What say you?While I would rate Jakarta above Bali for mongering reasons, IMHO you should still go to Bali even if it's just for a couple of days. Bali is one of the truly special places on earth and there are several reasons why it is the #1 tourist destination in East / South-East Asia.

It's always good to go on a recce for pussy. There's a "fast food" outlet just North of Sanur that needs checking out. Maybe some of the locals can tell me about it. Maybe not. It was mentioned in the press a fair while back. And I have heard that there are chicks around. It has a few fairy lights around it and is called Ramos Cafe. It's on the main coast road in Padang Galak area, beach side of the road. Check Google Maps for "Ramos Cafe, Kesiman Kertalangu" for the exact location and a photo.

You will pass the work area with all cars under maintenance parked, keep walking to the back and you'll see the entrance. They have 3 packages:
Normal at 300.000 IDR, Special at 360.000 IDR and VIP at 400.000 IDR. The difference between them was that "Normal" is just an erotic massage with HJ, I forgot the added value for Special but VIP was where the girl went topless and puts her tits in your face.
All in all: only so-so recommended. I have cross-checked with some (Indonesian) friends who all gave me similar comments: too many rules, too many extra charges. I picked the VIP package, the girl (that they select for you, no pictures beforehand) came to the room wearing only a bikini. Her name was Ratu and claimed that she was 19 (checked her DOB and she answered correctly and fast enough for me to believe it), was chubby bordering on fat but had a pair of amazing tits. As in seriously huge, strong, not dropping, simply amazing. From there it all went downhill. She asked me to fully undress and lay down, where she started her "massage", which was simply pressing on certain body parts for 20 minutes, nothing erotic either. During the conversation in the room it came to light that those prices earlier were fixed by the spa. If the meeting is outside the price is of course negotiable. Took her number and chatted with her on whatsapp a few days later, arranged to come to her kost (small room in a shared apartment building) at 300.000 IDR for FS, as long as I wanted and as many shots as I wanted. Went over in the evening, a regular Indonesian Kost, nothing fancy but had AC and hot water. She was very happy and very obliging during the session. For me not worth it for a simple b2 be massage even if it includes FS. Prices are the same for Indonesians and Bule. The original package was okay but the qualities of girls were hit and miss.
Maharani: We have arrived at my favourite! I always went to the one on Gatsu Barat, 350.000 IDR for a body to body massage where you can touch the girls wherever you want. FS was about 150.000/200.000 depending on the mood of the girl. Repeated a few times with the same girl which were in the end basically full on sex sessions, forgetting about the massage all together.
The dating apps and websites I have tried and found it too time consuming, having to keep focused on your phone or laptop, I prefer to go out and meet people so I gave up on those pretty fast.

Yeah that is a compelling argument. To be in Indonesia and not visit Bali for just a couple hundred bucks does reek of blasphemy.
Finding some action there so we are not spinning our wheels is really just the icing on the cake.
From RTFF it seems the Kuta area is where the club action and thus freelancers operate.

To get an idea have a look at agoda.com , enter a town like Ubud or Lovina and list the hotels from low price to high. You don't usually need to book on weekdays but sometimes it's a good idea at weekends when many people from the south may go north. Usually can find a nice AC room around 300,000. (I like Rini Hotel in Lovina at about 300,000, near to the beach) and Made (Maday) behind the desk can fix a nice visitor to relieve your tired bones!
There is no need to book more than 1 or 2 nights at the start of your trip. This way you can find a better hotel or better location without being locked into a booking. There are hundreds of hotels in Kuta and Sanur. At such an intelligent age you should probably stay in Sanur which you will like a lot more than Kuta unless you like hunting for pussy at 2 or 3 am!! You can always take a cab to Kuta for an evening or ride if you prefer. Only 20 minutes. You will be safe booking Ari Putri Hotel (MUST book) in Sanur for a week to start with..... can extend if you are happy. Also Taman Palem (Palm Garden), Puri Gopa, Watering Hole 2, all around 350,000.
Make sure you bring an International Driving Licence!! (Bring your National Licence too). Without an International Licence you WILL be fined. Even WITH it you will probably be fined for something else! There are many licence checks of motorbike riders.
There is not much action around Ubud but I am willing to be proved wrong! Good Luck!

