I am no expert on this subject, but I would like to give a report of my experience with DH Sunday, the 2nd to last day on my 2011 Asia trip. Give it to someone more deserving and who is willing to defend its better ideals.

CheersThere are two things that ruin a bar for me: really loud music that prevents me from conversing with a girl, and poor lighting. I need to get a good look at the girls. Some Wanchai bars are just too damn dark. If I can't see good, I am going to walk and not even buy a drink. You would think the bar managers would be aware of this. What are they trying to hide?

That being said, I don't think it is fair to go on and specify so many details about her on a forum. If she wants everyone to know, she should be the one that posts.

One of the girls was indeed from a velvet curtain bar, but the other was from one of the discos.
They never located the disco girl, but tracked the velvet curtain girl down through credit card receipts.

The one a block and a bit up, where you walk up the stairs, is Victoria.
Victoria has recenlty been renovated (although is still a short time fuck palace) , but Victoria is more expensive that Beverly, and both are more expensive that Ming. Ming is far and away the most grotty (but sometimes that added sleaze factor can enhance the experience for some mongers).

Coffee / tea / bottled water supplied daily. All free. Free WI Fi. Comfortable big king size bed. Stayed there last November. No complaints whatsoever. I have always thought that Hong Kong would be a great town to live in for a year or so. Great restaurants, interesting people, all the conveniences of a great modern city, plus it is close to Macau, CP, AC and even BKK if you get bored and need a fast getaway for a few days to a week. As a guide, and to help you on your way, don't pay more than HK$1000 for LT for any of the WG you get in the Wan Chai bars. You can get ST for about $600. You may need to bargain, however and it depends on the time of night you are making your pitch. Freebies are available on a Saturday / Sunday from the DH on their day out in New Makati. A tip of $500 will go down well with them. Don't go near the GO Go bars on the main Lockhart Road (the curtained doors with the girls and mamasans sitting outside). You can get ripped off in there.
The 141 places advertise their costs and generally what you see is what you pay.
Don't know much about billiards etc. This is not Dubai.

It can be trickier bringing a girl into a serviced apartment. You have to register and show your I'd. Actually this applies for anyone. Depends on security. It is sometimes tougher than a 5 star hotel.

I gave you a bum steer as I used booking. Com for my next visit in March, not lastminute. Com as I said. It's all down to timing as to when you get the best deal but $1200 a night seems very expensive to me. Again, it also depends on what is going on in HK at the time you want to visit. I think that the hotel only has about 44 rooms so it is always going to be busy at these prices. Hope everything goes OK for you

The timing you need depends on different variables. What time is her curfew? How far away does she live? How far is your hotel? Do you need 1 or 2 hours short time?

Spend a few days after Christmas in HK and enjoyed some action from pick ups of WGs in Wanchai.
I had two in particular. One was a Thai-Laos gal with great figure which came to my hotel for overnight action and We agreed HKD1500 for all-in. She did everything I wanted and was great service. I work with one colleague from the Philippines who hasn't been home in 8 years, saying it's cheaper to just keep sending US $1,00 a month over there.

Just came back from a trip to HK. Checked out Wan Chai and ended up getting quite hammered which of course isn't the best idea. Or are they all pretty much mixed?From my experience of frequenting Wan Chai bars, you are unlilely to meet Chinese WG's there. Some have actually told me they are banned in some of the bars. If this is a must for you, then I suggest you look at hotel reservation girls but get them to come to your hotel. I have reported on this in the past and it has never failed me because I make it clear to the pimp that usually answers the phone and with whom you make the arrangments, that if there is a switch I reserve the right to reject them. Unless of course she is "acceptable". Down side was they don't speak English. I have met some stunners however.
Absolutely no problem with the girls you bring back to Kowloon from Wanchai. A return taxi fare will resolve any potential problem in that area.
There are also some SW's in Mody Road that might be of interest to you and if you fancy some scrubbers then there is the Temple Street market, but you will need to speak some Chinese.

