On my return trip, I decided to take a different route, mainly because I don't want to risk missing my flight from HK airport. There was also a RMB100 tax refund that HK government was paying anyone to take this route. When was the last time you were handed a 100rmb by just getting on a comfortable 40 min ferry ride?

Since you traveled basically "directly to your flight gate" on the ferry (having already completed all ticketing, immigration and custom requirements in Zhuhai) and ended up NOT using any of the HKG airport services/facilities - is this why they gave you back the inbuilt tax? Also, was it RMB 100 or HK$ 100?

BTW - besides taking a plane from GZ to HKG, there is also a DIRECT 2 hour train GZ East - HKG Hunghom - from which you can either take a bus to the airport or a taxi. You could also go on the CRH to SZ, RMB 24 Taxi to Huangang and then get on the direct airport bus from there.

But that 100 tax refund DOES sound good!!

But you're not supposed to pay this tax at all. APDT only applies if you're staying in HK for at least 24 hours, which as a connecting air passenger you're obviously not going to do.

That's why you can process a "refund" after you've checked-in airside, and get the HKD $120 back. That's the $120 you've just paid when you bought the ferry ticket. It has nothing to do with the APDT which might already been charged on your airline ticket.

The authorities know a significant portion of passengers will never process this refund, so they get "free" money this way.

I was in Guangzhou late Feb with the other half, and had a moment to myself. I was walking on JianShe LiuMaLu near the Garden Hotel when I heard "Hello Hello massage? Can you clarify a bit as I may also try the route suggested by others, landing in HK airport then head directly to ZhuHai by ferry for some suana action before heading further inland for action (landing in HK airport only but not staying in HK).

Thanks for detailed and useful info. I would pay for this "convenience fee" anytime of the day as I have been through the trouble of HK Custom, Airport Train, wait for Ferry at HK-Macau Ferry Terminal (7:30pm) with terrible bathroom. The trouble is that I can never make the 5pm airport ferry, nor do I know of any flight from US could land so early in the afternoon. If you cannot make the 5pm from the airport, then you also cannot make the 5:30 TST, so you end up with the 7:30 which will get you into ZH 8:30 and maybe too late for picking good ktv girls.

So better bet is to go to CP on arrival since you can get into CP by 7pm, but on departure, ZH is better because of the nice ferry with 100rmb refund.

For most business travellers, I think the ferry cost of 180 or 260 does not matter as those are typically paid for by the company, while the 100 free money is cash in your pocket.

it depends on how much money you have to blow. houjie is more expensive but the quality is better imho. you can't beat the ktv and sauna in the sheraton hotel. all in house, safe and easy to manage. there are still a few bbs in houjie but most have been closed up. the rest are rep001tered about and difficult to find.

cp on the other hand is cheaper but more dangerous and difficult to navigate for a newbie. bbs action is more concentrated. if you can find a resident wingman, eg. big swinging dave, it could be ok but i would not recommend going it alone.

Well, first let me say that Sansan is still working in Gz, despite what's been said here about police crackdowns. Her business card was posted previously in this thread, and that's where I got her mobile from. I won't post it again here, in case the mods don't like it.

Anyway, I think she speaks some basic english (don't know for sure, try yourself), and her girls go for 300rmb 1pop, 500rmb 2pops, plus taxi fare (Sansan said 20rmb to my place, and I live in city center). About the HJ massage place behind Dongfang Hotel in Renmin Lu (side street called Panfu Da Jie, to be precise), which was also posted here somewhere, I tried and the massage is crappy. A nice place I discovered about 1yr ago is the Tongtong hotel sauna, in Guangyuan Xi Lu, just behind the Huanshi Xi Lu train station. Facing the station, go left, pass Zhan Xi Lu (textile, shoes, watches markets) on your right, and turn right at the next crossroads, never crossing the main road, just follow the building on your right. That's Guangyuan Xi Lu. Now go straight for some 10 minutes, you can cross the road anytime, since the place is on the other side. You will pass first the Tong Tong Hotel, then after a few meters you will see the Tong Tong Sauna.

Now, here's the difference between this place and all the other massage+HJ places in Gz: here you get all your 90mins worth of massage, and a good one too. For my experience, any girl has reasonably good massage skills here, but the best is #91, who is also the teacher of all the other girls.

If you stick to Thai Massage (TaiShi), choose the free oil (instead of the 10rmb/bottle one, which is anyway quite good) and the fabric pyjama (instead of the paper one, 10rmb), the damage will be 138rmb. Also, you can get free foot massage in the main hall while you wait, before or after the 90mins massage.

I had actually used her out of desperation a year ago, and her service was good. She brought two girls over to a MacDonald next to my hotel and I took my time to pick the girl I like. No Chinese needed at Tang, in fact, most WG there don't speak Chinese; and all the Chinese who go to Tang (WG or not) speak good enough English.

As for BBS, Sauna or KTV, I have not had a reason to explore in GZ yet.

To find an impromptu WG in GZ ,best to just head over to Tang as you will always find something there. Kama bar was mostly empty until after 2am. Gypsy King is still closed.

If you have more time, better just head over to CP and you will then find everything and much cheaper.

