The landlord was (and maybe still is) asking crazy rentals (600K HKD pm).

Yes, I noticed this too. The last few line-ups I've had have been a dismal choice (no choice at all, really) with K-Pressure-standard older and larger girls... not 37D's usual quality at all. I too find that service is slipping - less DFK, no anal at all - and some of the girls would be happy to just soap you in the shower for 40 minutes without doing any real work.

Time to start looking for a new place, I think!

This is not entirely true. The Octopus card is fully refundable AFTER 90 days. Otherwise you will lose 50HKD.

This policy was changed once all the mainland Chinese tourists started flooding into Hong Kong. Smart for the Octopus people.The Octopus site FAQ http://www.Octopus.com.hk still says that the deposit is refundable at any time.

This is not entirely true. The Octopus card is fully refundable AFTER 90 days. Otherwise you will lose 50HKD.

This policy was changed once all the mainland Chinese tourists started flooding into Hong Kong. Smart for the Octopus people.

Still it is a good value and very convenient to use the Octopus. Keep the card as a souvenir and use it on your next trip to Hong Kong. Most convenience stores and fast food outlets accept the Octopus card too.

There are some special tourist packages including airport express tickets and single or 3day unlimited travel transportation cards available. It is still hard to spend HKD55 on the MTR in any one day so the tourist cards are not that cheap.

I stayed at the Metropark Hotel (Mongkok) recently and one of the Prince Edward MTR exits was right across the street. Are the Yellow Signs near the hotel?Yes. Walk from the Hotel towards the MTR station, crossing at the traffic light there. Instead of bearing right towards the station, continue straight up the street ahead of you. There are two about 2/3'rds of the way down the street, the first one being better. There is also one back down the same street prior to crossing, by the money changer, though they are suspicious of gwei's and the women are a bit older.

Yeah, stay at the Wharney GDH Hotel on Lockert Rd. You are no more than 1/2 block from the hottest spots in WanChai. Very clean, great rates (book on their site internet approx $5. 600 HK) GF friendly. Location, location, location. You will thank me.

Thank you so much.Hi, you have a number of options close to your hotel.

Kp is almost walking distance, if the humidity is not too bad. This and 37D is really what you make of it. I was at KP last month and had a great time.

There are a couple of Sauna's very close; Noble (do a search here) 2-3 mins walk, and another I think called the Executive something; top floor of what looks like a tall parking building, with restaurants on the ground floor and karaoke rooms on the ground and first. They advertise along the side of the building. Its good quality, and the massage was very good. I'd recommend the Noble Sauna, tho.

There is a bar opposite the Inter Con; small place with a band, quite a few PI's hanging out there. Spend a few hours chatting to a bunch of them. In front of Sticky Fingers just along Moody Road has some street walkers late-ish. The bars along the front, overlooking the bay are fun in that you can have a beer and listen to some good (and bad) bands. One is an all girl PI/Thai band, good fun. Two suggestions: 141 Hotel Reservations. These have been a bit more reliable in my experience. Sometimes a bait and switch ensues, but you can always walk away, and most are typically in decent hotel rooms in TST.

Additionally, across the street from your hotel is a open plaza type area where I've always been approached by SW. I've never experienced, but some of them were decent looking. If you have any local friends, there are a ton of KTV's that surround this plaza and almost all of them offer take out service.

Hi, I have posted this question on the Zhuhai board.

A friend and I are flying into Hong Kong Airport and I know that there is a ferry service that will take us from the Hong Kong airport into Zhuhai but just not sure where to go to purchase the tickets or to catch the ferry.

Aafter we leave the HK airport customs, do we just go to the center of the airport where they sell tickets for the trains to purchase the ticket for the Ferry?

Or is there a bus that we would need to take in order to get to the ferry terminal?

I have found the time that the ferry leaves to Zhuhai but can not find how to purchase tickets or how to get to the ferry terminal from the HK airport.

I have used this terminal coming from Macau..there is a check-in service at Macau ferry terminal. Your luggage just goes through to your final destination.

There is a fery service to Zhuhai at the moment only twice a day in each direction. Hong Kong Airport to Zhuhai 11:15 am and 17:00pm Zhuhai to Hong Kong Airport 9:30 am and 15:30pm.

Hope this helps, as previous information you have to book in at least an hour befre departure if you have lugage to be sent on by the ferry, I use them all the time and have never had a problem in either direction.

After reading this forum for several years, and enjoying my trip to Asia much more because of it, I finally decided to post my Hong Kong experiences. In the last 3 years I have spend 7 weekends in Hong Kong during business trips. I'm going back this fall and looking forward to it. I have tried the call girls services and found the experienced okay, but rushed and impersonal. I like to have a few drinks, survey the crowd, and make my pick. There is no better place for this than Wanchai. For me walking into Wanchai bars is a testosterone rush. Where else can you go and have your pick of so many beautiful women. Usually there are three girls for everyone guy so it can be a buyer's market. Here is my review of some of the bars:

Neptune 2. Hard to beat with the great selection of Thai and Philippino women. You will also find stunning Vietnam girls (very hard and all business, would not recommend), African girls (never tried), and Columbian girls (never tried, not very friendly). I have picked girls up for the night or spent the whole weekend with them. I have had some great GFE with Thai girls from Neptune 2. Action usually starts around 10:00 pm and goes until after 4:00 am. I normally arrive in HK around 11:30 pm, check in the hotel, and good straight to Neptune 2.

