If you are in Seminyak, there is a little market on the left hand side at the dog-leg left hand turn at the top of Jalan Raya Seminyak as it heads towards Jalan Oberoi and the Kimia Farma (near where Sunset Road enters.) Nothing is easier to do then what you want in Bali. Pick an area in Bali you would like to stay. I recommend Seminyak. When you arrive relax for a while and at 12am have a taxi bring you to Skygarden in Kuta. It might take a while due to traffic in Kuta.
In Skygarden, take your time, have a beer and look around. The place has 5 floors packed with girls. After a while it will become obvious which girls might be "available". As for the girl, in my opinion you would be much better off to leave that purchase decision until you are on the ground. I can't imagine anything worse than booking some woman from photos on a website and then being confronted with someone with a lot more mileage on the clock, or chronic bad breath, false teeth, or a star-fish attitude to sex.

Are there places there that are not girl friendly? 04 in the Art Market area in Semawang, on a corner of a nameless gang slant opposite On-On, is a low grade ST 'hotel'. Enter the gang opposite Jl Bet Ngandang 2 (at night the gang is very dark) and walk some 80 meters, pass the first branch to the left and countinue straight some 20 meters to the second branch. Turn left at this corner and there is 04 on the left. Probably a guy on a motorbike will turn up and ask if you want a girl. If not, or in doubt, walk instead Jl Cemara from Ganesha roundabout slowly on the west (=right) side, heading south. When opposite Warung Ketut the young female keeper of the shop next to the gang exit, calling herself Djodjo, will ask you 'Want young girl', then she will take you to 04. When bringing me, she initially said the price is 500 000 IDR, but as as said 'I will pay 200 k, because that is the price everywhere in Semawang' and started to leave, she finally agreed. Went to SkyGarden on my first night out in Bali. It is just a 5 minute walk from Legian 101. Wasn't really impressed by the scene here. I guess it's a good place to be if you are just out of your teens and partying with a bunch of friends. Freelancers on Level 2 club. Not many in the Level 3 disco. I passed by yesterday for the first time in months. What was once "Balinese Massage" is now a hotel / karaoke / spa. Didn't take in the new name. Looks like it's still operating as a massage though. Girlies outside.
And one of the reflexology blokes who I've known for years and ran into recently told me that Kuta Bugar management is trying to go "clean" with a sign at reception saying "no extras". The Chinese woman owner has cut down the number of girls from a high of 120 a few years ago to a mere 40 now. Those remaining are said to be under threat of instant dismissal for any hanky panky.
Star Bugar has taken over the mantle of Number One Rub and Tug (and more) in that particular neck of the woods. It's both wrongly named (Star Jaya) , and now, because it's moved, wrongly placed on the Monger Map. I would change it but forget how to do it.
For those who don't know it, it's part way down Jl Dewi Sri that connects Sunset with Patih Jelantik from the 5-way intersection. New McDonalds at one end, the Kuta Galleria at the other. It's on same side as the golden arches. There's an up-market (expensive) spa also on that street, in the last block before Patih Jelantik. Called Melati Spa I think, and definitely offering the whole shebang.

During my first days in Sanur, Bali, I went looking for action. There are lots of massage places with cute girls out front and having been to Thailand many times, I decided to try my luck there.
It wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. The massage places are not very private and they ask you to strip down to underwear, not totally nude, so I wasn't expecting much. I did manage to insult a woman by asking if she offerred massage plus.

Hoping she was fishing for more than I tip, I asked her if she had a boyfriend. She said she didn't because she didn't have the time. Unfortunately, all she told me was to go to Jalan Danau Poso, so I don't think she was looking to freelance.
In the afternoon the next day, I went to check out the Jalan Danau Poso area. It is supposedly the "red light" district, but it is *very* low key. I walked up and down Jalan Sudamata trying to identify the places listed on the monger map. The places are not obvious at all, at least during the day I thought. I did see a bar that had some worn freelancers calling out the very familiar "hello, welcome sir" that I would hear in Thailand, but I didn't see anything worth taking so I moved on. There was a very small place on the left that I stopped in to have a beer while I got my bearings. There was a slim woman, probably around 35 that I didn't fancy at all, so I moved on.
On my return around 11pm at night, I found the area to be kind of scary. The only people I saw out were the touts promising me beautiful women. Again, while walking up and down, things were not obvious at all, which was a big let down. I passed places clearly listed on the map as those with girls. However, they are not obvious from the road.

Before heading out, she asked for a tip. I gave her 50K. Normally, I don't tip women, but since this was a tout situation, in other countries the breakdown is something like 150K for the tout. 75K for the house and 75K for the girl. She's doing the most work, but gets very little, so I gave her the additional 50k.
Overall, her service was mechanical and not worthy of a repeat. In other words, going for strange the next time gives more pleasure from the anticipation of something new than the simple getting my rocks off with her.
Today, I asked my hotel about a motorbike rental. He said if I didn't have an IDL, I would end up paying the cops several times. In Thailand, you pay the cops, but are usually limited to once per day per offense. Here, it seems that's not the case and the cops keep collecting on each additional stop.
It's too bad as I would really like to drive around and identify the location for the monger map and see what kind of deal I could make on my own.

