Had an up and down time at Judy's last weekend. It was dead (I. E. , full of guys) until band starts up at 9:30 pm, but many girls don't start arriving till past 10:30. Alternatively, she could also take the first elevator up to the Lobby floor and then just wait in the waiting area near the elevators. This area is quite far from the front desk, which in this hotel is conveniently hidden around a turn, without direct view to the elevators.

Both these hotels does not require room cards to access the elevators so the girls can go straight to the rooms. You can get by perhaps by meeting at Hu65 bar and take her down from there.

I have been looking for a place where I can get a reasonably good oil massage, a bit of tease, and a handy. I have not figured out how to get this consistently yet.
As far as I can see there are primarily two different types of massage joints.
The Veggie / Legit Massage Locations: Woman dressed in unsexy uniforms and working to give a good professional oil massage with no signs of more. Prices can range from 170 RMB for 90 minutes to 300+.
The Jerk Shacks: Woman at the entrance in skirts with stockings. They get you upstairs at 298 RMB for a "1 hour", let you change into the blue paper shorts, start with a bit of an oil massage / tease for maybe 3 minutes and then begin the negotiation. I generally do not like these types of places so I haven't bothered to get a good idea of what is available and for how much.
On this side of the river these massage joints are still affected by the crackdown. Some of the places that were closed down have opened over the last month or two and some remained closed.
All of the places have had their shower heads removed from the massage rooms and these have not returned yet.
During the crackdown some places had their beds removed and they were limited to foot massage. The beds returned shortly after the end of the meeting in Beijing.

What I find interesting is how the different areas around Pudong are regulated differently.
Down by line 11 XiuYan Road the massage places look like they were joints that offered services not long ago, but now the woman have been told not to even let the shorts be lowered below the waist-line when massaging. So no massaging the ass at all and definitely no teasing. Maybe this is after the opening of Disney? This area is dirty with tons of migrant workers temporarily staying in little places and looking for jobs, but the massage places are on lockdown. Some of these places are open 24 hours and there must be something to be had but I don't have the patience.
Up near Zhangjiang Road / Ziwei Road things are not as tightly regulated. There are several places with women at the entrance in skirts looking for customers.
At 696 Zhangjiang road you can get a good legit 90 minute massage from a decent looking woman for 168 RMB.
Around 298 JianZhong Road there are a couple of places with extras available but also old ladies and dirty rooms. Cheaper prices as a result. Maybe 100-200 RMB for a half-ass massage and a handy from a woman with 30 years of experience.
Out east in the ChuanSha area there are a lot of massage places and most of them were closed during the crackdown. Some have opened but most are still closed. One place that I go to has pretty girls and remained open during the crackdown. They still do not have doors on the rooms and have even had cameras put in every massage room. One of the girls told me that this is because of which is expected to finish after half a month? She said that after half a month they will be able to offer different services and presumably the cameras will be gone LOL. She told me that she knows the customers are currently scouting different places in the area but it is a tough environment out there.
If anyone could tell me what the environment is like in Jinqiao or over by century park I would like to hear it.

Sam.On my many visits last year I never visited the places listed and I'm sure I will not see them back running like they once were. My only fun will be Judy's and I hope it never changes. I love the live band and have always found it fun whether it was busy or not. Can't wait until next month.
I've been to some massage parlor for some Happy Endings but I found this place this hidden gem that doesn't bargain and have girls that let you CIM (AKA KB in Chinese).

If it will be safe? Who knows. Given that these places are not exactly secrets and they have survived the bad weather, I guess they are well connected and it is relatively safe. I won't be in Shanghai for another few weeks, will keep an eye on this thread until then and make up my mind when there.

To make up for lost income across the chain. Some shops that closed, like the one on Panyu Lu mentioned a few pages back will open as veggie. But in that case for example the boss is slowly converting one of his "hand job only" places to a much more rich menu, with full awareness of his business partners.

