Just got back from trip to Shenzhen. I've lived in Shanghai for 10 yrs now so I know most tricks in most cities, but this trip involved long days and nights and I wanted something convenient and safe. The Chinese myth is, if a girl lets a guy suck on their nipples too much, similar to a baby sucking on the nipple too much, it will become dark and long. I find that the pigment of their skin is not completely related to the color of the nipples. If you read Chinese, there is a pink apartment with the HUGE banner that says "foot massage". It's very obvious if you're viewing the pink apartments from Shangri-La. If that's the case, then I would have to say that perhaps younger girls do tend to, on average, have pinker or lighter color nipples than other WG. I have been traveling in-and-out China for last 10 years, it is kind of curious on what ground you quoted SZ is not safe, even for a 40 years old-grown-up Chinese guy like yourself. Many foreigner like me could walk freely on the street without getting any troubles, even mongering around alone! Some of them doesn't speak Chinese, but could live happily there.
Like any other places in the world(even the most modern & civilized ones), as long as you don't go into those small alley or quiet streets alone, you should be safe in SZ.
I can't imagine one full-grown man could be prohibited by his family traveling to some places or doing something. I made my own decisions, and go wherever I wanted to go since I was 18 years old.
Be really grown-up & be brave to explorer the beautiful China , especially if you could speak Chinese.
By the way, I am also a grown-up Chinese man, who travel worldwide frequently. I won't say all places I ventured to are safe, but you just need to know what to do when troubles occur - run as fast as possible & get your ass out of there!

The only "unsafe" thing I can think of is that you must pay particular care to your travel documents, wallet and mobile phone as there is a lot of petty theft / pickpocketing but no real physical danger. That all depends of course on what you do and where you do it. If you touts back to apartments etc. then you are risking your own neck.
I have Hong Kong relatives that say the same thing but their kind of logic if they don't have any knowledge of the place you shouldn't go there or it is dangerous.
The Hong Kong newspapers like to scaremonger. And saying thousands of guys had a good time without any hassle does not sell newspapers. I agree that most of the crime in SZ is petty stuff, especially in the Luohu area, on buses, trains, etc. I was pickpocketed once in Luohu. The other thing to watch out for are the scams but, as you say, most of these involve following someone to some place you don't know. I also fell for one of these scams years ago before I knew better.
On the other hand, a friend was recently robbed at knifepoint by 3 thugs whilst walking through an underpass in broad daylight. Who knows what might have happened if you hadn't given up his money, watch and mobile phone?
IMHO, if you mind your own business, there is little risk of violent crime. A local LE in Sha Tsui once suggested to me that it is best to come in, do your business and get out quickly. I reckon this is good advice to heed when hunting anywhere in SZ.
That said, I do not want fellow mongers to get a false sense of security that they can go anywhere and do anything in SZ without risk.

I believe Bao'an is outside the SEZ. Many people don't realize that only the southern part of Shenzhen is the Special Economic Zone, with restrictions on who can live and work there. The more northerly districts bordering Dongguan are not part of the SEZ, and until a few years ago there was a tight border control operation up there, keeping the migrant riff-raff, who set up camp in the Chinese version of Hoovervilles, from entering. Or trying to. This is a lot more relaxed now, but if you go over to Zhuhai, the border between ZH SEZ and ZH pig-farming district is still very Cold War-ish.
If you really want to see how bad Bao'an once was, see the movie "The Six Devil Women", about a gang of sluts who used the my-car-broke-down scam to prey on lonely drivers in the early 90s.
Recently the HK press reported that there is a move afoot to declare the whole of SZ an SEZ. This side by side with the scaremongering which the HK Chinese language papers indulge in about how 'dangerous' the place is. Quite a lot of this is pushed by the HK government and its property market bosses, they want to discourage people from thinking of living there and working in HK.

You are correct that BaoAn district is not part of SEZ of Shenzhen, but technically it is part of Shenzhen.
Back in the late 80's to 90's, there were horror stories about people being cut open to harvest their organs and everything like that. Glad that as time progresses, things usually get a little bit better.

