The interesting part of my Friday Part 1.
I went back to the apartments behind haifu / jiabin Road, looking for a repeat performance. Wow.

There are myriad posts on Shangri-La, Panglin, Sunshine, etc, but I have seen very little written about the Perthden Hotel in Yanhe South Road, Luohu.
The Perthden Hotel is worth considering as it is far cheaper than the Shangri-La, better than the mouldy Century Plaza, and only about 3 1/2 years old. The rooms are quite good, large, have internet and a safe. I am a VIP customer there and receive prompt attention from reception etc, even tho their English is limited.
The hotel also has a reasonably priced FS Sauna. I have only partaken twice but the limited girl choice was young, tasty and well-trained. Many of the girls who work in the hotel live in the Huitai B apartments (the hotel is actually Huitai A). I had a gf for 10 months who lived in Huitai B. Actually Huitai B is full of sauna girls and other WGs and even some er nai of HK guys. So if you eat in restaurants around the Huitai B there are opportunities for bright young men (or old as the case may be).
The hotel is well-located, being very close to the train station. If going by train, take the Renmin South Exit. If going by taxi, tell the driver BaiSiDun JiuDian, or more completely Luohu, Yanhe Nan Lu, BaiSiDun Jiudian.
And of course (if this is your taste) , the hotel is just 2 minutes from the Pink Apartments (makes take-out easy) , and 4 minutes from the scam-ridden apartments behind the Shangri-la.

This is ShenZhen's famous Pink Pussies Heaven, visible from the hotel Shangri-La, the main roads and from SZ railway station 2 blocks away.
Girls are mostly with young, rough and crude farm girls fresh off the trains, wearing funny country clothes.
I have been visiting this area many times with local bros. Never found a girl worth getting near, not to mention getting close and having sex with.

I did find near this pink building a beauty shop with always 4 older ladies 38 years old and up. Trying to call guys in. I followed one lady just to see what the cost and what was offered for fun. I tried to speak with her in Chinese but she said wait till we get up stairs. To make a long and scary story short. Went in the room she told me a ridiculous price and I told her I am leaving. She said you can't leave till you pay. I started to walk out she got on her cell phone to call her pimp. She said he is going to fuck you up and slit her finger across her neck. As I was leaving she started punching me. I got out of there and found a side door to sneak out and never went back to that building the rest of my trip. That was he only neg I would say. Now if you go into a KTV yes you will get scammed especially if you are not Chinese.

As a hotel guest, your chances of a scam are much less as they don't want you going back to the hotel management and complaining! I have referred to the apartments behind the Shangri-la as scam-ridden apartments. Many people (including experienced posters here) , have this opinion of the apartments. A Chinese friend of mine has a great deal of experience, and my opinion is largely based on his beliefs. Firstly, the services are aimed at new arrivals, particularly foreigners who do not speak Chinese and workers from HK. The quality and service is nearly always very poor. Apparently they usually try to upsell or add additional charges (like more money to take off clothes, perform BJ etc, or even mythical charges). If one refuses to pay the inflated prices, then yes, thugs are available. It is my friend's belief that the whole operation is run by criminals who would have no hesitation in damaging you severely.
I am familiar with the Pink apartments. For about 8 months I passed through the area 6 or 7 times every week, mainly going to a supermarket in the cun, or as a shortcut walking to King Glory plaza or similar. I used to exchange greetings with several of the mammas and touts, particularly the tall mamma with the big boobs and the 3 to 4 male touts at the eastern end of the cun near the tiny police box. I also went and viewed the offerings many times, but got sick of climbing up multiple flights of stairs to the 5th or 6th floor. The girls were generally unattractive and I did not partake. I have posted of these experiences previously.
One time, the mamma with the big boobs even had 3 young girls lined up against the fence. They were fresh from the factory, but quite attractive and were not dressed in funny clothes. But this was degrading as many people going to and from the train station were walking past (the Renmin South exit is only 50 metres away down a small path between 2 building sites).
The main customers at the Pink apartments appear to be Cantonese speaking Chinese (from HK?).

The working girls is Shen Zhen do not like white guys. Most likely they have never been with a white guy before. Don't be surprised if they run away as soon as they see you. Whilst I agree with some of what you say, my main point was that I believe that the quality and service in the apartments behind Shangri-La is particularly poor compared to many other areas in Luohu, such as HubeiXinCun, XiangXinCun, etc, and of course in comparison to the saunas.
Tom, I live and work in China. I am Caucasian, and have worked in Asia for much of the last 30 years. I have lived in Hong Kong and China for a total of 8 1/2 years (the last 4 continuously in China, Shenzhen). Many of my colleagues are Chinese mongerers, and I learn a lot from them. I also speak a little Mandarin, but have never had to try to "calm the girl down".
I am not an ardent P4P fan, hence the infrequent postings here, but I am an ardent freebie fan (apologies to FreebieFan for using his moniker). My experiences appear to be very different to your experiences.

The girls working out of apartments behind hotel Shangri-La and the pink apartments are mostly below-average looking country girls from the interior fresh off the trains. They are so new to the big cities that they may be fearful of foreigners and are not good sex partners.
There are a lot of hungry and aggressive touts and pimps hanging out in these neighborhoods that they may beat up or take advantage of foreigners if given opportunities. I went through these 2 areas many times but never found any girls worth the risks. I hate to climb up 5, 6 fights of dark stairs to smelly and filthy apartments to look at a bunch of ugly and scared girls. The touts always promise good-looking young girls to bring you into their apartments so they can pressure or threaten you to screw the girls on the spot. It's a lot of work climbing stairs, then a lot of stress fending off aggressive touts.
A safer alternative is to rely on hotel workers to supply the girls to the room. But high-class hotels, like Shangri-la or Crowne Plaza, frown on taking working girls in and out of their places. Their workers would not do it. People who hang around in front of 3 or may be 4-star hotels usually will supply the girls to your rooms for a mark up. Keep rejecting until they send a girl that meet your taste.

