Rural Georgia, Alabama and Texas is poor. Larger cities are much better.
My experience in China is only in Shanghai and I have someone who can research, online, which doctor is working where and when. It's all in Chinese.

Being at the first place last night for the first time, found the place easily thanks to the directions posted in this forum. The place is very neat, I would never imagined they provide such a service in a similar premises, it looks like an upscale massage place. BGI know it is not easy to find the information in the forum related to a area, so here some "starter" information:
There are several ways to have fun in Pudong, but the airport is a little bit outside, so you have to go inside the center of Pudong.
First there are several sauna locations in Pudong. You can find some of them on this map:

There isn't a Radisson near the Pudong airport but there is a Ramada. If you are at the Radisson Blu Century Park then you are short taxi rides from several places mentioned on the board: Bodi and Longhao being the closest though Longhao is a bit shabby plus all the BBS places between Long Yang Lu and Century Park. You could also do Siyuan but I would not attempt that during rush hours because an off peak taxi ride of 10-15 minutes could be an hour.
You really don't state what you are looking for either. BBS? Bar girls? Massage with extra? Full service sauna?

This seemed like a total scam to me since the MagLev from the airport was only 50 RMB. So if anyone can tell me what the expect cab fare is to Bodi Hotel from the Maglev station, I'd appreciate it for the next time.
Anyway, after that recurrent frustration, I ended up going to the Korean Massage place right across the street. The massage was quite good, including the hot stones, but there was no HE. Additionally, they charged an extra 100 RMB for the oil and the total damage for 100 minutes with tea was 508 RMB.

LDMost taxi drivers here cannot comprehend an exact address, you will have substantially better luck telling them the cross streets or calling the hotel and have them explain directions to the driver. The distance from Longyang Road Station to Bodi is less than 5km, so you're right, RMB100 was definitely a rip-off (should have been approximately RMB20).

The reason the a holes told you they didn't know where it was is because it was such a small fare they didn't want to get out of line for it. I would amend my post by suggesting that you leave the station and walk to somewhere you can just flag a taxi on Longyuan St. If they are lost, point towards Puxi and say "that way" and then you'll see the big black shiny building with the red neon all over it on the right after about 5 minutes.

The reason the a holes told you they didn't know where it was is because it was such a small fare they didn't want to get out of line for it. I would amend my post by suggesting that you leave the station and walk to somewhere you can just flag a taxi on Longyuan St. If they are lost, point towards Puxi and say "that way" and then you'll see the big black shiny building with the red neon all over it on the right after about 5 minutes.Just like to add one point: Do Not take the Red or Dark blue or Dark red color taxis, most of these are privately owned and you will be ripped off. On top of that, most of these drivers have bad attitude and are very rude.
You are safer with the the Zhong (light blue) or Ba Shi / qiang sheng (light green or yellow) color ones.

The regular fare from Longyang Station to Bodi should never exceed 20 RMB even during rush hour.
And this is being generous, the minimal fare is like 14 RMB, I think is around 15~16RMB most of the time.

Last week in Beijing went to an old and famous Wanjing based HE place, one of the little sure things remaining in the capital after the recent crack downs. When I mentioned to my long term service provider I was going to SH she asked me a favour. She wanted for herself and a friend find a place in SH to work in a similar set-up. First of all, my thanks to the contributors of the Forum. I've read all of this thread (and it's long!) and now I have alot of information (in theory) on how to move in shanghai.
However, I would need an advice from you experts because I'm not sure on which would be the best plan for my next trip. Budget it's not a concern (this does not mean infinite money.) because my travels abroad for business are very very rare so in such occasions my goal is to have a good experience and not to spare some RMB / USD. I indulge in that maybe once or twice per year so, as said, I do prefer to go for a "sure shot" and not be disappointed. I don't want to sound too proud / rude, just saying thing as they are.
Now, the question. I will fly to shangai from spain and I will be there on dec 27, late evening (around 21:00). The day after I will leave shanghai to go mainland China for business for some days. So, I will probably sleep in one of the hotels near pudong airport. Is there any decent activity there?
My plan so far, reading the forums, would be to go to the bodi via maglev+taxi that evening. EdmndHere's an idea. STAY at the Bodi Hotel. The maglev is running at 21:00 and if it's not running when you leave, take a cab to the airport for 120RMB. The hotel is actually quite modern and interesting. Then you can just walk out the front door, turn right and go 10 meters and into the next door.
I don't' know the hours but I'm sure the sauna is open past midnight.