I believe Bao'an is outside the SEZ. Many people don't realize that only the southern part of Shenzhen is the Special Economic Zone, with restrictions on who can live and work there. The more northerly districts bordering Dongguan are not part of the SEZ, and until a few years ago there was a tight border control operation up there, keeping the migrant riff-raff, who set up camp in the Chinese version of Hoovervilles, from entering. Or trying to. This is a lot more relaxed now, but if you go over to Zhuhai, the border between ZH SEZ and ZH pig-farming district is still very Cold War-ish.

Recently the HK press reported that there is a move afoot to declare the whole of SZ an SEZ. This side by side with the scaremongering which the HK Chinese language papers indulge in about how 'dangerous' the place is. Quite a lot of this is pushed by the HK government and its property market bosses, they want to discourage people from thinking of living there and working in HK.
I've just recently moved here, just wondering are there any other SZ locals around who would like to hang out, go explore discos/bars/KTVs/Saunas/etc?
Sorry I don't have much info to provide at this moment, but I would be happy to share any future experiences and knowledge. I am a bit familiar with the whole transportation system around SZ and how to get around, so if anyone has questions with that just drop me a line.

Yeah, I remember that story about Shirley Yu. There are a lot in her situation, including just about all the girls who were part of the 'Brunei Airlift' of the mid-90s (HK starlets sent to Brunei to serve Prince Jeffri and his friends.)
I might add, that some of these actresses/singers (there is hardly any line here between occupations) come from from families with a more-or-less criminal background, and muscle into the industry that way. Everyone knows about Joey Yung and the triads. Sibelle Hu was the daughter of a major crime boss in Taiwan. Film career dried up, and desperate to avoid going back to Taiwan, she eventually married a fat opthalmologist named Patrick Ho, who, through family and political guanxi, got himself appointed Secretary for Culture and Leisure Affairs in Hong Kong after the Handover. Actually, getting to a Mommie is not really such a big deal and not all that hard to accomplish.
Yes, most mommies are reluctant to let it be known to anybody that she'd "do it" - especially her gals. And in fact, most KTV's reasonably have rules against Mommies competing against the KTV gals to get "outside assignments." But they're more relaxed when they've done their job of the night, selling off all her gals to clients - and would come back and chit chat with her clients or offer "thank You" drink toasts.

There used to be a small (12 room) hotel up a flight of stairs, just across the road from the TV station in Hefei, the capital of Anhui province. Lots of guys used to go there for a "quicky" with a young girl from the TV. I used to stay there when I had a relationship with the girl news anchor at that time. The place is no longer there. The clients have probably moved to a "richer" hotel as they themselves as well as the whole town has become richer.

Actually, getting to a Mommie is not really such a big deal and not all that hard to accomplish.
Yes, most mommies are reluctant to let it be known to anybody that she'd "do it" - especially her gals. And in fact, most KTV's reasonably have rules against Mommies competing against the KTV gals to get "outside assignments." But they're more relaxed when they've done their job of the night, selling off all her gals to clients - and would come back and chit chat with her clients or offer "thank You" drink toasts.
This is the best time to work on her and discreetly arrange for "things"

You know sometimes by not taking out a KTV girl, you end up attracting more girls. I did what you did, I went through the whole night of KTV and I didn't pick any girls to take back that night. My friend had like 3 girls with him that night when he sat next to me. These are a breed apart! These DJ's are smart and always angle for the big pay-off. They know very well that a lot of guys lust after them - but since they are DJ's and NOT a Xiaojie, they are NOT obligated to have to go out with any customers. And play coy these DJ's ALWAYS do! They'd string along a few likely candidates, get presents, get footsies, massages etc and all along telling him that she does not do "IT." The reason being that she needs the time to really assess the guy's wherewithal and candidacy to becoming her generous and loving Lao gong. And usually she'd have a few of these would-be paramours sniffing after her.... whilst she takes up her own sweet time to decide which one she will give "it" up to!!
Sometimes a guy can get lucky and run into a DJ who's been playing the "game" just a bit too long and is running out of $$$. You get lucky and run across one of these DJ's and you're in!!

