You are 5 minutes away by taxi (in the evenings) from Tiga Puluh at Le Meridien Hotel, and 10 minutes away from either BATS at the Shangri-La Hotel or CJ's at the Mulia Hotel (Jl. Asia Africa). Those are the 3 most popular pick-up night spots for visiting expats.
You are also 15 minutes away or so from Blok M where you can find the middle-end clubs (Top Gun, etc.) and the Maribaya Spa on the 6th floor of Hotel Melawai.
It's at least 30 minutes or more to the mps and other spots in Kota.
Closer to you, supposedly the night club at the Ritz-Carlton (across the street from the Marriott) can be a hot spot, have never been there personally.
For massages with a guaranteed HJ at the end (but probably nothing more), the Jaspa Spa is a 3-minute walk from the Marriott (inside Mal Ambasador), and the Fortune Spa is across from Le Meridien Hotel (again, 5 minutes away by taxi). Both are clean and comfortable, not dumps.

Ok. Maybe I should have posted this in Semarang forum. But what the heck.
So until a few months ago Id basically never heard of Semarang and certainly never been there.

Taxi money is actually a camouflaged way of paying the fee. Normally I pay anything between 300 K and 500K depending on the quality of service. And the next time when you call her, you will know whether she liked your fee or not, depending on her response. If she did not like your fee, then the answer would be that she's been busy etc, or you may not get any response to your sms messages. Their website lists the same number http://www.kemtravel.com/ ..I tried to call them from overseas, but that shouldn't make any difference. Perhaps they recently changed number.

Yes, the mall, not the Aston Atrium hotel adjacent to it. She sometimes hangs out with her friends in Kafe Cappucino, which is right in the middle, second floor. I went to Stadium on my own and really felt comfortable (although I could not find a bluebird taxi to get home and used some other provider which actually was fine anyway)....

If you can't find a Blue Bird taxi, one option is to phone them at (021) 7917-1234 and ask them to come get you and bring you to your next destination. Doing this means that you have to pay a minimum of 25,000 rupiah even if the fare is less than that, but there's no extra booking fee. If the fare's over 25,000 rupiah, then you don't have to pay anything extra, just pay what's on the meter plus a small tip (3,000 to 5,000 rupiah tip for a late night taxi ride seems fair).
Much like golf, it's really a mind game, isn't it?

Taxi money is actually a camouflaged way of paying the fee. Normally I pay anything between 300 K and 500K depending on the quality of service. And the next time when you call her, you will know whether she liked your fee or not, depending on her response. Firstly, my thanks to John & Oyenk for advice on the quantum of taxi money to be given to some one who claims she is doing it for pleasure and not for the money.

I recce-ed the latter and though it was very central just across the road from the new Jakarta Centre just beyond the Grand Indonesia mall, the rooms are not at all maintained and are run down and quite grotty. Instead I checked in at the Maharadja for 'short time'. They have pretty good rates for 6 hours- 175k/205k/245k.
I got a room for 205k which was a bit run down but good enough for the job at hand and was joined by the cewek after I'd sms-ed the number to her. But thereafter, things went down hill. Her looks weren't what the photo had shown. Surprise! Surprise! Pasa Raya is still completely open. All the eateries are still there and open every day - as are all the same shops. Nothing inside has changed at all. There is a renovation going on with the exterior so it looks a mess right now. But they are trying to compete with the newer malls, so the renovation is in order. They are also changing the name of the mall, but supposedly the renovation will be done soon.
Guys I am a vet of Thailand. I live in PI. I want to just ask is Indonesia really worth a trip. It seems to be a complex mongering destination from the reports on this board but through other independent investigations I have heard that Indo-girls are the best in SE for P4P. I planning a short trip just to get my feet wet in next couple of months.

Just be careful not to go in the first week of October, Ramadan will end on Sept. 30, usually the whole week is dead. Happened to me in 2006. Stayed in Jakarta for a few days during this period and all Hotel bars were closed. Very dry season.

