I know "Kopi Luwak" when you enter Atrium via the main entrance coming of the taxi ramp- and, in theory, you could combine the jkt mall hunting experience with a cup of the world's finest gourmet coffee's. In theory- the kopi luwak in Atrium is made and tastes similar to a very common Indonesian percolator coffee -burned.

With the low price of 16,5k IDR for a cup, I honestly doubt it's the real deal and much rather prefer the 100% Arabica coffee's served in Starbucks, Gloria Jeans, etc. but if anyone knows a better place to enjoy, bring it on.. thanks.

Interconnect tariffs in Indonesia were slashed some time ago.. it caused a sudden increase of new subscribers onto the mobile networks. It started in December last year I think, before that, mobile communication could be as good, or bad, as anywhere else, but now the networks seem as congested as the jkt traffic itself.

When switched on, my hp defaults to automatic network selection and somehow it got a pref for ProXL. Base station signal strength or preferred partner selection? I don't know, but it has caused me some grief and I am now convinced ProXL is bad for my nerves.

Manually selecting the largest Indonesian provider Telkomsel the better option -if it wasn't for being run by a fellow Dutchman. I haven't tried the second largest -Indosat, but using Telkomsel, I could access my overseas voicemail and could also make overseas calls without too much difficulty.

There's a kopi luwak place right next to Kemchicks in Pacific Place, not a bad cafe for hanging out in. The prices vary according to the proportion of the coffee that is kopi luwak: the 3% solution goes for something like Rp 20,000; the 100% stuff goes for something like Rp80,000.

Heard before that connexions from Batam-Spore, and Medan-Penang are fiskal-free for Indonesians, apparently to promote cross-straits economic cooperation or due to some historical links. Can anybody confirm whether this is true? May be too much of a hassle, though.

A friend of mine in JKT happens to be a Project Manager of major contractor which focus on In Building Connect (IBC)...many projects his office has accomplished (Telkomsel, ProXL, Indosat and others). He said that Indosat has very complicated conditions to build...in which made a very good connections not only on IBC but outdoor project as well.

FYI, I also a Telkomsel user.

As I write this, I am taking steps to cancel my application for Permanent Residence in Thailand, and am applying for Indonesian PR ... that is, until this relationship ends ... as it surely will.

To all mongers visiting Jakarta, there's something here that you just cannot find in the anatomy of other women in other countries .. it's called the GFE-spot .. my advice is to look for it ... it's really not that hard to find in Jakarta. Sigh!

I tend towards XXL's point of view. Since the demise of Tanamur over a decade ago, Stadium is the most democratic club in Jakarta. Anyone can go there, and practically everyone does, from your own pembantu on her night off to the President's grandchildren.

Uhm, one should not underestimate their talent for dissembling. In my view reliable (though not infallible) tests of belonging to at least the upper middle-class is whether 1) they're ready and proud to invite you to their place 2) they can drive you back to your hotel in their own car. If they only circulate in cabs (or worse, "ojeks") or if they always have an excuse ready not to extend an invitation to see their beautiful home/apartment ...

The reason a scene has developped in Kemang may have to do with the logistics of roadblocks on week-ends. Too much danger in Kota, so setting up a "hot" disco on the other side of town will attract custom. Of course the cops adapt quickly and extend their dragnet to catch the fish outside Kota. I haven't patronised the joints Raverboy mentions but assuming because they're in South Jakarta they attract an entirely different crowd from the Kota crowds is doubtful. To me girls have no social class. The poorest of girls can be queen if she marries the king.


There are now as many road block in Kemang and even Cilandak and Pondok indah as it is in Kota.

So we always take the highway back and exit somewhere we can go back via the small lanes......

Your experiences in Atrium Senen, I presumed that ProXL has not covered this area better. About voicemail I believe you may change the language to English (or you may even record your own voice)...I think all of the provider support these.