After all my prep for what's probably my once-in-a-lifetime trip to Bali, I came down with a tourist bug and wasn't up to much in the way of mongering. (Apparently, a traveler's bug trumps Viagra in those of us over 65.).

In my weakened state, I simply wasn't up for all that, so I bailed.
The next day, I did an afternoon and evening in Sanur. Rizqi lived up to it's reputation. When I went in, there was only one lady. A bit older and a bit plumper than some of you would prefer, but attractive enough in my book. (The older I get, the younger all the women seem to be.) Am I correct in my reading of your accounts that you usually go bareback? If yes, have you had any issues with diseases? The prices stated in Absolute Sanur X - 3 (revised in 2010) are of course not valid: What was 150 k is now 200 k. What maybe would be interesting to get is an update of the standard of different venues.
Room std:
= Standard: What you can expect: reasonable clean bed, hose shower, fan and a mirror.
- Below standard: dirty sheets or quirky bed, no or small mirror, bad smell.
+ Over standard: AC instead of fan, or big mirror, or proper shower (still cold water.)Instead of one overall standard setting maybe it should be split up, like 'cleanliness', 'bed', 'shower', 'A/C or fan', 'light' etc.
Actually the printed maps are a bit obsolete, since there is a way to print out portions of the BMM. Anyway, both the Sanur map and the Padang Galak (made by Aussie Fella) map are here.

First, I did RTFF; but only found bits and pieces of what I am looking for, and nothing very recent. I am, for context, an experienced monger of venues around the world. My strong preference is for long time / all night sessions with freelancers. I LOVE discos, clubs, and loud music, those are not issues. I'm in my 40's, look younger, so can pull off some clubs. I may do some trolling for tourists, as I like to mix it up on my trips, but, that not the staple of what I am looking for.

Have had great luck with Fiipina Cupid- and see there is an Indo version. So, that is one option. Do those of you who know Kuta and surrounding areas have any ideas for what I am looking for? Would hope to pay under 1 mi, but willing to go more for hotties for all night, if that is what it takes. Discos? Clubs? Ect ect.

Your best bet for free lancers would be Sky Garden, a very big place with lots of variety. Also mint nightclub has lots of high end FL. A bit more expensive thou. Generally all night spots have them cruising around but these two places are my favorite.

First report on ISG and it comes from Bali.
Just got to Kuta yesterday (where I'm staying for a week) and it's overcast so an extended period of time on the beach doesn't sound as great as it did initially. Headed to Angel Salon today and had a shitty experience.

I've been looking back through the years of posts on here and I think I may have found a new place, as it doesn't seem to have been mentioned before and isn't on the map. This is No. 57 Jalan Danau Poso. It's next to a new large white commercial building with a few shop fronts in it. I only found it because, just after I'd walked past, an old ibu asked me if I wanted a massage. I said no, of course. Not from her, but then she said it would be from a 19 year old, which got me more interested. She took me down a lane and through a gate in the wall and there was a building with a few blokes sitting outside. She went and spoke to one of them who jumped on a bike and sped off. She then took me inside and said the girl would be there in a few minutes. Sure enough, a reasonably attractive girl (not nineteen, bit mid twenties) was delivered shortly. The ibu asked me to pay 400,000 to an old bloke who was the boss, and then they left me with the girl. There was a shower room in the back and the room was air-conditioned. Sex was good. Probably this is due to the new map format in Google. One is supposed to be able to switch back to Classic format, but that is probably only for viewing on your own computer. The link you send to Taurich is probably default for new map version, which Taurich can't handle. I have no solution, sorry.

Well with the ever increasing value of land in Bali, Sanur is clearly not immune to this. As such the leases on 89 x and 88 x in Jl Betngandang 2 have been cancelled.
The buildings are already coming down, talk of a hotel being built, yawn.
Still the street has its 4 bars, and there are rooms available further down on the left towards Jl Danau Poso, the number of the place escapes me.
Always used to enjoy the fishbowl activity from 89 X as I drank a beer in Mama Dewi's and watched the girls come and go.
88 is I think relocating to Jl Sekar Waru, to take over a local bar that was half way down on the left.

ISG is blocked by some ISPs, but BMM is a Google map (Google blocked only in China). So you just need to bookmark the url to BMM in your portable device and you will be OK.

