Several shops have been advised of incoming raids with no protection.
Many many shops in Huangpu, Minhang, Jing'an and some in Changning have closed for at least a week and until further notice.
Be safe!Yes I did wonder if something was going on. Saw a few places closed over the weekend. In a way it can be useful for the future as it's an indication of which shops provide certain services and which ones don't.

So I have finally decided to contact 'Cathy', she can be found on massage republic website and she's got her own website too. 1800 for an hour but in reality was much longer as her service is much more personal. Here are a few of the places I can recommend in ChangNing. First one is on Suicheng Lu not far from Carrefour. It used to be part of the Sp**g Massage chain.
One block south of Carrefour you can see a BeerPlus. Take the north-west entrance of the building (entrance is on the right when looking at BeerPlus from the small square with the clock) and take elevator to second floor. The menu is similar to what it used to be when is was part of Sp**g chain. The 398 option includes happy ending. Last time I went there I had massage with #16. She asked for 200 tip for roaming (she unbutton her shirt and took out her bra) and CBJ. She promised me when I left she would do it next time for 100 tip.
There is another place I would recommend next to line 10. On Yili Road station, take the Anshun Road on the East of the HongQiao Park.Hi.

You should take the entrance on the north-west corner of the building (not the one on the street side).
When reaching 2nd floor there should be only one MP.
They apparently raised a bit the prices.
Last week I had massage with #88, very cute girl with short hair and long legs.
Massage was quoted at 498. She had a zipped top that she soon unzipped. After a short back massage she started B2 be massage.
I think there is a 698 package that can give you BJ finish but did not get a chance to try it yet.

I haven't tested the 1010 Guyang Lu myself but I think MidWestern posted on this one in July last year.
You can find his post when searching for "Guyang".Whoa, good memory. Yeah, I went there the first week that it opened. I did not mention it back then, but I will mention it now, I got FS. And then I got the girl's WeChat, but when I tried to make another appointment with her, she said that we could not do FS ever again. And so I never returned. But some of those girls were transfers from two other shops that were HJ places that closed (this is how I found out about this place to begin with), and so I would assume that HJs are on offer at this location. But it's just an assumption. Like I said, I only went there once, and I got lucky, and that was almost a year ago.

I've been reading this forum for some while, really good stuff! Thank you for that. Decided I should make my own contribution and I just learned today that all places are now closed due to government layoffs. Apparently the places are protected by somehow government employees and they don't want to take any unnecessary chances. I also heard that this will continue until 20th of April.
I do have a few regular places, some offering FS, but really discreetly and only few specific girls. One place on yuyao road. They were across the street before, but now they have moved. I don't speak Chinese so didn't ask why.

I walked by there today and it is shut down, at least for now. I guess that answers the question of whether they were still offering extras.
I know about two places on Wanping road that are not bad.
The one you might be talking about is right south from the crossroad with Xietu, on the west side of the road, probably 50 m from the crossroad if I remember well. It should be easy to figure out because it's on a second floor so you'll see a wide staircase leading upwards. I suggest you start checking that west side of Wanping road from the crossroad with Xietu going south and you won't miss it. I had a nice session with number 11 there. I think somebody previously mentioned number 98 (not sure now) but when I asked for that number they said there isn't one with that number now.
Another good one on Wanping road is north from Xietu road, and south from the crossroad with Xingeng road, like 20-30 m to it. On the west side of the road. This one is a Spring massage. I have had great experiences there since years, but recently they are fucking it up. The reason is a general decay in many small details not uncommon to other places: prices went up, girls quality went down, girls annoying asking for tips to even touch their breast, general bad attitude. All in all there is still one, number 97, who is smoking hot and would give FS for extra charge. She is a bit of a piece of work, and her prices also have been going up within the last three years. But she is pretty hot and young and I guess that if's within your budget, keeping her happy will improve the service.

He said that he tried the SPA one, and got a veggie massage. Well, the other MP is definitely also a veggie MP because it is a Yili shop, and all Yili shops are veggie.
So, what am I doing wrong? I'm a foreigner, and so they obviously know that I am not an undercover cop and they also know that I am looking for some naughty action, and yet they said they have no off menu option. Is it because I went there in the early afternoon, maybe? Sometimes the off menu gals only work the late shift. TIA.