That is the wrong attitude to have. Flashing a girl who everyone knows is a prostitute. It only takes one upset person to report you to police. When the police come to your hotel room and open the door with the key card. Yes, in China they do not knock. But, that is another story. You are not in your home country. From my understanding you are only allowed to have your wife in your room with you. If the hotel manger does not report you are with a prostitute he will go to jail too. I can't confirm this but this is what my Shanghai friend told me. The looks of hate will not only come from Chinese wives. But they will also come from the Chinese men. Hating you come to their country banging their woman. If she is not a hooker and you are in your 20's. 30's or 40's with a non working it is not uncommon to get those same looks. Chinese men will say to the girl in Chinese "sell out" as they walk by you. This goes back to the racism I was talking about. If you are in your 20's and you go to a young night club on the dance floor. A white guy dancing with a Chinese girl is just begging to get in trouble by a bunch of Chinese guys.
There are going to be guys on here that say the police don't care about prostitution and do what you want. My answer to that is just look how fearful the touts are of the cops and the girls. I say cops care. Especially if it is a cop that hates these white guys coming to their country messing with their girls.
I did love Shanghai when I was there. I did not research enough before I went and the taxi drivers were useless. Next time I will be more prepared.

In ShenZhen and Beijing, I went out dining and clubbing a lot with young girls I met in social and business circles. In most parts of Asia, the rigid class and caste system are still alive and well, flying in the face of Westerners' egalitarian ways of life.
Pros or non pros, the girls are my companions and I will fight for them.

They are sometimes publicly humiliated and even physically beaten. I was in a taxi on a busy street in Beijing near Tian An Men square going back to the hotel, with a girl I had picked up. She was a very proper and good-looking girl, speaking fair English. But, even then, it was not a requirement in international brand name hotels (that was some time earlier!). For example, in 2001 I travelled on a business trip to Cheng Du with my Chinese GF and had no problems at the Hilton (90% sure that it was the Hilton).

Due to concerned responses to my previous post, I have decided to rewrite it and submit it for your approval.
NO WALK OF SHAME IN THE MIDDLE KINGDOM.
We struggle momentarily as we pass through the revolving doors of the hotel carrying our shopping bags with names such as Fendi, D&G, Valentino, Versace and Elle, all from MIXC. JiaQi is working at reception and she greets me with a wave. She smiles approvingly at the well-dressed girl with me, who she rightly surmises is a xiaojie.
There are four western businessmen sitting in the coffee lounge and their conversation stops midstream when they see the flawless porcelain doll walking tall by my side. A small group of American tourists are sitting in the foyer. The women's heads follow our progress across the lobby. Their eyes harden at the sight of a mature silver haired western gentleman accompanied by a beautiful young Chinese girl. Their husbands avert their eyes, afraid their wives will accuse them for staring at the girl!
In one corner of the foyer sits a Singaporean-Chinese man who is a some-time poster on the ISG Thailand and Malaysian forums. His piercing eyes glare disapprovingly over the top of his newspaper.
When we reach the bank of elevators, I hold the doors open for my girl to enter, and I reflect how things have changed in the last 25 years in China. These thoughts disappear as I smile at the beauty by my side as we are swiftly lifted to my suite, replaced by thoughts of the intimate moments to follow!
In the morning, we enter the restaurant where the buffet breakfast is served. We select a table by the window so that we can spend our last few moments quietly together. Have taken my girlfriends travelling to other places in China. They always ask for my passport and GF I.D. They said every morning police come and take the list of foreigners staying.
In some small towns they did ask how we are related. The girls always said we are engaged. Some times I used to take two girls. Some of the hotels objected and I had to change the hotels.
At that time single girls were not allowed to stay with a foreigner past 11PM. I doubt if it was strictly enforced. It was the job of the hotel to enforce it. Some did or at least tried. One time my GF slammed the door on their face when they told her the law. They were pissed off but my GF promised me they never call the police. It seems if the police were called the hotel gets a black mark she said. My girl was feisty and would tell people off for any remark.
With so many many businessmen coming and most of them looking for fun I doubt any local population mixing laws are enforced. I guess the law was put in place to protect political repression rather than to avoid sex with locals.

The hotels also need to record the date of last entry into China. I recall many wasted minutes as the receptionist tries to find the latest stamp among a 100 or so China entry stamps in a 69 page passport (the only disadvantage of living near HK!).
The only real problem that I have encountered is that foreigners are often refused accommodation in low-end hotels and guest houses. This occurred once in Lijiang, even though the guest house was new, and the area was a tourist one. Apparently, permits are issued allowing foreigners to stay at a premises, but they are not granted to 2 star hotels and guest houses.
I have also many times stayed overnight at hotels in the same Police district as my Temporary Residence Registration. Nothing ever resulted.
And, on the bottom of the Form it states that "For your safety, we should (sic) like to suggest you to live in 5 star hotels of modern communities with advanced security equipments".

