Surely the age old forces of supply & demand are really at play here. A mediocre chick who starts asking top $ because their friend got that rate is going to be singing for her supper (and she won't be humming waltzing matilda on my ballbag either).
I experienced this with Yanti the hottie where her friend Annie (cute but not stunning) was asking 1M due to her friend being able to command the higher rate. I simply declined the opportunity to spend the subsequent evening with the friend. If the chick is asking a crazy price, either negotation. Or just moving on to another hottie who is not asking the same crazy price should solve the prob.
I must agree with the comments in this thread about choice being in abundance and all this talk about it being hard to find girls being a bit perplexing. I was propositioned in Centro, on the street. On the beach. But chose to spend time with gorgeous girls from the nightclubs. To each, their own. All of that said. If I choose to pay an extra couple of hundred K for the balinese orchestra to play the bed flute concerto in A minor on my favourite friend. Onto more positive news: my little darling is due to arrive in the land of Oz in about 10 days time. Visa logistics are all but done, and all being well the plane tickets will be finalised on Saturday. More updates on romance in an Australian context soon. You will find good girls, bad girls, good bule, bad bule, good & bad people anywhere you go - bali is no exception....but likewise you can find a very rewarding romantic or carnal experience if you use a little intuition, be a little careful - and treat people with decency. The only thing I can suggest is to go to Kuta once of twice, and hope to meet a cutie who doesn't mind the distance. While you are hunting, grab as many phone numbers as you can. Then call them up, and promise them a good return on their investment in travel time, for them to come up and see you. And of course, be prepared to meet her outside the hotel, so you can pay for the taxi, which I would suspect will be about 80K or so.

The last time I was in Bali (about 4 months ago), I thought the pickings were dire. (I must admit that living in Jakarta for so many years has spoiled me.) For my night in Bali, I started out at 11pm and went home at around 4am having visited Paddy's, Embargo and Bounty. The entire night, I only saw about 5 indo girls I would have liked to have taken home. Every one of them was "engaged" however. 2 of those girls were stunners and I would have considered them to be stunners in Jakarta as well. But overall, the pickings were slim, so I can believe that the price of those girls has gone that high in Bali. I wouldn't pay it, but a tourist might. Luckily I had brought my own girl from Jakarta for the weekend.
One thing I found humorous was the number of drunken tourists fondling the lady boys. I have little doubt they did not know those were not really girls. LOL! There were a heck of a lot of Lady Boys in those bars as well. I don't remember there being so many a few years ago.

I remember prior to the single Japanese man coming to Waikiki the prices of an outright princess of the jalan was $50.00 st. Now that the Japanese are here in droves, they will pay $300. + for a blonde and they love to do gang bangs. A group will pay her $1000.00 for 3 or 4 and this is a 1 hour ride total.
Ausi surfers are the least of your worrys. They drink and sing and have fun but they dont have the money for the high end girls. But the Japanese do have the "disposible cash" and spend like crazy.
At first you see the couples from Japan, always shopping and walking around, soon the single more afluent young men will come in groups and the prices will start to rise. More women will come from Java and the law of supply and demand will prevail, that will help keep the price fair but still much more than your used to paying.
We have US Navy Carrier groups dock at Pearl Harbor for leave, 6000 to 8000 sailors hit the streets looking for pussy, and they have a load of money saved up for partying. Girls know the schedule and they fly in from LA and San Francisco to service these sailors. This is when the price skyrockets.
I guess the moral of this story is that "God bless Indonesia" and fuck inflation. get used to paying more as time goes by. And btw it costs me more to have a main squeez, than pick as you go. We cant win so just enjoy what we have.

Smoothy you are right 4 months ago they were in most of the clubs but just recently the mangement of most of the places has put a ban on them. Bounty they have been totally banned out of Mbargo one or two still get in Paddys again one or two get in and in the Dyana Pura strip quite a lot.
The thing I find funny is after a while you can pick them out quite easily and the security let the better looking ones in just to see who they will take home. I have actually talked with some of the security and think it hilarious that some stupid dumb bule has taken a ladyboy home. In Bali just beware they are there although there arent that many stunning ones that you would be confused with. One I saw walking down the street the other day could easily play as a rugby player.
There are plenty of good looking girls around now so just be aware.

