You are probably aware that Xi Jinping did a concentrated and ongoing cleanup of the whole of Guangdong, commencing some 18 months ago; the reason being that Jiang Zemin's stooges contolled the province. For some reason Shanghai was not hit very heavily.
1. AFAIK there are no bars in SZ that are equivalent to Manhattan etc, where WGs, and in particular Mongols, Pinays, Viets etc, openly hang out waiting to be picked up. At one time WGs (Chinese and Filipina) hung out in one of the bars at the Crowne Plaza in Dongmen. but I believe that that is no longer the case.
There is a cluster of expat friendly bars in Coco Park where a few WGs have congregated from time to time. These include Demon Bar, Club Viva, La Casa and McCawleys. Then there is the Aussie Xpats bar in Central Walk where friendly drinkers will be able to give you an up to date sitrep.
If you speak Chinese, then there are a large number of bars in many places (my favourites were in Guomao) where you can often meet Chinese SYTs eager for a fling with a westerner.
2. Shekou is an expat enclave in SZ, and was sanitised years ago. One of the popular Sports Bars there is The Snake Pit, but it has become more of a family friendly place in recent years. AFAIK, The Terrace was also cleaned up years ago (many times). This information is hearsay as I rarely ventured to this outpost of Western civilisation (haha). And I am told that if you do meet a WG there, it is only because she is too old and ugly to work in the more popular spots Like Futian or Luohu. And Shekou is also a fair hike from Futian or Luohu.

P.S. I know that oftimes I am criticised by one ignorant wannabe that, because I have not mongered much in the last 2 years, my information is therefore out of date and useless. What he failed to realise is that I still kept my eyes and ears open, easily recognised WGs, their mamasans and touts, and speak to colleagues. So my information was up to date. If my information was out of date or hearsay, I would write this.
At one time I used to walk though Luohu village 3 or 4 times every day. If you are talking about the apartments near the train station in Luohu, it is really getting ridiculous. 400-500? These girls have been 150 for as long as I can remember; 200 if you want to take them back to your hotel nearby. With good bargaining skills, even 100 on site. I stayed in Futian over the last few days and was directed to silver lake. It's fairly expensive at 500 RMB for happy ending sauna. However, all the girls are available for takeout!
I think it's a spot mostly for locals as I did not see any foreigners while I was there. Takeout cost is YMMV to your negotiation skills. I was told by the taxi driver normal cost is 1000 RMB for 5 hours.

Many hotels still have KTV, but mostly only DJ girls. I would suggest sticking your head in some them (Century Plaza tier hotels?) shortly after opening time, inquire pricing and keeping your eyes open. Maybe some are returning? If you do find girls, I hate to think the prices 6/12/18? I hope not. I remember in Luohu, I often used to see KTV girls dressed in their finery leaving their apartment buildings, in hairdressing shops and getting into taxis. This was a sure sign of nearby KTV action.

As no one has responded, I will provide what little knowledge that I have.
Unfortunately, I think you may have a difficult time. Check out the posts of 'Clandestine782'. He was a big black guy like you, although he spoke good Chinese. May provide a few tips.
Young, inexperienced rural girls from southern provinces will probably be terrified of you. If the girl is more experienced in life, she may think that you are a drug dealing, cheating Nigerian from Guangzhou.
If you are prepared to pay the money, I think that escort / outcall services would be your best bet. Remember it will be bait and switch, and even though you clearly inform that you are black, you may still get refused by the girl who arrives, and service is unlikely to be GFE. Google these services (I have nominated some sources previously).
Wechat is also a possibility, but be careful as LE entrapment has been reported in SZ. There are ways to minimise risk (I have written about this recently). You will also be communicating with a tout who most probably won't tell the girl anything about the agreed services. The girl, if she does not refuse you will want an exorbitant fee, so be prepared for a 3-way shouting match (including the tout). Certainly takes the edge of the experience!
The BBSs in the villages in Luohu have been repeatedly hit hard by LE. Apparently it is very hit and miss to find a WG in the villages. Again, if you do find a WG in one of the villages, be prepared for them to refuse you or simply run away. But, they may only operate at certain times, such as after midnight. And read Aiii2's post about SWs in Luohu.
Further away from Luohu, there are WGs available in villages such as ShaTsui and ShangSha, but could be difficult for you, particularly as you don't speak Chinese.
I haven't read of BW Felicity being a hot spot for some years, however I suggest a stroll around the side won't take long! Previously you could go with a mamasan to an apartment (used to be quite safe), and pick a girl. Taking her back to your BW room was also an option.
I would not recommend a KTV unless you are in a small group with an experienced leader, and I don't even know any FS saunas any more in Luohu/Futian/Nanshan (there used to hundreds).

Critical information missing from your post is your intended mongering budget, location and hotel in SZ (it is a huge city), and do you speak any Chinese at all. This could reduce the length of the answers by 90%.
Then tell us what you have gleaned from RTFF over say, the last 6 months, and then some kind soul here might fill in the blanks or offer additional information.
You could also pay the earth-shattering sum of $20 to be able to send and receive PMs. A lot of information is shared this way.

Thank you for your answers.Many of your questions can be found if you use the search function like previous poster hinted. Anyway as far as I know there is not much going around your hotel area. So prepare to take a short taxi ride if you want to find action. I know you asked about escorts before and since your choice of hotel hints me that you do not have a tight budget maybe this is the easiest and quickest option for you. Just be aware of scams, 100% fake pictures, and they will probably try to cheat you (asking more money etc), or just rush your experience and then try leave. Also to get your girl come up to your room might be a bit tricky since your hotel has two different elevators. First one to the lobby, then she must switch to the high floor elevators (room card needed). Anyway good luck!