ChuckPup, kudos for willingness to tread new paths, but are you sure the number is 57? Any other landsmarks, such as shop names or restaurants or bars nearby? 400 was a bit steep; you should have a Finder's Fee.
88 is I think relocating to Jl Sekar Waru, to take over a local bar that was half way down on the left.That could be no 23 X, old Warung Nyuh? (the one that Merrman asked about in a custom thread about half-a-year ago).

Yes, I realised that 400 was above normal, but there were too many middle men (and women) involved. And I was too horny to haggle!

There is no markings on the ST Hotel complex that I recall but I'll have another look.
Unfortunately I'm back to Australia today for 3 weeks so maybe someone else can confirm.
But the No 57 is clearly visible from Danu Poso.
The ST complex, you can't miss it.
As you enter the gang from Danau Poso you will walk straight into it.
The gang / laneway where the kost is off to the LHS from the ST complex.
Oh, I see now. What I thought was a driveway is actually a gang next to 57. The building I was in is directly behind No. 57, and 57 is the building the Dayspa Glo is in. I don't think they got the girl from a kost further down that particular gang though, as I'm pretty sure the guy on the bike went out the front of the gang onto Jalan Danau Poso and, while he was quick, he was longer than it would have taken just to go down the gang and back.
While I think of it too, I should also report that the Ari Putri hotel in Sanur is not girl friendly. I tried to take a lady back there one night and the security guard would not let her in. A real shame since its such a good hotel in every other way. But perhaps it's because its small and family owned? Maybe I need to try a bigger hotel next time? I was thinking maybe the Mercure? Or are there any other hotels in that part of Sanur anyone can recommend?

Well after my first trip to Bali I have to say I had a good time.
I stayed at Amadea Resort & Villas Seminyak Bali and this place is definitely girl friendly. The staff were excellent (I'm not a yobbo) and can not recommend this place highly enough.

Tagged was certainly initially hard for me to use. I'm married so I'm a little concerned about my profile as it picked up on where I live. I would certainly be careful with that if you're married and would like to stay that way.
I have never used Tagged before and to be honest still not really sure how much money people actually pump into it. Googling for the best way to use it in multiple different ways didn't turn up a short step 1, then step 2 style guide. Visit in 3rd week of December. Can confirm freelancers are (still) available in Paddies and Skygarden. The going rate was 700 k to 1 mill. Idr for ST. Yes, take a few minutes to read the forum and you'll find, for example:
#1 - many recent posts have included up-to-date prices. Please don't overpay.
#2 - hit or miss as to whether or not the girl allows photos, totally depends on the girl. Some girls might say yes to a photo but only if you don't include their face if they are nude, while others will immediately strip naked and strike several poses.
#3 - 3-hole girls are out there but are not that common, and yes you'll probably have to pay extra if the girl does agree to doing so. Again, totally depends on the girl; many Indonesian girls would refuse to do it even if you offered a large tip, but some might be tempted if the money is big enough.
#4 - considering that most hotel safes are installed directly into a wall, I doubt if you'll pick up any working girl in Bali who has the strength to pull the safe out of the wall and walk away with it. Seriously, you should take basic security cautions (as you should anywhere) but the chances of getting roofies in your drink is pretty small.
#5 - don't know this particular hotel but most hotels in Bali are guest-friendly.