Just a quick question to fellow mongers in Bali. On saturday I went to Dyan Ayu with a freind about 11.30 saw a police car going into the street so was a little suspicious. Anyways the whole street was basically not working. Dyan Ayu normally has a stable of at least 40+ girls especially on a saturday night. They had 4 all old and not what I would look at. One of the bosses then told us that the police were cracking down in Sanur at the moment. To thier credit the bosses said they could bring girls and they did go and get three more by motorbike but they too were not up to par.
If the biggest street is being affected like this then I wonder how long it will be for. My friend that I was with went on saturday and sunday and said it was still the same.
Has anyone heard of anything going on with crackdowns in Bali?

Had quite a bit of fun on the weekend... so here goes

Bali massage is more expensive than say Kuta Bugar which is three doors down. The advantages are this...
They have four levels of rooms
1.the normal room just a cutained off area for 100.000rp
2. The deluxe which is a step up from the normal with a shower but very close in for 150.000rp + extras
3. The Superior (My favourite) which is a bigger room with a shower as well as being able to have a jacuzzi and sauna after. A lot more private and easy for a complete session. 170.000rp + extras
4. The superior Deluxe - The same as the superior but with a bath for 190.000rp + extras I think. I have never used it so am unsure of the price
I just prefer it is a little better run. the girls are friendly and the rooms are clean.

I read everybody know about Bali Massage and Kuta Bogar.
In between the 2 there is the KUTA SAUNA
Anybody in Bali know KS, including Balinese man.
As you go in, there is a reception desk where 2 woman will help you to select the girls from pictures.
Girl's quality is better than bali massage and for sure than KUTA TIMUR on the bypass.
The massage is 60/70 k rps per hour plus extra (300 to 600 depends on how you negotiate)
Some of the girls do not do any extra. It happened to me a couple of times in the past.
So just remember to ask what she is willing to do when she brings you to the massage room and if she says no, ask for another girl. (I managed to reject 2 girls one day. first one coz she doesnt want to do any extra, second coz she want me to fuck her but she does not do blow job!)

Police want money so they patrol Sanur hotels.
Girls want money so they go to look for turists in Kuta bars where they can get 2 or 3 times what they usally get in Sanur.
In any case life in Bali is still fantastic!

Just had some days in transit in Bali when going to Dili. Not many places have I seen so persistent touts as in Legian str, quite annoying to walk there at any time. So I rented a motorbike for 3 days, 100 K+ 30 K for insurance and explored the southern part of the island during daytime. I also found out it was convenient when moving around at night time. Traffic can be a bit tense in Kuta area though. But Friday I had recovered from my jetlag and decided to hit the bars.
First I had a look at Bounty and MBargo early in the evening, but almost empty. At Bounty they claimed things started to happen at 11 PM.
I took a look at the clubs around Double 6, but they told it was no action there before 1 AM. A bit late for me really, so I headed back to MBargo which was still empty at midnight. Paddy’s had quite a few girls, and some were good looking. In Bounty there was quite a lot of tourist, but not so many working girls. The 50 K entrance fee for locals probably keep them out from the inner part of the facilities, with foam bath downstairs and some fire show upstairs. However close to the entrance there were a few. And one of them I gave a smile, and the inviting smile back, so I sit down, and she offers herself quite quickly. Has a room nearby where we can go, but I tell here I’m interested in overnight at my room. She has a very cute face, which caught my attention, but could be a bit slimmer. Very small, only 145 cm. I ask her how much and she quotes 500 K, which was what I had planned to pay anyway, so I accepted.
My plan was actually to go back to Paddy’s and try my luck there for the better selection. But typically me, take the easy solution. 25 years old from Yogyakarta, mother of an 11-year old. So I can understand some stretch marks at that size and age. BBBJ as long as I washed my dick first. I had two rounds with her before we went to sleep, very cozy and with soft smooth skin. She had to be at work by 9 in the morning, so had a quick morning fuck as well before she left and went back to sleep.
Advantages disadvantages with your own transport. You have the full flexibility of when and where to move, and you don’t have to pay for more transport (but that benefit is rather small I think). It was very convenient to take the girl on the bike without having to negotiate with a moto guy first. Only suitable for small distances though. A daytime recce is also recommended. There are a lot of one-way streets to confuse the first time visitor. The biggest drawback for some is probably you will have to limit your drinking. It’s a positive side effect there as well. Your capability in bed will be better then. However remember to bring your international driving license. It’s required. I took the chance, but was stopped at a police point in day time. The wanted to fine me 200 K, but I claimed I didn’t have that much on me, and he gave me new price of 150. Didn’t want to push it further so paid and was given a paper, which permitted me to drive without the license until my departure. It wasn’t such a bad deal at all.
Will stop in Bali on my way back, and I’m looking forward to do the whole thing again.