Thought I would share a report of a visit to Shanghai the 12-16th. I read a lot of the forums and while not my first time to China, but it has been a long time. Shanghai has gotten really expensive for Mongering since my last visit. Also about the only action I found was at Judys. Lots of great looking Viets, but not cheap. First night in, and I wanted to get something quick so I ended up with a great looking Viet girl for 2000, after trying a few at 1000 then a few at 1200-1400 no takers for the lookers (I'm not terrible, tall 53 all my hair and very fit). As soon as we got to the room she was up for more money, and I told her No she was supposed to stay for 2 hours, but after one pop she was done. Went back a couple of nights later and pulled a Russian speaking Mongolian for 1400, she was tall with fake blonde hair and some euro in her, by far not the best in there but I thought she might give me a good ride, nope, same routine. I know I need to work on my mongering game for China and am open for suggestions. Wandering around Shanghai very few independents (I think 2 the whole trip) approached, but more touts than I ever remember. Long and the short of it, Shanghai is not a value stop for Mongering. In NYC you can get top shelf stuff off of seeking arrangement for 300 as a point of reference.
Other problem I ran into was cabs. First night it was easy, second night, a little later perhaps 2 am? It was a walk to the mainstreet and hunt for 20 minutes. I also even though I had Google maps running got taken on most of my Chinese cab trips.
Anyway, thought I would share my experiences.

Anyway, thought I would share my experiences.Thanks for the report. Cabs are sometimes hard in Shanghai without the right app (DiDi). 1200 for ST usually works at Manhattan and Judy's. You might have just been unlucky. 2000 is LT (and even on the high end). Shanghai is not a budget monger's paradise, that's certainly true, but when the saunas are working you can get a 9 for US200. That would be hard to pull in NYC.

I've been to some massage parlor for some Happy Endings but I found this place this hidden gem that doesn't bargain and have girls that let you CIM (AKA KB in Chinese).

I see 10 saunas being advertised lately. Its less than before the August raids (30+ places) but still not little (last month only 3 places were advertised).

This is kind of a PSA / cross post regarding Colombian girls working in China. I just finished a trip to Medellin Colombia and thought I'd pop back here to give my perspective. Before going to Medellin, my only experience with South American ladies was from Manhattan. As far as I can see there are primarily two different types of massage joints.
The Veggie / Legit Massage Locations: Woman dressed in unsexy uniforms and working to give a good professional oil massage with no signs of more. Prices can range from 170 RMB for 90 minutes to 300+.
The Jerk Shacks: Woman at the entrance in skirts with stockings. They get you upstairs at 298 RMB for a "1 hour", let you change into the blue paper shorts, start with a bit of an oil massage / tease for maybe 3 minutes and then begin the negotiation. I generally do not like these types of places so I haven't bothered to get a good idea of what is available and for how much.
On this side of the river these massage joints are still affected by the crackdown. Some of the places that were closed down have opened over the last month or two and some remained closed..

Have bought at multiple locations including a place in WFC (Pudong) and two places near the Marriott City Center. They're usually out in the open on the shelves behind the counter and you can point at them for the pharmacist to dispense you some. No problem at all.

I continue to have good luck with the Zhonghua sauna mentioned in earlier posts.

I do like both Judy's and Manhattans. I have found that staying at the portman is the best as you can walk there. You can also go back after your round is complete to either hang out at the bar or decide to take home another girl. I know they are not all in love with me but it's a fun illusion while you are there.

Saunas are different they tend to be better more hedonistic its about you in the saunas and the level of service can be better than anything else you may have experienced anywhere else. Had my first red rope experience at 999 many years back. Bodi was great for a while and the other sauna next to the bund became my favourite they had model type girls which was a new price differentiation scheme the girls would have letters and letters denote beauty but not always service. Shanghai Nightlife Guide was simply the best for providing info and its really terrible that they aren't around a huge blow to guys that can't speak the language or have inside info I find that unlike other countries the doormen at the hotels can be clueless and I don't always trust asking them I have often received many bad looks walking into the hotel with a girl from Manhattan on my arms I also don't always trust the taxi drivers and I don't speak the language so getting local info is very hard. I hope saunas will pop up again I think they are part of the culture I have been to many that were mostly Chinese guys the level of commerce must be huge because some of the places seemed so vast so many rooms so many sauna girls. Been to a sauna once opposite a Hilton and it was packed many times you have to wait a long time to get to the fishbowl. Shanghai won't be the same without the saunas and I really hope SNL gets up and running with info again or find some way of disseminating info about the saunas again.

