001tered all along the street and end when xi huangchenggeng meets the lengjing hutong. as a general trend, the girls there tend to be older and prices thus more reasonable. i was not quoted more than 200 rmb for suck, fuck and kiss and often less very fast.

area 5 royally fucked (nanchizi dajie)

it may not be the imperial harem, but if you look for any action close to the forbidden city, probably nothing can beat nanchizi dajie. to get there, all you need to do is to leave the forbidden city thru its eastern gate and then just turn south into nanchizi dajie. either that or you go by subway to the tiananmen dong station and then head north into nanchizi dajie.

either way, you’ll find again half a dozen shops on that street. upon inquiry it turned out that fucking was in general not available, but blow jobs were on offer. in one shop the offer was 100 rmb for that. i assume the girls there prefer to not undress because the area is nice, neat and probably regularly checked by the police. either that or enough foreign tourists come by so that the girls get by with offering less.

conclusions

Excellent post. I find regular Beijing dirty enough and haven't had the courage to explore the BBSes beyond the Wang jing area. This thread needs more intrepid explorers like yourself to flesh out Beijing's BBS scene, especially since it turns out that the prices are about the same as Shanghai's (RMB150). I was put off by earlier reports of Beijing BBSes costing RMB300+ (that's what I paid in Wangjing), but RMB150 is more like it. Next time I'm in Beijing, I'll explore the BBS option and bargain for 150 or less. Thanks again!

Actually, I mean this place called, "Wang Jing," 望京 which is near the Lido area. Whenever I'm in Beijing, I'm usually doing business around the north 4th ring road area, so Wang Jing isn't so far for me. The epicenter of the BBS scene there (at least when I checked last year) was "Wang Jing Xin Cheng" (Wang Jing New City). If you take the subway (aboveground light rail) to Wang Jing station, the cab ride from there to the Wang Jing Xin Cheng apt complex should only be about RMB10. Almost every apt building in the complex had one or two BBSes. They were cleaner than the ones I've seen in Houhai. But b/c Wang Jing houses a lot of Koreans and other foreigners, the BBSes there get away with charging higher rates (RMB300+). I might have been able to get it lower than RMB300 for 1.5 hours, but I didn't do the "walk away" technique. When I was there last, there were over a dozen of these BBSes in that apt complex.

Andreas - No big deal, I was just being friendly. It seems you have spent a lot of time doing research in our fair city, and I was just interested in hearing some of your stories. You are correct in that the Pig is in the Holiday Inn Lido. Early in the evening it is a nice place to sit and chat, as the girls do not typically start to show up in force until after 9 pm. Speaking of the Pig, last night must have been some type of record. I suggest you try another girl, though if you hang out at the Pig or Maggie's enough, she could turn up. The 'sit and dance' rate quoted is indeed the 'normal price', as I was quoted the same in Dec. 2006. The ST and LT rates seem to be fairly 'standard' but there probably will be room for negotiation should it be late in the night, say 3 or 4 am (I believe they close at 6 am). Not all girls there do full service, meaning some girls accompany guests at the club ONLY.

I was in the Pig on Tuesday night. Now it seems the Chinese girls completly out number the Mongolian girls through out the entire night. They all tend to stay on the right side of the bar (as you come in the front door), leaving the left side to the few remaining Mongolian girls. The advantage of the VIP room is that there a locking door between the bedroom and the sitting room, giving you more privacy. In the standard room the main door has a small window allowing anyone to peak inside and see what is going on. This seemed to make my girl nervous the few times I tried the standard room.

Having now visited with some Chinese friends I have learned that what I thought was a VIP room was only a "standard suite", and there are actually 2 large VIP rooms. These rooms consists of a large sitting area, 4 side rooms, and a large bathroom. In the large sitting area is a sofa similar to what you would find in a KTV room, and a large TV with KTV setup. 2 of the side rooms contain Mahjongg tables. One of the side rooms contains a twin bed, and the last one contains a double bed. The bathroom has a shower as well as a large whirlpool tub, big enough for 2 people.

Each afternoon we would start off enjoying the sauna's facilities on the first floor before heading upstairs to the VIP room. Once we got to the room we would order a late lunch (after 6 pm they have a food buffet setup, but you can order dishes anytime through the day), and eat. We would then ask to see the lineup of girls. During the day there are only a handful of girls on duty, with the first major shift arriving after 3 pm. From what I recall the girls charge 288 RMB for a 90 minute massage. If you want "full service" the girl will charge you for 2 sessions, but only give you 90 minutes. On my last visit I enjoyed her services twice during the 90 minutes for no additional charge, but this my depend on the girl. After the massage you are free to relax in the room, or even go back down and soak in the pools again and shower before getting dressed and leaving.

As someone has pointed out, the sauna experience can be very mechanical unless you take control of the situation. Leave the girl in control and you will receive the same scripted performance with very little variation regardless of which girl you choose (the script does change from sauna to sauna, but in my experience they are all very similar). Sometimes this is not bad you generally know what you are getting, but it does take some of the anticipation away. I have never had a problem getting the girl to change things up, so do not feel like you are tied into their routine.

All said and done there were 4 of us that were at the sauna for around 3 hours. We each utilized the sauna facilities, shared the VIP room, had lunch, and received a full service massage. The total cost was 3700 RMB. By the way, they do take credit cards and offer fa piaos described as a "meal". For reference a standard room is 50 RMB per hour, a Standard Suite is 60 RMB per hour, and one of the VIP rooms is 1000 RMB per day (I do not know if there is an hourly rate). Add to this around 50 RMB for use of the sauna facilities, and whatever massage you choose starting at 128 RMB for a straight, no funny business massage, 288 RMB for a massage with happy ending, and 288 RMB X 2 (576 RMB) for a full service massage.

I have to say that the sauna is becoming my favorite medium for the hobby. So far I have only tried the ShiYi and the ChunXiuLu. The ChunXiuLu is "nicer," and seems to have a better selection of girls, but it is also more expensive. I know they also have large VIP rooms available, but I would imagine a similar experience would cost double at ChunXiuLu then it would at ShiYi. That being said, I have not taken my Chinese business friends there yet, so I will have to give it a shot and see. I find the ShiYi to be a very good value for the money. I am open to try other saunas recommended by board members, but I must admit I do not read Chinese, and I am terrible with directions, so the location will need to be very carefully described.

I ask if they have caused some type of trouble, but they said no, they have just been turned away at the door. Having just came back from a marathon in Thailand, I can honestly say its going to take something very special to beat my Massage Parlour experiences down there, again! But as my sauna experience in Beijing, has been more towards 1200+rmb per person, this place definatley sounds alright. And I love the way you can pay for pussy with a credit card but other than that, they're practically useless in china. Very handy when for when you rack a high bill by falling asleep on the job in a room charged at 168rmb/hour :D ooooops!!!

I tried to search for GF hotels to stay at, but as the format of this site is one huge thread, all I get back is the entire thread.

I would like to come to Beijing for a few days, I have read a few posts about clubs to try, but can not really see anything about GF hotels, or is there no problems?

I was their last month so i suspect its still open. Often places will close for Xmas and reopen after chinese new year, but as Passions was open in mid-January i suspect it should still be rocking. However its chinese new year, so it may be rather quiet this week and could be closed for the chinese new year week.

If I understand you correctly, you're having troubles turning up the actual results of your search. Best way is to specify on the search page that you want results to display as POSTS, not threads. Then, you probably want to increase number of characters to display, so that you can see just by scrolling the relevant info.