I know all about the bars on the main stretch and near 66, but do you guys consider Hard Rock centre stage to be a place to meet working girls? Is it a place to meet them without having to wait till 11pm/12/1 am?

A great place to meet tourist girls from all over the world. many girls from Japan, China, Thailand, Aussi, and yes Indos usually from Java that are visiting Bali. But the working girls usually are not in the Hard Rock. Take an afternoon nap and save yourself for the late nighters. Thats when they really come out on the hunt.

I have been around in Indonesia for about 1 week.
In Ubud I found only drinking bars where you can drink with girls and usually there is only 1 girl in the club who is possible to have sex with.
No good looking girls and expensive.

Have dozens of hot girls working.
You have to pay a sitting fee so she can waste your drinks and you can negotiate a deal with her. The problem is the deafening music makes it hard to talk. Also the girls cannot leave with you until 2-3AM after their shift.
Also it's very dark in these clubs, so check the girls out carefully before buying them.

Dick1 if you go to Balinese Massage close to Kuta Bugar then you will find a few cute girls. Try number 88 if she is there.
As to Paddys, it is right in front of the Bounty nightclub, you were probably there and didnt notice. You are right about the choices being all over the place but I would suggest that you look at MBArgo from 12.30 until 1.30, thats when the better lookers tend to go out. Sometimes you can be lucky to get a good one in Paddys or Bounty, but it is mainly girls who like surfer types and Aussies.
Other alternatives are, KuDeTa or Hu Bar in Seminyak, the girls are more expensive and harder to get but much better looking. These are girls who love westeners and know how to charge accordingly. Excelent point. Take a cab to "Le Bake Shop", same street, then walk away from the by-pass 50 m, and there it is. (make a right, as you walk out the parking lot of "Le bake Shop".)

Went out round 11, as a friend called me and told me I had to see what was happening at Paddys. I got there about 15minutes later and it was pumping... Try Contiki Hotel they used to be 18 - 35's but that is all changing now and thats in Seminyak www.contiki.com they have a good small gym setup and are close to one of the club strips.

From what I have seen you can still get a girl, just be a little more cautious. Just get your taxi or driver to take you to a place he knows there literally are so many places that you can go to. I think the police are hitting the street that Dyan Ayu is on because everyone goes there but the girls all can be ferried to a different place. Its that or if you go out at night go to Paddys after 10 and the girls will take you to a local cheap hotel that they get for 30k - 50k, dont worry there will be many a chance for you. Another suggestion would be Balinese Massage, I know from experience that full service is available... Just dont ask at the front desk :)