I went there today. Man, it was not what I expected. It is a huge, huge operation. There were guys going up and down the stairs, to the spa, nonstop. And this was 2 pm in the afternoon on a Wednesday. I wanted to enter discreetly. So, I waited a few minutes for the foot traffic to die down, but it never did. So, I just went up the stairs, with people going past me up and down.
The reception room is big, full of people, and was very active. Several guys in headsets and several girls at the front desk are helping customers. A guy in a headset comes over to me and kind of loudly asks me what I wanted, and he is obviously in a hurry. He is a little loud because the place was noisy. I hesitated, and mumbled something, and the guy gives me a weird look, and suddenly I feel a dozen eyes looking at me (but this is probably my paranoia). One of the front desk girls starts to say something to us. I finally took a breath and told the guy that I wanted a massage (in Chinese, of course). He hesitates, and then he starts yelling into his headset and he takes me to a room.
As we are walking, I am in awe at how big this place is, and how busy it is. We walked past over a dozen girls, yes, literally over dozen, probably more. And there are a lot of guys in headsets running around, and janitors are everywhere, and half naked guys walking to and from the shower rooms.
Once in my room, I tried to talk to the headset guy, but he rushed off and told me to wait. A half minute later, a tall, kind of hot gal, walks in. She is disinterested. I tried to chat her up, but she just tells me to put on shower shoes and we walk out to the shower rooms. Again, we walk by a lot of people on our way to the shower room. And then it was not easy to find an empty shower. We went from one shower room, to another, all full, but finally found an empty shower stall.
Anyway, back in the room, service was very mechanical. Will not bore you guys with the details. But yeah, there was some BJ. But at one point, no lie, she looks at her cell phone during our session. However, I am sure that YMMV with regard to gal and service. Like I said, there were a lot of gals at this place, with varying degrees of hotness and body type, though every gal looked 30 something.

I asked to get a massage with #150 as I was intrigued (and a bit aroused) by previous report.
Guy said she was busy but would be done in 10 min. So I accepted to wait and he led me to a room.

This visit goes back to May, but a friend and I visited 3 locations and I'm quite curious about what happened.
First location was a place called "Judy's" opposite the Kerry Center. This isn't the location I expected as everything I saw on the Internet said that Judy's and Manhattan are on the same road, but this place bills itself as Judy's.

As Midwestern points out there are 2 types:
- Those with a door fee + tip fee.
- Those with a higher door fee but no tips allowed.
More and more places have gone semi veggie as in only HJ and fully clothed lady are delivered.
Often they provide normal massage service too (different providers) including to female guests. It makes raids more complicated as you can bust a naughty service or a fully legit one.
Some places offer BJ for extra price.
Some will offer nude massage and some kind of B2 B for extra price.
Very few will offer FS.
As for prices aside from some cheap place with 398 fee and no tips, most are in the 698 category. Some high end are 998 for normal girls and 1298 for prettier girls.

The former spring which now has a y... Spa chain is a big target lately. Their Xietu road shop is now going to be perma veggie after over a month of being veggie.

I usually google wechat IDs to see where else they've posted, compare the posts / photos, and see if they're listed on multiple cities / countries. I wouldn't worry about name changes, ladies rebrand from time to time (although sometimes it's to get a fresh profile and avoid a negative ad).

Tried out the site 91 Meimei yesterday, and figured I'd share some insights. My mandarin is okay which is good because chrome's translate function didn't seem to work. First off, you have to register to select a city. There's no authentication so you can put in any email. The site works a lot like how others had described that mshequ site. You need to buy and use their "coins" to unlock contact information. From other reports, people said you can post your reviews with hidden contact info to get coins (I'll explain how this affects users in a moment).
I chose to pay the 58 for 300 coins. After paying via QR, you need to input the last 8 digits of the transaction and your wechat name, then wait 5 minutes. I'm not sure if it's the ID or your name as it appears to others, so I tried both and can't say which did it. Bit uneasy having put that info in, but figured if there's a list, I'd would already be on it from the last 15 years.
I used coins 5 times (10-15 per), and results were very hit or miss. 3 were just QQ numbers which I don't have yet, one was a defunct wechat ID, and one was a wechat ID of somebody totally different from the photo posted. In their bio section, there were other phone numbers listed, and all those led to different people. I didn't add anybody as I wasn't ready to meet, and based on how little they resembled the original post, led me to wonder. What I'm guessing is somebody wanted coins and posted a photo that would get a lot of action.