Anyway, for some strange reason, I ended up in the Howard Johnson Paragon Hotel on friday night at a very early hour. I didnt notice a single security guard at all and we barely even got an eyelid raised from the girl on reception. Cant remember much apart from that but I've never even heard of the place so I thought I would give it a mention. Its off Jiang Guo Men and only rmb10 (rmb11 at night) from Maggies.

The 6th Club is new and is in a recently developed area south of Jiangguomen Wai Dajie at Young Anli It is a large hotel like building and according to the ads in my apartment building and pictures out front it has a restaurant, lounges, fitness club pool, shops and what appears to be hotel rooms. I guess it is a private club that you pay to belong to and then have use of the facilities. It is modern and looks expensive.

Not sure about the girl-friendlyness about the hotels that someone enquired here earlier.

However, here's a work-around, although it involves a bit of effort and works better if the girl speaks English and / or you speak Chinese. It also helps if she doesn't look like an obvious working girl.

1. Get two room keys made when you check in.

2. Give one to the girl and ask her to go up first, a minute or so of time difference is ok, you can even enter the same lift as long as the security or other staff don't see you come into the hotel together.

3. Ask her to hold the card casually, and walk in as if she belongs there.

4. Also, if you know the girl from before, see her outside of the hotel and give her your PC bag to carry when she walks in. Holding a shopping bag from a nearby see-store also helps.

5. Security guards will not typically risk a scene by stopping someone who looks legit, even if they have a suspicion they are not.

Alternatively, consider staying at a different place for the action. Maybe a bit laborious and better suited to 'locals' than the one-off traveler, but worth knowing about.

1. Home Inn, that chain of low-budget hotels, offer 4-hour half-day rates for Y 150 plus Y 50 refundable deposit. You check in as usual and then sms the girl your room number or take her in. The rooms are clean and comfortable and have everything you need. I have not tried this at night, but during day-time, it's a great option, also for those with nosy neighbors.

2. The '8' entertainment complex near Chaoyang Park (forgive me for not putting the address here, I just don't know it) has sauna facilities and you can rent private rooms there. All you do is check in together, change separately and then meet in the room. I have not used it myself, but friends have, and it works.

Finally got round to checking out the above place.

In terms of address/ location, it is really not difficult to find. Coming from Dongzhimen Daijie from the direction of the German and Canadian embassy,i.e. away from the 3rd Ring, just turn right into Chun Xiu Liu. As described by another post, there's a Pizza Hut on the opposite corner.

Walk on the left side for about 100 meters. The Sauna is the building with a lot of neon lights outside, it is also higher than the other buildings (4 or 5 stories). If you pass a Supermarket and , after that, the Red House hotel, you have gone too far.

The place itself was soso in my view:

1. I found it relatvely dirty, compared to saunas in Shanghai or Hong Kong, e.g. changing room floor has a lot of dust, shower area has stains and empty packaging lying around. Maybe it's just quite local in a sense and more mid- than up-market. I am not being squeamish, I think it's decent and 'doable', but not a 4-star.

2. Up on the fourth floor, rooms are actually better / cleaner, although stair carpets etc also not too clean.

3. Service for the 840 package included fire & ice, lackluster massage, and FS. Girl was ok, but just going thru the motions. At least no fake moaning.

Paid 888 altogether, including the entrance fee of 48. They take card (no AMEX though) and give you an official, machine-printed fapiao.

Maybe it was because of CNY week or so (hence slow biz, fewer grrls, no cleaners etc) but I wasn't too impressed. More of an option when you can't hook up with anyone else or for the intrepid explorer.

Anyway, other folks obviously liked the place, so this is really just my perspective.

I agree with you. I do not know many people that give this place a good review. It's the fact that, there are not many options in Beijing. At least if there are, they are not too well known. Like Shanghai and other places.

I was there once, and the girl would not give a BJ, and the sex was mechanical at best. Waste of time and money. Better to take a chance on a FL from HRC or P&W.

However, it doesn't take more than 30 secs before the action comes to you (at least concerning non-Asians who apparently stick out in the crowd). I was shopping and strowling around several times around the Wangfujian area and shopping malls. Literally within seconds of being alone and waiting (and looking anything but horny), I got approached several times by girls proposing services.

Most of these girls take up "strategic" positions around the railings of the second floor in malls where they can watch the scence and spot potential customers. The girls seemed to be around 20 to 24, speaking basic to intermediate English, "normally" dressed; rather school girl type than provincial. Since I didn't engage in negotiations, I cannot tell anything about prices. In terms of looks, 6-8 range, didn't look like "professionals"; GFE very much imageinable.

Hope this helps Bejing travellers who are concerned about not finding any action. If I stayed near Wangfujian alone, I'd certainly give it a try instead of travelling to far away massage places in seedy neighborhoods.

I am interested in whether the propositions were specific or whether this was a scam attempt. Most of us have been approached by young girls, often in pairs, who are really interested in nothing more than steering a sucker to a restaurant or bar where some exorbitant charge will eventually be presented. This seems to be a popular and lucrative pastime for girls on Nanjing Road in Shanghai. In the case of a scam, specific requests or suggestions for services are deflected.

it's no scam - I lived in Oriental Towers for a long time, and maybe 20% of the time when I went downstairs to the mall, I'd run into working girls. Saw a few of the Pig girls, the ocassional mogolian. Mainly chinese girls. They go between the mall and the lobby of the Hyatt. And of course on Wangfujing itself there are hookers - that's where the infamous Mary plied her trade almost exclusively.

I agree its for real as I followed a beautiful girl entering Oriental Plaza mall from subway when she was stopped by security and detained at the police station just off the subway station into the Mall. As Mall was closing several girls follwed me all the way back to the Crowne Plaza. They were still there when I later went out for a walk after finishing with a beauty parlour beauty from the Hotel pool of service providers. Relatively expensive though at 1200 but pretty good variety of positions and services. Many mamasans will provide service providers to your room at between 800 and 1000 for LT. Even got one into the Prime Hotel once after the elevator guy left at 11. Had STs off of Wanfujing for 500 and repeaters from HRC for 600 after initial 3 hour session for 800. Just don't follow the touts amd waste your time in some underground KTV away from Sanlitun. Enclosed is pic of parlour girl that was totally wild.

I think you are out of luck Mr Gun. From my memory, none of the 4 or 5 star hotels in Beijing have airconditioning, only very occasional hot water, and are unclean most of the time.

But girl friendly is usually not a problem, unless things change for the Olympics.

Gun, you posted a virtually identical question in December. Did you not go to China ? If you had, maybe you wouldn't ask such a stupid quesion. (not saying you are stupid, just the question you asked).

Here's some really breaking news: Virtually all of the 4 star and 5 star hotels in China have A/C, and running water that gets hot if you turn the knob in the right direction. And they have elevators, and internet access, and the minibars tend to have Snickers bars, or else Kit Kat's.

During the Olympics, do you really think that the government will allow hotels to have bad A/C and hot water ? The star rated hotels in Beijing during the Olympics will ALL be clean, have new bedsheets, probably new mattresses, and rumour has it, doors with locks and even televisions.

I won't even touch the question of girl friendly hotels. If i did, I'd probably get a pissed off and just say read the damn forum. But I won't do that. The nice guy I am, I'll give you a recomendation. Stay at the Grand Hyatt. Jing Guang is sterile and boring; Beijing International Hotel is more like a 3.5 star.

Sorry you feel the question was stupid. Maybe you were having a bad day. And yes I posed a similar question in December and the agency I am working with has sent me updated information on the hotels and they need to have my decision within a few weeks as to which hotel I want to stay in for their coordination purposes.