everyone, any taxi or bus driver will know where baishizhou is. from shekou is it the bus stop before the crowne plaza.
bai shi zhou is on both sides of shennan road. the south side does not have any bbs. the north side does (same side as crowne plaza).
you can enter nearby the holiday plaza, just past the newly built lego looking buildings. i'd recommend that you go to the bsz kfc (kentucky fried chicken) and walk down that road (i think it is called sha he jie), it is a busy road with buses taxis etc and walk maybe 400m to the jiangnanbaihuo department store. if you come after dark, there are alot of street food vendors here, buy some street bar be q. walk this short street with street vendors until the first right (after the fruit store). there should be a bbs in the small street to the right on the left hand side. if the metal gate is shuttered it is closed. there may be girls or a mommy in this lane. this should be your starting point. there were very few if any bbs north of the jiangnanbaihuo.
if there is nothing here you can continue your sightseeing by walking straight ahead and checking the small lanes to the left of the right.
have fun, try to find the bbss. i hope you get lucky. i hope you can find the used furniture street, several market streets, 4 or 5 washing pits. in better times you would easily find at least 20bbs spread out around the area.i decided to be brave and search bsz around 10 pm this evening. i started from the kfc on sha he jie, walked down the busy street but wasn't able to identify the jiangnanbaihuo department store. so i just picked a random side street on the right about 2 or 3 blocks in and started looking for bbs. basically i didn't find anything. i peeked into every dark alley i could find, but could see no pink lights, nothing to indicate bbs. all i saw were a lot of legit hair salons, food stands, and random shops. i even tried to pick the darkest alleys i could find and walked until i no longer felt safe, and the most i could find was a small shop with maybe 3 rather plain looking girls beckoning me, they probably just wanted to give me a foot massage. i didn't even see possible signs of bbs, ie mongers walking around with hot girls, all i saw was one hot looking girl who looked like she could be a wg, i even followed her around like an idiot and she disappeared into a normal looking apartment.
anyway, it was all rather frustrating and depressing. all i got out of my hour of trudging was stepping into a lot of trash and stagnant pools of water. it's possible i just had bad luck, or the bbs in the area are even more well hidden than i thought. in that case, it's probably not even worth the trouble or risk to find them.

Was in Shenzhen for the last 4 weeks and this current crackdown is the worst I have seen. Gals at the the pink Apartments are now a fraction of the crop. Mamas are no longer as aggressive. The gals stay in the shop and don't walk the lane. Some mamas sit in the stores with the gals and when you go in to purchase a pop or something they would quietly ask if you wanted a gal. They won't go to a hotel according to one of the gals I talked to. Anyway, I witnessed a bunch of the gals standing outside the local cop station. Apparently, they were caught for whatever, and had to stand out there for like 4 hours or so.
You can still get girls though. I had numbers of girls and mamas and was able to bring them home to my friend's place. Mamas around the Century hotel can bring you gals too., but they now want 150 instead of 100. I was able to bargain down to 120 though.
Walked around Seibu a couple of times. Freakin dead.
Action in a town 20 minutes north of SZ was still the same as before. Went to a HJ place I frequented in the past. Still the same for $168 you get a 2 hour oil massage and happy ending. Was offered full service for $400 but declined. I think it was $300 or $350 previously.

i decided to be brave and search bsz around 10 pm this evening. i started from the kfc on sha he jie, walked down the busy street but wasn't able to identify the jiangnanbaihuo department store. so i just picked a random side street on the right about 2 or 3 blocks in and started looking for bbs. basically i didn't find anything. i peeked into every dark alley i could find, but could see no pink lights, nothing to indicate bbs. all i saw were a lot of legit hair salons, food stands, and random shops. i even tried to pick the darkest alleys i could find and walked until i no longer felt safe, and the most i could find was a small shop with maybe 3 rather plain looking girls beckoning me, they probably just wanted to give me a foot massage. i didn't even see possible signs of bbs, ie mongers walking around with hot girls, all i saw was one hot looking girl who looked like she could be a wg, i even followed her around like an idiot and she disappeared into a normal looking apartment.

Was in Shenzhen for the last 4 weeks and this current crackdown is the worst I have seen. Gals at the the pink Apartments are now a fraction of the crop. Mamas are no longer as aggressive. The gals stay in the shop and don't walk the lane. Some mamas sit in the stores with the gals and when you go in to purchase a pop or something they would quietly ask if you wanted a gal. They won't go to a hotel according to one of the gals I talked to. Anyway, I witnessed a bunch of the gals standing outside the local cop station. Apparently, they were caught for whatever, and had to stand out there for like 4 hours or so.
You can still get girls though. I had numbers of girls and mamas and was able to bring them home to my friend's place. Mamas around the Century hotel can bring you gals too., but they now want 150 instead of 100. I was able to bargain down to 120 though.
Walked around Seibu a couple of times. Freakin dead.
Action in a town 20 minutes north of SZ was still the same as before. Went to a HJ place I frequented in the past. Still the same for $168 you get a 2 hour oil massage and happy ending. Was offered full service for $400 but declined. I think it was $300 or $350 previously.

