SNG is Shanghai Nightlife Guide. Its a website for mongering in SH. Click the tab for "Girls Sauna Shanghai" then select Jiang Li from the list. Once you open that Jiang Li tab another tab becomes available with pics of the girls by number. Its located on QiXin road about a 20 minute walk south of the Qibao metro stop. Detailed directions and an entry card are on SNG. Long way from central SH but very nice.

About a year ago I went to a massage shop on the corner of Lantian Road (they moved from the rip-off end of Hong Feng) - their prices and service were more realistic than the others. Might be worth a try, at least one of their girls was available for take-out.

Haven't posted in some time.
I found a massage parlour near Zhaojiabang road the other night, was a bit bored so I went in. (I can't be more forthcoming with the exact address, it was dark and I'm useless without my glasses).

First up, this is bad advice for anyone visiting Shanghai for the first time. Those "magic words" will not save your ass. You will get beaten and / or you will simply pay up. These goons fear nothing. Most of the cops are on their payroll so don't count on some uniform to come your rescue.
Secondly, the 35 minute taxi ride should have helped make a decision.

However, for me, Wechat is no longer the medium of choice for meeting freebies, part-time girls or WGs. Four years ago, it was a very safe and very productive tool.

Its simple economics to me. When the state pays a cop lower than the subsistence wage, the cop will be on an alternate payroll, no matter how petty the thug may be. It might sound ridiculous but quite a few of these "petty thugs" are ex-cops discharged dishonorably from service and have no other avenues for employment. These thugs don't have to bribe the entire police force, just a few cops at the station covering the precinct where they are located. They know who grease.

Went to the 4th floor of a hotel near to the intercontinental and got a great massage with happy ending. Originally quoted 500 but ended up at 350. Not sure if that's the going rate but I was pretty happy. Alsonot sure if I should give the exact locaton here on thenboard or if LE is a concern. Long time lurker, first time poster.
This is my way of sharing my own experience and thanking for whole community that's been working hard.
First of, let me introduce myself briefly. I'm a FBC (as in French Born Chinese) in my early 30's. Lived for several months in Shanghai in 2008 and have been travelling back and forth a couple of times few years ago so I'm pretty familiar with the city and can speak decent mandarin which helps in the mongering area.
Last month, I was in SH for two weeks so had plenty of times to visit and relax.
Here's my field report:

As some of you already stated, the few BBS at AnYuan Rd. Changde Rd. Are now closed. That's very sad because I remember back in the old days, there used to be some nice talents over there.
Another favorite of mine on QiXia Rd. Is closed as well. Though, one night, I was walking on the street and saw a few girls on the street trying to appeal guys. Did not waste my time asking for services or prices.
So after all those disappointments, decided to go to HongSong Rd. (close to metro station LongBaiXinCun on Line 10) which is considered to be the heaven for BBS.
Actually if you walk on that street you'll easily notice 5/6 BBSs. Girls would be between 5 and 7 I guess. Was very surprised by the standing of these BBSs. Nothing compared to the ones on AnYuan as the places look recent and decent! There's even a shower in the room! However, Steven and his team are doing a great job and not trying to blame them but just correct them. The Place is not easy to find but if you follow SNG carefully you'll land at the right place. Got there and told the guards I was looking for Owen.
Went to the elevator and 5th floor we go. The place is huge and Jian Li was the best sauna experience during my trip. After the locking room step, I was guided right to the lineup. Pretty impressive for a Sunday evening. Around 25/30 girls I would say. Very few 7 xx, some 8 xx, lots of 9 xx and few models.
Chose a 9 xx, very cute (8. 5/10 looking), nice legs and breasts in her early 20's. Had to wait 20 min for a room as the girl told me the place is very crowded especially on a Sunday. Anyway, just wanted to mention that main door was locked up. I hovered a bit and saw that a runner was picking up customers and escorting them in the back way. Normal way is pretty indiscreet. CheersThere appears to be conflicting reports on whether the sauna is still operational.
It is the hotel right across the street from the Intercontinental, very easy for you to check it out.
The building used to be the Changhang-Merrylin Hotel.
Now it appears to be called the Huazhu Quanji (All Seasons) Hotel.
You can check out the third floor or the fourth floor and see if the sauna is still there.
Your fallback option would be either walking to Sacrosa or take a cab to Bodi.
Was there last month, have to say it's pretty Barren at night. But I have to say I did t do much research on the area before hand. Was staying at the LE meridian there most of the lights in the are are off by 11 pm. Anyone have some pointers for the area, might be back soon.

