Just curious: is this the Hesti (she was previously at Stadium) you referred to?I am not sure, the picture is not too clear. But she used to call me 'Kokoh' before she started calling me 'Gendut'. i've recently been to jakarta for a short trip combined with bali. although i'm mostly interested in regular girls, which there is an abundance of, i did visit a couple of clubs. i'll give a quick overview of the venues i visited;
bats (shangri-la) :
well known to all, visited on a sunday night and it was about 50% full, no entry requested. the band was great with a mix of recent songs and old rock classics. girl to guy ratio about 3 to 1. mix of regular expat couples on their night out to the obvious bule's looking for that nights entertainment. quality of the girls average with in my opinion only 3 doable girls in that night. one girl was seriously wasted and going crazy right in front of the band which provided some good laughs of the patrons.

visited on a monday, they did have a first drink charge but was waived as one of the bartenders is a friend of a friend. in we went and there was only an average dj playing. quality of the girls higher than in bats however mostly on the lookout for koreans or japanese. didn't really like the feel of the place, stayed for 2 drinks and went off to stadium.
stadium:
legendary club in jakarta's nightlife. entry on monday was 50k including a free drink. dark, dirty, drugs & hookers. great music, i'm still listening the downloaded livesets and the remixes made by the resident dj's are often played in clubs all over the world. it is a very seedy place where people mainly come to get high on x and harder stuff which can simply be bought off the staff. they basically have some mamasans walking around whom you explain your requirements to and within a few minutes she'll come back with 2 or 3 choices. my requirements were: indo-chinese, average to tall size with medium breasts, a choice of 4 girls within a few minutes and one who'm i rated an 8 was chosen. we went down a floor (or 2?) to a room, spend 1, 5 hour doing various exercises and parted ways. damage was 300k.

the place is darker & seedier than stadium. visited on two occasions during my week in jakarta, both nights were absolutely rocking and the place was packed. i think the regular entrance is 50k on weekends but we entered through a backdoor with my friends connections. the place has a dangerous feel, the people have a very different look than the regulars at stadium, think full of tattoos, lots of piercings at strange places, half shaven heads and most people are very afraid of light etc. the main room is under renovation and will be opened in december, however there is a part of the dance floor as well as a smaller room open. you can also rent private rooms one floor up.
on the first night that we were there, there was a police raid at 05:30am, however this was pre-announced through the music system (indonesian language only) so everyone conveniently had time to get rid of their "stuff". i did not see any other foreigners on both nights, but was told that they do occasionally pop in.
drugs are prevalent, as is prostitution. an extremely serious warning that there are very, very wrong things happening regarding heavily ****d girls. i was propositioned by a 13 year old girl who wanted to hold "jr" while taking a leak for 10k. i have heard from my friends that this is not an exception and that they are willing to do much more than just holding him. please do not participate in this, for morality reasons as well as set-up reasons.

I have been to hotel travel more than 10 time last 4 yr I alway paid when I leave never paid up front, is this a new policy they have at hotel travel, I don't think there are any age policy at either of this place most girl are over 18 you don't see any girl older than 30 here.

Maybe early afternoon is not the best time to visit 2nd floor, better to visit basement. There is a stall there that sells "Obat Pria". It looks deserted, but usually the keeper is sleeping on the floor behind the counter. You can buy Viagra and Cialis there, besides other brands. Looks pretty real to me, complete with sealed bottles and instructions for use attached to them. If you want to buy more than one bottle of Viagra (30 pills) the shopkeeper has to go and get additional supplies. He is usually back in less than 10 minutes.

Fourthly. They are used to and bored with the polite Indonesian guys. They want someone to sweep them off their feet. Someone daring to show them an adventure.