Laguna. Good for Philippino and Indonesian domestic helpers on Saturday and Sundays from 4:00 to 9:00 pm. Most of the domestic helpers leave by 9:00 pm because they have curfews. After 9:00 pm you get a mix of working girls, but not the selection of Neptune 2. Some these girls will go with you ST after a few drinks and dancing with no discussion of money. Other will ask for money and will go with you for ST for 300-500 HK$. Last time I was in Laguna on Sunday afternoon I took home a very enthusiastic Indonesian girl. This girl wanted laid and made some much noise I was afraid hotel security would be knocking on the door. Whenever I'm in Hong Kong I do not miss going to Laguna around 5:00 pm on Sunday.

Summary – Wanchai is a great place to pick up pick up beautiful women. You have to be careful to not over pay. I pay 1, 500 HK$ LT for attractive girls. Some girls will ask a lot more. My advice is to move on unless you really have to have it. My best experience has been with girls who do not talk about money until the next morning or until after a few drinks. Treat these girls well and you will have a great time. In general, girls that give you a price in the first two minutes are looking to flip customers and the service will be poor or rushed. Be careful of girls who want money in advance. Usually this means bad service or they will try to leave early. 1 October is the National Day holiday.

The Mainland makes a bit of a week of it, but it is only a one day public holiday here in HK.

Lots of Mainland tourists come to HK in that week, but it doesn't really affect things. HK can cope with large influxes of tourists fairly easily, without even bending at the seams.

Can't comment on Macau.

Cheers.I tried the one in Fuji in Wanchai and can promise she isn't Japanese, in fact she didn't even look Japanese when I got there. You can distinctly tell the accented English between the various countries around this region and I would say that with her Mandarin accented sounds she was/is probably Taiwanese because it wasn't a local accent and it wasn't mainland.

I have a thing for Japanese women and have been pretty disappointed in Hong Kong at the lack of opportunities. Appears like V & C are readily available over the counter from any pharmacy in Hong Kong.

About 3 weeks ago, purchased 4 tabs of V from pharmacy around back of Holiday Inn Golden Mile, somewhere around Cameron & Camarvon. Cost ~ 400 HKD

I have an upcoming family vacation where I'll be in Hong Kong for about a week or so, and must admit that this site is awesome.

I've learned a lot but wanted to make sure that I understood everything, and had a small question here or there.

It seems that Wan Chai is the place to go to meet non-Chinese/HK WGs. It kicks off at about 10 o'clock and never looks back. In particular the best places to visit seem to be Neptune 2, Traffic Laguna, and Bridge if it's really late (or early, I guess). Taking the girls to an hourly hotel will run me 500HKD. 1500HKD ST. Couple of question heres, do the Russians usually only hang out at Traffic? And prior to 10 o'clock (as I'm looking to be at a hotel with one of the girls at this time) it seems that Laguna is empty, Neptune 2 is starting to fill and the same with Traffic. Is the 9 o'clock hour really that bad for picking up girls? This seems to be a pretty good value as you get to spend more time with the girl, but the services can vary.

Many places will do this to you if you are a gweilo and not a regular customer as they figure we are all off the boat and have yellow fever.

While it has been months since I have been to 37D, and was never much of a regular, going maybe once every three or four months. I would always send the first line up away and ask if they had any better looking girls. The second line up would always be considerable better looking and younger.

Saunas and pink/yellow signs places generally are the same if you are a gweilo and not a regular. At pink/yellow sign places you can send the girl away, although english communication with the staff working the place can be a challenge at times, and a pleasure at others. Saunas are a little more difficult to send girls away.

I recommend man169.com which now is partially in English, but is simple enough to use even in Chinese as it is google map based and the girls are usually numbered not named. 1. Since it looks like Air Asia has a flight from BKK to HK early Monday Nov. 2 and returning on Friday....I was thinking of flying then..however, maybe it'd be better to fly Tuesday morning and return on Saturday..

A regular visitor to HK, done and loved Hari's, been to Sticky Fingers, Trafffik, Neptune etc. Share everyone's disappointment that Fenwicks is no more. Issue with the land lord and their liquor license.

Went twice to the sauna on level B3 in the Regal Kowloon hotel (Kobe Sauna) and had very good experiences each visit. I should add: I am not used to HK saunas, this was my first visit to HK and so have no basis for comparison with similar establishments.

I agree with Michi. Everything in HK is at least 2-3 times more expensive than BKK. A 4-star HK hotel will be over $100 USD, bottle of beer $7 USD, and freelancer from Wanchai can be $130 for ST. In BKK, ST with a freelancer is about $30!

Wanchai is a good area to stay though. It's very tourist friendly and convenient. Most importantly, that's where the red light district is! Don't expect it to be like Soi Cowboy or Pattaya though. Unlike during the Vietnam War and prior, the red light area is only a small part of Wanchai.

Bad and good experience in the last few hours, in HK.

