So Saturday night I went out around 9 pm. Figured some DH's would be around and the bars were definitely more full. Checked out all the usual places, all within short walking distance. New Makati was hopping with Indos, they have a very distinct look, not really my cup of tea. Didn't buy a drink in there but it was hopping. Taboo seems to be a happening spot with cheaper ladies drinks, mixture of Pinays, Thai, Indo. Live band. Definitely worth checking out. I saw the Thai girl I banged a few nights earlier LOL. Lots of bars with FLs.
Neptune III was the hot spot with pinays. At least 2 dozen girls. I was accosted by a 30's big titted DH from Manila and her friend. Lots of drink sharks. At 160 HKD a pop you are talking $20 US per drink. 100 goes to the girl according to the DH. Bought her a drink out of pity and scoped out a hot pinay, slightly chubby but beautiful face, smiling a lot whenever I looked at her. Ditched the DH and started talking to her. She was 25 and on "holiday visa" from Manila. Sweet as can be and fun, like many pinays. After a few drinks her friend came by who was also pretty cute so I lost my mind and bought them both drinks. Still cheaper than the US by miles. Bar 109 had about 20 not so good looking girls who I would generally charge to fuck if I was at home LOL. Neptune 3 was hopping with pinay DHs, some decent looking but the DHs are generally not very hot. New Makati wanted $500 HKD to enter. Are you fucking kidding me? All the bars and the streets had DHs. I had a gyro near Taboo and checked out the scene for a bit. I suspect you would have to work pretty hard to find a cutie, and they would run you at least 1500-2000 HKD with no guarantees of performance. And you KNOW when girls are wearing clothes they are hiding a lot of stuff. Was not even tempted, especially considering the trip to AC the next morning. All in all I would say that HK is pretty good compared to the US but if you find yourself in HK and have a few days, you can fly to Thailand or the Phils for around 200 bucks. Not a mongering destination obviously, but not terrible as it is all legal and plenty of fish. I considered going to Macau for a day but damn that is a lot of work for pussy, especially with the reported decline. I figured Macau would cost at least $500 USD per day--again not worth it with an AC trip coming up. I have to say I was tempted by the Russian ladies in sex 141 (the russian girls seem to all have videos on the site) but I can get those eastern euro ladies in the FKKs with much less risk and the performance is generally very good. Off to AC!

I think it adds to the forum if people truthfully write price paid for services paid in Wanchai bars. What Smoky wrote is fairly much on the mark for price in Wanchai. Better that people's experiences err on the side of a bit higher than lower.

Is Chungking Mansion the better place to exchange usd to hkd? An american expat I met in my trip in HK told me to avoid Chungking Mansion at all cost for everything. A lot of scam and rip off.
The price of 800 to 1000 LT in Wanchai bars is from around 5 to 10 years ago. Even if you shopped around for ST, and stayed in WCH, you may get 800 if you are lucky -1000 is the magical figure for negotiations. Even DH's are asking for 1500 or 2000 on a Sunday. Think we have to be careful in discussing prices because local residents will always get a better price because they can be a regular, compared to a business traveller type who is in HK occasionally.
So when a local resident posts this is the correct price in a WCH bar, it is not necessarily correct in all circumstances. I can assure you that ladies know all gents who visit Wanchai bars. They quickly sniff out if you are a visitor.

Thank you.I would stay away from Chungking Mansions, it's a backpacker hole for many from the sub continent. The exchange rate is 7. 8 local dollars to the US Dollar, that is the official fixed rate for the last 25 years or so, it varies a little bit around the traps, but unless you are changing a large amount it will not cost / save you much.

I find the exchange rates in these to be among the best you can get although it pays to shop around them as the rate varies. The exchange rate is always better than I can get at home so I bring cash with me but the downside is carrying a lot of cash whilst travelling. Just need to be careful! There are good rates to be had in Chungking Mansion but again, take care.

There are literally hundreds of small kiosk money exchange places throughout Hong Kong.I find banks give the most competitive rates, better than my Citibank ATM. Stop at any HSBC branch.