After 2pm, I called her work place and asked for home service. She came and gave me a massage and eventually it turned into a complete massage. She wouldn't do more than kiss until I asked her specifically how much she would like for sex. I ended up paying her 200K tip on top of the cost of the 1. 5 hr massage. She was okay looking, but not great; she wore too much make up. She was very petite at only 38kg. She claimed to be 23 but was probably more than 30.
Having left Bali, I really regret not trying the fishbowls on my own.
My advice to anyone heading to Sanur. Print out detailed maps to each of the fishbowls. My data connection was terrible and I wasn't able to use the monger map on my phone while I was out. Hell I'd even consider making a deck of laminated playing cards with info about each one. I would exclude all short time hotels, unless I was with family and needed their services. None seemed to have AC and Bali is too hot for a fan room.
Bring an international drivers license so you can rent a motorbike. Having the mobility would do a couple of things. First, you can go directly to the fishbowls or full service massage / spas near and far without having to pay a driver commission. Also, if you are on a motorbike, it's unlikely every taxi on the move will stop / slow to ask if you wanted a lady. This gets really annoying. I should have rented the motorbike and simply paid the police fines.

I have been working my way through all of the reports for the past year in Bali, and let me first say thank you to all of the great contributers. It makes planning ahead for this adventure possible.
I decided to look into some of the profiles on Tagged, to possibly setup a number of 'get-togethers'
I have to tell you, this is a lot of work, and you have to wade through a lot of sh*t to get there.
I do have a few leads that look promising, but it really takes hours in the trenches and no less than a few handfuls of hair pulling to find them.

A few years ago I found DateinAsia to be a pretty good site for meeting girls. This past year I've found the online thing to be full of a lot more BS. i'ts been about a year since i was staying in sanur mongering part time on and off but i see a few bits of info that are missing. it takes a while to work out the more underground mongering scene in sanur as with many of bali's treasures, they are below the surface. i'll just make a couple quick notes of key info on things i saw missing in the recent posts.
massage parlors in sanur.
almost all the massage parlors on the main strip offer a damn good (non-sexual only) massage for 50, 000-60, 000 ($5 or $6 usd) often by a hot chick. i'm a massage addict so i've been in every one and most, multiple times. the main difference is the actual venue itself, some are nicer, offer showers, or private rooms rather than curtains, etc. i'm not going to review these joints as thats probably not what your looking for and soliciting these girls is considered bad form fyi, i tried the most discreet insinuations and struck out 100% of the time except for two places that cater to more 'sensual' massages. nothing in the middle of the main drag will have happy endings, maybe someone will correct me here but that's speaking from vast experience.
the first one you can find easily if you have a map or are slightly familiar with sanur. in sanur, on the main road head east towards towards the bypass. when you get to the bypass, mcdonalds is on your left and you would turn left here if you were heading to kuta, but you want to make a right (you can do this on foot). so make a right onto the bypass. +- a few hundred meters down the road on the right (so if you are in a car you are on the wrong side of the street divider and have to pass it then u-turn. there is a big sign (green with yellow happy face) that says "happy spa" or happy something, easy to spot just after a photo / copy place, i think this is well before you get to the kfc and the left hand turn into denpasar. massages are cheap. 50, 000 hr, and maybe on 70, 000 for 1. 5 hours (go with the 1. 5 hour). you can go about any time till 10 or 11pm i think, day time is no worse than evening as it is a massage joint. there will be about 5 average looking girls standing around, the girl at the desk will tell you to pick one. you go upstairs to a room made by curtains, get naked, they don't even bother putting a towel or sarang over you. typically you get a normal to semi-sensual massage (not as good as a normal massage in sanur) for about 1/2 of the time you paid and then she asks if you want a happy ending or more. i never went for more because the girls were not hot enough, but always got the happy ending. they might ask anywhere from 15 to 30usd but will always settle for around 10 or 15, sometimes even 5, it takes some negotiating, seperate your money and tell them thats all you have to make it easy. they always allowed touching, sometimes fingering and tit sucking and went topless, without me paying for full service. so thats happy massage in sanur.
theres one other massage joint in sanur, i can't remember the name, it might be angels or golden hands or i i'm not sure. you can find it however, on the main road in sanur go the other way this time, away from mcdonalds, towards the entrance closer to kuta. pass the empty wooded area where the big hotels are, pass the popular angel's bar on the right, and a little further down on the right you'll see it, the lobby is tiny with a black couch and a girl or two and probably a guy sitting in there. normal prices i think 60, 000 to start and happy endings were only around 100, 000, full service was only 150, 000 one time. you have to negotiate. sorry i can't remember the name. if you were coming from kuta and turn off the bypass onto the sanur main road it would probably the 3rd or 4th massage place on the left. there is one more place in that same area, closer to the bypass but it was never open when i checked, but to check out these 3-4 spots to find one that does consistent happy endings is worth it considering the rest of 50 places in sanur probably won't ever give one. both these places gave better service and prices to repeat customers, and offered showers.
moving on to the fish-bowl / aquarium joint. the one i went to was on the main bypass between the two entrances into sanur, it's known as "the aquarium" the sign is at an angle so it's hard to spot coming from kuta, if you get to the mcdonalds turn around and head back towards kuta on the bypass and it's on your right, its a white odd looking cement door with gate i think, called "hotel baraka". i think it gets going around 10pm but you can always go earlier. the going rate last year was 300, 000 and the girls were mostly average several below. if a taxi takes you there they might ask up to double to pay his tout fee. so get dropped off nearby and walk in or drive yourself, maybe try walking from sanur mcdonalds, but its a km or two. i didn't like any of the girls and i was with a balinese friend who said lets get a drink at the bar (its like a bar more like a terrace from the hotel office, no girls there) and ordered a cheap beer. a guy comes out and says whats wrong with his girls and i say i want a young, small, cute girl. he says ok, and no more than 5 minutes two guys on separate motorbikes roll in with 2 girls on the back of each bike all smoking hot, easy 8's or 9. i pick the youngest cutest one then realize she might be **** so i ask my balinese friend to check her i'd for me, she turned 18 yesterday, i kid you not. great service from her, instead fo the 300, 000 they told me to pay 400, 000 (including a very decent room with shower) because they had to bring this girl in from elsewhere and i argued then paid (i'm a cheap charlie).
on other trips around sanur, if you are with a local indonsian you can get a 30min to 1hour deal at most of the x joints on the road (many are not marked this is impossible to work out without a 'friend') and i never paid more than 200, 000 short time when going with a local. every time i went alone and not speaking indo, i was asked more, but the point is, locals pay 150, 000 or 200, 000 or so, so you can negotiate, and we found a few hotties after stopping into 3 or 4 places. sorry the info is a little dated but i just found out about the forum, if you need me to elaborate on anything here feel free to ask. happy hunting.
Padang Galak is a small village just north of Sanur. It has a few hotels and restaurants and actually a small RL district. I recently discovered a new Massage Parlour where everything seems to be on the menu. Jl Padang Galak (sorry for the street name) runs through the village, passing the MP and the two flea pits as a diversion from the Bypass. Tip for jl Danau Tempe explorers : Don't go the place 1Ball paid a visit (#2499). Which is that alley wth a row of fleapits.
But keep going till the small bridge (60 m) then 40 m from the bridge (left hand) see a pair of guys sitting and chatting at the entrance of a small gang. Have a look inside. 10 Kafe with rooms, all in all more than 100 WG.
Some are very nice looking girls.
Drink beers and see what's happen. Local place. Clean if compare to fleapit alley.

