Went to Sanur 29 last night.
Found it with ease thanks to excellent GPS coordinates, using my phone. THANKS.

Yesterday I've visited Angels. At the opposite side of the Bali Galleria in Kuta. Don't ask the taxi to drop you off at Galleria itself. It takes half an hour to get to the other side of this busy roundabout by foot.
Angels Has a non-descript sign, just 'Angels' above the entrance. On the right and left side there are other (more normal?) Spa's. A huge Chinese one to the right. Might try that out sometime.
When I walked in I was greeted by 5 or 6 average looking ladies. About 20 to 30-ish year old. One hottie did got my attention. Nice pair of knockers. And of course a welcoming smile on her face. Next thing we walked in a small room and discussed the price and service.
The word 'Room' is overstated to be honest. Very small, very dim light, just a bed with not too fresh looking sheets on it. The girl washed me with a Mandi (pan) with cold water in the corner of the room. And then I could dry myself with the smallest of towels which smelled not too good. All in all not to appealling.

I'm heading over next week to do some diving. I did a search but did not come up with any recent info other than Ryo's excellent post from two years back. How much is the going rate for FL in the discos such as Bacio, 66, Deja Vu and venues as such? Are all of the girls in the disco freelance or are they mixed in with non-pros? After getting much information from this Forum I feel it's only fair to give something back.

Taking heed of reports from people such as Ryo, I did not go out until 1:20a.m. I'm afraid that was still too early. I first went to Bacio. The place looked much bigger from the pictures on their website. There were maybe 8 other people when I arrived. There was 1 girl sitting alone on the couch. There were 2 girls together drinking at the bar. There was another group of 5 people (males + females) in the back. I sat at the bar and ordered a Heineken (50K) which was not even cold. One sugar daddy came in with 3 girls. It appeared that one was his girlfriend and the other 2 were her friends. All of the drinks were on him, and at 120K a pop for mixed drinks he must have spent damn near 700,000 on the first round because they all had some special mixed drink that included a flaming shot. Two more young girls came in and were dancing with each other. I stayed about an hour and decided to leave. The place was virtually dead with loud ass techno music.
I walked down the street to see if anything else was going on. If you use the Bali Monger map (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=203117349039894693981.0004a30411d29e76bcdda&z=13) you can zoom in to give a pretty good idea of location, or use your smart phone with a gps app and the coordinates from the monger map by clicking on the icon, then "directions".

There is a concrete mixer plant on the left. On the right there is an area set back a little from the road with little "warungs". There's also one place on the road roughly facing the concrete plant (with the quite nice Shanti). You won't see chicks walking the street in daytime. You need to be a bit nosy! Good luck.

It's not a bad bike ride over there, but I wasn't sure if there'd be any places closer to the resorts over in Tanjunbenoa. I see that there are some resort spas there, most of which I assume will be legit. No idea, never been there so I can't be sure.

I think the infamous Flea Pit is down Tanjung Benoa way. Possibly closer than Jimbaran Beer. Never been tempted. My old grandma used to say "Lie down with dogs, you'll get fleas" and I'd have to agree.
Incidentally, the Jimbaran Beer Massage is Rp 100, 000 more costly than the south Denpasar head office (Arum Body) , and the Jimbaran premises seem really cramped. For what it's worth, I'd lash out the Rp 50, 000 it'd cost to go by cab to Kuta Bugar, Balinese Massage, Star Jaya or Arum Body, if a rub and tug was what I was after.
And it surely couldn't cost much more than that to cab it to the X houses in Sanur if a fuck was what was required.

Firstly don't stay at Benoa or Nusa Dua as they're miles from anywhere! If you do then you're stuck with the Flea Pit although I'm sure there are other places in that area if you have your own transport, an evening and enough spare time. I tried around 3pm and found nothing.
Personally, I found Angels at the roundabout good value for money and found the girls very enthusiastic and certainly as good quality as any of the regular X houses in Sanur.
At the Lim-Ling Bar in Sanur a bit north of Sanur Night Market there are 4 or 5 girls. All are fat and ugly except Nengksih who is mid-thirties, kind of Chinese looking, not unattractive and an extremely good root at a hotel out the back fopr Rp300, 000 all up. Possibly less.
There is another bar on the other side of the road about 30m north. All were ugly!