At least, HSBC has stopped (unless you have an account there), so I've had to go to the exchange kiosks. I've found the rates are okay and you don't have to wait in line as long.

From my opinion, the extra $500 I payed was well worth it. I am by no means a stud, but had a few sessions before falling asleep in the arms of a pretty young girl and woke up to an unsolicited BJ before having a cup of coffee. So why are there so many complaints about prices in the range I paid?
I am aware of the cheaper options, walk up girls can be had for a third of the cost, but there is the factor of having to deal with all of these men roaming the hallways, the hot tiny rooms, unknown chemistry (big factor here) and quick service. One shot and it is over, no cuddling after. All very business. Also as mentioned below, there are the cheaper options of Temple street, but that can also be hit an miss.
Bottom line, HKG may not be the cheapest place to monger in Asia, but it is a good place with a good variety of women and reasonable prices for what you get. Negotiation, as in every place is a must, but in the end, Wan Chai remains a cool place to visit, chat up with some hot girls, find some chemistry with one of them and have fun with her back in your room.

As per Tiger's comments, visitors drive up local prices. You can't help people who don't want to be helped. They are the ones who keep Tho Cook and Am ex is business.
FWIW, I think many locals hunt in Wanchai. You are 95% sure the girl you meet is available for P4 P and at much lower rates than H Clin t on. Though, think it only fair to always pay, even over protests.

Went to Kama Spa on Wyndom (Spelling? I had read some great reports, but think my expectations were too high. Plus points, no haggling, straight flat price of 700 for 60 minutes and 900 for 90 minutes, and they did not cut time short, and no tip is expected or asked for. Another plus, you will get an amazing massage! I had a girl named Demi, and she was cute and fit, probably 30-35, but always hard to judge. She really dug in to my muscles. She pressed pretty hard for the room upgrade and didn't begin to listen about the style of massage I wanted. I almost walked out early.
After leaving I sent the manager / owner a message and told her of my concerns and she apologized profusely. She asked me to give them another try and promised a better outcome. It is expensive, but if it a good experience the extra money might be worth it.
I am still trying to find a little bit of an upscale location with extras. I'm getting a little tired of tiny little rooms and the smell of [CodeWord109] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord109) in the corridors. I expect to pay more, which is fine if the product is worth it.

FWIW, I went to a RX Pharmacy right next door to my hotel (Lockhart and Stewart), and they gave something called "EURO VAGA", apparently a Hong Kong generic rather than the Indian ones I'm used too.
Not too excited about putting something new in my body, but we'll see how it works.

Sorry, I don't know the exact exchange rate of the US $ to HGD. I was trying to make sense of the figures given by WorldHop.FX primer. I have never used HGD, so I for one do not know.
1. Just pick your home currency.
2. Figure out how many unites of the foreign currency you can buy with one unit of your home currency.
3. Round up so you can do a quick mental math without referring to a currency app or calculator. On trips I know I will pay more but I don't want to get raped so I work with orders of magnitude.
4. If you cannot handle 2 digit mental math, go to one digit.
HKD/HK$ are the same.
I my case.
1. USD.
2. USD$1 = HKD$7.75452 current interbank rate. Fees range from 0. 25% on up.
3. Use US$1=HK$7. 75.
4. Use US$1=HK$8.
I want my US$1 to buy as many HK$ as I can at the Forex when I cash in to buy HKD/HK$. But I want the HK$ to buy as many US$ as I can at the Forex when cashing out.
Useful numbers to memorize.
HK$100 = US$12.89.
HK$300 = US$38.68.
HK$500 = US$64.46.
HK$1000 = US$128.92.
Don't get HK$1,000 notes. Most places not accept. Stick with $100 and avoid $50.
Once you memorize the ball park numbers, you know when you are taken to the cleaners, even after several beers.
Currencies are quoted in different manners but it is just a matter of simple math to work back to the examples above. Either 1/100,1/1000 or 1/x. On long trips, I just clip the SCMP/IHT exchange rate table and put in my wallet for ball park figures.
In HK, some forex exchanges charge a commission plus give bad rates. IMHO, I would just go to Wordwide House and use Franki Exchange. Those types of companies will not be around for long.
As Chantik said, ATM/credit cards are best if your Bank does not charge a foreign exchange fee or ATM fee. Take out only what you need so you don't waste a round trip fee. Many Banks/ATM cards offer nofee ATM and Credit Card charges but things are constantly changing. I have had surprises because of changes. Also, some Banks say no foreign exchange fee but have a bad foreign exchange rate; they don't give you InterBank rates. Again, only way is to test. Try and check what posts to the account.
If carrying US currency, get new $100. Many older bills not accepted if suspect serial numbers. Use newer bills for whichever currency you bring.