I had a look in one of the SW streets north of the SEZ a few times and it too has become dead. The street has been cleaned up with just 1 BBS with no lights and a few girls inside. Hope to find out were they went one day. Service was never tried because too many people used too stand on the other side of the street and stare at the girls, Thats a walk of shame picking one up and being white I stand out a bit, but I used to enjoy the view.

Went to see a little old friend (cept she aint old) now working in SZ -- she used to work the HK 141s before. Massage parlour is just beside the Lushan Hotel on Chun Feng Lu in Lo Wu -- 2/F. 2 hour massage, plus HJ was $188 inclusive. You go these places, have a shower, go to the room, get a massage and a HJ. THen you go to the front desk and the bill is $188. No tipping. No chance of FS there, which I thought was the way in these SZ MPs.
Anyway, with the slight tightening up on entertainment venues, when was in SZ last Sat I thought Id visit yet another old (altho again not so old) friend who also did the HK 141s a while back. So we decided to go down to Happy Valley in Shenzhen (next to the Crowne Plaza hotel and the Windows of the World theme park in Futian district).

I've taken gals to this park a couple or so times before and thus had a better grasp about this park than my 2 li'l gals - and they loved it that I seem to have the day quite well planned out. Hi gents, finally return from SZ, the entire exprience was mixed with good and bad, here is the break down. And thanks for the tips some of you provided as it was still pretty easy to get wg in Luo hu.

Yes, my Thai is much better than my Mandarin. In the case you mention, I met the girl on her first night on the game. Afterwards he brought some girls and i picked one just to sit with me. The cost was 200 RMB to keep me company only. Groping and kissing allowed if the girl is into it or drunk. This girl got kind of drunk and I took her home and she stayed all night. In the morning i gave her 400 RMB. i still have her phone number but do not speak much mandarin.

2-3-6 is the rate now but the hotter ones will not go out until late at night as on a busy day like Saturday they can fit in 2 STs first.

There's actually a lot of places like this. When I used to live in Futian, before they closed most of them down, there were at least 30-40 places like this within walking distance near the Fumin Station. As of last year, there were probably only like 6-7. The places are basically small KTVs, with a few private rooms. There's usually a lot of HK guys hanging around, usually doing drugs. The girls who work at the places are "youjidui." They're not stuck to one establishment, they go where the customers are and they usually work with several mommies at different places. I know of one such place that you should be familiar with. It's called the Sao Paolo (sanbaoluo), behind the Grand Holiday Hotel.

There's actually a lot of places like this. When I used to live in Futian, before they closed most of them down, there were at least 30-40 places like this within walking distance near the Fumin Station. As of last year, there were probably only like 6-7. The places are basically small KTVs, with a few private rooms. There's usually a lot of HK guys hanging around, usually doing drugs. The girls who work at the places are "youjidui." They're not stuck to one establishment, they go where the customers are and they usually work with several mommies at different places. I know of one such place that you should be familiar with. It's called the Sao Paolo (sanbaoluo), behind the Grand Holiday Hotel.

Spending so much time in China and Wanchai being only an hour or so from Shenzhen, I can't justify it and when you look at it from the point of view that it is nearly 10 times the cost of 1 gal ST and not 10 times the fun or same cost as 2 gals LT inclusive of the hotel.

I used to live in Shuiwei Cun. Before they closed up most of the small KTVs around there, it used to be one of the most happening places in town. Everynight, there would be literally hundreds of PYTs walking the streets going from KTV to KTV. Last time I was there, off of Fuqiang Lu on the opposite side of New York Pizza, there were still three open. One was Venice, another was Shuidu, and I forgot the name of the third. They were all within 50 meters of each other.
As for Sao Paolo, it's definitely NOT high end KTV. Las Vegas is much higher end than Sao Paolo. Sao Paolo is more of a Chinese style bar.