As for Jimbaran Beer, last time I looked at Barri's monger map, it showed it as being on the land side of the Jalan Uluwatu (east side) , whereas in fact it is on the seaward west side, that is, on the right hand side going south towards the Bukit.
Knowing this still doesn't make it that easy to find, the sign is small, and from memory it is only clearly visible if you are coming northwards on Jalan Uluwatu.
Again, dredging through my damaged brain cells, if you're heading south down Jalan Uluwatu, away from the airport and towards the Bukit, and you pass a modern car showroom on your right, you have gone too far. U-turn and look carefully for the sign.
When I finally found it there was a power outage, so it was like the Black Hole of Calcutta. Cramped, sweltering and pitch dark.
I ended up driving all the way to their Renon branch and had a fine time with Eka.

Of course, if you are young and handsome. Or even old, handsome, charming and generous, you might get some nice girl to drop her panties for fringe benefits. Just like any other city in the world.

When I arrived in Bali I went outside of the airport to look for a taxi. On my way there were several propositions. The first one was US$15. I declined and kept walking. The next guy that propositioned me wanted 80K. I told him that I would pay no more than 40K (because that is what Baliboy said should be the meter price from the airport to Sanur. Goodness was that ever wrong!)
Walk to outside the airport. Around 10 minutes. Get a taxi there. About 50% cheaper. Have them turn on the meter. To Sanur around Rp 40,000.I actually got the guy down to 45K, but I wanted to continue to the outside of the airport just for the experience. As soon as I went out of the gate there was a guy in a Bluebird Taxi. I went with him to Sanur. It was 86,900 by the meter. The ride was 37 minutes arriving at the hotel at 1455.
I checked in at the Palm Garden Hotel (Jl. Kesuma Sari 3, Sanur 62-361-287-041; www.palmgarden-bali.com). The cost was 480K / day (I tried contacting several places through their websites before my trip but I would never get any response and ended up having to call the places to check for vacancies and make reservations.) I went to look for some wheels and a SIM card. I bought a SIM card at a camera shop / convenience store on the corner of Jl. Danau Tamblingan and Jl. Duyung for 20K and got an additional load of 50K. I immediately sent a text to my Tagged contact to let her know I had arrived.
I went searching for a motorbike. I talked to a nice looking girl in a tour kiosk on Jl. Danau Tamblingan who said she could get me a bike for 50K, but after several tries she could not get in touch with her contact, so I told her to get the bike for me and I would come back later to pick it up. I ended up walking to find the dive shop because I had to be there by 4pm to confirm my reservations for the next couple of days.
I went on a hunt for Bali Scuba, Jl. Danau Poso 40. I made a right onto Jl. Danau Poso from Jl. Danau Tamblingan and figured with the number of 40 it could not be too far. How wrong I was. The numbers went from 8 to 30 to 80 and back down to 12, with no 40 in sight. It is not logical whatsoever the way those addresses are numbered. I passed a 10X on the left and wondered if that was one of the X houses. I ended up having to call the dive shop to make sure I was on the right street. It turned out to be much farther down.
On my trek the first person I ran into was a heavyset lady about 50 years old. She was outside cooking food with a much older lady who appeared to be her mother. As I passed by she ran out to the sidewalk and asked me if I wanted to fuck. I had to pay it all upfront. There was no deposit. I should have read the contract because I brought it back a day early but could only get half of my money back because #7 on the conditions section says, 'The consellation fee 50%. ' Evidently it was supposed to say cancellation although technically I wasn't cancelling; I was just returning early. It was only a US$3 loss so what the hell.
I went back to the restaurant as hungry as a bear. When I got there nothing was ready. They hadn't even attempted to prepare anything. I was very upset. Evidently around there the words, 'I'll be back shortly' mean nothing because the same thing had happened with the girl at the kiosk. I went to find another restaurant, and decided on Ronald's Cafe, which had free wifi and some damn good food.

Just spent a night in Kuta and went to check out Sky Garden, as it was mentioned on here a few times favorably.

PedroBest advice I could give in this situation is to simply do a little research before wheels up to Bali.
My buddy and I spend a few dollars (or free if on the internet) but a detail street map of Bali from a bookstore is better. Looked at it for about 1-2 hrs to familiarize the overall area and the major JL (streets) so we don't look too confuse when we arrive. A little knowledge beforehand is a powerful tool.

Just wondering if the actual exchange rates for ATM machines are the same for all banks or do they vary. If they do vary, for those living in Bali or Indo that uses the ATMs, which banks offer the best exchange rates when taking money out?

