ShaZui is in Mandarin (Pingying)

The fact that it is written in Traditional Chinese make those people who speak both language (Cantonese and Mandarin) reads it in Cantonese. The whole of China uses Simplified Chinese except for HongKong and Macau. However when comes to Names of Companies and Places, most of the time they will write it in Traditional Chinese. Taiwan uses Traditional Chinese too!

AGNot to be poor mannered or small minded about this but actually I believe you are not correct. Previously someone had made the same point without really checking the facts when they asserted that "咀 is simply the traditional form of 嘴"

The area of Kowloon is written 尖沙咀 while the characters on the streets, police station, hotel, etc. where the girls are located all read 沙嘴.

I know the road signs, looked it up on a map, and checked my dictionary; all indicate 嘴 is a standard character that is no different in simplified or traditional. Also the two characters are similar but not the same (咀 means chew and is also the same in S and T and is primarily pronounced 'ju' in Putonhua). 嘴 is not used for much, but the most common usage is '闭嘴' which means 'shut up', (no offence intended).

Now I dont have any problem with sending newbies to 'shaju' :-) if that was your intention

Sort of a strange question, but what is the taxi fare from either Lo Wu or Shekou (not sure which port of entry is closer) to Shenzhen airport? How long does it take? I guess a bus or train (?) should be alot cheaper but slower, how much cheaper/slower?

Asking the question because I've noticed how much cheaper it is to fly out of Shenzhen rather than HKIA (I'm living in HK) when heading to destinations on the mainland. For example, a RT flight to Shanghai is ~2000HKD from HKIA but less than 1000RMB from Shenzen (can be even cheaper if you're not particular about the time - saw a special fare for <600RMB on Air China leaving at 8am). Ferry from Sheung Wan to Shekou is 110HKD, or about the same as the airport express to HKIA. KCR to Lo Wu is 35HKD - on the KCR website, seems like there's a connector train which gets you close to Shenzen airport?

I suppose that in the end, if you don't care about time, is definitely a whole lot cheaper. There's also the benefit of flying into Hongqiao airport rather than Pudong, about 45min time savings if staying on the Puxi side.

Did a search on "airport" and most of the discussions were the reverse, getting to HKIA from Shenzhen.

You can't beat the airport express for the convenience, it's a nicer airport, better food selection, shopping and is a world class airport. Then there is the issue of not having to fly on a Chinese airline which I always view as an adventure and build in lots of time just in case they are late which they usually are.

Long ago the government of HK changed 尖沙嘴 to 尖沙咀, because the last word was too hard for the general public to write, but since the two words sounded the same and had similar meanings, the HK gov chose the latter to replace the former. I think if you ask most people in HK, they will tell you 咀 in 尖沙咀 means "lips", but in fact it doesn't like you said. I'm not a scholar in this field, but I know for a fact that 尖沙咀 used to be 尖沙嘴, but that was a long time ago.

That is what happen if you want to post something quick, you always makes lots of mistakes.....and now when I re-read what I wrote on my last post, I don't even understand it myself...haha. Aircon bus no. 33 runs from Shenzhen Airport takes you to Lo Wu Train Station West gate for only 35RMB. It stops at 2 others stops before arriving at the West gate. Vice-Versa it will stop at some Hotels along the way. there are total of 6 stop with the Airport as one of the stop. It can be found just outside the departure hall of Shenzhen airport. If you do not have a lot of luggage this a a cheap alternative. There is a bus every 30 mins. You got to buy the tickets from the booth outside the Arrival Hall "B"

The E&E Bus runs from Shenzhen airport to Hong Kong Island WanChai for 150RMB and Kowloong for 130RMB. It also stops at the Huanggang for 100RMB. You buy the tickets inside the departure hall near the Citibank ATM. there is Bus every hour from 8am to 6pm. You can also use the waiting lounge for the E&E on the right side of the terminal beside McDonalds. It has free internet service (with 2 computers) and free wireless from McDonalds.

Never fly from Zhuhai!
1) The stupid airport is too far away from the city
2) It is alway have bad weather and the airport is always closed due to fog.
3) There are not too many flights going and out of Zhuhai.
4) The dam lounges are so bad.....

However, please take note, many characters or combination of characters in written Cantonese or spoke in Cantonese makes no sense in Mandarin or simply no such words.

There is nothing wrong with the SZ airport and, in my experience, most flights in China are on time nowadays. Many Chinese airlines are using brand new aircraft domestically and the inflight service, albeit not the best, is passable. I even find the service to be much better on domestic flights in China than flying internationally with the same Chinese airlines.

