Usually apps like Nearbuy (and Freedeem, as someone also has mentioned) have multiple spas listed on them with competitive rates for the counter charge (and usually far less than if you are just walking in, or calling and arriving). So, before going to a new spa, I check the apps to see if they have a voucher rate, then I don't buy the voucher. I reach the spa and then show them the voucher rate, and then tell them to take in cash for the same amount.

Most (almost all) of the time, spas accept the voucher rate in this way, because (a) they know that the spa is listed in the app and they know it has an advertised rate and (b) paying them the same rate in cash is more beneficial because they don't have to rely on the app to clear the amount to them, because I believe these apps usually deduct a finding fee or something when they clear the amount.

So in effect, win win for monger and spa.