If I use an Indo ATM to withdraw money from an off-shore bank account, I pay the bank's standard fee for such a transaction. Doesn't matter if the ATM is in Bhutan or Bali. It's the same cost.
If I use an Indo ATM to withdraw money from an Indo account, I don't pay any fee if I use that particular bank's machine. If I use another bank's ATM I pay Rp 6, 000 per transaction (70c US).

In other words, if you are using an Australian bank account, the transaction is calculated at the interbank rate between Australian dollars, US dollars, and Indonesia rupiah.
I haven't heard that a particular Indonesian bank's ATMs are any more advantageous than any other. I'm sure the rest of the pack will correct me if I am wrong on any of this.

OsNot sure if you tried to really negotiate the price or did you give up after only visit to 1-2 Xhses?
Won't dispute that many X-hse have unattractive ones but also many nice ones to be found also. Don't forget the timing as all these gals get shuttle around quite a bit from X-hse to other X-hse or to hotels with phone in orders.
Standard procedure is to look as uninterested as possible (so walking in with a hard on is not good for negotiations) and offer a price BELOW the standard price. They will laugh and counter with a much much higher price. Now just say No and say will go to another place and most of the time they will come down to the regular price. If they don't they are trying to rip you off and in this case simply leave for another place.
This was how PhantomT and I did it and had about 90% success rate.

And the Group also owns a significant stake. But yeah, separate corporate entities.
As explained to me by both Citibank and ING in Latin America, no foreign branch wants to touch a customer from their USA affiliates because of the US. 's anti-money-laundering and other reporting paperwork. This 'arms-length' relationship appears to spill over to ATM fees, even wholly owned subsidaries such as Citibank's Banamex treat Citibank customers as 'foreign'.
I have moved my travel ATM and credit card over to a no-foreign-transaction fee bank after doing a comparison using Citibank and CapitalOne that showed a true 3% cost when using Citibank for serial 300 euro withdrawals. Many brokerages reportedly also offer no-fee cards. Unlike two or three dollar flat transaction fee, a 3% fee is a pretty steep price to pay for convenience.

Was pushed for time and negotiated down to 150. 000 Rup from 200. 000 which seems a bit hot for 20- 30 minutes just for the massage.

Home regrettably from my Bali trip as love the place and the ladies and services on offer are varied and interesting.
The place I visited that I made a reference to in a previous post is in Sunset Road. My guess is that their preference is to accommodate locals and make the gains on tourists but never the less I passed even though it probably still represented good value compared to Aus.
I visited on Fieldy recommendation Rosalinda in Seminyak which is not far at all from the Bintang supermarket in Seminyak.
Not flash to say the least and the ladies that total around 6 vary in looks some quite easy on the eye with good figures.
Amazes me that they don't offer FS but happy with BBBJ.
They like to engage as many ladies as possible in each service so I took up an option after some pretty good negotiation two ladies for 350. 000 Rup.
Felt a little more daring the next visit so up that to 3 ladies for 450. 000.
Good experience having the three alternate nibbling away then blowing the load while the onlookers play with the balls and shaft.
Certainly will be on my list for next time.

Basic massage and room for one hour should be 50-100k (depends on quality of room and if it has in room shower)

Ok, I have seen it mentioned a couple of times but never a real report. Sooo in doing my part (finally) here it is.
Melati Spa is located on Dewi Sri, on the left hand side of the street as you are looking at Kuta Galeria (NOT MAL BALI)
You cannot miss it it has a large RED wall (wonder what that stands for)
The ground floor is reception and Hot tubs similar to japanese onsen. Never tried them but it smell clean?
The entry cost varies. 185, 000 for a curtain cubicle and 300, 000 for a private, A / C room with shower. I always pick this. CLEAN!
The massage is very credible, strong and. Suggestive if you make the right noises. No direct touching on your privates but all around them.
Now having said that, I have a couple of regulars that I see #9, 12 and one other who is now gone

Yes Dewi Sri is in Kuta. If you have a taxi take you to Kuta Galeria / Central Parkir on Jelantik it is the road that is a 90 degree angle right at the entrance to Kuta Galeria.
Another report for the uninitiated. Be wary of the street hawkers offering massage. Especially on Legian street. The other day I was walking and saw 2 HOT girls. An older woman offered massage with one of them and I hesitated. Wanted FS. I asked and was told. Of course. We get to the room and I strip and then they only offered HJ. Not good.