I have been to China many times. I also can speak decent Mandarin. I used the wrong term for the stores. Don't remember the correct term everyone on here uses. But, they are every common in China. I read somewhere on here before that people found some in Shen Zhen. It is a massage store with about 4 woman sitting in a room alone. There is a huge glass wall facing the street for the sole purpose of seeing the girls there. I have never seen this is Shen Zhen. But, when I was in Shang Hai these places were everywhere. Usually you would see about 5 or 6 of them in a row. All separate stores but right next to each other. Fast Eddie I don't know your China experience but these places are common. I have never been to Amsterdam but it is similar to that only the girls are dress in nice evening dressing or plain clothes.
Just before Christmas, I met a very nice girl about 23, at Coco Park. We later met at the entrance of the Shenzhen Museum in the Civic Centre building and enjoyed a very nice lunch at the traditional restaurant there (in the tea shop). And until recently, rentals in the apartment building were considerably cheaper than other apartments in the area.
A number of people agreed that the building were indeed haunted, but did not agree on the reasons. The most supported story is that the area, which was originally on a small hill, had been a Japanese Internment or prisoner of war camp during WWII. They supposedly beheaded thousands of Chinese prisoners there. The camp was in an area by the corner of Hongli West Road and Caitian Road.
Maybe a good strategy to use in the future is to weaken girls' resistance by taking them to a haunted hotel (haha).

Find a scooter taxi, and ask him to take you to the Red Light District, pay 5rmb to take you there. In Chinese,"Hong Deng Lu". Once there, walk around looking interested. A tout will come up and bring you to a room with girls to choose from. She will take you to a room nearby. Pay after. 150rmb. Simple. Shannxi Village, Shia Zui Village, HuBei Village, all the same. I am not an expert on China nor do I want to fight with anyone one the board. Someone start calling mean names and that I probally never been there. I spent some weeks in China using much the same approach as I did for the Ukraine ('Other areas' about 12/12) and used a website called chnlove (AFF and Craigslist are too unreliable). I will make a comparison later.
I spent many hours searching for suitable candidates, and placed an ad giving attributes that women everywhere love (intimacy, fun-loving, humour etcetc). I stressed that I was 'looking for fun' to try and eliminate those who want the whole package. Very important. It's also expensive but saves you a lot of time and trouble at the other end, and is ultimately cheaper I believe. There are of course many pitfalls to this approach: photos can be photoshopped to buggery, complete misunderstandings, and the usual frauds (identities are all checked by chnlove or their agencies). However, I believe one can get a good sense of who is genuine after a good deal of research and communication. It's an approach that doesn't suit many, those especially with a limited amount of time, but which can be rewarding in many other ways. I believe my success rate was reasonable (about 60% of those contacted going the full hog). If a triste was unsuccessful or going to be too slow then I resorted to the old tried and true methods: karaoke, hotel disco, salons, saunas / spas, and the street. My favourite trick is to grab a bunch of hotel cards, write my room number on the back, and give them out with a smile to any girl who looked a good prospect in the malls, arcades, streets etc, show them my room key if they still didn't understand, and blow them a kiss.
The areas I concentrated on were Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Shenzhen, Shandong and Hunan. Changsha was the most fraudulent as the agencies for the site seem to go out in the malls and streets, actively recruit beautiful girls with many promises, and pay for their photo shoot etc. They then run you around in circles and run up a nice bill for you. The best for genuine, sexy, educated women was Shenzhen. Zhongshan is an industrial city full of young girls from the provinces working in factories or looking for work, and available. Age range overall was about 20 to 45. Best experience was in Zhuhai where my contact lived in a tiny dormitory cubicle separated by a curtain. Her best friend was in the next cubicle and wanted a piece of the action. I would take them both out and then sleep with one, the other waiting for a dawn breaker. Unusual for Chinese 'good' girls. Other girls in the dorm realized what was happening and complained so I was banned from the vicinity (apparently lucky not to be arrested). So all action shifted to my hotel room where at least there was a bed big enough to fit us all in. A lot of fun. Otherwise Zhuhai was disappointing. Trickiest experience: a beautiful wealthy business woman who owned a luxury penthouse complete with outdoor heated swimming pool, rooftop gardens, spa, sauna, bmw. 40' yacht and gorgeous 20 year old daughter (with whom I could see myself potentially getting into trouble). However, it turned out the lady was wanting the whole package and was a control freak. I didn't fancy standing by with a cell phone she had given me waiting for her call at 10 minute intervals, with orders. Needless to say, I 'disappeared'.
Comparison with the Ukraine:
1. Language. A crash course in Russian was enough for the Ukraine while a crash course in Mandarin was useless. My electronic dictionary come phrase book made communication often totally unintelligible. Also Ukrainian women seem to intuite what you are getting at with just a few words; the Chinese not at all unless they have a reasonable knowledge of English and Western culture, way of thinking etc.
2. Chinese women respond well to a smile, laugh readily and are often delightfully childlike. It's easy to entertain them. Ukrainian women are kind, generous of spirit and whatever else they might have. They are more forward and outgoing, and much more direct about what they want, less inhibited even aggressive. Chinese women tend to let you take the lead, often lead a bizarre, isolated way of life. Once you cross the inhibition barrier and they like you, they seem sexually unstoppable.
3. There was no such thing in the Ukraine (at least in my experience) as a rich / wealthy Ukrainian woman. Well educated, yes, good jobs, yes, but little interest in the business world. China is riddled with very wealthy self-made women from all ages (I had one as 25). Many of these women advertise on sites such as chnlove. I am frequently amazed at the number of beautiful, sexy looking women in their 40s who have never married or even not much in the way of relationships, and are coming to realize what they might have missed out on. As one said to me 'it's money and career first' usually driven by prior generational poverty. No wonder China is already an economic powerhouse.
4. If Ukrainian women express a desire to come to your country, they are of course expecting you to pay for it. I frequently get letters (out of the blue) from Chinese women with money saying they have their passport, visas etc, requesting to meet me, wanting to meet at the airport and act as their guide etc all expenses paid. They all want a potential relationship of course if not a shagging holiday. Naturally I take full advantage of it. Fortunately I come from a country which is a popular tourist destination. And fortunately they come only for about a week or two max. I get to feel like a regenerating gigolo. I've had about 25 such encounters over the last couple of years ranging in age from 22 (rich daughter) to 48. Some were sexual fizzers or were going to take time to develop, some were no holes barred, some were meetings in other countries, two included return trips with a guided trip to some part of China (I was pretty selective about who I went to visit) , one was a 26 year old China Air hostess who wanted to get laid on her stopovers. All were good fun with just one or two disasters. The next arrives in a fortnight.