Went to Shazui in hope to finding some cheap KTVs last week. We visited 3 of them but they all told us that they are only regular KTVs with no girls. Finally found one that was willing to serve us. Later we learned that the area had been hit by LE and everything was in undercover mode. Most of the KTVs actually have girls but they did not want to take the risk since they did not know us. After few days things got back to normal according to our DJ that I added on we chat.
Also checked out the famous alleys but was not expecting much. Heard a lot of talk about you must know someone in order to find action in Shazui these days. Not at all. Anyway, had a good time and then around 04 we decided to leave. My two friends were going back (one brought his girl) so I went out alone to check out the alleys if I could find some action. I went through Shacun and surrounding areas but could not find anything. I had no idea where to look but I found some nice barbecue at least. This area seemed to be pretty rough though, a lot of strange people walking around screaming. Reminds me of some areas I visited last year around Caopu. The reports that I read about Shawan, I discounted as 95% BS, and didn't post here. They described the street at the bus stop on Shawan Rd (near the Danping Expressway exit?) as being "row after row" of KTVs and spas with BBSs operating after midnight. The largest KTV was supposedly Gongzhu (公主) KTV.
At least you have put to rest the myth about there being dozens of BBSs after midnight.
But was there more than one KTV and spa? And were they on Shawan Rd (which would surprise me), in one of the side streets, or on the west side of the river, close to the old Shawan Cun?

I would say that someone might have been exaggerate a bit. I walked through Shawan road and that is not really a road, more like a small alley full of barbecue food stands. I did not see any BBS at all. The only thing I saw were KTV girls walking to / home from work on Dansha road. There are few other KTVs there but just like there are multiple KTVs in Huanggang or in Luohu. Nothing special. Spas is not really my thing so I do not even look for it.
If there is a area with "row after row" of action I would have noticed it or I did not find it yet. I will go back soon to investigate more.
All the areas I went to was on the east side of the river.

Just spent one night at the Landmark.

OK, its been 3 years since I been back to Shen Zhen. After hearing about the crackdown and the constant reports about things being dead there. I did not plan any trips. But, after 3 years I just don't believe what people were writing. This is China and prostitution is everywhere. So I decided to go and see for myself. If it truly is dead I would leave the following day for Thailand if it is alive and well I will stay. So I usually fly into Hong Kong airport then take the train over. Which is a pain in the ass because you have to first use Hong Kong money then once in China now you need RMB. So I decided to fly into Shen Zhen airport this time. Turn out the drive is about 25 minutes and is actually about the same as if I landed in Hong Kong and came over. So no difference. I told the taxi driver take me to Home Inn located Lianhua building No. 2011 Shenzhen Luohu District City Peoples Road 1 building lateral (Jianingna Plaza opposite. This is exactly what is says on their business card. Chinese regarding directions want things to be extremely precise. Americans usually will be in their way if they have the general idea of the area. Even if you give this address the taxi driver might look puzzled like mine did. So if you have their business card or a map you have to show them on the map. Then then they take you. If there is a problem tell them Luohu train station and you will have to walk over to the home inn which is like 4 minutes. I had to show the driver the map before he knew where it was. Driving over I saw a couple apartment buildings with what looked like touts this was like 10 minutes from my hotel. I seen this at like 3 separate places in front of apartment buildings. I did not write names of addresses because I had no idea where I was. I have no proof they where touts because I could not talk with them but it gave me confidence my trip was going to be OK. I get to the hotel check in. Drop my bags in my room and head outside. I saw 5 touts next to my hotel. I did not get to even walk 5 feet before a tout grabbed me. So to save time I am going to give just the highlights. Around the home inn. There are touts on all sides of the building except the side where you check in. I walked around the building I counted 12 touts total. So I would basically go with a tout into the apartment buildings. The apt room would either already have girls in the room or the room would be empty and they would call girls until I saw one I liked. If I was with a good tout as soon as I finished my session with one girl and walked out into the family room the manager would already have one or two more for me to pick. I would pick another one if I liked her and then go back into the room. So if with a good tout I would stay in the apartment for 2 -3 hours. Then leave to recover and eat. Right after I ate I would walk back and maybe go with a different tout. Now you might say which apartment building have the incall places. I was basically on this trip and on my last one in all of them give or take. Each building has lets say 100 apartments in one building. At least 3 apartments out of the 100 will be incall places. If we are using the Home Inn as a reference point then are at least 10 building around that area. They all have people wanting to make extra money. I did not say every apartment in the building. I said a couple apartments in each building. The cost depends on the tout you are with. One tout I use works with his wife. He gets the customers outside and she stays at the apartment and collects money etc. The cost is a flat 200 RMB. They must tell the girls don't ask for tip because at this particulate apartment. Neither the girls nor the mangers ever asked me for a tip. This is if the touts lives in the apartment. Now if it is a tout that does not live at the apartment room and just wants to make a commission the cost is $300 RMB. $200 RMB for the house and $100 RMB tip for tout is what it is but they don't tell you that. I used these touts before and on this trip. They are always a headache. I would always pay $200 plus $20-$40 RMB tip. The tout bitches then the girl they give me she starts asking for tip even before we do anything. Then sometimes after the girl starts bitching about a tip. It really kills the whole experience. It is one thing to pay a flat price and even if you do tip for incredible service. The tip being your choice not the girls. Because in China there is no tip in restaurants, taxi etc. But, when the whole experience is everyone begging for money. It just kills the mood. So the cost is still $200. I did walk the street behind Home Inn called Jianshe Rd back toward the train station. Same advice I gave my last trip report to see if see any touts. They don't even have to walk up to me. I can spot them when I see them. They give me a look I nod and follow them to an apartment building. As I walked to the train station. I did not even get to make it the whole way even half way to the station. I was stopped 5 times. I did go with two different ones and never made it to the station. All different apartment buildings. One was a standard $200 rmb plus $20 tip for tout. After 5 days of spending time in the many different apartment buildings. I had my fill of woman. I have a Thailand trip planned after flying out of China and the last thing I am thinking about is looking for more woman. I kinda burnt myself out in China. The main thing I needed in Thailand was warm weather because I am tired of the cold. Now the food in China I had everyday was unreal. Very high quality food. I love Asian food and in Shen Zhen you will not be disappointed. I'm in Thailand now and the food here is crap. The quality is very low. I never noticed it before. But after eating like a king everyday its just not the same. The farther you walk away from the train station the better the food gets. Now on the opposite side of Remin S road there is a little plaza. I want to say it is across from a major hotel called Century Plaza hotel I think. I can't remember. But anyway this plaza is where the police station is so everyone will know where it is. You map lovers out their can post your maps and impress us with your google map skills. This place 3 years ago was filled with many touts and girls. But now all the girls are gone. The touts are gone also. I did find two and used one. $200 plus 40 tip. Also walking on Remin S road away for the train station past the home inn. There is a massage place an a tout that works for them told me oil massage for $200 and $400 RMB FS. This was at the end of my trip and I did not try. But, I could imagine there bringing 5 other people in here trying to milk money out of you. I did save their business card. It is all in Chinese however. I will probably post the card. I did take pictures as well but my internet in Thailand is super slow. So will have to post at a latter time. So bottom line is Shen Zhen is still great for mongering. Yes, the sauna situation is probably different. But I did not go to any saunas so I would not know. Great trip. The end.