I think Sanur is your best bet it will take you 90 min for round trip most taxi guy will try to rip you off for 180 k for the trip, you can hit a few brothel in sanur and return to Club med you might get lucky inside club med for single tourist not much going on in Nusa dua alot of high end hotel and mostly family tourist in the area.

Do a search for the Flea Pit. It's very close to Nusa Dua. Might even be in Nusa Dua. I can't comment on it first hand, because I've never been there (I usually stay in Sanur when I'm in Bali) , but there are many reports about it here.

OAHOAH, so finally made it out of your China hunting grounds.
The closest mongering destination that is "near" N. D. Would be the flea pit several kms outside of N. D. Note: there are absolutely NO mongering sites inside of N. D. Itself as it is a very secure resort area that requires everyone to go thru a security checkpoint to enter this area. You will know what I mean when you arrive there. Very safe but at the same time also keeps out all the "fun".
PM me if you are interested and I could give you the details.
Also, N. D is not the best place to be for mongering as the times given are not correct. It will be at least 45min ONE WAY to get to Kuta, Legian etc as there will always be traffic at several choke points leaving N. D for Kuta such as the airport and Kuta itself is a real traffic nightmare by itself. You can often walk faster than driving in this area.

-PopperThere is a small place just opened om Mataram St just couple mins walk from legian st, where most of the girls live called Warung Coco, the rooms are not huge but are brand new and spotless clean inc Free WiFi, A / C, full Breakfast, Full sattelite Tv, I had a look in yesterday and is ideal if your on a budget and would be great also for short time room. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and very cheap.

-PopperTruth is most of the smaller GH in and around Kuta / Legian are never 100% full as most don't have online reservations. Mostly the well known big resorts and hotels and some with online service are the ones that fill up 1st. If you don't mind walking around alittle or better get a taxi and make sure he don't leave right away while you do a foot search if the first ones are full then something is always available. Just be aware though that prices do go up at this time.

Hello, everyone, I read through the forum but have two quick Bali logistical questions I didn't see the answer for, issue I have is I am arriving at 11:50 pm on a Friday night. If anything like Jarkarta the airport will not quick. My questions are:
1) Is there a place I should exchange money at the airport? I just need to get through the first day or so until I get sorted. If there are ATMs that look safe then I'm fine to do that. If I exchange money, I assume USD is the best, or would something like HKD be better? I assume then just get in a taxi and get to the hotel.
2) Assuming it will be a bit after 1am before I get into my hotel and do my arrival routine. Probably not the worst time if everything goes to plan. But let's say I don't get out until 2 a. M. Or so and I don't have a ton of time to waste, where would you suggest I directly race off to? Assume it's one of the places listed throughout, but was curious based on this time of early morning. Assuming you will ask what I'm looking for, any late night, bar / club type place, regular girls also involved a plus but I'll be in Bali plenty for that, so fun enviornment with the most / best talent. Not so concerned about price range.

If you use the taxi stand, which I recommend if you are a first time arrival, you pay a fixed fee at a window that is also to the RIGHT as you exit from arrivals.
At the hotel. You will be very lucky to be at your hotel (any hotel) at 1 am If you arrive at 11:50 pm. If you are a late night person, places like Sky Garden and Mbargo don't even warm up until 1 am , so 2 am is not a problem.

Arrived Kuta two days ago. Beach dirty. So much pollution / traffic. And the touts are extremely pushy. Everyone tries to sell you this touristy garbage at high prices. Last night went to all the bars, M-Bar-Go, Legion, Paddys, Sky Garden, ER, Bounty and the rest. The places were packed, and I do mean packed with drunkin Auzzies all blitzed out of their mind. Was swimming in drunkin stupid Auzzies, and if I never see another blitzed Auzzie again, won't be too soon.
There were very few native gals in any of the clubs. Was there until about 11:30. Bounty Disco had about three. All fugally. Took one, just cause wanted release. She wanted 500 for ST. I offered 300, and eventually, reluctantly, she took it. Mechanical. Not worth it. This afternoon went to Sanur, On On bar. Just outstanding place. People friendly, fun, lively. No pushy touts of Kuta. Little traffic. Did an X-House (thanks Barri!) and was fantastic. Gal was nice. Shapely. Large butt. Perfect. Cost was only 200K all inclusive.
Then this evening went back to all those Kuta bars yet again, and stayed there until figure 1:30. Was really bad. At max I saw ten gals in the bars, and each more fugally than the next, asking 750 ST. 1 million LT, and would not bargain down (not that I would have taken them). What broke the camels back was this last gal I met, perhaps mid-40s, again fugally quoted me 750 ST and then I jokingly asked LT and she had the nerve to quote me 1. 5 million. Crap, you'd have to pay me that amount to even touch her.
According to one person here, there was a knife fight in one of the bars recently, and two drunkin aussies supposedly died. This is why there are few if any gals in those clubs any more. Personally I have no clue. Only know that those clubs have few if any gals, and those who are there are old, fugally, and demand insane amounts of cash.
Have a hard time trusting touts on the street offering women, drugs (which would get you thrown in jail here for life) , viagra, etc. Unless I get better suggestion, my thought is to move on to Sanur.