I admit I do miss having access to piasas and the Argentine ladies I enjoyed before moving to Asia. The experiences I have had with the So. Amer gals in Hong Kong have not been good. It seems that the "managers" keep close tabs on them and also are very strict about pricing and as you noted "performance". Actually, the japanese I got was from 141. She was genuinely Japanese as she spoke fluent Japanese. Perhaps she may be a Korean acting as a Japanese, but she at least gave me the fantasy of a "japanese". She was definitely not from mainland China, that's for sure. $1300-$1400 HKD for ST.
I got ripped off from that Venezuelan. They have really bad attitudes and horrible service as well. I think i had to haggle with the prices and settled at 1800 HKD, which in retrospect was not worth it at all. I never really had a thing for South Americans/Latinas. Or perhaps I never got with one that was Model or amazonian quality girls. Perhaps I should be more open minded and take my last bad experience as just an isolated case.
A change of flavor is always something good i suppose.

If you are Chinese, speak Chinese and are young, you have it made. You don't need to be here asking for help.
Take a mate or two to the basement in Seibu for all you can eat-n-drink Teppanyaki (or Brazilian) for 150 each. Forget the squid and octupus, focus on the beef, it's very good and don't get drunk.

After the police raid last summer, everyone is scared. Some joints that previously offered Full service are either legitimate massage or HJ places. If there is a window into the room and no lock on the door, there is no full service. By that time you are already committed to a massage.
About half the places I went to offered a HJ either at the end or once in the beginning. The other half were massage only. Big Seibu (Citic Metro)is the big place south of Shennan Middle Road and east of Shangbu south street, Under the building is a food court You can get there from exit D at the subway its quite a long underground shopping centre. This is all true and heaps of fun to explore and hike keeps you fit To the best of my knowledge I'm sure its a Seibu named store 95% anyway. All of it and street names are on the English Google maps.

Went to King Plenty KTV in Sa Wan. Drinking and liars dice worked out at RMB200 each for a VIP room for 5 hours. Never been out that way so can't compare. Sa Wan is reasonable cost wise but you got to be quick if you want a great gal during weekends. Mid week a lot of part time stunners whose benefactor is not around come out to play. That is the best time to go. The only reason we went there is since it was a holiday, it would have been very hard to get a KTV room anywhere else as we hadn't booked and just called up at 8pm a manager we knew. For some reason at the end of the night she wanted me to take her home. She was a bit of a pork chop (I think that is what here nickname is). I wasn't that drunk but maybe she was because I don't look anything like Brad Pitt, LOL.

Visas via the Hong Kong office is still always a chancy thing - as the rules changes at the drop of a hat and they also get applied "unevenly" to different parties. i.e. one guy could get a certain visa and for some inexplicable reason, another guy does NOT get the same.
More disturbing, I do KNOW that there are visa application "organizations" with suppossedly close ties to the people within the Hong Kong Foreign Ministry office, that ARE ableto get certain type of visas and for long periods of time - whilst others are not able to do so.
I think you'd be much better off applying for your visa via the local office of the PRC Foreign Ministry at your country of residence - just to be on the safe side.

How many countries world wide do you think will grant a visa - any kind of visa - to an individual who is NOT a resident of the country where their particular consular office is located at and thru which this individual is applying for his visa?? i.e. say you are a Chinese national/resident - what do you think your chances would be if you applied for a U.S. visa, say in Bangkok?
Hope you get what I mean - and that the Chinese government had in the past been willing to bend over backwards and facilitate visitors to Hong Kong who may suddenly decide to also go into China. This welcoming attitude -suddenly and practically without prior announcement - changed just prior to the Olympics last year. It had left many a hopeful visitor - and even long term quasi-permanent-residents of China (who had regularly been just making visa runs to Hong Kong to renew their permit to stay in China) - all but stranded; and even though there was a lot of hue and cry then, it was not until a few months later that the rules were relaxed a bit.
I think that the Chinese Government is probably now also thinking about reciprocity on visa matters, the same principle as applies to most other International relationships they maintain; that if other countries will not allow third country visa applications, why should they?!

