Anyway the session was great, as good a go as I got at Malio and whilst she was very inexperienced she was extremely willing to be coached and I got some services that more long-term girls might have refused.
However in the morning I couldn't help thinking about that ten lady-drink thing, was the papasan chancing his arm or is it the going rate, on top of the usual, to pay ten lady drinks to take a dancer off the floor? It's only fifty bucks or so but principal matters, I don't mind paying the girl but I object to being ripped off by the management.
I realize that hindsight is 20-20, but at this point you could have stopped the action, picked up the phone, and complained to the mamasan. The mamasan is a business person who understands that "customer is king" and will do what is necessary to fix the situation, which could include talking with the girl, taking the girl away so that you have only a 1-girl session, replacing the girl, etc.Maybe justified in a situation like that: but I'd always think twice about complaining to a Mamasan. I'd only do it if I thought the girl was being outright sneaky or dishonest or wilfully uncooperative. If it's just mediocre service, then I tend to, well, ride it out and store away the details for next time and make a different choice. Not sayin' anything against anyone who operates otherwise, but I don't want to get a girl in trouble just because she's untalented, only if she's being a blitch.

i urge you to check out hotel travel, which has been discussed extensively on isg.
also, there are over a dozen lower-end places located in four side-by-side alleys off of jalan hayam wuruk, just south of the intersection with jalan mangga besar. the first alley contains kartika (soapy massage) , berlian and royal mas, the next alley contains tin-tin and several others, the third alley has some other mps and the fourth alley includes the entrance to the infamous stadium, which has an mp on the 3rd floor and a night club on the 4th floor that runs 24 hours a day over the weekend.
hotel malioboro is located less than a km south of stadium, right on the main street and busline, and has also been written about extensively. it's a higher-end mp, similar to alexis.
there are many other places located on or just off of jalan mangga besar, including oasis and others, and other mps rep001tered around the north / central part of town.
another option is the kelapa gading neighborhood, which is northeast from where you are. there's a clump of 4-5 medium-to-high-end mps located here, all on the same side street. i went there a few times in 2007 and wrote several posts about my visits here on isg, but never made it back, primarily because it took over an hour by taxi each way from where i worked (near plaza indonesia) and where i lived (kuningan area). luckily for you, kelapa gading shouldn't be more than 10-15 minutes away from your hotel, depending on traffic of course.
the cost of a taxi from the north to blok m varies depending on traffic and how long you are actually in the cab, but should cost less than 50, 000 rupiah. an alternative for travel one way would be to take the transjakarta bus, line #1 starts up north in kota and runs straight down to blok m in 45 minutes or less, and is an interesting experience. note: this bus line shuts down around 10 pm.
a note on taxis: always try to take bluebird taxis, or express. most of the other taxi companies are not as reliable as these two.

Anyway, let's move onto some info. For those of you looking to spice up your action, I might recommend a total gem of an underwear shop with "uniforms" at Plaza Semanggi Ground Floor. Slender Boutique. Super selection and reasonable prices. A few years ago I went through a serious "dress up play" phase. Bought a huge assortment of uniform sets for my squeeze-cum-pimpette. Not only was she a sweet little model, but she brought me dozens of her teen friends who acted as models for pics and video. Thanks for the information. I've looked all over Jakarta for some "clothes" like this and have come up short. There is a high end place in Grand Indo. La Senza I think is the name. I also heard about another high end place at Pacific Place, can't remember the name right now. Haven't had much luck finding your run of the mill Frederick's of Hollywood style. I for sure haven't found any place where you can buy toys. Only through the mail. I do like special clothes and fun toys.