There were always touts on Renmin Road. Glad to see they are back after the clean up. There is another Japanese buffet on a side street West of Renmin Road. We were dining late in the huge, dark and cavenous restaurant with no customer, when the managers, chefs and waitresses had their late dinner. Everything was tasty and delicious until I saw a huge rat the size of a cat scurry up on the kitchen counter hunting for food. The parking behind the building was crawling of huge rats ransacking garbage bins for food.

I told the taxi driver take me to Home Inn located Lianhua building No. 2011 Shenzhen Luohu District City Peoples Road 1 building lateral (Jianingna Plaza opposite. This is exactly what is says on their business card. Chinese regarding directions want things to be extremely precise. Americans usually will be in their way if they have the general idea of the area. Even if you give this address the taxi driver might look puzzled like mine did. So if you have their business card or a map you have to show them on the map. Then then they take you. If there is a problem tell them Luohu train station and you will have to walk over to the home inn which is like 4 minutes. I had to show the driver the map before he knew where it was. Driving over I saw a couple apartment buildings with what looked like touts this was like 10 minutes from my hotel..

The Landmark is one of the finest and best-value hotel in ShenZhen, frequented by wealthy Chinese people. My Chinese friends booked me into this hotel due to its proximity to Xiang Xin Cun which used to be loaded with pretty girl. Touts are the middlemen who will always lie to both dies of buyers and sellers to make their cuts and try to steal from everyone in every deal. They are always problems.
About 3 years ago, there had been multiple reports of kidnaps, robberies and assaults when guys followed touts to the small BBS behind the Humei hotel in ChongPing. Pictures were posted of a guy hit by a beer bottle on his head. One large patch of scalp was peeled off bloody. Guys reported being held prisoners while criminals search their hotel rooms for debit cards and torture them for PINS. There are probably 3 to 5 times incidents and crimes to foreigners that went unreported.
Potentially a foreigner walking alone with a tout into a dark alley anywhere may become a target for kidnap and robberies. The criminals know foreigners are not likely to report crimes and to follow up with prosecution. I was walking around Luohu cun with a wingman who lives in SZ, speaking perfect Putonhoa, weighing about 200 lbs, with martial arts training, knowing many mamasans in the area, but we both still had to put up our defense and exercise caution walking with the touts to their apartment.
But in the least few years many times I had been wandering by myself into the dark and smelly alleys of the cums late at night by myself in search of sweet Chinese pussies, and had not once been threatened or attacked. So you should use judgment, assess risks and prevent crimes.
It may be better to ask the tout to bring out girls for inspection, then if agreed, give them your hotel room for meetings later. Or you could wait and join up with any groups of guys who are on the search. There will be safety in number.

There are areas of very high danger and other quite safe areas in both cities
For example there is no way I would walk at night time through the back streets of one of the hundreds (possibly thousands) of old villages remaining in outlying districts of SZ. Aiii2, you're a braver man than me!
Bao'an district, in particular, has a bad reputation, and foreigners (even the ubiquitous Singaporeans) are not made to feel very welcome.
For example, ShiYan village in Bao'an has many WGs in the streets. Imagine alleys (no lighting) and almost half the width of those in XiangXi village. Furtive villagers brushing past you in the dark muttering to themselves, tripping over the stone steps protruding into the alley, and 100 RMB girls tug your arm trying to drag you into old decrepit 2 storey buildings. And this is just during the daylight hours!
On the other hand, going to an apartment in the old well-known Luohu BBS areas or apartments close to a 4/5 star hotel are reasonably safe (there are always exceptions). Of course WGs in some places are famous for trying to up the charges, be it BBS or massage etc. Unfortunately, these places are now dead, with only Luohu Cun and Luohu Mansions having a few WGs.
BTW, some of the Luohu sauna girls are now reported to be offering BBBJCIM to customers.
But hopping in a car or taxi with a tout is asking for trouble, whether it be to meet a girl, visit a KTV, sauna or whatever.

BTW, I have never seen more than 1 or 2 touts on Renmin Nan Lu and they were down toward the Shangri La.
All this talk about the Home Inn "right off" Renmin Nan Lu over the past 18 months, motivated me to go have a look. I found many 2 star hotels in the Lianhua Plaza towers. I can't read back the names of 2 of them (bloody autocorrect on my cellphone). All the hotels have reception on the upper floors of the towers. The hotels were the Home Inn (5 F), Shujie Holiday Inn (25 F) and the Hongwei Hostel (4 F). The whole building smelt of damp, and the filthy, slow and jerky lifts averaged 10 minutes to arrive, with apartment residents and companies sharing the lifts with the hotels. Not my style!
If we look at the period prior to 2010 and particularly before 2006, there were so many WGs throughout Luohu and Futian, that this was the easy way to pick up a cheap girl for the night. Some ISGers would even drive their cars around picking up SW's (you know who you are!) and there was often competition to find and report the latest BBS hot spot with fresh young girls. Mongering reports flew thick and fast in those days!
The situation today is totally different. The whole of Luohu is virtually a desert (the few remaining WGs are of depressingly low quality) and the number of Futian WGs has been decimated.

