Wish me luck... Yes it is a shame that there are no posts on Calcutta ..... Calcutta does offer a pretty good nightlife. Infact it has been picking up over the last 3 to 4 years now with most of the discotheques revamping their look and feel and the services, new nightclubs and sportsbars opening.

There are the traditional readlight areas where you can pickup girls as well also there are street walkers.

Two of the traditional redlight areas being Sonagachi (in the northern part of Calcutta and Kalighat (near the temple).

Streetwalkers can be found in various places throughout calcutta but it is difficult to give an accurate description to an out-of-towner.

The best part about girls in Calcutta is they would be about 70% the price compared to Bombay and Delhi. So it is cheaper.

The discs are quite packed in weekends and some of the girls may be interested in going out. Personally I have not tried this as I am normally there with friends and wife.

About working girls: There are a couple of places in Sonagachi area where you can get wonderful girls for about 2 to 3K. However, if you have fair skin the price maybe somewhat higher.

Calcutta (especially the Sonagachi area) has irradicated the threat of AIDS through some exemplary work done by the NGOs some of whom are run by the working girls themselves.

All girls insist on condoms and some may even refuse service if the client doesn't want to wear one. This indicates a pretty high level of awareness.

So if you like the look of Indian ladies (dark to light brown, dusky eyes, well rounded ...... not fat) then calcutta has lots to offer.

If one treats the girls well and goes back to them 2 or 3 times then you can almost have almost a GF experince.

It is rather a sad commentary that people are not posting about Calcutta nightlife when there are so many interesting things. Most of all girls.

Thanks for your contributions. Well there seems to be no one else around. Next time I'll be in India I sure will make it to Calcutta some time next year. Don't want to disappoint; I have no facts on Calcutta itself but some questions.

price for a short time (1 hr) for a good girl would be indian rupee 2000.

as for english, yes some girls do speak but such girls are few in sonagachi, but i guess you can find one.

if you are comng from outside india and if you are not an indian do not go there directly but write to me for a contact number (use my mail id given below). i will pass on the number. this is just to ensure there my contacts are not deluged by calls from non-serious persons.

non indians loitering around sonagachi are easy prey for police who also loitre around that place for easy prey and they simply harass you. you have to pay them some to get rid of them.

another piece of advise to people: i was there a few days back with a friend at 2 am in them in the morning . the place looked practically shut and was accosted by the police, hd to pay 1000 inr to get rid of them.

so if you are an indian also, do not venture there at night unless you go straight into a building and spend the night there and come out in the morning.

however, from 10 am till 10 pm it is cool as there is a huge crowd and police do not bother you unless you pick up a fight either with them or someone else.

I am a local over here and I think you get the best meat here and also at a price far lesser than other cities. I have been researching for the last 10 years and have sampled some meat myself.

Broadly we can classify the scenes as below

1. Traditional red light areas:-
Sonagachi:- To reach here take the metro and get down at girish park stn and just walk a little, you will find a petrol pump on your left and right next you will find a small road, go inside and you will have lot of meats.

Choices, bangladeshi, local bengali, nepali girls.

Entertainment offered :- cabaret dance in buildings you need to pay 700 Rs to watch the dance and for f**k extra depending on the girls and looks. you will get from 50Rs to 5000Rs here you can take her out as well. Best time to visit is in the afternoon.

If you wish to visit at night go during pujas when the whole kolkata is care of street.

Aids prevalance :- lesser than other cities like mumbai but wear the rubber. awareness is high here.

2. Kidderpore :- watgunge, sample local and Nepalis . Rate 50 rs to 500rs for a single shot.

3. Kalighat :- Local bengali girls, quality low rate Rs 50 to 300 Rs.

4. Premchand Boral St:- Local bengali girls quality average Rate rs 50 to Rs 500

In all the above place you should negotiate hard and should not carry excess money as you will be ripped off and you should specify before hand that she should strip nude and she should allow you to suck her tits, specify clearly everything.

