I just got back from SH. I went to wanhang du a couple times this trip. I have been there before but it has changed. They walk me to the room, bring the girl. Ask me if the girl is ok. (I don't know what happens if you say no. As I just went with it). The menu is either HJ for 268 or BBBJ for 328. I asked the girl the first time about a condom and the mamasan the second time. Go north up from Jingan Temple. As you pass Beijing Rd, just to the right on Beijing Rd at #1808 you will see one os the sister massage places of the same owner. Continuing north you will cross Wulumuqi road, then after another block you will see Xinxha road on the right. On the next block Wining road will fork left and Wanhangdu will head right. Go left on to Wuning and you will see an alley with the Massage sign over the alley entrance. The massage ace is in the alley. Enjoy.

If you went to the Bao'An sauna Pudong (near former Purple Mountain Hotel), then you were so close to SiYuan, which is on the 3rd floor of the Merrilyn Hotel. SiYuan is pretty reliable in terms of selection and service.

Unchange, take a shower, dress to this funny bath things. Then for the 1st time in my life I had to choose from the line. Around 15 girls. Went to a place called A Hai Sauna last week in Shanghai. I would say it is very much off the beaten path. I would say it is more "local" than a Bodi or 777, at least in terms of the waiting area, etc. Probably Chinese 4 star hotel equivelent. The rooms are pretty decent though. I would say at least the equivalent of Bodi, if not better.

Floor 2 - you have to take the stairs to the back right after you enter, the elevator won't stop on the 2nd floor.
It isn't too far from the Shanghai rail station, but taxi drivers may not know exactly how to get there because it is on a small street that is parallel to Suzhou Creek. It is actually in a small office building of six stories or so. When I first went up the stairs the guy sitting outside came up and stopped me. Said it was not convenient for me to go up, but when I said I wanted a massage he said ok.
The manager was nice and after gave me a card and said to call ahead next time so he can make sure that he had beautiful girls in the lineup.
Line up when I went on a Friday night 8 PM was about 8 girls. All okay. I chose 26 from Guang Dong, who was about 23-24 years old, nice body, face (except a scar where she had an abortion). recently during my business trips i have decided to stay one night at shanghai and explore the city and this is the report.
i have read a lot about almost everything and since i don't know any chinese, thought it would be difficult to effectively communicate with taxi drivers so planned to use maglev and then metro as main transportation, visit tang dynasty at afternoon, nanjing road at evening and manhattn at night.
if you are going to use metro the < exploreshanghai. com / metro / has good information about shanghai metro and very useful apps for ios and android.
also all signs and guides in metro is bilingual so no need to any paper map, nevertheless paper metro maps are available at hotels.
i booked a good 5 star hotel at jingan area to be in a good location.
arrived at about 10 am to pudung airport, bought a metro card and then a 2 way maglev card (metro card was redundant as if you are going to return within 7 days you can charge the maglev and use it as metro card).
maglev is amazing especially at mornings when its speed is over 400 km / h and save at least 1 hour of my valuable time.
took line 2 and at destination found my hotel without any problem. by getting the room it was about 12:30 pm.
shower and shaving the metro to line 9 qi bao station.
based on sauna maps on shanghai guide site and despite of misdirection of google maps for china i thought i can find the spot easily but i was so wrong.
after a long walk i found myself at the position but there was no sign of tang dynasty.
tried to ask some people and the security guard of a building at the position with no lock (commercial or governmental building i believe).
i just forgot to bring the taxi card (not from shanghai guide but another site) with me, how stupid.
after 20 minutes of looking around and starting to get attention and suspicion of the people i realized that it is a dead end.
fast jugging back to metro station, got the train, changed the line, back to the hotel, got the card back to train, changed the line and at qi bao station again.
the address of the tang dynasty is no. 2407 at qi shen street (qi xin lu) and the odd numbers are at the west side of the street, quite opposite of what was shown on shanghai guide site.
the starting address number was about 400 above the 2407 so i thought i might had to pass 200 buildings but i was wrong and after signal it drops, the distance of tang dynasty from qi bao station is about 1. 2 km so you decide for yourself to walk or take a taxi.
you can see the difference on the map image attached, the wrong position of shanghai guide is crossed blue.
inside the building the guards asked something that i didn't understand just showed them 6 and a guy guided me to the elevator.
at the reception a guy on his iphone showed me the rates for different colors (yellow 880, red 980, blue 1080) which i agreed they guided me trough a very confusing path to the selection which was about 7 girls (6 normal, one 1080).
the only blue one (1080) had wide eyes which may looks attractive to chinese but for me it was quite regular and i preferred much to choose a cute with tight chinese eyes.
the girl guided me to the room and brought me a coke. she was 23 and did her best, i tried to use google translate to establish some communication but since i couldn't speak chinese and she couldn't speak english the whole session was rather boring for both of us.
next time if ever, maybe it would better to ask for 2 girls, they could talk together and i could enjoy their beauty.
tang dynasty is clean, private and safe. the locker is in the room and the furniture is reasonably in good condition.
another long walk to qi bao station and at about 19:30 at nanjing road.
the place is interesting and worth to visit, i was offered sex massage many times which of course refused.