Had been to Padangbai 4 days for diving. Saw both Mola-Molas and Mantas at Nusa Penida, so happy about that part. For girls in Padangbai I will recommend to bring your own. Couldn’t see anything happening there. It’s a small place.
Traffic was crazy when arriving Kuta in late afternoon on Saturday. Crusoe is about 3 minutes walk from MBargo in Jl Legian, you actually pass it first when heading down towards the other clubs. I personally havent been in there as the pr girls totally put me off, they are very pushy and I havent seen a good looking one yet. But hey maybe my taste is different. I visited 4 of them.
The one on Danau Poso is nearly dead because of police . So went on Danau Tempe on the other side of the highway. On the right before the bridge you enter on the side of a small building (notice the motorbikers waiting) and you see small bars. Locals pay 50 000 but gals ask 150 000 to me which is overpriced for the quality. Moreover, during my visit police raided and I was locked in the dark ...
After I crossed the road to the other brothel just after the bridge, one bar on the righthand is cleaner with pattaya type girls but this time I was quoted 300 000 (locals pays around 70 000 there). I found a decent looking about 30 yo for 100 000 in the dark on the right, but the mandi and room were filthy.

My last visit to an outside brothel some km northern of Sanur on a small street along the coast in the fields (called padanggala). Again, notice all the guys on motorbikes as it was very crowded. My conclusion is that locals have very poor needs concerning the beauty and skills of ladies, whats worth the money for them was way overprised for me.

Le Meridien is a bad selection for a hotel, unless you are agolf enthusiast. There is no beach and nothing nearby. For everything you have to go to Kuta, 45 min to 1 hour away. Big nono for girls that you want to bring back to the hotel too. So seriously avoid Le Meridien if you need action other than golf.

During this holy month, what is the atmosphere like on Bali? Wikipedia says that the majority of the island are Hindu. Should I just go to Bali on a different month, rather then in Sept? Can some kind souls direct me to from a landmark such as Bali Beach Hotel? Such as how to get to Danao Poso from my location :D

Stick, if you are on Tamblingan, find the little roundabout. if you have been traveling with the ocean to your left, turn right, as you reach the roundabout. That is Danau Poso. from there, you can just walk into any house with a large X on the wall.
Or better yet, go back a few posts, maybe a page or two, and you will find a map someone posted. Print that up, and have fun.
Don't pay too much, and if you don't like the way the girls look, ask to see some other ones.

If you're in the Jl Double Six area of Legian and need to get the dirty water off your chest, here's a possibility:
Rosalinda Salon & Massage on Jl Nakula. (That's the street Jl Double Six turns into as it crosses Jl Legian, the main road, leading towards Sunset Road.)
It's about 400m on the left from the Legian/Double Six intersection going towards Sunset.
What lifts it out of the downright sleazy, is that it's a two-girl tag team.
Kadek, the older of the two, mid 30s, has been round the block a few times, and Putu is barely out of her teens.

Hire a cab and ask him to take you to check out the brothels in Sanur. Each place should have a dozen girls waiting around all day. The girls here are average looking. You could take a girl all night for about 500K.

Try reading the last three pages it will give you a good idea of what to do in Bali... It is not hard at all to get a girl. Another choice is ask one of the security guards where is a good place to find girls, it is guaranteed they will say, I have a friend and can arrange for you...

It is quite normal in Bali to see the Blind men doing massages. Many of the Hotels have a Blind Man on call or he has a certain time that he is in his

Was in Sanur Bali till 5 Sep. I asked for help earlier and got some kind directions.

I will be going to Kuta on the 26th September and will be staying at Bali Summer Hotel. As this is my first trip to Bali, can anyone recommend places with young and pretty working lady around the area for some actions during the afternoon? Just returned after about a week in the Kuta area, and the place really hasn't changed much in the year and a half since my last visit. Even prices seem to be pretty much steady.
Met up with ProfDesigner and we actually spent quite a bit of time chatting on a number of occasions. He is an excellent host, despite his busy schedule. Not the least of his preoccupations is caused by the many SMS he receives - I could swear his phone beeps at least every 10 minutes, mostly with messages from women.
My report, unfortunately, is going to be short, largely because I did not go to Sanur, and did not even go to any of the clubs. The reason was that I did not need to.
ProfDesigner introduced me to a friend of his girlfriend, and she was with me the first day.
Then, I ran into a seriously beautiful massage girl as I was walking near Kuta Square. I invited her to do the massage in my room, and she agreed. She was 20 years old, a Balinese from the north coast - and married. Her massage was pretty good, but she didn't want to go any farther, a big disappointment. But eventually she agreed to introduce me to some of her friends. The first was a very pretty girl, 24, who worked in a clothing store near Kuta Square. She stayed with me about an hour before heading back to work, and was happy with the 250,000 rupiah I gave her. The second had little knowledge of English so I couldn't figure out what she did - she was not a massage girl, that I know. She too was very pretty, and seemed to have more time than the first girl. So, for the remaining time I was there I used to call her in and then send her back when I was done - also for 250,000.I suppose I could have kept her around, but I preferred wandering around on my own - besides you never know who you might meet.