In general, I would not really recommend outcall services. Maybe there is a specific reason you want that, eg you are with a narrow minded colleague or whatever, but even then I think there are better options with a bit of creativity. With outcall, the problems you will have include not turning up, turning up late (100% certain to happen) and "late" in Jakarta can mean 2 or 3 hours in this context. Also whatever you say you want as far as the girl is concerned, they will say they have. They won't, you'll get what they've got. If you do go for outcall you must ask them to bring two girls so you can choose. Also be very clear about the price in advance.
Better options, include going out to bars and getting girls yourself. This is cheaper and obviously better as you know what you are getting. If you can, choose a hotel with club - in order of preference, Mulia, Shangri-La, Le Meridien. You will 100% certain to find a girl in there.
Another good option is to go on one of JAD's tours - he knows Jakarta inside out.
Thanks to those who fed back on Pasar Raya - incredible it's still open, I thought it was a mere building site - for sure the older ones near the Blok M Plaza end definitely are closed down. Some sympathetic random thoughts:
- sorry to say, but your quote that there's only a 10 per cent chance that the story of the father's illness is true is probably right on the money. What has happened to you is a familiar pattern, to treat you nicely at first, then go for a big hit of money. Unfortunately, many of the girls we run across are great actresses and mercenaries.
- if the story about the father is true, remember that your lady friend is not the only source of funds to pay for his treatment. Presumably her father has other children, his own brothers, sisters, cousins, etc. who can contribute to paying his health care, regardless of whether or not your girl had ever met you or not.
- even if the story is true, there may not be much point in sending any money if the father is both very old and seriously ill. Sounds cruel, but true. By the way, how old is the father? Don't assume he's 20 years older than his daughter, he could easily be 75 or 80 years old.
- if you wish to give an amount that's affordable to you, say 1 million or 2 million, that amount would be most appreciated if the story is true, and if it's not, then you haven't lost that much money. If you give money, presumably the girl will reward you with an extra-enthusiastic bonking next time you're in town; on the other hand, she might also ask you yet again for more money, claiming that her father has recovered but now the mother/sister/brother is ill and needs surgery.
- for what it's worth, my favorite girl from Kartika, Cynthia, became ill with some sort of stomach illness and went back to her village in June, 2007. I knew that she was truly ill and that it was not a scam, although I ndid not know that her illness was very serious. After receiving a few sms appeals, I sent her 1 million rupiah in July and another 1 million rupiah in August. I then ignored a further appeal for money from her, then the sms messages stopped in September (no more pulsa on her cell phone).
Two months later, in November, Cynthia died. Would she still be alive today if I had continued to send her money? Hard to tell, and obviously I'll never know for sure, but considering the terrible Indonesian health care system, she probably would have still died even if I had sent more money, unless I was willing to fork out the money to fly her to Singapore and receive proper medical treatment.
Bottom line? it's up to you, but if you want to make yourself feel better, I'd recommend you donate a relatively small amount, say 1 million, and see what happens. Good luck!