And at that hour, you don't get great choices, and the girls are tired, so service may be subpar. You didn't say when you would leave Shanghai (BTW technically Shanghai is part of mainland China. But if you can go to sauna around 1 pm or 2 pm, when they open, in my opinion that's the best time to go.

Just went to SiYuan today. Quite disappointed.
Entered around 5PM, waited 20 minutes to get a backrub.
Got upsold for a pedicure and additional back massage, by the time I got my watch back on it was already 6:25.
Proceeded to the lounge, waited for another 15 minutes.
The lineup had 20+ girls, but the quality of the lineup is subpar. At least it was a lot worse than my previous visit during August.

I stayed in Eton Hotel recently and decided to check the area nearby. Behind the hotel, on Changyi Road there are some massage parlours and placed that look like girlie bars. I was walking the other side of the road and the ladies would yell over the road whether I needed a Chinese girlfriend. I rather like those places that have no touts.
So I walked into a small quiet massage parlour on the end of Dongfang Road (when you walk from Pudong Avenue past Changyi Road, it is on the righthand side of Dongfang Road).
I was shown the menu and picked a full body massage for 300 RMB, and the girl said for a tip I a HJ was included. I was too tired for FS and too lazy to look further so I gave it a try. I speak some Chinese so I am sure we agreed on a tip of 50 RMB. After the HJ (which was ok) she told me she wanted a tip of 500. As a precaution, my wallet was empty save 400 RMB, no cards, no I'd, so after some haggling (and me reiterating that I had understood 50, not 500) and telling her to give me her phone number she didn't make a fuzz and I left without trouble.
So to make a short story shorter: If you are in need near Eton hotel, do avoid that place.I'll be staying at the Eton Hotel soon.
The above report makes me wary of trying the massage parlors just north of the hotel.

Been living in Shanghai for a few months now and am not really happy with my whole Chinese experience. Basically the only places to go to get a good fun time are either massage places (BBS) which typically don't speak English and really don't have a fun atmosphere (all businesslike and usually don't allow kissing or anything but minimum service) or the bars like Manhattans where the overwhelming girls are not Chinese but Vietnamese and usually business-focused and WAY overpriced.
As with most things in China, the locals can get sex for around 400-600 RMB from those little barbershops (could call them sweatshops for the attitude of many). Then it is for 1000 RMB to 1500 RMB is typical asking price for the expat-focused stuff (and usually they're not trying to make you happy just try to get your money). As with most of my Chinese experience, everyone is trying to rip you off and not really let you enjoy your time out. It's different from Tijuana, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, etc.
As far as not going the whole professionals route, I've heard stories (bragging really) of the successes there but in all honesty (even most of the braggarts admit) there's not much there either. Basically the girls here are rich enough to not really need sex or they're from a background where they're trying to rip you off at every turn.
Overall, I'd say it's not fun in China unless you reduce everything to a business equation and then get your jollies from basically having beaten the system (aka "Most people pay 1000 I only paid 500!") until you realize that locals don't even pay half of what you pay anyways. It's a weird, unhappy place to fuck.
Then again if anyone does have any suggestions feel free to shoot me some. I know I'm getting the hell out of Shanghai to go to Philippines come my next vacation and I've basically decided to become a monk until I get away from these money-greedy bitches. I don't mind giving my money away but I hate the idea that people are trying to take advantage of me and steal from me at every turn. Which is what China is all about for foreigners.

But you are required to know the language and understand how to talk (not just the language) to Chinese girls. For example I recently took an ABC with perfect Chinese to a BBS and told him don't pay more than 300. I took him to a place I go all the time. The 300 is because the girls BBBJ as well as FS. We both go in, come out, and discuss. I paid 300, got two pops in 30 minutes. His girl got 600 out of him for 1 pop. Ridiculous. Experience at those places counts for everything.