To me things seem quite relaxed at this moment. All places with curtains pulled during the expo are open, and since the 10th, I have been to 3 different MPs, each one in a different part of the city, and haven't felt in any danger. I've even noticed some new places out west. I'm trying to get several visits in before the weather undoubtedly turns bad in the run up to CNY. So although things don't seem so bad right now, discretion is still very much the order of the day.

Your question comes at the perfect timing though since I was about to inform of an alternative place on Jumen Rd 293. They guy from the Wanping Rd place recommended me to, and so did one of the girls who used to work at Wanping Rd, who just moved there. It is not clear but it sounds like the new jumen is related to wanping, although I don't know at which level now. But at least we can say some of the girls moved from one place to another. This plus the fact that the guy working at wanping ended up suggesting me to go there after asking him for the state of things on wanping several times, tells that probably things on wanping won't go back to what it used to be for a while, or at least there's no plan for it so far.

We had a couple of local infections in Shanghai recently, and as a result thousands of people are now in lockdown. Many people have been locked down NOT because they were in close contact with a sick person, but they were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. I didn't like either some girls who were charging 700 and had been reported for free on boards suddenly charged 1 k then 1. 2 k on his website (the girls had to pay a commission so I don't blame them but I blame the pimp).

If you are looking for an arrangement, then why not try to hook up with migrant workers, these are the gals that come from the rural parts of China to work in Shanghai. These are the waitresses, housekeepers, nannies, subway security guards, shopkeepers, cashiers, convenience store employees, etc. Many years ago, there was a guy in the Beijing thread that used to brag about his many, many hookups with these migrant workers, and I ignored him. However, in the past few years, I have discovered that he was right all along. These gals are lonely, they are poor, and they are extremely flattered when foreigners are interested in them. If you want pointers, then let me know.
A pretty easy target are masseuses, especially if they work at a jack shack. Many of them have BFs that pay for their rent (about 4,000 RMB per month) and provide a monthly stipend (from 6,000 to 10,000 RMB per month). Shanghai is one of the last places on the planet I would use seeking tbh. In other major cities you could at least do a calculated guess on the number of millionaire competitors you'll have, in Shanghai you multiply that number by at least 50. So unless you don't mind dropping a few thousand dollars on a girl, Shanghai would be a serious no go for most guys on here.
I'll give you two examples from my anecdotal experience. First is a girl I spoke to on there, 19, about to go to one of the foreign unis in China, wanted a $200 meet up without any actual sugar! Subsequent meet-ups with sugar would be for 2 hrs max for $700 because she had to "study". LOL no.
Second anecdote, a p4 p Eastern European girl I picked up from tinder, was happy with 3 k CNY overnight as she was doing this part time. As soon as she got on seeking she started receiving offers of 10 k overnight minimum. It's been ridiculous to the point of guys flying her around the country offering her x0,000 rmb for entire weekends (sometimes entire weeks), always housed in 5 star hotels paid for by them. Last time I was in touch with her in the summer, she was up well over 500 k rmb in the space of 3 months.
That was my cue to respectfully bow out of seeking in this part of the world. When I'm outside China I'll be sure to return to the app.

Thanks for sharing this. I looked at seeking in Shanghai a few times during the past few years, and it did not look encouraging, and your experience further confirms my hunch.

Somewhat counterintuitively, the situation with MPs being open, but yoga classes closed, may make sense from a statistical perspective. Omicron is so contagious that doing yoga next to somebody may be (almost) as risky as a massage. If that is the case, at least the 1-1 massage is not a super-spreading event, while a yoga class can infect dozens.
Sort of related, I have seen a new, somewhat mysterious phrase in the official case announcements the past few days: "xx tested positive when they were screened as high-risk groups". Does anybody know if massage service providers are being especially screened these days?

I lived in China for several years followed that adage. There are some points against someone in your own compound these being that it would be difficult to chase someone else, difficult to bring an outsider in later on, a cooperative neighbour may become possessive, an angry husband or boyfriend may come on the scene, gossip will happen and the tale change and become exaggerated (walls have ears and eyes), I don't know about your neighbourhood but mine still had denunciation boxes on the walls, your employer or the local Party people may be contracted and lastly involvement of the law.
Just my thoughts, best to play away from home. Do you still get to go to the supermarket? Maybe some opportunity there especially if they have a more lax or non existent security where they live.