There is a lot of information available. Most research centres on the total population or the analysis of migrant worker population (such as 'In the industrial district of Nanshan in Shenzhen which has some 0. 4 million migrant workers. 80 percent were females and their average age was 23. '). I can provide boring references!
However, there are no precise figures available for the unmarried male / female in the age range 18-23, only anecdotal evidence.
Regardless of how you slice the pie, it is indisputable that there is an extremely large excess of young unmarried females in Shenzhen mainly working in shops, restaurants and factories.
Actually, I disagree with your 95% guesstimate for electronics factories (although this percentage may apply for sales staff in shops). In 2012, when Foxconn employment at the Longhua facility peaked at between 300, 000 and 350, 000, the female to male ratio of the factory workers was actually 2. 8:1 (roughly 74 percent, I think).
And one other point is because wages are so low and the girls like to send money home and also buy clothes and shoes, a number of them swell the ranks (part-time) of the WGs in most segments of the local sex industry. No precise statistics, but I think 'all good! '
So, IMHO, Shenzhen IS a paradise for freebie fans (who can speak a little Mandarin).
There are also other factors that contribute to the level of paradise that are common to many Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities – a post for some other time (maybe)!

I did ask my friend why he did not threaten to go to the police. He said dude of course the Chinese will be in on it and get their payoffs. This is China. I loved that answer. LOL

KTV has two areas. There is a general area with a bar, dancing area, few chairs and few sofas. If you like to stay here all you pay is for whatever you order. No pay for girls to sit with you. No groping allowed. Can dance with the girls. However do not let girls order. You negotiate with the manager for the price of drinks say 12 bottles of beer or a bottle of liquor + mixers. For food there is a menu with prices. Food prices are fixed.
To take a girl home negotiate directly with the girl. The girls main job is to make you drink, order more drinks, order food.
Other area is to have a booth for yourself. First negotiate with the manager cost for the booth. Some KTV charge for renting the booth while others do not as long as you stay there and order drinks and food.
Secondly negotiate with the manager or mamasan cost of drinks. Once you are happy with the prices go to the booth. Chinese people and most of the girls who work in KTV like to sing.
Once you are in the booth mamasan will bring batches of girls for you to select. If you are not satisfied with the first batch ask to see second batch and so on. Once you and your friends have selected a girl each the girls will sit with you sing with you etc. Groping, kissing etc is allowed if the girl is willing. Once again watch out what the girls order. The waitress always ask your permission to confirm the order.
Sometimes other girls who are free will try to come and join your party. Just shoo them off. If they do not leave call the mamasan and mamasan will get rid of them. Every girl who sits with you will cost you. You can discuss how much for each girl with the mamasan before you select. Usually this price is fixed. If you want to take your girl home negotiate directly with the girl.
Problem is you and your friends get carried away with a combination of drunk and caressing with girls. Once again it is the girls job to get you to order more drinks and food. Some of these girls can outdrink you under the table.
If you have good self control can have a very good time at a KTV. KTV girls tend to be more prettier. However do not think into believing these girls work only in KTV. They are are streetwalkers, casa girls, dormitory girls working with many mamasans. Only thing is they need to come to the KTV at certain times to join the line up. If they are not picked they can go wherever.

I am hoping two months wait should be ok. I don't go or like KTV. Many places in China you can follow the scouts to their apartment and pick the girl. I have not ever heard of the police raiding apartment buildings. Now nothing is totally safe. One Chinese scam is to have a guy open the door while your naked and claim she is his wife or some BS and you have to pay or he will go to police. I move in the shadows the best I can in shen Zhen. I want to thank Sammon for his information on KTV in Shenzhen. I have just moved to Shenzhen. I assume that there also 'family' KTVs. How do you tell the difference between family KTVs and those having WGs? Or does the one KTV provide to both, with the WGs on a different floor?
ThanksOf my many visits to KTV I have not seen any family which comes to KTV for family experience. Most flashy KTV places caters to men only. Of course if you take a family and wants a room they will not say no as long as you buy drinks and food.
Having said that there are regular bars with Karaoke singing. Lots of local Chinese guys and girls go for these. Being a monger I have not visited any of those. I have gone to regular disco bars where you can meet normal girls. I have taken some home. Funny thing is in Disco bars you need not ask a girl to dance. Let me help you. I don't know if you have been to China before or not. I normally would not respond to this comment. But, I am particularly in a good mood today. If you are a looking to pay for sex. Next this you know your bill is $700 USD for what should have been $60 max USD. They have an army of guys that work there that refuse to let you leave until you pay the bill. This situation happen to a couple people I know. You can't go to police either because they are most likely paid off. Now are all KTV's rip offs no. They are not. But it is a gamble. Are all scouts honest people No. It is a gamble. If you are too old and not a fighter I would not recommend following scouts. If you are a fighter and are a big American chances are they won't mess with you. Now you can also call an escort service and they could come to your hotel. Sounds safe enough. But, if the manager of the hotel or the security guard report you to police. Police will come and just come in your room trying to catch you in the act. Then you are fucked. You passport gets stamped as a sex tourist and you are banned from ever entering China again!
So as you can see mongering is dangerous no matter what you do. There are pros and cons of each situation. I did not mention that at the massage shops plain cloths police can run in at anytime.