Room std:
= Standard: What you can expect: reasonable clean bed, hose 'shower', fan and a mirror.
- Below standard: dirty sheets or quirky bed, no or small mirror, bad smell.
+ Over standard: AC instead of fan, or big mirror, or proper shower (still cold water.)Of course you cannot compare ST rooms with rooms in normal hotels. An ST room would not even get a single star on the normal scale. So below that 'normal' scale is the ST room scale.
The room in 57 had air-conn, big mirror along the bed, bath room where the shower actually worked and the bed sheets seemed clean.
I found a picture I took at 3B Sekar Waru a year ago: small room, fan (no air-conn), no mirror and a hose in the bathroom. And the bed not particularly inviting. So this is the other end of the ST room scale. Probably a double minus in Barri's scale. (I have to admit I passed on this one, in combination with the girl that was offered.).
Actually I don't know if there is any reason to have a rating for the ST rooms; mongers don't seem to care much. 2. You are correct in your assumption. I have not tried the one on Jl Mertanadi, I actually lived very nearby and had a bit of a distinctive car thus did not want to risk being spotted going in.
3. Was a place near the Gangsa hotel, I'm not too great to explain locations, but I believe it was on Jalan Tirta Akasa. It was actually the girl that showed me the place. I say this as someone who (hands up) screwed up visiting one of the Sanur joints the first time, by doing things with payment in such a way that as I stated it was 200 to the guy it must have come across as somehow giving him an option to try for more so it ended up as a haggle situation which brought it down to 250. On the next visit, I simply handed the guy in a different Sanur joint 200 in a silent matter of fact manner which was not open to negotiation. No words exchanged, as had been instructed to me by forum members. It is a subtle but very significant difference in how you come across to them, and from that point on I always always paid 200 on visits to Sanur joints. Nobody tried to charge me more. On visits to Angel Salon I had to haggle twice, but always got my way in the end. In Sanur joints, 200. End of.
If you did happen to do things in that manner at 57 and they still insisted on 300, then I say walk. Easier said than done I know if you are absolutely set on unloading into a particular Girl that caught your eye, but it is all about feigning. If they sense that you are desperate, they'll exploit that. If you are willing to walk and get pussy cheaper elsewhere, they'll get the message. Attempt one can be excused as a trail run error. On your second visit there is no excuse for paying more than 200.

I spent most of my time on my maiden voyage to Indonesia in Jakarta but skipped out a few days to Bali.
I mean for $89 round trip why not?
Accommodations: Due to the vibrant atmosphere we decided to stay in Kuta. Wingman and I had the bluebird drop us off in the center while we went scouting hotels that would suite our needs.
First things first they were cheap. I think it could have been a combination of rainy season and competition but they were much cheaper and nicer than most places in good old Jakarta.
We stayed at two different places. The final spot was on poppies II. We both got decent huge ass rooms for about $27 USD.
Ambiance: Nice. In the day time its a typical touristy destination. Very walkable, good food, places to shop.) The tourists seem to lean on the younger single side. Few families, newlyweds or nearly dead spotted.
At night the club scene is a bit on the wild side. Me being in my late 30's and my friend in his late 50's it wasn't for us. I did go into a few to see if I could score a tourist but no such luck. Tons of shit faced youths running around from club to club and locals trying to take advantage one way or another. Witnessed a few people getting dragged into cars, a couple fights, and all the typical shit you expect to see around drunk and high party goers. Another Kuta staple are the taxis constantly beeping at you or slowing down to offer you a ride. They do this while you are tying your shoe laces, picking your nose, taking a nap, or whatever you happen to be doing besides asking for one.

The problem with the NFL is it starts at 2 am and goes until around 11 am. Most bars are closed when the NFL games are being played. And the few that are open will only be showing one game - the one that happens to be on ASN at the time. You will also find that if there is a soccer game going on at the same time, they will show that rather than the NFL game. I watch the games in my hotel room on the internet via NFL Gamepass.

The X houses in Sanur, Bali are easier to find than I had thought, given what I had read earlier on ISG. I visited 4 different X houses, none of them were dumps, and 3 of the 4 featured mainly young girls (early 20s).
There are two main north-south roads in Sanur, Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai which is the main multi-lane road that carries most of the through traffic, and a narrower one-lane-in-each-direction road (Jalan Danau Poso which becomes Jalan Danau Tamblingan) which forks off of the main road at the southern end of Sanur, and then essentially runs parallel to the main road, just off of the beach. Most of the X houses were on Jalan Danau Poso.
Summary of my visit here:
I had a taxi drive me around to three different places, # 67x and # 29x on Jalan Danau Poso, and Dian Ayu off of the main road. In each place, I decided to not take a girl at that time, and ended up having the taxi drop me off at the On-On Bar. I had a beer at the bar, then walked back up the road, ending up having a decent session at # 67x. While walking up the road, I walked past # 29x and discovered # 101x on my own.
My decent session at # 67x was with Icha, 20 years old, very pretty face, a bit shy, much larger than normal breasts (firm/no kids), not GFE, decent BJ skills, tight, had only worked there a short while, from Bandung in West Java. 200,000 rupiah plus a 50,000 rupiah tip.
A quick overview:

The price quoted was 300,000 rupiah when the taxi brought me there, then later on the price was only 200,000 rupiah when I walked in on my own. Rooms are in villas around the courtyard, fairly new and very clean. I ended up having a session here (see above).
# 29x, theres a lit-up black and white sign at beginning of alley. Once you go down the alley, theres an open large pavilion-type room, with one meter tall walls and then straw mats hanging down from the ceiling to block the view from outsiders until you walk behind the mats. The room is a open-fish-bowl set-up with at least 20 girls sitting around, most appeared to be in early 20s. The price quoted was 300,000 rupiah when I arrived with a taxi, I did not stay.
# 101x, the entrance is directly on the roadside, with 15/20 girls right inside in the front yard and front room. A couple of girls were standing at the front door and it was obvious what was going on here. This place is directly across from the Orange Mini-Mart convenience store. The price quoted was 250,000 rupiah when I walked in on my own, I did not stay as I was heading over to # 67x, but this place would have been my second choice in case # 67x didnt work out.
On-On Bar, a low key, neighborhood bar with pool tables, cute bar girl employees, a couple of free-lance hookers in their 30s dressed in black, most customers are European or Aussie men.
Heres the trick on getting the best house price:
I learned that the rate quoted will be lower if you walk in rather than if a taxi brings you in. For example, at # 67x, I was quoted 300,000 rupiah when I came with a taxi. When I returned later, walking in, the rate had dropped to 200,000 rupiah. So, I recommend that you take a taxi to either the On-On Bar or the Orange Mini-Mart, then make your way on foot to the three places.
Dian Ayu I also was taken by the taxi driver to a 4th place which was off the main north-south road (rather than the parallel beach road). It is known as Dian Ayu and had at least 20 girls, all of whom appeared to be over 30 years old, many with visible mileage on their faces and bodies. Not surprisingly, these girls were the most aggressive. After I saw the line-up and said Id leave, some of the girls came up to me to flirt with me and grab my crotch, etc. Although there were one or two decent choices here, I personally would not return here, no point in doing so when the other 3 places all have lots of younger, prettier girls to choose from.I'm doing something here that I've never done before on ISG, which is that I'm quoting one of my own reports from June 2008. The Sembawang Banjar that control the Danau Poso area have clamped down on operating hours lately. Bars are supposed to shut at 1. 00 am but the On On seems to stay open a bit longer.
Angels Bar, beside the On-On was recently closed down by the Banjar, not sure why, or if it has re opened.

101 X has closed down.
Dian Ayu no longer has any girls hanging around, but you can BYO and have a room for 80 k / hour.

As my name implies, I'm based in Thailand and quite experienced there. That forum seems to be in "been there and done that mode" for most members so I'm not so active on it now. Bali is on my list and I'll arrive in the next 10 days or so. I have been to Jakarta twice but never Bali. I researched extensively and was nearly swayed to do Jakarta again by Psychman's great report in ROD. However I am staying on course for Bali because of Barri's unbeatable monger map and all the details that you post here that support the map. I salute you. I expect this will be a balancing act between over planning and what's been described as "a steep learning curve". I'll list key points that I've gathered and PLEASE comment as you see fit. I'll also ask for some clarification here and there.
I'm in my 60's and reasonably good shape. I have decided to stay in Sanur and it looks like a new place called Nesa Sanur is where I'll book. At least to start. I'll have about 2 weeks or so for this adventure so I'm open to a move or 2.
FREELANCE, I like a freelance scene. For clubbing it looks like Jenga and Mint are at the high end and Skygarden might be the sweet spot for choice as it is a big complex with multiple bars. I pretty much want to go home by 12 or 1 am so maybe this is not for me. As for music, I could sometimes be the poster git for "There's No Fool Like an Old Fool" I'm trying to quit. HumanI agree with Freezone's recommendation, the Hyatt in Sanur is 5-star and family friendly, and it's a short walk to the On-On Bar and the various X-houses discussed here. I stayed at the Hyatt in 2008 when I wrote the long post that I recently re-posted (see below).
I remember that post, MS; one of the best till then and about a year before I made the first map.
The walk-in price is still 200 k (or rather: it is now 200 k as it was 150 k at that time).
67 X is still active at the bottom of the Circle K lane: you pass the fish bowls 18 an 66 X on the way down.
29 (note: without any X, thus it is not an X-house) is still gong strong: good round-up from 8. 30 - 9 pm and onwards.
101 X has closed down.
Dian Ayu no longer has any girls hanging around, but you can BYO and have a room for 80 k / hour.