The one on Danau Poso is nearly dead because of police. So went on Danau Tempe on the other side of the highway. On the right before the bridge you enter on the side of a small building (notice the motorbikers waiting) and you see small bars. Locals pay 50 000 but gals ask 150 000 to me which is overpriced for the quality. Moreover, during my visit police raided and I was locked in the dark.
After I crossed the road to the other brothel just after the bridge, one bar on the righthand is cleaner with Pattaya type girls but this time I was quoted 300 000 (locals pays around 70 000 there). I found a decent looking about 30 yo for 100 000 in the dark on the right, but the mandi and room were filthy.
Strangely, one lady had said no police raid would occur. I think they bribe them more.
My last visit to an outside brothel some km northern of Sanur on a small street along the coast in the fields (called padanggala). Again, notice all the guys on motorbikes as it was very crowded. This place looks more like Koh Krong brothel in Cambodia. Ladies outside under the trees so difficult to see because of dim light. Locals pay only 35 000 IDR, but one of them told me to be cautious about diseases. He negociated 100 000 for me, the lady looked 6/10 but scammed to much about what I could do. It was my luck because it was midnightand all girls fled as a pick up entered with flash lights. I ask them if they are from police, they say no, they claimed to be only citizens.
Are there indhu milices as there are now muslims milicias on Java or is it just a trick to take money from ladies?
My conclusion is that locals have very poor needs concerning the beauty and skills of ladies, whats worth the money for them was way overprised for me.

* Kuta Bugar.
I went there as Angels was closed. My first idea was to go to angel as I had not been too thrilled by the first massage, I thought that I could go for something more. Straightforward (I mean sex). Bad luck, Angels was closed (it was 4. 30pm on a Monday) so I went to Kuta Bugar.
I should have thought that this was not going to work as it was already a second choice. In Kuta Bugar, I made the mistake to pay for the massage (don't remember how much but less than a hundred) before having a look at the girls. I should have as there was nothing exciting in there (although up to 20 girls where sitting there). I had paid and come this far, so I picked one that seemed to have an ok face and some tits. I would say 5/10.

Also, just wanted to confirm that aside from massage places and SANUR, it does not seem too hard to score with non-pros and semi-pros if you go out in Kuta. Sky garden is of course the right place to go and you can always find a drunk australian girl if you're tired of asians.

I am an old Bali hand and hang out in Sanur. On previous trips (reported) , I have made a daily trip to 11X and have generally been very happy. I am heading up in February and was interested in trying to arrange a lady for long time (over night) instead of the usual 'wham bang'. Any suggestions? I'm heading to Bali in a couple of weeks and have been finding Barri's Bali Mongers Map (Posts #2589 & #3087) really useful. I've printed out his Absolute Sanur X map (Post #3087) which will be much more use on a scooter than trying to use a laptop (although I'm sure some of the locals would think it perfectly acceptable to use a laptop whilst riding). Building from that I've made a second printable map showing the locations in Renon (Post #3365) and Padang Galak (Post #3330). With Barri's kind permission I've posted it here.
I've tried printing directly from Google Maps but have found it drops off the markers. Maybe there's a way to get around this but I'm not aware of it. Instead to produce this map I did a screen print and opened it in MS Paint where I cropped it and added the place names. I hope it's of use to somebody other than me!

I noticed that on that site there is a 'Bali X map' which quite obvious is a plagiarism of Barri's 'Bali Monger Map': Same structure, same use of legend, even same capitalizing of LEGEND, with coloured placemarks and putting the legend placemarks out in the sea! It seems however that this map is more concentrated on spas and MPs, which is a good completion to Barri's map.
Last night I tried to find two spots in Sanur which are in the Bali X map but not on Barri's map: 20X and 4A, but couldn't find them, even when walking slowly and double-checking. Where 4A is on the map there is old 808X, which has been closed down for many years as a fishbowl. So maybe the Bali X map needs some more accuracy.

