Hi everybody,
After getting some very nice information from a very friendly taxi driver, I went to this location in Xuhui district, I don't want to post now the exact location of this places for obvious reason, specialy at this time of the year before getting the agreement of some more veteran mongers of this forum. So around this place, there is approximately ten very nice shop they have a very nice window where you can see the girls right threw it. All of the girls are dressed very "sexy" making it obvious what kind of business is going on here.. You even have some cut nurse and secretary! So after walking around for a bit I entered one with a very very cut nurse, in that shop they were 4 girls, and 2 were wearing nurse outfit. The "nurse" took my hand and I followed here in a tiny little room.
So now here come the tricky part where I have much questions. The taxy driver told me it was 300 for FS, but does FS include BBBJ or CBJ or not? On the positive side, from RTFF, I have also quoted the price posted here in the forum, stating a friend told me and have quickly had the price reduced from original quote.
Also, at this BBS, my guess is one pop or one hour, whatever comes first; sooner they are done, sooner they can grab another customer.

I visited China in January on a “grand tour” of some of the best mongering areas, based on information on ISG, and it was a blast. Covered Shanghai, Changping (Dongguan), Chengdu and Xi’an and had an amazing time. Even when the experience was less than expected it was still well worth it. In following posts I will include reports on the places I visited in Shanghai. Reports on places in Changping, Chengdu and Xi‘an will be posted on the specific threads.
I write this brief introductory note to tip my hat to all fellow mongers that feed this forum with useful and updated information. Occasional travelers to China, like myself, could never find some of these establishments if not for the goodwill and sense of camaraderie of the more experienced among us. So, cheers to all of you guys that make ISG such a great forum!

I went to Golden 18 on the very night I arrived in Shanghai, in mid-January. A good friend was waiting for me at the airport (he's now living in Shanghai, the lucky bastard!) and, as I had promised I'd show him the best the city has to offer, I took him straight to the sauna!
Directions in the forum are very good, but since some brothers still seem to have trouble finding it, let me try my hand at it as well. As you come out of Jing'An Temple subway station (Line 2), walk west on Nanjing Lu. On your right, you will pass the building where 1856 sauna (also visited. Review to follow) is located, with the big yellow "Shanghai N. 1 Restaurant" sign. Another brother has posted a picture of the building's facade a few pages back, which I found very useful in locating the building. The next street is Urumqi Lu. Turn right and walk about 100 meters, the entrance to Golden 18 (there's a sing with the name as well) will be on your right.
At first impression, a great ambiance. I liked the nightclubbish décor, but missed the opportunity to have a shower by myself and maybe a little sauna before the action. I had had a previous experience at the 999 sauna (also reviewed on ISG), during a trip to Shanghai two years back, There, the shower and sauna facilities are quite spacious and comfortable. In Golden 18, after changing into a robe, we were led straight to the fishbowl. Not that I could complain much, since selection was great and my friend was visibly impressed that such a place existed just three blocks away from where he lives (again, lucky bastard!).
We chose our girls and were led to our respective rooms. Mine had a round bed with roof mirror and attached shower facility. Service was very good, with catbath, AR, the works. I particularly liked when, during BBBJ, she put a condom on my right foot toe and sit on it!
Price was 900 RMB, no surprises there. Overall, a very good experience.