Yes, I have been to China and as my friend below Jack has stated most are not always clean, have hot water or even working A/see.

I was trying to use this forum to get some accurate information because I can't stay in every hotel and most reviews from several travel web sites are spotty and dated at best.

I know the Holiday Inn has the Pig so I again, was just asking for help. I know the Sheraton has Passions but it is not one of the hotels I can get my rates for.

My comments about A/C and working Hot water were attributed to my extensive research on many travel web sites.

Many, many reviews state very clearly that rooms did not have working A/C the whole time and that the hot water was on/off, etc.

I have been to China, Macau, HK, and many other countries.

MY point of my post was to find if the members here have better or more accurate information that is posted on the sites I have reviews BECAUSE many reviews are dated and there is generally only one review for each hotel and I don't want to take one person's opinion for my decision.

Have friends and acquaintances very familar with the Beijing "clean up" in preparation for the Olympics. Would be very very surprised if you are going to find anything. You will not have any problem with any of the facilities at a 4 or 5 star hotel in Beijing, or anywhere else in China for that matter. I would suspect that the 3 stars will probably be OK as well. Don't get me wrong, I have stayed in the no aircon/hot water hotels outside of Beijing, but these are never listed as 4 or 5 star hotels.
It seems that Holiday Inn maybe the best bet? Agree?Everyone knows that I am a huge fan of the Lido and the Pig, but I think the Grand Hyatt is the best all-around hotel in Beijing. It is located down town within in a major shopping area, and within walking distance of one of the major tourist attractions - the Forbidden city. Even though the Lido is a 4 star hotel, it is getting old and run down. I would almost give them 3.5 stars, and they still charge 5 star prices. I am surprised to hear it is going to cost you $2000 extra (that is $200 extra per day over a 10 day trip) to stay at the 5 star vs the 4 star. I would expect it to be about $100 extra per day, but the rates must be jacked up for the Olympics. I still think that I would choose the comfort of the Hyatt and watch this board for where to find the girls over the Olympic week.

As a trial run for the Olympics Beijing put in to effect many of the measures they have planed during the African Summit that took place here this summer. It is the only time in the last 10 years that I have been going to Maggie's (has it really be 10 years, wow!), that they closed their doors to working girls due to government pressure. They were still open, and had their Chinese bar girls there, but the Mongolian girls were not allowed in. On the other hand, The Pig was packed every single night. Traffic was also well controlled, so if they put the same rules into effect staying down town will not be a huge traffic problem.

While we are on the topic, I agree with Albert Punter that a serviced apartment would be a very good alternative. I understand that this will not suit TheGun's needs, but for other that are considering traveling to Beijing you could probably book a service apartment for the whole month for the same cost of 10 days in a 4 or 5 star hotel. The benefits include all of the amenities of a hotel, plus a kitchen and the ability to (generally) bring back anyone you want, anytime you want.

The cost is rated per day for everything not just the hotel.

It basically is for the flight, hotel, side trips, their help while you are there and help in getting tickets.

What i am paying right now for 10 days s little over $1000 more than what people are now paying for 6 days due to my registration a year ago with 1/3 deposit.

Just as an update for those interested in experimenting, Viagra and Cialis are both available in many of the local neighborhood 'adult/ sex shops' (I saw it in three, so not a representative sample but nevertheless).

Hard to say whether they are real. If not, then at least the packaging and leaflets are copied to perfection (I. E. Normally you pay in KTVs:

1. The room, depending on size and whats included (drinks, snacks, etc.). A room good for 10-12 (5 or 6 guys plus 5-6 girls should be 600-1000 RMB, depending on room standard and drinks included. drinks included might be 20+ bottles of beer or 2 bottles of Whiskey incl. mixers)
2. The girls: Tip.. depending on the place, usually 200-300
3. Mamasan: 100-200
4. Waiter: 100, sometimes.
5. Toilet boy: 10, not mandatory

So, your experience in my opinion was a bit pricey if the girls were only "soso", but not outrageous. If the girls would be really nice, pretty and make a good show above standard, I would even say it would be a normal price for that.

Mama-san Fee : This is reasonably pricey considering you were only in the bar, however i have come across it a few times - especially in the high class KTV's in shanghai - but i have never experienced it in Beijing in a bar. Its common if you take a room, but even then RM400 for the mama-san seems a bit steep - unless you got a great experience and intend to come back again. I normally give the mama-san from RM200-RM300 - but only if i am in a room. But i don't think you were massively ripped off - Passions or Diamond Age girls ask RM500 to just talk - but then there are no mamma-san's in the bar.

I do notice that my friends from Hong Kong, Singapore and taiwan seem to get asked to pay for a lot of extra's - if they are old timers they normally don't pay, if they are new they sometimes pay because they don't know the system. I suspect if you speak pudongwa and are new the locals have a greater latitude to ask for these extra's.

I don't think there's any mystery. These sites provide contact information for travel guides and companions, male and female. (Well, I take that back. I don't remember seeing any males on banwan.com.) Normally I concentrate on the females (that's a joke). Of these, I estimate about 75 per cent provide p4p. There are very few reasonably priced KTV which can cater for English speakers - the only one i can think of is in the same building as the Mariott - its Singapore style with a public area as well as rooms. Go to the mariott and ask for the KTV. Make sure you confirm the girls are take-out.

I just went out with some friends last night to a KTV place recommended to me on the third ring road. If you purchase a bottle of whisky (the ubiquitous Chivas) for an inflated ~1500 RMB you get the room for as long as you want, plus all the fruit/beer/green tea you can take. Girls are 300 RMB each for the duration, plus some random tips for mamasan, waiter, anyone else that wanders into the room when they see laowai, etc. There was an additional fee for taking the girls out later - can't remember exact amount. All said and done, for three of us for three or four hours it was around 3000 RMB. Not exactly cheap, but not extortionate by Beijing standards either.

As previously mentioned, it really does help to speak a bit of Mandarin - at least so you can enjoy yourself more with the girls, but the folks there know what you are wanting so don't stress it. I told the mamasan beforehand we wanted girls who would do takeaway - don't know if they all do or not. Certainly the girls were flashing their tits, allowed all manner of groping, and I'm sure would oblige with a little more in-room fun if they liked you (though no sex). They had a reasonably good selection of Western songs as well, so it should work for entertaining your Western guests.

As an aside - it's a shame that the foreign music industry has leaned on the government to make the KTV places pay to license music, as the last few KTV places I've been to in China have had absolutely atrocious backing music for the songs - in the past I recall proper original backing music. Upon entering, there is a cashier's station on the left, where you are immediately given a key & number to wear on your wrist. This is how they keep track of your charges. A sauna attendant (who spoke some English) accompanies you into the changing room on the first floor. Here, you get naked before heading to the shower and/or sauna. I didn't see any foreigners.- this was a Thursday evening around 9: 30. Only Chinese. After locking up my clothes, I went to the showers and cleaned up. After showering, or using the tubs or sauna if you wish, you're offered a toothbrush and razor.

After this, it's pretty clear to the attendants what you are there for. I was asked if I wanted "massage" and "make love" in English. One of the towel attendants asked if I needed a condom and handed one to me, though I don't know why this is necessary since all the girls have them. Maybe he just wanted a tip? I was also presented with the "special pajamas" cabinet, where I could buy some expensive PJs, as mentioned in other reports. I kept telling them (in Chinese) that I didn't want to buy clothes, but in my agreeable nature, I finally relented to some 120 RMB pajamas. I don't think these are needed, but hey, they look nice.