most of them were viet girls, some normal chit chat, tow more rounds of double whiskey and to my surprise the belly dance was started followed by two russian dancers, very entertaining to see chinese belly dance.
at about 1 am i decided to go back and took a viet beauty with me for 1500 cny full night.
took taxi for short ride and to my surprise again no one was at the door or at the lobby so we flawlessly reached to my room.
we had a good and decent conversation for about 30 40 minutes, mainly to see if i need registration or any trouble is on the way and luckily there was none.
she was good in everything and did her best especially stayed until 9 am so i tipped her 100 cny (and she didn't ask for payment at all).
shower, good breakfast, metro to maglev to the airport.
to me shanghai is a good place with some memos.

I know a good one not far from Gubei district, for two guys should be around 2000 to 3000 including a lot of beer and whiskey (enough for you two guys and your 2 to 4 girls), the sitting fee there is 300 to 400 (including nude games), but no one there can speak any english.
Another one I checked near Jing An Area is higher level (from rates, but also girls and enviroment) and will be around 4000 to 5000 for you two guys and the girls, the sitting fee is 500 to 700 (also nude games, could go up to BJs), but here they also have a mamasan who can speak a decent english and she can join your party and translate for you and arrange the games, also some of the girls there can speak basic English.

The girls sit in a sitting area to the right and the counter is to the left when you walk in. There are typically only 2 massages on the menu. HJ or HJ topless. It used to be BJ for the more expensive but it changes. Not tip required. It is included in the price.The number of girls has never been more than 3 but usually 2. Quality of the girls run hot and cold in the looks department. A couple years ago, they were really hot.
I got a HJ at Animate for 140 tip on a regular basis. The girl I had was a decent massage but a very good HJ. I actually ended up doing takeout with her to my hotel which also worked well for me. Of course YMMV.

On the right side of Hilton Beijing is an entrance to a parking lot. Go through that to the other side, and you get to a small street or alley. Along the left, you will see JB's Massage Club (hard to miss), then a place that says only New Massage Club, then Animate (Powerful) Massage.
New Massage Club no longer says Royal on the moving LED sign on the outside. Go inside to the desk, and you will see a sign with three lines:
"Oil Massage" 358, 60 minutes.
"Royal Massage", 458, 70 minutes.
No tips!
No other description is offered. I opted for the oil massage.
The young lady was pretty, slim, friendly, and spoke very little English. I took her up on the offer of a shower (solo), then she handed me a hand towel to dry, and a kind of blue paper miniskirt to wear. I call it that because unlike shorts, there was no divider to get in the way of things. I don't actually know why they want you to put it on, but I did.
It was quite warm in the room. The remote for the a/c, which she did not turn on, said 26. That's a few degrees cooler than it was outside, but still rather warm.
The backrub part of the massage was fair to good, starting with the shoulders, then the lower back. I needed a deeper massage, but that's not what this place is for. Next she hoisted up the miniskirt and began massaging my hips. She worked down, massaging between the hips but staying well away from "there". She had me hoist up onto my knees to get better access, and gradually worked down to the boys, and the stick, which was begging for attention by this time. She spent perhaps 10 minutes in this.
On the flip, she showed me her telephone. It had two messages. One said "458 take your clothes off" and the other "358 don't take your clothes off". So obviously this was an opportunity to change my mind. She was allowing some touching under her dress, though I did not go under her panties, since I wanted to stay with the 358 plan for this first time. It was upsell, but in a very friendly way. I was tempted.
I often take awhile to pop, and that was the case this time. She was patient. Her technique overall was among the best I've had, especially while I was on my knees.
After, she cleaned me up a bit, and suggested another shower, which again I took. No soap, so the oil didn't really come off much. A fresh dry hand towel to dry off.
Overall, she was nice to look at, would have been better with clothes off, had very good technique, was patient and friendly. The other girl in the shop also looked good. Not especially cheap at 358, but very convenient if you're staying at Hilton. She did not ask for a tip. Yes, I'd go back.
A word of warning: wear the clogs they offer. The floor is quite slippery, especially after the shower, and the step down could be deadly. It's dim enough that it's hard to see where the floor will be. I suspect there was lingering oil on the shower from earlier use, because it was slippery for the first shower, when I was not wearing clogs.
Earlier reports have called this club Royal Massage. There are indeed business cards that still say that, but it does not say it on the outside. Earlier reports gave the prices as 300 or 450; the sign definitely said 358 and 458 now.
Just past Animate Massage there is a hotpot restaurant, though it's not open much past 9 pm. I had a pork chop, breaded with 5-spice flavor, and cold noodles with sesame paste. A bowl of broth was complimentary. The table condiments (chili / bean sauce, soy sauce, vinegar) improved the noodles. This dinner cost 15. The beer was another 10. The food was decent for the money. Service was friendly enough, as were the other customers (who seemed a little surprised that I was there), and the menu had just enough English to get by on. The hotpot is probably good, but you normally get it for a small crowd.