There were no other bars or anything else with gals. No other places with music, lights, or anything else. I highly doubt there were any FLs around. Getting frustrated walked back to Kuta. Few guys on motor scooters asked if I wanted gals, and I inquired. ST 400 (one hour), and LT $200. Sure. Right. What are these guys smoking anyway?
Found Blue Bird, and he said there is no action at all in Kuta, and for gals must go Sanur. He then offered to drive me to some place called Baroka (no idea if this spelled / pronounced correctly) which is close to Sanur. I refused, figuring that I will be in Sanur soon anyway. He then said there a place in Kota where there are girls, and he would take me to them. He was texting his phone at this time, as taxi drivers always do while driving (go figure). We get to this wonderful place, and there was nothing there. I asked why are we here, and he said that his "friends" would soon arrive with girls. At that point, I paid the meter plus a 15K tip and walked out. He appeared pretty frustrated that I decided to leave.
Walking back, few people on motor scooters offered me a ride home, including two lady boys. Ummmm. No thanks. This one gal drove up and offered me ST / LT. How much? 500 for both. No. 500 LT and 300 ST. OK. She drove me back to my hotel, and she stayed ST. She was figure 30s or even 40s, not very attractive, and I feel I paid too much; however she did give a nice massage and a ride back to hotel, so no complaints.

-PopperWow Popper you really tore Legian apart. I was in Legian on Monday night, and I haven't been out at night for a very long time. I went to three places just to see what was available as I was thinking what the heck has happened.
Paddys 11pm. Left hand side beside the main bar full of working girls and some I would gladly take back home. Of the 20 girls that were there 10 were older (35+) as is always the case some mid 20 girls looking ok, and 3 honeys who were all looking for some fun. Also the younger ones were very aggressive in looking for customers, I was fairly well dressed and they targeted me and actually came up to me direct. I said I would be back and the girl in particular was not impressed that I blew her off.

I agree with Profdesigner. Was at SG on the 26th around 12:30. There must have been 30 FL. Around 10 of them 7/10 plus. La Vida Loca had around 10 FL. Unfortunately, as usual there, a bit older.
SG will have capacity of 10, 000 people for NY eve. I have a serious concern with the structural integrity of that place.

According to one person I spoke to, since this the time from Christmas and New Years Eve all the gals leave Bali home to JAVA. Would not surprise me. So glad to be out of kuta. The traffic, pushy touts selling crap, pollution, and high prices. Pass.
Left three days ago to Sanur. Grabbed a BlueBird and just went from hotel to hotel. Found a reasonable guest house for 200K / nightly and includes hot water, very nice clean room, and AC. No TV, which is perfect for me. Not far from swastiker hotel.
Sanur is not for everyone, but more my style. Rented a bike (as in bicycle) and toured the city using Barri's Map. Map extremely useful. Actually, would be lost without it. Visited today all the different X-houses on the map. Some really tough to find. Was like a scavenger hunt. Number 99X is a tough one to find, and some houses are no longer, as 50X. 505X. A few mislabeled. But without the map, I would be completely lost, so a million thanks to Barri.
Two nights ago did Baroka Hotel to get a gal for the entire evening. There were 15 gals in the place. None that spectacular, but none bad. Naturally I took the one with the largest tits. Unfortunately later on found out that the rest of her bod also bit chunky (see picture). She looked way better with her cloths on, believe me! Baroka wanted 800K for all night, I counteroffered with 500K and we settled on 600. Fair enough. She was fine, nice attitude, and fun for the evening. She left at 6:AM that morning, not unexpected.
Pretty certain all x-houses go for 200K plus 50K for gal for ST, tho they initially ask 250K or even 300K. Offer the 200 and just walk away, and they will prob take it. A step or two above the regular gals at the X-houses. Now we're texting back and fourth. Bla bla bla. Going for this gal will be more expensive when you including the usual courtship, not to mention the fact that taxi alone from Seminyak costs 160K RT.
Spent day riding around on my bicycle. You'd think that the beach air in Bali fresh and clean, eh? HA! This air sucks! Especially around the Kuta area near the beach, pollution really bad. I still have this thing in my nose / throat which I can't rid. Am reluctant to ride a motorbike since do not have an international license, and cops do stop you and check (I've seen it now three times). Sanur pollution not as bad, but I can still feel it.