Last time I went to their KTV and they basically gave me a KTV discount rate for the hotel rooms, like 50% off almost. But the newer rooms in the new wing are really quite extraordinary- almost like a W hotel decor. Very modern, new beds, fixtures and a nice 43 inch flat screen TV. The first night I made the mistake to stay in the old rooms, which was substandard, but the second night, staying at the new rooms felt very very nice!

Sorry, I don't think that they will send the line up to your room. But since you are going to be staying at the Sheraton, I would imagine it to be much more convenient for you to bring the girl upstairs from the KTV. From what I've seen Sheraton has a great line up, it's just that the girls there are a bit more spoiled because people who go to Sheraton are high rollers. However, once or twice a week they have a runway cat walk, where all the top model quality KTV girls there basically display themselves for all guys to choose and see who's pretty and who's hot! The girls on average are a good 8 and above in looks.

Enjoy yourself. Houjie can be a bit dangerous at night time though. Be sure to travel in groups if possible at night, as robberies or pickpockets are all around that area.

I don't know where you got the idea that Saunas are safer than BBS or even freelancers. Saunas in China do not check their chicks for STD's as far as I know. CFS is the smart choice in all situations outside a regular "GF" type setup. If you find a Sauna that checks periodically for STD any where in GD, please share with us.

Was in Guangzhou two weeks ago where I stayed for one day. I arrived to the city late at night on my way to Yiwu. A friend of mine suggested that I Stay at the Hutian Hotel located on 156 Dongfeng Road. It is a 3 star hotel that I would not recommend to any one but it was late at night and I was so tired and did not feel like looking for another hotel. so I checked in, and then decided to use their Sauna. To tell you the truth, I was so tired and only wanted to get a foot massage, so, that is what I asked for, the girl behind the desk kept suggesting that I need to get a full body massage and I was getting tempted but it seemed that all their clients were middle eastern men and I felt like an outsider. all of them were talking together as if they were in a private party, so I opted to settle for a foot massage and turn in for the night.

I must admit that some of the girls there looked amazing, So I may try the place again on my way home next week.

Depending on how often you travel to China, I would suggest that you find yourself a Chinese GF. Unlike their other Asian sisters, Chinese Girls are very loyal and demand so little once they fall in love with you. But try not to break any hearts pro. They can turn into feisty dragons in no time.

That place I went offered a steam room session before the clock start and it was wonderful, with the girl doing passionate BBBJ in the steam room and she was not in a hurry at all (remember this was before the clock start). Cost was 150 for the room for 1hr and 300 for the girl and they were mostly young (18-21) and pretty. I used to go to Foshan pretty regularly a few years ago when I had a little business there. Even then, it was a well known fact that this is the place where most Guangzhou businessmen as well High government officials go to to be "entertained."

They usually do NOT want to be seen going to such places in their own town and Foshan is close enough to GZ. PLus venues there were (are they still?) quite a bit cheaper than GZ.

Excellent sauna facilities - a lot were actually like little apartments with a separate living room where these guys could have their footsies and chat with each other, and then retire to their own respective bedrooms for F.S.
Very discreet, very nicely furnished and not expensive at all ( at least they were not then - approx 6 years ago).

Foshan - great little place for all sorts of activities - excepting that it IS one of the most highly polluted places in China (too many ceramic factories!) and quite a rough and tumble place (lots of illicit/undeclared traffic via its port area Nansha).

I live in Guangzhou since a few years an mostly hang out around Garden Hotel. Most easy way to find SW is the night club TANG about 5 min walk fm Garden hotel. The gals are often from Colombia or africa. Not the most attractive in my opinion. Opposite TANG you find CELLAR. More nice looking gals but not as aggresive as in TANG. You may need to look a little more.

However, I tried without succes to find Russian or ukrainian gals (or caucasian). Was lucky one year ago when I called for one from the many advertisement cards you receive walking on the steets. She was from Vladivostok and very nice. Later when I called various card suppliers, they always bring "real Russian gals from Colombia".

CAN somebody here tell me where to find these real Russian / ukrainian gals? There are plenty off them in the city but WHERE and HOW to reach them?

THere are sometimes russian ladies at CELLAR as well but they don't appear to be WG - since I am decent looking, generous and showing interest. For you who want a more fast track, I suggest TANG which is located opposite CELLAR. Most gals in this latter place are colombians, black but also chinese. Prices are normally 2000 for a hole night.

If you don't want to go out, you can use the business card companies. Normally they are reasonable good, but they don't always talk English. One hour/pop is around 300 RMB and all night 7-800 RMB - for chinese gals.

Just returned from a 1 week trip to Macau. Spent the first 1 night in Guangzhou. If you want a great hotel that is close to the airport in Guangzhou that has a Sauna with full service or take out to your room then I storngly recommend the HJ Grand Hotel. It is located on Yingbin Road (Northeast corner of Yingbin Rd. and Qinglian Rd) HuaDu District, Guangzhou. This district seems to be not affected by any trade show events that happen in Guangzhou. So the saunas operate as usual. You can either come in and use their facility/room or pick a from the line up and they mamasan will bring her to your room in the hotel. Quick point of ref. (If you have any friends in Guangzhou and they are locals, have them make you a reservation,it is half the price. Our room at this 5 star hotel was only $65USD. Great rooms but the beds were kind of hard.

