Last month, I was at Marriott Puxi. Everytime I went back to the hotel at night, there were two girls looking for action with there was papasan soliciting for them. You lie down on a table that looks like a massage table and the person doing it first hoses you down then pours a powder solution on you and rubs it over your body. This solution, which comes in a pre-packaged pouch, contains salt and some other stuff that's supposed to be good for your skin. Then they pour milk on you, either directly on top of the solution on your body or after hosing you off with water. It's all supposed to be good for your skin but I didn't notice any difference. It's painless.
This is all done in the public shower area, like where the guy gives you that scrub bath using a towel or special exfoliating mitt. This "cuo1 zao3" (lit."rub with the hands shower") can be a little painful but you can really feel that your skin is much smoother afterward. I was desperate for some fresh meat after a very boring morning so I decided to take an extended lunch break and went to try out Merrylin Sauna.
The newly renovated hardware is on par with Bodi, well, that is not surprising considering it is now owned by the same guy who owns Bodi / 999 / Southern / Waves and a bunch of other places, talk about corporate expansion.
So expect the same type of service and management SOP from Bodi / 999 and their sister stores, except the televisions have been removed from the massage rooms.
I got there about 1PM and I was afraid I might have arrived too early, but the waiter in the locker room disagreed.
I think I only saw two other customers for the 2 hours I was there.
I did not spend much time with the shower / spa area because I didn't have the whole afternoon to spare.
So I quickly showered and moved on to get a robe and was led to a lounge with 4 chairs.
I don't know why but I waited about 25 minutes in the lounge.
I assume it is because the ladies haven't showed up yet.
Frankly I was not impressed by the lineup. I think I only saw 5 or 6 girls, and there was another customer right behind me so I quickly picked the only one I liked.

Went to 999 around 1:30 PM yesterday.
It was already busy, they nearly ran out of rooms.

I ve been back to hailang after after while yesterday. Got there around 1am. Had to pay upfront since it was late they said, but when I got off the building I saw dudes paying. All the ads from craigslist and other pages. First check the picture with google search to find out, if it can be real, than put all phone numbers in a database, so I can see if the number is used for different ads. Than later my Chinese friend call and met them to find out if they look like the picture. Till now I checked 487 "private" ads. The result: around 50 pictures I could not find the "real" source, more than 430 I could find out, where they have stolen the picture. But I guess at least 150 of them say very clear: 100% real picture, it is me and so on! My friend than call all the numbers (she reached around 300 till now) and about 10 are real independend girls, the others all are agencies. Than she try to meet the girls, only 5 meet her (so I think rest also agents). Not even one looked like the picture (even they told her on phone it`s real). I also checked all the pictures from around 30 Escort agencies in the web, half of them tell you the picture are for sure real, but not even from one of this agencies I did not find the japanese page where they have stolen the pictures!
So I think situation is like that:
1) If you contact massage or escort you find in the web, you will get a agent in 98% of all cases.
2) Agency will offer you 300 for a massage, than later "upgrade" to at least 1000, most time 2000-3000.
3) They will normaly not send any beautiful girl to your place.
4) If you are lucky and you find a real independent girl, this girl will be much more attractive, but she will charge at least 2000 for a short time job.
4) You have a 0. 0 chance to get the girl from the picture, whatever the description or the phone contact will tell you about it!
So first forget you will ever get what you see on any picture. No chance for it! And most time the ladies also will be not beautiful at all. Second, don`t believe any fixed price. If the Ladies come, they will start upselling. There are so many nice girls you can find in the bars, in Manhattan or in KTVs and they will stay the night with you for less than 2000, but ALL ways to find this girls on the Internet don`t work. So I think the best way to get what you are looking for is to go out and catch some for yourself or go to a Sauna.
Home delivery service is not a serious business in Shanghai at the moment.

There use to be many sauna in Shanghai 10 yr ago that offer Red rope, did you experience this before or you just heard about it from this site, I am not a big fan on this and I have red rope many time before and Hailong use to offer this long time ago, they didn't offer it last time I was there 2 month ago and don't think any place in Shanghai still offer this.

Any advice?Answering advertising is pretty much a crap shoot. You could get lucky and get a newbie to the business, but not likely. The upsell is all to common. They figure you will think with your little head and you will just pay whatever outrageous overcharge they want.
At BBS and Massage shops you have to go in knowing the prices and very much act like you know what you are doing. Not knowing any Mandarin will go against you unless you know what you are doing. Go with someone experienced to show you the ropes or read ISG and get a ton of info before venturing out.
Don't' pre-pay, the girl will "screw you" not the other way around. If you know the prices, don't overpay because then they know you are a sucker and you won't get good service.