The Prof had planned to take me to some of Kuta's clubs, but we never got round to it. So, I am sorry to say that in 4 or 5 visits to Bali I have never made it to any of the clubs. Bounty, Paddy, MBargo - just seen them from outside, never been inside. Just goes to show that it is not necessary to be in those clubs to meet someone. I have always done pretty good with girls from the beach, from Sanur, last time from Kuta Square, and a couple of times with the Prof's help.
Unfortnately, I will not be able to provide numbers or locations. The massage girl's husband was getting angtsy the last couple of days, and I decided to cool it. And the other girl did not give me permission to hand out her number. But with a little resourcefulness anyone should be able to take the route I did.

20 million abandoned childern, that parents have died from AIDS by 2010 in So Africa.

1) I found the conversion rate of rupiah to dollars is about 9500 to $1. If correct, some of the posts suggest that ST is about $10. Sounds too good to be true.
2) It may sound silly but what is the general attitude of the locals toward Americans? Friendly? Hostile?
3) Is there still a risk of terror attacks in the area? I still remember the nightclub bombings a while back. Hopefully that has dissapated some.
Any info is much appreciated.....LDP

RLI think HIV is a quite huge and complex subject to be handled like that.
I dont think this is the appropiate part of the forum to talk about HIV and like that.
I believe that everybody in here is quite aware of what is doing and how is he doing.
The purpose of the forum is not to scare people with incomplete and generic informations.
In other terms why post ONLY in the Bali part of the forum a generic warning on Hiv.

Just a couple of comments. I am also not one to enjoy the experience when there are a bunch of people hanging around outside the front of the massage parlors and so I go to one of the other Roselinda massage places. (I believe there are 3? )This one is located on Jl Dyana Pura and has a better than average massage followed by a HJ or BBBJ. Costs are always up to negotiation.
Also I went to the newer Kuta Bugar Jaya on Sunset road. It has been open for 3 months now and is nice and clean. It has the same setup as the rest, with the fishbowl and curtained rooms. I went in at 1030am and found that they do not open until 11am. There were a couple of girls there early and they took care of me. Forgot the number of the girl, but she was a pretty balinese girl who gave a good massage and a HJ. I didn't push for more, but will return again.

In general , I believe you will find that a very nice looking LT will pull about 40$ to 50$ out of your wallet. You can also go to the brothels of Sanur, not the most romantic encounter, and if you pretend to being a regular there, you will be out 20$, however, expect the girl to ask you for a tip within minutes of you starting a session with her. Well anyone that says that Ramadan will stop the girls in Bali has got the wrong information this year. They are coming from Jakarta and other parts of Jakarta for a holiday/money earning break. I have spoken to a least a dozen girls all who are attractive and they have all said they will be be working... One of the funniest ones was when one of the girls said she wont be going to the clubs but hey if I wanted to call her that would be quite alright.

I came through the first time at Christmas 1970. There were probably no more than 25 bules in Kuta then. Rp410 to the dollar, and a night at a losmen was Rp200 with breakfast
I stayed at the Suwardana the first time. It's still there. About 10 years ago I dropped in for a chat. No longer a losmen, just a family home, but outside the room I had occupied were several picture frames containing passport and visa photos of guests from that time. My pic was among them. Young and dumb and full of come.

All three you can have fun... at Kuta Bugar so far I have not been able to convince anyone to have full service in the premises and really would be a little hard. Bali Massage is a definate as well as Kuta Timur. Kuta Timur has the Karaoke section as well as a massage section. The rest is up to your negotiating skills.