The sauna is located in the basement floor. Usual set up with. Was greeted by the staff, they quickly called one of the English speaking managers. her name was Amy. Ask for her, she is very accomodating. Explained the menu and prices. Led us all into one room and called in 5 girls. She said that we are not happy with selection, she will call the next 5. After about 4 lineups, we called back 5 that she wrote down the numbers. My associates selected theirs and I choose one, name Coco.

Agreed with mamasan that she would bring her up in 30 minutes. It was the same price to bring her up to my room. I just liked my room set up much better. Because of the Canton fair, the prices were jacked. It was 800 rmb for 90 minutes. Expensive for China but we didn’t care since we were all tired and didn’t need to go anywhere else. The mamasan and the girl show up in about 40 minutes and a conversation starts between the two. She assured me that the girl understood everything and will please me with everything.

She leads me into the shower and washes me very thoroughly. On the bed, performs a very nice long BBBJ. After about 10 minutes, I slip on a condom and we proceed. it is great to see that some members of this forum take the time to do the research!

first of all, imho, guangzhou is not a great place to monger. if i were you, i would keep my money and bullets for cp.

clubs: i've not been to the clubs lately, but the freelancers tend to move around depending on where the punters are. tang is usually good but it is a late crowd. elephant can be a good spot for freebies if your pick-up skills are good.

saunas: victory is a good bet for sauna. it is foreigner friendly, straightforward and reasonably priced for fs. some english is spoken there, as well. sheraton is in houjie, dongguan and far from gz.

bbs: the bbs scene in gz has deteriorated over the years. most of the good shops have been shut. you can still find some shops open but they are rep001tered all over town and the quality is not so good. there is no real bbs area now.

hotels: the garden hotel is in the center of the sw area so not a bad option if that is what you are after. it is also within walking distance of many of the clubs you mention.

ktv: forget about them. they are expensive. many girls do not go out; sitting only. and, no fun by yourself. btw, sitting fees are only 200-300 rmb, some may be 500 rmb for models. not 1,000 rmb.

tips: it is not necessary to tip as much as you mention. most of the time, you just agree on the price and that is it. if you want to give them small money (20-50 rmb) for taxi fare, it is ok.

other: cantonese food is pretty good all over gz. try dim sum at the landmark hotel or similar. western food sucks everywhere outside of the 5 star hotels. shopping: you can try the wholesale market near the landmark. they have all the junk made in china cheap if that is what you are after. there is nothing to see in gz really, other than the sun yat zen memorial on dongfang lu and even that is not a must.

photography: it is ok to take photographs around town but i would urge you not to get caught taking any upskirt or down blouse shots. you certainly do not want to spend any time in a chinese jail. beijing lu might be a good location for people watching/shooting. if you want to take any direct shots of people, it may be wise to ask them first. if you are a foreigner, you will find that many locals will want to take a photo with you too.

Clubs: I've not been to the clubs lately, but the freelancers tend to move around depending on where the punters are. Tang is usually good but it is a late crowd. Elephant can be a good spot for freebies if your pick-up skills are good.

Food: Cantonese Food is pretty good all over GZ. Try Dim Sum at the Landmark Hotel or similar. Western food sucks everywhere outside of the 5 star hotels.

I'd strongly suggest you guys be a bit conservative and just stay a couple days in GZ, then go by the direct train to Hong Kong for 2 days (HK$230/190@ - details in that url below)), or go on the fast CRH train from GZ to Shenzhen, cross the border and then the MTR in Hong Kong (RMB 95(?) + HK$33),

Then book your trip to Shanghai or Beijing on Ctrip or at a Travel agent in Hong Kong (they usually are quite cheap and inventive on getting good pricing) which open loop to GZ a few hours before your trip back out.

There is really nothing to see in Guangzhou so just stay there for 1 day and then take a 3-hour bus ride down to Zhuhai in the morning and cross over to Macau. Eat some pork jerky and egg tarts and then look at the burnt down church (stroll through the racetrack if you're by yourself). Stay a night if you wish, then if money is no issue, take a helicopter ride over to Hong Kong (which will probably excite the crap out of the 10yr old) or the boring inexpensive way of taking a ferry over to HK.

Stay a few days in HK then fly to either BJ or SH. BJ for more of the historical sites (wall, nests, fish tank & palaces) or SH for the ooohs and ahhhs of tall buildings with shiny lights.

(I think its the one thats right ontop of the subway terminal) I was wondering if there were any recommendations or easy directions as to where I can go from there to have some fun.

I was staying at the China Hotel (Marriott) and needed to bust a nut so I went looking for some action. I found it at a massage parlor called the Leisure Center but it was very disappointing.

DIRECTIONS: Take a left out of the Marriott, walk past the Dong Fang hotel, and take a left at the first road you come to. It is a large six lane road named Renmin Lu that borders a large park called LuiHui Park so you can’t miss it.

Walk down approximately 300 yards, past a silver, futuristic-looking building that house the Guangdong Broadcast Center, continue past a restaurant with a couple dozen tanks holding every type of water create imaginable, until you hit Panfu Daiuju. Take a left at Panfu Daigu and it will be the second building on the left side of the street. The exterior walls are black and a young girl dressed in an evening gown is manning a podium outside the entrance. You can’t miss it.

By the way, across the street in the Sapphire Building is a big sign for another massage parlor on the second floor. I suspect it too offers full service but I didn’t go inside.