Blok M is in South Jakarta and all the fuve star hotels having their pubs which include, Tiga Pulu, CJ's, BATS etc are all located in South Jakarta. You could hit the Bok M pubs and have your share of fun. Lots of info in the threads. Just check it out

Tavern is a great place to be in. It has a three tier layout. As you enter in the first tier, its clean and sometimes if you are lucky, you might get hold of a non professional who is typsy and will not charge you anything at all. Then you have the bar, where you will find some girls on the bar, who are available or are with some Oil and Gas gys who have already hooked them. And the third tier beyond the bar is where you will find most of the action is, where you will find the WG's and many of the Oil and Gas regulars who are back from the rigs or those girls who are the gf's of the guys who are on the rigs and are two timing out there.

The easiest way is to find the Mercure Grand Rekso hotel on Jalan Hayam Wuruk, just north of Jalan Mangga Besar and directly in front of the Olimo stop of the Transjakarta busway.

Stand in front of the hotel with the hotel behind you, and turn left. Walk down 50 meters, cross Jalan Mangga Besar and keep walking down Jalan Hayam Wuruk. The building on your left will have an Indomart convenience store, an Alfamart convenience store, and a CFC (California Fried Chicken) store.

After this building is an alley on your left, Alley #1. Look down and you should easily see the signs for Kartika and Berlian massage parlors, also Royal Mas mp.

If you don't turn left, the next building will have Suisse Bakery on the corner, then 3 more alleys on your left (alleys #2, 3 & 4). I think a lot depends on how nice of a room you'd like to get. I've stayed at 190k places in Lokasari that were okay, but nothing special. I don't think many hotels have Internet included here. I know at my 4-5* hotel I'm in now, it's $18US a day. However, I can get free wifi by having my computer near a window.

I would try and pick an area that you like, and then get a hotel nearby. Block M, Plaza Indonesia or Lokasari are the areas I usually stay in.

In Block M, the cheapest place I stayed at was the Golden Boutique Hotel, soon after they opened. I think it was 400k, but prices may have risen. The Ambhara at 600k was nicer, of course.

The Kaha booking booth at the airport has some very good deals. I'd try to make a list of 5-6 hotels and then book then, unless you're arriving at a very busy time.

Ekspat's post is from December 11, 2007 but I only recently had the chance to explore this area one afternoon. Yes, not for the faint-hearted! in fact, this is the "lowest-end" experience I've had in several years, lower than my visits to Kali Jodo in Jakarta and to Dolly in Surabaya.

Note: all conversations & discussions were in Bahasa Indonesian, no English whatsoever here.

Easy to do; I started at the Tanah Abang station itself and started walking south (with the large yellow-and-green Tanah Abang market building on my left).

Within 75 meters I came across a little roadside cafe on my left that sold drinks, under a blue plastic awning. A middle-aged woman called for me to buy a drink, and I immediately saw that there were 8 or 9 women under the awning, so I figured that this must be the place mentioned by Ekspat. I then saw two signs for rundown hotels right after the café, further proof that I was in the right place.

Most of the women were overweight and 35+ in age, pleasant company to sit and chit-chat with while I drank a Coca-Cola, but not anyone I’d want to have a FS session with. Then, I noticed that one of the ladies in the back looked a lot younger, late 20s, and was much better-looking; in fact she looked liked the Disney character “Pocahantas.”

The lady in charge immediately saw that I had noticed “Pocahantas” and started talking the girl up, saying “Mister, good service, you like?” to which I nodded yes. I played dumb and said “where would we go” and she replied by pointing to one of the next-door hotels and said “hotel, room short-time 25,000 rupiah.” So I said ok, let me finish my drink.

What transpired next was a bit surreal. The younger girl, whose name was either Rena or Reni (can’t remember for sure) asked me openly in front of everyone “so how much money are you going to give me?” to which I replied “how much do you want?” She replied “300,000 rupiah” to which I replied “too high, much too high” and we continued haggling from there, all out in the open in front of everyone, as if I was shopping for fruit or a carpet. Obviously it was no big deal to them, but still strange to me.

Rena/Reni refused to go below 200,000 rupiah, so I replied “final offer 100,000 rupiah, with tip if service is good.” She said no so I got up to leave, so she immediately agreed to my final offer and off we went.

The FS session itself was actually pretty good, she had a decent body with above-averaged sized tits, and provided good service. Several downsides: she absolutely refused to do any oral on me, also she didn’t have a condom (luckily I did have one) and of course the hotel room was an absolute dump. The sheet didn’t look very clean and we were given only one small towel between the two of us.