Now dressed in my new fancy clothes, I was sent to the fourth floor, past the restaurant on the 2nd floor and the resting room (I think) on the third floor. An usher brought me into a pleasant room, decorated like a standard hotel room with a double bed, and saw some girls along the way. I don't know if it was a VIP room or not.- probably not.- and think it was just a regular one. Overall, I thought the room was clean.

The usher gave me the international motion for sex, and I asked for a menu (in Chinese), which he brought. It was in Japanese and English, and based on the previous reports, I asked for the 504 RMB service, which includes massage & FS. (I don't remember exactly what it said on the menu.) I also saw the 800 RMB service listed on there, but don't recall what the differences were on the menu.

Shortly thereafter, three girls were brought into the room. All pretty, I thought, but #830 was the cutest, and I chose her. Again, this was about 9: 45 p. M. , so I don't know how busy it was and whether it is usual to get such a decent selection. After a few minutes, she came back, put a sheet down on the bed, and helped me take my clothes off. She had me lie face down, and then took her clothes off, and started with the massage. Best of all, she had a tub of hot water, which felt good. Much attention to the lower back and ass.

Pretty soon, she asked me to flip over, and then talked me into the 800 RMB service. Honest, I'm not sure of exactly what "extras" I was getting, since my Chinese isn't too good. But, this is my weakness. I'll agree to things like this, although I know it will cost more. Oh well. Pretty soon, she was giving a BBBJ, lots of smiles, very good provider. Then, proceeded into FS, and alternated with BJ until the inevitable occurred. After this, she gave me a nice massage, and we had a small chat. I'm sure we could have gone a second time, but I was ready to head home. My decision.

Overall, I thought it was a good experience. The facilities were good, I thought the girl was pretty & enthusiastic. Some other commments indicated that the girls seem mechanical, but at least #830 gave a good level of service. Next time, I might just stick with the 504 RMB service. Everyone I asked said a lot of foreigners go there. It helps to know some Chinese, but I think it can be done without knowing the language well. Oh yes, and the total damange? 1, 016 RMB. I already know that's high so I don't need it pointed out to me, but I bought the PJs and opted for the 800 RMB service. Next time, it shouldn't be so much.

I just went out with some friends last night to a KTV place recommended to me on the third ring road. If you purchase a bottle of whisky (the ubiquitous Chivas) for an inflated ~1500 RMB you get the room for as long as you want, plus all the fruit/beer/green tea you can take. Girls are 300 RMB each for the duration, plus some random tips for mamasan, waiter, anyone else that wanders into the room when they see laowai, etc. There was an additional fee for taking the girls out later - can't remember exact amount. All said and done, for three of us for three or four hours it was around 3000 RMB. Not exactly cheap, but not extortionate by Beijing standards either.

As previously mentioned, it really does help to speak a bit of Mandarin - at least so you can enjoy yourself more with the girls, but the folks there know what you are wanting so don't stress it. I told the mamasan beforehand we wanted girls who would do takeaway - don't know if they all do or not. Certainly the girls were flashing their tits, allowed all manner of groping, and I'm sure would oblige with a little more in-room fun if they liked you (though no sex). They had a reasonably good selection of Western songs as well, so it should work for entertaining your Western guests.

As an aside - it's a shame that the foreign music industry has leaned on the government to make the KTV places pay to license music, as the last few KTV places I've been to in China have had absolutely atrocious backing music for the songs - in the past I recall proper original backing music. So the KTV places have gone legit in one aspect, but are still effectively brothels - go figure.

The place is on the third floor of a hotel (forget the name of the hotel) on the Third Ring Road about 4 kilometers South from Jianwai SOHO. Tell your taxi driver to take you to Jing Rui Da Xia on South Third Ring Road ("dong san huan nan lu") - apparently every taxi driver in Beijing knows Jing Rui Da Xia. Just in case you get one that is so flustered by seeing a foreigner that he forgets how to understand spoken Chinese, the Chinese characters for the building are 竟瑞大厦 and the address is 17 Dongsanhuan Lu. General Introduction

Beijing has a large variety of girls available, both domestic girls from all over China, to international working girls from Russia and Mongolia, making it a good town for mongering. The only down side is that the prices are generally higher in Beijing then other Chinese cities for similar services.

Prostitution is illegal in China, but it is generally tolerated. A few times a year the government will try to clean up the town. This cleanup occurs when the Peoples Congress is in session, as well as right before the October National holiday. If one of the bars gets raided (which is rare) the cops will come in and ask to see everyone’s passports. I have never heard of a foreigner being detained, but I guess it could happen.

Beijing is one of the safest cities in the world. Crime is low, and considering the population the odds of getting in a physical altercation are almost zero. Regardless, if you are stupid you can fall victim to any number of petty crimes or scams. Common scams include a pretty girl coming up to you on the street, flirting with you, and then suggesting you go to some local restaurant or tea house. She orders the tea, but when the bill comes it is much higher then you would ever expect. A similar scam is for “art students” to invite you back to their gallery to view their air. They will then hit you up to buy their art at very inflated prices. Mostly harmless, but it is still something to be avoided. More dangerous scams do exist, but typically involve someone convincing you to follow him/her to a nearby bar/ktv to see beautiful girls. Once you get to the room a couple of things can happen. You might have a nice KTV experience, but at the end presented with an outrageous bill. When you refuse to pay some large men will come in and threaten you until you agree to pay, or turn over all the money in your wallet. In another twist the girl will get very friendly with you, and while you are in the throws of passion some large bouncer looking guys will bust in and claim that you have broken the law and if you do not pay them off they will call the cops. The best way to avoid such scams is to NEVER go with someone claiming they will take you to the best bar/ktv or a lot of “beautiful girls”. If they have girls, ask them to bring the girl to you.

During certain times of the year girls are harder to come by then other times. Times of the year to avoid include the Chinese New Year (locally called the Spring Festival), the first week in May (international Labor holiday), and the first week in October (China National Holiday). There is also a crack down whenever the Chinese People’s Congress is in session.

I do not claim to know everything about mongering in Beijing, but I believe this document covers the basics. Feel free to send me a PM with corrections or additional information, and if you cannot PM just post it on the board as an FAQ addendum.

Code Phrase

If you are in one of the common mongering spots mentioned in this document you can use the following “code phrase” to try and identify other members who read this board. Simply say to the guy sitting next to you at the bar “Sure are a lot of girls in here.” If the place is currently empty then it can be said in a sarcastic tone. If you hear this phrase you can reply “Yea, I read about it on the internet”. Vola! You now have a buddy with whom you can compare notes.

How to use this forum

The goal of this forum is to share information. Senior members generally feel that someone who only posts questions without contributing information is not worth helping. It is strongly recommended that you read this document from start to finish before posting a question. At the same time you may want to post any limited information you might have. For example, you once stayed at XYZ hotel, and saw what looked to be working girls in the hotel lobby. You could even post that you saw absolutely zero working girls at the hotel. If you have posted information in this or other forums on this board you will typically you will be well received.