First of all, I’m happy to report that the red rope service is available in 1856 sauna. I understand that some fellow mongers were searching information on red rope a few pages back on this thread, so here it goes: In 1856 I was offered a great red rope experience!
However, I believe this service to be available only at the 768 RMB rooms. 1856 has two price options, depending on the kind of room, and the most expensive ones are 768 RMB. I think the other rooms are about 100 RMB cheaper. At first, I did not realize the red rope routine would be available, because I didn’t see the poles around the bed, as is the case in other establishments that offer the service. The room had a queen size bed and attached bathroom, two reclining seats and individual closet (with locker) for you to change into your robe.
So, I was a bit surprised when, midway down a great BBBJ, the girl produced a long red fabric from a plastic bag and reached for the ceiling, on top of the bed, where there was a small hanger, like those used for hanging towels at the bathroom. I admit that it didn’t appear too safe (and the prospect of a girl falling off the ceiling with her mouth around my cock was less than arousing), but I managed to change the routine a little bit, get on my knees and, while she was still hanging upside down, fuck her mouth while playing with her pussy. They didn’t pay much attention to the Westerner with them, not until we all got out of the elevator in the fourth floor and I followed them into the very secluded entrance to the sauna (hidden between two pinball machines in a games arcade). That’s when I started to get some curious stares and friendly remarks.
By now, I was thinking: “Great, by the time these guys make their choices in the fishbowl, there won’t be any attractive girls left and I’ll have only leftovers!” Entering the sauna, they asked me to change my shoes for some slippers and let me to the room. A few minutes later, already in my robe and anxious to try and “beat the crowd,” I was led to the fishbowl. To my initial dismay, the rowdy group of Chinese was there, speaking loudly to the management and considering their choice of girls. It was at this point that the most outspoken among them hugged me, asked me in broken English where I was from and said: “Welcome to China!” Then, pointing at the lovely group of ladies on the other side of the glass, said with a smile: “You first!!” After some consideration (aided by enthusiastic suggestions from the group), I made my selection, which was greeted with cheers and good wishes from all of them!!

I have had such a great experience in 999 sauna during a visit to Shanghai in 2008 that I kept the sauna’s business card and promised myself to visit it again should I have the opportunity. So, I'm happy to report that service there is still very good.
I brought a friend who was not aware of the sauna scene in China, and we had a good time drinking and relaxing in the comfortable sofas of one of the VIP rooms (no extra charge). On my solo visits, I had been taken to a larger room with a number of seats, where different punters (all Asian) were watching TV, smoking and drinking. This time, I enjoyed the extra privacy of the VIP room. I guess they figured that two Westerners would prefer to have a resting room for themselves, and they were right.
After a shower, we had a beer and some tomatoes (!!) - yes, they served tiny red tomatoes as snacks, and they were actually tasty and refreshing - in the VIP room while I tried to give my friend an idea of what to expect.
In the fishbowl, selection was great, with many young slim girls and the occasional busty ones. While I went for the good looks (I like to look at their faces while I'm at it), I suggested my friend to choose the one with the largest breasts, since the soapy routine would be his first, and he gladly accepted.
Service was as great as before, although I must say that the room they gave me, apart from being very small, showed some signs of wear. After visits to Golden 18 and 1856 (both newer and more centrally located), facilities in 999 seemed to require a little upgrade. But, again, neither Golden 18 nor 1856 had proper shower and sauna facilities. There were poles around the bed and straps to hang a girl upside down, but no red rope was offered (nor asked). This time I skipped the whole catbath routine and, having had a shower before coming to the room, moved straight to the action. Malones was empty - Judys had a dozen people inside - 4 or 5 w.hores - Manhattan was bursting at the seams. I spoke to quite a few of the w.hores - Phils / Chinese / Viets / Malays from Sing - all indicated they were staying in Shanghai over the holiday period.
I was really disappointed at the quality of the girls and as I had an early start actually went home empty handed.
This was my first visit to new location - I nearly fell over when I opened the door and saw that they actually relocated the o'old bar' out of the 'old location' talk about feel at home. At midnight there were more guys than girls there - I hate those odds.
Changed a bit over next hour - but I just find it difficult to give the Phils or Viets the price they want for their inferior quality.

My experience is that most girls will accept 700 to 1000...though I'm certainly not the best negotiator. Rarely have I met a girl in Manhattan that wouldn't settle for 1000.