The government has rejected a suggestion from a lawmaker that a legal red light district could be set up in Hong Kong.
Undersecretary for Security John Lee Ka-chiu was responding to a proposal from accounting sector lawmaker and Professsional Commons member Kenneth Leung during a meeting of the Legislative Council's security panel.
Leung said the city might take reference from other countries which allowed the establishments of red light districts to centralise prostitution activities.
His proposal was put forward during a panel discussion on ways to combat illegal prostitution.
Lee said the prostitution problem in the city was under control. He said the establishment of a red light district would involve major changes in government policy on the issue and comprehensive public consultations would be needed, and he therefore did not see the need to set up such a district.

Thursday night looked a busy night as the usual spots at Churchills, Mysties and Old Vic were mobbed. Could not be bothered too much for Sunday evening entertainment but went to Neptune 111 for a beer about 11.00 pm. You could count the number of girls on the one hand. Dead. My "elegant" girls from Saturday were there as well but looking anything but elegant tonight. Torn denim short shorts etc. Night and day! I had to go back to my hotel to meet someone but it was quite clear the girl I was with would have come along for $1500 all night. My recommendation is that this is a great place for fun, especially if you are alone with a few hours to burn.

Interesting night last night. Despite the pouring rain I ventured out just after 11.00 pm. Streets quiet and even the main street bars looked quieter. Headed for Neptune 111. All but empty but met Jan and Channell and had a good bit of banter with them. They will not be returning to HK as they found it difficult to make money. No wonder at their asking price of $3000!
Managed to avoid buying them a drink, despite being asked. Headed back to Mysties and whilst having a beer at the bar I was approached by "Shane" who asked if she could join me. No problem. Nice girl, chatty without going over the top. Bought her a couple of drinks as she passed my test by not asking for one first. Subject got round to the usual and she wanted $2500. No way but we continued to chat away. She was then joined by a 22 year old friend. Shane then asked if I was interested in the two of them for $2000 all in. Tempting as it was, I declined. Telling her I had difficulty dealing with one, never mind two. She laughed.
Miss A from Insiders then came in but took my involvement with the other girls well. That's life.
Left about 2. 00 am on my own.
As I write this (3. 00 pm), Shane is texting me to invite me out for lunch! Pity I have just eaten but let's see what develops later.
Could be my last report as I am heading off to New Zealand for business tomorrow.

For your reference, Mysties, Taboo, Flame and the new bar occupying Boracay are under same management. For quotes I tell them what I normally pay and its up to them if they wish to come along. Sometimes I win and sometimes they win.

Agree about the drinks and I generally order the smaller tequilas at $80/$85. I remember being caught out last year when I left 2 girls to order whilst I went to the toilet and came back to $360 bill. On another occasion in Escape the girl asked for wine and just before the bottle was opened I asked how much. $1000. The bottle went back. Must admit when they say "up to you" I start at $1000 and surprisingly, it is more often accepted than not. As you say, win some, lose others.