Massage parlors are ok, but girl will generally not bee super-hot. Manhattan / Judy's are not too bad if you're OK with $200ST, $300 overnite. However, I personally believe saunas are where Shanghai shines. What you get for $120-200 even compares somewhat favorably to Thailand or Macao. It's the girls who can no longer work in saunas who turn to escorting or massage parlors.

Western Europe and Latin America are fine, but I never feel like more of a foreigner than when I'm in Asia. This sauna clubs have a high interest in avoid getting known as a STD spreading place. That will bring you down form a million dollar business to get bankrupt in less than 2 month. So I would guess you had a communication issue with the manager. They need to take the serious feedback seriously and same time not get busted out by the high number of hypochondriac guys around.

Are you absolutely certain it was the KD girl? You don't mention which STD, but incubation periods for chlamydia is 1-3 weeks, syphilis 10-90 days, scabies 1-2 months, hep be 4-6 weeks, mono 2 weeks-6 months. Genital warts, genital herpes or gonorrhea can appear with a few days, but often take longer. Needless to say, if it was one of the latter 3, it's a good idea to have SNG reach out to their contact.
Had a good 1st visit to the Jiang Li Sauna. Just a few notes to add to what's already on the board:
- It's a pretty long haul to get there. If you metro it to QiBao on line 9, it's a long walk along QiBao Rd until the shopping center it's located on, maybe 25 minutes or so. I recommend a cab from the metro station, unless you really like to walk. When you get to the 108 Sq Shopping Center, it's around the side. No need to enter the main mall, just keep going around the building.
- When I showed up, I didn't automatically get in without naming Owen (the SNL contact). Then they let me in and I rode up to the 5th floor reception.
- Very classy compared to the downtown saunas. Somewhat over-the-top opulence.
- Quality of models quite good. Even at the lowest 780 level, there were some very doable models. At the 3rd level up, 1180 for 90 min, I was pretty blown away by the beauty.
- I miss the fishbowls of Thailand. With these line-ups, a lot of pressure to pick fast, which the Chinese guys do. I like to look over the options more carefully, but that's me.
- I'm not sure whether or not Owen is actually one individual, or just a way the sauna deals with foreigners.
- I don't really like he hassle of getting out there. It would make it more worth it if SNL could negotiate a discount.
- All in all, a great place, very sanitary, with 1st class talent. Hats off again to SNL for showing the way. It's these saunas that keep me happy in Shanghai without needing trips to Macao or Bangkok.

Second, visited Jiang Li and am moderately impressed. Sure it's a nice place but far far away. As you're going to spend a bit there, why not take a taxi from wherever your location is, that extra 100 won't kill your budget.
I did meet "Owen", cool guy.
Fishbowl was interesting, first girl I picked would not do foreigners (yeah I'm a big western guy), her reaction when I picked her was so funny I laughed myself. They apparently know there place in the market. The building has quite of few businesses. When the elevator stops at the 5th floor, the hallway is totally dark. I wonder what the others int he elevator think or know of the 5th floor.
Some have remarked about the facilities. They are fine. Not great, not bad, either.
I was presented with a line up of 8-10 girls at 4:15 in the afternoon. In general, they were 6-8 range and a little larger than what you might see at the more popular places. But they were very acceptable since the cost was only 580 RMB. Coincidentally, I chose number 580. She was 24 years old, about 5'5" and probably 120+ lbs. So, not a waif, but also not a whale. She had a pretty smile, a flat tummy, but larger hips (which I didn't notice until I was all over her body). The room was basic with only a full size bed, not Nuru wet area or shower.

In my experience I have had no problems using my US bank issued VISA card at most saunas including 999, SiYuan, Bodi, and Southern.
The merchant names that appear on your card statement is also meant to be inconspicuous and sometimes quite hilarious.
I have seen the sauna bills showing up as department stores, restaurants, and even one investment company.
The only places I had trouble was with Heting Elite and Sacrosa which has a cash only policy.