Beginners Pub Crawl

The most basic itinerary is to start at the Pig and Thistle in the Holiday Inn Lido. The Pig opens at 5 pm and is a great place to meet your friends for a beer after work. From 5 pm until 8 pm is "happy hour" which will get you 2 for 1 drinks. Chinese girls start to show up early (around 7:30 pm), Mongolian and Russian girls later (around 9:30 pm). As this is a major 4 star hotel everyone will speak English, and they will accept credit cards. There is an ATM machine in the hotel, as well as many restaurants. At about 11 pm you can move from “The Pig” to the Hard Rock Café (HRC). A taxi ride should cost you around 15 RMB. You can always ask one of the girls in the Pig to go with you, and then dump her later if you find someone better. They will all know how to get there, and be happy to get into the Hard Rock as they typically cannot get in alone without paying off the bouncers. The Hard Rock will cost you 100 RMB cover charge, but they will have a live band and you will get 1 drink for “free”. You can go earlier, but the girls do not start to show up until after 11 pm. At 1 am the band is finished for the night and everyone heads to Maggie's. Taxi’s will be queued up outside The Hard Rock and you can simply tell the driver “Maggie’s” and they will know where to go. It is that simple. If you are not a late night person I suggest you still make this trek one night early in your visit. You can then collect mobile phone numbers from various girls you encounter during the evening, and then give them a call to meet you later during your stay.

The Girls

Every week there are new girls coming to Beijing. At the same time, I have known many girls that have worked in Beijing for years. It is often difficult to discuss specific girls because many of them go by the same name, but once you become a regular you will start to realize which girls are regulars too. China will grant the Mongolians a 90 "tourist" visa, so most of the girls have apartments and spend 3 months in Beijing, then go home for a week or 2 to get a new visa. Since they have apartments it is possible to go back to their place if you do not want to bring them back to your hotel, but you should confirm this first because they all have several room mates. Often when you go back with a girl to her apartment (Chinese or Mongolian) they will offer for their room mate to "join in". This of course will cost you more money. While tempting, in my experience the 3-some in China is typically you have sex with one girl, then the other, rather than the orgy the movies make it out to be.

The girls all talk to each other, so if you screw one over the rest of them will quickly find out and either avoid you, or ask for a premium, up front payment before going with you.

Mongolian Vs. Chinese Vs. Russian

The old joke is "what do you call a Chinese girl with tits and ass? Mongolian!" Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There are some girls in the bar that I would not look twice at, but they still manage to find business. In my opinion the Chinese have a more classic beauty, but the Mongolian's have nicer bodies. I have found the Mongolian's to be more passionate. They are more likely to drink with you and have a good time in the bar before going home with you. Once you get them home they truly seem to enjoy their work. The Chinese girls in Beijing tend to be true "professionals" or inexperienced girls straight from the countryside. The Russian's attitude seems to be a cross between the two - they will drink with you in the bar to a certain extent, but they will quickly ask if you want to go with them. If you say no they will move on to the next guy. There are always exceptions, so your mileage may vary.

You can find Chinese girls on the street that are working for "mamasans", but most of the girls I encounter in the bars are all independent providers. I have not encountered a Mongolian girl yet that is working with/for a pimp, but it seems all of the Russian girls are. I suspect this has something to do with their travel expenses - the pimp up-fronts the travel money and expects to make a profit.

Taking Girls back to your room

It is against the law to have a visitor in your hotel room after 11 pm. Many hotels will stop you if you try to take a guest to your room starting around 10:30. The girls will know the situation better then we do - If you pickup a girl in the hotel's bar then she probably will have a way to get upstairs. If you are taking her back to your hotel simply ask her if it will be a problem. If you see security guards posted at the elevators then they will probably stop you. You wont get in any trouble, but they will not let the girl up. If you are bringing back a Russian or Mongolian girl to your hotel then you can officially register her as a "guest" at the hotel front desk. All this means is that the hotel will make a copy of her passport. The girl must have a valid visa in order for this to work, so you may want to ask her if she has her passport before you head back to the hotel. Keep in mind that when she registers at the front desk then her name may appear on your bill when you check out. If this will be a problem you can always ask them to reprint it, removing the girls name. On the plus side if the hotel has the girls passport information there is no way she will try to rip you off.

Cost

Many factors impact the price - short time vs. all night, age and experience of the girl, time in the evening (early/late), venue (Pig, Hard Rock, Maggie's), and so on. I am a firm believer in the idea that you get what you pay for. I want a good experience, so I am willing to pay a little more. I believe the price schedule I use is fair to both parties.

Russian girl: anywhere from 600 RMB - 1,000 RMB depending on how busy they are.

Barbershops (BBS)

There are many barber shop/hair salons all over Beijing. Some of these shops are legitimate places to get your hair cut, while others offer massage and "extras". The best way to tell the difference is to look inside. If you see several young girls dressed in short skirts then they probably offer extras. At some of the places the girls are standing in the doorway of the shop trying to get customers to come in. They all have some type of back room where the massage will be performed. Conditions vary widely from shop to shop - some have a nice back room with a small table or bed and a locking door, others just have an area partitioned off with a Curtin.

I have personally investigated the BBSs near the Lido hotel. They all are very aggressive and promised a massage, but they wanted to be paid 300 RMB up front. This will get you a so-so massage and a hand job. Once you are in the room a 2nd and 3rd girl will come in asking if you want them to join in. They will each want additional money. I know a (naive) western friend who went looking for a hair cut, and was talked into a massage for 300 RMB. After the girl had got him "excited" she told him she would give him a hand job for $100 US. This is way out of line price wise. Service will vary from shop to shop, or even from girl to girl. It has always been my impression that to take full advantage of the BBS scene you need to be able to speak good mandarin.

An alternative to the BBS is the Cigar Bar down the street from the Lido called “Café del Mar”. In the basement they have several small rooms where they offer massage. Friends have told me that for 600 RMB you can get full sex. I have also been told that the massage girls are available for take out. On the first floor are some girls that will sit in drink with you (similar to the Chinese girls at Maggie's), but only a few of them will offer massage. There are also different girls that are completely dedicated to massage, so before you spend a lot of time/money chatting up a girl find out if she will go the extra mile with you.

Saunas

Sometimes when you are stuck in the middle of nowhere the only bright spot might be your hotel's "sauna". Most of the Chinese hotels will have some type of massage or sauna place down in the basement, and almost all of these places will perform extra services. These services will range from a hand job to full sex, depending on the place and the girl. Your biggest hurdle will be to convince them to service a westerner, so this is the time when you will need the help of your Chinese business partner. Ask him to arraign your first visit, and you can then go down whenever you want after that and negotiate on your own. There are several saunas in Beijing and this can be a nice alternative if you cannot bring a girl back to your hotel.

The way a sauna works is as follows – you walk in and are greeted by someone at a check-in counter. They will take your shoes from you and give you a pair of slippers. I guess this is there way to ensure you don’t walk the bill – you would have to do so leaving your shoes behind! They will give you some type of tag with a number on it. This is your locker number, and also the way they track your bill. You then go to a locker/changing room and take off all of your clothes and lock them up. You will then be shown into a room with showers, large pools of different water temperatures, and a traditional sauna room. You first take a shower and are free to use the pools and sauna. Sometimes you will see guys sitting around naked playing Chinese chess. They may also have a body scrub room where a guy will scrub all over you to defoliate your skin. When you are finished you go get a towel and dry off and go back into the locker room. They will have some pajamas you can wear for free. They may try to up-sell you and talk you into purchasing some of their special pajamas, but this is not required.. You will then typically go upstairs and be escorted to a hotel like room. There are different sizes of rooms, for different prices. They may take you to a small one first, or a big one. You can always ask to see other sizes of rooms. Next you will be shown a menu of services. Sometimes they have English, sometimes they don’t. If they don’t then you need to get it across to the person who is showing you to the room what you want as some girls will do the extra services, and some will not. You can get a standard massage which will almost always end with a hand job. Some saunas offer “cat baths” where the girl licks all over your body, “fire and Ice” where she will give you a blow-job first with warm tea in her mouth, and then with cold water. If full sex is not on the menu, but the girl will do it, she will typically charge you for 2 standard massages. Once your massage is finished you can go back down to the sauna area and shower before getting dressed.