Between rains I thought I should take on a challenge: A road description to a massage place reported in 2007 by Daimyo:
In Denpasar there are plenty of massage parlours that can arrange a cheap but "heartful" treat.
Get in jalan I'm. Bonjol until you see a sign for moning maning, or something like that. Then turn left and you ll see signs of massage parlours on the left, the first is "putri jaya" if I can recall rightly.
But the best one is after aprx 200 mt on the right, is named "madonna". Guess that for 50 thousands rp you can have a satisfying experience.
Please keep in mind to let the prices stay low. So don't overtips the girls that usually have no contact with foreigners.Not only does the Fascist Auto Correction function of the forum software rumble up the only actual street name in the report, but the directions are also missing in clarity:
- Enter Jl. Imam Bonjol -at what point? There are at least five or six possible.
- Get in -in what direction? Northbound or southbound?

Jl Imam Bonjol stretches more than 7 km from Jl Raya Mendeka south of Sunset Road till Jl Gunung Batur, and searching for a sign saying 'moning' or 'maning' or something similar [maybe 'moaning'? ] (as I read the text) is hard on the eyes and a bit dangerous traffic-wise if you're on a motor bike.
I did find, however, after a while a street which had an MP called 'Putri Jaya' as the first on left, and when going back on the main road to check any sign it was perfectly clear: A big green road sign saying ' <-- Monang-Maning' at the bottom. (The road sign as normal half-hidden by tree branches.) 'Monang-Maning' obviously is an area in west Denpasar.
Well, there was no 'Madonna' 200 m down the street, but an MP with a newly refurbished front called Amyo 300 - 400 m down the street on the right hand side.
So what about the "heartful" treat?
At Amyo they don't speak English. Three somewhat chubby ladies were sitting in sofas, and the man at the desk pointed at 9 photos of ladies that were displayed on the desk. Three of these photos had a yellow bottle-cap on top. I learned that that meant 'Not available'. Maybe a total of four of the ladies seemed to be under 30, but on the other hand the photos seemed to be a few years old and Photoshopped. When I pointed at the youngest one, she quickly got a yellow bootle-cap. So did the next one I picked. With only four 30++ left I considered give it a miss, but since I already had spent time, I didn't want it to be wasted till I knew about the 'heartful treat' so I pointed at one photo at random (besides, it had started to rain again).
I got the guy to tap into my phone the cost of the session: 60 k.
The cubicles have hard walls that end half-a-meter below the ceiling, so limited privacy. The chosen lady arrived and she had a remote resembelance with the photo: more like 40 and overly chubby. Still: wearing tight shorts and a tight jumper.

Back in those posts I made, very valid and constuctive comments were made by members that the language I used was too formal.
One problem that was suggested was that it may not be understood by locals more used to slang.
Still they may be of some help if you cannot make yourself understood any other way.
Hand signals and miming can help.
Just make sure if the audience is not full of "holier than thou" tourists.

I went to Barokah Hotel tonight. Got there around 9 PM. Barokah Hotel is a bungalow setup. In the middle is a rectangle building with class windows (fishbowl) where about 15 girls sat. What is the story?I'm fairly certain that it's a scam, alot of these girls are just there as bait to get you hooked (they are the tout's) , once they have you hooked they take you to a palour, in the palour you get to pick your massage girl / lady / old lady. This has been my experience, there are many of these tout's in kuta, two that come to mind are on kartika plasa, one is on the corner of puspa aya (across the road from discovery mall). They will take you to a place in legian, not that nice but clean. And another tout further down kartika plasa will take you to place in gang ronta, a real dive of a flea pitt. Both don't offer anything over a 6. The massage girls across from melasti hotel on kartika plasa had some real good stock that would come to their rooms. But now they don't offer that service anymore, but they do still have the contacts, they can call for you and arrange for some one to visit your hotel. Hope that helps

There are many women working massage on the streets and in massage parlours.
I have found that mostly those women not in a parlour will offer extras, usually happy ending.
They will take you into the back of a shop and upstairs to a mezzanine type landing where the massage will happen.
So fan and no aircond.
Invariably you may strip completely and their hands will wander until the natural male reaction.
At which stage they will offer the usual "extra"
Usually need to be a little quiet as people wander into the shop downstairs
Normally they do not offer FS but when it has been discussed they offer their friend but "not here"
As to the massage parlours.
You will usually know that some sort of extra is on offer.
It will be part of the offer process when they accost you for massage, the side of mouth whispered "happy ending"
If you want more ask for it there and then.
I know 2 massage women at one of the more upmarket PI PII massage parlours.
One is in a permanent relationship with an English guy in Bali and the other is her best friend.
They both tell their horror stories of giving a good massage and being hit up for extras.

I fully accept that they do not offer extras.
That said the massage shops they work from are the more upmarket shops, the seedier ones often offer a different experience.
Also things are in such a state of flux in PI and PII with development that a 'street massage girl may be gone a week after someone sampled her services.
The more major the massage chain and the more permanent and upmarket the business the more likely a 6 or 12 month old experience will be likely to be repeatable.
And I would say the less likely to get 'extras' especially 'extra extras'
As for scams.
The most likely to occur is that as you take up your facedown position to begin your massage, a crowd of girls will descend on you and file fingernails and toenails etc etc.
They will then all demand 20, 000 Rp each. Which may blow out your 50, 000 Rp massage budget.
Another is that the 60 mins massage will finish after 45 or in some cases substantially less minutes.
I suggest that you buy a $5 watch on Ebay or on the street and when the massage starts, point out the time and re- agree the length of massage.
Another is that clothes may be hung up and when you leave may find your wallet lighter or other possessions vanished.
Once again the more upmarket the premisies, the less likely these scams will occur and the less likely your 'extras'
The advice.
Whenever you place yourself in a risk position, take all precautions and be ready for chalk up some experiences to an adventure.
So to reiterate, yes and no.
And ask before.

