Here is a short story about long term commitments! I no longer live in Shanghai although I just visited on business for a couple of weeks and I obviously had fun around. I visited an old establishment were I used to go 10 years ago. It's a reputable massage / spa chain that doesn't really offer any additional services. For many years I visited the same girls, to the point of getting to know them well and get their personal numbers, book appointments directly with them, etc. Over the years we fooled around many times in the establishment and I regularly got all the extras I could (except FS) at the place itself.

But it's a fact that when high profile events are going on, the risk is simply higher and raids are more frequent. If this wasn't the case, places wouldn't have their curtains drawn during certain periods, and have them wide open at other times.

Anybody remember the "Luxury Hair Wash" business at the corner of Wanhangdu & Beijing West roads about 15 years ago? I stuck my bald head into the doorway and asked how much for service. "300. Ofc if you hit some outskirt places or some very old buildings ones where they also sometimes operate it is very easy to stand out. But also older nongtang in city center have many foreigners living there so it's also somewhat okay.
The issue mostly however is that she serves alot of customers they probably going to notice people coming and going which is slightly less noticeable in an elevator building like I said earlier. Also girls do suggest to 1) not knock 2) leave one floor earlier or later and walk the stairs etc.
Also some operate out of smaller services apartments that's like hotels that also ok. Esp in xuhui area there are some that are in small-mid serviced apartments that have a lot of coming and goings that make it easy to mask your coming and going.

Then the FS MPs slowly started to disappear. Then agencies started to disappear (like RAIN, and of course there was SNG, and others). Then J and M became lame. OK so new Manhattan now at 56 Maoming Nan Lu and is open and operating in a very limited format. It is brand new fit out inside. Very loud music. Lots of flashing lights.

Saunas disappeared a long time ago. I think there's still a small number of HJ massage shops in the longming Road / Caobao Road area, not far from where you are. The shops down there were closed for a while but I think there are a few places open again. Can't guarantee you'll find anything as I've not tried down there for a while, but maybe head for low-key shops with small, basic storefronts, marked simply 'Spa' with a couple of Chinese characters. Tried a couple new massage parlor. 1) yongjia between south shaanxi and Jiashan. Window shop. Wouldn't bother to report as it's the usual HJ type window shop with ugly older women. If you are new to Shanghai and are looking to monger, then my best advice is to book a gal on Nightlife Online (see China classified forum). This is the easiest way to do it. Some of them can host, some cannot. The pictures are largely accurate. The reviews of the gals are pretty accurate too.
I am absolutely not a shill for that service. But I am friends with most of the gals on there, some I have known for many years, and so I am trying to help them by bringing business to them.
Regarding other venues: the pickup bar scene now sucks (read the forum) and there is no sauna scene. But if you are Chinese and can speak Chinese, then there's much more avaliable to you, but I am not Chinese nor can I speak Chinese, and so I do not know their scene.
For MPs, unless it is a famous chain, most offer extras, but mostly just a happy ending. Choose the SPA option on the menu. But it will be quite expensive.
The to my knowledge current P4P situation in Shanghai is:
NLO: nightlife online (in classifieds) free registered membership is required, about 8-10 girls sometimes rotating. If you don't want to register or wait for approval then see below. Slightly cheaper overall depending on girl for foreigners orientated market.
MR: Massage Republic. Some of the girls in NLO are also on MR, but there's also some that aren't like a couple of viets, couple latinas, couple Africans. Not sure about the Russians there Iam pretty sure it's all agency, but the others should be mostly individuals. Prices usually like 2000 + taxi on average for 1 h there though.
Judy and Manhattans: both moved depending on when the last time you were in Shanghai / there. But now have anywhere from 5-15 viet girls in most days. Most of them speak chinese now due to Covid starving out foreigners last 3 years. Most of them do also now drinking with you for a fee just like how the chinese like it. That's 800 for 1-2 hours drinking and 2000-2500 for ST after.