Same is also often imposed on locals (non-western locals) and youngsters. WanChai bars business model is about catering to white guys and many of the bars impose cover charges for others. One can debate back and forth about the validity of this business model, and we can b_itch about it too, but it aint going to make any difference. It is what it is.

Basically the Wan Chai bars are all the same. Try Neptune 11, Neptune 111, Escape, Borocay, New Makati.
Insider (the old Laguna) , Traffic and Forrest are there as well but IMHO not so good, but you never know. Amazonia might pay off as well. Joe Bananas has a few Thais.
Avoid the GoGo bars (the curtained doors on the main Lockhart Road) like the plague.

Are there any real substantive differences between the Wanchai bars? Or are they all more or less the same?I think the atmosphere and quality of the bars varies a lot. Over the years, my favorite Wanchai bar has consistently been Neptune's 2. A good mix of girls show up there. The sexiest appear to me to be Thai and Viets although there are plenty of Filipinas and Indonesian girls too. I like the lighting in this bar. You can see everything clearly. Some bars are a lot darker which I do not like. The music is not bad and not too loud permitting some conversation. Bottom line, I always seem to find what I am looking for here. That said, there is stiff competition in Wanchai. Other bars of note are Escape, Laguna, Neptune's 3, New Makati, Boracay, the bar above Joe Bananas, traffik I think, Typhoon, and more. I tend to get some of these bars mixed up, but never Escape (the former Fenwicks), and the Neptune bars.
Also as many have written, DH Sunday afternoon is another matter all together. Last time I was there on a Sunday I just followed some girls up a flight of stairs to, I think it was Traffik or maybe Forrest. I won't be sure on that until I get back to HKG to definitively make note. It was a pretty nice bar in any case.
BTW, I am going to be back in Wanchai in 6 short days to kick off my 2012 South East Asia winter trip. I am flying Continental 20 hours from West Palm Beach Airport, change planes in Newark and then on to HKG. I am going to arrive this Saturday at 8:30pm. My plan is to walk into Neptune's 2 a little after 10pm and have a sexy girl in my bed by 11:30. I am only going to spend 2 nights in Hong Kong on this leg of my trip before heading off to Macau, PI and Los, but I will return at the end of my trip in late March and spend my last 5 nights here. While anything is possible, the likelihood of a gold nugget there seems pretty slim from what I saw in March and October there. But if you like older (in their 30's) WG's that might be your place. Not much to pick from, anyhow. Sticky Fingers will have Filipina's and some Thai's in it, but not really a lot. Best thing about it is the music, IMO. Lots of expats go just for the tunes, not mongering. On the other hand, since mostly nobody is buying, the girls that do show up won't get tagged quickly, so you have some time to decide. Hahaha.
I've walked around at night in TST and the SW's are not limited to Mody's though that may have a higher concentration. Nathan also has them out and about. I have not tasted from that font, myself.

WGThere is also a Victoria in Tin Hau basically across the street from the MTR entrance that itself is across the street from the east side of Victoria Park. It's not exactly CWB but depending on where you are in CWB it should be easier to get there and back than getting to the one on Lockhart Road.
Again depending on where you are in CWB there is a Mingle on Wan Chai Road not far from that fresh market area which is on the other side of the overpass from Times Square. If you walk briskly it's close to most of CWB.

I didn't take much stock in it but later was approached by a couple girls (assume they were from the Phils) in that vicinity (Percival St.) who wanted me to grab a cab with them to Wan Chai. It was about 2 a. M, possible quitting time at a KTV. At the time I was too knackered and didn't particularly want to spring the bill for their night on the town. If anyone knows of such setups in CB, and would be interested in arranging a Dongguan-esque party, if indeed such a thing is possible, PM me.

There are few in Causeway Bay. Don't know the addresses. Mixture of girls from different Asian nationalities. Take away is available. But as boarer says can be expensive.
And usually these places are 95% full of Asian Guys which may not be your scene.

What is a Dongguan-Esque party?KTV to the extreme. Girls drink and play games, just like hkg or korea, but in DG, it can get significantly wilder. Less clothes (possibly none at some point). BJs in the room, sometimes more.