I have recently bumped into this site (in fact today!!! here and now!!), firstly i would like to commend all participants for the efforts put in to making ISG so helpful. The Shenzhen section is particularly informative.

I am a newbie to the world of mongering, my limited experience to date being recently in Dubai and Bangkok for which i hope to post some reports in their respective forums in the near future.

I am traveling to Hong Kong between the 23rd May and 3rd June. Also aim on taking an up north trip to Shenzhen for 2 to 3 nights on Monday the 28th to savor and indulge in the delights on offer. Which implies women, the local culinary treats and a few local beers.

My mandarin or Cantonese is pretty much non existent with the exception of a few random swear words, so I am slightly apprehensive. Some assistance from fellow experienced members would be much appreciated. It would be incredibly comforting to ideally meet up with a Mandarin speaking companion or two to run riot with in Shenzhen ( I presume Mandarin is the most spoken language in Shenzhen), alternatively a clueless western tourist like myself is just as welcome ( safety in numbers). Please let me know.

On the presumption that my offer of generosity would be declined and not to be left out to hang and dry, some preparation is certainly needed!!

Basic Preparation
I plan to take a phrase book which contains Mandarin symbols with English translations. Admittedly long winded but a more sophisticated approach the sign language used in Thailand. With my western tongue (restricted to the 26 letters in the alphabet) I am not even going to attempt to learn pinyin (except for basic greetings)

With my phrase book I intend on heading into Lo Wu and staying somewhere near the Shangri-La (as hear this is where all the action is…..?.please clarify). If someone could please direct me to a hotel in this area they recommend which have English speaking staff (who if possible can arrange female companionship for long time) and cost 300rmb or less for a standard room. I know I am asking for much

There are a few hotels in this area I have short listed from www.ctrip.com and intend to ring them ahead of time when I initially reach Hong Kong as I heard it works out cheaper to book in advance On that note, usually when abroad I become wise to the fact it is worthwhile investing in a local pay as u go SIM card for your cell phone. Which is one of the first things I intend on purchasing when I land in Hong Kong, my question is would it work out expensive to use Hong Kong SIM card to call Shenzhen? If so I presume it would be cost effective for me to buy a local SIM in Shenzhen also?

If people can suggest any other alternate locations near by with a good hotel which can serve my purpose, I am always open to ideas.

I beleive the airport bus is around 125 RMB.
It is 20 and the MTR from Lo Wu to Ke Xue Guan 3.

You can take a boat from the HK China Ferry terminal in TST, costs around 170 and takes 1 hour. From the Fu Yong ferry terminal catch a free shuttle bus (another 10 minutes).

There is 1 very important point why I prefer to fly from Shenzhen. I very often carry things that most of the time are not, but may very well be a problem in customs. When crossing into Luo Hu I can at any time chose to return if they don't let me bring the things. Once landed in Shanghai or Beijing I am stuck.
(once they wouldn't let me in with a few Harddrives so I had to retry at another border. Easy here, impossible at the destination)

From what I know, if you want to get from HK to the SZ airport, which is in Bao An, via Shekou, is to take the ferry (HK$115), and hop on the air-con'd bus #355 at the Shekou harbour (walk north out of the ferry terminal, and the bus stops are on the left). They claim to run a bus every 7 minutes and cost is 15RMB or sth like that (get small change ready). But it stops at 36 different stops before it gets to the airport. So you really have to budget a lot of time. The journey is probably 60-75 mins under normal traffic condition, unless you define normal traffic condition in SZ as bumper to bumper.

Taxi is also available at the Shekou harbour but will set you back about 120RMB. There are also tons of freelance drivers but they could be dangerous and they will over-charge you every opportunity they have.

I also found this bus schedule which seems to indicate that there are direct bus services between SZ airport and HK (in Prince Edward, Tsuen Wan, Shatin and Sheung Shui, the later two in the NT). Cost is 110HK and it seems to suggest that you need change a bus at the border crossing. The link is <http://www.51ticket.net/3-shenzhen.htm> and it is in Chinese only. It is in the section titled 深圳香港直通巴士.

I have had mixed feeling about those 1000RMB tickets. They are very inflexible and you have to book way ahead. Maybe I am using a wrong travel agent?

I had the pleasure of staying in Shenzhen for 6 days a couple of weeks ago and the hotel was recommended on this board was the Best Western Felicity Hotel. It is actually across the road from the Shangrila with the railway station in between. I arranged and paid for the room from North America so there was no surprises.