I've been living in Shenzhen for more than a year now. This forum was a great help to learn the tricks of the city. I was waiting to find something interesting to write for my first report.
Today I went to what I thought was a veggie place, Casson City Spa. It's located in Futian district, 38 Futian South Road.
I went for the 198rmb massage. After 15 minutes of oily massage, the girls took down my pants and started to play with my ass and balls.
I was a little surprise considering that the door had a big window.
She massaged my low area for like 30 min and then ask me to turn over. She then asked me for 100rmb tips to perfom a HJ.
I'm used to pay max 200rmb for HJ massage in luohu but I was really excited to the idea of getting a HJ in a place like that. She gave me a HJ for another 30 min in full display and didn't seems to worry about the fact that everybody walking before the room could see us.

With all of your requirements, and the four hotels on your list, it is not possible.
Prostitution is illegal. In some 5 star hotel, you can't even bribe you way in after 11pm with your money.
I have read some of your older post. Most are asking questions for help. There are not many posts of what happened or followups after getting your info. You need to RTFF.

Thnaks in advance.Shangri-la and BestWestern, also 5*, have mamasans and they will send girls to your room. It is not a problem in BW after 11pm or midnight. Hotels you mentioned have mamasans outside who can send girls to your room. I don't know about bars or extra services. I find very difficult to communicate in Shenzhen. I will be interested if anyone knows a "pick-up" bar.

Sunshine hotel is far better than Pangalin in terms of service and other amenties.
The in house sauna offers FS and HJ and in toom service whereas pangalin has a boring legit spa.
So I recommend Sunshine.

I believe the Sunshine is a 5 star in China hotel standards which equates to a better 4 star on International hotel standards. The location is just across the street from the Panglin. I reckon the rooms are better at the Panglin (used to be Hilton) but the FS sauna with room service makes the Sunshine convenient for lazy mongers with deep pockets. Like I say, one only needs to walk out the door of either hotel to find more action than he can handle.

There is a nice bar called VBar built into it. Lots of WGs in there working. And there is a separate lift to go to the rooms. So no walk of shame through the lobby. Just out the back door of the club, around the pool and into the lift (on the third floor) and up to your room.
Only draw back is the girls will be asking much more. Like starting at 1k RMB for ST. You can try and talk them down. Most speak english.
If you want younger fresher straight from the farm. Stay in Louhu at sunshine (or lotus hotel next door which is nice and cheaper). There you have seibu area with lots and lots of WGs. Just don't go between 8pm and midnight since its closed.

There is a Dimple Club right next to Sunshine. You can scout for freebies in there although its an expensive sort of establishment. I once managed to take out one bar girl out for a coffee next day, but nothing more than that could be achieved due to paucity of time etc. Experienced members can throw more light on this club and what happens there.

Hi folks, finally I get a chance to write a small report.
I was in Panglin about dec 15th or so on work. Of course Hobby was part of the work!
Attached are a few pics.
The main BBS area seems to be closed. But many mamasans and papasans at work. One of them took me to an area about 100mtrs beyond (east wards) from the BBSs. And there was the usual congregation of the SGs. I picked twice from there. A bit scary but even at midnight no worries.
Most other info is same as what the earlier folks have offered so I will not duplicate.
I cannot seem to add the better sized pics. If you need them and phone numbers (only useful if you speak the language) PM me and I can help.
I also stayed in the Lotus and I will post about that in my next post.

I have done so many walk arounds all over and can't find any BBS, WG, chickenheads. I find myself having to go back down to LouHu to my regular places to get laid. So fucking stupid.
Tonight I did a walk around Sha Ha Jie looking for the BBS. I walked all around getting many stares (white guy) and couldn't find anything.
I managed to pull something out of Vbar but don't want to have to go to a club each night to pull some WG.
Anyone have any nanshan recommendations? You can PM if you have something.

A HK guy named Cheung is the mastermind behind one of the syndicates, he uses LW Wong Pui Village as a base for prostitution, and his wife has set up "branches" at Hongkong hotels in NP, WC, TST, TW, they arrange travel documents and tickets for the girls to travel to HK to entertain HK customers. Both Cheung and his HK wfie are now arrested!!

China is one worst place to cash Traveller check other than South America, Bank of China charge 20 rmb for each check and it take forever, they need to call it in to American Express take about 30 min after that you wait in line for another 30 min and most bank don't even bother to do it.