Given the recent mentions of the Hyatt Sanur, I feel I should point out that the hotel has been closed to guests for over a year now for major renovations. It was supposed to close for 18 months but its still going to be a long way off.
The work appears to be progressing at an extraordinary slow pace.
If 5 star is your choice maybe try the Fairmont (formerly the Regent), just down the road, and on the northern side of the Hyatt a very interesting looking place, the Maya has recently opened, so options abound.
All in the Monger zone.
The Hyatt Sanur has been out of action for well over 2 years.
The original idea was to renovate but over the last 6 months they have demolished all the main buildings but kept the grounds and gardens in tact.
It is at least 3-4 years away from being a operating hotel again.
There are options The Fairmont but pricey The Taksu although rated as 3 star is only 18 months old and good value.
Most hotels in Bali are running at around 30% occupancy rate so most are keen to deals.

I'm in my 60's and reasonably good shape. I have decided to stay in Sanur and it looks like a new place called Nesa Sanur is where I'll book.
For clubbing it looks like Jenga and Mint are at the high end and Skygarden might be the sweet spot for choice as it is a big complex with multiple bars. I pretty much want to go home by 12 or 1 am so maybe this is not for me.
I have a Thai license though but no international license so I guess I should rule that out or be prepared to pay regular fines. The clubs you mentioned are in Kuta / Legian / Seminyak and you will be best going by cab. It's 20 minutes and 10 bucks on a good night. From what I have read here they barely get going by midnight!! I suggest sticking to Sanur. There are quite a few spots to check out but a lot less freelancers than those clubs. You will be better off renting a scooter around Sanur for sure. Be prepared for the odd 5 or 10 dollar fine (mostly outside of Sanur). To be honest. It's hard to beat having a session at a fishbowl and then a pleasant evening at a bar / restaurant with some live music, cold beer and good company. Most expats are pretty friendly as long as you don't knock their beer over! I have rarely seen any FL's early in an evening and often none even later in the evening. If unlucky you should still be able to find some action at midnight at the fishbowls. Most places close around midnight-1 am. By scooter you can cruise the 4 km strip and stop at anywhere that looks lively.

After being "closed down" about 5 weeks ago for various reasons depending on who you talk to, Angels has just re-opened in a new location in Jalan Sekar Waru with many of the old staff. Much quieter street so better "ambience" but a bit less "action" to look at. Oh, by the way, there is the well known 3 B knocking shop right next door so who knows what may transpire given some time!I heard it was relaunching in that locations and thought that I'd check it out when I'm there next week. I can only hope they improve the music they play as the god-awful shite they played at the old place eventually drove me away. If I want to hear doof-doof crap I'll go to a nightclub.

My guess is that the reason of your confusion is that you can't read properly. Most people can see the difference between a bar and a spa. Only one letter is the same. What has been reported is that Angel's Bar has relocated to Jl Sekar Waru 3 B (which thus is not BBB but the house number 3B).

Angel Salon (not Angels Spa!), which is probably the venue you are asking about, can, like most venues, best be found by using Barri's Bali Monger Map.
I hope that when you later write your report you are able to use and spell all names correctly. That helps a lot for other mongers!

"Spa" is a bit of a misnomer really as the only water in the place is the stuff from the hose for washing willies etc with! It is at the underpass in Kuta 100 m past the Harley Davidson dealership. You pass it on your left as you take a cab from the airport to Sanur (or Kuta / Legian / Seminyak). If it's between about 10.30 am and 10.30 pm you can get the cab to wait half an hour or so and have a hot session. Maybe try Irma or Arrin for starters. Just give the cabbie an extra 100,000 for his time. Saves a trip all the way back from Sanur after unpacking! Also, Mawar is next door. Same deal.