I would say there is less than 10% chance she is telling the truth. Several things lead to my estimate. First off, most hospitals in Indonesia are not going to provide any services unless they are 100% sure they will get paid. That almost always means payment up front. If you proceed I would insist that you pay the hospital directly through a bank transfer, any hospital or doctor will gladly provide you an invoice and bank transfer details. If she squirms at this request she is probably lying. Also, in reality you barely kow this girl. You have spent precious little time together and its sounds like you lack even the most simple common language.
While the indo girls, especially the brothel ones, appear to be less mercenary than their sisters in LOS, PI, China, etc..., the primary objective is to extract money from guys to help their families, boyfriends, and drughabits. Also, these girls have a great support system of other girls who gladly provide them the advice on how to push their customer buttons. One thing is true amongst working girls everywhere is duplicity.
I don't want to sound so jaded and cynical. In most likelihood this girl probably has lots of affection for you, sincerely likes you, and hopes that you will become the one to take care of her and her responsibilities. Traveler1234 and Bulai69, two of our most experienced posters, have both given you similar advice, which is to forget about outcall 'room service' and to instead visit one of the famous pick-up spots in Jakarta.
I agree with both T1234 and B69 and would like to also state the obvious - to make things as easy and as fast as possible, stay at one of the hotels where the hot spots are, go downstairs to the bar, choose a girl and bring her upstairs, all in 5 to 10 minutes without ever leaving your hotel or even stepping outside.
In case you haven't figured it out already, three hot spots where a non-Indonesian visitor to Jakarta can easily pick up a girl are: CJ's bar in the Hotel Mulia, the BATS bar at the Shangri-La Hotel, and the 30 Bar (aka "Tiga Puluh bar") at the Le Meridien Hotel. If you're on a tight budget, the first two hotels are a bit pricey, but you should be able to get a room at Le Meridien Hotel for under US $100 a night.
In return for this info, two items:
(1) please don't overpay! Many girls may start by asking for 1 million rupiah or even more, but the going price for short-term is 300,000 - 4000,000 and an all nighter should cost no more than 600,000 rupiah.

Scooter, even though I agree about 75% with mongerxx - his last paragraph was unnecessary, I thought - I'm going to say that I've let the girls touch my heart on more than one occasion. Friend of mine used this kind of advertising service two years ago, from local newspaper "Lampu merah" or something. Guess what ? the WG who came to hotel asked FuckJob Tip for a million rupiahs (exc. massage rate 400,000 rupiahs for two hours).

With all due respect and no flame intended, your post sounds either like puppy love or someone who hasn't mongered a whole lot. What was sent to you happens to many who share their mobile with a cewek, and the need for 'medical' reasons is one of the most often used excuses for more money.

In spite of my 15 years of active mongering, mostly here in the US, I guess I'm rather a novice at this game as GonzoTwo suggests. Truthfully, I always tried to be respectful and asked my guide J. A. D. What the appropriate tip was as not to '[CodeWord140] (http://isgprohibitedwords.info?CodeWord=CodeWord140)' in the well that we all drink from. You are partially right. But not before an Indonesian is 17 years old, he/she must have a KTP. That way e.g. police can check if the person is Jakartan or not. If not, the person can be sent back to his/her village if he/she doesn't have a regular job. That's why the girls coming to Jakarta will try to buy a Jakartan KTP. That this (illegal) KTP is not cheap, is obvious.

I've had similar conflicts with myself. For me it comes down to this.
The girls are working because they need money, not out of choice or pleasure. The clients are first and foremost their access to earn money. Whether they like you or not is besides the point, and the more they can get from you the better for them. If they were to fall in love with you, but you are poor - love will matter squat as there is no way you can be together.
If she falls in love with you and you are rich, you will either have to fund her and whoever is depending on her to bring the cash, or see her continuing her line of work.
In both cases - money talks - and it has nothing to do with what the girls would prefer - it is about facing reality.
Keep in mind the endless amount of empty promises these girls meet too. I bet my fine ass they regularly hear how some clients love them, want to take them out and away, or how they are the most beautiful girls they have seen. By guys who try to get better service, try to get discounts or freebies etc. So it is hard to trust any emotional display. Of course they know that the better and more special they make you feel, the more likely you are to tip them etc. And of course the ultimate would be to meet a guy who could take them out of this biz and provide for them at least an opportunity to do something else in their lives. In that respect they have very little to loose.

While not helping is your choice. You certainly can't help them all, and if you monger a lot in this are you will run into this dilemma a lot.
Based on this, I don't particularly blame a taxi driver for trying to trick some extra dollars off me, or the girl trying to appeal to my concience. In their situation I am sure I would have done the same.
As for tipping. I also hope you will restrain yourself a bit :) But if you really find someone you like, which this girl might be, why don't you pay her fee for a day and go out together and have a good time. I am sure that will be very, very welcome.