Fast broadband service in the rooms, great food and soft beds.

On the sheeeing & heeeeing side the hotel was very girl friendly and to arrange a girl was easy as walking outside the gate and you will be offered girls by some momasans and have a girls knocking at your door in a few minutes. If the girl was unacceptable , send her away and go and ask for another one. My second was always a lot nicer than the first.

All the recommended hotspots are within walking distance and there is a block of barber shops in the block of stores to the right of the hotel. All the girls I saw there were not really what I liked so I just kept walking after a brief visit.

I also picked up a girl that worked in the Free Zone market which is across the foot bridge and then another 150 yards to a large shopping centre that stays open until midnight. Every store in there has several young girls working , there must be over 1000 working there as as clerks and within an hour I took a pretty young girl back to my room that finished work at 10pm.

The character 咀 has an extended geographical meaning of 'spit', as in a spit of land...probably the same metaphorical relationship exists in Chinese as in English and German.

The characters used in Hong Kong are the traditional characters used by all Chinese-speaking people prior to 1949. After 'Liberation', the Communists decided to simplify the characters to increase literacy (an admirable purpose, achieved to some extent.) All other Chinese-speaking areas (Taiwan, Hong Kong, and all Chinese communities overseas) kept the old characters for several reasons: not wanting to be bothered learning the confusing new ones, and as a social and political statement separating them from the Communists, being the main two.

It's not necessary to speak Cantonese in order to read traditional characters, and 咀 (jui in Cantonese) is not one of these post-1949 simplified characters. You can find it on 19th C maps of Hong Kong.

There are a few hotels in this area I have short listed from www.ctrip.com and intend to ring them ahead of time when I initially reach Hong Kong as I heard it works out cheaper to book in advance On that note, usually when abroad I become wise to the fact it is worthwhile investing in a local pay as u go SIM card for your cell phone. For hotel booking, I often use www.ctrip.com and www.ineedhotel.com
Both seem to have decent prices. For example "Golden Lustre" hotel is priced at about 430 RMB on both websites. www.ctrip.com seems to have a more extensive list of hotels.

www.ineedhotel.com has the JPG of the hotel's address written in Chinese, so you can right-click and save the JPG file to your Laptop; then when you get into a taxi, you show the taxi driver your laptop screen (the JPG photo of the chinese hotel name/address). I suggest you book your Shenzhen hotel 1-3 days in advance, if you can... to be sure to get a room at the hotel you want.


When you're in Hong Kong, you can buy a "2-in-1 Hong Kong & Guangdong" SIM card, at any phone store. It's a SIM card that has both a local Hong Kong phone number (852) and a local Guangdong/Shenzhen phone number (86,131). This way, you can give Hong Kong friends your Hong Kong phone number (852), but when in Shenzhen you give Chinese people your Guangdong/China (131/136) phone number.

I don't remember how much buying the initial SIM card costs... I think it might be something like 150 HKD(?), and it comes with about 30 HKD worth of pre-paid talk/texting minutes that will expire after 30 or 60 days. When walking around Hong Kong or Shenzhen you can buy a 'scratch card' to add minutes to your account as needed (from the many magazine/newspaper vendors, or 7-11 stores, etc). The card is usually serviced by China Mobile or China Unicom when in China.

Since you don't speak Chinese, you're best off to buy the SIM card in Hong Kong. Many people in Hong Kong speak English and can instruct you on your phone service -- such as what number you need to call (when in HK, vs when in China) to 'refill / add' more minutes (you want to be sure to get the ENGLISH recordings/instructions phone number).

Also, in Hong Kong, they might ask if when you're in Shenzhen if you want to be able to call only within Guangdong province vs if you want to be able to make calls to other provinces -- there is a different SIM card used in these 2 situations (one allows intra-province phone calls, the other restricts phone calls to just within Guangdong province).

Also, if you have a need for SMS text-message or Cellular-Internet (WAP) service, you can talk to the Hong Kong sales guys to verify if the SIM card offers those services.

And since my posting is already off-topic (but full of travel tips), I want to say that www.phonescoop.com (phone scoop) is a good resource for looking up the specifications/abilities of most makes/models of mobile phones!

If you stay in China during majority of your trip and use your cell phone often, I recommand that you get a Shenzhouxing from ChinaMobile. Much cheaper by the minute. In fact, no more than approximately 100 meters further down the same street there are several other KTV type establishments which quality is comparable to if not better than Venice KTV.