Wow! Where can you get delicious Chinese meals for 12 to 15 RMB. Somewhere on Renmin Nan Lu? {S N I P}Actually there is a really cheap 17 RMB restaurant on Renmin Nan Rd, and yes, I have eaten there one evening in June this year (2015). It is about 50 m south of Jiabin Rd, opposite King Glory Plaza.
The restaurant was newly refurbished, and the smell of formaldehyde lingered in the air and caused my eyes to smart, even though all the doors and windows were wide open in the hot smoggy weather. Unfortunately this let in hordes of cockroaches that crawled over our feet as we ate. But the deleterious food was great for 17rmb. It was basically a buffet selection with a few dishes cooked to order.
We started with salted duck eggs (extra cost) which had been soaked in Sudan Red dye (a toxic, cancer-causing colourant normally used in solvents, petrol, floor polishes and the like), and a couple of steamed pork buns, whitened with a fluorescent whitening agent, and whose meat filling was made from waste paper cartons.
The tea had a lingering and pervasive sweet taste, which was a sure sign of very high lead content. I also noticed that the wood ear fungus had the taste of sodium metabisulfite. I did not eat any of the green leafy vegetables because of my fear of highly toxic pesticides such as endosulfan. The rice was dodgy as I could actually taste the cadmium (probably 60 times the legal limit) which is in 2/3 of the rice grown in Guangdong province.
In the dark interior of the restaurant, the pork belly gave off an iridescent blue glow, which was likely caused by bacterial contamination. However, my colleague told me that the government said the meat was safe to eat if cooked thoroughly. But he said it was quite tasty deep fried, as there was the pleasantly faint aroma of recycled gutter oil.
And you guys think that I am joking! This food has had a dramatic effect on the sperm counts of Chinese guys in south China. If you ever want to be a father, be warned!

Can anyone advise how to locate quality WGs that operate in-call service?
They are usually in better class apartment complexes, whose residents will not hesitate in getting management to terminate their leases, if they suspect they are operating as WGs in the apartments. And by quality, I mean an order of magnitude better than the girls that are in the slummy LoWu high rise apartments. Not only are the mummies almost non-existent in the streets these days, but the few girls they have are past their use by date and mostly repulsively ugly. Even the WGs in Luohu Cun are more prevalent, and better looking (although not what I am looking for).

All this talk about the Home Inn "right off" Renmin Nan Lu over the past 18 months, motivated me to go have a look. I found many 2 star hotels in the Lianhua Plaza towers. I can't read back the names of 2 of them (bloody autocorrect on my cellphone). All the hotels have reception on the upper floors of the towers. The hotels were the Home Inn (5 F), Shujie Holiday Inn (25 F) and the Hongwei Hostel (4 F). The whole building smelt of damp, and the filthy, slow and jerky lifts averaged 10 minutes to arrive, with apartment residents and companies sharing the lifts with the hotels. Not my style!

Thank you very much for your compliments. However, I don't know why you bring up the Catacombs to my reference of BBS and upstairs apartments in SZ. The Catacombs were at ground level with wooden beds and no sheets and dirt floors with no indoor plumbing. 30 RMB ST for those that dared to try. Although we would often tour the area with newbies, I only tried a girl once. On the contrary, SZ probably had more BBS and apartment girls than anywhere in China in the day. I did my fair share as well.

Sorry to ask so many questions, but it is 4 years since I last worked in SZ. The company that I work for is in the Science and Technology Park in Nanshan, and I have an apartment in OCT. Things have certainly changed!
Yesterday I went for a walk from GuoMao station down to the Shangri-La and back. It was about 6:00 pm.
I walked around Luohu Cun a few times. There were massage girls hanging out of the side doors of the hairdressing salon along the main entrance road. I did not stop to speak to the hairdressing salon girls as I felt uncomfortable with 4 or 5 girls (all MILFS) all leaning out of the doors, loudly competing with each other, amidst dozens of ordinary shoppers walking by. Do they offer any extras (even he)?
There are also massage girls trying to sell services in both of the roads to the right of the main entrance. The massage girls are all MILFs, and claimed to offer BBBJ and FS at 300 RMB (I know they always try to upsell) . Do they really offer FS (upstairs) and what is the true cost?
In Luohu Cun, the main road and the alleys to the left were hives of activity, but the 2 roads to the right were very quiet with few pedestrians (apart from near the restaurant on the corner). I even walked along each of the cross alleys of the roads to the right.
I did not see any mommasans in Luohu Cun, and certainly no WGs. Is there a better time of day to visit?
I also walked around the Shangri-la and back up the road beside the railway line back to Guomao, and checking the sides of the apartment buildings. I did not see a single mommasan, going to and from the Shangri-La. I will try again later one evening (but this means I will need a taxi to return to OCT), unless you tell me I am wasting my time. Additionally, I did not see any massage shops open on the road alongside the Century Plaza Hotel. I thought these shops were a permanent fixture in Luohu!

You, like many other punters use Carrianna Plaza in Renmin South Rd as a reference point. However, a few posters recently have also referred to a place called Jianingna Plaza. They are actually one and the same location. This may have confused many people who don't read Chinese.
Chinese: 佳 宁 娜 友 谊 广 场.
Pinyin: Jiāníngnà yǒuyì guǎngchǎng.
English: Carrianna Friendship Plaza.
BTW 广 场 can be translated as 'Plaza', 'Square' or 'Place', depending on your whim.

The photo was taken by my long time GF from the roof of her apartment (Huitai 'be' on Yanhe South Road) almost exactly one year ago.
The Shangri-La Hotel is on the left, and the tiered ship-like Century Plaza Hotel is on the right with Renmin Sout Rd running left to right. The mongering location are:
(1) Luohu Cun (aka the Pink apartments) in the foreground).
(2) Shagri-La apartments (4 towers) are visible behind the circular building in the centre of the photo, and.
(3) 2 of the 6 Luohu Mansions towers (aka Indian Restaurant buildings) are visible immediately to the right of the Century Plaza.