Tonite I made all the newbie mistakes in Wan Chai, so I had a bad experience.
Mistake 1: Went to Wan Chai very late (2.30 am), and made my choice too late (5.30 am);

Not having been to Rio so not sure how they operate, but at places like Supreme (I haven't been in a while) the only difference is saving the cost of the ferry tickets and everything else was as if you were a normal walkin customer. Thing with buying a package is asking the right questions. Some places give you the choice of the gal before you leave Hong Kong by picking one out of a photo album.

As for billing, some places will give you an official reciept with something vague written on it like "travel" or "hotel package" and you might be able to claim for it.

Yes, what you write is true, but it's still the case that if you're certain you want to go to a sauna in Macau then you should take one of the ferry terminal deals. You may or may not have to pay upgrades, but it will still work out cheaper, believe me.

For me, I'm not really a sauna person. I've been a few times, but I can never be sure I'll fancy it beforehand, therefore I never take them. If you are sure, snap them up.

long lurker first time posting. just got back from hk and wanted to contribute a little to the place that helped me so much.

From an average Hong Kong Chinese mongers point of view there is a hierachy or ranking of value of different nationalities with ranging from Japanese, Caucasians and local Hong Kong gals near the top and Thais and Philppinos near the bottom. On the 141 websites you can tell quite easily.

From memory, when I used a hotel service that used to be very famous and run by referral basis only Elaine's, Japanese were charged at a HK$200 premium to Korean gals. Whether they were real Koreans or not, I don't know.

I believe most of the business going on in them is covered by expense accounts. I have only been in them myself when doing business with the Japanese.

Boracay had no one and I did not bother with either Dreams II or the place that used to be Strawberry.

It got me thinking back as recently as 2 or 3 years if you went early there were usually a few girls at the places. New Makati used to make some of their girls show up at 6:30 if they were going to be working there that night. One would think there is a business model for a place to be open and have girls for guys to pull after work. I mean saunas are busiest right after work. You look at Bangkok and Manila and they have some places starting to open as early as somewhere between 2 to 4 in the afternoon. Why do none of the discos bother to do this here? They can get all sorts of guys out to a disco on a Sunday afternoon because there are girls so how hard could it be after work. Heck there were even small number of guys in the various discos drinking and just waiting for girls to arrive - if they had girls there I am sure they would be much busier.

I know there are many other options in the early evening from saunas to 141's to yellow signs to KTVs but sometimes I want to grab someone who had reasonable english to screw and is not someone whose number I have.

I got home from Hong Kong last night and I'm still depressed.

In fact one of my fave things to do, is to scout around and pic something I like and exchange mobile numbers. I have a HK sim card I slip into my cell on arrival which means I can give me number out freely without being concerned I will get calls at 5am when I get home. Don't think wife would see the funny side.

Giving out my mobile number the night before also has other benefits. I can chat and get to know her a little, talk price, discuss the service etc. It also means I can call her in the late afternoon the following day if I want an early start.

Several times I have set up a 7pm get together, say 2 hrs, then I can go out afterwards and drink as much as I want. Even take the girl with me and buy her a few drinks, no pressure, no drama. A few times I have been offered a special deal on a double header or even a comp service doing this.

See for my other posts for my other adventures but it's worth noting that I did go to Jordan Sauna in Mongkok after trying and failing to find 37 Dundas.

Place is surprisingly nice inside. You ride up a private elevator to the lobby. You check in and lock your stuff up in a locker with the key being on a bracelet. You get towel and shower yourself in common shower room type thing (or you can use the sauna if you want) and then you get shorts and bathrobe and slippers and get shown to room with a girl. No line-up was offered to me.

It was a Thursday afternoon and I was the only customer at the time.

The rooms are dark with black-painted walls which is creepy. The girl was cute, not stunning, and very perky considering the locale. I paid for the 90 minute session. It is several steps away from Amazonia and between Laguna and Neptune II. It is semi luxury, GF friendly and without doubt the best location in Wanchai. Happy Hunting.

Are you referring to the clubs in Wanchai such as Traffic and Neptune? If so, yes they are open over Xmas, although I don't know about Christmas night, they're certainly open every other night. (They may well be open Xmas night, it's just I can't say for sure).

The Cosmo is a fine hotel and is also GF. However, I usually stay at the Empire in Wanchai.. It's a proper 4 star hotel and the rooms are reliable, it's very close to all the action and the price is v reasonalbe, around 60 EUROS/night.

Re: navy schedule. I don't know about that. Wish I did.

Okay. Happened again.

Was in Laguna several weeks back. Bought a ladies drink. Women behind the bar would not give the girl a chit or money. Swore I wouldn't go back.

It's really a long shot to call the Wharney even semi-luxury but it is certainly comfortable enough although the rooms are Hong Kong smallish.

It is in the center of the action, location is great but in my opinion too good. I prefer slightly further away as I like to take the girl LT. If you are in the middle of the action, your prize for the night may decide to leave early and double down on her earnings.

There are several hotels within a 15 minute walk of Wanchai entertainment area, less than HK$20 for a taxi.

If you look hard enough, you may be able to get the Wharney (alternate name *****ny) for around 400HKD but at Christmas time (any holiday or during exhibitions) expect prices to be much more expensive.