Just returned from a holiday in Bali and as always I stayed in Sanur. I doubt if you can beat Hotel Ari Putri for value for money!
In terms of recreation, I again relied heavily on my friends at 11X located on Jalan Danau Poso. They always delivered (with one exception) what I was requesting – younger, slim ladies – and they were hot! They appear to be Javanese and many from Surabuya which is not surprising. They also appear to be housed in 88X (see Barri's map). As reported in the past, I pay Rp250, 000 and know I will get what I want. Bear in mind, I also tend to show up mid to late afternoon.

ThanksUnderstand that 100, 000 rp is only a little over $10. 00. So if Papa wants 300, 000 rp because he has never seen you, it's only $5. 00 difference. Just go and look around and ask the price, if you want the merch then pay it. It's like a sandwitch, you get what you pay for.

TingletreeUnless one is disabled its really simple: If you are walking just wait a few minutes at the road side and there will be a gap in the stream of cars after the traffic light has changed to red at MacDonalds. Cross the first lane and take a rest on the lane divider, look for a gap in traffic coming from left and then cross the second lane.
Even if grass might seem to be greener on the other side don't discard the other fishbowls on the east side: 18, 3B, 11B, 89, 505 etc.

Being resident in Bali and living reasonably close to one of the beer massage places of Body Arum I was a regular customer for the reasonably priced no frills HJ, until today.
Knowing exactly the amount of rupiah I put into my wallet when leaving home, plus double checking before I went in, when it came to paying it was short 1 50k note. I immediately confronted them realizing that I left my wallet out of sight for 5 minutes when taking a shower, but of course nobody knows anything. It's only $5- in the end, part of which I probably would've given as a tip to the girl anyway but it is a matter of principle.
Although I realize it is my own fault and I should always be cautious, I somehow let my guard down thinking that after 10+ return visits and them knowing I live here they surely wouldn't try anything. I paid 50k less then the regular price for the massage, to which they protested, and left the premises to never return again.
They lost one very regular well tipping customer and gained negative publicity all for a quick 5 bucks.

Sorry for the delay in my reply. I had typed it out, previewed and recalled submitting it but tis nowhere to be found. So here I go again.
The hotel in my opinion was girl friendly. Personally, I have seldom encountered any problems anywhere across Asia. On the odd occasion where a concierge queried my coming in escorted, I would simply tell him to mind his own business and should he wish to persist to get his manager. It takes a brave soul to assume he has certain knowledge of the relationship. I guess if the girl is dressed like a pro, then you invite attention by all and sundry. So just ignore it.
On this occasions, I just walked in as usual with the young lady minding my own business and noboby paid any attention. I suspect the Walk of Shame is more a fabrication of the punter than the establishment who will normally turn a blind eye. They have everything to lose. A customer.
Given the nature of the business, I would seriously doubt that you can just rock up and expect the same treatment as a long standing customer. But forewarned is forearmed. I do not have the papasan's name. There are three guys that seem to run the place and they are all much of a muchness. Tell the guys at 11X that your mate from Aussie recommended them and you expect the same price. Rp250, 000. After all it is not a bargain basement price. But never be surprised or offended if they try it on. That was my own experience at 29.
I appreciate Shuga's insightful advice. I appreciate its simplicity. For the record, I am not disabled. I value my safety and have substantial knowledge and experience of Bali dating back to 1979, regular visits including a 7 month stint living in Renon. This involved regular trips during the week into Sanur. I suggest that Shuga walk along Jalan Sudamala and approach the Bypass from there. If you can successfully negotiate the traffic then you can run the 'steeple chase' and climb up the concrete barrier and crawl through the hedge. Then across another 3 or 4 lanes of traffic. Give me a break. I'll use my brain and take a taxi, even it if costs extra because it will be cheaper than getting run over and visiting BIMC.

I suggest that Shuga walk along Jalan Sudamala and approach the Bypass from there.
[cut]I have followed Barri's Fishbowl Trail numerous times and never ended up in BIMC. Crossing from Jl Bet Ngandang 2 (just opposite Barokah there is a shortcut from the bypass to BN2) can't be very much different from crossing at Jl Sudamala (the streets are in differents ends of the long bend), but I made a 10 minutes exercise tonight: From Jl Sudamala I crossed the bypass 10 times. 5 times in each direction. It took me a little more than 3 minutes. There was almost no traffic coming from north, and the traffic from south came in pulses thanks to the traffic light at Jl Tirta Nadi. This was at 10.30 pm, but I don't recall that it has been much different just after 8 pm, but of course it can be different different days.
Then I walked down to Jl Tirta Nadi (which took another 3 minutes) and checked that there actually is a green pedestrian light there, so my conclusion is that the bypass can be crossed there absolutely safely in two sessions: just wait a little while for the green walkman on the second lane.
This is also probably the way a taxi would take if one catches it at the right point.
B.t.w.: If I don't "Tell the guys at 11X that your mate from Aussie recommended them" do you think I can still get it for 200 k as I usually do?