i promised earlier a comparison of these establishments, here it is for everyone to comment and react to. this is base on 4 visits and 9 different girls at malioboro, and 6 visits to illigals with 15 girls. i may add that there is a lot being said and written about malioboro, which is very much in the jakarta landscape; but illigals doesn't seem to be so highly regarded. basically it's not regarded at all, and i feel it deserves to. there is some subjectivity in my assessment, i welcome different or dissenting views.
1. surroundings.
access to malioboro is easy, a bit too easy since the entrance is right on the avenue. not the most discreet. besides, the parking is often full, so that you'd have to park nearby and walk up to the front entrance. going out they would ask for a passing taxi to stop while you wait at the entrance or outside.
access to illigals spa is either through the back of the building, ground floor (the front is starbucks and domino pizza) , there you go through the security check for the club. i suppose my condoms show very well on the x-ray machine; i was once asked what was the liquids in my bag: shower gel and shampoo, i don't like to come back home smelling theirs. or you get in directly through the parking building at the back, where there always is enough room. going out you may ask them to call a taxi from the yellow cabs parked in the premises, much more comfortable.

2. entrance.
malioboro's front desk is a bunch of smiling ladies and tattoed muscle. coming in they would hand over a bracelet with a key (a metal key). then you'd turn right, pass a door, turn left, right again into the locker room, then you follow the same path out but stop 2 yards before the door and take the stairs up, or go ahead to the bathroom. did i loose you? well i'm still regularly lost, i even once came out from the rooms upstairs, wearing the standard shorts, kimono and slippers, took the lift down to lantai 1 and ended up at the front desk.
illigals front desk is a bunch of smiling ladies and sometime older, smiling muscle. they hand over an electronic key, you would turn right from the desk into the way to the locker room, and from there there is only one door into the lounge.

3. lounge.
malioboro has two lounges. on the right hand side are supposedly the high-end girls, in a well-lit place divided into two levels. there is a stage at the middle of the upper level, where so far i never saw anything happening, but i guess i had the timing wrong. you don't see much of what's happening or who happens to be at the other level. you may have a glimpse at the line-ups ordered by other patrons, though. but when you ask for a line up the girls are in plain light.
the other lounge, on the left-hand side, is the not so high-end, cheaper girls. it's smokey, more noisy and darker, but it's a corridor shaped room so you don't see much of the girls untill they're brought to you. besides, once you have been in that second lounge (at the latest, i may say) you realize that the high-end girls are not so much better. i'll get more into the girls in part 2. once you have a deal the girls would escort you out of the lounge, by the very busy and well lit stairs.
illigals has one lounge, with u-shaped sofas for the girls and others for the clients. it doesn't take much effort to have a look at who is there waiting for your patronage. the light is scarcer, so more discretion also means a bit less to see in a line up, but frankly i believe they have the right balance there. in the middle of the lounge is a stage with the bubble bath etc, and this is also where they have a live show every hour starting 6. 30 pm. this place is darker, you'd see enough of the dancers but i think it's not enough for a proper line up. once you have a deal the girls would escort you to the room upstairs through a corridor, the stairs being at the back, so you don't meet that many people on the way.

4. rooms.
malioboro has basically two sorts of rooms, you don't have a choice. some are tiny hotel rooms, with the bath behind a wall, a decent-sized tv set (usual channels plus one celebrating malioboro with gorgeous girls that i never ever saw there). beds are ok, sheets are ok, bathrooms are a bit run-down, light may be scarce. some other rooms are treatment rooms (remember: they are therapist giving you a massage) , with a bed on some sort of stage, an open shower (not so practical) , i twice had a room where the shower was glass-walled. there is no such thing as a mirror (in some rooms a small one next to the sink). these are well lit, unless the girls switch off most lights, which usually they try (and sometimes they have reason for that).
illigals is much newer. all rooms are more or less the same, on the ground floor (massages) or upstairs (kinky business, though all rooms have a sign on the door saying "dilarang berbuat asusila", meaning "behave"). they are large hotel bedrooms, with a large glass-walled bathroom and more secluded toilets, a large tv set (usual channels plus porn on channel 69). the style is a bit of modern marie antoinette (maybe they hired the same decorator as hotel indonesia, if you need a point of comparison) , it's all clean and working well. the light is a bit scarce to my taste, but there is a mirror around the tv in front of you, and another one where you'd store your things, clothes etc. with a little bit of organization you can usually enjoy the show.