Lastly. But this is the reverse of all the above.
The rich girls. Those who are from well to do families and are almost match-made from young to be married off to another rich family. Hey, even the second rated ones are good. Pondok Indah mall. Anggrek city. Pacific Place.
It's easy to just do a pick up anywhere in those malls but the best places are the typical English speakers hang outs. Starbucks, English book shops, sandwich shops, English lesson schools.
Or the women hangouts. Hair salon, Shoe shops, trendy branded shops. Basically, see a shop with lot's of young women, go in!
(And do what after entering you ask? Well, since I started doing this, I have been into manicure, pedicure, say I'm buying shoes for my sister, checking on clothes for my boss' mistress and a million other lies. The manicure is the only thing I truly enjoy.)
Now comes the next challenge. Spotting a willing local takes a lot of time and talent. And I have not yet perfected my recce SOP. So I do the next best thing. I let them spot me.

- despite all of the favorable reports about Hotel Travel here on ISG and elsewhere, the vast majority of the customers at Hotel Travel are local Indonesians, not foreigners. Also, many of the girls here are "barely-legal" (18 to 21 years old) , from Indramayu or another rural village, and speak little or no English, thus they're a bit timid. So I'm not surprised to read that many of the girls are afraid to go with a "bule" (foreigner).
A monger's best bet here is to ask the mamasan to recommend one or more girls who are comfortable going with foreigners, or to choose one (or two) of the girls who show interest in you.
Or, go to a place which has a lot of foreign customers and where the girls are over 21 and probably speak some English, such as Kartika or Maribaya (Hotel Melawai) , as most of the girls in those places will aggressively pursue your business.

Before 21 the parent can still sue you on behalf of the girl for kidnapping.

I remember staying at a GF's house in Depok, her parents found out and sent the police around. She was 26 at the time. Major hassle. Most of them (but not all) have a pharmacy with a seperate counter, where most of the brands are available. This way you can be pretty sure that you get what you paid for. I know the aptek in Jl Legian in Kuta and last time they tried to sell me Viagra, which was such a bad imitation that you could see it from far away (but at full price!). Also do not trust all these guys that try to sell it along the streets, there is a lot of fake at the market.

But I'll take on the last question: practically nowhere in Jakarta is a "walking precinct". However, many brave mongers will manage to stagger across the road from Top Gun to D's without coming to too much grief, if that counts.
The worst things about Jakarta. There is no "walking precinct" red light district like you find in Thailand or the Philippines and the traffic is horrible to get from one spot to another. Gonzo's right that the closest thing to that is Blok M Jalan Pelatehan where you can walk between Top Gun, D's Place, Highway to Elle and My Bar (all right next to each other).
I wouldn't really say there is a defined red light district anywhere in the city. But there are places with that kind of action all over. Usually a stand alone building where you can go in and have a good time like Malioboro or Hotel Classic. But to drive from one to the other will take you some time.
The best bars depends on your ethnicity. Since you are Australian, I assume that Bats at the Hotel Shangri La and CJs in hotel Mulia are the best pick up spots with working girls. If you are young thirties and below, you will be able to easily pick up girls at Dragonfly, Immigrant and X2. If you are over that age, you may want to stick to Bats and CJs.

maxwas there earlier this week. the spa is not quite as upscale as delta in terms of facilities, and bar / lounge area is dimly lit, have only ever seen local patrons in there, but the rooms (i have only taken vip. cost about 350k incl massage) are very clean with shower / toilet in the room. therapists i have had have all been 7's or 8's imo and two out of four that i have tried have been gfe who i would definitely repeat with. ages have been 19 to 24. all have offered hj and fs with only one declining bj as she claimed she had a tooth problem. three of the four were willing to provide handphone numbers. again ymmv but i have not yet left feeling dissapointed.

The stunners are going to ask for more money than the dogs. I think on any given night, there "may" be 2 or 3 true stunners in either of those bars.
General rule of thumb for Malioboro is 350k for an indo girl. 800k for an upper quality indo girl, and something like 1. 7
Million for an hour with an import girl (Russian, spanish, thai, Chinese, vietnamese). Hotel Classic is 270k for an hour with one girl. 400k for 2 girls at the same time. Hotel Travel is similar to Hotel Classic. All of these girls will expect at least a 50k tip at the end if they weren't horrible.
Hotel Melawai (Blok M) has a knock shop on the 6th floor called Maribaya. I believe their price is 450k or 500k for an hour. It's the only place like that in that area of town. The girls at Malioboro, Classic, Travel and other such places up north have