Went and had a look about last night to see what is happening. Most places WG wise are definately down on numbers and more are leaving in the next two days :( The good news is there are still plety of girls about if you are coming to bali in the next two weeks, the bad news is quite a few of the cuties are home from friday for at least a week.

Your constructive criticism is well made; I admit my correspondence efforts have been far from prolific, a better description would be pathetic.
I did not intend for my self described "encyclopedic knowledge" comment to be taken as hyperbole but rather a humble offering to share per individual requests my years of experience on Bali. I could go back and try to recall my experiences but I believe the time and effort involved would be better spent helping fellow mongers in the here and now.
And hopefully my recent reports in Vietnam, and most recently Burma, will show that I'm focused on posting helpful reports rather than just pontificating about my exploits.

named after the overpriced and over-engineered gas-guzzling luxury car that was one of the biggest flops in motoring history. dresses up to the nines, typically high-heeled thigh-length boots, tight leatherette mini skirt, frilly translucent blouse and gaudy jacket. usually wears a loopy hat on top of streak-bleached hair and totes a futuristic shiny plastic shoulder bag. make-up way overdone, nails long and crimson, looks like something from a vampire b-movie. demands the most exotic drinks in the house and turns her nose up at any bloke she considers can't afford her. doesn't pull many guys, but provides priceless entertainment in the bar.

Yesterday was the anniversary of the first bomb in bali and after 5 years things are finally looking like they are getting back to the way things used to be.
I went to a small ceremony at ground zero with some friends and it was really good how so many people came together to pay their respects...
Afterwards went down to Paddys and it was full of western people, as feared a lot of the girls have gone home but there still were a handfull of fairly attractive girls around.
Then dropped into MBargo... well if you are a monger coming to Bali in the next week and you want to play with the hotties, sleep in the day come out at 12.30 to Mbargo. I was there for a good hour and there were some very hot little girls all looking for a friend for the night :) many girls I havent seen before and many good looking girls who I bet will start at 1 million... I will look again tonight and see if I can get a price range. These hot girls were all very well dressed and didnt look like the regular kupukupu (butterflies) if they hang around for a while its going to be good.
The other clubs that where pumping where the Sky Garden and the new place next door My Room... definately worth a look although I dont like the amount of ladyboys hang around the bottom of Sky Garden... I had to walk through about 8 of them and they are very agressive trying to land a client I was polite and said no thank you... and then one of them starts abusing me for walking by... Had to laugh as security then came along to shut them up. From what I have seen there is a lot of quality out there right now so its worth a look.

Padma will be fine to take girls too... if anything you may have to slip security 10,000rp (just over $1 US) when you come back with the girl. They may ask for her ID card but thats ok it is common practice and is better security for you in case she does a runner with anything she shouldnt.

In my experience living in Bali I've never encountered a problem at ANY hotel bringing a woman "back to the room"; I've stayed at the Conrad in Nusa Dua, the Ritz in Jimbaran, 4-Seasons in Ubud, and many other properties running the gamet from losmens to five star. The only exceptions are the small boutique properties which tend to be more intimate and thus if your companion keeps changing all the more conspicuous.
Of course much of it depends on how you behave, and the girls appearance. If you are discrete and dont call untoward attention to yourself, or the girl, and the girl doesn't raise eyebrows given an undisciplined demeanor or outrageous dress then you will just be one of many who are enjoying their holiday in the company of a Indonesia woman.
The particular hotel you are staying in is particulary easy to access with its broad expanse of property fronting the beach which makes for easy transitions. Sure you could tip the guard a few Rps but again its not necessary unless you exceed publicly accepted thresholds of decency or acceptable behavior.
One final bit of advice, when reserving a room it usually costs just the same to make a booking for two, as it does for one. I do this on many occassions which affords me the discretion and cover should I find company.

Check ouy Mackay33 post on 10/11. these 2 ladies are Balinese. Don't think for one minute that money doesn't drive these economys. You also notice that they are well fed and well cared for.