Once you walk in, you are escorted to a counter where you are given a elastic bracelet which is your locker key. This counter is also where you pay after you are finished.

You are then lead into a locker room, a male attendant puts your clothes away, gives you a towel, and directs you to the shower. You shower up and are given a pair of flimsy short pants and t-shirt. They charge you 10 rmb, which I thought was a cheesy way to nickel and dime you.

The mama-san was very nice but spoke very, very, very, very little English. This seemed to be a business geared for the Chinese locals. I was given a menu with set prices. The “Thai Message” for 368 RMB that is for full-service.

The mama-san walks you upstairs to an area of small rooms. Some rooms have massage tables; some have beds. “Thai massage” buyers are taken to a room with a bed. These rooms, by the way, do not have toilets so make sure you [CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140)/shit before you come upstairs.

After a few minutes, a girl shows up by herself. Not bad….but not awesome either. I send her away in hopes of getting something better but won’t leave. I signal again for her to go away and this time she leaves. But returns with the mama-san who hand signals that this is the only woman I can have.

I thought about leaving then and there, but she was okay (probably a 6 or 7) and I was horny so I accepted her.

Big mistake.

Guangzhou to Beijing (train or air) to Xian (air) to HK (via SZ by air) and back to Guangzhou by through train.

Flights are much cheaper if you buy tickets in China (Ctrip) and fly from Chinese cities rather than in and out of HK.

The train is not a bad way to see the countryside. Bring plenty of snacks to munch on. They have 4 pax sleeper cabins. You may want to buy an extra ticket so you have total privacy, however, if you roam around the train a bit you will be surprised how friendly the passengers will be. It will give you a chance to experience normal Chinese people away from the touristy stuff.

The only think to do in Guangzhou is eat (1 day). They have the best food in China at very reasonable prices. You need 2 days in Beijing, 1 day in Xian and 1-2 days in Hong Kong. This way you can fit in the train ride.

A little background. I'm an ABC that can speak Chinese fluently (I sound like a native when I speak pu tong hua) but my literacy is somewhat limited. I was on vacation on a trip involving hopping through a few cities throughout China and part of the fun I was planning to have was from the information I got from RTFF.

I had two experiences in Guangzhou. The first was at the hotel I stayed at, YiHe Hotel (416 HuanshiDong Road). The first floor has a massage parlor and the girls will sit in the hallway outside of it and from there they can see the patrons in the lobby and waiting for the elevator. If you even look like you might be interested in their services, they will ask if you want a massage.

Ask any taxi driver and they will all know. Seems to be the only reliable place late at night to find SW nowadays. Usually quality is poor, old and ugly, so it is a total hit or miss and mostly miss I would say, so I was just very lucky on that night.

My visit to GZ is finished. The weather was very lousy, almost raining every night when I was there. So I didn't really go out much for mongering.

Went to the Elephant & Castle one night. But soon after I arrived, rain began to pour down. So the place was very quiet, with a few foreigners and a couple of local young couples there all night.

You don't necessarily have to stay at the hotel to go to the sauna. I suspect that you will find staff at the Victory Sauna that can speak some English. They do get a fair amount of foreign trade there.

The price is around 500 RMB for FS. You should clarify that upfront but no need to negotiate. You pay on your way out.

Victory is the best bet for you. It may be difficult for you to find and manage other places without the language. You can buy real Viagra in most drug stores in Guangzhou. Stick with the chain store shops.

Klear00In my opinion and experience the best recommendation are clubs, the best choice I know is TANG club. There is a lot of gals there, Chinese who go to hotel with without any problem. Also you can meet other gals, last year we took from there 2 cute, 1 from Columbia and 1 from Venezuela.

I had notice a foot massage place in the hotel parking lot last time so I tried before my return to the sauna. Entirely veggie but she nicely loosened up all the knots in my shoulders.

I was looking to see if someone had a contact number for one of the WG's here in Guangzhou, because going out to one of the clubs alone didn't sound like a lot of fun. I thought about just calling a girl from craigslist, but that just screamed bad idea. You never know what you are getting until it shows up at your hotel apartments door and if she is scary everyone in the hotel probably knows where she was headed. That would make for some arkward moments later since I plan to be here for a year. I read the earlier posts and someone had a number but it was edited out of the post. If you are going to be living in GZ a year, you should get out and familiarize yourself with the scene. You will find many mongers in the clubs alone looking for the same thing as you are. It is much better to see what you are getting and negotiate first.

If you are concerned about taking working girls back to your place, there are hotels with ST rates all over town. It should cost you 100 RMB or less for 2-3 hours or the 7 Days Inn and other economy hotel chains offer good, clean rooms for around 150 RMB overnight.

CP is heaven and BSD can help you to navigate it. There are always a bunch of ISG members around in CP to hook-up with. That said, you will not find any S. Americans there.

Finally, I again urge you to RTFF where you will find everything you need to know.

Where do you arrive? Can you speak Chinese?

These 2 questions are important. If you are arriving at the airport, Victory Sauna is a bit of a hike. It could take you up to an hour to get there depending on the time of day. There are FS saunas in some of the smaller towns closer to the airport but without the language it could be difficult to navigate.

That said, if you are arriving at GZ East station by train, there are more options in TianHe district and you are much closer to the Victory sauna.