I think Knight answered you reasonably well. I would have thought this was easily achievable. However you got lazy and I think you probably didn't do enough research. If it was after midnight, there are a lot of places with reasonable pricing and you could go under budget. The prices will vary according to how they read you (do you look like a JKT newbie? ) situation (BATS at 11 pm? ) your negotiating skills and your approach (if you aren't familiar and asked the security guard, they would know you're new to JKT no matter how smart you think you are at negotiating. Besides which security would also take a cut which makes it difficult for any supplier to give you best prices).
I'm happy you enjoyed the massage but, as I'm sure you realise, it's not exactly the best value. Read this thread a lot further and you'll save yourselves a packet of money (4X since there are four of you). Good luck.

of the four or five high-end sauna-bordellos, i have visited beverly, malioboro and alexis but had not visited the emporium before. although there are quite a few frs on the others, there is, afaik, only mighty spearman's report on the emporium on this thread. i am posting my report based on my last week's visit experience.
emporium on jl pecenongan was easy to find as the building is very distinct and noticeable. entering the courtyard and parking lot, the doorway on the left leads to the the lobby for restaurant and the lift takes you up to the sauna reception where you get your number. as noted by ms, they take away your shoes and give you slippers before you enter the changing room and put on your gown and shorts. you then go upstairs where the lounge is located. i had gone early at 230 pm so there were only a few girls, the rest were still coming in. the lounge is ok - a bit small and quiet with one of two large alcoves/ partitioned rooms attached to it. it is a bit more intimate than the malioboro one which is more like a canteen/cantina but not as good as the alexis lounge which is more like a resto-bar. i saw some of the girls longing around- a few were sitting doing there makeup on the couches on one end of the lounge while others were having a snack from the buffet which the management seems to provide for the girls before they begin their shift.
i was approached by the mamasan who asked me if i wanted local indo girls or prc imports. since i opted for local she called the three or four who were sitting there and said their rates were 500 k (for fs incl. room) and there were other locals available at 800k. i asked to have a look at the 800 variety and they were summoned from a different room located downstairs. there did n't seem to be much difference between the two and i therefore choose one of the 500k variety. as far as i can remember the malioboro rate for this category used to be 400k, unless they've hiked up their rates. also, the alexis girls at 800 k are certainly much younger in appearance and a cut above the 800k types in malioboro and emporium.

You are lucky to be staying near the Alexis, which is IMHO the most user friendly high-end bordello spa in Jakarta. You can go there by yourself without a worry. A good time is after 3 pm.
The reception for the hotel is at the lobby. Just ignore it and walk around to behind the desk where the lifts are located. As a newbie you might be accosted by some Mamasans/Papasans who hang out in the lobby and offer you imported girls usually PRCs claiming that they are 'baru' i.e. new with some new tricks in their repertoire such as the 'helicopter'. Just ignore them.
The lift has all the stops marked on it but go to the Sauna top floor (am not sure if it is the 6th or the 7th floor). There is another receptionist (for the Spa)who sits on the right-hand side who hands out numbered tokens on wrist-bands that serve as the electronic key to your locker. The payment counter with the cashiers are on the left hand side. The receptionist will tell you the sauna fees which are quite nominal and only have to be paid if you don't use any of the 'other' services!
Take the stairs to the top floor where the lockers and the bars/fishbowl lounge are located. You can change into the shorts and robe in the changing room and leave your stuff in the locker and walk into the bar and fishbowl by the passageway on your left. Here all the girls are waiting and you will be approached by a mamsan/papasan who will show you the girls- the local Indos sit on the couches on the right hand side and the PRC/Chinese/Russians (Uzbeks/Ajairbaijanis) etc. on the left side of this room.
The current FS (1 pop) rates are 800k IDR for the Indos and 1.5 mill for the imports inclusive of the cost of the room. Recently finding myself at a loose end one afternoon I decided to take a trip 9/11 Jalan Industri. I arrived and wandered around the place but couldn't for the life of me locate any of the knocking shops, one security guard pointed out a doorway to me where stood a distinctly older chicken who seemed to be operating on her own, not what I was looking for at all. I agree and don't usually leave a paper trail but I have an outside Indonesia credit card account and have, at times, used it where it appears as a cryptic GAH which seems to refer to the hotel's previous name- Grand Ancol Hotel. Have done it in an emergency when I didn't have enough cash at hand but knowing that I can use it allows me to at least contemplate the possibility that in case I decide to have a threesome with one of the imports I can do so.Lol!!!