It's all about supply and demand, isn't it? Admittedly, I haven't partaken of any Russian girls in China (yet). The thing is... I've lived in Moscow for 10 years, and though I can't say I've had my fill of Russian girls, I also can't say that I seek them out when I'm abroad on business trips. This is because most of the "Russians" I've met in China have been from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, rural Ukraine and far eastern Russia. In other words... not St. Petersburg, and certainly not Moscow.

there are lots of "high class" women in shanghai if by "high class" you mean smart, educated, with good jobs and enough english for an extended conversation. one finds them in the same places one would anywhere. nice clubs, where they work, on the street or subway if you happen to have eye contact and an opening for a gambit. occasionally one or two might be on websites like "enjoy shanghai" or other expat sites, but that's rare. most of the ads on the sites in shanghai are hookers or their pimps (if the english is really good with western idioms, it's probably a foreign pimp who wrote it).

Anyway, there are certainly options. First and foremost I'd say KTV's - there are plenty of high class ones. Jin Bi on Huai Hai lu comes to mind. Search KTV's and I think several reported on here should be high class. KTV girls definitely offer the highest end in terms of money and of attractiveness (on a consistent basis I mean, not that you can't find hot girls everywhere). Bear in mind though those are really for groups, not solo appearances.

Great first report. Thanks for sharing your experience. Sarcosa is usually busy. If you want to take advantage of the discount, you might have to get used to being stuck in one of those big room. If your Chinese is good enough, you may want to try your luck with the manager next time and insist on having a single room. If you are willing to try your luck with a reduced lineup, get there early (like between 12-130) OR fork out the extra 100 and get there later (between 7-9).

But, before going any further, I should point out that it is closed. Unless another company takes over, the previous entertainment company (based out of Hong Kong) was asked to close it. Reason given was close proximity to the Bund. However, this entertainment company does operate other facilities in Shanghai that are somewhat discrete, as they mainly cater to the local community. Access to these facilities (if you're not a local) needs to done by calling the Hammer Commander in advance. If you are a foreigner, then at one facility in particular, you must go in the daytime. They do not service foreigners in the evening as they do not want regular local club members having to wait.
Not many reports were written about the Royal Silver Spring Sauna at Hengsheng, but a few can be found. I hesitated to write much about it because it had very discrete offerings. Some of the very best service in town could be found there. The assistant manager used to spend time describing the girls, the ranking system, and how they aimed to provide consistent service through standardized training. They segregated the girls according to those who could service foreigners, and those who could not. In this way, they avoided the issue of "size complaints" from the customers.
Furthermore, they had some of the girls classified as "skills" girls. These girls had proven performance over a significant time period and could be verified through customer feedback. And they were really good. On one occasion the Hammer Commander (assistant manager) was chatting with me in the ready room. I was waiting on number 12 at the time. He described how the girls were trained by a 25 year old in-hose trainer. They were all trained in this little trademark opening routine where they did this little dance in the 'costume of the day'. Went back to Sarcosa this afternoon after a miss at a BBS (see my last post).
Got number 190 from a lineup of 3 (the other 2 were IMHO not doable).

In short, yes, it can. The best way to identify LB's is their hands and feet. Those are, at least I've been told, impossible to reduce and most of the time it's pretty easy to tell a man's hands or feet from a lady's. You can also usually notice from their behavior/mannerisms (I suppose that's a pun), ie LB's tend to be a lot more exaggerated in the way they walk, fuss with their hair and makeup all the time, etc than do normal ladies.

Left work early today to go to G18 (I was a little randy after my KTV session last night that ended with no release). Got there at about 5pm.
Went in, changed into the requisite shorts and top, then headed into a relaxation room. Within 5 minutes, was escorted over to the fishbowl where about 15 girls were available.

I had a similar experience once with a girl doing the minimal stuff. Watching TV, wasting time tidying stuff up, and having a "bad" reaction after a CIM. Keep your visa current. Make sure you (and whoever lives with you) are properly registered. Keep a low profile. It will pass.