Near Kolkata there are lot of places which are popular among locals, like Daimond Harbour, Falta, karagpur, digha bakkhali, joka (lots of resorts), Amtala (bagerhat area for traditional red light stuff).

If you are of indian origin and can speak hindi then you need not hire anybody but you may negotiate directly with the lady of your choice except in Songachi.

If you have an experience of delhi then here it is less threatening than delhi and there is no specific number system as in delhi gb rd.

Mujras are available in sg ( cabaret type ) but for the real mujra stuff you may get it at BB Ganguli st. There is one building after the phear ln cutting, very old, it had a fire accident 3 years ago. and also rashid khan the gangster was arrested for bomb blast from here .

Well If you do not want to venture out and can compromise on 5 star luxuries then I will recommend Great eastern hotel, here the bell boy will bring the meat at your room. so you need venture out at all.

You can try Metropole bar in dacers lane.

There is one nice guest house called monalisa in sarat bose road, you need to book before hand and you should get the girls from outside. Never enquire here as this is decent place. Calcutta is the cheapest place to monger around in this country. Quality Inn is a decent 3 star place for lodging. Catch a decent taxi driver and fix him up as your guide for the days that you are there. Also include the Taxi charges also. Remember that you should be paying 35 USD tops for an above decent girl for LT.

And if she is really pretty and educated then Max 70 USD for the night. Have fun folks. I wish I could offer my services as I do for mongers in Bombay. But am in a different city.

There's a good report on the Calcutta scene upthread.

Tantra is best at weekends, weekdays are variable. Not all the girls are necessarily pros, but many non-pros are willing to get fucked anyway, especially if you are white. There is also a place called the London Pub at the Golden Park on Harrington Street. Quality Inn is on Chowringhee next to Grand (5-star). Ask the bellboys, they will certainly get you girls.

I apologise this is v. delayed and thus is a little vaguer than I would wish.

I completed my trip to Cal in early Feb as planned. First of all I thought I had found a decent private car driver who said he could get older laides in Sonagachi and arrange a cheap hotel in Salt Lake. This did not happen and I wasted my time.

I decided to go to Sonagachi early with another driver. He said he knew some guy but apparently he wasn't around. We then fell under the spell of a dalal who said he knew where I could rent a decent room and take any girls back there. This also didn't happen - more time wasted. I tried to find a room myself by wlaking around but this was also to no avail. Decided in the end to just take the girls to whichever room they had. Saw an older
(mid 30's) and younger (early 20's) bengali girls one after the other. Both said they recvd and gave oral but this did not happen properly in the room. Both started at 200 Rs but costs were added on as usual. Service was also hurried. Must say that both women, as well as number of other Bengalis I've had, possessed incredble breasts that looked deceptive until unclothed. Really firm and full.

Went back with the same driver early another day. He said he knew a place which was good quality service etc but for 500 for a full hour. I agreed to check it out. It was run by an older lady. There were only 3 ladies but they seemed keen to push this pregnant looking, gentle type onto me. I decided to chose a darker skinned, slimmer one instead. The room was one of those multiple ones but we were alone. They took the 500 plus cleaning extras but seemed helpful people. Apparently all the girls were all Bengali. I insisted this is what she agreed but she wouldn't have any of it. In hindsight I should have taken what I could. She said she would give me back 50 - big deal! That was that.

Oh yeah, somewhere in there I also ended up being shown aroound my a Dalal or twp to the main houses which I declined. One scary incident was in a fancier house which I think was called the Yamuna (beware!). There was a middle-aged and younger Marwari women there. They seemed friendly and said the service was 300 for the full hour with everything inc. Sounded good and probably was. However, when I said I wasn't interested they got aggressive and wouldn't let me leave and insisted I paid them. I stuck to my guns and eventually walked out. Shame as I may have stayed if they hadnt got like that.

All in all, some great places if u have the right contacts!