You sure have alot of time to waste wanting to go the bank twice ,I don't like to go to the bank in China I also have a account in bank of china and HSBC, just bring cash or use the damn ATM and stop waste time ,I use the money charger in Lowu border instead going to the bank .

Don't go though the T/C hassle. You get charged by your bank in the US and charged by the entity cashing.
ATM's work pretty much globally. In Thailand, there are some local banks that I was not able to use my ATM previously. Called my home bank and they were aware of the situation (they had actually suspended service with that bank due to fraud problems in the past). They suggested trying a different bank and viola. No problems.
Also, Chinese banks are hooked into the global ATM system. Large branches of Bank of China, ICBC almost always have ATM's that can handle international cards.
Both Thai banks and Chinese banks have English options.
Last word of advice, tell your bank that you are traveling abroad and will use your ATM card. Otherwise your transaction may be flagged and your card put on hold.

Hi Eddie, I don't mind going to Bank of China since it is about a 3 minute walk from my hotel. Just don't want to bring a lot of cash when I will be spending 2 weeks in Thailand. I will consider changing the TT into US$ right before I leave Thailand.

You will need more than that to do T/T;Swift code, bank exact address and phone number, etc. BofA, Citi and HSBC have locations in SZ, they also have ATMs in varies locations throughout SZ, GZ, BJ, HK and SH.

I do about 5 wire transfer a yr mostly China bank to US ,I stop wire from US to bank of China because they will not convert USD to RMB it need to be done in person ,so is better to bring in USD to China and deposit to a bank account in China.
To answer Csun213 question: Yes it take just as long to deposit your TT. I only bring it for emergency only if I don't use it just bring it back for my next trip just use my atm and paid the 3% convertion charge .

There is a "General Info" forum for this kind of stuff. And depositing a Traveller's Check is the same as cashing it and then depositing the exchanged RMB in your account and someone already outlined the procedure for that. I can't see the cost and inconvenience of using checks is cheaper than cash advance charges. You are not talking millions.

I have noticed tons of LE around also. Although it is mostly punk 20 year old kids sitting on their bicycles with red/blue lights texting on their phones.
Guess its still LE though.

I was in Shekou a trip postponed from December and found usual fun in SheKou near NanHai hotel girlie bars.
Had problem with HaiTao because girls will not go there. In December 2 girls are get arrest by police and take to prison for 2 years with customers for drinking and very noisy so some important foreign guests complain.
No girls go to HaiTao so I changing hotel to NanHai. Not very expensiver because I get a good price because hotel empty.
Took girls on three nights form local bars and not paid any barfines because it was late around 1 or 2 in morning and not busy in bars

I do T/T twice a month, one in and one out, so why are you addressing this to me? Everyone know that it is almost impossible take/wire large amount of RMB out of China, maybe you should share your secret about how to get your RMB out of China and into your US account.

Fast eddie 48OMG! Just open a Citi, BofA or HSBC account in the US, use that ATM card in China or in HK. It is that simple. T/T charges your both way and conversion, ATM charge only from China side.

So boys.. what's the story with Shenzhen? Dead now or is there still action to be found. I still haven't heard or seen anywhere with "Sauna" type of service like in CP... is that something that is just not found in SZ? I went to a rub and tug type of "Sauna" in SZ, but that was the extent of it.. a little feel, with a not so hot girl, and jerk you to completion.
Needless to say it was not worth it... but at that time, I didn't know better... any better options... I'd appreciate some direction...
I'm obviously new to SZ and have read many pages back and don't think the BBS thing is feasible for my needs...
Need a higher end sauna with everything included... most major cities have them.. the closer to Futian the better!! :)

Thanks Furias and Yellow Fever. I stayed at the Grandview last time, and as you said, it is quite nice. They give breakfast vouchers, there is a clean foot massage place upstairs, a place called Queen spa across the street (but different than the one mentioned numerous times on this board). Couple questions: they have greeters at the downstairs elevators, did you have any problems bringing girls in? Could you provide walking or taxi details to get to the BBS close to the hotel. Is it the Sega market that you described below, or another (either way, directions from hotel would help this non-speaking monger).
Wadman, I have been staying in Nanshan more lately, let me know if you are around in mid-January, I'm trying to relive my youth.
PS- there are other GandView hotels in SZN, and all the taxis know those but not this one (because it is new). The upside is that you get a nice driving tour of the city.Hello, atall,
