Was in Mumbai recently for a night. I was a bit doubtful, but then it turned out to be a wonderful night. Really wonderful!
Before I left for Mumbai, I had put a post on forum requesting Mumbai guys for help. Help did come in from Hitesh1979, Sarang, Man In INdia, and MATDO (from Ahmedabad forum). Thanks a lot guys for your support and guidance. Members like you keep the purpose of this forum alive.

So I didn't think it'd be so soon, but here it is. It's actually been pending a couple of days.

Wow! Got lucky with IFF. It is such a hit or miss site, and you can end up spending a lot of money. You should start giving out tips on leveraging IFF. I have tried Fr*are with mixed results! Have had some luck in BLR & in Mumbai with it.

no fr, just something i thought of sharing for some newbies like myself.
so i decided i was bored out of my wits and got my regular cabby to "show me around". i thought it would be interesting to see the infamous dance bars in mumbai. he brought me to cha*a*a where there were 3 bars. got the name of only the first one, right on the main road called ra*na pa*k, bright green sign and a few guys sitting outside. it was empty. 3 chicks dancing and about 15 men (waiters, plus band guys plus managers) around. it was an intimidating atmosphere, but i was ok as i was just taking in the experience. 2 of the girls were pretty good looking actually. kept looking over at me. i just had a drink and left, just as the cops paid a visit. went to another one in the lane down the road, better atmosphere and it got crowded after midnight. girls ok, only 1 was hot. i tipped her for dancing, she was appreciative. but again, nothing happened. what can when there are so many men around?

You could have atleast asked her to hand the phone to the reception and told the receptionist that you know her and since you are busy, can't see her at that time. And told the same to the girl. The thing is, I had never ever tried venturing into the DB scene as I felt it was wasting our hard earned money on a girl who you are not sure if will ever sleep with you. The *worst* that can happen is they take down your name and address & you have the option of paying Rs. 1200 legal fine on-the-spot or at the station. No violence and no rudeness ever towards customers. And this happened only ever once in all the raids.
The usual procedure when there is a raid is that the girls will first disappear and the waiters will take their coats off / be dressed only in the white shirts. If you are squeamish you can leave now but at this point there is nothing to worry about as there are no girls in sight and you are for all purposes drinking in a regular bar. If there isn't enough time for the girls to leave, they get lined up & put into a van, taken to the station and released on a fine of Rs. 2500 each. 90% of the time customers don't even have to leave the bar. You can finish your drink, tip the "DJ" for some more songs and watch the fun.
Seriously don't be worried at all. NOTHING happens to customers in a raid. Just act confident. Even if you are in a room with a girl, nothing will happen. You get dressed and come out, girl gets dressed and if the police are already in the bar she gets taken to the station. 90% of the time there is at least 30 minutes prior notice of a raid.

When I say confident I don't mean rude especially with police. If you are drunk to the point of being wasted or loud you are going to the station. Any rudeness whatsoever to a cop = gloves off. Treat them with respect & a firm tone and you will be fine. There is a pecking order in Mumbai and cops don't give a shit about your rights as a citizen, they aren't even aware of the concept. kamatipura but very close but in a entirely different neighborhood. has anyone heard of phool galli. as you come down from grant road station flyover from west to east, the first right goes onto lamington road towards lamington road police station and computer / electronics bazaar, etc, don't take that right. topaz bar is on the left side of the main road, , take that right turn at a small signal and go ahead and then take the second right, this is called pavwala street. some beer bars / shetty bars and there, go straight past them. there is some famous mandir on the left and a police chowkie on the left itself, don't make eye contact with the cops. diameterically opposite to the chowkie, is a small entrance to a chawl-like building next to a panwala, which is always buzzing with activity, even at 4 pm or 2 am, lots of people are seen entering and leaving that entrance on an otherwise quiet lane. if you look up you can see a chawl with a lot of girls peeking out. enter there and go straight to the first floor. there are 50-60 small individual brothels in the whole building run by pimps or aunties in nighties (ex-hoes) and the girls live there itself. it is very dirty place with rats and paan stains but damn cheap and open all through the night. there are 2 floors, and you can peep into each room and if you like somebody you can select them, usually there is one or two fair, good-looking girl in each room but they are usually taken up fast. there are small partitions to do a quick shot, paani jaldi girao, etc, types. do not pay over 150-160 rs and just walk out if they ask anything over that. they are cheap hoez. do not take any of them unless you cannot afford anything more more than 200 unless you wish to have sex in a dirty smell noisy partitioned room. if you want to experience falkland road without the risk, this is the place to go. there are some gems there in the lower floors but you have to find them in the middle of all the ugly-looking ones.