As mentioned below, the old Merrylin has reopened as JI Hotel and, from reception at least, it looks fine, much better than the old outdated Merrylin. Nice colored reception area not like that drab old place. I did not stay there but will next time because of convenience to walk to meetings. I DID goo back to the Spa on 3 floor, however and it is JUST AS GOOD as in the old days. The price is up from 888 to 900 but well worth the money.
Early evening I got a lineup of 23 gals. And I'd say 20 of them were 8+ and ten were 9 or 9. 5. STUNNING, and I am quite picky.

Yes it is. See my report from October.Hong Song is generally reopened, but this days they are closed again (temporarily) because of some "warning" they got. Have been their yesterday for an update, but could not get a clear information, when they will come back to business again.

There main target group are always Chinese customers and foreigners will range in the less than 1% rate of their guest. We found only 3 sauna clubs in Shanghai yet, where you can get a contact who is able to speak English. But now with mobile phone translation services which works not too bad for that case also a sauna with no English skilled contact will not be a big problem any more.
Personally I recommend first time visit one with English contact to make sure you understand the basic procedure and process, than all others not will be a problem any more.

It is actually a local bath house. I went there last evening. The bath house was supposedly for both male and female, but there were only 6-7 guys there changing into plastic slippers and then walked through the double door besides the counter. I asked the receptionist what type of services are available and what are the prices. She just pointed to a price list hanging on the wall: bath 15 rmb, foot wash 15 rmb, thumb press. Etc. I told her I am looking for a massage with a girl. She pointed to the sign again, there was no massage listed. Maybe I have to go along with the mime until I got inside, but because all the customers who were there were decidedly very rough looking, low brow locals, I decided to give the place a pass and left.

Went there on 12/5 at about 4 PM. Ethnic Indian client at Sauna club. Was concerned whether I could get good service given the complete lack of language. Came away pleasantly surprises!
Building is easy enough to find. In a a nice location and very swank feel. Walked in and asked for the English speaking manager. Note cell coverage is terrible inside the building. So translator apps will likely not work. Spent a few minutes at the waiting room and was taken to the line up. Was offered Water and redbull Chose one of 7 xx series. Was led away to a nice room for 90 minute session. Great Nuru Massage + BBBJ + various fun positions. Had to leave a few minutes early to the next meeting. Overall great expert.

Some share part of their experiences, some just say, "I found a great GFE experience contact me" All share digits offline (unless you want Jackson deleting your post). If you are saying don't give any details of your experience, I don't agree. The details help me figure out if the girl may be a fit for me.

It is actually a local bath house. I went there last evening. The bath house was supposedly for both male and female, but there were only 6-7 guys there changing into plastic slippers and then walked through the double door besides the counter. Anyhow, don't bother asking for a massage. They'll just turn you away since you're not playing the game right. Hand them your shoes, go in, get changed and showered and then head upstairs. From there, there's no doubt what that place is for and you'll have your pick of girls for FS. If you can speak Mandarin, that's where the negotiations take place. I got exactly what I was looking for completely unrushed for 188 RMB.
The bath section is pretty legit though. The place was packed with probably more than 50 guys just bathing and getting scrubbed down or "cupped. " You just need to head upstairs if you're looking for more. I will definitely be returning.

You can stay in Ramada inn in the pudong airport. You can walk to the hotel in about 10 minute after collect your luggage.

I was at Sacrosa at the end of November and found it to be a great choice. The first time I went was about 5 pm on a Tuesday. The selection was about 8 girls and no wait. Hong Song is generally reopened, but this days they are closed again (temporarily) because of some "warning" they got. Have been their yesterday for an update, but could not get a clear information, when they will come back to business again.I was in the area of Hongqiao Hilton a week or so back, so I figured I'd stop by Hong Song myself to check out the situation. Took the elevator up and when the doors opened it was mostly darkened and appeared to be under renovation.
Clearly not in operation there, but I rode the elevator back down with a guy the workers had called over when I showed up. He showed me a card to what must be their other location (or somehow related) in Minhang. He said he was going over there and even offered me a ride. I didn't have time, but I believe that other location is the same one listed on SNG as New Jade Screen. (As a side note, in the future SNG may want to point out the distinction between these two locations and how they are actually related, since they presumably appear to be.).
Anyway, as noted above, it also wasn't made clear to me when the location I visited would re-open, if at all. But please keep us posted if anyone else learns more.