I reckon that a sauna is probably the best bet based on your time constraints. And, for only one experience, you have the best chance of being satisfied with the service.

if you have a car, you don't need to go down to CP, unless you like to go there for ktv with other ISG guys. There are plenty of good sauna places near GZ inside 30min that are better then those in CP, as these places are not accessible by taxi or ther public transportations.

I am very much into ktv so I do have to go to CP and ZH for that, when I come to GZ. My next trip is late Feb for 2 weeks, so love to hook up.

Stayed for 2 nights at the Garden Hotel and went out around 9 pm the first night to explore the bars around Huangshi Dong Lu. Actually everything is very convenient within walking distance. I first had a look into Elephant & Castle, but it was deserted. Then went to the Hill Bar, which is just across the street from the Garden Hotel. Nice bar, but RMB 45 for a draught beer is a bit steep. Had a chat with the only girl there and invited her for a drink. Her English was ok, nice personality and fun to chat with her. We agreed on RMB 500, went back to the hotel, registered her and to the room. Nice body, but nothing exceptional. After one pop, I gave her some taxi money and sent her home, as I had a meeting scheduled for early next morning and needed some rest. Got her phone number and will meet her again next time.

So I decided to take a trip to the Wa King Sauna. It is on the outskirts of Tienhe. Nice little place. Got out of the cab at the front of the hotel and there is a beautiful young lady standing at the entrance with a walkie talkie. I walk past her and go straight to the elevator because I know it is on the 3 Road floor. The girl from the entrance walks up to me and asks where am I going and I tell her the sauna. Elevator comes down and she presses the 3 Road floor button. I go to the third floor and walk out into a nice sauna area. The girl at the front desk welcomes me and asks what would I like. I tell her a massage (I wanted full service but I figured that I would tell them once I got into the room, later found out I should have told them first.)

I go into the locker room where the guy takes my clothes and put them in a locker and I get the towel and he points me to the shower. There are a couple of native Chinese taking a shower, so I find an empty stall and commence to scrubbing. After that I get the robe and head into the massage room. The massuese comes in and as I start to disrobe, she lets me know that she is only for massage. So I let her know (with hand signals, that I would like full service. Yes, I need to work on my Chinese, because there were not many English speakers in the place. Now I see why you guys said that Victory Garden is more foreigner friendly.)

So she goes out and looks for the hostess and they go to get someone for full service. So they get this little cute girl and tell her to take me upstairs. She is cute, but small. When she sees me, she is clearly worried that I am too big for her. I am instructed to go get dressed and follow this girl to the elevator. We go to the room and take a shower. Well, I am too big for her. So show calls down to the sauna and after she talks on the phone for a bit, they send someone else. I was about to leave because I was just looking for some fun and this was turning into the Iranian nuclear debate.

So they send up this girl, and I am glad I stayed. She couldn't speak English and I couldn't speak much Chinese but I was impressed. Just straight sex, no CBJ or BBBJ, but the sex was good.

All in all it would have been better if I understood and could communicate in Chinese or they in English. I saw some of the girls that were there and they were pretty cute. Will I return. MayB. The girl was cute and the sex was good, but that language barrier was a bit more than I had bargained for. Yes, I will work on my Chinese now. I have some incentives.

There are small towns with saunas within 15-20 mintues. Huadu is a good example. The saunas are probably open for overnight guests at 7:00AM but I doubt you will find any girls available at that time.

3 hours for international is too long; I never get there more than 1.5 hours ahead. 30 minutes works for domestic but you may need to go to a special lane to check in. 45 minutes is usually safe.

I don't have a car in GZ, so I have only been driven to such places by my friend who is local. Basically, GZ city does not allowed such establishment so they are usually lined around the city limits. When I go to GZ again end of Feb, I can ask my friend for the detailed location, if needed.

Wow, in GZ coming back from the paradise huh, definitely no GZ WG will be good enough for you to take home, man. But might still be a lot of fun to flirt with the regular office ladies in these bars. I found Friday is the day they come to places like Tang, or even Gypsy King, Cave bar. You can tell them apart easily as they usually dress really well with expensive hand bags. They usually speak good English as they work in international companies.

This is a general rule that everybody who stays beyond 11 pm has to register. Yes, I brought her back before 11, but anyhow I usually register the girls to be on the safe side, even the receptionist looked a little puzzled.

Thank you again for all the wise words, great information and tips. It's now my turn to enjoy the festivities, women and sights in Guangzhou. Said its my first time, I've RTFF many times over in order to make the most of my 3 days there.

I have not stayed at the Westin, but have been to the bar many many times. I was told this hotel (unlike other 5 stars in GZ) is completely girl friendly, you can bring them up any time of the night, even to bring two girls.

Problem is, it is hard to find quality in GZ. The bar (Q-bar) always fashion a few SW but they are usually older, but speaks good English, so if you are not picky, you can always have someone in your room.

As for girl-friendly hotel, I would recommend the President Hotel. It is a 3-star and on subway line and definitely girl-friendly. It has free internet. But if you are looking for no star, then I have no idea.

I went to Tang last Sat, and saw a stunner at the bar by herself. She was not like those typical WG in GZ bars, whom I wouldn’t do even if she pays me to. There were many pretty women but they were all in groups and they never laid eyes on me.

I then went back to Tang to find out what happened to my beloved Shanghai girl, and sure enough, she was now with a tall and handsome white guy. I found a seat near by to watch the new couple, and pretty soon they took their drinks and headed off somewhere.