Anyway, one more question. How do I find the plaza mentioned below? The excerpt below was buried in a huge lengthy one paragraph post. Previously, obviously a real hotspot. As the writer went there again recently, maybe it was the wrong day of the week, time of day, or there had been recent police activity. So definitely worth another look!

IkksmanI just realized that the photo in my previous post, also shows a 3rd hotel. The tall building in the background with the sawtooth roof line is the Grand Hyatt on the other side of the river, on Bao'an South Rd, near MixC. It used to be, in days of yore, a place where there were often mamasans.

I will have a stab at answering some of your questions.
Quality Incall Services: These places try to fly under the radar. I doubt anyone will post details for you on ISG. However, when you have PM privileges and a bit of a posting history, you may get some information (via PM).
Luohu Cun is currently being cleaned up by the gong an. I suspect that it is on its last legs now! It has been reported that the massage girls have now disappeared from the Hairdressing / Chinese Massage Salons. There may be still some mamasans and girls in LHC. Their appearance will depend on the frequency of Police raids or checks. Time of day is not important. I have even seen a few mamasans there at 7:00 am as I was going to work!
If you do find apartment girls around the Luohu area, the LHC apartments are bigger and cleaner than the Shagri-La or Luohu apartment towers. Often, there is one big room, with an extra partitioned shagging section (sometimes just draped sheets and a mattress), plus one good-sized bedroom. You need to climb stairs in LHC, but maybe that is better than waiting for slow, dirty lifts in the apartment towers, with the inquisitive old residents staring at you and looking you up and down.

1/ I don't know of, nor ever heard of any plaza on Renmin South Rd, that was ever filled with touts and WGs.
2/ There is no Police Station on, or in a plaza on, Renmin South Rd. Full stop, end of story.
There is always only one Police Station in each subdistrict in SZ. Renmin South Rd is wholly within the Nanhu Subdistrict (of Luohu District). And its Police Station is on Nanhu Rd (opposite the back / carpark entrance of Shenzhen No. 5 People's Hospital). I have had to go there a number of times, haha.
3/ There are only 2 major hotels on Renmin South Rd. They are close to each other, but totally impossible to confuse. I have never met anybody who does not know the distinctive Century Plaza Hotel after they have visited the area once, or driven past on the expressway. It is a classic reference point; and better known than Carrianna Plaza!

P.S. None of the above information was gleaned from Google maps. Google maps is fairly useless for locating specific places, unless you already know the area, particularly as the product doesn't have 'streetview' and has limited place names. However, it is useful to help guide other mongers to a location.
Friend of mine found an old phone number of a mamasan who used to work the Shagri-La area.
We rang and she told us that in November, plainclothes police (out of town squad), started posing as customers at the Shagri-La and Luohu apartments. They would take the mamas an, the occupants of the apartment, and any other customers, back to the Police Station. Some of the girls were sexually assaulted and mamasans and other occupants of the apartments were roughed up. After interrogation, they would be given 10-15 days detention.
Police were then regularly seen checking the area. Some police would leave bicycles, with lights flashing, against buildings or even inside specific buildings. And motorbikes would cruise the area. A new style of Christmas decorations!
After 2 weeks, the remaining mamasans were too scared to go out on the pavements. By early December, all trade in the area had totally collapsed, no more mamasans equals no more girls! The girls were not coming to work! She did not know when the Gong An attention would cease; they were still checking the areas by bicycle and leaving a few bikes, lights and all, inside buildings and standing on footpaths. Maybe 12th day of Christmas, Spring festival? Or maybe the antagonists will develop new MOs?

Thanks for a very well crafted report. You have an excellent knowledge of Nanhu (Luohu). I wish that you had written these recent posts before I embarked on 3 fruitless expeditions around Luohu, and posted questions that were apparently based on incorrect information.
Over the past few days, I have browsed all the 2015 SZ forum posts. I jotted down the names of newly identified mongering locations (primarily BBSs and KTVs), that were accurately identified and confirmed. I noted that the members who provided this information were Aiii2, Ikksman, and Szexpress (they also provided updates on the old, now closed locations). I did not read any other mongers' reports of visits to these places (with the exception of KwanKai, who confirmed Ikksman's information on Shangsha). Why not?
The BBSs and KTVs that I noted were:
1) Shatsui (updated information only).
2) Xiasha,
3) Shangsha,
4) Shuiwei,
5) Xinzhou,
6) Shajing and.
7) Shawan.
But it puzzles me why there are not more updates on these places, but there are numerous reports on the same old (and now non-existent) places. It would be great to read updates together with rates, times of day, and number and categories of girls, etc. Perhaps some mongers have visited but have not posted reports?
I will start visiting some of these places with a friend of mine. Can anyone advise if places are still worth visiting during the Spring Festival?
Please excuse me if I have unintentionally maligned any posters here, as I may have missed a post or two.

I don't read Chinese so I am not sure. I think these names are phonetic equivalents of the same Chinese word. The branch in Citic City Plaza had the Dairyu sign. The one in Louhu is much more convenient if you monger.
Next to Home Inn there is another Japanese buffet. I was eating late there one night when the chef, managers and workers were having their late dinner leaving, the kitchen unattended. A huge rat was wandering on the counter searching for food.
What are your opinions of the food in Tairyo?
Are there any other good places in that area and in Luohu?

About 2 weeks ago I had a go in Shangsha again. Not a girl in sight, so I called one that I had before. She said that right now it was "in check", so we went to a near by hotel.
I am also curious about all the other cuns. There must be more hot spots around. I remember some posts about Daxin, but have never had a look. Maybe there are places further away from the city centre?

KitThere is a gap between 2 buildings on the opposite side of the Renmin South Rd. I think it may have been across from a major hotel; maybe the Century Plaza? I can't remember! Behind the buildings, there is a square and a Police Station. Now all mongers will know the location. Below is a photograph of 3 WGs frolicking in the square.
We also saw a new Police CRH pursuit bicycle based on CRC technology (Bombardier or Alstom), to chase those poor WGs down and around the narrow alleys of villages. Bit like running the bulls in Pamplona.