I saw the documentary on TV about half an hour ago called "Born into brothels". About kids brought up in brothels of Calcutta in India. About an American woman teaching photography to kids of prostitutes, trying to help a small group of unusually street wise clever and gifted kids. Help them get an education despite all the incredibe prejudices against them.

I had tears streaming down my face by the end I am unashamed to say.

I saw eleven year old girls, ready to becaome the fourth generation prostitute of the family, ("My auntie has sent for me to 'work in the line' in Bombay").I saw a ten year old be called a "worthless fucking ****" in Hindi by a next door neighbour. All the girl said was "you certainly know how to use your mouth."

I saw a nine year old boy being beaten for not doing his chores (apparently, even though workstarts at four inthe morning) whilst being called "son of a fuck-pig" or similar. The dignity with which they held themselves was terrific. As more doors closed for them, you saw the light leave their eyes along with the hope.

Oh, one of the kids went on a plane and asked "does the Window Open" as hewas sent to Amsterdam by a Charity to help judge photos at a competition there. This is what a lack of education does, even to the talented and the gifted.

Some of the kids (especially the two you knew were the best and the brightest) did OK. Beloved parents dragged the rest down. When he came back, he had a nice surprise. His Mother died in a kitchen accident. (Her Pimp burned her alive).

I am back from a quick trip to Kolkata. Though I had visited the city several times, I never ventured into Red light district (the infamous "Sonagachi"). Here is a quick guide for all those who are curious about it.

First, if you are NOT an Indian (I mean of a white / Afro / chinese race), then I would strongly advice you AGAINST visiting this part of the city. I never saw a white person at that place and you may invite too much attention and trouble!

Second, the hygine factor. That place is so stinkingly filthy (the streets), I lost my appetite for a day just thinking about it. However, there are few buildings having "high class" stuff which have rooms fitted with clean beds, AC, Freezers, liquor and even "dance floors" !!! Avoid eating cooked food sold on the streets.

Third, STD / HIV alert. ALWAYS carry and wear protection. Gachi has the highest concentration of HIV infected sex workers. The sWs are well educated by NGOs and they insists on condoms. But the desperate ones can do without it. Beware of the quality of the latex. Carry your own.

How to get there? : Its easy. Take the Kolkata Metro to Girish Part station. You will alight at CR avenue. Walk in the same Road keeping "Liberty cinema" to your left. Keep walking for 5 mins. You can watch the shop hoardings which give out the street names in English. CR avenue changes its name to Jatindra Mohan avenue (its the same stretch). You should see a Bharath Petroleum (BP) outlet. A very next crossing is entrace to Red Light area.

Time: The action starts around evening. Visiting between 6:30 PM and 9 PM may be good. I never tried other timings. The rates go down considerably as it gets late in the night.

Pimps: By this time, you should be pounced on by the pimps. I would advise not to yield to pimps early in the game. Keep walking in the Road ignoring them. That road connects to another avenue (parallel to CR avenue). You can get a good view of the SWs who line up the street staring at the commuters. The pimps will try to lure you with all the tricks. If you walk briskly, you will be "passed" on to the next pimp by the whistle signs. Just ignore them and walk. Eventually they will leave you to your own. If you have specific preferences, you may choose to go with a pimp. Don't hesitate or shy with pimps. Tell them what you want. They will take their cut anyway. Ensure you get what you pay for.

Action: As a common feature of the sub-continent, sadly most of the girls working at Gachi are either traficked from poor parts of the country (Jharkhand, Andhra, Bangladesh, Nepal etc) or second generation professionals who are born there. They can be rated between 2 to 7/10. Hindi is commonly spoken along with Bengali. English is very hard to come by. You need to pay upfront to mamasan or the Girl. There are some buildings named Prem Sangam, Prem Bandhan etc which have neon lightings and playing loud music to showcase "quality". The rate varies from Rs.300 to Rs.800 for a ST session. Pimps offer the overnight package. The rates depend on your negotiating skills.