Shui Du Jiu Dian 水都酒店 (i.e. Water Capital Hotel) boosts a huge Karaoke Club, plus a separate bar area featuring pretty hostesses ready to get you drunk, and a popular Disco.

Right opposite Shui Do Jiu Dian is Xing Hong Ba 星鸿吧 (i.e. Star Disco & Club). Xing Hong Ba is basically a Karaoke Club featuring many private rooms, with many hot talents on offer. This KTV also features an Open Bar Area (Da Ting) if you are just by yourself and do not wish to take up a Private Room.

Shui Du Jiu Dian is well known amongst SZ taxi drivers. It may not be a bad idea to get the taxi driver to take you there first, and then move on to the other hot spots from there!

Yeah, for the newbies and non-Shenzheners who may not know, what OAH has described is pretty much what you can expect if you do the deed in a BBS in Shenzhen. 2 minute BJ, on goes the cap. I love massages, so I get one at least every two weeks. All I can say is the low end of the massages like Chinese style, Thai style, Hong Kong style, usually doesn't come with "extra" services. The higher end however, Korean style, Japanese style, French style, or whatever names they come up with, usually come with "extras". The problem with cantonese is that there is no standard like pinyin in mandarin. They have several transcriptions and each looks different. Main thing is that you pronounce it in a way they understand. Still quite challenging. If you say 'sai' in the wrong tone its nothing better than san or any other word. Even I (I am not Chinese) have difficulties understanding if the tones are not clear (The way many Philipinas or Indonesians speak).

I think every hotel in SZ in girl friendly to a greater or lesser extent. I would be careful of the Shangri-la and others in Lowu at prominent places, they are policed "for show"...

The nicest part of SZ imho is Shekou, the Ming Hua hotels (either the Ship, or the one in the conference center up the hill) are proven girl-friendly, and if you don't make to much fuss, even the respectable Nan Hai is fine (see my post from January.) Further down the price chain, there is a hotel I think called the Fuban (?) about 10 mins walk from Seaworld up Tai Zi Do towards Gong Yuan Do (they advertise outside of The Terrace bar) which a friend of mine has told me is cheap, up to date, and entirely girl friendly. The Hai Tiao, on the bar street, is cheap, shabby, and entirely girl friendly.

Don't worry about this so much. All SZ hotel employees are fitted with special permanent contact lenses which automatically filter out the presence of any female company more than 10 years younger than the person signing in. A little known fact.

Can I pick your brains, SZ mongers? I've RTFFd on the subject of girl-friendly hotels in SZ, but I don't know the geography of the place well enough.

I normally hang out in the HK forums, but I seem to have scored a freebie in SZ, and I'm going up there in a couple of weeks time. I'll be there for two or three nights with the same girl all the time, so I am hoping to find a good-quality and tolerant hotel that will overlook her presence. Also, what are the "nice" parts of SZ? Given that I don't need to be near any "providers" on this trip, I guess I have extra flexibility in choosing a place to stay.

Any advice gratefully received.

Go to Dameisha, beachside resort that is really nice, try the Airland Hotel. Not really sure if it is 100% GF, but I have stayed there twice with no problems and the reception is tucked away in the corner of one of the buildings so no walk of shame.

The Shanghai Hotel is close, but not that close. I assume this is the one over by Huaqiang Lu? If so, this hotel is 4 subway stops from Guo Mao and still have to walk some to reach Seibu.

Some mongers stay at the Golden Luohu or CC Inn which is much closer, both are 2-3 Stars (rooms are nice, but no extras). Also, the Gold Hotel which is 4 Stars, is 380rmb a night w/discount. These 3 hotels are within walking distance of Seibu and the other area behind Seafood Street.

Many of the Sha Tsui girls have shifted over to the Seibu BBS area (as we poor language experts call it). I have done two of them already and was told this by both of them. It has given the area a big boost in terms of quantity, quality and service. There was a crackdown there a few weeks ago, but the BBS seem to have resilience and bounced back quickly. I just hope that it lasts. I reckon it has a better chance since it is located in a primarily commercial area, rather than Sha Tsui, which is primarily residential. I cannot help to believe that when an area starts to have more upscale developments, the residents complain to the authorities.

I was it Sebiu last night and didn't see anyone I like. Most girls are 5-6, and some are just too young for me. I returned back to my Hotel Vienna in Futian and checked out the area around Futain Walmart. There are more bbs and massage place than 3 month ago. It is on the main st. Most BBS in the alley are gone. The quality is better than before. There are 8 BBS with a total 6-10 girls each. I got a Hubei girl, tall and slim Ching Ching who just arrive in Shenzhen one week ago.