Unfortunately, I deleted the one photo I had of the girl but I guess she deserves a report.

On Friday, after spending all day in Macau, and being a bit exhausted.- and falling in the MTR but that's another story.- I went to Sticky Fingers on Mody Road near my hotel. And there's another slightly plump Chinese girl that wears a nice red dress who I almost took.

And there was Tina (see my report in the photo gallery). In fact, after choosing Tina, we walked past the red dress girl arm-in-arm only to have her and Tina get into a mini-argument.

So this Friday, I was lazy and let myself get ripped off a tiny bit.

So HK$1200 (US$150? ) for that experience? Was it worth it? Well, I got to live out a fantasy that I probably will never live out in an Asian MP in the States, so it was okay. I probably wouldn't repeat but it was a nice memory.

It's really a long shot to call the Wharney even semi-luxury but it is certainly comfortable enough although the rooms are Hong Kong smallish.

It is in the center of the action, location is great but in my opinion too good. I prefer slightly further away as I like to take the girl LT. If you are in the middle of the action, your prize for the night may decide to leave early and double down on her earnings.

There are several hotels within a 15 minute walk of Wanchai entertainment area, less than HK$20 for a taxi.

If you look hard enough, you may be able to get the Wharney (alternate name *****ny) for around 400HKD but at Christmas time (any holiday or during exhibitions) expect prices to be much more expensive.

South Pacific Hotel on Morrison Hill Rd (near Happy Valley. Talk about a perfect name LOL) is OK, rooms are comfortable but smallish, no problem to bring girls in with you, no problem for them to come up to your room on their own.

HK$600 'ish /nite except during the bigger fairs. I have had a suite several times for HK$1K which is great!

7/11 store 2 mins walk should you need supplies. Min Fare HK$18 cab ride from Jaffe or Lockhart.

Less than 10 mins walk to Times Square.

Here is my 2 cents worth: I went to Laguna last weekend, I already had a few so my judgment was affected. I bought a drink and started chatting with this waitress I know, after couple of minutes she says "will you buy me a drink"? I had an overnight in HK. With a bit of time to spare and a nice evening, I decided to check out the local 141 scene a bit. I typically stay on HK island, this hop stop I was in Tsim Sha Tsui, close to the China ferry bld. I searched over the 141 site to find a good selection at Hankow apts, just a few blocks over.

I had a bit of a strange initial experience. I don't much like the street touts trying to sell copy watches, suits, and such. I'd just arrived at the right address and some Indian looking fellow with wild hair walked in behind me. He chatted a bit as I hit the elevator button. I told him repeatedly I was not interested in what he was selling. I got in the elevator and to my surprise, so did he. Up to the 6th floor and he stepped out after me. Ok. This is getting strange. I figured he was going to press his way into a few bucks one way or another.

I rang miss Coco's bell and just as she opened the door, Mr strange started to barge in talking in Cantonese. Ah ha. I see the angle. He was selling his services as my guide for the evening, asking miss Coco for 200. I stepped in and shut the door behind me. You could see the little creep in the video camera standing at the door. After a few minutes he actually rang the bell again. Pissed me off. I stepped out and asked him to translate one more item. Beat it. And he left.

Anyway. On to Coco. She looks like the photos on the website. A few years older my guess. I'd say she's 30ish, perhaps more. Still a great body. Enhanced boobs and that flat Chinese butt. Good hairy muff. Anyway, she seemed nice enough, invited me into the shower and off we went.

Miss Coco. If she didn't rush things and would have offered something other than BBJ to covered Mission, I'd be a more frequent visitor to this establishment. Another nit. If you're much over 6', you'll likely find the confines of their little rooms a bit tight.

Looks. 7. Likely a bit nicer when the photos on the website were taken 5-10 years back Service. 5. Basic service Attitude. 5. A bit too rushed for my taste Convenience. 9. You just have to be able to read a map a little and 141 is right around every corner in HK.

Okay, so I finally arrived in Hong Kong and decided to head for Wan Chai. I almost regret it. Headed to Laguna at about 9:30 PM where I met this Filipino in her own little black dress. Simply amazing! There was no other way to describe it.

We danced for a bit and then the question of a lady drink came up. No longer thinking with my big head anymore, I agreed. 80 HKD down the drain (including tip for the waitress). She was served something with whipped cream on top the looked kind of weird, but I don't know any better. Anyway, it seemed that she was working at the bar and kept trying to pawn me off on one of her friends (not my type. A bit overweight).

At one point she encouraged me to try the drink, funny looking into those eyes of hers, the warning bells of taking something from somebody else in a foreign bar in a foreign country, just weren't going off. It didn't taste like just whipped cream. Anyway, I asked her about leaving and she told me that her manager wouldn't let her leave yet.

I go to China often and have experienced the high end KTV scene in shanghai, zhuhai and also in macau.

I've been to some lower end places in mong kok. I wandered into a club in tst called club bboss or something like that. Very gaudy and totally empty.

My question for you guys is. Are there any nice places on Hong Kong side with quality girls? Would prefer someone where takeout is guaranteed. I've heard of some wanchai places but don't know the names or locations.