Please search back to last September and read the posts by Oyenk and me (among others) about what's available during Ramadan.
Many of the girls who normally work at Maribaya Spa (the 6th Floor of Hotel Melawai) usually team up and rent a group of the regular hotel rooms on the 6th floor of Hotel Melawai during the first 3 weeks or so of Ramadan. I had some great two-girl sessions there last year that lasted up to 2 hours and still cost less than two house fees at Maribaya. Will try to PM you some mobile numbers if I can find them.
There is still some night life at Jalan Falatehan as well.

I rarely use a credit card in Indonesia, except for buying my weekly groceries at the SOGO Food Hall in Plaza Indonesia, for buying air tickets at my travel agency, and for paying for hotels when I travel to Bali, Yogyakarta, etc.
Unfortunately the theft or credit cards and/or credit card numbers is rampant in Indonesia, so I try to minimize my card use as much as possible. Even if the merchant is honest, the card number can be compromised elsewhere, such as at the processing bank. Earlier in 2008 a prominent Jakarta bank announced that over 15,000 credit cards numbers (including one belonging to me) had been stolen by one of its employees. Luckily nothing had been charged on my card but I still had to cancel my card and arrange to have a new one sent to me from the U.S.
My concerns about using a card at a place like Kartika is both the risk of having the number stolen and a new fake card made up, but more importantly the potential risk of having something like "Kartika Massage Spa" or "Ambassador Gentlemen's Club" appear on the monthly statement - guaranteed to cause problems on the home front!
Solution - pay cash, there's no paper trail, and it's safer.

I just spent three very quick days in Jakarta and as usual I stayed at the Hyatt. From reading all the posts, I got the definite message on the forum that the Hyatt really isn't GF - I am here to report just the opposite.

Had been to Tropical Spa this evening and thought of filing this FR.
Thanks to the directions found on the FRs on ISG, I could reach straight from TransJKT bus Harmony station and then took a Blue Bird. It took 10 minutes to find the location.
After entering and undergoing the usual Shoe keeping and shorts / locker formalities, straightaway went to 2nd floor to pick up a FL. Number of WGs are very less and now a days they have in introduced a body to body massage therapy (with Oil) and cost is Rp250000 plus tips. I personal can see it both ways; I a mixed blood living in Jakarta and I sometimes get discriminated both ways, when I am in the south and I speak a bit bahasa, the girls would be put off by me, as I look somewhat Caucasian. I know that I am not given a free choice at the latter, as the Mamasan calls only those girls who will go with a non-Indonesian to line up. Credit card company do this to protect the consumer ,I always contact my US credit card company before I travel to asia or South america to let them know I will be using my CC there but for my company CC I never have any problems it have a large limit.

I can understand the caution required in using credit cards because of possible scams and thefts of the numbers and the need not to leave a paper trail. My local credit card company is so cautious that if there is a charge of over $100 they phone and since I am only a supplementary card-holder with my wife as the main holder, obviously using the local credit card would lead to a situation too grim to be imagined. But fortunately, I have an Amex card in my name issued in my home country where I am the sole holder. So I can use it and since the entries are quite cryptic such as GAH Spa, the question of an easily followable paper trail does not arise. Amusingly, the bill that I got from Alexis was for Sashimi! I didn't know that the service provided by a Vietnamese girl enjoyed the same name as as Japanese dish! Lol.
But on the larger issue of card safety, one has to balance out the convenience that a card offers versus the probability of scams and possible theft of the number. By minimizing usage, you may reduce the risk but even so the number can be stolen from the bank computer itself. Thus, this could happen even if you were shopping in the Sogo Foodhall or paying your hotel or buying an airline ticket! Yes, I agree with you that one should not use the card in a small hole-in-the-corner establishment but do feel that using it in Alexis is safe as any other hotel.
It was because of this that I had mentioned in my report that cards (incl. Amex which a lot of establishments do not accept) were accepted because someone might need to use it in a situation of emergency .