Would I repeat? Probably not, unless I picked up Rena/Reni and brought her in a taxi to someplace nicer. But when I figure in that it cost me 100,000 rupiah + 50,000 tip + 25,000 for the hotel room, plus taxi fare to and from this somewhat out-of-the-way place, it’s not much cheaper than taking the Transjakarta bus and going to Kartika or one of the other MPs in Kota. Plus, although I am not shy or a prude, I felt very conspicuous and out in the open as the only foreigner in the area, realing as I walked in and out of the hotel that everyone in sight (over 50 people) knew exactly what I was doing.

Yes, the topic came up, she claimed that she would charge a local 100,000 rupiah, not sure how true this is, might be lower, probably depends on how much she needs the cash.

Can't really blame her for trying to make a windfall profit from the first foreigner she's ever f-cked. Also, I spent almost a full hour with her, those tits were fun to play with, once she got "warmed up" her service was great, and she was interesting to talk with after the deed. I suspect that most locals would spend 10 minutes or less with her, and ultimately we guys are paying for the girl's time.

I still don't think I'll go back, too many other, better options in Jakarta, once here is enough!

I would thoroughly recommend Ambhara Hotel. It is a very nice hotel right next to Blok M and is very girl friendly. It is about $100 pwer night. I stayed there on my first trip to Jakarta and will be staying there again in June.

No hotel in Jakarta is central to everything, so you have to make a choice either way. I feel confident to say that I guarentee you will not be disapointed if you stay at Ambhara, i would thoroughly recomend it as a hotel and also for its excellenet location particularly as I was in the same boat as you having never before been to jakarta and looking for a good hotel in good location and it worked perfectly for me.

A flood of this size is likely to cut off the highway to Seokarna-Hatta airport.

It is being anticipated. This high tide is supposedly to affect coastal areas of Jakarta including the toll-road to Soekarno-Hatta airport. I drove JC to the airport a couple days ago and I saw construction of concrete along the toll-road exposed to the tide. To block the tide I guess.

I arrived in JAK Sat and have been sleeping a lot, so that has made it difficult. I'm staying at Hotel Ibis Tamarind, for $48 per night, net, great breakfast included, thru KAHA booking service at the airport (thanks Jamie Carrito). Front desk is quoting $58 for the same. But I feel isolated, no mongers, very few Western travellers, no good advice for a first time traveller.

Will move to Jl Jaska St, the backpacker hangout on Monday. Prices are very good, internet is easy and cheap (important for me) and people are friendly. From there I'll visit Block M, and I hope to meet some guys that can give me some advice.

Did some interesting sight seeing today near the port. (The port that will be flooded in two days, due to high tides and another natural event). A guide walked me through some very local, interesting, friendly areas, way off the beaten path. The most fascinating sight seeing I've done in one hour in a long time.

Later, I wanted to go to Block M, but woke up late (10:00pm) and thought Sunday night was an off night. I want to move to the Block M area in a day or so, but I don't want to pay US$60-100 for a place, as suggested by Bowerboy. Thanks for the info, but it's way more than I want to pay. So I'm looking for a place for less than $50. I tend to do ST, so I spend very little time in the hotel.

So, any help would be appreciated. I'll be in JAK for another 4 days, then Bali. Would like to meet some guys from this board, like I've done in a lot of other places. My buddies are asking for a trip report. I need some action! I'll have a phone number on Monday.

Since price appears to be your main concern, then yes your best bet would be the Jalan Jaksa area.

Another option, try the Hotel Caravan, which is around 200,000 rupiah a night for a clean room (brand-new building) and which is a 5 minute walk from Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia shopping malls. You won't see any foreigners there (unless someone like me uses the place for a short-term pop), but you're close to those malls.

And 10 p.m. on a Sunday night would have been a good time to check out the Blok M places. When it comes to sex in Jakarta, there's no real "off night" (except during the fasting month of Ramadan), these girls need to eat (and spend money on other things) every day of the week.

Glad also to read that you toured the Sunda Kelapa port area, interesting stuff, lots of history there.