However if you walk around in the old places such as Jia Shan / shanxi / yuyuan / haifang road in the city center areas or the hongqiao / gubei areas and try to look into massage places that are more rundown and shady you will get be able to get a handy for a fee. Quality pretty low though. Prices really vary from the package you select to girl. 300-2000.
SA: seeking arrangements, not really working here since you need a veep and most locals don't know, but you bet that most working girls / agents do actually know what is a veep as they use it for telegram, see below. SA doesn't work like it does in other Asian cities or Europe, but occasionally 1-2 travelers or others can be found. If you have a sub for whatever reason it can't hurt to have a look for a lottery hit.
Telegram: there's actually a lot of users on telegram, which requires a veep to use use. Often you can find channels with groups as you said and find more other advertises and providers and expand from there.
Talk to profile girl, which is more than likely to be an agent. If its outcall my experience its bait and switch as I reported in post #14316. For outcall you usually have to give them your address and phone, then they dispatch someone and when they in taxi they usually call you to confirm. On arrival you can leave or take her. If you don't take her be prepared to pay taxi fee. I usually give them an address nearby so if I don't take them they don't make a scene, esp if I don't give taxi fee. I often say nowadays that they need to provide real photo or I don't pay taxi.
If its incall usually its the same girl. If incall just make an appointment, head to the address, usually they tell you not the exact place and ask guide you in the last step either through call or msg. They leave door open so you can go in without knocking / ringing bell, which they will tell you also. Pay and do deed.

Hi, I'm a long time lurker and was active many years ago (when saunas were still present, I was a regular at the one underneath the hotel inside Shanghai Stadium in Xuhui).
I read all the posts and I'd like to contribute first before asking, but unfortunately my sources are all outdated.

Just a quick update on Shanghai. I was there 3 nights Jul 23 to 26 - I did have a couple of contacts from previous visits so daytime action was taken care of. I did not visit Manhattan as girls were telling me a lot girls had shifted from MH to Judys as better business there. Judys did have a few absolutely stunning Viets. I took 3 diff Viets over the 3 nts at 2 K ea. Just perfect bodies and perfect experienced performers. Ther girl on 3rd nt usually sits and talks tio Chinese guys at RMB800 for 2-3 hrs. I did grab her just as she left 1 guy. I was staying 500 mtrs away in Shangri-La so walked there each nt and RMB20 scooter ride back to hotel with conquest each night just a perfect set up.
One of my daytime girls suggested I should go to La Suite where plenty Africans, Russians, Ukrainians etc are working. I did visit but it was closed on Monday nt so check opoening before you head there.

Where is the New Judy's location? I often used to have a drink and food in the Blind Pig then head along to Judys later.

I miss the days of Zapatas and Sasha's where it was a non mongering option but could still get some action if you wanted.

Blind Pig way gone but Pistolera which was above Blind Pig has a big new outlet in Portman Ritz complex. Great tex mex and still walking distance Judys. Chilli's is over the road but is crap compared to Pistolera.
YERS Xin Tian Di still there but with so few foreigners in town now the numbers of working girls also way down. Found 158 is worth a look later in week / weekend but depends how much time you have to waste. Judys is a monty so is def best bet in town.

Thanks.Pretty sure I mentioned La Suite as one of the first in this topic in my report below on all of Shanghai. La Suite is not a hooker bar like Judy and Manhattan at all. Your going to get slapped and maybe even kicked out if you approach people with the mind of 'how much for ST and LT' most of time.
La Suite is a club, with I would say 50% 'models' therefore alot of russians uzbek brazilians, and whilst some of them may be doing some sex work on the side, they rarely display it in the clubs like you might be used to in UAE / Dubai etc. 50% rest are normal party goers students, locals etc.
Your not going to find something like Red Square, Czar, Premier with Russians, uzbeks in Dubai or what used to be Mango, Maggies in Beijing (now closed also) etc. The closest to that in Shanghai is Judy and Manhattans but its filled with Viets 890% and maybe 20% local / thai / africans.
But if after all that you still want to go to La Suite and try your luck or more or less try your game, because again, don't try the pay for play approach, you need to flirt, buy drinks approach here is the link with address and description.

They seem to target foreigners and have no issue using English to communicate (but I used mandarin).

