You don't need a key card to access those floors, so you can meet the girl on those floors if you are ordering outcall. If you are walking in with a girl, then as someone else mentioned, try to do it as early as possible, like before 10 pm or 11 pm. Otherwise, it will may appear obvious that you are bringing a WG into your room at 2 am. Have not visited Shanghai in about a decade, so I've zero reference point to comment on it's trajectory. But the place was about 70% full, so not bad for a Sunday.

Much to my dismay, I start reading page after page about how abysmal things are with the LE crackdown and lack of action anywhere. It really kind of depressing to think what I missed in earlier times. Only wish I was there to see it.
Anyway, given the state of affairs in Shanghai, I think I should just cancel my trip. I was looking forward to seeing the sites and getting to know Shanghai, but my goal was to have fun at night too. With my lack of knowledge and experience in Shanghai, feels like my odds are low that I'll be very successful. While my ticket is non-refundable, eating $400 is better than spending the several thousands I was prepared to spend. Anyway, I feel like an idiot for not doing more research ahead of time but was really hoping for some feedback from those with more experience.

Should I cancel or is it worth salvaging somehow?I'll leave it to more experienced locals to advise you. But I've spotted USD $200 return flights from Shanghai to Manila. It's about a 3 hour journey. Why not spend a few days in Shanghai, as there is lots of tourist stuff to do and you can still test the local establishments that work for you. Then play more in Manila. The extra USD200 for the unplanned flights will actually save you cash overall. Accommodation and enjoyment are way cheaper in Manila.

It takes awhile in Asia before you get used to Asian beauty standards. If you don't want to do that then for another $300 you can buy a round trip ticket to Bangkok. Asia is a wonderful place to visit. Go while you can.

Should I cancel or is it worth salvaging somehow?As someone who has lived in Shanghai for the last 10 years, I would say right now is by far the worst time to monger and things will not get better any time soon. All the amazing saunas are long gone, and the remaining options are super expensive with average service. For the price of a girl at Manhattans / Judy's, you would be better off saving that money for places like Thailand, Philippines, or Indonesia where you will get much more "bang" for your buck and better service. Sure, you might stumble upon an occasional gem at M & J, but you will be competing with tons of Chinese punters who are top of the food chain at those establishments. On top of this, the weather in Shanghai has been very risky this year, and with the upcoming National Week (70th anniversary of founding of PRC, quite a big deal for the country), there is an elevated risk of LE activity. M & J have been raided before. There are online options like Nightlife Online and Massage Republic, but the quality is not great. I would say, if you have time, fly to SH but add on a side trip to TH / PH / ID and save your money for those places. Safe travels.

However, reliable intel from other members suggest that those joints might soon close temporarily with the 70th anniversary of CCP around the corner. The outcall agencies are unreliable IMHO, with the exception of Nightlife. The strange thing about Shanghai is that they don't have discreet MPs with FS on the menu that SPECIALLY cater to Westerners like they do in Beijing (but these types of establishments suck anyway because the girls are usually old 3's, so no big loss). And now there are no BBSs or saunas, at least none that are easily accessible. This leaves MPs, but standard tip is 300 for mechanical HJ. Hope this helps with your decision.

Is it because we don't want the hotel to get into trouble? Anyway, at most Western hotels (e. G. Marriott, etc), an expensive mechanical HJ is usually available. At Chinese hotels (any hotel with a Chinese name), FS is almost always available, but the girl is usually a 3 and the tip is crazy expensive, like 2000. But, I sometimes still order room service because it's super convenient. The girl is at your room within minutes of you calling. When you call them, they will often ask if you're alone, to make sure you're not with your wife and asking for a legit massage. One time when I was in Beijing, I ordered room service at Crowne Plaza Hotel. Got FS, and the next day I saw that girl working at the hotel gift shop, LOL.
OK fellas, I know, this is only my 2nd ever post on ISG, and that I have been a lurker on here for a couple of years, but I hope I can bring something to the discussion.
I have lived in Shanghai for 6 years, and I agree with the posters below that this is by far the worst time to monger in Shanghai, and I'm now thinking of giving up for good. Now compared to some regular posters here, my mongering over the years has been very light. I have no experience of the saunas whatsoever, I have done takeout at Ms only once. Back in 2014 (I can't take anyone home these days for reasons you can probably guess), and my activity has mainly consisted of MPs (Spring etc.) with the usual extras thrown in.
Up to a couple of years ago it was nice, simple, and discrete. But now, given how LE and local govt has cracked down so heavily on the scene, I'm just not in the mood for it anymore. Here are my main reasons:
- However low the risk is, a quick HJ in an MP now just doesn't seem worth it. I run a business here that's going great, and I have an awful lot to lose if ever I was the slightest bit involved in a raid.
- The constant feeling of being watched. Whenever I feel like visiting a MP, more often than not, there'll be some shady looking guy sitting on a scooter in the street near the entrance surveying the situation. Of course I understand he may be there to raise the alarm in case the LE come knocking, but it just puts me on edge, and more often than not, just makes walk away and go home.
- The huge increases in price. When things go from 188 to 600 (or more depending on the tips they ask for) for the same service in just 3 or 4 years, it sure doesn't make you feel like going so often.
- The fact that you can no longer take a shower in the room. The last HJ I had was in July (Ronghua E road in case anyone is desperate for an underwhelming HJ, 298 +200 tip by a slightly plump 6 wearing trousers, plus I'm not even sure it's still open), and I was just wiped down with some hot towels afterwards. Not cool.
So there we go, I think I'm done, unless things to go back to how they were, but I highly doubt it.