I took her back to the hotel. She is a solid 8 and I have never see anyone with that quality in this area before. She only offer condom bj. 150 rmb for ST.

I miss Sha Tsui and I think Sebiu and Futain is nothing near Sha Tsui in term of quanity and quality , but Ching Ching is a rare find. She is KTV material.

I'm not sure if it's possible to RUN to the Luohu Seibu in 15 minutes... It's pretty far. 15 minutes of walking might take you a little past Huaqiang Lu... Maybe if you walk fast, you can get to Diwang in 15 minutes. You might also be confusing the Seibu in Zhongxin Guangchang (AKA JUSCO) with the one in Luohu.

There has never been a time when I was in China that I was NOT able to access this site. That basically means the firewall doesn't block it. The most likely situation is that individual ISPs, or hotels, or net cafes are doing the blocking themselves. When I'm at my apartment, there has never been a time when I couldn't access this site.

There used to be a time when I stayed at the Airland for weeks to months at a time. After a while, the staff started talking about my "activities" because they saw me coming in with new girls every other day. I didn't want anybody knowing too much about what I do, that and the fact I kinda liked one of the receptionists. Anyway, if you want to avoid the staff, you can tell the driver to take you to the parking garage and take the elevator from there.

As a side note, the beach at Xiaomeisha is much nicer than Dameisha. Also, there is a new Sheraton there now which is a much nicer hotel than Airland with its crappy restaurants.

Agreed, you must have the longest legs in China or one helluva sprint. Like Moody said, I doubt you could get to JUSCO/Citic Plaza from the Shanghai Hotel in 15 minutes and that's not even the halfway point.

I have been to the Shanghai Hotel several times, it's a nice hotel (though I think the deco is a little overboard), the restaurant is good, but would have been a much better hotel for the JUSCO BBS's (rest in peace) rather than the Seibu BBS's.

I have walk from Shanghai hotel to jusco before is a good 20 min and I walk fast but it is only one subway stop away is a good mile and a half, Seibu from Lo wu border is about 15 min walk it is easy to find there are a big Seibu sign on top of the Seibu buliding and the bbs is behind the store. If you stay at shanghai hotel go to futain walmart bbs at fuxing rd behind vienna hotel is very near Shanghai hotel, walking form Shanghai hotel to seibu bbs will take forever taxi or take the bus #103 or # 203 will get you there.

I am not sure if the government is doing the blocking , I have try more than 16 internet cafe all over China the last 6 month and 11 are blocked and the other 5 have access , Zhu hai have the most success 2 out of 2 and Hong Kong have no problem at all .

Go to the E&E (E&C?) counter near the exit of the departure hall (I know there is one at the terminal B) and they can offer you a bus from the airport to CP. This is the same bus that goes to Guangzhou and it stops along couple of other towns. They also have a waiting lounge near Macdonalds with Internet connections while you wait. But don't get on ISG while you are there Bill! the counter girl might want to follow you home! :D

Dude, you've posted this message three times and I strongly doubt you're gonna get any answers. I'm not exactly sure where Homeinns is, since I don't know many road names, just landmarks. Hell, I never even knew what road Sha Zui was at and I've been there dozens of times over the years. I'm sure most of the other regulars in SZ are the same. Regardless, you need to show that you've at least taken the time to read some of the forum. Over the years, dozens of KTV names have been posted about. If you ask about a specific KTV, I'm sure you'll have better luck in getting a response.

A possible solution within walking distance (<100 meters) is the Far East Hotel on Shennan Lu. It is situated behind the the BBS area in the same block. Just walk out of the hotel to the right and take a right at the first street (Drug Store on opposite corner). The alleys are on your right about 50-60 meters in. Since most punters enter from the Panglin Hotel side, they never make it through to Shennan Lu on the other side.

Ok, here's the sitch. Shenzhen has only one Luohu. It's like saying Manhattan or Queens when talking about New York City. It's pretty big, but you can get from any point in Luohu to another within 10 minutes in a cab as long as there's no traffic. You mentioned you're looking for top end talent. If money is no object, let me recommend the following places.

Panglin Hotel - You can't miss it, it's the tallest building in the area with a big ball and spike coming out of the top. If you plan to take a girl back with you, it's probably best to show up a bit late, either that or show up early and stay til really really late.