This will surely limit the freewheeling SWs on Yanping who take you into a nearby housing complex to a deserted stairwell.

So to go into a public place, we have to scan a code that will show a green code and that we have taken the covid test within the last 48 hours. The few regulars that I have made in HZ asked if I could pay in cash so their exact location won't be compromised by the wechat / alipay app. I guess, it's for in case I have visited an area that pops up with a covid case.
I did visit a spot a few months back that didn't do any scanning but took payment by cash or wechat / alipay. But HZ hasn't been locked down like SH so they might be a little bit more on edge coming out of that.

At this point, I think that we should all just assume that no matter what, our whereabouts can always be tracked down. And so, if you do any mongering, then have plausible dieniability. For example, do not go to sleezy MPs, do not check into a hotel, and do not do incalls (how can you explain why you were in a run-down compound, which is where many incalls reside? If you are able to do outcalls, that might be your best bet, although I usually do not like it when these gals know where I live, and so any time I did outcalls I always told them the place belongs to my friend.
As for me, I was flirting with my veggie masseuse pre-lockdown, and when I returned, I continued my flirting. We actually made out the last time I was there and she stroked little bro while we were making out. And then I tipped her when I left. Sure, these veggie providers are not the hottest gals on earth, and many look like Shrek, but if one if halfway decent, then maybe lower the standards for now and try your luck. So if you are going to go for it, a legit MP providing veggie options as well as extras is probably your safest bet.

She gave me a locker key & led me to a shower room & left me to shower & put on a pair of pyjamas. Back to the room & she asked if I wanted her to change into a Japanese schoolgirl outfit (every room seemed to have one, which I assume it their Cosplay attire). What she was wearing was fairly sexy so I was good with that.
I lay with my head in her lap and she gave me a head / shoulder / face massage. And then she started asking me a load of questions. BTW, I had a similar experience recently at another MP. This one is on the corner of Yaohong Lu and Guyang Lu. This place is brand new. Was quoted 1280, but after about 15 minutes into the massage, she starts asking me a ton of questions. (BTW, she was old and fat.) I have no idea what she's asking. Then she leaves and a manager walks in and starts quoting me membership prices. I actually got suckered and paid a little extra, hoping that this would get me a new and improved provider and experience, but then it was the same provider and it was a crappy attempt at a t.j. to loud rock music. Just walk in, point (or talk Chinese, if you manage), pay and go out.
I have tried a few other Lei Yun Shang Pharmacies, in Puxi and Pudong, and never really had an issue with them; but that just might have been luck. Other Pharmacies though always have blocked me, asked for prescription and / or ID.
So if I were you, I would locate the nearest Lei Yun Shang Pharmacy and just try my luck. If they don't have it, too bad. If they ask ID, just tell you forgot it and walk out; just a bit embarassing. But otherwise, you have a good permanent convenient place to buy it.

The good news is that Manhattan has re-opened on Dec 15 albeit at a new location at 56 Maoming Lu. Now as I cannot yet get to China I have no idea of this exact location but so interesting that it has now relocated back to Maoming Lu where it once was over 20 years ago. Amazing.
Hopefully we can get back on those planes and head to China with ZERO quarantine on arrival in 1st qtr 2023 - time will tell.

I suspect they are because the embassies of China have started accepting applications for new visas. But cannot find anything in writing.

As of January 8, 2023, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates-General in the US will adopt the following new requirements for Chinese visa application.
(Please note: At the current stage, multi-year multiple-entry visas issued before March 26,2020 are still suspended of use. If such visa holders need to go to China at this stage, they can apply for a new visa according to the requirements of this notice. Visa applications for tourism and medical treatment in China are temporarily not accepted.).

The vlogger has recently done a series on Chongqing (a huge city, located within Sichuan Province). Many alleyways reveal providers. I am guessing but the going rate might be 100 RMB, or for some providers, 150 RMB. Determined by supply and demand, of course.
His footage is a delightful reminder of my days in China. Every district, almost, in the second and third tier city had their delightful alleyways, and neglected corners where it was easy to indulge the hobby. Of course, a knowledge of the language was helpful!
These alleyways are usually immune from regular policing.