Unlike Jing'an, from what I've seen most places in Changning are still closed.
The few non legit MPs that are opened are doing so at their own risk and are doing so low profile (external lights off and such) and can be closed any time.
A boss whos been in changning for 8 years told me yesterday she's turning her shop to normal massage after being closed since August and only opening for old time customers through the back door.
Another shop in the same street has advertisement for a legit massage chain to be reopened soon. Not far from there I saw a sauna being turned to a gym place.
Same thing goes in Changning Road, Gubei, Yili Road, Hongu Rd, etc. Maybe other places on the border of other districts have it better but most of Changning district is still shut down / opening low profile on the MP side.Hi Sino,
I cannot agree more with you on the situation in Changning. Up until summer of 2017, things were so normal and relaxed in terms of operations of saunas and happy ending MPs in this district. In fact there were some really good ones which offered real BANg for the buck (pun intended). Things have gone sour since then. I believe because of election or some other unknown reason.

I arrived in Shanghai in 2016 only to find an amazing and vibrant, young city with so much beauty both on and off the streets. I so fell in love with those summery beauties riding in and out of crowded metros and with their young silky skin. I enjoyed some action in 2017 only to realize that after autumn of 2017, things took a turn for the worse. None of my Sauna / MP contact phones worked, I even went to my previous saunas physically only to find them locked or deserted. Of course as you will agree, language handicap does not help. I did manage to get laid a couple of times since then at higher than normal prices and sub par service. I would skip Manhattan and Judy as I have certain 'commitments' .
Looking for some contacts (in PM of course) of saunas / brothels that are still operational and offer good FS and a bang for the buck (pun intended) from my fellow mongers.

When you get to Qi Bao MRT station take exit 2 once outside go to the left with the big mall on your right. (You will likely be rubbing shoulders with all the tourists going there) take the first to your right and keep walking until you reach a point where you have to decide on going right or left. Go left with all the tourists. After a few meters you will see the old town entrance on your right this is where you will lose all the tourist cause you will walk on. Then take the next right. The area is getting a little seedier now and first thing that comes to mind is this place needs to have a makeover. (Let's hope they won't) at one point you will see a bridge. Don't cross it! Instead turn around and you will see a statue of what I like to call the Chinese princess Leia. (I've added a picture and map of this statue) now with you facing her and your back towards the bridge look right and that is the area where the action is. Also if there is not much to see on that side like my second time walk around the outer wall following the canal. There are some doorways in the wall where I saw the girls.

Seems like the 10%ish New Year's tax has generally disappeared by now, though in some cases it's just been turned into a permanent price hike instead. Most places aren't back up to full strength quite yet, going out now you can expect a lot fewer choices and maybe more want time.
Normally this time of year would be a nice change, with lots of new faces due to turnover; instead the break seems to have brought even more shutdowns. Ended up at the Shaanxi Rd spot (mostly thanks to 2 closures in the area) and passing by the old Buddha spot just reinforced the sentiment. Only had 5 people on hand so needed to sit around for awhile, but did manage to catch that 18 was still around. By now she seems to be the designated person to handle foreigners, which probably means far more people read this board than post. Anyway, for lack of wanting to wait more took the first person to become available, and it seems everyone more or less has the same routine. Still 268, which is fairly inexpensive now that all others in the neighborhood are 250+.
With Minhang and Changning mostly dead and Putuo shrunk to less than half of what it was 2 years ago, probably going to need to move on to another district now. Could anyone help with any locations / street names with some concentration of MP / spa types in another area?

Are there any hotels (around 70-150 USD per night) not too far from downtown that offer sauna or in room massage with extras on site? Or you have to go out for that? I am used to prices around 50-100 USD per hour, but I am more concern about safety than price this time.
It does not have to be downtown, but it is more convenient for sightseeing given that I am not familiar with local transportation (usually travel with Chinese co-workers).

Unfortunately it looks like nearly every place that was recommended some months ago is now closed (according to this forum).
Do you have any recommendation on where to go now after the raids? Which place is still operating? Which one is worth going?
So far, I found only one open Sauna here in the forum (76 Changshou Rd). Is there any other place?