From my experience all of the p4p girls on the north shore are Balinese and

Induism is very easy on sex issues.
So even if you can find woman that will never cheat on their bf, (if properly satisfied) On the other way you will seldom find a girl over 15/16 that is not having sex with her bf bacause want to wait for wedding or other similar catholic paranoias.
Besides this, Balinese people are rich compared to the inhabitants of the rest of Indonesia, so it's not so easy to find balinese Wgs. But there are. There are. Believe me.

Went and had a look around the main strip in Kuta last night... The girl situation was down more than usual when it comes to Indonesian women but the western, chinese tourists and japanese have definately filled the void.
Mbargo - didnt pick up until 1pm and is the spot at the moment for any good looking girls in town..
Paddys - Not really worth the effort at the moment, too many western guys and not enough girls to cater
Bounty - Same as Paddys
Skygarden - mixed worth a look at least
My Room - Tuesday was quiet until 12 (give this place until new years)
Expresso - Packed as usual with western and indonesian, I tend to avoid the claustrophobic club.

I was in Bali with my (former) girlfriend. A big mistake! Not only was the local talent more desirable, but she was in overdrive ***** mode. In short, I was in a tropical island paradise but NOT getting laid. Unaccepatable.
I got desperate. I didn’t know how I’d get away long enough to do any mongering. But then it all fell in place. We were wandering about in Sanur, when I noticed mysterious establishments with the X’s after the street numbers. I have forgotten the name of the street, but the name can be found in other posts about Sanur. At one of them, a long-haired hippy kind of guy was sweeping. I went up to him and asked him in the local lingo what they had there. He said, “cewek.” My girlfriend didn’t understand Indonesian at all, so she suspected nothing. I told him I’d be back. I just had to figure out how to get away for a while.
Then an idea came to mind. I suggested to the ice queen that she looked a little stressed and could use a massage. Just down the street there was a massage parlour, I think it was called Matahari. I generously suggested a two-hour session, which included some kind of facial. I left her there and went back to the hippy, who was at 9X. Minutes later, he brought two stunning beauties on motorbikes. I could barely choose. I took the girl who was a little less pretty but who had much more personality. It cost 300 RP, which I later found out was a bit high. But she was worth it.
I pulled this trick a few more times. I tried 11X (200 RP) and 6X (150 RP). I should say that the quality of girls was directly related to the price paid. Best of all, these establishments also operate in the day, and you’re likely to be the first customer.
My nephew and his friend (early 20's) are going to Bali in March 2008. They asked me for asssistance in selecting a mid priced hotel near the 'hot' spots of Kuta or Legian. They have been there before when they were younger.
Can anyone offer any suggestions please? These boys are both studying Bahasa Indonesia at University. They prefer to mix with the local 'cewek'
I know of the Bounty Hotel and some others but would really appreciate some guidance to what is the best place for their age group.

There are so many hotels available in that one little strip... my personal favourites are Dewi Sri and Barong, both have good rooms are clean and the younger crowd do go to them and are within stumbling distance to Mbargo, Sky Garden, My Room, Paddys, Bounty Disco, Tubes & Expresso as to the local girls hey they flood the area. They rooms will be between 15 and 25 US per night. As I said there are many places around this area it just depends on their budget and what they expect.

As for the costs even though I've just come back I'm not exactly sure, I think I paid a total of around RP3,000,000 for the 2 weeks but that included the minbar and some drinks and meals.

I would suggest you tell the lads to try and negotiate a little, ask for an extra night or two for free eg buy 5 get two free... every hotel is keen to get to all rooms booked and I know the boss will be happy to have two people there for the time... I would suggest also that they upgrade to the deluxe rooms if they can afford it, bigger room bigger bed and more soundproof :) they can get all info from this site www.dewisrihotel.com

Anyway last night around 10 pm I was going back to Kuta from Denpasar and before passing the Kerobokan Jail, 100mts on the right side. I saw a black window with a red writing (KARAOKE somehting) anb 2 really pretty young girls hanging around and smiling and asking to go in.
I was in my car and with a woman, so could not stop, buy they keep on smiling and waving at me.
Might be a rip of. But look like a locals place. So could be worth it.