Has this been a busy week in the forum or what? I was in Jakarta and didn’t check for a few days and suddenly find I have so much reading to do! I would only request that Aakumu check on how to quote other FRs (sorry bro, it made for very confusing reading).
I personally don’t want to say too much on the subject but, much as we may feel it should be an equal world for all of us, it just isn’t. I’m an Asian (albeit sometimes they can’t figure out which part of Asia) and I can assure you that there are places where my custom is better appreciated, and some where I do wonder why I’m there at all. Without being overly vain, I’m still a presentable and reasonably well-maintained 44 year old. Yet in BATS or the Felatehan bars, I would lose out (as a whole) to almost any bule. Just as in Delilah or Tiga Kuda, the Arabs rule the roost. But in the end, does this bother me or put me off Jakarta? Hell no (actually I’m lying – you mean they prefer that fat balding 60 year old to me? Coincidentally, it was unusual for me to find myself in Malioboro on Friday night as this is not my usual scene. However, in the interest of exploring Jakarta further, I sacrificed my comfort level and followed JAD to investigate this establishment. We arrived at 7.45pm and hence had about 15 minutes to wait for the dancing show. When it finally began with 5 or 6 girls (you can tell I was really riveted) dancing in skimpy underwear with an overall lack of real enthusiasm. Not my thing but the guys in the pool could not wait to have them hop into the water with them and blow some money. We then proceeded upstairs where there is a reception area, a TV lounge/theatre behind it, one lounge to the left and one more to the right.
The lounge on the left is for local girls marked as second grade; from what I see, they seem to categorize depending on colour of the skin, skin imperfections, complexion, ability to use make up and possibly ability to socialise and market to the clientele. Pricing here is 350k ST (1 hour) and overnight at 3 tickets (3 X 350k). I assume they also make the lighting and ambience feel a little cheaper since this is clearly economy class here.
The lounge on the right (we’re right in C class here) is brighter with a stage to the right and glass tables for everyone to sit around. The grade I locals are seated to the right in front of the stage (Clearly better grooming and skin). This does not necessarily mean better attitude. Pricing here is 800k ST (1½ hours) with overnight at 2 tickets (2 X 800k). The girls from China, Mongolia(?), Russia, Ukraine and Thailand were seated on the left. The basic rate being 1.5M ST (1½ hours) and overnight at 3 tickets (3 X 1.5M). Some of the Thai girls claim to be models and as such command 1.65M ST and some overnighters being 5 tickets (5 X 1.65M!! Please correct me if I’m wrong here JAD:o). A couple of the Russians/Ukrainians also command the premium of 5 tickets for overnight - they are supposed to be exceptional (but to be honest I didn’t really view them, nor were they identified to me for me to judge).
I tried one of the locals from grade I, and I have to say that even though I "finished", it was hardly the best value for money. The BBBJ was ok and she had a good enough attitude but the GFE was not really there (no FK and no wet pussy, 2nd time I’ve seen lube in Jakarta for pussy use – and I’ve been here regularly since 2003). First off let me apologise for coming back to the thread rather late but I've been out of town all weekend and also let me thank members for their considered replies.
Now just to go on the record I would hate like hell if I was misinterpreted as some sort of arrogant, poke in the chest, "do you know who I am?" type of prick. A newbie with only 6 posts that contain very little useful information, challenging a highly-respected Senior Member with 467 posts - unbelievable!
Well as someone who has RTFF it's pretty obvious that Oyenk has a bone to pick with Tropical spa and tends to pimp Puri Sehat. Personally, I found Oyenk's attack on a new poster's report baseless.
I gotta say my personal experiences with the manager at Puri Sehat have left me less than impressed. On my first visit I went with a local friend of mine. I had a very good session with #28 in a VIP room. As I was showering we got the phone call warning time was up. I said no extension, and my girl informed them we were washing up and would be out shortly. After dressing and going to the counter to settle up, my friend was already waiting.
He was pissed off because the shorted him on time with a call to leave the room while there was 20 minutes still left (these were 90 minute sessions.) But the news was about to get worst. First, I get my bill in which I was charged for an extra session. I questioned why I was being charged a third session when I explicitly said no extension. Then my local friend also got billed for the extra session and he was kicked out of the room early! After getting no where with the staff we asked the manager to come out.
Dedy, came out and proceeded to show me, on my billing slip that difference between my check and check out time was 97 minutes. I was a little miffed, as I have never been charged anywhere else for an extra session when I refused and was already in the shower. He said I should have left immediately and finished my shower downstairs in the locker room.... Asshole, but there was a technicality, So I took my medicine.
But for my friend it was worse. He showed Dedy that the difference between his check in and check out time was only 72 minutes! Of course, Dedy's response was to do the Indo smile and mumble bullshit that this was something he couldn't change. This was an absolute ripoff and ridiculous that Dedy didn't change that bill.
Another time I went there with another westerner. I asked Dedy to help pick a couple girls for us, and to make sure the girls were ok with providing ++ service to the bules. The girls agreed bfore we went to the room, then in the room the girls changed their tunes and refused ++ service. Of course, complaints to Dedy fell on deaf ears. This guy is not customer friendly and a poor manager IMHO. FYI, I speak decent Bahasa and language was not a problem. There are some great girls here, but this place has lost a lot of potential steady biz from this customer. Believe me there are plenty of similar venues where you will get better treatment.