5. accounting.
on the way out you have to pay for your deeds. illigals accepts all majors credit cards and cash. i once had a problem with one of my cards, but when i took the control of their machine it went through (yes, pakai pin means use the pin, if you don't the damn thing won't work, girl). they give you one bill with drinks, another with the rest, and a recap. this is all easy to read, and hop you pay (remember: smiling muscle is there, plus you still need to walk up to the lift, so you need your legs and all of your bones intact). if you pay by credit card the billing is quite discreet. i once had my bank calling to check whether my card had been misused, and they could find out much from the info on the card billing. i tried back-tracking it for fun, apart from an address nothing pops up.
malioboro also takes major credit cards, i had the same issue with the accounting girl (wearing a trainee badge) not knowing how to handle a credit card, and shying away from asking, which was the wrong reaction. they give you one detailed bill with all non f and b on it (including the precise times of booking, with mistakes sometimes: i don't believe i shagged therapist ckmdl001 (for cionkok model 001, see my field report earlier) one minute only). but they print another bill on a different machine, which is the complement to the real price; so you have to figure out that 200. 000 adds up with the 150. 000 on the official bill to get your girl at 350. 000; and the 1. 300. 000 adds up with the 450. 000 of another girl, and 39. 000 would be your drink; and these 6. 000 i have no idea. this may be more discreet if your pembantu or your wife finds it, but if she finds the other bill she'd find out anyway ("paket sandwich" from malioboro is quite a hint). however the name appearing on your credit card bill is quite discreet.

i promised earlier a comparison of these establishments, here it is for everyone to comment and react to. this is base on 4 visits and 9 different girls at malioboro, and 6 visits to illigals with 15 girls. i may add that there is a lot being said and written about malioboro, which is very much in the jakarta landscape; but illigals doesn't seem to be so highly regarded. basically it's not regarded at all, and i feel it deserves to. there is some subjectivity in my assessment, i welcome different or dissenting views.
1. surroundings.
access to malioboro is easy, a bit too easy since the entrance is right on the avenue. not the most discreet. besides, the parking is often full, so that you'd have to park nearby and walk up to the front entrance. going out they would ask for a passing taxi to stop while you wait at the entrance or outside.
access to illigals spa is either through the back of the building, ground floor (the front is starbucks and domino pizza) , there you go through the security check for the club. i suppose my condoms show very well on the x-ray machine; i was once asked what was the liquids in my bag: shower gel and shampoo, i don't like to come back home smelling theirs. or you get in directly through the parking building at the back, where there always is enough room. going out you may ask them to call a taxi from the yellow cabs parked in the premises, much more comfortable.

2. entrance.
malioboro's front desk is a bunch of smiling ladies and tattoed muscle. coming in they would hand over a bracelet with a key (a metal key). then you'd turn right, pass a door, turn left, right again into the locker room, then you follow the same path out but stop 2 yards before the door and take the stairs up, or go ahead to the bathroom. did i loose you? well i'm still regularly lost, i even once came out from the rooms upstairs, wearing the standard shorts, kimono and slippers, took the lift down to lantai 1 and ended up at the front desk.
illigals front desk is a bunch of smiling ladies and sometime older, smiling muscle. they hand over an electronic key, you would turn right from the desk into the way to the locker room, and from there there is only one door into the lounge.