Yes, converstation completely in English, which was why they would still talk to me.

What you said about ABC in Shanghai is also true. There are these English speaking Chinese WGs working in bars, and then there are all the other venues with the rest of the girls in China, which is a much bigger pool.

For BBS, Sauna, KTV, being ABC is perfect. Unfortunely, GZ has very little of those, especially if you are a busy business person, so going to bars would be usually the only choice.

I searched and found only one brief post on this way back in 07, with no details, so I will report what I found.

To find out how to get there (三茂), you can search "Sanmao" and find the original post, but it is just right next to Garden hotel.

I went during lunch, as I don't really have time to go to Sauna otherwise. I can understand there would be very few gilrs to pick from but the 3rd girl they sent was ok, considering we were in the center of town and in the middle of the day. More girls would be available after 8pm but then there would also be more customers and thus a longer wait (thus no Sauna for me, generally).

The cost was 237 with a decent massage and a HJ. There is no FS on the menu, since we are in GZ city center, but things such as BJ would be possible if you bring cash in (after stripped naked in the locker room). She said people usually put cash inside cigarette cartons. Once you have access to cash inside the massage room, then you may discuss extra services. I didnt prepare for such, so didnt actually do this myself. I did bring in my watch so I know they have a separate saftybox and key for such things during shower.

Certainly younger white guys will have the best chances, while being on the opposite side of the spectrum(older, and Chinese, myself included) will have the hardest time, but nevertheless, it is the challenge and the process that make hunting girls in clubs so much more fun. If you don’t want care about the process, just want the end game, then go to a sauna, where you have what you wanted within 5 min. I have reported earlier that this can be easily found in GZ as well, inside the city, even right next to Garden Hotel.

If you do get to stay in that hotel (very popular and difficult to find room), maybe you can check out their sauna. I had not tried as I prefer bar hunting, but I did see a sexy looking display on the lobby.

As I suggested in another post, always bring in some cash, like hide in your cellphone case, just in case the legit sauna might actually offer extra services if you have the case with you, on your supposedly naked body.

Have been to some smaller spas before in Guangzhou, but never gotten more than a HE. New to the "scene" here, but i've spent some time in Guangzhou.

So, went to a place close to the one mentioned in my previous post yesterday. Didn't hope for much, since all my visits to massage/sauna places so far have been a bit. Meh.

Anyway, arrived around 6pm and stepped in, looked like any other spa I've been to, at the front desk they asked if I wanted a massage,

-Yeah, full body massage was my reply. OK elevator down to G-1 floor.

Guided into one of those rooms where you undress, shower. Sit in the sauna for a while, I suppose all you guys know what I mean.

After about 20 mins in the sauna, I went out to the seating area (the one with nice comfy chairs, a flat-screen TV and people asking you if you want a foot massage every two minutes. You know what I mean)

It didn't take long to see who was in charge of "ordering" so I waived her over.

This is where it stopped being like "all those other spa's I've been to. "

She was very straight forward when asking me what I wanted, and wrote down the prices for me.

188RMB for a normal Chinese massage with HE, 388 for FS, and 438 for FS with something called "fire and ice" and "breast massage" (correct word for this anyone?)

If I hadn't spent some time reading this forum, I wouldn't know what she meant by fire and ice, but I had an idea after reading some reports here, so the choice wasn't really that hard.

So I told her I want the 438RMB one, she nodded and asked me to wait.

After about 5 minutes she came back and told me to come with her.

GIRL NUMBER ONE:

Walked in to the room area, and she guided me in to one of the rooms.

On with the service.

Good point, I double that, usually 10 or 20. Only in KTV room in GZ that you need to tip that much to a server (DJ or whatever).

I BELIEVE that the maximum amount of withdrawal can be varied by your instructions to the bank. At least that is what I did and told them how much is my daily withdrawal limit.

Paddy will have more people earlier as most office people go there after work. Maybe no WG that early but you may want to pick up freebies? Almost everybody at Paddy will speak English.

For Tang, no body will be there that early, has to be at least 10pm. As for Kama, definitely nobody, best to be after 1AM.

Cabs in cities will all just wait outside such clubs at night as there are no other places to find business. If a club has no cab outside at night, it means only one thing, that it has been closed down!

Please report on what you find around that area. I am sure that hotel has a legit sauna, and as I pointed out in another post, you need to prepare with cash on you so that if you like the girl and want more, you can negociate and pay her directly, as I think most hotels inside the city only provide "veggie" services on the book. Not that they are not very relaxing, they usually are, especially when you pay for extra hours, typically will have tougue licking full body etc, still considered veggie.

As far as I remember, any 4 star or above usually had a 110v socket, in the bathroom. Other wise, 99% of laptops made in the last 5 years are 110/220 compatible. just read the big block of power supply see if its got the 220v sign. or 210v etc.

However, when I was in ShenZhen and GuangZhou (Victory Hotel) last week, they didn't work. I went to Junglemill then typed in the ISG URL and the result was that I was redirected to some other website/page (I forget the name of it, but something about Linux and webhosting, I think).