Hi 1Ball and fellow mongers, there are actually about 5 places in that area you are speaking 4 that I know of are the karaoke for locals and I actually passed the place you decribed the other day.
I have been going to one of the places called Dewi Cafe and not too impressive but some of the talent there isnt too bad. These are girls who have very limited english and not really good singers either, although they do tend to look after the locals rather than the tourists and they like to see the occassional bule.
The girl I have seen says they can't leave until end of shift which sometimes can be between 2 and 4 in the morning... There is a day shift but not really worth a look as the younger better looking ones come out at night. My little one cost 250.000 for ST

This is new to me. I will also check this out with some local friends. I have seen the road and I have also noticed Bule surfers on bikes coming out of that road. This road links to the Jl. that is next to the river near the temple behind Tarita. I have heard about rumah ayam in that area for the locals, so it might be the same link.

These are what's known locally as 'cafes', very different from the Western definition of a 'cafe'. They can be spotted in that they usually have colorful lights out front. I've seen two of these while exiting thru the back of Carefours.
Always remeber when negotiating that the average wage is $1-4 US dollars a day here.

Relax Massage is a brothel. Not particularly clean or nice. Basic. The mamasan was tough and would not go below 400 RP. I picked a girl from a book, she was a young Balinese girl of 20 with a birthmark on her face, which probably made her unmarriageable. Bad teeth too. She was a strange young thing but wasn’t too bad. She had a way of looking right into your face while doing doggy-style. Very nice. The annoying thing was her begging me for more cash, saying that the mamasan doesn’t give much. I ended up giving her a 50000 RP tip.

I am mostly interested in longtime and dont want to pay more than 350.000 / night. Is this realistic? Is it true that in low season you have to pay only the half price?

In regards to the pricing I personally have found that if you are in Sanur yes you can get a girl for 150.000, the quality is sometimes questionable or if you are lucky you are able to get a newbie who just doest know the game yet... they are really hard to find considering most of the girls from what I have been told from girls in the industry have been doing this since 13 - 14.
If you want longtime, you can do a couple of things, 1. negotiate with the girl and hope that she thinks that its worth her while to meet with you. 2. Negotiate with a boss and know that a girl only makes about 50.000 of that 750.000, 3. go into the Legian strip from about 10pm go to Paddys and negotiate with a girl. You will probably get a girl between 500.000 and 700.000 for a long time. Be warned they are ruthless and will try at first to only make it an hour for 500.000, again it is up to you.
The other alternative is go to Seminyak to Santa Fe, same deal with the girls.
If you are in the Sanur area, I suggest that you go meet a girl for the cheaper money, see if you guys click and then if you do ask her to meet you afterwards away from work. Either way it will be fun exploring and finding the right girl.
Bali is booming again with hot girls so take your time and see...

You know as a long timer here I find it funny that you have found it so hard to get the kind of services that you are wanting.
Let me say that in Balinese Massage, Kuta Bugar and Kuta Timor you should have had no problems at all... Unless you are expecting everything for nothing. The one thing I have found moreso in the past 6 to 12 months is that the girls are getting smarter... They know that if you are in there looking for extras then they will try and screw you with a high price first. Its as I always say a matter of negotiation. If she wont negotiate to a price you are happy with then pick another and try again... for the quibbling over a few US dollars it really amazes me that we all try and screw the girls for little, little money and then get offended when they say no. Don't get me wrong here I am just as at fault at times, as I will try very hard at times to get the super cheap price, but I do applaud a girl who holds to her guns and won't just give away her services.
As to girls in clubs well they are a completely different kettle of fish... My experience is that a large percent of these women are looking for that

I have to say if you have found a good one then fantastic, on the other hand if the girl is working in Bounty and MBargo I would be very hard pressed to trust her.
It would depend on 1. How old she is 2. How much money are you prepared to throw her way... I think the main issue is you guys are looking for love in all the wrong places. If you pick up a WG, and try to turn her into a GF, it will never, and I mean never work.