Currently, it is not possible to fly direct to Shenzhen Bao'an airport (SZX) from USA, Europe or any other non-Asian airport (irrespective of what some posters have implied).
Tomorrow (January 27), China Southern will commence direct flights between Shenzhen and Sydney.
Americans and Europeans will have to wait awhile for direct flights to SZX (remember Guangzhou is the main hub for China Southern).
You could fly to Shenzhen but this would require transit at another airport for between 4 and 20 hours! Then add the taxi times in Shenzhen traffic on the G4 and Binhe Ave (peak hour is most of the day). Admittedly, things will improve when the MTR Line 11 (express) opens. But with all the collapses and sink holes caused by tunneling last year, who knows when the new lines will open.
For Americans and Europeans, there are still better ways to travel to Shenzhen, principally via HKIA and then ferry or MPV (usually Toyota Alphard). And miracle of miracles, one can pay for these trips in RMB (so no need for HKD haha).

IkksAnd just a quick note: The flights into and out of HKIA from most areas in China and maybe other Asian locations are considerably cheaper than flying into SZX or even Guangzhou. Of course, local transportation eats up some of the savings, but there is no "free" lunch.

Perthden Hotel in Luohu, go to the 5th floor. Ask for anmo, front desk gives you a locker key, old and small locker and shower area. Area with lounging chairs if you want to rest and watch TV. Upstairs are rooms with bed and TV screen.

I don't read Chinese so I am not sure. I think these names are phonetic equivalents of the same Chinese word. The branch in Citic City Plaza had the Dairyu sign. The one in Louhu is much more convenient if you monger.
Next to Home Inn there is another Japanese buffet. I was eating late there one night when the chef, managers and workers were having their late dinner leaving, the kitchen unattended. A huge rat was wandering on the counter searching for food.

The are so many restaurants in Luohu it is impossible to give even a cursory impression here (and of course it is OT). There are hundreds (thousands) of restaurants that represent all different provincial styles of cooking, the most common probably being Hunan.

The most common way to wish someone a Happy New Year is to say "Gōng xǐ fācái". The actual translation is something like "Respectfully wish you to get rich!" Now that doesn't sound like a Chinese greeting does it? LOL.
If someone you know well wishes you a happy new year, you can respond "Hóng bāo ná lái" (Give me a red envelope). Haha!

Don't know how the food is served in the Luohu branch. The one at Citic Plaza had chefs cook and serve the food right in front of you.

My preferred Japanese restaurant in Luohu is on one of the top floors of King Glory Plaza. The level above the large health club. If you go up by escalator rather than elevator, you can't miss it. If you fly into certain designated airports in China and have a confirmed onward flight you can apply for a 72 hour visa free entry.
To enter China from Hong Kong into Shenzhen there are other rules.
Best to check the Chinese embassy website in the USA for the latest information.

Thanks guys for the fast response. I have not used a US passport for years since I have access to Taiwan passport. China no longer need a Visa for people with Taiwan Passport.
I didn't know that they have a 1 time entry for $50. Last I heard that it was a 10 Year Visa for $140.
I am asking for my brother who have never been to China and just want to visit Shenzhen for a couple of days. I will pass the information to him.

Currently, it is not possible to fly direct to Shenzhen Bao'an airport (SZX) from USA, Europe or any other non-Asian airport (irrespective of what some posters have implied).
Tomorrow (January 27), China Southern will commence direct flights between Shenzhen and Sydney.
IkksWow. That will put pressure on HK Sydney. I travel this route 5-6 times a year. At least 50 % loads are mainland Chinese. Pity the playground now is a shadow of former self.

You can get your China visa 10 yr for 1100 hkd or 140 usd at your China consulate in the US or at the China consulate in HK but it take 3-4 days, that is why you should plan ahead and get it in the state so you don't have to over paid like other poor newbie.

I would be interested in how well WECHAT works in ShenZhen. If police cracks down seriously on prostitution, I would be very careful of police stings. Just use the feature to find nearby people and deal only with females.

The only problem for the casual Western visitor is the action is not out in the open as it used to be. BBSs action comes and goes depending on police attention.
By far the best way to have a fun time is to have a Chinese colleague or friend who is a regular monger. Discreet conversations with business colleagues and associates may identify potential partners in crime (actually mongering is not a criminal offence).
Westerners' problems is that they cannot speak or read Chinese and are only in SZ for a few days. Mongering by Chinese, for those that can afford it, is a regular pastime. I have many Chinese business colleagues who monger at KTVs, sauna (generally only BBBJCIM in SZ saunas at present), etc etc. I have even stayed at a company 'hotel' (actually luxury townhouses) accompanied by 2 SYTs who were present at the banquet earlier that evening.
I have many times recommended:
1. Learn some useful Chinese phrases.
2. Stay at a Chinese 4 star hotel.
3. Make friends with the concierge, doorman, etc.
4. Use the hotel's spa / sauna service. If possible use in-room service.
5. Be friendly and ask for extra services as you progress through the normal routines.
6. Ask for personal WeChat ID for out of hours services.
7. Not just money, but a small gift is always appreciated.
8. Ask if she has GFs who would like to meet you.
9. Look in English language internet sites for personal (not agency) advertisements. Avoid girls who give excuses such as "I have my periods, but I have beautiful young friend who also speaks English and is qualified 'tui na' therapist".

Tried one of the WeChat pimps. You need to be able to read and write mandarin for this to work. Even then they ask 700 for FS. Girl was nice and the one from the pictures sent. I was back in Shenzhen a few weeks ago and headed for Xiangxicun (at the east end of Jiabin Rd) as this used to be a great place. Back in Australia, as an interesting side note, I observed in the CBD of Brisbane 5 large buses disgorging a load of maybe 300 young Japanese tourists, of whom 75% were female. They were the most anorexic airport girls 飞机场 (fēijī chǎng)) that I have ever seen, and not one could be termed chubby. They made Chinese girls look positively buxom. This look is the latest Japanese fad apparently. I wonder if it will spread to China as Kungfubellies seem to becoming more and more prevalent these days, just like the JolliBeebellies in PI.