I tried two places in Sanur.
The one I mainly went to was 289x. I went there a lot, so I won't do individual reviews.
Places in Bali are hard to find. It is roughly here: 8°42'22. 93"S 115°15'14. 98"E.
The road is a narrow one (single lane only) but paved, and it is on the left-hand side as you drive South.
The rate was 300, 000 Rupiah / session. The rate was technically for an hour, but I never used the full hour. It ended when I came, there was no post-session massage or anything. The system is strange. There are no girls on hand, the pimp goes off on a motorbike and picks them from somewhere. Occasionally I made requests like "young" or "Balinese" (the girls are mostly Javanese) and they complied, but mostly I just let them pick. I had no complaint with any of the girls despite hiring them site unseen.
I had a broken condom with one girl; so I had to tip her 200k (I offered 100k and she asked for 2). I realise now she didn't put it on properly, so check they do it right. Some girls asked for a tip, so I would give a few extra depending on what I had on me.
You can expect BBBJ but no CIM, then just standard positions. Some will allow COT. I 69ed one, but she wasn't really into it so I stopped bothering after that. The rooms are basic, and there is a bathroom / toilet for washing. They provide clean towels and change the sheets after each sesion.

Everyone seems to indicate that Ubud is a dry area. I only had two massages there where my wife wasn't around, and both times got HJ for 200k. One girl was early 20s, one was late 20s. They both asked me not to mention their names, as there could be repercussions for them if they were found out, so I won't repeat them here.
Don't ask straight out, be tactful; my approach is to talk to them, get to know them a little, then in conversation mention that "a lot of guys must ask for a special massage". That gives them a way to decline gracefully. Above all, be polite and friendly, you'll get better results that way.
Mostly I drove down to Sanur to visit the X houses though, because I could get full service there for 300k, as opposed to massage + HJ for 280k.

Just on my first leg home after four days in Bali and wanted to give the bare bones take on my mongering successes and failures.
Arrival: got a cab just out of the airport and bargained hard to find I still paid about 5 times too much (lesson—get a cab from the window and ignore the teams of blue shirted drivers telling you they are the best choice). Had booked a hotel in Sanur based on info from the forum and off we went for Rs / 250, 000 (about $25).
The hotel I had booked on line was cheap and looked OK, but when I got there I found it was in a very remote location, on a back lane with little sign of life anywhere. This I learned it pretty much Sanur. The cabbie assured me I was making a mistake by staying there, and claimed there was more action in Katu (I was pretty clear on what I meant by action). So I dumped my $35 booking and went to Katu.
Katu is the main drag for the young Aussie crowd and had a lot more immediate promise than Sanur. The first hotel the cabbie took me too informed me that they would not accept guests, so I left and had him take me to another place. The second spot called the Yulia Beach Inn ($60 per night) had no problem with guests. I ended up giving the cabbie some extra money on top of the already high fare, but was at last in a hotel and settled in.
Girls in Katu.
The bars typically do not have girls lounging about waiting to meet mongering foreigners. Many bars to have hostesses, some of which dance in scanty outfits and who will give you a number or who you can pay to take home, but not really an easy find. Although some were pretty hot, I did not take this route.
There were some street walkers who looked pretty stoned near ground zero, but they wanted upwards of Rs / 1, 000, 000, which I was informed by some older Australian drinkers was way too much, and that I should expect to pay about Rs / 300, 000 (about US$30). Too much for a stung out street hooker in my opinion.
Right around ground zero, after talking to the street hookers, some young enterprising fellow on a motorbike asked if I wanted a young lady. We started the negotiations and he agreed to the Rs / 300, 00 price I offered and took me around the corner to a massage shop. The madam and her girls were friendly and funny and we chatted as she called a girl to come over. Apparently her girls were not that kind of girl.
The girl arrived on a motorbike and was my kind of hot—young, slender, pretty face and spoke English. She was from somewhere else, been in Bali a few months, etc and so forth but I didn't chat her up too much as I was focused on just one thing. My negotiator took me on his bike and she on her driver's bike and we went to the hotel. She went in my room, I paid the guys the Rs / 300, 000 with an extra Rs / 5000 tip. She was good a bit naive and such, but worth the time. She gave her phone number after our work was done, which I tried two nights later. She did not answer so I sent her a text to which she replied 'I cannot come, I am having problems with my pussy'. Fair enough, stay home or simply away.
I tried some massage parlors with poor results. The first I found through a woman on the street who promised me all the glory of Rome for a pittance (always a warning sign) and took me to a place not so far from where she perched. I selected a very cute Balinese girl (or so she claimed) and we went back to the room. She was plenty of fun, but insisted that for the Rs / 300, 000 price I paid up front I could only get a HJ. I gambled and of course once they had me in the compromised position they assured me they only thought I wanted a massage, but for an extra Rs / 500, 000 sex with both of them would take me to the heavens. So after fierce negotiations and me threatening to leave (even though they had my initial fee) , they agreed to sex for an additional Rs / 200, 000. I paid and of course they had to again delay. But they were now both giving me a HJ trying to convince me to give more money, so I came just out of spite and went my way. Not bad, and got a double girl massage and HJ for Rs / 300, 000, but was a bit of a hassle.
Sanur: well I had to see what it was all about so got a taxi to take me. If you ever return stay in 3 to 5 star accomadation or a Villa, $25 a day won't get you much especially for a well travelled gent like yourself. Also I would get a driver for the time that you are there, one that knows his way around, and dose not ask for kick backs from papsan's, he just drives you there and waits outside till you finish then takes you to the next destination of your choice, at least till you know your way around the good haunt's. PM me for contact details of a driver. This will take all the pressure off, and give you more time to concentrate on the matters at hand. I figure, if you are going to do it, do it right. BTW it's 'Kuta' not katu.