A lot of filipinas I know are trying to make a visa run to HK before April 1. A tip for getting more numbers is try chatting up the girls in manhattans/judy, and eventually get the number of "house mommy". not a mamasan per say, but she in charge of the boarding house. so if your reg filipina WG exits, the house mommy can always recommend somebody.
Following the directions of a poster regarding Lancun Road (basically, get out of the station and head half a block West on Lancun Road), I went to this "massage alley" where there are about 5-6 massage shops/saunas. Another tip for free. As I don't live alone, I usually meet my good friends (that I keep in touch with thru sms) in a hotel. But as few people know, most hotel can be rent for a few hours or half day. Some advertise it (eg: close to my place 99rmb for 6 hours) and some don't, but actually do it for good discount.
Then for the girls, an extra gift or 400-500rmb, makes everyone happy. In a sauna they barely make more than 300rmb, with more risk!
My personal main problem is that if I could, I would like to have 2 girls a day. But my xiao peng you just don't follow me. Went back to the Shanghai Hotel on Friday night (26-Mar-2010). They were renovating the lobby but I was still able to get to the 2nd floor by going through the alternate entrance.

It is an old policy now somehow enforced, but, Bonzo1 is spot on this, this is China.
I checked with my Hotel upon arrival as I was worried, no new policy, no trouble, at all and I took home every night, even with 2 girls around 11pm with still quite a bit of lobby action, no issue. The security guards looked a bit surprised with the 2 girls though, but it felt more appreciative than in any way trying to stop me. How I love China!
This was a Chinese five star in Pudong, so you may want to consider this in your plans when the rules really tighten, Western chains may be a bit more stricter

On a seperate note, we were talking about the crackdown and how FL's were being stopped going into hotels with guys. He told me that all the hotels have been told in no uncertain terms that girls won't be tolerated in the hotel rooms. If they are found, not only will the girl be locked up and fined, so will the punter and also the hotel manager on duty at the time.
There is a sign from the police stating the policy during the expo, at the elevators of the Hilton. It states NO visitors after 11pm. And before that time, visitors will have to show their ID before allowed to go up in the hotel. (even to the bar).

My modus operandi is to book a room for two at La Casa (500 per night, 3h even cheaper), and tell them that we will arrive at 2 am.
Once I have found a companion, we go together to the hotel and check in together. This way, she is not a guest, but an occupant. I haven't had any problems with this procedure so far.

Just stayed at the Hilton. There has always been security in the lobby. However one is now posted right before one goes to the foyer where the lifts are. It is obvious that he is specifically stationed there to insure our evenings are dedicated to sleepong alone
Hope the Expo is worth it. I went by the constructions and simply don't understand the point.

An 5/10 girl nearby offered me 300 Yuan for an hour everything included.

Blast from the Past. The 'coffee girls' were a major part of the scene in the mid-late 1990s. They'd work in pairs and pull the sleeve of your jacket to get your attention. I saw one or two on the Bund when I was there last month, but thought the whole scene had died out long ago. Must be coming back due to the expo. Anyone been lately to any 'coffee houses'? They'd take you to these places where they had little booths that had had extra partitions built on so you could have a little privacy ( "coffee" for 2 cost about 600 RMB, as I recall)?? I remember one called 'Big Tree Coffee House'. Must be showing my age ;-)
Raids are getting a lot more frequent, was in my regular place when they stormed in like the keystone cops, looking under my towel and generally being very abusive to the girls. Fortunately wasn't up to anything at the time, but that doesn't mean that they can't make something up, these guys are not to be messed with. After we had settled down to a calming massage, they came back about 30 minutes later and charged in again, without warning, poor girl nearly jumped through the roof this time. So, be careful out there, maybe when the expo gets under way, they will divert their attention elsewhere, but for now, quite dangerous. In the name of security, laowai can also be challenged for documents at any time, so if you are out late, stick to the main areas, keep your shorts on and you should be ok, wo ai Shanghai!