I am not sure how much experience you have in Jakarta, but actually things are very upfront and discussions frank when you discuss services in a massage joint. In most places (including Puri Sehat) they will have some girls who specialize in good massage, other girls who basically can't massage and only do specials, and others who do both (and those girls are usually booked.) Hey I respect a girls right to change her mind about giving services and would never force myself on a girl. But thanks for NOT giving me the benefit of doubt.
However, I do consider a case where the manager and the girl agree to ++ and then the girl changes her mind, I should not be charged or be given the opportunity to change girls. ** with freelance package : the second session with therapist...she usually begs you for tip...hj or fj.
i felt so uncomfortable during that massage session because of her.
so two times is enough for me to decide.
do you still think that "it's pretty obvious that oyenk has a bone to pick with tropical spa and tends to pimp puri sehat" ?
or let me post two unrecommended place in jkt based on some reports here...

Monger, I've never been to Puri Sehat. However, your story sounds almost exactly like what happened to me the one and only time I ever visited Tropical spa. I won't be back to Tropical, and it sounds like I should avoid Puri Sehat as well. There are many good places in town that are well run by good management, so I'm not about to visit places that pull that kind of crap.
I heard rumours that there was a problem between a freelance in Tropical spa and her customer (local monger).
one said this freelance was scamming her customer and other said the freelance was blackmailing her customer...
Though a rumour but sometimes rumour is right !

But. I'm trouble in finding a hotel to my budget 300. 000. 350. 000 per night that is on a good location relative to these spots could any of you give me a good option for this? (or is this budget only going to get me really crappy hotels? I've chosen this budget because I get nice hotels for these rates in Thailand). Once I have chosen a hotel should I book through internet or hassle over there for the lowest price myself?