Century Plaza Hotel Class Club - It's behind the Shangri-La. The last time I was there, they had some excellent talent. I would say they were all at least a 6, and I'm a very hard rater.

Golden Times - It's a bit out of the way compared to the other places. This place however, probably has the best talent. A lot of the loaded HK guys hang out there. Girls there will tend to be a little more made up because of that.

Seems to me that the way KTV works in Shenzhen is a little different than other places. In Dongguan, you have talent moving around a lot. In Shenzhen, not so much. The best places tend to stay the best places.

PS. I've never been to Crystal KTV so I can't comment. The Venice is a very small place and it's almost 30 minute cab ride or 20 minutes on the subway to get to from Luohu. The thing with a place like the Venice is that it has very high turnover rate. The last time I was there, they had a LOT of hot girls, but that might not be the case tomorrow. They're taking in a lot of influx from places that got closed over the last year, but how long those girls will stay is always a question mark.

Shanshui Trends is relatively nice, and the staff speak some English. Similar to most 3 and 4 star hotels in China, they have the extremely hard mattresses. They have internet in the rooms, but NO in-room safe! It is just around the corner from the train station area, so no more than 10 minutes walk +/-. As for the happenings around that immediate area, it has been written about dozens if not hundreds of times; and, with the subway right there, the rest of Shenzhen is also pretty accessible. Also, see Moody's post just below, I think the Panglin or Friendship hotels are great locations for our hobbies. Cheers, have a great time.

Yes, excellent stuff! Let me expand on SZ a little.

Shenzhen is a city made up of 6 districts being: Luohu, Futian, Nanshan, Yantian, Longgang and Bo'an. The first 4 districts are part of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), where many foreigners come and go and is pretty safe for wandering around and exploring.

The last two districts are outside the SEZ, meaning you will need to to come and go through a customs checkpoint (many will say they have never have been stopped and not to worry, but I know some foreigners that have so ALWAYS take your passport/visa if going outside the SEZ). These districts are not recommended for anyone who does not speak Chinese and/or experienced with China.

Some will say go to Shekou for action, Shekou is not a district, it is part of Nanshan, down at the very bottom, but is very foreigner friendly and lots of laowai live, work, and party there. Shenzhen is huge in size, so it helps to fully plan out your adventures before getting into a taxi. going from Luohu Train Station to Shekou will take you about an hour and run you about 80 rmb.

If your coming in by train, then you arrive in Luohu.
If you come in by bus, via Huang Gang, then you arrive in Futian.
If you come in by ferry, then you arrive in Nanshan.
If you come in by plane, then you arrive in Bao'an.

Though all districts probably have some good sex areas, most all reports will be from the Luohu, Futian and Shekou portion of Nanshan.

For Mongering Purposes:

Seibu is in Luohu
Concubine Village is in Luohu
Pink Apartments are in Luohu
JUSCO is in Futian
Wal-Mart is in Futian
Juicy/Girl Bars are in Shekou (Nanshan)
You can also find, or used to be able to find, SW's in the mall area where the ship hotel is in Shekou.

I know there's tons more, but hell, I am writing this for free and its off the top of my head.

I think Hualian Dasha is near Jusco, the Zhongxin Guangchang one. I don't think you can book rooms there, since it's not a hotel. Hotels near there would be Grand Hotel behind the SEG Tower, Pavillion Hotel, and a new 5 star place whose name escapes me at the moment near the Diwang Dasha. There's also a bunch of small little hotels around there, but I don't know the names of any.

Like I said, it's better to be safe than sorry.

After being in Nanjing 7 times I am convinced this city has the most attractive, western friendly girls. (I might have also said that after my trips to Shanghai and Beijing). Below is my report to accompany the photos in the China Photo Gallery (Shenzhen Days 1, 2 and 3).

1. > Travel to Shenzhen from Hong Kong and Visa Process

You want to get on to the KCR line and buy a ticket to Lo Wu. You will likely be transferring to the KCR line from one of the MTR subway stations. I connected at TST station, and the ticket from there to Lo Wu was about 33 Hong Kong dollars.

The ride is about 45 minutes from TST to Lo Wu. The train cars are air conditioned and have TV’s that you can watch to pass the time.

When you arrive you will first have to fill out a card and pass through HK customs for departure, and then go upstairs to the Visa office before entering China. You aren’t actually entering China. Your visa is only good for the Special Economic Zone of Shenzhen. And although you buy a 5 day visa, it is only good for one entry. So unless you plan on spending the night here, expect to pay the 150 HKD each time you visit.