A little feedback on my recent trip to Bali.
A fantastic time which would not have happened without Barri's incredible map, a little support and wise counsel from Merrman, and of course a lot of RTFF. That alone was enjoyable in whetting my appetite for the trip.
As an over-age, long time retired, overweight and relatively unhealthy once biker, now travelling alone, the main point of the trip was a holiday and any mongering would be icing on the cake. My only experience in the past has been a couple of weeks in Thailand before which this forum came to my attention.
I decided to try and tour the island on one of those Asian wonders, the Honda Vario 125 at just under 60 k a day. Whether my negotiating skills were good or bad to bring it down to that level I have no idea.
I started in Kuta and thanks to Barri, quickly found Onasis.
Was lectured by the receptionist about pacing myself as I would only be allowed one shot which would automatically terminate the visit. The charge was 1,500 k. There seemed no opportunity for discussion. It was a fairly one sided conversation. I think I just said yes.
I was invited into the fishbowl to choose the girl, for an almost first timer a relatively stressful task.
I had once before in Chiang Mai faced the same task and chosen badly taking a gorgeous young lady who appeared in retrospect to have little interest in me. Needless to say she was as uninterested in the bedroom as out of it.
I chose Puna who, while I might not have looked at her twice in the street, had a lovely smile and was waving to attract my attention. While certainly not overweight she was slightly heavier and maybe older than most of the girls. I would guess early 30's and in my books a 7 ½.
We bathed in a big round tub and spent an enjoyable 15- 20 minutes stroking and getting to know one another.

Met this Surabaya beauty last night at Sky Garden. She wanted $200 for all night which I flat out rejected but we exchanged numbers as she has a good sense of humor plus she seemed like fun with good English. Just for comparison.

I would also be interested in his assessment of Riverside Spa if he decides to go. I live within a five minute walk to the place but due to recent negative reviews and their increased pricing structure, I decided not to pay a visit for the time being. I think that I read the negative reviews on a separate forum after I googled the name to find its precise location. The facility itself appears first class but a poster lamented both the increased price (from last year) and diminished service.

I 'm sorry to disappoint guys I did not go to Riverside, I wish I had. I intended to go there towards the end of the trip but got minorly crocked and gave up mongering. I did go to Delta Spa. I had read on other blogs rather than ISG what a great place it was.
Flash entrance and off road parking area. I was offered three choices at USD 85,100 or 110. There seemed to be little difference although the receptionist did not go into great detail. She kept pointing to the $110 and VIP room with separate bath and shower and the 'Special Treatment' at this price.
I agree to pay the $110 and asked to pay in local currency which turned out to be IDR 1,580,00 or about £80 , thus giving a $/£ rate of about 1.37, strange with the real rate at 1.55 . Still in for a penny.
I was shown to changing rooms, fitted out better than the finest golf club I have ever been to, and I have been to some good ones. Two young men hovered while I changed into the proffered shorts and skimpy dressing gown, which was no way going to fit around my body, and then ushered me through a spa area, 2 big baths apparently and then into a lounge, wall size TV, lots of arm chairs & tables, a really nice waiting area. A hostess offered me a drink while I waited for my room, so I accepted an orange juice and was then told it was not included in the price and was to be paid separately for at the end.
I was not even halfway through the drink when I was told my room was ready, so I was ushered through curtained corridors to a curtained doorway. My masseuse was waiting on her knees in the doorway- A nice touch, but no choice of masseuse.
Let me now say that you can tell from the tone of this epistle that I was not enamored of Delta, but this in no way reflects on the young lady. Her name was Wi-Wi (I think) (anyway it amused me). She was very attractive, a good 8 ½ at least for me, and from Jakarta. Unfortunately she spoke only a word or two of English. The room was in two parts with a straight-forward mattress on the floor and then behind it a wet room with a waist-high massage table with some sort of shower device above it.
Wi-Wi gave me a really nice, medium strength, back arm leg and head massage, taking her time, laughing as she 'clicked' my finger joints. Every few minutes her hands would stray groinwards I guess to keep me interested and stop me falling asleep. She never came close enough for me to really touch her and indeed for a while I was not entirely sure what she was or, more importantly, was not wearing. She certainly sat on my legs and bottom quite a lot and rubbed her panty clad crotch along my legs and buttocks. It transpired that she had never taken any clothing at all off, wearing a nice short skirted orange suit. She didn't even take the jacket off, nor gave any indication that it were possible to do so.
After the back massage she moved me to the wet room lay me on the massage bed in there, on my back, gave me a cursory chest and stomach massage and a very acceptable but standard happy ending. She allowed me to hold her thigh and even move my hand up to her pantie covered bottom (at least two layers) , possibly to encourage me as I was fairly slow to react.
After the fun was finished she started up the very fierce shower arrangement horizontal with my torso after first protecting my face and groin from the fierce spray.
It was different!
She then washed me down with a regular shower head and soaped my body. She even washed my hair. She looked a little put out as I jokingly took the spray head and threatened to soak her. Had I done so I still don't think she would have taken her clothes off!
I dressed thanked her and she escorted me (politely rather than effusively) back to the lounge where my two young male helpers escorted me back to the changing room. I guess at that stage I could have asked to use the two big spa baths off the lounge. I never saw anyone using either of them.
There were boxes all round the changing rooms for notes to be slipped into for a tip.
I took my locker key back to the reception desk and told them that I had two complaints. Firstly the noise while I was being massaged was sometimes really bad, people chatting and laughing, a tray dropping. It would probably have helped had the room a proper door rather than a curtain, I am not even sure in retrospect whether the wall went right up to the ceiling. Anyway the last thing you want when getting any form of massage is distracting ambient noise. I also complained that I did not believe I was given a VIP room as it had no bath at all. Suddenly the two receptionists did not seem to speak or understand any English. –Until they realized that I still owed them 38 k for an orange juice!
I would never go back and I hope that WiWi finds herself in a better place sometime.
Sorry this has been a long diatribe without a lot of action. My next couple of trips get better again.