My impressions are there are more family KTVs than those sexy KTV's loaded with young girls for rent.
The family KTVs tend to be plain and less expensive, where families and friends just gather and sing. Sexy KTVs tend to be glitzy and more expensive with girls, booze, food, sometimes shows.
Looks like almost every hotel in China has its own KTV to service guests. Guests can request the management to bring in companies who may or may not be available for sex after.
I was set up with a few very good-looking young English-speaking girls at some reputable 5-star hotels in ShenZhen. I kind of doubt that hotel managements will still bring in girls per guests' request after this country-wide raid of prostitution.

RTFF on this site means Read The F*g Forum. It has been used 1, 000s of times and is listed in the Abbreviations section here. It is a very common internet acronym which more usually means Read The F*g FAQ. So I say to you, please RTFF!
It is also relatively simple to negotiate with touts for WGs in PRC if all you want is one or multiple pops, ST or LT. Touts often speak enough English to get the deed done! But even if they don't, no problem. It is easy to learn the hand signs to indicate the price offers. And negotiations are often performed using smartphones. One can also learn a few simple Chinese phrases, which are again provided on this site.
Please don't mislead the other newbies reading this forum! Again, you may also confuse newbies by using the term 'scouts'.

He recently asked what KTV was! He was generally regarded as paranoid about the safety and risks involved in mongering in China.

First post, I have done and I though I should give you the update.
I was staying in Friendship Hotel Shenzhen on December 29th 2013 and wanted some action. Since the hotel has no wifi I had limited ways to arrange.
Location: Lo Wu Control Point, Lo Wu Railway StationAddress: 3011 Jiabin Road (Jiabin Lu) Central Shenzhen.
I had read some reports that the Spa in the same building (next door) has some good massage and erotics service. At night time I walked past there and it looked suspicious enough. But the men there didn't seem to want to draw me inside.
I ended up dropping by at 10:00am the next morning and they asked me several times what kind of massage I wanted. I asked for erotic massage, or best service massage as I had been told to say. They seemed to know what I was asking but they didn't speak any English and my Chinese is very poor. I used the girls phone to translate, but in the end the massage was done by a man, and no girls anywhere in sight int he sauna / spa area.
I would give it a miss if you are thinking about it. Unless there is something I missed here?
P. S. I'm not in WL girls. I prefer to use establishment.

CheersAre you sure that you have the right hotel? The only Friendship Hotel that I know is in Jiabin Road, quite close to Guomao MTR and more than 1km from Luohu MTR (next to Luohu railway station). And of course it is close to lots of action (or was, prior to the February crackdown).
It would have massage / sauna, but I have no idea whether or not it offers HE or FS service (often done on a separate floor). However, the odds are that it would offer HE and FS.

Since the mid 2000's China has reformed penalties involving first and third parties in prostitution cases with more lenient sentences of maximum 15 days detention plus possible 5, 000 yuans fine.
Most less serious cases were given 5 day detention and 5, 000 Yuans fine.

I have read of the 50,000 yuan a number of times. But the 50,000 is corruption fees for quick release, and also applies to punters. According to Global Times:

O only written when he has something useful to communicate.
He does NOT:
O make 100's of unnecessary posts in a very short period of time.
O make condescending responses to newbie posts.
O claim to know everything.

around luohu station area and the luohu cun, any time afternoon or night used to be prime time at the weekends. do you think that with the current situation, there would be more action at nights? i thought 9:00pm to midnight would be the hours when the police were more active.
i must be quite honest and state that i never even knew there were bicycle taxis in shenzhen (after living here for the last 4 years). obviously i would not be able to recognise one. nevertheless, i have ridden a bicycle taxi in changsha, but never again. i was petrified, he was doing left hand turns in front of speeding trucks! the type of bicycle taxi below is more my speed!

Is it going to be a total bust (going end of March)? I'm staying at the Baolilai Int'l Hotel (I think in the Bao'an district?). I read there is a KTV in the hotel but I read a lot of them are shutdown, or very straight-edge now. I am american and don't speak any of the language, so I figured it would be tough. I don't expect to wonder off on my own too much, and I don't want to risk it really, but I was hoping for some nice massages or sauna experiences.