My post never stated Escape was quiet. It was Ok for numbers. It stated there seemed to be more gents than ladies. Other times there are more ladies than gents. I probably go to escape once every three months and it seems to be doing OK.
A couple of hotels ask for ladies to register. Go to an apartment building and you must show your ID. Wanchai is a real hit or miss for a pretty high price. Dundus is more certain. The walk ups are a little less. I guess the rare gem like JTL found is what keeps drawing people back. Aside from standing in dark corners, they are also walking around on Lockhart road on the same side of the street as Mysties. As for how to tell, I think it is getting harder, especially with post op gals. This is a big problem in Thailand. Many are really petite and start early with hormone treatment so they basically look like a girl except they have the junk down there. I heard that the junk can be duck taped or tucked so one cannot see / tell. Take a look at the LB beauty contests. There are quite a few tiny ones in Wanchai.
I always take great liberties with my hands. Nothing like checking out the merchandise with an initial examination. No drinks required, at least in Asia. IMHO, it is a market after all. If they don't let me, there is probably a reason, with which I don't have the time to explore. I reported on this awhile ago and things have not changed too much as far as I can tell. Get to Wanchai early. As early as say 11 am. Head to Players or Bar 109 and it will be rockin. If they take the almost 200 HK $ double shot set without asking they are out of my focus immediately. I no like sharks. Prices for take out asked are 1500 but will drop to 1000 immediately. Was in HK from 6th to 9th Jan sry for the late FR, but here goes.

.A previous poster mentioned two or three of the popular websites, which offer English versions. Miss 148 dotcom worked; the other is a dodgy link. So hit that website and you will see a few buildings, including a couple on the same major street as the Eaton, at 717 Nathan Rd. , 561 Nathan (south of Dundas); in Mong Kok there's 311 Portland and the King Hing Building (just Google it). There's plenty on the web, and on this forum, about the general procedure. You figure out which floors have the providers and it will be pretty apparent that the trade is being plied. (Christmas lights around the doorways, etc.) Apparently it is uncouth to knock, and there are various methods to indicate that the WG is otherwise indisposed.
I have not been to these places, but they are just a few of many. (I am loath to present myself as an expert on 141's; I worked for a year and lived about two blocks from the Fuji Building in Causeway Bay and never tried it. Regrets, I've got a few.) As warned over and over here, the photos you see on the web may or may not be the actual provider, or may be heavily photoshopped. At any rate, if you're willing to hoof it around, there are all sorts of places, say on Portland Street, and then there's the Temple Street Market. It's all walkable. Good luck.

When you will walk up the stairs in these building, you will understand which door you have to ring.

" I rang 2 other bells, and I heard activity, but no one opened a door. I walked up a few more stairs, but saw nothing and decided to try my luck on Temple Street. Wow, just a bunch of fat women in their 40's. I then tried a massage place, but they said 1300 for FS. I said no, thinking they'd haggle as I walked away, but they just let me go. Lee mansion, 33-35 Carnarvon Rd, TST; King Hing bldg. , 52-54 Argyle St. , Mongkok; and Fuji bldg. , 381-383 Lockhart Rd. , CWB. You may want to concentrate on those.
The reason it's called 141 is it's the relevant section of HK penal code that restricts brothels to 1 provider only.

PC out.Don't remember the number but one stops in front of a coffee shop right next to the Jordan exit if one took the MTR. Think it is an E. IMHO, Eaton is actually not easy to find or get to. E buses are cheaper than A but take local routes. In this case, it should not matter as it is right off the freeway.