HK$1,000 might be nothing to some but pissing away what she probably makes in 2-3 days lowers you in her eyes immeasureably. Added to this the race thing - she's probably Chinese/Nepalese (with ID/permit) and the lady-drinks are for Filipinas (14-day visitors).

I have also seen a Sri Lankan waiter treat a slightly drunk Undersecretary in the Ministry of Finance in Oman with absolute contempt several times in an evening of playing pool, drinking and old boys' networking.

there could be many reasons for this. she could be a newbie and trying to get comfortable with the scene. she could be waiting for a special friend. or she could be on the rag, or maybe she was one of these girls that prefer making money on drinks instead and not entertaining the idea of going out. or she could be under the direction of her manager. you can try calling her to see if you can get a late afternoon tryst.

the next time you are in laguna and if you see something you like, before you buy any drinks, ask her whether she is only there for drinks or whether she goes out. if she goes out, then strike a deal, and take her out then and there, to a normal bar like spicy fingers for example or the bars around the right corner from laguna, where its quieter and enjoy yourself and away from her friends and there are no ladies drinks. what you save in ladies drinks you can add to her tip it the end.

as for your speedy feeling, did you at any time in the evening leave your drink unattended? it could be a combination of things or the heat.

In the first instance, it was a girl who worked behind the bar at the opposite side of where I was sitting, and as you know, it can be crowded and in the light would be impossible to see across the bar. The second woman didn't work either bar but was a waitress, hence wouldn't have been involved in either set of drinks. Additionally, I saw both ladies getting passed their chits during the first encounters with them.

I think what you're telling me is you think I'm a putz for spending a grand on drinks, which is fine. As they say, opinions are like atssholes. Everyone's got one.

I always just take the Airport Express, then a taxi, especially if I have heavy bags with me. I do think though there's a bus shuttle that stops right at the hotel as I've taken it on my way back to the airport, but it takes a lot longer I think about 1.5 hours. I've never taken this bus from the airport to the hotel I'm afraid so i can't tell you where to pick it up.

Can anyone tell me the best way to travel from the HK airport to the Empire hotel Wanchai taking into consideration both the hassle factor and also prices? It looks like there is an MRT station closeby maybe?

I will be arrivng at 20:15 P.M. on a Sunday if that makes any difference.

Make sure you have exact change or else buy an octopus card upon arrival which you can use whilst in Hong Kong for lots of things including 7-11, starbucks etc and of course all the public transport - one of the best and most convenient card in the whole world IMHO.

Get off at stop #9 which is Luard road on Hennessy road - and you're a block or so away from the Empire hotel and will take you less than 80 minutes depending on traffic.

I think you are talking about the Sands Sauna, diagonally opposite the Jordan MTR station. It's another alternative for K Pressure and 37 Dundas plus it has the additional massage session for those who like a massage and FS.
The setup reminded me of those in Macau but smaller scale due to the expensive land price/rent in HK. I went there yesterday evening and there were not that many people. See for my other posts for my other adventures but it's worth noting that I did go to Jordan Sauna in Mongkok after trying and failing to find 37 Dundas.

Place is surprisingly nice inside. You ride up a private elevator to the lobby. You check in and lock your stuff up in a locker with the key being on a bracelet. You get towel and shower yourself in common shower room type thing (or you can use the sauna if you want) and then you get shorts and bathrobe and slippers and get shown to room with a girl. No line-up was offered to me.

It was a Thursday afternoon and I was the only customer at the time.

The rooms are dark with black-painted walls which is creepy. The girl was cute, not stunning, and very perky considering the locale. I paid for the 90 minute session. Fantastic massage and then energetic CBJ and very energetic CFS. Just great. The setting made me think I wasn't going to be able to perform or enjoy the session, but I did!

My grand total for the 90 minute adventure was HK$725 which was only because I overtipped when offered the tip jar near the lockers. Still, that's less than US$100 and was worth it surely.

Quickest and middle price way to get to Empire is Airport express $100 then taxi direct to hotel $30. Forget the free shuttle to all the hotels and waiting for others to get on and off the bus. A11 bus would be good but you could easily miss the right stop, I enjoy sitting on the top deck and taking in the view.
No time to waste on a Sunday when you have Wanchai humming with maids on their day off, busiest time is 5-6pm and a good chance of a freebie.
Empire is an excellent hotel choice. Have fun.

Just did this trip, and if it has not been said enough..... Lockart Road is one of the last stops for the Airport Bus. Not the way to go. Take Airport Express Train to Hong Kong Station (Aprox $170HK roundtrip and 22 minutes) short cab ride to Lockart and Hennesy. You'll be in the action in no time.

Last time that I visited HK, I recall seeing a number of market traders down in the vicinity of Temple Street who specialised in the sale of sex toys etc. Anyone bought from any of these stalls and can give any info on quality, prices etc?