You generally pay a fee just to use the sauna’s facilities, another hourly fee for the room, and a fee for the massage. Depending on what type of massage you choose the total package should run from 500 RMB to 1000 RMB.

Located outside off the 4th ring road, north east of the city along the way to the airport. Tell the taxi driver "Li Du Fan Dian" and he will know where to take you. For those historians on the board the Pig and Thistle was once called the Pig and Whistle, but they were forced to change their name a few years ago because there is some other bar in China with the name Pig and Thistle that has registered it as a trademark in China. It is easiest to simply refer to it as "The Pig". The Pig has a decent 2 for 1 "happy hour" from 5 to 8. You pay hotel bar prices for your drinks, but when they are 2 for 1 it is not so bad. Some Chinese working girls will start to show up as early as 6, and the Mongolian and Russian girls are usually in force by 10. If the Chinese girls are not in the Pig they can often be found sitting at either the Starbuck's or Baskin Robins in the Lido complex around the corner. All of the Chinese girls at the Pig are "regulars", there night after night. They are all very friendly and will be more than happy to act as a tour guide for you during the day. I have arraigned this for friends on several occasions and they have always been pleased. The Pig closes at 2 am, and last call is 1 am. Typically the girls will gauge the crowd and start to leave for either the Hard Rock or Maggie's around midnight. If you don't know what you are doing, just sit down at the bar and strike up a conversation with another guy. There is an ATM in the Lido complex that accepts international debit and credit cards. Since The Pig is located in a major international hotel chain it will accept credit cards for payment.

The Pig is an oasis in the middle of hostile territory. The Lido is still a haven for much of the expat population in Beijing, so there is always a chance you will run into the wife of one of your expat partners. If it is early simply tell the girl to follow you at a safe distance, and to keep walking should you stop to chat with someone. There are currently a couple hundred American construction workers in town building the new American Embassy. They work 6 days a week, and are off on Sunday. It is best to avoid the Pig on Saturday night as the male to female ratio shifts the supply and demand curve to demand.

Hollywood

Located in the Russian district just south of the Ritan Hotel (Re Tan Fan Dian), Hollywood is within walking distance of Maggie’s. It is styled like a bad rip off of a Planet Hollywood restaurant. There is a 40 RMB cover charge to enter, and this gets you your first drink. Hollywood has the highest population of Russian girls in Beijing, as well as some Mongolian girls. Unlike The Pig, Hard Rock, and Maggie's, the girls are all sitting at tables waiting for the guys to approach them. Be sure and watch the bartenders - they have a tendacy to keep the change from large bills unless to push them to give it to you.

Treasure Island

Located in the Russian district just north of the Ritan Hotel, Treasure Island is more a restaurant than it is a bar. When you go in you will be shown to a table, and a live band will be playing contemporary Russian music. It will be full of Russian working girls, but no one typically shows up until after midnight.

Hard Rock Cafe

Located right next to the Great Wall Sheraton Hotel. You standard Hard Rock Café you will find in many big cities around the world, except working girls start to show up around 11:00 pm. You have to pay a 100RMB cover charge to get in every night except Wednesday. The cover includes your first drink. They usually have a Pilipino band playing that is not too bad. To get a good view hang around the stair case behind the bar. I would venture to say that 99% of the single girls there are working, and they can all speak some English. The Hard Rock is a tourist trap, so there are some non-working girls, but it is easy to distinguish the pros from the straight girls. You will find Chinese, Mongolian, and some Russian girls at the Hard Rock. Talk, flirt, enjoy the view and the music. If you find a girl you like she will be happy to go with you. The girls have to pay a cover to get in every night, plus they must pay security monthly or they will be turned away at the door, so expect to pay a slight premium ( 800RMB) for them to go with you. If you want to make a friend, offer to take one of the girls from the Pig and Thistle to the Hard Rock with you. If they go with a foreigner then they do not have to pay the bouncers extra to get in. Once at the Hard Rock you can ditch her if you like, she will just be happy to be in the prime hunting grounds. Around midnight people will start leaving for Maggie’s.

In the past I have suggested Wednesday night be deemed "beginners" night at the Hard Rock. There is not cover charge on Wednesday, and they play retro music. If you are new in town and looking for advice hang out on the staircase behind the bar. If you are an old hand and see some guy hanging out on the stairs by himself say hello and offer to show him the ropes.

Passion's

Passion’s in the Great Wall Sheraton has reopened, and seems to be back to it’s regular form as a high-end bar/ktv. You will find some of the most beautiful Chinese working girls at Passions. You will need to pay 100 RMB cover to get in, and the girls will expect a 300 RMB tip just to take to you. If you want to take one home it can run you 2000 RMB. Spending time in the KTV can cost you $1000US, so make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.

The Den

The Den is a restaurant and bar downstairs with a bar and dance floor upstairs. The food is good, and it is a nice pickup spot. There is a good mix of Chinese, Russian and Mongolian girls on any given night. There has been some talk about the bouncers at The Den getting a little carried away with people who get drunk and stupid, so if you fall into that category I would suggest you avoid The Den.

Probably the best know bar for our hobby in Beijing. The new location is at the South gate entrance to Ritan Park. Go to their website for a map, but most late night taxi drivers should know "maggies". There is no cover charge, but they sometimes give non-Anglos a hard time at the door saying membership is required. You may have better luck on a non-weekend night, and then once you establish yourself as a regular I don't think they will stop you. At Maggie's you will find Chinese, Russian, and Mongolian girls. Almost all of the Chinese girls in Maggie's work for the bar - their job is to sell you drinks, and get you to buy them drinks. They will also sometime ask you for a tip at the end of the evening. While it is possible to hook up with a girl who works for Maggie's, I have found it is rare. Maggie's stays open until everyone goes home. There have been times when I have walked in, found a girl, and left quickly, and other times I have not left until the sun came up. The main attraction of Maggie's is the Mongolian girls, and they will all end up at Maggie's around 1 am if they are not already taken. For those familiar with the scene in HongKong Maggie's has been described as similar to Fenwick or Neptunes in Wanchai.

Cafe del Mar

Within walking distance from the Lido hotel. You can get a draft beer for 10RMB, and they have bar girls that will sit and drink with you. In the basement they have massage rooms, where it is possible to get extra services. The girls upstairs may make you promises, but when it comes to taking them down stirs they will all differ you to one of their “friends” who specialize in massages. On Wednesday they do a "poll dance" at 10 pm that is rare in Beijing

KTVs

A KTV is the Chinese version of Karaoke. They are 2 types of KTVs, ones that have girls and ones that do not. A “straight” KTV is a place where friends can gather together and sing songs, et cetera, just like you see in the movies. The other type is where guys go to grope all over girls. Think of it as the Chinese version of a strip/gentleman’s club. You would never really go to a KTV alone, but some do have a common bar area where you can get a drink and talk to some of the girls. When you arrive at the KTV you will first be shown to a large room with sofa, a large table, and audio visual equipment. There are 2 major costs associated with KTV'ing - The room, and the girls. You will first be quoted a price for "the room". This price is based upon the size of the room, but think of it as a minimum purchase - if they say it will cost 1000RMB, that means you will need to purchase at least 1000RMB worth of food/snacks and drinks. This does not include the tips for "the girls". Once you get settled the Mamasan will bring in a lineup of girls for you to choose from. If you do not find anyone you like there will probably be another group for you to choose from. I always ask the group if any of the girls speak English. Finding an English speaking girl at a KTV is rare even in Beijing (and non-existent out side of Beijing).