3. lounge.
malioboro has two lounges. on the right hand side are supposedly the high-end girls, in a well-lit place divided into two levels. there is a stage at the middle of the upper level, where so far i never saw anything happening, but i guess i had the timing wrong. you don't see much of what's happening or who happens to be at the other level. you may have a glimpse at the line-ups ordered by other patrons, though. but when you ask for a line up the girls are in plain light.
the other lounge, on the left-hand side, is the not so high-end, cheaper girls. it's smokey, more noisy and darker, but it's a corridor shaped room so you don't see much of the girls untill they're brought to you. besides, once you have been in that second lounge (at the latest, i may say) you realize that the high-end girls are not so much better. i'll get more into the girls in part 2. once you have a deal the girls would escort you out of the lounge, by the very busy and well lit stairs.
illigals has one lounge, with u-shaped sofas for the girls and others for the clients. it doesn't take much effort to have a look at who is there waiting for your patronage. the light is scarcer, so more discretion also means a bit less to see in a line up, but frankly i believe they have the right balance there. in the middle of the lounge is a stage with the bubble bath etc, and this is also where they have a live show every hour starting 6. 30 pm. this place is darker, you'd see enough of the dancers but i think it's not enough for a proper line up. once you have a deal the girls would escort you to the room upstairs through a corridor, the stairs being at the back, so you don't meet that many people on the way.

4. rooms.
malioboro has basically two sorts of rooms, you don't have a choice. some are tiny hotel rooms, with the bath behind a wall, a decent-sized tv set (usual channels plus one celebrating malioboro with gorgeous girls that i never ever saw there). beds are ok, sheets are ok, bathrooms are a bit run-down, light may be scarce. some other rooms are treatment rooms (remember: they are therapist giving you a massage) , with a bed on some sort of stage, an open shower (not so practical) , i twice had a room where the shower was glass-walled. there is no such thing as a mirror (in some rooms a small one next to the sink). these are well lit, unless the girls switch off most lights, which usually they try (and sometimes they have reason for that).
illigals is much newer. all rooms are more or less the same, on the ground floor (massages) or upstairs (kinky business, though all rooms have a sign on the door saying "dilarang berbuat asusila", meaning "behave"). they are large hotel bedrooms, with a large glass-walled bathroom and more secluded toilets, a large tv set (usual channels plus porn on channel 69). the style is a bit of modern marie antoinette (maybe they hired the same decorator as hotel indonesia, if you need a point of comparison) , it's all clean and working well. the light is a bit scarce to my taste, but there is a mirror around the tv in front of you, and another one where you'd store your things, clothes etc. with a little bit of organization you can usually enjoy the show.

5. accounting.
on the way out you have to pay for your deeds. illigals accepts all majors credit cards and cash. i once had a problem with one of my cards, but when i took the control of their machine it went through (yes, pakai pin means use the pin, if you don't the damn thing won't work, girl). they give you one bill with drinks, another with the rest, and a recap. this is all easy to read, and hop you pay (remember: smiling muscle is there, plus you still need to walk up to the lift, so you need your legs and all of your bones intact). if you pay by credit card the billing is quite discreet. i once had my bank calling to check whether my card had been misused, and they could find out much from the info on the card billing. i tried back-tracking it for fun, apart from an address nothing pops up.
malioboro also takes major credit cards, i had the same issue with the accounting girl (wearing a trainee badge) not knowing how to handle a credit card, and shying away from asking, which was the wrong reaction. they give you one detailed bill with all non f and b on it (including the precise times of booking, with mistakes sometimes: i don't believe i shagged therapist ckmdl001 (for cionkok model 001, see my field report earlier) one minute only). but they print another bill on a different machine, which is the complement to the real price; so you have to figure out that 200. 000 adds up with the 150. 000 on the official bill to get your girl at 350. 000; and the 1. 300. 000 adds up with the 450. 000 of another girl, and 39. 000 would be your drink; and these 6. 000 i have no idea. this may be more discreet if your pembantu or your wife finds it, but if she finds the other bill she'd find out anyway ("paket sandwich" from malioboro is quite a hint). however the name appearing on your credit card bill is quite discreet.