If you're living full-time in Jakarta, it never hurts to have 3 or 4 days worth of food on hand at all times - tuna fish, instant noodles, bottled water, beer, canned soup, etc.

The tide will close off most of the northern part of town, including the important trade area of Glodok (old Chinatown), and will affect much of the rest of Jakarta as access to the port will be difficult.

Last year over 70 per cent of Jakarta was flooded for almost a week. I live in Mega Kuningan, one of the neighborhoods that was not flooded, but the nearby Carrefour supermarket started to run out of food after a few days, because the delivery trucks couldn't reach the supermarket.

Although the flooding is expected to be severe up north I don't think the rest of Jakarta should suffer too many problems as unlike last time it will be largely tidal in origin rather than due to heavy rains. Of course if the high tide coincides with a heavy rain storm then all bets are off.

Dboy your choice of hotel is fine (I can see your bedroom from my office window as I type) but you are certainly not in a particularly 'hot' area. Jaksa is ok for the back packers but not really a mongering destination, though you could do worse than hanging around the McDonald's in Sarinah Mall after dark.

You were unwise to skip the Blok at 10pm, you'd have found plenty of interest even on a Sunday evening.

My advice would be to get down to the Blok now, find the Melawei Hotel (just around the corner from Pasaraya Mall) and get a room there for 330K a night, then when you're bored during the afternoon you can visit the Marabaya Bar in the 6th Floor, the rest is up to you. Other cheap hotels in that area are the Melawei II (the yellow building across the street from the Melawei) and the Losari and Amaris near the Blok M Plaza Mall.

I fully sympathise with your disorientation in Jakarta, it happens to us all on our first visit, I know I hated the place and couldn't wait to leave when I first arrived but stick with it, you'll discover you've found a real gem of a city here.

One of the more distinguished Senior Members of this board is a Chinese Malaysian. He's a regular contributor to the Indonesia threads, who's written numerous posts of his successes as a mall-hunter during his 3-or-4-times-a-year visits to Jakarta. He clearly has had no problems scoring with the women here, so neither should you.

And many of the customers at the MPs are Chinese Indonesian, especially the higher-end places such as Malioboro and Alexis.

However, if you are still worried, one way to guarantee success would be to take one of Jakarta After Dark's tours (he is a regular poster to this board, his handle is "Jkt After Dark 2" (without the quotes, of course).

Just go to the Classified Ads section of this board and go to Page 4, you should easily find a couple of informative posts written by him there. I can think of at least 3 members who have used Jkt After Dark 2's services and then wrote posts that it was money well-spent.

So, welcome to Jakarta, and good luck! and make sure you go to Kartika Spa at least once. I was there again this afternoon, and had yet another great session there :D

You don't need to be bule to score in Jakarta: if you are male, still alive and have some money you will be OK. Remember, girls will perceive you to have money if you are Chinese in just the same way as they perceive bules. Being able to speak bhs Indonesia will be a great help especially in the more down market (but still OK) malls such as Atrium were most girls don't speak English. I suggest you take note of Mighty Spearsman's report with which I fully agree - there are quite a few non-bules who post in this forum who seem to do OK! If you search on mall hunting you may find some useful tips and certainly Jakarta After Dark will put on the right track quickly and effectively.

You don't need to be bule to score in Jakarta: if you are male, still alive and have some money you will be OK. Remember, girls will perceive you to have money if you are Chinese in just the same way as they perceive bules.

Probably true, except that there some groups of girls who focus on particular market segments. Some bars or other venues may be set up to deal mainly with expat bules, others are more for local Chinese, others for Arabs and Africans and so on. Go into the wrong bar, and you may find yourself, well, not ignored, but on the B-list. I always have some good-natured wrangling with a local Chinese friend: when I suggest a venue, he protests that the girls there are only interested in bules, and he wants to go to 1001 or someplace in Kota where I find I get ignored and he is on a first-name basis with all the Mamas.

But there are so many girls and bars in Jakarta that you really don't have to worry.

Whether your a bule or not, you stand a good chance of connecting to the FLs as long as you daring & play smart in your mall hunting episodes!