A KTV Tip:

Once you find a girl who speaks English it is wise to get her mobile number, that way, if you plan to go to the KTV in the future you can give her a call and she will wait for you instead of joining the line-up for other guys. I have noticed that most of my Chinese friends all have "regular" girls they call before we arrive at the KTV bar so their girl will be waiting for them. Once you have picked your girl she will wait on you, pour your drink, toast you, offer you food, ect. If you get stuck with a non-English speaker that ask to play the dice game. You can usually do this without her having to know any English, and it allows you and her to drink and flirt together. I have been told that these girls expect you to do just about anything but penetrate them, so feel free to let your hands roam. The girl will typically respond to your cue - if you are bold, she will be bold, if you are shy, she will be shy.

The last few times I have been in a KTV we have played "sex games". These are actually more innocent then they sound, the kind of games you would play at parties when you were in High School, but they are still kind of fun. For example, one of the guys would be blind folded and get to feel up each of the girls and try to guess which tits belong to which girl. Or the opposite, a girl is blind folded and grabs the crotch of each guy. Most of these little games involve the girl getting naked in one capacity or another, so it can be kind of fun. Recently I have also been exposed to "sex shows" where the normal KTV girls leave the room, and another girl comes in and does a Bangkok style sex show. To be honest, I can do without that, but if that is your thing it is now available in Beijing. My last visit when we played the dice game each time I would loose I had to drink, but each time the girl lost she took off an article of clothing. As I have played dice a few times in the past we soon had the cloths off all of the girls.

When it is time to go you will be brought your room bill. Have your Chinese buddy review it and make sure you are not getting cheated. If the place takes credit cards you can typically add the tip onto the room fee, and they will write you a receipt that says "meal" or "food" in Chinese. I have been to several KTV places in Beijing, and never tipped anyone but the Girl who sat with me (and the girls of my customers if I am entertaining them), and then a max of only 300RMB. I have been told by my Chinese friends that 100RMB minimum, 200RMB average, and 300RMB if you had a good experience. Maybe I am being too cheep, but the girls never seem to get angry or complain. I will typically buy the Mamasan a drink, but I do not give anything to the waitress. Remember that this tip does not include any take out fee - if you want the girl to go to your room you will need to negotiate this deal separately. I have never been in a KTV were there was not at least some girls that were willing to go with you. You just need to specify that this is what you want with the Mamasan before you pick your girl, and she will steer you in the right direction.

Just like everything else, I think the key to good service it to become a regular customer at some bar/KTV. The first few times you go have your Chinese buddy look over the bill and make sure you were not cheated, but once the Mamasan recognizes that you will come back, and bring other potential customers, then she will never try to cheat you.

For specific KTV locations please search the forum as it is easier to find them by following directions rather than by address.

Escorts / Incall

You can find ads for “massages” in the local English magazine “That’s Beijing”. People who have called these numbers never report a truly positive experience. The only thing you can be sure about is that the girl in the picture will not be the girl that turns up at your door.

Street Scene

Girls can be found in various places around the city. You will also find mamsans who will tell you she has girls available. I cannot stress enough that you never want to follow anyone to see the girls. Have them bring the girls to you. These girls will be fresh off the farm, in experienced, and speak no English, but they will be cheep.

I have a trip to PEK coming up in a couple months. Last time I was there was a couple years ago and I did all my pulling from HJ Bean. Certainly used to be a good spot to to pick up a takeaway on a cold winter's evening but I don't think anybody in Beijing has been forced into celibacy by the demise of Henry's. Plenty of better alternatives as have just been set out in some detail this thread.

I have updated my Beijing Map Guide - lots of places have closed but until i absolutely confirm this has occurred i have left them in my guide with a closed comment. I have found two BBS near Lishilu Metro station . South Gate may have described them in an earlier post but his directions gave a long walk.

To get to the BBS you get off on the south west entrance for Lishilu on the south side of Fuxingmenwei Dajie. Walk west about 100 metres to the next major street Baiyun Ly (south side) and Sanlihelu Donglu ( north) There is a large grocery store, Chang'an market ,on the north east corner. Turn south down Baiyun and go under the overpass foot bridge. Turn left ( east) at the first street after the overpass. The BBS are about 50 metres in There sre three in a row but they are all connected at the back.

There were several girls available and a variety of services depending on your bargaining.The back room had a bed and was relatively clean given it is a BBS but bring your own wipes. No english but I made myself understood using terms found in the chinese word thread. I had a good full time, although a little rushed ,with a cutie from Hubie around 22 for 500rmb.

Thank you!I am sorry all the hotels I know that are girl friendly of are in the US$100+ range. You could try Holiday Inn Express at Shangdi - however i do not personally know if its girl friendly so you may need to take a chance.

I can't totally vouch for this place as I've never stayed there, but colleagues have. Try the Winterless Hotel (温特莱酒店, phone +86 10 65812288) at the corner of Dawang Lu and Guanghua Lu. I'd rate it a 3-4 star (from looking in the windows), its reasonably close to the center of things (a five minute taxi ride from Kerry Centre/China World, or 10 minutes to Maggies), and supposedly is girl friendly.

I believe rooms there should be about RMB 488 (~US$60) per night.

Another place you might try - but will need someone else on the forum here to give more details - is whatever hotel the Q Bar is in (the Q Bar is on the top floor). It's a pretty nondescript hotel, but gay friends in Beijing claim it is a notorious place for them to bring their dates, so can't imagine you'd have any problems bringing a girl in. It's near to Workers Stadium and Sanlitun, so again reasonably close to the action. The bar itself serves up awesome drinks, and I have even seen the odd working girl in there, although I wouldn't choose the place as my first stop for a mongering expedition.

Though cheap, I don’t think chain hotels like Home Inn are girl friendly, they have quite strict rules and sometimes even don’t accept foreigners (the one at Shuangjing bridge for example). You can try the following that should be within your budget (upper part): it is small service apartment. You have a bedroom, separate guest room, kitchen and bathroom for the price of a single room in other hotels (about 300-400RMB). And as it is apartment-like, I think it is no problem to bring in girls.

The address is about 200m west from Shuangjing Bridge (3rd ring) on the south side of the road. Or in Chinese:

Cheap hotels- I would go for Home Inn. Theres 2 I know of very close to sanlitun. Next door to the KunLun Hotel and also on DongZhiMen Wai. The DongZhiMen one is 2 minutes from DongZhiMen subway and also has a good snooker hall in the basement for legitimate entertainment. Theres been a mixed reaction as far as Girl Friendliness is concerned but I would personally lean towards the opinion of CrazyJim as opposed to Pier (no flame).

WuDaoKou- Depending on your social status, there shouldnt be a problem for scoring in WuDaoKou. Propaganda bar, is 50rmb all you can drink on wednesdays and is a live meat market. Note, beer is not included in this price, only spirits and mixers!!!!! As far as P4P play up there, Im not entirely sure, but the korean and japanese students sure make up for it.

But your Beginner's Guide and annotated maps have really cleared it up for me. I cannot thank you enough!

Unfortunately, the St. Regis is also A LOT more Starwood Points - Like more than twice as many as I used for the Sheraton, and more than I happen to have.