That is a lot of cash to carry in your wallet! Besides, there is no risk in paper trail as they use a non-suspicious name in their billing. Anyway, have used my card numerous times at Malioboro and even at more seedy places like PangJay and never had any problems.

thanks for the comments, here comes part 2. i hope this sparks some debate and reactions too.
1. massage.
malioboro offers several types of massages, panda meaning chinese therapist, and local meaning, well, local. i have tried two of them. one was a legit massage, i chose four hands and had one decent but chubby girl (a beginner) , and one huge, energetic lady. four hands massage is obviously not a usual practice there. at some point they offered a hj, which i declined, since i had been drained by a very nice thai girl before, and was about to be further taken care of by two girls. the second started as a legit massage, but the crazy chinese girl offered more, actually she offered everything but anal for, if i remember well. 700k. she was fun and active, nice ar by the way, and actually decent massage too. you don't choose the girl, you don't know what you're up for, which to me is a part of the fun; and i guess some girls don't offer much because they know that you can shag a colleague of theirs for not too much.

illigals has about 10 girls among locals and 10 among imported girls, plus the therapists (from the lists i saw there are about 20 of them, maybe not all of them on duty at the same time) and the dancers (about two shifts of 4-5, but they don't work all evenings, so over a we you may see about 20 dancers). there is so renewing there, a bit slower in the imported section, and the imports are from china only, so far.

4. prices.
i mentioned earlier that the billing at malioboro is a pain in the neck. the prices should be lower in the local, lower-end section, and higher in the other section. but it seems that some of the lower-end section end up in the other section, so that quality and prices would vary quite a lot. a recent visit was between 350k for really average girls (i think i had a cut in the price because i took two) to 2 millions for a not so amazing chinese model. i believe the price range is too varied and so is the quality, so i'd rather pay a bit more that 350k and always have a nice experience.
illigals charges in a smaller range. dancers are now 1, 5jt (if i remember well they were 1, 2 some weeks ago) , fl are 815k (they used to be around 700k).
malioboro 1 (cheap for cheap quality and overpriced at the other end) , illigals 1 (not cheap but consistent prices and quality).

The girls usually love to freeze, I usually don't, so I try and save the environment and keep AC at a minimum. Both Illigals and Malioboro have AC in the rooms, of course.
I would think that at Illigals 3 girls would easily fit on the bed with you (I take it that you're not an 8-ft 300 lbs giant, are you?) , and more in the room (waiting for their turn while playing cards?). At Malioboro it really depends on the type of room you have, but I feel 3 girls would be a maximum in the bed and in most of the rooms.
I haven't visited these places at very different hours, and usually on weekdays I work (to earn the money I spend with them). At Fortune a girl told me that weekdays are extremely busy because of the post-work karaoke (sometimes ending in a bed) , I suppose this may be the case at the two establishments I review here. Did a scan of mainstream porn sites (for research purposes only, the things I do for you guys) the type that provide links to "tubes", ie short clips, about one in ten of the links came up blocked by FastNet, this however is just the beginning presumably the enforcers can search just as easily as I can and can block even more. This being Indonesia I have no doubt that within a week we'll have a way around this.

As I have had a good read through this great forum before hand I am confident I will have a blast. I am mindful of the bad traffic, so am unsure where to stay, wanting something 5 star and there seems to be good options, just not sure where I am best to be so I don't have to spend half my trip in a cab.

I was in Jakarta around New Years, and I never got around to posting my review, so I figured I'd do that now.
I was in town for Five Nights, and I tried to make the most of it, really.
First night, I arrived late, so nothing really happened. I grabbed some food from my hotel's room service and then crashed out for the next day.
Second day, I met up with a girl from a dating website, and we went and had some lunch, caught a film, and had a coffee. The real good places are up in Kota.I think it depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a bordello where you pay for sex by the hour and don't establish much of a conversation or relationship with the girl, Kota is great. The girls are young and prices are cheap. Blok M and Red Square are much more likely places to find the latter mentioned. I will say though that the last time I visited Blok M, I didn't see even a single stunner. But I left by 11:30pm that night so things weren't hopping yet. The last time I went to Red Square, the only hot girls were the sexy dancers that were paid to entertain the people there. But I have seen stunners there in the past. I think the best looking girls can be found at X2 and Dragon Fly. But they aren't as easy to pick up in those places.