I am sure this report will not be useful to the HK veterans, so this is just for the HK newbies.
There are several ways to monger, of course. There are places where providers congregate, and in HK there are plenty of such places, such as the Temple Street Market. However, those providers are mostly old and fat. Then there are MPs, but again, most providers are old and fat. There are pickup bars where you can check out the talent and bring a girl back to your hotel or to a short-time hotel, but I didn't check that out this time around. Then there are outcall agencies, but when you RTFF on HK, you are advised to steer clear of them in HK. But HK has something unique. They are called 141 girls. In HK, it is legal for a woman to exchange sex for money (check out wikipedia for more info), but vice establishments (i.e., organised prostitution) is illegal. So, providers sometimes run their business as a 1-girl-1-brothel shop. The number 141 refers to the code in HK law that allows such establishments. These 141 girls work out of apartment units. There are websites (such as go141.com, miss148.com, etc) that tell you where the apartments are, their menu of prices, their pics, etc. , and they are updated it seems. The main problem is that the pics may be heavily photo shopped, but no big surprise. So anyway, to conveniently find these 141 girls, you first need to know what area of HK you are in, obviously. For example, I was near Jordan and Mong Kok. When you go to those 141 websites, you can specify your location and then it will show you the apartment building addresses that are near you, and floors and rooms these 141 girls are in. But you really only need to know the apartments, because as you go to each floor, it is obvious which units are "open" for 141 business (e.g., they will have lights, pictures, welcome signs, etc.). Then, you just ring the door bell of the unit. A girl will open the door and greet you, and if you like what you see, you enter, shower, and proceed to have fun. The usual price seems to be 400 HKD for FS. If you want extra stuff, like massage or dress up or anal, then there is usually an extra fee.
Now, all of this sounds simple enough, but here are key things you need to know. If you are new to HK, you may not be aware that many apartments (pretty much all 141 apartments) have entrance ways that are inauspicious. That is, you have no idea where the hell the front door to the apartment is! You may think that 561 Nathan apartment entrance is somewhere between 560 and 562 Nathan, but that is not where the entrance is. And, there is absolutely no marking that indicates the correct entrance (there's no lobby either). On my first night, I was looking for 66 Parkes, and it was nowhere to be found on the Parkes block that should have had the 66 Parkes address. So, I went back to the 141 websites and discovered that they provide pictures of the entrances. These entrances are tightly jammed right between businesses. You see, many of these apartments' ground floors have tons of of small businesses, and jammed right between these businesses will be an unmarked regular door that often directly lead up to stairs. I would not have noticed these doors unless I was specifically looking for them. So, before you head out to find these apartments, make sure you know how to find their doors! Google maps does not help. You need to look at the pics on the 141 sites.
As far as the experience, well, some of these buildings (e.g., King Hing Building) are crawling with dozens of college students hunting for attractive providers that are available. You may feel uncomfortably about that (you will definitely run into many, many, would-be customers, there is no way around it, so don't hope to be unseen), but it is what it is (and even though I'm Asian, I still got a lot of looks from other would-be customers, since I'm twice their age). Most providers will have pics of themselves on the doors. Those that don't, well, there's usually a reason they don't. I rang a few of their door bells only to be greeted by an old or fat woman. So, you may wish to stick to doors with pics, unless you don't mind ringing a bunch of bells to try to get lucky. Many will have a sign on their door saying either "please wait" or "welcome. " The former usually means they are with a customer. If the door has some English written on it, then the girl can probably speak a little English. Those doors with no English but only Chinese written on it, well, those girls generally weren't able to speak English. Anyway, one night, I spent a couple of hours walking to and from several 141 buildings, and up and down many floors, but every provider with a decent pic (and there are many such providers) on their door was with a customer (albeit, it was at 7 pm on a Friday night). Several hallways had 4-5 guys waiting their turn. But again, 7 pm on Friday is obviously going to be a particularly busy time. I am sure it's not this busy at other times of the week and day. Eventually, I decided to just wait my turn and hung out on the 5th floor of Parkes. I was rewarded with Tiffany. Great young gal with great body. And great experience with romantic shower with BBBJ, then another long BBBJ on the bed, and then multiple positions. And she was conversational and cheery the whole time. My guess is that many of these 141 girls are service oriented, as they probably rely on repeat business since they only usually make 400 HKD per customer.

Use Street View in Google maps. An updating process was started about a month ago so you will see their cars around town. They are actually doing bike trails in the US so maybe they can be convinced to go into some of the 141 entrances and hallways! LOL.
Since you are doing research before hand, Street View will give you a feel of a location before hand. Maps navigation will get you within a block.
FWIW, I use Maps a lot and always have a wireless data plan. HK does not have the worst building numbering system. It is very compact, not that big, and easy to get around. Taxis are cheap. Signs are in English. A lot of people speak English, even the beat cops.
Oh, as for Temple Street, a field report mentioned that there are young ones but an old lady will guide you to the honey pot. You are literally a stone's throw away so you might reconsider another visit. Peace.

Has anybody heard of a club in Wan Chai called HKD, (or similar).As the other poster mentioned most likely HKC (HK Cafe) unless your friend is an HKD and having a go at you; sending you around the bars asking for HKD.