I've been to a couple of mall hunts with both bules (like Bulai69), locals and Malaysians of differant races and till date have not failed to notice at least 1 FL in all malls but the only problems are these FLs to your requirements!

The most important factor is to simply smile (not like a wolf but a pleasant smile) to any girl that takes your fancy, if she responds positivly then next's step is to be DARING and approcahed her if you do not see any agresive males accompnying them! Ask them to go for a drink at any outlet in the mall and the rest is up to you!

There is no way you are unable to meet FLs in known FLs hang out places like Atrium unless there is a clean up operation b the mall and I have seen friends pick up girls at malls like Plaza Indoesia and Plaza Senayan, thus I dont see a problem for anyone!

Things are looking up, thanks to advice here and thru PM. I moved to south Jakarta, north Jakarta seems too close to to the potential flooding.

Hotel Melawai was full, at least when using KAHA Travel. So I'm in Country Boutique Melawai, a block away. 4 Star, published rate of Rp 750,000, but only Rp 400,000, all in, thru KAHA! Very nice place, no pool or gym.

Went to Melawai Hotel 6th floor yesterday at 4:00pm. Chose Tia from a group of 12 eager girls. Great performance, pouty lips, great face, body on top was good, a little wear and tear on the hips. Lots of BBBJ including CIM. Fun attitude and decent massage, very limited English, but she made up for it.

For Blok M bars, like Top Gun and My Bar, my opinion is that Top Gun starts going around 10pm onwards and My Bar a little later. Those hotel bars are expensive and the women will try for more there also. Hotel bars start going late also. This isn't Thailand or Phillipines, I don't recommend you wear shorts to the hotel bars, or even Blok M bars.

Never been during the month of Ramadan but reading posts by other members, it will certainly impact upon the availability of talent. Many venues close their doors for the whole month. I think it would be sensible to delay your trip until October

I just checked my calendar, the fasting month of Ramadan is scheduled for September 1 - 29th or 30th, and the Eid-al-Fitr holiday is either September 30 or October 1st. Since the Eid holiday falls in the middle of the week, the entire week will be a government holiday, with offices (and mps!) re-opening on Monday, October 6th.

The Eid holiday is known as "Lebaran" in the Indonesian language. Those expats who live in Jakarta love this holiday, as there's no traffic and the air is clean and breathable for a few days.

Prince2 is correct, if you are able to delay your travel here until after Ramadan has ended, you should do so. Try to arrive on or after October 6th.

However, if you don't have any flexibility in your travel plans and must come here during Ramadan, all is not lost. While the free-standing mps such as Kartika, Berlian, TC, etc. in Kota and the Maribaya Spa in Blok M are closed for 5 weeks (the 30 days of Ramadan plus 4 or 5 days for the Eid-al-Fitr holiday after Ramadan ends), some of the hotel-based mps such as Malioboro remain open, and many of the girls are still doing business out of hotel rooms etc. for at least the first 3 weeks of Ramadan (September 1 - 21). And many freelancers are still "doing business" in the bars that have remained open, especially the bars in the 5-star hotels. Oyenk and I wrote several posts here last year during Ramadan, I recommend you check them out to get an idea of what's available then.

Please note that the last week of Ramadan (September 22 - 29/30), the Eid-al-Fitr holiday itself (September 30 or October 1) and the 3-4 days after that are probably not a good time to be mongering in Jakarta, simply because most of the working freelancers, etc. will have traveled home for the Eid holiday.

Last year at least a dozen of the girls who worked at the Maribaya Spa (Melawai Hotel 6th floor) stayed in town during the first 3 weeks of Ramadan and worked out of a couple of hotel rooms in the Hotel Melawai. I went there several times and enjoyed my sessions, as there was no "1-hour" time pressure, I had several 2-girl 2-hours 2-pops sessions then. Unfortunately all of those girls then went back to their villages for the last few days of Ramadan and the subsequent Eid-al-Fitr holiday.

Good post about shorts. I altered my travel attire because of that. Although I never went out in shorts, even in the hotel, I would wear white Reeboks.

I always thought it was supremely stupid to pad around in the Jakarta heat in long pants or jeans (OK, it isn't bangkok heat, but still...), but I did it anyway.