Just returned from a holiday in Bali and as always I stayed in Sanur.
In terms of recreation, I again relied heavily on my friends at 11X located on Jalan Danau Poso.
They also appear to be housed in 88X (see Barri's map).Many thanks for your report and recent information. On my first visit to Bali last year, I visited one of the Sanur Houses (18x if memory serves) and had a great time time with a slim 23 year old for IDR250, 000 and am considering dipping my toe into some of the other Sanur houses out of curiosity once back in Indonesia in a few months. I see in your report that you mention 11x located near Jalan Danau Poso. On the Bali X Map I can only see an 11B listed. Is that the same one, perhaps? Also, I can't see the 88x housing you mention, listed.
The other day I was half looking at CNN. I didn't catch all figures but the story was about a super luxury car factory in UAE. They were going to manufacture only seven cars and the price would be like a zillion dollars, but the representative said he had no fear that the cars would not be sold because 'There a many guys here who just love to spend their money'.
From recent posts in this forum it seems there is a fare share of those kind of guys in Bali too:
One is taking a cab to cross the street and paying 50 k extra because papasan is an old friend.
Another guys is is repeatedly paying 100 k extra or even 200 k extra.
I third guy is recommending hire a driver for the whole stay.
And one didn't know where he was going or where he had been. Everyone is entitled to spend his money the way he wants, but he should not claim that what he pays is the proper price.
There is no need to pay more than 200 000 rp in any cat house in Sanur!
This week I have been to
01 on Sudamala, opposite Magic Hands. Advantage: they have A/C. Went there at 5 PM. Got Itcha (fetched from 11B) from Bandung. Big firm tits, but quite passive. No tip. (Picture of waiting space attached.)
11X on Danau Poso. Fairly clean, but fan tends to blow open the window curtain. Got Sensi, 26 yo (fetched from 18) from Banyuwangi. No tits at all. No tip.

There is no need to pay more than 200 000 rp in any cat house in Sanur! Bookmarked in the mind for future reference, thanks. On my first visit to Sanur (18x) last year, I ended up paying 250, 000 total for the Girl and Room. In mind at the time were web posts saying 200, 000 was the norm, but it seems from your post that my core mistake was actually 'saying' 200, 000 which he probably took that as a 'proposal / question' rather than as a statement, because he started at 300, 000 and then the 'bargaining' began, which in itself sounds like a stage it should never have got to in the first place anyway. Next time I'll use your modus operandi and just hand over the money without comment, and report what happens. My Bahasa Indonesian is very basic, but I'm brushing up on it here in Thailand at the moment in preparation for Indo again. Would you say you have a good command of it, that helps him just accept the 200, 000 perhaps? Or is it truly just the 'way that you pay them'?
I've been here for a few months and been playing around a lot, the girls love the fact that I live here and am not just here for a short holiday. I found meeting at Mal Galeria / Beachwalk Starbucks or Coldstone to be a winner, although have taken a few who lived in Denpasar out to Obonk or Steak & Shake, local steak restaurants which most of them love and is amazingly cheap (steak for 2 cheaper then a large Frappucino). After this initial meeting the game is on, most of them thank you with a kiss, if they're willing to meet for a second time it is almost guaranteed to get them into bed.
Now, I personally found the Balinese girls to be much nicer then girls from other parts of Indonesia. Looks wise I prefer girls from Bali, Sundanese or Indo / Chinese, but find the Balinese personality to be much more genuine and sincere, without expecting much in return. An example is as following: one Balinese girl I met (although admittedly comes from a very wealthy family, you don't meet this kind on the internet FYI) , picks me up in her Mercedes and has so far treated me to dinner at Metis and Kudeta, which she insisted to pay for, so far she has allowed me to treat her to Starbucks once although I had to refuse the 100k note she tried to put into my shirt pocket. On the other end of the spectrum I've been sleeping with a girl who works at Skygarden as a "GRO" (the girls on the street in front that are trying to get you to come inside, or once inside trying to get you to open bottles) , who is from Bandung and easily one of the hottest chicks I've seen so far in Bali who is not afraid to keep asking for handouts for flight tickets, motorcycle payments, pay her kost for the month etc. Doing this once or twice every couple of months would still be cheaper then paying any good looking pro for one night so I just go with it, as long as it stays reasonable and I get what I want in the end.
So, freebie fun can definitely be had in Bali, less if you're here as a short term tourist but more then enough for the residents. Just be upfront with them that there will be no future with you, so there is less chance of any drama in the future.

I lived in Bali for a few years about a decade ago, I have been back a few times and while a little of the following maybe a bit dated it is in the most part valid.
I wrote this on a Australian forum regarding Bali. WL = Working Lady (polite term for prositute)
In general in the bars the there are two types of WL, those after sex with some money on the side and those after money. The latter are a lot less fussy than the ones after sex with some money on the side.

I've mostly mongered in the PI, Thailand and Korea and I'm looking for a new adventure. I've heard a lot of wonderful things about Bali and so I'm thinking about making this my next stop. I've tried a search on these forums for mentions of the Hilton in Bali but nothing came up. I was just curious about the location of the Hilton in terms of decent to great action? I've seen the maps that a few of the mongers have made book marking locations in Bali. I'm mainly interested in bars where you could take a girl out for ST or LT and grab drinks with them.