The employees at the Visa office move at a communist pace. So relax and expect to spend about 30 minutes there. It is also best to have a passport with more than 6 months until expiry. I didn’t have problems with mine (4 months from expiry at the time), but I didn’t like the uncertainty.

I figure that this place costs 40 yuan less than the traditional 128 yuan places because they shift the cost of the worker to the worker's tips. This is just my theory, I don't know if this is for sure.

Other interesting tidbits: she serves 80-90 customers a month (seems on the low side). Her salary is 1000 RMB, her total commission ranges 3000-4000 a month, which is on top of her salary. When she first started, she was freaked out by customers asking for handjobs, but she gradually became accustomed to it. Refuses to work in BBS though the massage girls are recruited big time by the mamas as she does not want to cross that line.

decided to make a trip to sha zui for myself to see whether it had really become a shadow of its former glory.

got to the village and the sky started thundering and rain started cascading down into the village. it was surely a sign of ominous things to come.

" previous bbss were gated up. another telling sign: the colored light bulb at the top of each store that use to shine bright red or bright blue, but now was lucky at all just to be turned on. through the windows of some places, i could barely make out a sign advertising a massage.

i could imagine the previous glory of sha zui with each shop open and girls upon girls waiting for eager customers, but now had become just a shell of its former self.

Most of us go to the Pink apartment for the HJ. They give a great HJ and very cheap. The standard 1 hour massage with oil HJ is 40rmb with no tip required. There has been torrential seasonal rain in Southern China in the past few days. I just arrived Shenzhen for business last night and I went to check out girls around Seibu. Behind Seibu, there is a larger alleyway (with baracade so cars can't pass through) which branches off to smaller alleyways. The smaller alleyways are around the width of 1 car, fairly dark. But the "shops" are lit quite well. There are about 7 of these smaller alleyways that you can do a zigzag through (if you use the tiny dark passage ways between each alley). In total there are approximately 30-40 of these shops, and each one has anywhere from 1-10 girls inside. Once you pick your girl, you can either:

A) let her bring you upstairs for a quickie ($150 all inclusive)

B) bring her back to your hotel for one shot (if it's really close, then $150, if not, travel fee may apply)

C) bring her back to hotel for overnight ($500 + travel fee)

Travel fee I usually give $50.

BTW, all prices quoted above is RMB, but I just used the $ sign for simplicity.

Later on at night, the big road which Seibu is on will have many girls standing around available for pickup as well. However, the quality isn't as good there I found. These girls show up around 11pm-12am at night.

The only thing to watch out for are police raids in that area. However, there isn't much they can do unless they catch you in action. I also highly recommend you bring girl back to hotel for security and cleaniness. Those apartments aren't exactly clean, especially knowing you're probably the millionth guy going through that bedsheet.

Another thing to watch out for are the mamasans. They can be helpful, but they also pull your arm (forcefully) and ask you to choose a girl in their shop. Just be sure you choose what you want and not get pressured. I took my time and it pays off. Just walk along those 7 alleyways several times and take note on ones you see that catch your eyes.

Once you pick out your girl, just talk to the mamasan and you are on your way. BTW for overnight, you typically pay the mamasan the $500 up front to her. The best part about the location of these girls is that there are many places in the neighborhood for body / foot massages as well as great food to eat. It's also right in Lohu so you don't need to travel far off to Sha Wan. The feel is very similar to a smaller version of what Sha Jui used to be like.

I took the opportunity to do a little field research, and I hope the members here find my results helpful.

I was heading up to SZ last Friday night and decided at the last minute to detour over to Sha Tsui. I wasn’t expecting much, but I thought it had been a while since there was an update on the area. Things have improved there, but not by much. It is still down to only about 20% of its peak in October 2006.

I entered the village from the back (south-eastern) side. It seems that most of the shops nearer the front entrance (north-western side) have been permanently shut, but there is still action to be had toward the back. The last time I was there about 2 months ago, it was quite dodgy, with no lights in the alleys and lots of rent-a-cops about. This time there were more lights on, but still no pink and blues. Where before there were few girls out in the open, now there are actually several shops operating, with girls sitting around watching TV. The rent-a-cops are still there, but it seems that the locals just ignore them. Still, not a comfortable situation.

I ended up spending my whole evening there, just like old times! I had originally planned a panSZ field trip to Jusco, Seibu, and Hui Bei as well as Sha Tsui, but it’s hard to leave when the girls are so friendly. I ended up taking 4 cuties individually for 150RMB each. I still think the ST rooms there are the best in SZ.