Haven't been in Shanghai for a while so followed the good advice of those on this board and made my way to Bodi within hours of arriving at the airport. Well I pretty much knew what was happening pretty quickly, but for some foolish reason I played along to the endgame. I was drinking a beer outside at Paulaner yesterday evening when a very cute girl walking by caught my eye and smiled and waved. Probably I didn't think there was really that much danger, and as it turns out there wasn't, but in retrospect I could easily have had my ass kicked (I'm a lover. Not a fighter!).

BTW Also met a very lovely, sweet and sensual Cambodian girl at Manhattan the first night in town. She was truly special. Well, turns out my karaoke scam experience had a happy ending. I don't speak or write a word of Chinese and the employees don't speak English but that didn't present a problem. When you enter into the hotel walk over the elevator and go to the third floor. When the door opens on the third floor you'll see what looks like a hotel check-in. There will be one or two young guys to greet you was you step off. The first time I just said '880 service. '
One of the guys led me to the locker room area where I stripped, was give some shower shoes and led to the shower area. (The locks on the lockers are controlled by computer keys. You're given the plastic key which you can wear around your wrist.)
After the shower you'll be led to the sauna-hot tub areas which is only a few feet to the left. I spent about 10 minutes in each. You can spend more time or skip it altogether.
After leaving the sauna-hot tub area, you'll be taken to a room and instructed to lie down on a mat. A guy will scrub your body getting off the loose skin. (At this point I was wondering if they understood what service I wanted. He worked on me for about ten minutes. I didn't know it at the time but there was an extra 68 Yuan charge for this. After the first visit I declined the body scrub. I had to tell them many times I didn't want it but they finally got the idea.) After this it you'll go back to the shower. The two hotties I selected happened to be "volunteered" from Xinyuping. I've never heard of Xinyuping, but the girls' description of the place got me really excited.

I have spent some time in the Gubei Lu area. There are some BBS on Maotai Lu (intersects with Gubei Lu) where the Brawway hotel is located. I have had some happy endings in some of them in the past. And so on, to:
Prepay 10000. 5, you are charged 50% of the price on the menu card!
Wth full body oil massage priced on the card at 298 for 90 minutes, considering the pleasant ambiance, a good deal for this area.
Rooms are as nice as any five star hotel room in town, including a shower and western w. See, important to some of us! .

This is a Sauna near the Sheraton Hongqiao. There is a guy sitting on a chair at the door. He lets you right in. I went inside and went downstairs. Is there any other kind of Sauna place than the one for us mongers? I mean are some legit? It would have been a bummer to get my courage up, go in and get a normal massage.
What can you experts tell me? When do you know you have hit paydirt? Does one need to take it for the team to figure it out?
This is a Sauna near the Sheraton Hongqiao. There is a guy sitting on a chair at the door. He lets you right in. I went inside and went downstairs. They met me at the door and escorted me to the locker room. On the way back there, there was a 50ish year old Chinese gentleman sitting on a chair next to a hot spinner in a black miniskirt. I was just checking the place out and am not a sauna guy. As I said, I have a Chinese girlfriend and right now the freebies wear me out.
I thought I might get to see the girls but like all reports, I guess that comes after. I turned around and headed out at that point but it looked promising. Nice! Thanks for the heads up. Can you comment on the decor and whether the place offers some security (ie: staff on stake out, maze like hallways) against LE raid.The decor is not modern but the room is maze like passing a few locked doors.
I just realized that I didn't post the cost. It's 800 for 60 minutes with two girls. I think you can have two pops if you like. I was having too much fun making them play with each other. I was at Bodi yesterday, my first visit to a Chinese sauna. Place is very fresh!
The lineup of about 20 girls composed of about 5 above average, of which 586 was the prettiest. Very cute girl, I would say about 18 years of age, slim, great pert tits luverly nipples, very cute face.

ThanksMost Saunas will close at 1am, some also will be open up to 2 or 3 am, but no 24 hours service.
For the "popular" sauna locations.
Feng Ding close 2 pm, also golden 18 (but 18 still closed) , He Yuan, Bodi and Hai Lang close 3 am,
You can find a lot of Sauna places in the city center, but also.
In Pudong or outside areas you will have a full service Sauna not far away.