If you can not be in JKT on August...then I suggest you to come in mid October (based on calendar).
But all high-end spa usually open during ramadan 'fuckin' month, see in this thread...I have submitted some spa which open during ramadan. Travel bordell opens during ramadan.

Before ramadan month, criminality usually raise (not only in the street but also in spa, bordell and mp / billing scamming) ...remember that !

As of Thursday late afternoon:

Yes, there was flooding but luckily it was restricted to some areas of North Jakarta, and most of Jakarta was not affected. The government actually tried to take some preventive measures this time, including building up some embankments with sand bags, etc., and that seemed to have helped.

But let's not be complacent here, it was a close call, and could have been much worse. I saw one video shot on TV where water was "licking" the top of an embankment; a few centimeters higher and there would have been more flooding. And the people living in the areas that were flooded are mostly very poor, and their lives were very much affected by this week's flooding.

Update:
There were heavy rains Thursday evening, which may have exacerbated the situation. But as far as I know, the highway to the airport is still open.

Unfortunately we may never know the truth about Cynthia's death....

Cynthia first went home to her "kampung" (home village) near Semarang in late June as she wasn't feeling well. Sadly, she never returned to Jakarta.

I talked to her on the phone a couple of times in July/August, also sent one million rupiah to her twice (through Rista). I stopped hearing from Cynthia once Ramadan started in mid-September as her cell phone ran out of pulsa...

Rista travelled to her kampung last week and met with Cynthia's family. Understandably they are all devastated by what happened, especially Cynthia's mom and 3-year-old son. I may travel to the kampung myself soon to express my condolences in person (yes, I know the family will ask me for money for the son!).
This is not a normal ISG report, but I think that those members who know the late Cynthia from Kartika should appreciate this info.

The above post was written by me on December 4, 2007, shortly after Cynthia died on November 20th.

Six months later, I was able to keep the promise that I had made to myself. I was in Semarang for my work, so I hired a car and went to visit Cynthia’s son and family in Bangsri, a small rural farming village outside of Jepara, Central Java, around 2 ½ hours from Semarang.

Cynthia’s family lives in a fairly-nice new house, presumably built with funding from Cynthia’s work at Kartika from 2003 to 2007. Cynthia’s mother is a pleasant but tired-looking woman around 50, and is the primary caretaker for Robby, Cynthia’s son and only child, who will be 4 in early September 2008. Cynthia’s father died a few years ago. She has five surviving siblings ranging in age from 31 to late teens (Cynthia was child #3 and was 26 when she died), her older brother and sister are both married with children.

I stayed for about one hour, which included a visit to Cynthia’s grave in a nearby cemetery. The family knew who I was (since I had twice sent money to Cynthia when she was sick last year) and were very friendly, but conversation was difficult as the mother, indeed most of them did not speak Bahasa Indonesian, only Javanese. I could have used my driver as an interpreter but the car was parked far away from the house (no road to the house, only a footpath). Cynthia’s older siblings did speak some Bahasa Indonesian and did most of the talking.

They said that they had never had a “bule” (foreigner) visit them before, probably the truth. Robby was shy at first and then started crying after I gave him a bunch of presents (clothes, toys, coloring book & crayons, a backpack, etc.), my guess is that he was overwhelmed by the whole scene. I gave Cynthia’s mother 2 million rupiah and smaller amounts to the two older siblings (who had children), took several photos, and off I went. By the way, no one in the family asked me for money or anything, I gave the money on my own.

Afterwards, I regretted that I did not ask the family to show me other photos of Cynthia from when she was younger; it would have given me more insight into her as a person.

Two haunting items: First, the only photos on the walls of the two front rooms of the house were a large photo of Cynthia and a smaller one of her father. Also, Cynthia’s oldest brother has a 14 year old daughter who looks just like Cynthia. Let’s hope her future is brighter than Cynthia’s was.

Note: much of this visit was arranged through cell phone calls with a couple of Cynthia’s friends who still work at Kartika, they were busy giving my driver directions to Cynthia’s house, and had given a heads-up to the family of when I’d be there.