They have newly designed English and Chinese websites which omit any description of the sauna services except to say that they have special areas for VIP members. Obviously they are taking the crackdown seriously, totally changing the design of their website. This also indicates that they do not expect the yanda to finish any time soon. Another member has asked me more about the ability to blur images with security. This should probably be posted in "General Info", but I will post it here because of the relevance to my previous post.
I will not be technical as it would bore you to tears.
Generally, there are a number of available methods to restore an image which has simply been blurred in Photoshop. But if a Gaussian blur has been applied, then it is a lot harder. It is still possible as long as the blurring parameters are known. So it is possible to restore a photo which has had a Gaussian blur applied to it by using trial and error and brute force, although there will be lots of halos and artefacts present.
To make it impossible to restore an image, one trick is to first apply noise to the photo and then apply a Gausian blur. Basically any deblurring processing will just make the noise so bad that it obliterates the image. However, the original blurred noisy image may have been visible and recognisable (depending on the [parameters used) , but is just completely obliterated by the deblurring process.
Another way to f#ck any smart deblurring process, regardless of the brute force used, is to apply the Gaussian blurr twice, using different parameters each time. Impossible to process successfully!
Either of the above methods will help preserve your anonymity. And another good method is to simply smear the image round and round until the pixels are so messed up and seemingly random, that no amount of processing will restore the image (but it does look a bit ugly!).
If you use video, blurring a face will not necessarily guarantee your anonymity. Various analytic processes can identify people based on other factors such as the way of walking or head movements and other personal characteristics (as long as the person is already on the database of course!).

While Hubei Xin Cun is fairly low key, the alleys in Xiang xin cun had been lively with a very good mix of fresh young girls before the last CNY crackdown. The activities ebb and flow with crackdowns over the years. That's the main appeals of the area: a large selection of young, lively, beautiful and fun girls. I had a lot of fun kidding around with those girls, even though I only speak a few Chinese words. And of course I had lots of passionate times with young Chinese girls in bed.
Rather than going straight to the saunas for sex, it's a lot more fun exploring an exotic location, enjoying the foods, sights, sound, atmosphere, people ... while searching for the prettiest and sexiest girls in those decidedly seedy alleys. I definitely developed special feelings for the people making their living in these villages. I have to thank a very special bro who set me up as a local in the areas, to immerse myself in local lifestyles, and to enjoy life with all my senses.

There are many posts on this board that give info on where the Xiang Xin Cun area is. It's very close to Hubei subway station, behind the 'Agricultural Bank' on Shennan Road East.
I had a couple of evening visits here around 8. 00 or 9. 00pm, and 1 daytime visit around 1. 00pm. I had thought the area might be quiet as Chinese New Year was approaching but it was busy and 'active'. Lots of touts around who seem reliable and will take you to apartments with many girls. There were also a lot of girls standing around in the laneways.
I got very good service for 150RMB each time. The girls were around 20-25, good looking, with nice Chinese tight bodies. Hee Hee. Many nice girls to choose from. I got all the positions I wanted, BJ, girl on top, doggie. Service was a little hurried but very good for the price.

Where are the two Landmark hotels in Luohu? I am totally confused!
Recently, a poster made apparent reference to 2 different Landmark Hotels in Luohu.
The first post reference to Landmark Hotel on 08-01-13 was " I used to be able to take to hotel some of the prettiest young girls from Luohu's BBS near hotel Panglin, Landmark, old Seibu, Golden Luohu and seafood street".
Then 5 days later he posted "The office booked me into Crowne Plaza Landmark hotel on Nanhu street, recommended by the business associate as a better hotel with lots of food and entertainment nearby. I've been reading on and off for the past month or two as I knew I was going to get to travel for business, but now the time as arrived and I will be heading on my first trip to China. Typical that I have to go after all these raids.
Anyway, I am going with a rep from the factory and expect him to treat me well, and hopefully take me to some good dinners and entertainment as well. Is it going to be a total bust (going end of March)? I'm staying at the Baolilai Int'l Hotel (I think in the Bao'an district?). I read there is a KTV in the hotel but I read a lot of them are shutdown, or very straight-edge now. I am american and don't speak any of the language, so I figured it would be tough. I don't expect to wonder off on my own too much, and I don't want to risk it really, but I was hoping for some nice massages or sauna experiences.
I'll keep reading this forum, the Dongguan forum, and other newbie info to try to get as much knowledge as I can, but any guidance is appreciated.

Some of these guys are illiterate and obviously uneducated. They would brag about how many touts they know, how many girls they screwed, how cheaply etc. It gets prety boring reading these simplistic stories from dumb, old braggards.
I enjoy travel stories, sex stories, or any stories. With more depth, more textures, more feelings ... with local exotics that make them interesting to read and more exciting for the senses. With the latest Yanda there is a risk of hotel rooms being entered. Apparently, the government is / was offering a 5, 000RMB reward for informing of prostitution activities. It would be safer, as some have reported here, to invite girls to the hotel room during the day. If you have an apartment, then it is quite safe.
I personally know that some hotels are again offering FS to VIP customers, particularly VIP guests staying in hotel. The service is offered discreetly on another (VIP) floor in the hotel that is locked off from other activities in the hotel, including the sauna itself.
Many massage / sauna places in Shenzhen offer happy endings, but these days FS is rare, as far as I know. And the girls are reluctant to go to hotel with you.
I agree, Shenzhen is not the place it used to be. But there are always compensations. The girls speak a bit more English, don't spit on the floor / carpet so much (particularly when giving BBBJ) , have better hygiene, and when you are doing a girl doggie style, you are unlikely to see a worm poking it's head out to see what all the fuss is about!

One evening last week, I accompanied a SYT to buy some 'quality' Chinese cosmetics (brand name Perfect!) from a small retail outlet. As usual we got lost and spent some time wandering around an older area off Binhe Ave. During our meandering perambulations I noticed interesting activity in a few of the alleys.
Tonight I decided to locate the area and visit later this week. We should all remember that there are WGs in most of the older cuns, not just the few discussed adnauseum in this sub-forum.
I have always used Ditu Google as Google Maps is notoriously unreliable around the China-Hong Kong border where the river according to Google, between Futian and Luohu, tends to wander up north of Binhe Ave, with all street detail disappearing.
However, Google now seems to have recently updated their mapping apps. Ditu Google is now the same as Google Maps, which is totally inaccurate in the border areas, and one can no longer overlay satellite and maps, and there are no place names on the satellite view!
So, I can't find the name of the area, and can't identify the relevant streets/place names, to direct the taxi driver. Bloody Google!