As you come out of the MTR nearest Golden Shopping Center turn left along the road that runs along the Center. After a few doors you will see to your left more computer shops inside an old building. Lots of locals don't tip at all. But what it could be is, as I understand it, that this system of paying the girls a commission on the lady drinks is not legal. So the bars try to keep it very low key. The male customers are not supposed to know. If they tell the customers, they are often ejected. One time I was with a newbie in Neptune and had purchased a few drinks for her. When I was about to leave I asked if she had gotten her commission coupons. She had not and did not know how the system worked. I explained it to her and then asked the waiter for her chit. He got very angry and started yelling at her in Tagalog. Another waiter brought her the cash, and asked her to leave.

I had always known that this system was supposed to be kept secret from the male customers but had not realized how angry they get when the trust is violated. And, to show how serious it is, I am quite sure that the paying of these commissions was one of the reasons given for closing Fenwick (the other being cocain).

So I would suggest that if the girl you are with is not getting them, you have her ask the waitress discreety and in Tagalog or Bahasa, which ever works for them and the watress, to explain the system. Since my first run in this has always worked.

Yes, there are a handful of stalls at night market that do sell sex toys. The price, compared to stores in TST East or some shopping centers, is 1/2 to 1/3 (50% to 65% off). You just have to negotiate over the price. For example, a Wonder Bullet that sells for US$12-15 at stores can be bought for US$5.

As far as quality, it is a hit or miss. I have bought some stuff 2 years ago that still work and I have bought a few things that had stopped working after a month or two. I have a feeling that the majority of items are rejects from original production line or just a cheap imitations.

On a recent overnight in HKG, I stayed at the Dorsett Seaview. Can't say anything good about the hotel, but below the hotel is the Regency Sauna. After a long flight, a sauna sounded like a good idea. Like all saunas, undressed, put things in locker, showered, then led into a relax room and offered a drink. After about 5 mins. Night market runs between Jordan road in the south and and Man Ming lane in the north and it is divided into 3 parts. The south part is on the Temple street between Jordan road and and Kansu street and the setup is in the middle of the street. The one stall that sells uniforms is in this area on the left hand side as you walk north. The middle part is only one block and it runs between Kansu street and Public Square street on the eastern side walk and here is that you will see one stall that sells all sorts of panties and 5-6 stalls that sell sex toys. The north section is 3 blocks and it is on the Temple street between Public Square street Man Ming lane and here all I've seen is nick-nacks and once in a while porn DVDs.

I usually take the MTR to Yau Ma Tai and take exit C which is on Man Ming Lane and then walk down the night market and eat at the seafood place toward the end (English menu and they speak English too) and get back on MTR at Jordan.

I got hassled at Sticky Fingers because it was after 10: 30 and was sitting at a table outside. Apparently they've got to pull the tables in at that time, and being that it was about 10: 50pm the bouncer was damn near on fire to get the table I was sitting at inside. He didn't even want to give me 30 seconds to gather the crapola I had spread out on the table together so I could move to another one. He damn near picked me up by the collar and and threw me out onto the street, and I swear I wasn't doing anything other than chatting with a girl and drinking.

Then last night, I got 86'ed from Neptune for writing in my journal at the bar. I keep a pretty good record of my adventures, so once in a while I'll make notes in my journal while I am out and about. Apparently Neptune management finds this highly offensive, so out I went onto the street. Who knows why? Maybe they were afraid that I was going to write something negative about them in an international online forum.

Neptune had an interesting selection of WGs, but I've got to say my first trip to Wan Chai is going to be my last. The guys watching the door are just a pain in the ass to deal with, and given the other options available in HK and elsewhere in Asia, the cost of the girls and the variety, I'll be spending my entertainment dollar somewhere else. At certain times, non-caucasians will get in but will have to 'pay the cover charge' which at some bars may be 200HKD to enter.

At times when US Navy is in town, the cover charge is enforced for the non-local people but local and regulars are let in for free. It's not fair but if you don't like it go elsewhere.

Even inside of the bars, non-caucasians will have more difficulty with the local service providers, all else being equal.

This is one of the expat locales in Hong Kong, perhaps the best known location. There are other parts of Hong Kong where the discrimination goes the other direction.

My personal experience with Wanchai bouncers as an Asian-American has been positive. Some of the doorman are even friendly, including those at Neptune and Laguna. Of all my years of visiting Wanchai, the only place I was asked to pay a "membership fee" was Fenwicks. All the while, white customers walked straight in without any hassle. Regardless, I don't blame doormen for such actions. They are only carrying out orders from management or owners.

quick beginner's guide. i have just arrived in hk for my first time so will report on all my activities.

I thought I'd check out the Wan Chai bars in the early evening so as to be prepared for the evening's activities. I spotted most of the ones I had heard about. I saw a typically Thai bar on the corner of one street (forget the name but I'll edit this post tomorrow), and had a quick look inside. I was immediately dragged in by 4 very forceful youngish ladies (one was strong enough to be a ladyboy...). My personal experience with Wanchai bouncers as an Asian-American has been positive. Some of the doorman are even friendly, including those at Neptune and Laguna. Of all my years of visiting Wanchai, the only place I was asked to pay a "membership fee" was Fenwicks. All the while, white customers walked straight in without any hassle. Regardless, I don't blame doormen for such actions. They are only carrying out orders from management or owners.I would say that is DEFINITELY true if you are non-white attempting to walk in. (speaking as a dark skinned spanish guy, I've been told quite a number of times in no uncertain means, to get the fu*k away and NEVER come back).