Just spent the weekend with my regular provider, Yoyo who works out of Paulaner Xintiandi. I met her there, still several girls hanging around the bar and a few outside the restaurant as well. Generally Paulaner girls are 30's plus, so if you're looking for 20-year olds Manhattan is still the best spot. But the experienced girls from Paulaner know exactly how to act and perform, they know what is expected and recognize they need repeat business. I'm satisfied!
Prices seem to be stable at RMB 1,500 for overnight although Yoyo says her friends are pushing harder to drive the price to 2 K. One benefit of a regular provider is no negotiation!

Note the touts are very active in and around Xintiandi. I'm an old, bald white guy so an easy target but between JW Marriott People's Square and Xintiandi I had six offers for sexy massage. No thanks!

It's been a while since I've been on here but I was recently at Tang Sauna so I wanted to give you guys a review. Like Persian Fellow said the location of the sauna is actually pretty far from the heart of the city so it's about a 30 minute metro ride from most places. The closest metro stop is qibao (19971;23453. From there it's about a 10-15 minute walk south along Qishen road. You'll cross a small creek and about 5 minutes later it'll be on your right, at the intersection of Baolian Road. The main desk is on the 6th floor and there will be a guy on the outside that will radio up to let them know that you're coming.
Once in you'll be taken to a resting room to change into the standard clothes before the host take you along several corridors and hidden doorways towards the lineup. An amazing sight, I was there on a Sunday evening and there were more than 40 girls lined across. I chose 66 and proceeded to the room. From there an amazing soapy and great session with the girl. Helps if you speak Mandarin. For a sauna the facilities and service are top notch. It's not cheap but if you're looking to get pampered it's definitely worth a try.