With the first girl I was brought to a bar. The menu had incredibly inflated drink and food prices. And she proceeded to order a large amount of food and drinks. For two people we had 32 shots of tequila, a large plate of desserts, and two or three cocktails with the total coming to 2800 rmb.
I had been drinking earlier that night with some friends so didn't think much of it until after the bill came and I realized this was likely a scam. And as soon as the bill was piad the girl was in a hurry to get me in a taxi to leave.
The day after I met up with another tinder date who asked me or meet in the same area. The first red flag was she didn't look like her photos, but I decided to run with it to see how this would unfold, with the full intention of only paying for any drinks I purchased for myself and nothing for the girl. We then proceeded to walk and talk with her bringing up the idea of stopping again to have a drink. I told her I was very full from lunch and that I didn't drink alcohol, but she proceeded to pick a bar. After sitting in the bar I decided to change the venue to see how she would react. I had a snarling suspicion that the bar (and the one form the previous night) were all set up together as their menus were almost identical (items, layout, price). To give some perspective, a glass of sprite was 75 rmb. I asked to leave and told her I would prefer a coffee shop. We then walked for a bit longer before she chose another shop in the alley. This coffee shop was small and only had two small rooms that closed off. The server brought me a menus that was IDENTICAL to the ones from the previous two stores. I ordered only a single lemon water (20 rmb) and once again, the girl proceeded to begin ordering alcohol, and a large plate of desserts and fruit that made no sense for two people. After about 10 minutes I told her I needed to leave to meet some friends and she then said that was no problem I just needed to pay for the bill first. I then told her, the north American was that we each paid for what we ordered. She then begin flustered and said that in China the custom is for guys to pay on the first meeting.
I told her because it was the first meeting I wasn't going to lay for a bunch of food that I didn't order for someone I just met. She then tried to get me to at least pay for the drinks saying she would pay for all the desserts by herself.
In the end, I only paid my 20 rmb for my lemon water and then she asked me to leave. It was quite satisfying leaving and watching her pouting over having all the food and drinks left on the table unpaid for.
All these bars seem to be a front to scam customers so I would avoid spots that don't have proper reviews or have no online presence.
Long story short, if you encounter a girl who is pushy and adamant in similar circumstances, you should probably be wary. Stick by your guns and don't get ripped off! I've had some good experiences using dating apps here but still need to be wary as scammers are everywhere.

And, do not forget the fake pedestrian hit by car scam wherein someone runs and jumps on a car, lays on the road prostrate and then demands compensation.
A lot of this is going on in many countries in one form or another.

I told her that was it, no more orders as it was time to leave. So the bill comes and it's about 400-450 rmb. I didn't argue, just paid and left. Needless to say, I didn't score that night! Hahaha! But lesson learned and haven't been scammed since!

All you did was buy someone who was very hungry some food.Yes it's good to be careful of scams, but some guys just get wayy too paranoid when all the girl wanted was have drinks, eat and get to know you. Unless one's got the looks of an actor, being stingy and paranoid on your first date is the sure-fire way to not get laid.

I got hit by a similar scam from tinder girl. First meet she suggest a hot pot place a few minutes after we meet and I agreed. Proceeds to order all sorts of expensive stuff and alcohol. This was not a high class looking spot so I didn't really pay attention to prices. I thought it would be 1-2 k at most. When the bill came it was over 10k. I negotiated it down to half but still got ripped off badly.
If you find yourself in this position just call the cops. That’s what I regret not doing. It was my first date in China and I was caught unaware and didn’t know how to respond. I will just meet girls for coffee dates first meeting and if they insist on drinking I know it’s probably a scam.

I insisted that I only pay cash (by this point I was just round the corner from her place). She then said the other guy just paid the deposit and that she'll take him instead, so that was it.
Most likely a scam I would say, as I have heard of fake providers taking 200 rmb deposits and then disappearing. Remember that 200 rmb is still a fair amount of money to some in China in these less desirable economic times, and so to them it's worth the hustle.
Anyway no big deal, the only thing I lost out of this was about an hour of my time. There are still options on TG, but when you factor in the time and hassle it takes to find anything half decent, you wonder whether it's all worth it.

While we're on the subject of scams, I thought I would try P4 P on TG again yesterday, but I wasn't so lucky this time. I found a profile that seemed legit, exchanged a few messages and arranged to go to her place in one hour. So I was really just asking what might be logistically the best option. I do of course note the other reply to my original question that my layover isn't long enough. There are a couple of shops on Lancun Road opposite the Hilton Pudong, but they're not so near PVG, about 20-30 min by taxi. The to my knowledge current P4P situation in Shanghai is:
Massage places: mostly down, they couldn't survive the 3 year China strict Covid pandemic, no one in this industry who were selling flesh could due to the GPS, lockdown, policing back then in terms of contact etc which felt a bit george orwelly at some point. However if you walk around in the old places such as Jia Shan / shanxi / yuyuan / haifang road in the city center areas or the hongqiao / gubei areas and try to look into massage places that are more rundown and shady you will get be able to get a handy for a fee. Quality pretty low though. Prices really vary from the package you select to girl. 300-2000. hit.
Saunas: tbh I see and her advertisements for sauna but Iam not sure they truly exist and due to the LE nature Iam not trusting to test it. VN is Vietnamese, and TG is the Telegram app, which, despite needing a VPN, the Chinese have been using it for mongering (or 'driving' as they call it, lol) for at least a couple of years now. It's useful for finding naughty MPs and freelancers, but you have to put the work in (everything is in Chinese) and know how to detect the fake stuff, scams, etc. It's probably a bit too much to navigate for someone who's only here for a couple of nights.

In general I'm more of a MP man than P4 P.