However if I'm with my local friends or with a obvious white chap, there evil looks are there, but they won't start the same arguments.

Coming out of the place I realised that there were several similar establishments around. Diagonally opposite the X-road there is a 'hotel' with 6 floors of MPs, with a short entrance alley showing all the beautifully photoshopped girls.

As I was there a quite attractive girl came in and waited for the lift. I asked her where she worked and she said the 6th floor. She also gave me a quick low-down on prices. Although I couldn't really follow, the prices ended around $700, and P4P being what it is, that is probably the minimum price you would end up paying.

I have her name and I'm tempted to go back this evening.

There was another place in the opposite direction with a sign on the door listing the prices for different nationalities - I'm sure I've seen that sign on the internet. I went into check prices, and they all seemed a little higher than on the door, and for maximum 30 minutes. Too short for me.

Agree 100% with APAC Man. If you had Chinese skill you could try your luck in any of the other places but there is still no guarantee that you would have a good experience. There used to be at the peak 400 Yellow Sign brothels in Mong Kok.

Even being Chinese, you can have a shitty time. I went to a 141 address to find it was closed and tried a YS downstairs. Has a great time with the gal but when it came time to pay, the price was inflated from the $300 on the sign below to $360. Was told it was for "happy hour" and they had a small sign with fine print on the back door that actually said that. I too wonder why 37 Dundas and K Pressure get so much of a write up here. Sure as a result of this forum they are more used to gweilos than some of the other places in the Jordan to Prince Edward corridor but I have never been given any problems over the years about being a gweilo at any of the many places I have been and I don't speak any Chinese.

the most daunting aspect is actually walking into an unknown building and up those narrow steps that first time, but i've always had them open the door and let me on in. they want you in and out of site as quickly as they can.

the places are rep001tered mostly around mongkok and prince edward. in mongkok, there are many to the west of nathan road a couple streets over. there are some to the east of nathan road as well. in prince edward, they are to the west of nathan road from the mtr station and across the street from the metropole as well; to the east of nathan road is the police headquarters so probably not a great place to try.

So:

Look on www.******.com website and you will see a whole bunch of beautiful ladies. They will look nothing like their photoshopped photos, but then you know that already. [ OK, that's s e x with 141 after it. ]

With a bit of fiddling you can find girls who work in one place, and it's perhaps worth noting the names and prices of those girls. Some can speak a very little English, and it's worth noting those too. The ratings are presumably self-awarded, so you can ignore. some have phone numbers, and I called 3 girls with supposed English, and one answered. Her English was limited though. I made an appointment (as in 'see you in 15 minutes'), but I needn't have bothered.

Go to the address, and they are easy to find. Walk up the stairwell, (and these are not big blocks of flats with hundreds of people as I had imagined). You will know if you are on the right stairwell :) so no danger of disturbing a Hong Kong family during their dinner, again as I had been concerned about.

Actually I got the wrong stairwell first, and did just that :(, so if it is not very obvious then you are in the wrong place. The girls have CCTV so they know you are coming.

I was staggered at the cost of drinks there having bought one round of 3 drinks for $180... The girls would get a voucher for $50 with each drink (and I know this has been mentioned on this forum already). I didn't see it happen with me, but perhaps the staff remember well. Anyway, the Shrimp said that some evenings she was bought so many drinks that she didn't need to work.

I'm amazed by the variation in price of a beer between seemingly identical bars. One will charge $25 - 35 for a large Tiger, while Bar 109 charges $55 for a bottle of beer. Two of those is an expensive night out for me...

Nothing scientific here, just some food for thought:

I'm sure the foreign travelers have explored Wan Chai and LKF extensively.
I'd like to recommend a place with a little bit more local flavor - Knutsford Terrace in TST. You can get there easily by getting off at the TST MTR.

It's a very small and quiet bar street, where foreign customers aren't as common as LKF or Wan Chai. I find the local girls here do not gravitate toward foreigners like they do in LKF, but are still very friendly and approachable in a traditional sense. They do look at foreigners with a certain kind of curiously, unlike the girls at LKF who've enjoyed one too many. This is the perfect place to meet local girls if you're going to be situated in Hong Kong for awhile.

For dates, or just an easy night with buddies, there is a water-pipe (we call it Hookah in the US) bar situated on the street. The atmosphere is much more enjoyable than other places I've been to on Hong Kong Island.

Info is much appreciated.All you have to do to find a good tailor in Hong Kong is to walk 10 meters out from your hotel and I guarantee you that you will have many gentlemen telling you "we make shirt, we make suit, we make vest, trouser, come see my shop, have a look". Also their colleagues will offer you "copy watch, copy bag", etc., etc. It really helps if you have a camera hung around your neck while walking around. They will spot you immediately and you will have more new "best friends" than you can shake a stick at.

Now if they were only offering what most all of us here are looking for!

The way the places work in Mong Kok, the gals are not exclusive to 1 place and if you know the gals name you can go to another YS place down the road and can get the same gal delivered. And from my experinece in Mong Kong, almost all the gals are trained to give good service.