Well soon I will go to jakarta again for two weeks.
I mostly know medan, but I am no total stranger to jakarta. Medan is like GF pickup paradise (although sometimes it feels like everybody knows eachother) and shady but nice BJ spa's. Actually in most spa's the BJ already is included in the 1. 5 hour 140000 massage with bathing after. Tips up to you. Street pickup just gives ya drug addicts and karaoke girls are usually all 9 and 10's but over 1. 5 mll IDR.
Before I get to my questions I would first to share the various options I tried in the past in Jakarta:
- Online dating which works perfect if you have a long time in jakarta, meeting up with 2-4 different girls a week, get GF experience and if one is really good, just hanging around or travel with her. My favourite option. They make the best GF's in terms of sweetness and sex, even if you are not sure if they have other BF's. Honestly, most of them do have 2 or 3 other BF's as they often told me 1 year after, no offense and still good connections though. There are some gems also who are all yours. Usually they are less then 24y, have new accounts and if you ask where they go out. Well the good ones almost never go out. And if you mention BATS or CJ's they will say it is no good there. Depends what kind of GF you want. But not enough time. Nor preparation. This time. On a side note, I never give them money anymore directly or discretely after, even if its for taxi. I just pay for taxi and food myself (yeah going down with them.). In my experience even if they know it won't take long, or they want to have fun with a bule, or want to cherish a fake hope of marrying to you even when they know it won't happen; giving money breaks that experience imo. Some of them feel really embarrased or offended. Ofcourse, food, drinks, taxi, they accept with a smile and consider it normal when I pay. If they insist to pay on a regular base which sometimes happens I back off as I will not stay around long enough and usually they really are to serious and good-hearted. Oh back to my story.
- Bar girls. Not a thing I tried in jakarta, but in other cities ye. I do not like negotiating when I am drunk. Most of them I meet are already a bit older (end of twenties or more). I am actually quite young and quite good looking so it is me, or I go to the wrong places. Usually I miss the "relative innocense". Although I sometimes admire how slick they are. Problem for me is that I am not really sure what I will get in terms of the actual body (yeah, dresses can do a lot) , service and time. And even if you negotiate for a LT, that time usually ends by 6 or way before in the morning. Or they complain they want cigarettes, food etc. Alright that is handled by now, my mistake. But still it is annoying. Or they try to add the taxi or ojek or becak to the price afterwards. I do not really mind if it is cheap or expensive if it is worth it. But for me a deal is a deal which is made before and does not have to be changed after.
- Spa's. My current favourite. What is better then an hour massage with an hour of FS after. I finally found some spa's I like cause I know what I get into. Oasis was never really clear to me how it worked and they all ask tips for often just a very mediocre lazy massage. I would just wish that they would learn that not asking tips usually gives a much higher succes rate on getting tips in the first place and the amount (atleast I noticed that with me and some of my friends). Other spa's have clear packages illustrated on the wall. For ex. 650. 000 for 2 hours, including good massage, body to body, BJ, and sex and often kissing is included (ex. Orchadz hotel industri). Quality for me is always almost good even when I do not know the number of the girl (or I forgot which number she had) and can not choose them. Service is usually friendly. Clothes are sexy. Rooms are decent. I don't like the waiting time in the evenings when I do not make a reservation. The fact that often I can not choose (I also usually come on busy hours) makes as pro: the surprise. Negative: well I didn't get to choose. .
-Lately I am getting more and more lazy in this unbearable hot traffic jammed city so I order inroom massage in hotels which usually only offer BJ. If they offer more it means they usually already doing it to long and do not look so good anymore. Or they just ask ridiculous high prices extra to the already higher hotel massage cost. Great summary Smoothy, however I disagree about X2 and other young crowds discos as a great pick up points, most of the crowd is close groups of indo Chinese, I've been mostly to X2 and couldn't find girls approachable, few ugly hookers there but then better to go to CJ and BATS, every time I go to X2 I see some handsome good looking guys trying to get girls with no success. Only catch is you have to pay for a subscription so you can read and send messages to non-subscribers, but whats 300. 000 idr for a month if you have a good turn-over afterwards.