Since last report decided to go and perhaps find bit of trouble, or the case, allow trouble to find me. It a few hours ago at 9:30 or 10:30 PM. Went down to near On-On. Decided on 99X. No reason. To make the hunt for talent more accessible, there is a well known map here with GPS coordinates of spots.
Once you have a suitable app in your smart phone (and you have a GPS phone) , you CAN type in the coordinates and you are set. This is pretty laborious. But what this does for you is make the location of X houses and landmarks a very easy thing.
I don't know if this forum will allow this, but I'll give it a go. What I've done is EXPORT the Bali coordinates for massage / sex places from my phone, you can IMPORT them into your phone to save you the trouble. This isn't ALL of them, but those around Sanur where I was staying last time.
Attached is a file named Waypoints-123011-031821. Txt.
RENAME it with the "txt" replaced by "kml". The forum wouldn't accept a. Kml attachment.
The android app that EXPORTED (and will IMPORT) this file is called "GPS Essentials" version 2. 6.0, and is written by Mictale. Com. It is in the Android Market. It is free!
This file is an xml type file (basically a text file formatted in a special way). It is not dodgy. If you are sus open the. Txt version in a text editor (gedit or vim on Linux, Notepad or Word or LibreOffice on Windows. Mac-ites can fend for themselves, I've never used it!) and you see it is a xml type data structure.
Now once you've imported the waypoints file when in Bali, open the app. Then open the Routes bit, it will give you a heading and distance to the waypoints. Very accurate. Don't forget to enable GPS on you phone of course.
As this is xml based, it is possible that other apps will be able to use this waypoints file, but I haven't tried others. This one works and is free. WIN.

Well, it happened. Gal I saw from DIA took my money. You see, I gave her before I left her $50, 000 dollars US. Oops. Did I say $50, 000 US dollars? Meant to say $50, 000 dollars Indonesian, which totals to about $6. 00 US. Anyway, the difference is theoretical anyways, isn't it? Point is that she contacted me once. And not again after my single attempt to text her. If interested, this gal who near and dear to my heart I named Little Butterfly. Went exploring last night. Area which labeled 21X in the SW corner map is no longer and has been replace by a bar called Warung Baton Nyuh. It a small building with Christmas lights on the outside and loud music. Entered about 8 PM and there was only one gal in it. Supposedly by 10:00 there would be from seven to ten gals in the place. After my first couple of days in Bali where it is clear I have been paying over the odds, I decided I needed to toughen up when it comes to negotiating. Felt the need to close the Rosalinda story with a visit to the other place with the same name. This one is near the famous Bintang supermarket about 100 meters down Nakula on the left. Well covered already by other forum members I was in search of the 2 or even 3 girl tag team BBBJ.

Will I have a chance to get something worthwhile short time (or for the night for that matter) , or should I just go to bed and nurse my jet-lag?

One of the toughest things I found about Bali is that things just don't open up and get rocking until late. The first few times I went to Bali, admittedly on short stays, I thought the place was dead and overrated because most places were empty at 9 or 10 pm. (I am talking more about Kuta, Legian, and Seminyak, BTW. If Sanur is different, someone else may want to comment.) Things don't pick up and the SYTs don't arrive until about 11 pm. I posted a report about a friend I picked up in the rain, banged her, then thought we were going to sleep and she thought we were going out!
If I were you, I would consider a Kuta / Legian hotel for the first night, get a pick-up from Paddy's or Mbargo, and sleep in the next morning. Then move to Sanur.
Or get that good night's sleep in Sanur!