I should have gotten a trace of of the HTTP traffic, but didn't because I was in a hurry. I am wondering if (some of) the Chinese DNS servers are overriding all requests to junglemill (and other such proxy sites) to return a 'false' junglemill homepage to the user, then intercepting the requests sent to false junglemill homepage to see if the requested URL is on a banned list. When I tried to go to http://www.google.com using Junglemill I also had some problem.


You might want to consider having a backup list of some public DNS Servers, then custom-configure the DNS entries on your laptop Network Configuration (do not use the Automatic DNS configuration), then go to junglemill to see if you then get the REAL junglemill website and can then get to ISG. Search internet for "public dns server".

Here are a couple public DNS servers to try:

Most (all!?) Laptop power supplies today support both 110/220 volt, and 50/60 Hz electricity.

Look at your Laptop power adapter. Mine says: "INPUT: 100 - 240V, 50-60 Hz", so it works all around the world.

However, sometimes in China (and always in Hong Kong), I have to get a prong-adapter which changes the shape of the metal prongs.

I'd recommend that anybody contemplating using VPN's/proxy servers, that they must first read Zhuren's excellent write-up on its pitfalls.... of which there are many!!

Also, proxy servers "go up and down" all the time, and one needs to always get new ones to replace one that goes down/become inaccessbile. To do this, you should Google or Baidu "free proxy servers" and you will be directed to sites which lists out literally hundreds of Proxy web sites for you to choose and try.

But be very careful NOT to use proxies etc to access sites requiring your personal info. just IMHO

I was recently at the Victory Hotel (on Shamian Island of Guangzhou). Note that this hotel was mostly forced upon me to stay there, due to business obligations.

First thing to know is the hotel as East and West buildings that are seperated by about 150 meters and are quite different. There is a lot of construction happening in the area, and there are a big number of married western couples who come here to adopt Chinese babies, so it's more of a quiet family-friendly place, and not much action for monger.

The hotel staff speak English. The hotel is likely NOT girl-friendly. You MUST use your hotel card-key to activate the lift/elevator, and you also MUST have your card-key placed in the door/light/airconditioning recepticle (usually I put a business card into this recepticle, but this 'trick' does not work at this hotel and you MUST use your real cardkey).

If you need to stay near to this area, I suggest may be try the "Holiday Inn ShiFu" (LiWan district of Guangzhou) is a better choice of hotel. It has many more restaurants and shopping very near by. I do not know if Holiday Inn ShiFu is girlfriendly or not.

Holiday Inn Shifu is about 560 RMB; Victory about 400 RMB.

Or, may be it is best to stay near to the Garden Hotel area (Huanshi district) to pick up on streetwalkers, bar girls, etc!

If you have a problem, most hotels (including Victory Hotel!) will have a TYPE I prong adapter, and/or a voltage adapter if you call the front desk.

Guangzhou is not a good place, IMO, so I hate to be posting about a potential very small BBS, but I'm sharing it if in case some monger finds himself near Victory Hotel (or Holiday Inn Shifu hotel) and desires BBS action.

Directions (from East wing of Victory Hotel). Starting at Victory Hotel (WEST wing), when you leave the hotel you will see a Bank/ATM (ICBC?), turn to your right, then walk straight about 40 meters and walk across/above the water/canal. Then, turn to your RIGHT and walk about 40 meters to the nearest sky-bridge.

Directions, continued: Use the skybridge to cross the busy 4-6 lane road. At the end of the skybridge turn LEFT. Walk about 2 blocks and you will come to ZhuJi Lu/road. Turn right. Walk about 6-7 blocks. You will see HePing Lu crossing in front of you. Keep walking straight on ZhuJi Lu about 1-2 more blocks. The BBS will be on your RIGHT.

It's a small place. I walked by about 4pm and there were only about 4 girls sitting there. Hard to know about quality and price as I was with a business obligation and could NOT stop and say "ni hao" to the girls to find out price, etc.

Both the Garden Hotel and Kaying hotel are relatively near to each other, the difference is not much for distance and subway location. Kaying is about 1/2 mile (1km) closer to Pazhou than the Garden Hotel. Both are near to the subway which you can use to get to Pazhou.

All 3 are fairly far away from Pazhou Exhibition Center. I would say that Kaying is closest, then Garden Hotel is 2nd closest, then Victory Hotel is farthest.

I am posting a map of all 3 hotels. On the Map I highlighted White Swan (this is 3 blocks from the Victory Hotel, so substitute White Swan in lieu of the Victory Hotel) and you will have a good idea of the location of all 3 hotels.

If by chance you cannot download the JPG/Map that I'm posting, then all I can say is you should pay Jackson a member fee so that you get full access to ISG (you will also get access to email/messaging to talk on the back-channel to seasoned veterans who sometimes to not always post/respond publicly!).

You have got to be kidding me. Translations for these can be found anywhere on the internet. Using Google Translate you get:

Sauna: 桑拿 (sang1 na2)

If by spa you mean those places with the hot springs and stuff thats as follows:

Spa: 温泉 (wen1 quan2)

For a sauna that doesn't offer sex, you say 桑拿. If you ask for a 温泉, people will probably tell you there aren't any unless there are hot springs near by.

I was recently at the Victory Hotel (on Shamian Island of Guangzhou). Note that this hotel was mostly forced upon me to stay there, due to business obligations.