Girls do not offer BJ (even covered) or Anal. Only missionary is allowed. No doggy style either. The Girls tend to hurry you up OR they may get "mobile" calls during the action to spoil the fun. Speak with mamasan and be demand your money's worth.

Sonagachi is perhaps the safest and best place for Indian mongers in Kolkata, unless you are not too keen on having very sophisticated and amazing girls. If you walk a little briskly in the area no one will notice you there because of the crowd and residential areas nearby. The area has a number of buildings in the bylane each having scores of girls. The better buildings are Night Lovers, Neel Kamal, Prem Bandhan etc. These buildings have maintained their reputation of quality, integrity and safety. They have the best, clean and most expensive girls of that area. I rate Prem Bandhan as the very best with the best rooms. Each building has 3. 4 floors and there are 6 or 7 rooms on each floor. These rooms are rented by the girls from different parts of the country who live there by paying a heft rent. I have observed that upper floors have better girls and one can climb up the stairs and have a good look at everyone before deciding. There are at least 3 or 4 girls in each of these buildings who can be rated 8 or more in looks, attitude and even in performance and some GFE. Rates are standard in these 'good' buildings at Rs 1550 per hour all inclusive and one need not even ask the rates or bargain at all. Bargaining does not help, not even in day time though some say it is cheaper in day which I don't believe. Pay upfront. Girls in the good buildings are typically middle and lower middle class girls with senior or junior school level education and can hardly speak English. But they are good looking, clean and young in the age bracket 19. 25. They are well aware about health and hygiene, disease free and take many precautions to remain so. The rate may sound cheap and therefore misleading. But the quality is good. In any Mumbai joint they would ask you to pay not Rs 3000 but at least Rs 6000 for a similar quality/standard girl and that too after bargaining. In Mumbai the girl will even expect a tip at the end. Here you need not give any tip and if you do it will be a pleasant surprise for some girls. Once a girl even refused it, saying that I have already paid for her services. I generally spend around 2 hours at a time there. At Sonagachi you will always find some new girls who have just entered the profession. The pimp can lead you to them. This is also the place where you can watch a naked dance following by FS. Most girls are clean and will not even agree for BBBJ or any awkward poses. They can call a girl from a nearby building at cheaper rate if you want BBBJ or a massage. I found this place very convenient during business trips to Kolkata when the only time one I have is in the evening and I am in a rush. Sonagachi is easily accessible by Metro. It is between Girish Park and Sobha Bazar stations. If you get down at Girish Park you can walk towards Sobha Bazar and the entire area is on your left after you have walked for 50 meters. For detailed directions just open the map of Kolkata in the web site wikimapia.org, just zoom in and you will even find the name of Prem Bandhan building on the satellite map. You can take a cab too. It will cost around Rs 60 from Park Street. If you are embarrassed to mention Songachi to the cab guy, just ask him to drop you near Sobha Bazar metro station near the petrol pump. You can directly go to the buildings in that area or if you are new approach any pimp sitting outside a building. You will find many pimps roaming around and they can be easily spotted. Even if you don't approach a pimp he will still follow you into the building because he gets paid 25% (Rs 375 for every hour) by the girl after you leave, even if you have not taken his services. If you take the services of a pimp, then Rs 200 is more than enough. Say a strict 'no' if he asks for more, because he will get money from the girl anyway. The entire place is safe without interference of LE. After about five minutes a car came and the manager spotted me rightly. I was told to get into the car and right at the back seat I found a plump girl who could be model of desperation. The car rolled on and the manager asked for the money. I told him that I shall only pay once I reach my destination. He phoned Rajesh and he inturn talked to me. He told that money was not everything and trust was the key to his business. I should not be hesitating to give away the money. But I have not yet used it. I went the paper internet way and must have made at least 50 calls before I got 2 decent contacts.

The problem with S***** is low quality of girls

On a negative note, the night trip was a disaster. I frequent Kolkata on work. On my first visit, i was bit exicted about checking out pleasures after days work. The city is ruled by marxist pretenders.