Go back thru the posts and you will see lots of advice about getting out of Nusa Dua. If you are visiting for a vacation with friends / family, you are going to have a rough time. You are a long way from any hunting grounds, and while taking a girl back to the Hilton should not be a problem, you will probably have to figure out a way to get her out of the Hilton, because taxis will be expensive and it's about a 30 minute ride to anywhere. You might consider getting a "second home" in Kuta. That's been the standard recommendation, TTG

I guess it's about a 4 star hotel with a lot of individual "cottages" so you don't need to walk through the main lobby if you have your key with you. Bear in mind though that SHE can walk out as un-noticed as you both walked in! Lock up everything before you bring anyone home. It's only walking distance from many fishbowls which mostly have rooms attached for ST use anyway. You are likely bringing a 2 star girl back to a 4 star hotel so be careful. Typical ST rates are around 200, 000 Rupiah $20 but I doubt you would get a LT girl for under $100 although I have never tried. Maybe TTG or JustBlue could help on this point. There are certainly some better looking freelancers in Kuta / Legian at places like Crusoes Bar but don't expect to take them back to Sanur for much under 1. 5 million ($150) and there's no hope of getting them ST for $20!
Find Barri's map here, study it and print it out (assuming you are alone!) Start with one or two fishbowls before experimenting further. Don't carry more than you can afford to lose although it's not likely. Leave the smartphone and laptop in the room safe and take out say$100 for the evening. You can pay the girl in the morning if it's LT.

The only thing I learnt of any value from this book was the story of an unfortunate local taxi-driver who accidentally side-swiped a bule on a scooter in the dark. He immediately put the injured man in the back seat and headed for the best hospital only to find that they wouldn't treat him without a credit card that could be charged for medical services.

Totally different from our privileged lives in our own countries. My GF in the Philippines has a number of small businesses. Her uncle who handles her rural interests in the country (provinces) was severely injured needing an emergency operation. His wife called and my GF had to take the 6 hour taxi ride to hand the cash to the hospital and the doctor and then buy the drugs for the operation. She then had to "supervise" the nurses in recovery as there is a practice of only using part of the (pre-purchased) drugs and reselling to others wanting to purchase similar drugs at cheaper prices.
This, however is totally different to her experience using the private system. She recently had a mole removed and the doctor was trained in the UK and interned in the US. The hospital was brilliant and the after surgery care was far better and incredibly cheaper than I could expect here in Australia. I know this is a thread on Bali but the health systems are similar throughout the third world. If you can pay it is brilliant if you can't you'll probably die.

I really appreciate all the help. I got to rethink my strategy about my next destination perhaps. I actually have the map bookmarked on my computer. I was hoping to stay at the Hilton because I had so many Hhonors points, enough for a bunch of free rooms. I suppose I can save them and use it for Hong Kong or Thailand. With prices going up everywhere, it's very depressing. Perhaps I'll go back to what I know best and hit up Angeles in the Philippines again?
What I loved about Angeles and Thailand was being able to drink and party with the girls beefore we got down to business and a fairly inexpensive price.

Location : 11x (first visit). Jalan Danau Poso, Sanur.

Eventually got 250, 000 including room, the same as a visit to 18x last year, but was kicking myself for forgetting to do as advised, of handing him the 200, 000 without a word once the Girl showed up and going for Jalan Jalan if he objected to that.
May check out 11x again, but it depends on the response next time. 200, 000 and no more, next time.
If not, will Jalan Jalan at other X houses nearby in curiosity. Plenty more fish in the sea, in Sanur.

Actually, the correct name is Aman Kuta Hotel Karaoke & Spa, and it is indeed a knocking shop.
When you enter the grey building (without any signboard saying 'Aman Kuta Hotel' above the entrance; the small electronic signboard says only 'Angel Bali') , you find a long reception desk in the lobby. Immediately to the right of this desk is the entrance to the Aman Kuta Hotel Spa. Inside you find a small fishbowl with a number of girls in blue uniform with short skirts and noticeable make-up.
I picked Amy, 21, from Jakarta, and went into a VIP room (220 k for 1 hour) and undressed naked. The massage was fairly good, but indicated no extras. After 1 hr Amy said:

First of all, a thousand thanks for your map. Without it, none of this could happen.
11x was for me without a doubt the better room. Being able to see what is going on, was helped much by the bright lightbulb and white walls which made things 'feel' fresher and cleaner psychologically at least, if perhaps no more than that. It may depend on what room is available at the time of a visit, though. Mine was the first one on the left that he came to once leading me back from the 'reception' as such. Plus, it had the horizontal mirror at a good level beside the bed (great for perverts like myself).
10x appeared to have a multitude of rooms but the one he led me to was dimmer in light overall and had darker walls than the 11x room, plus it had a bit of a mozzie issue (discovered just after leaving, with two bites on my ass which didn't help the overall mood after a forgettable session) and the bathroom was a bit grubby in comparison to the 11x room. 10x also had a mirror but at the back of the room and was very low down. Both guys at 10x & 11x who met me were friendly (as was younger one at 18)
On a side note, although I pondered if it would just be simpler to take a Girl from 18 and use the short time hotel at 67x, now it comes to memory from last year that room in 18 ST Hotel was quite a dark affair. It was a very new looking building and a clean room, but once curtains were drawn it was a case of pin the tail on the donkey almost as it had a very mute lightbulb with a red tinge. Eventually my eyes adjusted, but still meant missing out on some visuals really. Although clean, it was not good for lighting.

Are you sure about the name? I remember this signboard (attached pic) from December last year, and I interprete 'BALINESE SPA' as information on category, not the name of the place.