She suggested a meeting after a few days of chatting and they met at a shopping mall. They met, strolled along and came upon a restaurant. She suggested going in, sit down and have some coffee. Coffee was served, and then another woman friend happened to walk in: a happy coincidence!! She sat down, the women suggested some red wine. They had a total of 2 carafe. The women excused themselves and left. The bill came to 30000 rmb. When he reported that to the police, another man came the station to report the same type of scam that happened to him at the same restaurant. So it is not just Shanghai, and it does not only involve foreigners.

Good luck!!While Shanghai is not the cheapest mongering destination, it's probably instructive to compare apples-to-apples. True, an all-niter with a hot, young thing at your Shanghai hotel will likely run you $250-300. In several Asian or Latin American destinations, you might get a similarly attractive girl for $150-200, even $80-100 in bargain basement Pattaya. However, Chinese girls will often be in better shape than Philippine or Thai equivalents, especially in terms of no-pregnancies / drug abuse / etc.
At a top Shanghai sauna, you can get a very hot girl for $120 and up. This actually compares well with Macao and KL, even with Thailand. You can get cheaper sauna / massage parlor experiences in BKK, but the girl will be older (and likely a mother). Shanghai's Viet bars are arguably better for Viet girls than anything in HCMC.
Without local language skills, Thailand / Philippines / Malaysia are easier to navigate than China. This factor alone prevents Shanghai from becoming a major monger destination.
As to your "scamhai" references, China is relatively crime-free country compared to other Asian venues (not to mention Latin America). Scams almost never happen in the legit massage parlors and saunas. Most SNL girls try to give money's worth, though there are unfortunate exceptions. If you avoid Shanghai touts, which you failed to do, you will generally have a trouble-free experience. Follow the touts and likelihood of getting ripped off is, unfortunately, quite high.

I travel to Shanghai several times a month.
I have found that there are a good many WG's (mostly Vietnam, Malaysian and a few Afro & Russians) at either a place called Judy's near Temple Station or The Manhattan Bar. There are also a few that hangout out a sports bar called Malone's, located nearby, between Judy's and Manhattan.
The ladies go from skinny to fat and pretty to ugly, just depends on what's happening. I think many change out on a monthly basis due to visa's.
The Manhattan has loud music, no cover charge, and lots and lots of girls. 4-5 to 1 easily.
Judy' s has less girls, little more upscale than Manhattan.
The heart of the hunting envelope is between 10 pm and 3 am.
All WG's bargain for services. Start high but All will come down in price. Easy to get ST or LT service. Prices vary. You be the judge. Estimated Damages US 80-200.
Another means to meet many many girls in China is to download the program WeChat. Once you have it up and running, you will have girls writing you quiet frequently. Let's Make A Deal! Right from your hotel or across from you in the bar. The WeChat program will give you approximate distances of people near you.
Watch out, WeChat girls, some will ask you to pay up front, start the mission, then leave You high and Dry. I have No advice on how to prepare or defend for this situation.

I have also been to Judy's Manhattan's MPs, and used SNG's services.
Did I get overcharged once or twice at Manattans or not have the girl deliver as well as I expected out of some 60-70 experiences? Sure. Do I feel I ever got scammed?? No not really.
Overall the experiences have been good. Have I paid $200 for an evening with a beautiful girl? Yes and without regret.
I have also paid $80 to 2 different girls (separately) . They were a 7 or 7.5 and gave great FS in my hotel on 5 separate occasions in 2014/2015. I also had a couple massage girls agree to a 500RMB/$80 number but I didn't follow up as I had other targets on my mind. (I truly regret missing those opportunities!).
I am over 50, Bald, not thin but not fat but I have done just well in Shanghai. if I were a great football player like you stacked and as rich as you say, I can only imagine how much better I could have done. You however with all that going and streetsmarts got scammed,,,,,go figure.

It should be clear that the taxi guys at the airport waiting for you at the customs exit are no legit taxis. But, off course, they are convenient, you don't have to go down to the official taxi stand and you don't have to wait in line (BTW, the line in Pudong normally is not that long).
If you would be that street-smart, you would have done your homework before you go hunting in Shanghai, you would have 'rtff'. If so, you would probably have avoided to go with the touts and get robbed, because there were warnings enough (still do doubt the 9 mm, there are no real guns on the street in Shanghai).