One important warning; while there I did get the scare of my life from the real cops. These are the guys in the real uniforms and fatigues, not just the blue polyester and running shoes. Shenzhen is a much larger city than Tangxia there are cheap hotel all over town 3 star start at 180 rmb and up and mongering is more expensive than small town like Tangxia or Changping .

If you are new in town I recommend you go walk around the Lo hu , Futain and shoukou area visit some bbs and get the mamasan business card and make some contact or ask the bell boy at your hotel for help , I think it is better for you to go out and hunt for your own to pick the girl you like and bring them back to the hotel .

Well, near Huanggang is the Grand Holiday Hotel. It's pretty reasonable at around 400+RMB a night. In Luohu, there's a lot of choices. I'm not sure how cheap you want to go, but the Greanleaf Hotel is under 300RMB a night I believe.

Well, near Huanggang is the Grand Holiday Hotel. It's pretty reasonable at around 400+RMB a night. In Luohu, there's a lot of choices. I'm not sure how cheap you want to go, but the Greanleaf Hotel is under 300RMB a night I believe.

Grand Holiday is a great hotel by local standards. The last time OAH booked me in was 418RMB, the rooms are approx. 17Sqm with enough room of a full size Work table. I was also booked into a Junior suite once and the price was a reasonable 548RMB. It has 2 rooms, a guest lounge with a 42' LCD TV (which I had not use!) and a bedroom. with a 10Sqm Bathroom... That is good enough for you to drop your first load!!!

However it is still to the international standard of a 4 stars hotel yet.

Most important....infor of all: It is GF friendly. Although they would ask you to register your guest after 11pm, most of the time I just walk in with a girl in my hand and totally ignore the security guard at the Elevator.

And most important of all!!! Las Vegas KTV is in this Hotel! If you bring the girls back from Las Vegas.... it is sooooo... easy...

I was also booked into a Junior suite once and the price was a reasonable 548RMB. It has 2 rooms, a guest lounge with a 42' LCD TV (which I had not use!) and a bedroom. with a 10Sqm Bathroom... That is good enough for you to drop your first load!!!

However it is still to the international standard of a 4 stars hotel yet.

I also suggest the Grand Holiday (0755-61389999). It is 5 minutes by taxi from Huangguang. PM me if you want me to book it for you at the corporate rate, but I also think their internet rate is about the same. Another option is the Vienna Hotel where the cheapest rooms are around 230RMB. The Futian Walmart BBS area is also 5 minutes by taxi from Grand Holiday and walking distance from Vienna where take-out and delivery is available. Just go by once to look at the talent and collect some numbers from the mamas for future delivery and you are all set-up. I have been doing business with many of the mamas there for years.

In Luohu, there is a hotel about 100 meters past the Shangri-la hotel on the same side of the road within walking distance from the train station. I'm surprised that you would want to go so far away when you're basically already in the center of all the action. The name of the place is partially covered by the coupon but I think the last 4 characters reads: 休闲会所, That means Sauna or Club house and the 休闲 usually means those with Extra Service.

However looking at the prices on the back of the flyer.... doesn't suggests or tally with those prices they would charge for Extra Services.

The other part of the flyer does not suggest any form of extra services as well.

I don't agree that HK Gal are nt as good looking as China chinese gals. We have to compare apples to apples. There are a lot more China Chinese gals than HK gals. I avoided going to any building to see the wares so all of them brought down to street level for checking purposes. Funny you mention this! I was sitting in the Shangri-La Hotel the other night (acting like a guest, but stealing their a/c air) and I watched the bouncers this hotel uses to prevent WG's. During my 30-45 min "cooling" period, I saw these guys stop 4 girls; 1 was legit, the other 3 not. What was interesting though was one of these 3 xiaojies was actually dressed very nice and could have passed for someone's wife, what got her was her shoes!! Is dressing the only way to identify a Xiaojie from a legit girl?

While sitting at lobby bars in hotels looking at those girls walking in and out, I sometimes wonder who are the Pros and who are not. Example in CP, we know that most of them walking in are Pros but there are some that are legit, looking at them some of them just falls into the "grey areas" where we just could'nt tell. Besides; those KTV girls usually dress nicely.

For me I sometime use my nose and instinct to judge. If she uses strong perfume, it is likely that she is a pro.

I believe there was a discussion on this couple of weeks ago but the answers was not clear.