Comfortable enough, good A / C, free wifi in the room, satellite tv, and only about A$25 a night.
Get yourself some surface spray to stop mozzies going under the door though. No big deal.
My room needs are pretty simple, a decent bed, quiet and good A / C. Was happy with that place for the money.
Going up in late Feb for 10 days, staying at the Febri's Hotel next time, more upmarket at about $55 / night. Much closer to Kuta. A local friend often stays there and says it is a favourite.
I was going to a pub with a live band (Bali Beach Shack in Legian) last time, this is much closer.
Keep in mind that some things are cheaper in Sanur, the tourist price is a bit lower than Kuta.

For 300, 000 is not doable. Second, I HATE traffic and usually have little time so going to Sanur and paying 250, 000 is not an option, Third, Angel is a fleapit. Literally, I got bedbug bite there that last two times I went in the middle of last year. Not going back.
Yes, Malati is more expensive. BUT 1) I can go anytime during the day, morning, afternoon. 2) Clean private room, Working AC, and a real shower.

I guess for me, the quality, the cleanliness and the convenience (time factor) are more important that the lowest price and in the end I am happy with it. Just a matter of taste I guess. BTW, when I am in Sanur. I do partake at 18 and 66x for the 250, 000. But I do not go out there often AND during the day, the pickings are a lot slimmer.
Sanur is boring. Unless you are just there to play. If you are looking for some monger action over anything else it is the place to be and at 250k per session, affordable and cheap. For more varied action Kuta is where you want to go. Seminyak has very little action unless you make contact elsewhere. DIA is a great place to find some escorts.
In Kuta you can pick up girls at the clubs for late night. This will run 300 fo ST and 1 million for LT.
Or, if in kuta. Hit one of the massage places. Melati Spa, Balinese Oriental massage, Kuta Bugar, Star Bugar. FS is

A fan is not enough on a sunny afternoon! Regarding the sheets I think they are changed every day at it's best.
And the girl you pick might be one who thinks her obliation is only to provide a (sometimes smelly) hole.
So your summary is right: For "the quality, the cleanliness" Sanur is not on top (with the occasional exception).

with apologies for delay, and now a moment to catch up. there were problems had in paradise (bali) , with this darn cold which was going around. who knows where it came from. one person called it the bali crap. went to that hotel with abbreviation d. a. (forgot name, near baroka). three hags arrived. horrible. then across the street to the 3x house. 200k. she was great, and i gave her a 80k tip, which is high. however i noticed at the end bit of "mens" coming from her. just a tad of blood. and, a day or two later ended up with a very small bacterial "red dot" type infection. could tell it not bad, but for a while little popper felt bit broken. instead of going to the doctor, decided that since leaving indonesia in a few days and put up with it. had cipro at home anywho. it got smaller, and soon not even noticeable other than that small red lump. still, tho psychologically.
finally there was a lot of rain those last days before i left on the 6th. when it rains at bali, it rains hard. and there just not much to do. rode my 6 speed from sanur to kuta and back almost every day, and got caught in the storm twice. point is that health wise, things got bad, and after i left bali for jakarta health got worse. way worse.
ok, to business. went in sanur to 11b. on the lot itself, about seven males outside smoking cigarettes, playing poker or somesuch. they felt like mafia types. whatever. inside it was something of a showroom. glass in front. figure about seven or eight peering inside.

OAHKing Hampton made good report about a year ago; post #2461 as it says in the placemark. Prices shouldn't have changed much.
If you go by taxi, coming from Nusa Dua, I think you'd better tell the taxi to stop when you are opposite the place, say at the intersection with Jl Raya Uluwatu. Then cross the Bypass and walk the rest. Otherwise you might waste a lot of time having to go all the way to the traffic light past the airport landing strip where the taxi can make a U turn.

however, taking a single capsule of antibiotic is doing little other than contribute to the bug becoming more antibiotic resistant. that is very bad!
a bug needs to cop the full force of a full course of antibiotics, otherwise (to paraphrase an old saying) what doesn't kill it makes it stronger.
but needless to say, a dose of gonorrhoea or syphilis is annoying, but with luck there is still antibiotics that particular bug isn't resistant to.
the real worry is the big bugs that antibiotics won't touch, you know the ones that can take years to emerge?
a perth guy caught hiv recently in bali, and that was from a tattoo needle (so he says).