BTW Christmas and New Year (IE Jan 1), is an ideal time to visit Shenzhen. None of the migrant workers have start started on their hometown trip for Chinese New Year (Jan 27) / Spring Festival, and many normally non WGs are packing the KTVs etc to earn some extra cash to take home. Even bars are a good place to find SYTs. An added advantage is that some of the workers get one or two days holidays over the Christmas period so if you find a gem, you might be able to spend a bit more time with her. So I am hoping some of the people here have a good dentist that they can recommend and provide a phone number so I can pass it along to him.
I told him that he should call the dentist first to make sure to schedule an appointment and also know how long the whole procedure would take. Since he needs 3 root canal and 3 crowns, he would also like to know the if dentist would use IV like they do here in the USA so he can sleep through the long procedure. I know that my dentist needed about 8 days to make the crowns so I told him that he needs to schedule at least 10 days and 12 days would be better in case there is a delay.
Any help would be appreciated. There is no rush since he is planning the trip for late Oct. Thanks.

Actually, I just remembered that the dental practice that stuffed up my crown was Ace Dental, in the Excellence Times Square Building immediately behind the ICC Building on Fuhua 1st road. The dentist was an attractive 30 ish Chinese lady with excellent English and an even more attractive young nurse who was short and who could not avoid rubbing her boobs against my arm and upper body because of their amazingly huge size.
However, the problem with the crown was most likely the technician from the company that made the crown, rather than the fault of Ace Dental.

If you speak Chinese and are brave (maybe foolhardy), there are still some FS action saunas in some of the old villages that are around (such as the ones near Sha Tsui village and a few other places that have been identified here about 18 - 24 months ago).

I do not think that any SZ saunas offer FS these days. Most of the 100's of surviving saunas that used to offer FS, now offer BBBJCIM instead. Ask for "huán bǎo" (环保). Not sure if any hotel saunas offer extras off any kind. It is a pity that few members report on sauna action. BTW it is very easy to distinguish between the family saunas and those where the desired services are offered.
Admittedly there is more action in the outlying districts than in the traditional Luohu and Futian districts. But even XiangXi Cun is back in action again. A friend of mine visited 2 weeks ago and reported good action, but girls were difficult to budge below 350 kuai. He also said that there were a number of mamas in the Shenzhen / Luohu railway station plaza. They were also initially asking 350! I would bet that mamas are also on the streets in other places as well.
There are also plenty of KTVs and there is little need to travel to Danshui / Huizhou as the SZ ones are just as good and about the same prices. However some Chinese language ability is required. There is even the rumour of a naked KTV!
Where are all these hotspots? Unfortunately they are not reported on this forum and I do not wish to plug other websites. There are Chinese language sites that give plentiful reviews of SZ saunas and incall / outcall service providers.
Unfortunately, I can't get to SZ this year to gather more information (off to wonderful Islamabad again).

I assume that the cabbies don't speak any English as a general rule?It depends! Depends on what part of Shenzhen you stay in and what part of Dongguan you work in. Both are large cities. Have a look at maps. For example, the northern parts of Bao'an district in SZ are quite close to the southern towns in Dongguan.
Also you may find it difficult to get a taxi to take you between the places during peak hours. Taxi drivers won't speak much English, so it is better to have written instructions to hand to the driver. Even then he may need to phone his colleagues. Another possibility is to hire a private (black) taxi to drive you both ways every day. Probably possible to negotiate a fair price with him. Ask at the company to help you find a dependable guy. If the company will pay your transport, then this would be the way to go. There might even be other employees who make the same trip.
Again, depending on your departure point and destination, a CRH train my be the quickest way to go!
If you provide your destination in DG, then we may be able to provide more helpful suggestions.

Stay in shenzhen if at all possible. Stayn locally is also I feel a whole lot safer and a lot less nerve racking. For your first spa experience I recommend visiting lushan hotel spa. Go to the spa and go with the flow. Bring a cellphone with google translate app if you don't speak chinese. When the manager shows you to the massage room a girl with a eye catching outfit will eventually show up. Unless the girl ia 300% your cup of tea nod your head no and say "hua yi ge". If the girl just stays put and says something just keep nodding your head no. If the girl enters your room immediately and starts preparing stuff, walk out and find a manager to get you another room. There have been a number of requests here for reports on nightclubs and bars. As you reside in the Futian area, and apparently close to Coco Park (Gouwu Gongyuan), why don't you provide some reports on nightclubs and bars with music in the area? You have already mentioned Pepper and Sicilia, so apparently you are a patron of these types of establishments.
Requested information includes ambience, type of music, clientele (students, FLs, WGs etc), likelihood of English spoken, friendliness (aggressiveness of Chinese males) etc.
A suggested list of places close to Coco Park (and there are many more) is Club LAX, Club Viva, Demon Disco, Ella Park Club, Evening Show Nightclub, Feeling Club, Fever Nightclub, La Vie Nightclub, Lili Marleen, Pepper Club, Sicilia Club.
There are dozens of other clubs as well. Why not also report on a few that are in the CITIC city plaza and Guomao?
I am positive that these reports would be very well received by the younger members here!

And there are very few truly independent WGs around.
English is not a language spoken in SZ except in very large corporations.
Of the millions of factory, construction, shop and restaurant workers, maybe 1 in 10,000 is able to communicate effectively in English. Office workers, maybe 1 in 100. The only place where English is generally able to be spoken is in the technology companies where maybe 1 in 10 are competent in English (and some of these probably studied overseas). Of course 5 star hotels and brand shops in upmarket shopping malls hire some competent English speakers.
The problem is that written English may be taught in middle school, but no spoken English communication is taught. The CET-4 English exam which is a pre-requisite for college and university again does not test spoken communication. And of course the older people have zero English.
Unfortunately, even standard Mandarin is rare (as it is heavily polluted by local dialects). As Pushkin has pointed out, sometimes you are lucky to even be able to communicate with taxi drivers in Putonghua.
The end result is that many younger people are able to read some English, but you have no hope of holding a meaningful English conversation with them. So, when you read here of mongers with zero Chinese skills holding lengthy intimate conversations with SYTs, the story is likely to be BS.
Just book the girl and have fun. If necessary, you can use an app like WeChat (which has a translate function) to communicate a few simple things.