This chain has gone through a few changes in recent years. Most recently, it seems that a tad more is on offer since the last crackdown, but prices have gone up since the recent reopenings. One guy reported that he got FS at the Madang location. During the recent closings, I met one girl from the Madang shop at her apartment for FS, but she still won't offer more than HJ at the shop. Just need to navigate the local neighborhoods to find relief. Some members are concerned of being seen by the locals but I think that is a bit overrated. Most people are too busy to notice and if you are really concerned you can always go during the evening when it is dark outside. Two hotels I was at in Jingan have a dedicated person at a desk checking for ID and asking if you are a tenant. Some providers will not come to a hotel anymore. I'll look for a service appartment.
Used to love visiting Shanghai so very sad to see the current state that it's in. Went scouting yesterday and confirmed that my go-to sauna is closed. Following up on my previous post, I would like to report that escort outcall service is not the best value for money. Just so you know HJ is included in the price at both location. You only need to pay 200-300 RMB tips if you wan't to have more access (taking top or / and bottom for free roaming). No reason to pay 500 in madang, they are just used to more people wasting money and more tourists not knowing the market.

Just so you know HJ is included in the price at both location. You only need to pay 200-300 RMB tips if you wan't to have more access (taking top or / and bottom for free roaming). No reason to pay 500 in madang, they are just used to more people wasting money and more tourists not knowing the market.
If you take a vip card you get 100 RMB off per each session (so 396 rmb). If you take a 5000 RMB card they have a promotion till the end of the month where you get +2000 rmb on your card so 7 k total and still 100 RMB off per hour.
I've recently been visiting Shanghai and trying out 2 locations of a well known massage chain, it's been mentioned plenty of times in the past here. I went 2 times to the Madang road branch and 2 times to the Jiangning road branch. In my experience the Jiangning road is much better, the girls I had were both much prettier (especially #72), the rooms had way more privacy (double doors) and the service felt better. At madang road both the negotiations for HJ started at 500, at Jiangning it started at 300, with #72 even assuming I wanted a BJ (which I don't).At the Madang location, the boss or manager sometimes asked if you paid a tip when leaving, to make sure you got a HJ without tipping for the 500 rmb massage. The whole area around Wuhan is quarrantined, most international airlines are discontinuing service to and from China for the foreseeable future (Delta Airline says they will not reoen service until at least the end of April), the New Years holiday has been extended to minimize people to people contact. No MPs are open. None of the NLO gals are working. Reports say J and M are closed. My opinion is that the part of the Chinese mongering scene that caters to Chinese will bounce back quickly. The part of the mongering scene that caters to non-Chinese has been in decline for sometime and will be very slow to recover. I do think it will recover and that the police will look the other way for awhile because everyone wants to make money. As for me I will not return to China in 2020. Being over 60 it is not worth the risk of traveling. To me the risk now is when traveling.

I guess there are different ways to access it. I get mine from my Alipay app. The code either has your face pic or your full name on it. The code indicates whether you've been in Shanghai for at least 14 days and if you've checked into a hospital recently. A green color code means you are "safe. " The MPs require seeing it for entry. And, many stores and businesses require seeing it too for entry. I guess any app that required your bank or passport information will be able to also tap your travel and hospital records and then is able to generate the QR code. On the one hand, I'm impressed by the technology and how well integrated the Chinese networks are, but on the other hand, it's a bit unsettling how little civil liberties we have. Oh well. It's their country, we just live here. Btw, if other resident mongers have additional information about this QR code, it would be great to know it.