I was quite frequent to Jakarta till 2010 & a regular visitor to Stadium. Music used to be great & also occasionally you cud find amazing chicks who can they go with you for 300000 rupiah for an hour. Am in Jakarta after 15 months next week. Just a bit of advice, Try to go around 3 PM just before rush hour or 6 PM (with Taxi) as there are 3 person minimum car rule imposed at 16:30. 19:00 and taxis can use those lanes which helped traffic considerably. Try as bad as you can to use Blue Bird and tell the driver to use any means necessary to avoid traffic. .
However the traffic after 8 PM is not as bad as described.
Would recommend Alila for the excellent rooms, or try Alexis. The room is nice, they have a nice club at ground level (a few Caucasians tho, not as much as Red Square, however this is one of the few place in town that has Striptease now ever since the tough crackdowns on stripteases performance in any place.) The 3rd Floor is Karaoke. And The 5th floor is some sort of Massage / Red-rope-shangai-esque service place. And the 7th floor is the infamous Bathouse which is the classiest bordello in town. The access to Kota from Alexis is also easy, but its far from Sudirman / or Senayan area. Even further away to Blok M.
M-Star is a not-quite-so-new one-stop entertainment place. 300k or 550k a pop, with free facilities and they even have a massage place which I never use, and REALLY near Alexis. Think of it like Classic Terminal with fewer choice and crowd.
It's 270k, not 300k. Still best deal in town, I think.It's 400k for two. If the rooms were bigger, would get the rate quote for three. But, the volume on these girls is heavy. Good deal or not, you're likely to be rubbing off someone else's perspiration.

Went to Jakarta for the weekend and this was my experience at Golden Crown.
Arrived, payed the 35k cover charge and proceeded inside to the main disco where the music was techno / doof doof or whatever they call it these days. Waiter brought the drinks and a glass of ice. As the waiter brought the drink, I didn't notice anything amiss. Can't remember if the can was opened when it arrived. She typed in 300k on her phone and showed it to me. I said I was only their to drink. Anyway, scoped out the place for another hour. Thats a long time so if my drink was spiked I dunno if the effects take that long to take effect. I got a bit bored and decided to walk into the lobby and close to the stairs a foreigner approached me and said he was glad to see another foreigner to talk to.

Altough you lost some valuables, but still considered lucky. That kind of tricks usually happened when we travelled on bus. Many victims even not awake for days, some were dead. As to your TV watching Oasis experience, you must have had exactly the same girl I had. Oasis (in Mangga Besar) has been refurbished and it's looking quite well, they now have a good "40% discount" deal which gets you a boby-body massage, full service, followed by a regular massage, purportedly lasting two and a half hours, for a mere Rp 395, 000.
It's certainly a good deal but be sure and keep control over it or you might feel somewhat underwhelmed by the experience. These stories are common all over SE Asia. I have heard the same story in Thailand & Macau. In Macau I had a couple guy come up to me all extra friendly and acting like they were having so much fun and one guy tried to pass me his beer when mine was finished. His trick was that he was not drinking it. He would only put it up to his mouth to pretend that he was. I like to keep my awareness up on things and I noticed the weight of the aluminum can to be lighter than apparently full like he made it look.
I think basically they need enough time to get the power in the drink and dissolve it. So the usually prepare it beforehand. Bottom line is especially when you are traveling alone DO NOT take any drink from a stranger. One better keep you drink with you at all times aswell. The thing these criminals do is when the effect starts to knock you out they act like your friend to everybody around and make it look like they are helping thier drunken mate. They often like to steal passports aswell.

How the heck did you end up choosing that place as one of the spots to hit on your first visit to Jakarta? Any place where an ecstacy high is the main attraction for people attending is going to have thieves and scammers. I've had guys try to pick my pockets in there hoping that I was high. But I've never done X in there nor had anything to drink there other than bottled water. For a first visit to Jakarta, I would think Golden Crown is a little over the top. That's the kind of place I wouldn't recommend unless you went with a friend who spoke Bahasa Indonesia.