We need all good posters and information sharers My rules are simple for sharing.
1. low post counters don't get my help unless they have a good number of contributions vs posts. It shows they are trying.
2. I require them to post a report if I give them information. I tell them I will help them if they contribute. I explain that even their failures provide a chance for all of us to learn.
3. if they won't post they owe me a PM to tell me how it went.
4. If they don't share, they are dead to me.
When I posted the first comment, I was mad at myself when I broke my own rules to help a "one post wonder". He also crashed and burned trying to meet one of my contacts. She had contacted me to confirm him, which I did, They were having trouble communicating and I was trying to help him close the deal. He was new to shanghai. He made a lot of mistakes and I tried to let him know how to fix it. He went dark and wouldn't answer. OK. Dead to me now.
This board taught me a lot in my early days and that is what this board is about. Let's all work to make it good. If we all refuse to help, this board becomes useless to all of us.

Went to ChangShou twice last week and had a good session. Different girl each time and they didn't stay to share their number with me. They kept telling me about the security and privacy of the place. They were very very pushy and would let me go and wanted ¥1300 for the massage. I will be staying in downtown for 2 or 3 days mostly just to see the city, but I wouldn't mind some additional experiences. I do not speak Chinese and do not feel like going to saunas / clubs on my own, although I am very familiar with similar places in Eastern Europe.
Are there any hotels (around 70-150 USD per night) not too far from downtown that offer sauna or in room massage with extras on site? Or you have to go out for that? I am used to prices around 50-100 USD per hour, but I am more concern about safety than price this time.
It does not have to be downtown, but it is more convenient for sightseeing given that I am not familiar with local transportation (usually travel with Chinese co-workers).

I don't know of any hotels right now with in-house service. This used to be plentiful in China (as well as getting phone calls soliciting after checking in to hotels) but my recommendation would be to get familiar with the subway. This should not be too difficult as tickets & help is in English, and there are few MP's serving foreigners smack bang on subway stops what a coincidence.

And the Beijing scene absolutely sucks! Even worse than the current situation in Shanghai.
Maybe we will meet up sometime, I have gotten value from many of your posts.

Don't know if it's worth mentioning but for the past couple of days, there's been quite a few MP QQ groups that have been shut down by net LE. There's even a notice that states that it's been shut due to sex related solicitation. One that was shut today wasn't 76 but was also on Changshou road not too far away. Now I don't know if the net LE will inform other depts to carry out a raid. But it's something to be weary of. Stay safe!

The only thing that gets to me is the damn distance. I live off in the west end of town and Spring is'and't anywhere near me.

I've rarely been asked for tip for standard HJ service (that is with the standard 298 HJ or 398 RMB BJ service).
Tip is for extra services beyond the above, and it's possible to get what Midwestern was trying for.
Since the LE crackdown last summer, I've not found 398 RMB service anywhere, and I've tried about 6 different stores. 298 service is now 358 RMB service. But extras can still be had with a tip.
Also, Aurangzeb: there are spring shops all over Shanghai, including the west. Use the dianping app and search for "Chun" then click the first thing that comes up. It will give you a list of 20 or so Spring shops.

Many thanks.I have used the site and I can tell you that there are some ads that are legit. Even some providers with reviews advertise in the site. However, most of the ads are just bait. Sometimes, it is easy to spot bait ads by looking at the pictures or the text. I would say to proceed with care or to contact those providers with website for example. Something easy to do is to choose another city in China and see which ads appear in both cities, it is very unlikely for someone to be at two places at the same time right?

Manhattan is great. At times but it's a completely different experience to the saunas. Staying here at the moment only can comment on outcalls as have not ventured to Judys / Manhatans. My advice steer clear of many of the websites as there's a lot of bait on there. Nightlife online and rains not included. Will disclose everything soon as I have been sucked in for the first time.

Time of year can make a difference. It is a high end hotel worth more than that price. It's got a starbucks, an element fresh, a great dumpling place as well as a pizza / itallian place all within the courtyard out front. Good for eating and keeping up your energy.
It is relatively close to the subway and easy access to the blind pig (old Big bamboo) which does a really good job of smoked barbcue.
I used to love the hilton but this is so much better and you don't have to deal with Taxi gouging. There are stairs on the far side (from manhattans) that you can walk up as a short cut to going around front with your girl. You can find cheaper but not better for Mongering.
I walked in with the girl, we change our pace so we are not exactly together and we go right up the elevator. The hotel people look but don't say a thing.
There are also mirrors around the bathtub in the bathroom in your room. ..... if you are so inclined to......... Uh....... You can figure it out.

The bar scam.