I have found some of the hotel booking sites have reasonable maps with both Chinese and english street and area names.
As I am usually up north I am not sure if this is the case down south.
I used this in Changchun and in Ordos city and it was ok.
A print of a map with the street name in Chinese and building number may prove helpful.

However, I have found some info on an interactive 3D map (Chachaba) which I have found useful previously when providing locational data to friends.
The first map depicts the general area I am looking for. The other 2 maps are for the general interest of those familiar with Shenzhen.
Unfortunately, the Chachabe maps are out of date now. Does anyone know of up to date interactive 3D maps for Shenzhen?

WRT KTVs, I now it was possible to arrange take-out with individual girls there, but I think that you would need to have a Chinese speaking person with you to facilitate. But the raids have affected KTVs as well.
In fact, caution needs to be exercised if you take a girl to your hotel room in the evenings.
If you are visiting for a short time only, then I think some of your Chinese business colleagues might be your best shot. Many of them do monger from to time!

The guy is in ShenZhen now. I told him where I would go. I did mention the crackdown and you read that. It could not hurt to look. I can't give address because there is no exact place to find illegal activities. There are no signs. You direct the person to a general area and they have to search and invest time.

I wanted to know if the places I went to last time are still active, or if they are now cold? I had some fun behind Seibu in the Luohu District as well as the pink apartments but this was 6-7 years ago.
I will be looking in the Sha Tsui area as noted below, also if anyone fancies a drink when I'm there, let me know.

Unfortunately, I cannot give any more information because I did not take in their offer and took the train to Chang Ping. Unlike before, the mamasans were more subtle and would only talk to you in a low voice, none would grab your arm.

Glad to know there are still some touts at the train station. I recently advised a newbie to China to go and look there and was attacked by another member saying it is the wrong advise. Turns out it was the right advise. I will check out Shen Zhen on my way to Thailand maybe around October. Depending on the political situation in Thailand and the situation in China now. I actually prefer the low voice of touts. I have been in to many situations there where certain touts where screaming Miss Miss to me. Talk about the whole area staring at us. I would always avoid these touts.

I have had great quality action at the crowne hotel. They usually have very interesting WGs at the bar. Some of them speak english quite well too. Be very careful to not get into the scam of ending up running a big bill at the bar though. They have a deal with the bartender I suspect.