You sound like you don't have much experience. You are EXTREMELY lucky they only hit you for a couple hundred kuai - most people get hit for a couple thousand or more.
A few absolute rules to follow (unless you are actually seeking bad experiences):
1. NEVER follow touts.
2. NEVER use craigslist (they are all fake) - caveat, use craigslist but negotiate full service price up front on the phone (not more than 800) and not tips and expect any girl to show up but never one you see in the photos, no matter how much they promise, because it's always a lie (Chinese have zero shame about lying).
3. Read this forum - all the above plus much more is covered in great detail. It's certainly worth an hour or two of your time.

If you are refering to Jin Ling as the shop, it is purely a clean joint that offer therapuetic prostrate massage. I have frequent this joint for years whenever I get a chance to be in Shanghai. For the towel issue, I doubt they recycle it as it has never happened to me.I am not entirely sure if you are calling me a liar so I'll give you a chance to clarify.

I shall be coming to Shanghai in May 2010 (yeah I know, the Expo starts....and I couldn't care less about this Expo) and since I assume the situation is going to be quite "tight" security wise, I was wondering what was the status of all the places that moved to the "new" mall. If other places become too dangerous, to me this looks like it could be the only option..
Are they fully operating yet? Same "goings" as their old location in TRL?

As we entered the hotel about 2:00, the security guard approached and I told him we are both registered, and staying together. Have a nice evening. "

It's all about man power, Shanghai already has the man power needed for the Expo in town (huge influx of police and military) just at this point, does not have many things for them to do yet... so they have them doing raids and clean up operations. After the Expo started all this personell will have tasks (like: standing on street corners) and things will calm down again.

However Beijing was already much tougher at that time of the stage and the Olympics were much shorter than the Expo. We will see how it plays out, but one is for sure, if you can avoid Shanghai due so, not only for our hobby. It has become a nightmare, travelling, hotels, MPs, bars.
Just my advice and I have been in Beijing during the Olympics so I may know what I am talking about

Most likely Malone's. If it was close to the Tong Ren Lu strip, i.e. walking distance, then it was Malone's for sure.

Firstly, on the occasions that I have bee lucky enough to stay at JW at Tomorrow Square, it has been girl friendly. Not sure what Expo will bring - keep in mind the place crawls with staff, but if you both act cool like you belong, you will likely just get the odd jealous stare.
Also keep in mind that lobby is about 51 floors from ground level, so meeting a call-in gets trickier since there is staff at ground and staff at 50th floor lobby. My recommendation is to have her meet you at the bar. That gives her an excuse and an opportunity to blend in to crowd before hitting elevator.
Can't comment on shanghaihoney - I have had some luck with the craigslist ad that has about a dozen pics. I also recommend Zapata's and the bars along Hengsham Road as likely the scene could shift there during Expo - also will be a great international vibe at Zapata's - has that flavour even without Expo.

I will be in Shanghai for a few days between the 28th and the 1st. I will be staying at Guang Da Hui Zhan Zhong Xin. I think this is the building shaped like an arch. It is on Cao Bao Lu 66. Does anyone know if they have in call massage service with extras? Or if thee is a possibility of bringing a girl back to the room?

China (CNN) -- More than 6,000 people were detained for crimes such as theft and prostitution during a recent 12-day police crackdown in Shanghai, Chinese media reported.
The police sting was aimed at making the streets safe in preparation for the World Expo in Shanghai, China Daily newspaper reported.
More than 30,000 police officers were used in the operation that went from April 3 to 14, the paper reported. Of the 6,402 detained, 429 are now under criminal detention, a designation that could lead to formal arrests and prosecution, the newspaper reported.
Those suspects had been accused of offenses including gambling, prostitution, theft and selling pornographic materials. Also 852 people were being held under administrative detention, a designation that could lead to a maximum term of 15 days in jail.
"The others were released after being educated," China Daily reported.
The crackdown occurred near the were the event will occur in Shanghai.
Organizers say the World Expo in Shanghai, a world's fair-type exposition that opens May 1, will draw more than 100 million people during its six-month run. About 190 countries are taking part in the event.