One thing I forgot to mention in the report on Delta that I was actually in there for almost 2 ½ hours. It was a good long massage.
I visited the Maharani in Kerobokan (off Sunset Road). Thank you Barri.
Went too far up the side road at first before coming back down and seeing an advertising poster on the side of the road by a little lane. It was actually just a few yards up this side road.
Two fairly attractive receptionists told me that the massage would be 350 k and then showed me a series of photos on a screen of a dozen or so girls. They then culled them down to 4 or 5 that were actually there on the premises. I did not get the impression that either of the receptionists were available. I asked in the end for the girl that spoke the best English so they introduced me to Tia. Slightly older and heavier than I probably would have chosen but turned out to be a lot of fun.
She took me to a fairly dark room (red light bulbs) mattress on the floor, faux mosquito making it look like a fourposter. Not an unattractive room with a shower room attached. This was one of Merrman's tips – Hotel Rini in Lovina. Delightful hotel, nice rooms good pool and beautifully placed in one of the two busiest roads for Restaurants and Bars. A nice town with plenty of live music bars, shops and even Dolphin watching trips in the Bay, if you were prepared to meet at 6 am.
Merrman mentioned that Made would provide girls but by the evening of the second day the only staff I had met were ladies, (the charming owner I think?) girl waitresses and one young lad manning the night desk. Leaving the hotel about seven to go for a dinner I saw the young lad ushering an attractive looking girl (I assumed a WG) towards the rooms.
Having eaten dinner I returned about 9 to pick up my Scooter key from the room before I went off to a music bar and saw the young lad again now on reception. I asked him if a girl similar to the one that I saw him with earlier was easy to find? Was there a bar or something where I could meet girls? His English was very limited and I went back to my room to pick up the scooter key resigned to driving round the bars looking for FL. I was not particularly hopeful in a small town like Lovina.

I was put off that the Villarossa, an absolutely fabulous hotel, seemed to be almost entirely staffed by ladies except for the pool cleaners who spoke no English at all. I was also the only person staying at the hotel for the whole 3 days I was there, so I knew that they would all talk about me, not that that should have put me off.
Anyway one last report to come and that I am afraid will be entitled 'the one that got away'. You may not wish to bother to read it!

Price info may useful for a new guy who has never been to *wherever* before, but anyone who thinks we have any real influence on price setting is delusional. In the Jakarta thread, there seems to be a general upward trend in prices at BATS or wherever and that's newsworthy. The endless harangues about who overpaid or self-congratulations reports about getting a bargain and saved 10 k IDR in Bali or 200 THB in Pattaya are a waste of bandwidth.
Anyway, what I said is "As to reporting, I don't care what you pay or paid -- it's none of my business and prices are the result of thousands of transactions, not just one". That was / is my opinon, in the context of asking posters to tell a story and please spare me all the "just the facts" reporting.

Good to hear your story from Lovina, did she she allow uncovered? I will be there in five weeks (for four days) and do some further investigation and report back too. Should you supply your own if you prefer to cover up (ie they don't have any in their pocket)?