First thing to know is the hotel as East and West buildings that are seperated by about 150 meters and are quite different. There is a lot of construction happening in the area, and there are a big number of married western couples who come here to adopt Chinese babies, so it's more of a quiet family-friendly place, and not much action for monger.

The hotel staff speak English. The hotel is likely NOT girl-friendly. You MUST use your hotel card-key to activate the lift/elevator, and you also MUST have your card-key placed in the door/light/airconditioning recepticle (usually I put a business card into this recepticle, but this 'trick' does not work at this hotel and you MUST use your real cardkey).

I did not have monger time, due to business obligation, and barely had free time to try the Yu Long Sauna, but here is my experience at the sauna.

I agreed to the 300 RMB (298 RMB, acutally) massage service. I was taken to a locker room, changed out of my clothes and given a pair of disposable short to wear, then went for a shower. The male attendant then took me to the footie massage area and said I could add a footie for about 48 RMB. I declined the footie, but they tried to upsell it to me 3-4 times. I declined.

Next, the attendant/manager takes me to a room to meet a girl. She says she is mid 20's, from Chongqing, looks OK, but not great (a '5' on 1-10 scale), but I do not have much time to waste, so I take her.

She begins the massage, and we do some talking. Eventually, she massages around my ass and tickling my balls (I am laying on my stomach). She asks me to flip over, so I do. And she's tickling me. We then agree to FS for 250 RMB (300 massage + 250 FS = 550 RMB total).

She starts with Fire/Ice CBJ, Cowgirl, then we do doggie, then more cowgirl. I then take off the condom, and tell her I want BBBJ, which she does. Then, the good part for me is when I CIM. She did not like the CIM, and pulled her mouth away from me. Oh well, it still felt good, especially because I was in a hurry.

After, I took 1 more shower, changed clothes, put up with the locker-room attendants asking for tips. Final bill was 550 RMB + 15 RMB (for mandatory underwear disposal/cleaning fee!). Total 565 RMB.

When I was at the cashier, there was an (50's) asian man/woman couple (Chinese, I think?) in front of me paying their sauna/spa bill of 2200 RMB (the money counter counted 22 of the 100 RMB notes!). I was wondering how in the hell they can spend 2200 RMB when mine was only 565 RMB! Yes, there is a SPA/HotTub service, and other service available here, but my gosh 2200 RMB!

Overall, I do NOT recommend this hotel or area for monger experience. Near by is the White Swan hotel (1/4 mile; 1/2 km walk), but I do not know if that is any good or not (I suspect it is also not a good place).

If you need to stay near to this area, I suggest may be try the "Holiday Inn ShiFu" (LiWan district of Guangzhou) is a better choice of hotel. It has many more restaurants and shopping very near by. I do not know if Holiday Inn ShiFu is girlfriendly or not.

Holiday Inn Shifu is about 560 RMB; Victory about 400 RMB.

Or, may be it is best to stay near to the Garden Hotel area (Huanshi district) to pick up on streetwalkers, bar girls, etc!

There does not seem to be much action on Shamian Island, IMO (but I had not time to explore, due to business obligations!).

DarWith regard to the Guangdong Victory Hotel, my experience getting action was ok.

The hotel seemed pretty girl friendly to me. I had a pro from outside stay with me for two nights and no problems. She didn't register or anything. I wouldn't come and go very late so no big deal. Just remember you have to come back early enough in the evening to avoid registration. Plus the hotel staff saw me with her in the main lobby, and we acted like the normal tourists we were.

Also, the sauna in the basement was pretty decent in my experience. I tried it twice and it was your typical sauna. Facilities were not bad, free cheap noodles and beverages included, smoke, watch tv, and relax as long as you want. At 648rmb all in, a little expensive for south China but not out of line. BTW, I didn't notice anyone holding their hand out for tips. I didn't tip and didn't feel they were expecting one either. They certainly welcomed me back as I left.

There are definitely pros walking freelance on the island. Go out mid to late evening and I can assure you there are SW's out there walking Shamian Island. They are very friendly and welcoming! Hahahaha! Probably because they service all the people who stay for legit business or adopting kids. I didn't try and didn't ask, was with a colleague.

The hair salon in the hotel right across from the front desk was open for business, and the girls there were pretty obviously WG's. I tried one. I quickly negotiated 400rmb ST FS. Sorry guys, I was being self conscious with all the legit people walking around in the lobby with the front desk less than 50ft away.

After hours, they do have a very tight lockdown on the hotel. So once they start watching the doors (sorry don't remember the hour), you are screwed if you want to bring a pro from outside back to your room. You are only left with the hair salon girls or you have to visit the sauna in the basement, which BTW, you have to access from outside on the side of the hotel.

Quotes from 4 star BBS girls are always ridiculous since they have access to too many lazy BSD with deep pockets and no brains that actually agree since they are looking for convenience in the safety of their hotels. That said, you can usually negotiate 400-600 for FS. Just don't appear too desperate and pretend you could take it or leave it. They make almost nothing from the massage fee you pay without extra service.

I totally agree with you in this point. I am only wondering if the high entrance quotation pays them. From my POV they could earn much more if they would start from the lower demanding level. But,. As you said, they are probably used to getting this charge from this lazy BSD who don't care about the rates because usually they are not mongers but just a one-time shooters.

I'm going to be there in 1, 5 week (if receive permission from the islandic volcano) so I'll try to check my negotiations ability with them.