If you start comparing what you get charged for in Neptunes, you can get laid for a month in Shenzhen or by Streetwalkers at the Temple Street markets for what guys report for what they spend on 1 ST gal and hotel in Neptunes but they are 2 different situations all together. And if you think the beer is expensive there, how do you justify P4P from there. Tried an old recommendation of Undercoverh, the GCC at 310 Portland. Reported a few months ago about Noble Sauna at the basement of Peninsula Center (Kowloon side). Very good service however the price was $1200 hk, service was for 1 1/2 hours.

Have a local freind who took me to a sauna called Queenie Court Sauna located on Jordan Road, Kowloon, he has been there many times and if you go after 10:00 the cost is only $600. When you get taken for a sucker, it doesn't matter for how much. The way the places work in Mong Kok, the gals are not exclusive to 1 place and if you know the gals name you can go to another YS place down the road and can get the same gal delivered. I used to go to Neptune a lot as I used to regularly drink in Wanchai and that is where my buddies like to go when it gets late. Novotel is within walking distance of the action in Wanchai, whereas the Charterhouse is a short cab ride away.

The Novotel's rooms are slightly better.

King's is a notoriously bad bar/club, and not because of the ladies drinks (there are, for info, different priced ladies drinks. They offer the highest priced ones as a matter of course but you can tell them you want the $140 ones). I went in to Kings several years ago. Was having a nice time until one of the girls who thought I was being well distracted snuck her hand into my pocket and lifted a $1, 000 from me. I clearly saw it. I asked for it back, she pretended that nothing happened. I asked Mama-san who was sitting right there. She said nothing happened. I made a stink and she said. Go call the cops. They came, said they couldn't do anything, said they would escort me to the bank to get more money to pay my bill. I mean, WTF. I stay regularly at the Charterhouse - absolutely no problem there.
Come out of the hotel, turn left and after 10 mins walk you are in the middle of Wanchai. A taxi back is around $HK20.
There are also the Cosmo and Cosmopolitan Hotels round the corner facing the racecourse - again no problem with bringing a friend back and they may just be slightly better hotels than the Charterhouse but there is nothing in it. Can't wait for my 2-week next trip in November. Hope Fenwicks will be open - its the best!

I stayed in Novotel last trip and I liked it a lot. I had no problem with girls. They have a second entrance on Jaffe which is where cabs drop you off. It is right next to the elevators, so you don't have to walk across the lobby with your toys. Not that I think that would matter. I did have fun the last time with a very conservative couple sharing the elevator with a Vietnamese stunner on my arm that didn't look a day over 18.

I was excited about visiting HK once again. I have been coming about twice a year since 2007 and can definitely say this is one of the best destinations for mongering. HK is one of those places that even if you do not RTFF or arrive unprepared, it should not be a problem provided you are willing to explore. I usually stay in Kowloon (Tsim Shat Sui or Mong Kok) so have no idea about Wanchai.

My first night I'd booked myself to stay at the Langham Place in Mong Kok on my inbound journey for the night. The hotel itself is amazing and definitely five star however the surroundings are poor. Mong Kok is not the nicest part of HK but hotel is in a good mongering location. Checked in and had a shower and went to the adjacent mall to grab a bite to eat. Then I moved to the nearby 37D, the directions are which are freely available on ISG if you look properly.

Arrived at 37D and made my way to the first floor. For those who want to know, 37D is below an hourly hotel connected to the 37D. Language was initially a problem but I gathered they do have non-Chinese customers as another lady turned up speaking reasonable English. I was informed of the charges and introduced a line up. Declined what was on offer and another three women turned up. Picked the one who made most eye contact who was late 20's lady, not very slim but the better looking of the lot.

Was led to the hotel room upstairs where the charges were extra (didn't know about this). Okay room, slightly hot and cramped but ok for the deed. There was a shower in the room so that was the first stop and was given a rather thorough clean up. So I call up a hotel reservation on 141 website. I picked a girl named Fiona, called and the operator told me to go to Regal Hotel in Kowloon, at the East Tsim Sha Tsui. I came right away after calling. Went up to the room, and knocked on the door several times. Waited for about 8 mins, at the front door. On a recent overnight in HKG, I stayed at the Dorsett Seaview. Can't say anything good about the hotel, but below the hotel is the Regency Sauna. After a long flight, a sauna sounded like a good idea. Like all saunas, undressed, put things in locker, showered, then led into a relax room and offered a drink. After about 5 mins. Led to a dark room with massage table and a rather attractive 25 year old. No line-up was offered. After 45 minutes of a really good massage, full service was offered for HK$600 total. So I had problems finding 37D for the longest time. If I had been able to access it, then I would not have settled for such bad 141 service. I was wondering, based on what was written it describes the following:

37 Dundas is between Nathan Road and Portland Street. If you turn onto Dundas from Nathan it is on your right, on your left if you turn on Dundas from Portland. Look for the yellow sign hanging above the street. It says $390. Below the sign is a sidewalk. Follow the sidewalk just a few steps and you are there.

But even with these instructions it was hard for me to navigate around all the messy signs that are displayed all over the streets. HK can be rather confusing at times. I looked like some dumb tourist lost and confused. Anyone shed some light if I was on the right track? Still couldn't see it.