It's been a while since I've had a chance to really go out and about, hence nothing to post but now I have a bit more freedom to roam around so wanted to report back on what I found. I started a few days ago and I I felt rusty, so just did a combination of what I read here and what I knew from my own knowledge and here are the results:
THE LAZY: I looked through WeChat and Momo for a while, but I must be doing something wrong or there are few pros left. I found nothing, whereas before it would only take a few minutes to find a profile that had the "look" and you could start negotiating a price immediately. Well, to continue with my journey of re-discovery, I continued to spread out from my current home base of Futian and go back to my old stomping grounds in Luohu.
I know a couple of places used to be mainstays in the area and I checked them out in the past few days:
-Queen Spa BBS (I use the Queen Spa because it's the most prominent landmark although they should technically be called the Xiang Xi Cun BBS, also formerly known as Seibu BBS, and also confused with Haifu Hotel BBS but they are all one and the same. Speaking of the Haifu Hotel, is now open after a remodeling and a brighter, nicer looking hotel not named Haifu anymore. I ended up trying the soup place right next to it on the righthand side, a real hole in the wall, and the soup is excellent but also expensive at about 30-50 RMB per single-serve pot but I think it caters to the HK people who live in the area. Also, the hospital to the left is a really great hospital to bring a girlfriend / female friend for healthcare, with few lines, reasonable prices, more expensive than usual Chinese prices but still much lower than western prices, caring staff, and generally a pleasant environment that doesn't feel like a constant money-grab, but I'm getting too far off topic now).
-Phoenix Road Walmart BBS (I use the Walmart because it's the most prominent landmark nearby. This is a completely different BBS than the Futian Walmart I described in my previous report, BTW).
-Terminal Mall BBS (I use the Terminal Mall because it's the most prominent landmark, though it used to be referred as the Citic Mall BBS and the Jusco BBS).
-Pink Apartment BBS (I use the Pink Apartments because they are the most prominent landmark but they should technically be called Luo Hu Cun BBS).
-Shangra La Hotel BBS (I use the Shangra La Hotel because it's the most prominent landmark nearby).
The Queen Spa BBS were probably the most busy, most well-stocked, and most infamous BBS back in the day, which is why it was the target of different exposes on local and national TV. Even though the number of young, attractive girls in the general area was higher than usual that night, I wasn't expecting much as I walked towards the alleyways. As I started walking around, I noticed they were. Actually pretty busy, to my surprise. I counted at least 20 mamasans in the various alleyways sitting on the steps, eating their seeds, bullshitting around with each other, and calling customers to come check out girls, just like before the crackdown. There were about 7-8 obvious working girls hanging around the alleyways, too. It was hard to tell there was a crackdown, which I guess will make more than a few ISG bros happy. I joked around with the mamsans that "everything is all good!" and they either laughed or ignored me. The girls hanging outside were average to below-average and I checked out the wares for 5 different mamasans, totaling about 10 girls. This shows that even if the mamasans seem to be out again, the volume of girls is nowhere near the 100's like before. I would describe selection as ranging from 3-6 on my scale of 10 (in comparison, I would have rated selection as 4-7 about 1-2 years ago and 4-8 about 4-5 years ago). I ended up doing the girl I rated a 6 and it was SOP: shower, BJ (but covered, unlike the standard BBBJ in years past), fuck, then pay. It's still 150 RMB ST as in years past, though 4 of the 5 mamasans started out at 200 before I laughed and joked about being poor so they relented. I look Chinese and can speak Chinese, so if this is different from you, there may be a different outcome but at least you know what I paid.
The Phoenix Road Walmart BBS was considered a small, lesser known, one-alley grouping of BBS, but it was well-stocked with 4-5 girls in each shop and quality was usually 5-7. I was feeling encouraged by how the Queen Spa BBS were, so I jumped in the taxi for a quick 5-10 ride here. And I discovered. Everything is completely shut down. Essentially, the complete opposite of the Queen Spa area. All the shops had the metal gates pulled down and absolutely nothing was happening. Even the adjacent alleyways (home or the "Resident Evil BBS" I wrote about years ago) were now paved, brightly lit, and / or constructed over; it was like the crazy debauchery that used to exist never was. Well, then.
The Jusco BBS used to be another hub of BBSs that had 100's of girls during it's heyday but I hadn't gone in years. I jumped into a taxi and headed out there but the taxi driver told me it wasn't called Citic Mall anymore but something like Airport Terminal Mall. I was confused. Until I arrived and I realized it had undergone a pretty extensive remodeling. So I went around back and checked out the alleyways and it's be largely re-paved so it's neat and clean, more brightly lit than before, and generally, is now a completely different (ho-free) world than I remember it. Well, then.
The Pink Apartment BBS are a bunch of Pink Apartments across the street from the back of the Shangra La Hotel. Back in the days, there were usually several dozen girls milling about in one particular alley and the main attraction was that the standard price was 100 RMB ST and many of the girls were young, inexperienced, and FOB (fresh off the bus). I have mixed memories of this place, with as many good as bad experiences. I hadn't gone to that area in years either, and arriving there, I could see there was a ton of construction going on and that a few of the pink apartments were literally no more, making way for some new high-rise office building. I was not surprised at all to find no girls whatsoever. Well, then.
The Shangra La BBS are in the group of buildings to the immediate left of the Shangra La, if you are facing the hotel. Which took another 10 minutes. She showed up and would qualify as a 6. 5 or so, which is very decent for this BBS area. I was going to pay the usual 100 RMB ST but the mamasan bitched and moaned about wanting 130 and I finally talked her down to 110. Service was SOP, but again, with a shower, then CBJ instead of the standard BBBJ of the past, and fuck. Overall, even though I did get service, I think it's way too much of a hassle to come all the way here, go up to the apartments, and wait and wait for unknown goods to appear. It's probably the least efficient BBS setup in SZ, ever.
I also followed up with some of the craigslist service providers to see what was available. The one who provided the pictures I posted previously was a real piece of work. She ended up calling me after we exchanged some SMS. I asked if she was really the girl in the pics, and the answer was, "yes, baby. " Then I asked if she would be coming for service, and the answer was, "yes, baby. " Then I said come over, and the answer was "yes, baby. " 10 minutes later I get an SMS that said, "It's my friend that will come, OK?" Ha ha ha. I was going to tell her to fuck off but the gall she had at least gave me a laugh so I said, "She will blow me while we wait for you to arrive?" and she actually replied, "no, baby. " Even more ridiculous was that a day or so later, I had the exact same exchange with this provider, except instead of SMS, it was through email: the same assurance it was her and then an email saying it was her friend instead. This time, I actually said, "great, does she look like you?" and the reply was, "yes, young sexy beauty good service. " Her opening offer had been 800 RMB ST and I jokingly said 400 RMB and I said yes, for shits and giggles. In hindsight, that was a huge red flag. About 15 minutes later, a woman about the same age, girth, and attractiveness as my late 30's-age cleaning lady showed up but the difference was that this cleaning lady had on cheap make up and slutty clothing. Goddamn, I was glad to have told her to meet me at a convenience store about 50 meters from my apartment building. She actually tried to hug me and I stopped her by shaking her hand, like we were in a business meeting. And that's when I noticed those hands were kind of leathery, so I guessed she must have been a body or foot masseuse who reached her expiration date. I explained to her that she should be going home cause there would be nothing happening, ever. Her eyes conveyed a pitiful combination of tiredness, regret, and bitterness and her reply was "300? Sexy time!" I couldn't even laugh at this car crash of desperation in front of me and I actually bought her a bottle of water so I could break a 100 and give her some taxi money to go home. Man, that was really sad.

I got 3 replies and I've been chatting with them, but so far, it looks like it's going to take a while. When you have a chance, please check out Hubei Xin Cun behind the Golden Luohu hotel and Seafood street. That area is low-key but I pulled a few very nice, attractive, polished girls from there. I will try to find the tel number for a young, good-looking, polished mamasan, who always sent me nice girls. Hell, the mamasan is probably in her early 30's, pretty, nice, cheerful, well-mannered, well-worth spending a few erotic nights with.

Hubei Xin Cun: 300 why for 2 shots at hotel, usually 1 hour.
Xiang Xin Cun: 200 Y 1 shot at hotel, about half hour. 150 Y in apartments in the cun.