Shanghai friends pointed me to a couple of saunas in Minhang. Went there tonight to try. In succession, both doors were locked and the lookouts said they were closed. Did not say when they will open again. Went home disappointed. The LE are so lacking in holiday spirits.

Never been scammed in Shanghai. A lot have tried, but I love to just keep them talking then drop the bomb on them. Another little trick to protect yourself, take a picture of the name card in the taxi, it gives the driver name and number. It only takes 10 seconds to snap a phone picture. Most savvy travelers no how to protect them selves.

I have been to Shanghai many times and it is a relatively safe place. That is not to say that you can't get into trouble. But if you take basic precautions, you will be fine. First and foremost, as everyone has said, NEVER go with touts. If you do, then you are asking for trouble. If I were walking in NYC, I would not go with some stranger or get into his car so why do it in Shanghai. Second rule, avoid the girls or kids asking for English lessons and wanting to go for coffee or tea. Don't go with anyone in Shanghai that you don't know. I don't speak the language and taxis have never taken me the wrong way, nor have they given me the wrong change. Enjoy the city, the saunas, the WG nightclubs such as Judy's and oil massages. Just don't be stupid and you will avoid the scammers.

My impression is the nonprofessional Chinese girls do not commonly go for short term fling, one night stand with strangers. I am think fewer will go for zipless 3 somes with people they barely know. Maybe your best bet is to go to those hot dance clubs / bars where the expats in Shanghai hang out to unwind and have a good time (mostly Friday and Saturday nights) and try your luck. Since that the former "red light city" is dry like a monastery. The "start" for that has been a TV documentary on CCTV about illegal prostitution on Sunday, than Monday they already start to raid Dongguan.
First impossible that a documentary like that will be broadcast without permission of the central government.
Second impossible that the police arrived without pre note so fast.
So obviously that has been part of a "central strategy plan".
Now you will ask yourself why this is interesting for Shanghai?
In Shanghai in November a Journalist published a audio file recorded at a sauna and another sauna here caught a journalist who tried to videotape in the club.
So first all saunas got scared and very careful for getting videotaped.
Second there was a general rumor, that this will finally end same than it has happened in Dongguan.
Beside that there has been two raids of sauna clubs in "running business", which was also a new experience for most sauna manager. Even probably this raids have been related to the "internet cleaning activity" which has been the main focus for all police departments from middle of March to middle of October, there is still a doubt that this has been the first sign for a "Dongguan Session". But from our view all the sauna clubs and escort agencies who got raided this year have been very "active" in the internet undo caught attention by that, but no one can be really sure about that.
Actually there is a rumor that the "investigation journalists" left the city, so as more sure the venues will be about that, as less they will close to prevent trouble, which is mostly the reason why you will end up in front of a locked door.
So let's hope it will get sunny soon.

I know a guy who is CP right now and he sent me a WeChat message yesterday saying "SZ is still better than CP". He is an ISGer so he will post a report over the next couple of days.

Tried one last place (very small, quiet and discrete) and while they were open, they were escorting customers in 1 at a time. Figured I'd be better off not taking the risk. On Friday (yesterday) not one of them were open.

They are finally closed (at least there is not even any hint or forecast, that they will open again). But many of the girls. And also Owen. Went to a new place with a similar price structure. So it's not the "new Jiang Li" sauna there, but it's a similar place. Now we talk about several serious raids which hundreds of the "blue guys" will be involved this days. So that is far away from all LE activities in Shanghai before!
The center of the thunderstorm regarding to the forecast will be Min Hang district, but it obviously also influence the nearby districts, so for example Mansion 45 and Red House both also closed (and they have very good "connection" to the weather god), so I would stay away from any sauna in Puxi this days. And much more from the massage and barbershops!
We do not talk about a 50% chance to be caught in a raid and even there are thousands of shops there, I would not recommend to take over the risk to be the one who will be caught "with trousers down".
But if you still plan to visit some sauna or massage places, be prepared and research about how to behave in a raid to reduce at least the risk to get much more trouble than necessary.
For example there was a guy who thought, he can believe the police guy who asked him in a HJ massage shop, if he got a happy ending or not. The police guy told him, that it would not be a problem for him to tell the true, they only need to know it for the report, but a HJ would not be a problem at all. After he confirmed, that he received a handjob, he was immediately arrested and spend nearly 4 weeks in a not so comfortable jail in Shanghai. The girl or any other one in the shop never would have confirmed any activities like that and there was no evidence (no condom there), so without his avowal all would have got out of that without any consequences. There is always a good and a bad way to handle a worst case like a raid, and if the bad way will ban you from China for some years, I would recommend to try all you can do to follow the "good way".