I've been going to Jakarta a few times & have tried out Delta near Kuningan a few times.
the last trip there i went out late (around 10p.m.) & was denied access to some of the spas along Mangga Besar. Apparently it was closing time but i guess it was the last call of the day.
I've also read some old post that there are some places where they provide 2 girls massage + soapy massage (something like Pink Lady in Hatyai).. but sad to say .. i dunno where is the location .. & how r the rates like.
can any of the senior members recommend me such place as i would be going back to JKT in 2 weeks time.
If not .. i would be trying out Travel Hotel as it seems that place is the best place to be. Although i dun quite understand how does the rates goes there.

You are referring to Kartika Massage, on Jalan Hayam Wuruk just south of the intersection of Jl. Mangga Besar. I've discussed this place regularly for 3 years now, just RTFF my old posts and you'll learn all you need to know.
- your best bet is to get there by 9 or 9:30 p.m. at the latest
- their house rate just increased to 260,000 rupiah per girl plus tip; minimum tip expected by the girls is 50,000 rupiah, so a nice two-girl session will cost you 260,000 x 2 plus 50,000 x 2 = 620,000 rupiah total for a full unrushed hour
- always remember the unwritten rule, that you pick one girl and let her choose who the second girl will be. Otherwise, you risk picking two girls who don't get along with each other or don't work well with each other
- yes, half of the women working here are 30-ish and overweight, but you should find at least 4 or 5 decent looking girls on duty at any given time
- my most recent faves are Cindy and Neneng, but your tastes may differ

Don't choose a hotel in Jakarta based on prices in Thailand!
There are some hotels in the 300,000 to 350,000 rupiah per night but many of them are dumps. Try Hotel Melawai I or Hotel Melawai II both in Blok M, or maybe the nearby Golden Boutique hotel.
The Hotel Caravan near Plaza Indonesia was clean and decent in December 2006 and cost under 200,000 rupiah; however a recent post stated that it's gone downhill.
Please RTFF the Hotels thread to learn more about inexpensive hotels, such as the low-cost places on Jalan Jaksa where the backpackers stay.
Another option would be to wait until you arrive at the airport in Jakarta and check the prices at the "Hotel Reservations" desk near baggage, as you may find some bargains there.
And Smoothy is right, if your non-lodging budget is 150,000 rupiah, then you not only won't be having much sex (unless you are incredibly lucky), you also won't be eating much unless you eat street food or at McDonald's all of the time.
Yers there are some low-priced girls available in the bars on Jalan Jaksa, but as respected Senior Member Bulai69 has written, many girls who you meet elsewhere might refuse to go back to your hotel with you if they hear that you're staying at a backpacker hotel on Jalan Jaksa.
RTFF and check out a post I wrote around 3-4 months ago about having sex with a woman I met at a streetside cafe near the Tanah Abang train station; that's all you are going to be able to afford sex-wise unless you increase your budget!

btw, one further point. has the scene changed somewhat, as i was in le meridian a few saturdays weeks ago and the girls there don't seem so full on nowadays. years back it was talk talk talk of getting out of there and the price, nowadays it seems more cagey and suitble.

The northern part of Jakarta is where the the vast majority of Indo Chinese people live. So it's only natural that in that part you'll find the Indo Chinese WG's and FL's.
For a watering hole south of Monas, I've been digging in my memory, but the only possibility I could think of, is a take-away from Hartono. Rather expensive though.
Maybe you can try to find/conquer non-WG's/FL's in the posh bar/discoteques In Plaza Senayan, Senayan City or Plaza Semanggi.

The guy at the counter collected Rp.300,000 from me and said that they have increased the fee wef past 1 month.
Have any body paid similar amount in the past 2-3 weeks?

other option to find local chinese gals is mtr 2 in kelapa gading area (branch of mtr in pangeran jayakarta), rate around 500,000 rupiahs minimal...they are freelance in mtr 2...for local rate around 300,000 rupiahs minimal.
* rate for bm cafe 250,000 rupiahs (for girl 180,000 rupiahs and for room 70,000 rupiahs).
note: the local number in bh spa should have been 89 not 68, sorry i edited it !
note: two unrecommended place in jkt based on some reports here...