I don't think that anyone here has written about another long time and well known hotel with BBBJCIM sauna (of course used to be FS like many other saunas). This is the Overseas Chinese Hotel (华侨酒店 Huáqiáo Jiǔdiàn) at the southern end of Heping Rd, just past the Shenzhen Railway Station. There is even a covered overhead pedestrian walkway from the station to the hotel.
I have never visited the sauna so cannot comment on the quality or quantity. I do know that few employees speak any English there.

P.S. Some time ago I wrote that in Shenzhen, there is only one Police Station in each sub-district. There is actually an exception to this rule. Directly behind the Overseas Chinese Hotel is a second Police Station in Nanhu Sub-district. This is the Luohu Port Police Station. The Nanhu Police Station is directly behind the Shenzhen No. 5 People's Hospital on Nanhu Rd, and not on some mythical plaza on Renmin South Rd as one writer of fiction has claimed).
For years and years there has been that empty block between Luohu Cun and Renmin South Rd. It is to become the 'Great China Global Economic and Trade Square' and will also house a Marriott Hotel.
Construction work has begun on the low level building on Renmin South Rd. I am not sure the date of the photo (from Baidu Streetview) showing the construction work, but I think that it is possibly up to a year old.
Can the giant skyscraper shown in the artist's depiction also fit on the block? Or will it require the demolition of the remaining 5 storey apartments in Luohu Cun?
Contrary to the opinion of many posters here, it genuinely was a far better place than the filthy mafia-run Shagri La apartments and the Indian Restaurant building apartments. The LC places were clean, relatively spacious, without slow filthy elevators (even if you did have to climb many flights of stairs).

Where to now? Luohu Cun was ALL I knew, I like the alleys and how you can just sneak in and out of an apartment. Is there anything else that's similar to LC? Or better yet, is there anything similar to LC IN Luohu? LC was just so easy to find (thanks to RTFF), I first started reading in 2013 and just ventured out and LC was pretty easy to find so I never explored other places. Are there any other places that are similar to LC with the same set up? (I. E. Alleys, mamasans, apartments?

What I can report from my last visit in May is that massage therapists in in regular SPAs neglect to do any service at or around the private parts. Massage rooms are checked through the small door windows regularly by security personal. In one place I was able to get a hand job by one of the ladies doing the thigh massages in the rest seat area. I had to hire a private room inside the place. She would only do it covered by a towel and the door window was checked several times from the outside during this session, my therapist was extremely conscious wich lead to an unpleasant experience. Something I will not repeat.
That of course says nothing about being save from law enforcement in more liberal SPAs, but certainly shows that there is some huge awareness among SPA owners towards the matter, most likely because LE is pretty strict about it.
I will be in Shenzhen around mid October. Is it still dangerous to try a massage parlour? I know 2 nice places close to the Landmark Crowne Plaza Hotel that I would like to visit again.

Don't know if anyone here is interested, but the cheap KTVs in Shawan in Longgang have all been shut down. Aiii2 first wrote about the KTVs about 2 years ago, and he subsequently visited a number of times. There are plenty more around if one is willing to do the homework.

Fast Eddy, as always I respect your opinion but there is still plenty of action in China, even in Shenzhen. I regularly communicate with guys who live in Shenzhen who also update me on some of the action. Of course it will never be like previously, and mongering will be very difficult for casual tourists and visitors who do not speak any Chinese, or do not have local contacts.
I do not think that any SZ saunas offer FS these days. Most of the 100's of surviving saunas that used to offer FS, now offer BBBJCIM instead. Ask for "hun bǎo" (环保). Not sure if any hotel saunas offer extras off any kind. It is a pity that few members report on sauna action. BTW it is very easy to distinguish between the family saunas and those where the desired services are offered.
Admittedly there is more action in the outlying districts than in the traditional Luohu and Futian districts. But even XiangXi Cun is back in action again. A friend of mine visited 2 weeks ago and reported good action, but girls were difficult to budge below 350 kuai. He also said that there were a number of mamas in the Shenzhen / Luohu railway station plaza. They were also initially asking 350! I would bet that mamas are also on the streets in other places as well.
There are also plenty of KTVs and there is little need to travel to Danshui / Huizhou as the SZ ones are just as good and about the same prices. However some Chinese language ability is required. There is even the rumour of a naked KTV!
Where are all these hotspots? Unfortunately they are not reported on this forum and I do not wish to plug other websites. There are Chinese language sites that give plentiful reviews of SZ saunas and incall / outcall service providers.
Unfortunately, I can't get to SZ this year to gather more information (off to wonderful Islamabad again).

Unfortunately we didn't found any action in XiangXi Cun.

If I was in SZ at the moment, and felt like something a bit more relaxed and classier than XXC, I would go by train (East Rail Line from Luohu or Lok Ma Chau) to Sheung Shui which is the first station, and visit a renowned 141 walk-up. The address is 54 San Fung Ave, and there are up to 18 girls there.
Details of some of the girls are found on the internet (you know, that famous 141 place). You do not need to make appointments for most of the girls. The prices are 250 - 350 for FS, generally you are not rushed and even get a bit of a massage, some play and a BJ first.
From Sheung Shui Station, take Exit A3 (or D1?) and use the pedestrian overpasses to cross San Wan Rd and Lung Sum Avenue. It is a bit of a roundabout way and difficult to describe, but I am sure that you can find it. You exit on San Fat Street. Walk (away from the station) to the Watsons on the next corner, turn left, and at the T junction turn right along San Fung Ave. Once you cross Po Wan Rd, you will find number 54 on your right. You can check on Google maps.
BTW if you want sexy massages (plus other services may be negotiated), then there are some on San Fat Street, entrances numbered 24-26, 28-30 and 32-34. You would have passed them on your route to San Fung Ave. But generally you must make an appointment (phone numbers are on the 141 place), but be aware that they do not speak English! There are also a couple of girls there who provide the 'whole package' without appointments (such as Flats A and the 2/ F at 32-34).