So it gives you an idea of the kind of protection they are paying for. There is no sauna running longer than some days without that, but the deal mostly include, that you will have to accept a "shareholder" for your sauna to get a reliable weather forecast, if a storm will come up.
I talked with a girl in December who told me, in their sauna there was a drunken Chinese guy who was not happy to pay for a service not satisfied him and he called the police over to the sauna to complain about the lousy service. And really two police guys arrived less than 5 minutes later, all girls in panic when the guys in uniform arrived, but the owner told them not to care about his "friends". They could not find the guy who called them first, so they called his number, found the guy with the "ringing phone" and took him out. And all while the normal sauna business went on there!
So this cooperation normally works well, but seems actually they use on purpose police units from other Shanghai districts to avoid a forewarning.

I do not know how my rather straight forward question got misconstrued as a diss of SNG? I was simply asking whether we had been bluffed by the LE if there had been no raid. My thought is, if the warning of harsh weather was false, that could have been planted by LE for any or combinations of the following reasons:
1. To cut down naughty activities on the cheap, like talking down a stock.
2. It was a trap to identify and catch the mole (s) within the Department.
3. Made the mole (s) looked not credible because "his" information was not accurate.
4. Intended to cry wolves several times. Lure everyone to a false sense of security, and then strike hard for real.
5. There was going to be a raid, but it was called off because it had been leaked.

Yesterday I had a blast. I actually had three. First pop at the place next to the Buddha one on Changping Rd. Great service. +200 tip got me FS and CIM with a slightly tipsy girl. I think they were having a celebration of some sort.

N/S: I think you're missing the point. Here is my assumption (those really in the know may disagree). Windy weather is more about politics than any actual or eventual raid. I can't even imagine the complex politics that must go on in this business, but I guess every now and then, LE has to make things look good. I'd guess the only two ways a raid would actually take place is either to make an example (for whatever reason) or a very serious crack down.
For example, the last time I went to KD, they were only taking people in through the back entrance, using the cover of a nearby restaurant to 'hide' the people. I was out on the 7th, the last almost safe night (in my hood) and at the first place I went there was a single uniformed LE. That was what I'd guess a warning shot. Within the next 20 minutes the calls started coming in (it was actually kinda cool for me as I was with my contact all the while, so I got to see (hear) something I wouldn't normally see).

We really talk about a serious "storm warning" this days. Just to set in in a relation: We never had a "weather forecast" like that since I monitor the Nightlife Scene in Shanghai (since 2010). In the past the "bad weather" often was used to explain, that they will close down because of some special event, and sometimes we had local weather where it was sure some special clubs will get a visit of the "blue crew". Now we talk about several serious raids which hundreds of the "blue guys" will be involved this days. So that is far away from all LE activities in Shanghai before!
The center of the thunderstorm regarding to the forecast will be Min Hang district, but it obviously also influence the nearby districts, so for example Mansion 45 and Red House both also closed (and they have very good "connection" to the weather god), so I would stay away from any sauna in Puxi this days. And much more from the massage and barbershops!
We do not talk about a 50% chance to be caught in a raid and even there are thousands of shops there, I would not recommend to take over the risk to be the one who will be caught "with trousers down"..Thanks a lot for your insight Shanghai Guide.

A friend took me to this sauna at around 6:30 this evening. It was in either Hongkuo or the old Zhabei area. He drove and I had no idea where I was. The club and the girls were so-so (so unlikely will repeat), but that place was PACKED with local mongers. My friend said it was usually not as busy, but the guys were blown up north by the wind.