Postscript:

I stopped by Kartika at 4:30 p.m. last Thursday after I returned to Jakarta, bringing my laptop computer with the photos downloaded from my camera. Every girl who worked there wanted to see the photos, especially the photos of her grave and the group photo of the 18 or so family members. I ended up showing the photos separately at least six or seven times to groups of girls, even the mamasans took a look, and my apologies to the 6 or 7 Indonesian guys who were there drinking and who were ignored for 10 minutes while I showed the photos.

I then went upstairs for a nice 2-girl session with Rista and Sonia. Afterwards, I had to show the photos several times again to those girls who had missed the show the first time around because they were either working or had not yet arrived for the evening shift.

I was overwhelmed by the warm thank-you’s from virtually every girl who worked there (at that time there’s close to 50 girls on duty), who seemed sincerely touched that I had visited the family and then reported on my visit to them.

Kartika raised its house fee from 250,000 rupiah to 260,000 rupiah, effective June 1st. I believe that the girl gets to keep at most 100,000 rupiah from the house fee. So, the girls will also expect 50,000 rupiah as a minimum tip and will hope for a 100,000 rupiah tip, not that unreasonable with the recent large price increases in everything due to the reduction in the fuel subsidy two weeks ago.

Stopped by there this afternoon and had another great 2-girl session, this time with Cindy and a newer girl named Nehneng (23, shy but a great body, better than Cindy's). Cindy had not been on duty last week and asked to see the photos from my trip to Cynthia's village after our session was over, so it was another reminiscing moment.

I rarely go back to jakarta as it is, and when i do have a short holiday during chinese new yr and managed to go back to jkt, for 4 friggin straight days, i was stranded at home, flooded with no electricity.

Just reading some comments on dress and in particular, a comment made by my friend KL Guy, reminds me that anyone who is interested in mall hunting (NB Cookie70) would be well advised to be as smart as possible to maximise their chances. This applies more so in up market malls like PI and PS. The ideal is a good business suit and tie but without a jacket is OK - as a minimum, go for smart trousers and long sleeved shirt. This is all about marginal improvement of course; if you are Brad Pitt you will get away with somewhat less formal attire but if you are somewhat older and/or less impressive in stature, every little helps.

I know that even some handsome and younger (than me!) contributors to this forum adopt this strategy.

A bit "off topic" but I was amused by one aspect of Chibi Asian's post when he talks about being "pissed". I know most readers are fluent in English/American but just in case you aren't, you should be aware that "pissed" has a quite different meaning in English and American English; in the former it means "drunk" or we British say "pissed up" and in the latter it means "angry/annoyed" which in English English could also be "pissed off". I've noticed confusion amongst Indonesian friends on this. Hope that's clear!

Arrived in Jakarta at around 9pm on 31 May 08 on a transit to Bali the next morning. Based on the information gathered from this forum (thanks to all brothers), proceeded by Blue Bird taxi to Hotel Peninsula (Jln Mangga Besar Raya) and checked in. Had a quick shower and headed across the street to Lokasari Plaza. At around 11pm the place was HOT with action.

Dropped into Today Country for a while. Didn't appreciate the crowd and left. Saw a few massage joints which was closing down for business for the day. Left the place and proceed to my hotel. Nearing my hotel, I was approached by two ladies on motorbike asking whether I wanted massage. Saw the pillion rider was quite cute and decided to take her for 1 hours at Rp150,000.

Proceeded to my room and she took a shower together with me. Nice body..... After shower proceed to the bed. She started giving me "mandi kuching" followed by a reasonable bbbj. We then proceed on several positions starting with missionary, scissor, doggie (kneeling & later standing) and finally missionary again where I unloaded. Slept well.

At 5am, received a sms from AirAsia that my flight to Bali was re-timed to 4pm. Suddenly I have until 12 noon to have some fun in Jakarta. She wanted to give me a HJ but I wanted full service. After some persuasion, we agreed on Rp150000. Proceeded to do several positions and later released over her boobs. Satisfied, paid and left.

Showered, checked out and left for the airport. Bali here I come.....

I believe he bought the points for USD35. Anyway, for non-airliner and non-hotelier, our friend's corporate rate is the best rate I have ever heard.

Truly sorry to read of your bad experience, and I can assure you that it is not typical of Kartika.