The bar called 'BNC' or something like that is right next to the massage place I go to. It's has glass doors and you can see couches with girls on the inside, on the left. Trying to find an "real" girl online is nearly impossible. Like 99% fake pics.Nearly all KTVs will allow you to take out the girl (later) after you finished your party, but not all girls are available for that. So if the "takeout" is your target, better ask the mamasan for present only girls who will be available for that. Additional some girls there will not go out with a foreigner (because no chance to communicate and the "big dick rumor" so the selection will be reduced, but still a lot of girls, I am sure. I have been with a western customer on a tour last Saturday, we went to two KTVs and both had more than 100 girls even for that "requirement", but I am afraid you need to speak Chinese, or you need a translator or you have to find a KTV with a English skilled mamasan (very expensive KTVs will provide that, the lower and medium KTVs not often, but I know a mamasan who can speak a decent English in a medium ranged KTV, she even offer our customers after having a first party there, you can later just come over, pay her mamasan fee and pick the girl to go out without spend for a room again, so if you need that contact, just check our page or write a private message here).
KTVs here in Shanghai are all "nightclubs", not like a bar, so I never visit a KTV who will have girls in daytime. The KTV service is hosting a party starting from 7 to 9 pm and end from midnight to 3 am. You also have to book a room for an evening there, it's not like a bar where you go there when ever you want, get a drink and leave after finish. You book (and pay) room, DJ, waiter, mamasan and so on for the evening, even when you leave after 10 minutes. And you normally have a minimum drink charge of at least 500 to 1000 RMB included in the room fee, so also not easy not to waste that budget. And a big share of this cost is fixed, same for one or 5 guys, so if you go there alone, it's a expensive (and honestly bad) deal, but if you are able to share the cost within a small group, a KTV party is a great deal.
But all KTVs will work with that "face to face" selection, but no need to by shy, they will see so many guys every day, you don't need to worry they will remember your face.
Best time to pick up girls is around 7:30 pm, because this time the KTV girls will start to work. But than better be fast, because they will go from room to room than and till 8:30 most rooms will be booked, that means in a medium KTV there are at least 100 guys who picked out 100 girls from the selection. Here we German call it: "the early bird get the worm".
To make a decision will be a hard job, because they will bring the girls in several charges, so for example each time 20, while you see the first selection, you still have a chance for 5 times another 20 girls. Do you see the problem? You like one, but you are not sure if there will be better ones, than you ask for another selection, finally could be you find out the best one was in the 3rd selection, but when you want to call her back, she already has been picked out in another room. For that I have a "arrangement" with the mamasan for our customers: if you like a girl, just take her out, "park" her on the side, take next selection, perhaps here "park" out another one, than finally after all girls passed, you have your own "top selection" and finally decide for one girl and the others will leave.
For our western culture it sounds strange and embarrassing, but for the girls seems to be no problem, so no need to be shy for that.
When you try to find a KTV, you should know they are 3 different kind of KTVs here in Shanghai. One is the regular one (like for example Cash Box), where you only rent a room with friends, party together and leave, no girls!
The other ones are the KTVs with girls. Most time they included something like Huisuo 会25152; (Clubhouse) in their name, than should be clear they have girls.
Here you now will find the more "legit" ones and the Clubs we call "naughty" KTVs on our page.
A "legit" one includes singing and some light kissing or touching in the KTV, but not more. Here sometimes you find more stunners, but here also the rate of the girls who finally are available for "takeout" is lower.
A "naughty" KTV will include much more hot activities in the KTV, like for example strip dance, topless games and in some clubs also naked games (but no sex! I also know a KTV where you can book a extra girl for a 2 song nude dance including BJ in the room for 600 extra.
There is a 4th group of KTVs where I hope you never will stop over. We call them the "black KTVs". This are the places where the pimps on the street will bring you, if you follow them to a bar with sexy girls. This clubs are small, only some rooms, only 10 or 20 girls and no signs for a KTV outside. Than after a short session they will blackmail you with "they video taped it" or just with some strong guys to pay 5 000 RMB and more. One guy just left a review on our page that he was ripped off there with 30 000 RMB for one hour including blow job, but after beaten up, he finally paid!
The problem is to find out, which KTV offer what kind of service. They will not even talk about their "service" on phone most time (because you also could work for the police), so you have to go there and ask. As a westerner you have the "no police" advantage, so if you are there (and you can speak Chinese or you have a translator beside), than they will tell you very clear what kind of service they offer and also clear the rate with you, but nearly no chance to get that without visit the club.
The range for KTV rates is very wide in Shanghai. There are clubs where you can have a party for 5 guys for 4000 including drinks, naughty activities and girls, other medium ranged clubs will charge 10 or 15 k for the same party (but for sure with higher level environment and girls). There are also high class KTV where a party will be at least 10 k each customer (KTV is a typical "company" entertainment, so the guys there don't mind to spend a fortune in one night, because they will claim it from their company as "customer entertainment".
We have some "checked" KTVs and I know a good cheap one (but no English skilled mamasan) and one a little bit more upscale with the English speaking mamasan, so just send a private message or check out our page for details.

That's a lot of questions. I've been in SH for many years. And yes, I have a sig other. They are all on or near Tongren Lu and Nanjing Road, right near the Portman Ritz Carlton and Kerry Center. Malones is an irish pub. A Phillpino cover band plays there on weekends. Things in China are less wide open than they were when I arrived, it's not as easy to just show up and find something, there are more foreigners, more of them speak Chinese, more competition. But it's still possible, especially if you already have decent work experience from back home.

Well I wasn't' ready to pay 2 K that night. But I probably will at least once while I am here. Just for the experience. In the meantime I am on the hunt for more affordable options.

I attributed that to the fact that it was totally dead over the National Holiday week. I was even offered a Duo for 1500. I only declined cause I find that they are rarely worth it on Manhattan hook ups. At 2 K.
I am definitely out. Rather spend 700-800 at a decent sauna.
I'll be going to Shanghai in about a month. I've read reports that the sauna in the Merrylin in Pudong is closed. Is this still true?

Chuckle, can you recommend a few good Saunas for someone that doesn't speak Chinese. And please don't say RTFF. I am asking for a personal rec.

Last night discovered in North part of shanghai some BBS shops with girls in really sexy lingerie such as black corsets and sexy secretary glasses. Plenty of opportunities in China, but without any real work experience, you need to ask yourself why would a western company spend a lot of money to make you an expat when they could hire a native chinese for a fraction of the cost and at a fraction of the risk? What is it you bring to the table? Your competition isn't older and more experienced USA people, it's local Chinese grads. That's just general advice; there are all kinds of exceptions.
Last thing. Dude, you are 23. The world is your oyster. You don't need to pay money to get laid; that's for old lazy farts such as myself.