The site contains information on different types of mongering venues (and specific addresses if you take out a membership).
I do saunas only. The price range for saunas that are more foreigner friendly is about 900 to 2000 rmb. You get 60 to 90 minutes of services. You can get some pretty decent girls and service even at the 900 range. At the 2000 end, you are talking WOW girls as far as look is concern. Services, and what is allowed, might not have strict correlation to price. (The Princess phenomenon).
There are a lot of information in the Shanghai thread on pick up bars like Judy and Manhattan. I have only been to one once, but did not have a good experience. Plus I hate to negotiate. But many here love those two places and had good results.
MP usually are not FS. You get BBBJ and a HJ on top of a massage. I think the price is around 300, but there are often up sell (or in some crooked places, asking you to pay for services which should have been included).
There are some store front places in the area near the Buddha MP. There you can get your 30 min one pop straight screwing. I would not recommend those. The "rooms" are often small and dirty, and the quality of girls not so good.

4) Large sauna.
5) Small sauna.
6) massage parlor.
7) BBS.
8) Tout- don't do it!
So it's best if you can host, otherwise try a large sauna. Again SNG has a list of the big ones. In windy weather, the large saunas will be closed, which is why they are 'safer'.
With that said, there is safety in numbers in the massage parlors since they are everywhere.

Lots of great info here. Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, my business doesn't allow much flexibility and I could not partake of the spas / saunas. I mostly did outcalls and will post my reviews.
Some general tips:
There a lot of web sites but Google is blocked so it is hard to find them once you are in town. I had good luck calling numbers listed and talking to people. Got to get Wechat. Most places use it. Also it is easy to look at"people nearby" and spot clear profile pics that look like escorts. If you friend them you get to their profile and they post pictures, stats, short-time and all night rates. Also, tons of them will hit you up. Not sure how they know. I got 20 incoming hits off it my first night.
Rates seem to be 800-1000 for an outcall to your hotel plus cab fare (based on the receipt they show you). Pictures are legit. No bait and switch. Some girls speaks some English. Many don't but translation apps are great.
I got scammed by one girl (more on that later) but it is like anywhere else. You do get good quality young girls to your room for decent price. It is not cheap but I found the quality good.
Most girls are non-GFE and covered everything.
I recommend getting the girl's wechat / number if you like her and go direct next time. They seem to really like that and service improves.

And mention that you learned perhaps the 2nd most important rule of mongering in Shanghai (the first of course is NEVER follow touts) and that is, never pay upfront. Last year HM Rd was raided the week just before CNY, a shop remained shut till after CNY while the others were opened on low profile.
With the current status in Minhang I guess they will all stay shut until after CNY.

Such local raid in smaller city made national news. I thought LE wants maximum publicity out of any raid. That was why I was wondering what had happened during the latest harsh storm watch in Shanghai.
Another observation is that the ring was supposed to be a big profitable business with connections, but that did not save them from the bust.

I have had good experiences in China in several cities during years and I always feel safe.
Maybe overconfident I missed to read these pages and I missed any common sense. Few weeks ago after being several times in Xin Tian Di and in Nanjing Road. Pedestrian (between People Square and the Bond) where I saw many people offering services to tourists (now I know they are Touts scammers criminal bad people), even when the police were nearby. Stupid me I felt confident.
I accepted following one of them to a place (almost in the corner of Dianchi and Yuanminyuan) and my experience was horrible. First they charged me the fee for regular service, and at the end a threatening guy came, and demanded a large amount. I said no. He became very threatening (fight attitude), even pushed me and called his friend. It was very scary, the confrontation lasted several long minutes. Since I was alone and inside their place I imagined they could do anything bad to me and nobody would ever know. I finished giving him 800 and I was happy I left and I was not hurt and alive.
I noticed that in those two places (Xin Tian Di and Nanjing Rd) the Touts follow all tourists, and the police there see that and do nothing. Some people like me lack of common sense follow them and get in horrible trouble. The incident was several weeks ago but I still remember clearly each second of that terrible moment, and the stupid guy threatening me, it is a horrible memory-feeling.
Right after the incident I went to the police station (Ningbo Henan), three blocks from the incident. I talked to the police there (female police) but she offered no help, I even believe Police know and do nothing.
I believe Shanghai is a good place but common sense is a must like in any place in the world.
Please never follow the touts as many people already mentioned in this forum.
I also hope the police there starts being honest and protect the tourists, or they will forever have a bad memory of the city and the country.