When I booked it, the Sheraton was a Category 3 (now it's a cat 4), and 5 nights cost me 28K points. The St. Regis is a Category 5 in peak season, and it would cost me 64K points for 5 nights. To me, spending an extra 36K SPG points is comparable to spending an extra $1100 for the privilege of staying there.

As for the St. Regis being a much better hotel, well, DUH! I would expect that a $450/night hotel would be A LOT better than a $200/night hotel in the same city owned by the same company. That's why it costs more than twice as much - either in dollars or in SPG points.

In some of the saunas, in Taiwan, Beijing and Shanghai, they seem to expect you to sleep overnight on the couchettes, though not in privacy. Your valuables are in the locker anyway, so no big deal. This seems to apply to sauna users in general, not just mongers.

There was some ridiculous price, like US$10 to use the spa, and you can spend the night in a couchette, overnight ferry style, in a large room with about 20 couchettes, all snoozing away. I think it was cheaper than staying in a youth hostel. Effectively it's a dorm bed in a spa!

So potentially you could turn up with a weekend bag, visit one sauna per night, and only check into a proper hotel if you want to get a take out. Plenty of laundrettes to refresh your clothes. Obviously you need to clarify it's not one of those per hour deals.

I tend to travel with a big suitcase, with some home comforts, but it is possible to leave the luggage with a hotel for a few days once you have stayed with them.

Probably end up with a load of backpackers living in spas from now on.

Unfortunately, the 3rd week in April in Beijing is no longer the off season. The Best rate I could find for the St. Regis during that week is over $500/night including taxes (4200 Yuan complete on the Starwood site, $458 + 15% tax and service on Expedia) the week I will be in Beijing. I think those Sub-$300 rates disappear by the 1st week in April.

For the difference between the Sheraton and the St. Regis, I could sleep in an upscale KTV with a very hot lady polishing my nob as I fade off to sleep.

In some of the saunas, in Taiwan, Beijing and Shanghai, they seem to expect you to sleep overnight on the couchettes, though not in privacy. Your valuables are in the locker anyway, so no big deal. This seems to apply to sauna users in general, not just mongers.

There was some ridiculous price, like US$10 to use the spa, and you can spend the night in a couchette, overnight ferry style, in a large room with about 20 couchettes, all snoozing away. I think it was cheaper than staying in a youth hostel. Effectively it's a dorm bed in a spa!

So potentially you could turn up with a weekend bag, visit one sauna per night, and only check into a proper hotel if you want to get a take out. Plenty of laundrettes to refresh your clothes. Obviously you need to clarify it's not one of those per hour deals.

I tend to travel with a big suitcase, with some home comforts, but it is possible to leave the luggage with a hotel for a few days once you have stayed with them.

Probably end up with a load of backpackers living in spas from now on.

However, you need to speak Chinese, and watch out for them nickel-and-diming you by adding fees, e.g., giving you the extra-fee pajamas or towels, when free ones are available, or putting a "room fee" on your bill that they didn't tell you about (better to clarify this upfront). The girls are of OK looks, with varying attitudes. I made friends with one who I've seen off-premises, she told me the whole neighborhood will be razed in June. FS starts at 400 (no BJ or anything special), 600 for something more (I did only the 400).

Unfortunately i have never found Japanese providers in Beijing. I have met some Japanese business women (normally translators) in various hotels in Beijing - but they are not providers.

I think you may find many of the Koreans in Hollywood are actually northern Chinese or from Russian (A lot of North Koreans went to St Petersburg during the Korean war). As for North Koreans, most North Koreans in China are illegal and they get out of beijing asap - but you will find them in shanghai. There are a few "legal" north Koreans which i have seen work in various Korean restaurants close to the north korean embassy, but i don't think they are providers. I have never met any South Korean providers in Beijing. Some chinese in Hollywood will say they are Korean, to add to the spice i suppose. I speak some Korean so can quickly determine if i am getting the run around.

I think if you want variety you may need to try HK or Singapore. Beijing is a Chinese, Mongolian and Russian provider town and is rather unique in all of asia.

I think that this is just another of the little scams against foreigners that China is famous for. Probably the locker room crew gets a part of the sales so it is not to their advantage to give in.

I see two possible alternatives. One bring your own PJ's - good for return visitors. Put them on and walk right by them.The second alternative is to walk out, refuse the PJ's go back to your locker and start getting dressed.

I don't like the Chun Xiu at all - it is too hit and miss as to both quality and cleanliness. I prefer the Regency down at Guamao It works out to about 400Y per category more but is worth the extra. I have tried the 1260 and 1560 service and there is another level available for 1860 . The main difference is the size and quality of the rooms. Red Rope service is available in the higher level rooms.

I went into Maggies a little too early last night and eventually ran into the legendary Zula. Apparently she had just spent 2 months in San Francisco with her sister and was very glad to be back. I'm very new to this game but have been in Beijing for a couple of years, I'm sure these places are all over, Everytime you see the characters Xi Yu? ! But if you can't speak mandarin, you can't get go. I can speak and I wanna find out some good Chinese places, not the places where lots of foreigners go like chun xiu? . Also the more upmarket places like number 8 and howard johnson, girls seem a bit stuck up and require alot of $$$, not that fun.

I prefer the Regency down at Guamao It works out to about 400Y per category more but is worth the extra. I have tried the 1260 and 1560 service and there is another level available for 1860 . The main difference is the size and quality of the rooms. Red Rope service is available in the higher level rooms.

i have been to maggies the last three days and maybe i have been to early but there really have not been a lot to pick from. i have stayed past midnight but perhaps the real stars arrive much later. i have had some of my best experiences in beijing with maggies girls.

if you are one of those guys who has to work early the next day this can be tough and i have found that hollywood which is just a walk away is much more reliable -- the odds are much more in your favor a lot more russian girls but there are a few mongolians as well in the corner of the bar.

I may have the name wrong as this is what the place was called a year or so ago then interest in it just dropped off on the board as newer saunas were featured.

The suana I will call it Regency ..until corrected ..is on the north east side of Dongsanhaunzhongu Lu (the 3rd Ring Road) which is directly across the road (east) from Trader's Hotel and China World TradeHotel/Plaza. You start on the North East corner at the China fashion Design Centre a tall building with a silver pointed top that several wags here refer to as "The Penis building".

Walk north about 150 metres or so and you see a yellowish brick building with a UBC Coffee shop. Immediately past that building the area appears to be under construction but keep looking to the right and you will see a large neon sign - may or not be lit - at the front of what used to be a hutong but is now under construction. The only building is a white hotel looking building with a KTV sign. Go to the centre doors where the door men are and indicate you want a massage. They show you a check in desk you leave your shoes and are given rubber thongs and then are taken into the sauna itself. The sauna is clean and PJ's are free.

Normal sauna procedures from there on in. After your shower sauna you are taken upstairs to a longe type area where you should indicate your interest in a full service massage. My mandarin is lousy but they certainly pick up on my hand signals and I have not been disappointed. At this point someone should explain the price schedule based on size of room etc.I am usually shown a lineup of three girls in evening dress and have always found one in the first three. What individual girls do vary and even a little English is rare. Again it would be good to speak Chinese to check who does what when checking out the girls. I don't want to get too specific in case it comes back to hurt the sauna.

The last time I was there ( last Thrsday) I took the 1260 option and the room was a single with no sitting area etc. The time before I took the middle price 1560or so and the room was much larger with a separate sitting area. there was no red rope in the small room but there was one in the large. I did not use it . It would probably help if you asked up front about availability and costs for the redrope and what girls do it.