Where is the Golden Crown?Hi, yes in Glodok plaza, very easy to find. I have not been there for a long time, but it is one of the older nightclubs in the kota. About 10 years and a little bit more seedy than Stadium. It seems to be popular now- at least going by what I read on jakarta 100 bars. It rates it quite high and marks it as "one of the safe places to go, if you don't know the city". Well, as you may read in the comment section of the blog, below, about it's security and safety, I much doubt all will agree with that.

Having explored pretty much the entire town now and felt like I missed out by not going to Crown, I decided to take a look and see what the fuss is about. To sum up this report, I was very dissappointed.
Headed to Glodok on Saturday night around 11 PM. The taxi I hailed knew where Crown was immediately, so it seems to be well-known around town. In the third floor or so after I took the elevator there was a security check. They are really strict and made me take off my belt. In addition, they wouldn't let me in with my footwear as they thought it was too shallow. Had to rent a a worn-out pair of shoes which they saw fit for 30, 000 IDR. Totally different from Stadium, where nobody even bothers checking anything.
Paid my ticket which I can't remember how much but it included a free beer.
Anyway, it's just a normal disco where the classy locals hang out, most of them Chinese-Indos. There is a lounge area with live band also but it's definitely for groups only. It seems overall at Crown that it's just groups of people hanging out together. I made contact with a few spinners (nearly all of them were occupied with their handphones) at the entrance of the disco area and from what we were able to communicate with they made it clear they were not hookers or anything, just waiting for friends. Maybe it's because I looked like a local to them but these girls wouldn't even open up for casual conversation with my limited Bahasa, which is different from Stadium where I did manage to strike up conversation with several girls at ease and even took a freebie home once.
Oh, and they have this weird way of ordering drinks through a computer. I couldn't figure it out.
HThere is a lounge area with live band also but it's definitely for groups only.I don't know about that. That's the area I normally hang out in. That's where they have the topless dancers.

JAKARTA: German national Bobby Johnson. 35, says he was robbed after he was sedated by two men he just met at a bar on Saturday.
According to Johnson's statement to the Jakarta Police, the robbers were unidentified French men whom he met at a bar in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, as reported by kompas. Com on Tuesday.
Johnson said the culprits stole his iPhone; a Hamilton watch; about US$150 in Euros; Singapore dollars and rupiah; and four credit cards. It is unclear whether the culprits used his credit cards to make fraudulent transactions.
He also reported that $5, 580 was withdrawn from his DBS bank account from an ATM at the lobby of a hotel in Central Jakarta.
According to the police report, Johnson was at the bar engaged in small talk with the men, who offered him an orange juice when he was about to leave.
Johnson then said he lost consciousness after consuming the beverage.
The men then reportedly asked a taxi driver to take Johnson to a hotel in South Jakarta where he was staying, telling the driver that Johnson was drunk.
Johnson regained consciousness on Sunday night only to find that his belongings were gone.

While we're talking about prices in CJs, it also depends on how they read you as a punter. Are you experienced in Jakarta or a newbie? Do you know your prices? Are you confident with what you say? Is it getting late? What other prospects do there seem to be in the bar? After getting friendly with a couple of them (always try and act the gentleman even if things weren't great. I will talk very frankly and just say maybe we're just not compatible, but now that you know what I'm like, let me know whether you have any friends who might be a good match) and I can always get a decent price (max 700k a night, sometimes 500k) from them or their friends that they recommend.

Second day went soso. Correction : started not good but ended excellent
1st activity of the day was meeting with one of the DIA contacts in the afternoon around 4 PM, which my work schedule allowed for.

Eventhough those women are sometimes totally different then the ones you meet in hardcore bars, I seriously doubt "they never even heard of them". All jakarta girls know these place even if they almost never or never go to them. They usually pretend at first they do not. I'm new to Indonesia. When I saw a post about hotel travel I realised it is walking distance to my hotel and hence I walked there.
