I usually adopt the fake-honest approach.
I admit that when I first arrived in Jakarta I was an awful player, but hey come on, It wasn't my fault was it?
You know what they're like in this town, the women throw themselves at the bules, in the gym, the supermarket, on the Busway, it's terrible and well, I admit I gave into temptation and was like a kid in a sweetshop for a year or two. I don't think you will find much in Pluit itself.

There are tons of places in Pluit. Anywhere that has local Chinese men will have places for sex. I don't go up there because it's so damn far, but the biggest area in all of Jakarta for prostitution is supposedly in that area somewhere.

Day 8, Thursday March 69,2014 Jakarta Day 5:
Sadly, this was my last day in Jakarta so I went cultural in the morning by walking around the National Monument (Monas Tower) and then I visited the National Museum. The National Museum has an enormous collection of Indonesian ethnic costumes, bronze statues, temple carvings and ceramics to name just a few of the many galleries. It is really a worthwhile place to check out. After touring the museum I walked south down Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, one of the main drags in town, towards Selamat Datang and the high end shopping malls. I was hungry so I was looking for an Asian Fusion restaurant called Social House that I had heard was supposed to be great. It is located in the Grand Indonesia Shopping Mall, but I almost did not make there because I spotted a Carl Jr's in the basement of the same mall. Carl Jr's was tempting, but I wasn't away from the USA long enough to have an urge for an American fast food cheeseburger and I was glad I passed it by. The Social House turned out to be great. I really liked Jakarta. I think the trip was a huge success, but I did make a few mistakes. Number one mistake was staying in the south part of the Golden Triangle. The JW Marriott is an elegant 5* hotel all the way and the service was impeccable, plus it was all free thanks to my Marriott reward points, but location, location, location. I mean 60 minutes to drive to Alexis! 40 minutes to Malioboro! COME ON! Furthermore, it was a big hassle to go to many of the local restaurants and places of interest again, because of the traffic situation during the daytime. This recurring daily problem really cut down on what I wanted to do and forced me to pretty much hang around the upper class refined Marriott ghetto neighborhood during the hot daylight hours. Next time I will stay further north so I will be more in the thick of things and it will take only 25 minutes max to drive to Alexis and 15 minutes to drive to Malioboro. Late night traffic is not a problem, so it seems to me that if you stay further north it is not a hassle to taxi south to Bats or Blok M at around 11 pm plus further north is more colorful with more local Indo restaurants, markets, and just a lot more to do in the daytime. I am considering the Hotel Alila Jakarta, the Morrissey Hotel, the Grand Mercure Jakarta Harmoni, and possibly the Borobudur Hotel for next time. They are all reasonably priced hotels, have good reviews on Trip Advisor, have outdoor swimming pools, and most importantly are GF.
My strategy was never to try to visit every worthy nightspot in Jakarta. That would have been impossible in 5 nights. All I really wanted to do was meet and get it on with a few really pretty, high quality, Indonesian girls and have a good time, which I think I accomplished with flying colors. I always planned to start exploring the Jakarta nightlife scene at the top of the food chain and to work my way down as my experiences dictated. Of course I didn't get too far down my list on this trip and that is fine with me. In fact I anticipated that this would probably happen. You know, I have been to Bangkok over 30 times and I know that town pretty well, but I have still not been to all the soapy's or G-Clubs and Discos on my to do list, so every time I return to the big mango, I try to check out at least one new place. That is what I going to try to do on my next visits (plural) to Jakarta. For sure, I will hit Alexis and Malioboro (Malio Club) again and I hope I bump into some old friends. LOL. But, I will also hit at least one new spa / bordello like Hotel Travel, Hotel Classic, Kartika, or Maribaya Massage and see what they are all about. I will also be sure to check out CJ's at the Mulia Hotel and try a couple of the Blok M bars. And if I do all that on the next trip, I would still be leaving out a lot of great places to see for the next time. So what I am saying is I will be returning to Jakarta not one more time, but a many more times in the coming years. It all sounds good to me.
Update:
I was cruising around the internet airline web sights late one night a couple of weeks ago. For some reason the two major carriers servicing South East Asia from my home in South Florida, ie United and Delta, jacked up their round trip rates to South East Asia over 30% from last year which translates into a $400 increase on flights to Manila or Bangkok round trip. Just for the hell of it, I plugged in a round trip flight from Fort Lauderdale to Jakarta on the United Airlines site and guess what? The rate was $1024 round trip coach which was $500 less than essentially the same flight to MNL or BKK so I booked it. I am stoked! My 2015 South East Asia trip will begin and end in Jakarta. The flight is a couple of hours longer than the flight to Manila, but I don't care. I will take some prescription Ambian along for the flight and it won't be too bad. I will land in Jakarta around 11:30 pm an I will be ready to meet some nice girls.
On top of that good news, I have scheduled nearly double the amount of time that I will spend in Jakarta on my second trip, so I am looking forward to having an even better time here the 2nd go round. I also found a low no penalty if cancelled rate with Booking DOT Com at the Morrissey Hotel, so it looks like I am all set.
I don't think there is anything more positive I can say about Jakarta than that I am returning and staying longer than the first visit. To me, Jakarta was like discovering an unknown Asian planet inhabited by beautiful, sexy and charming girls. I found Jakarta girls as pretty as BKK girls and as friendly as Manila girls. And that is saying quite a lot.

i am considering the hotel alila jakarta, the morrissey hotel, the grand mercure jakarta harmoni, and possibly the borobudur hotel for next time. they are all reasonably priced hotels, have good reviews on trip advisor, have outdoor swimming pools, and most importantly are gf.

i also found a low no penalty if cancelled rate with booking dot com at the morrissey hotel, so it looks like i am all set.
i don't think there is anything more positive i can say about jakarta than that i am returning and staying longer than the first visit. to me, jakarta was like discovering an unknown asian planet inhabited by beautiful, sexy and charming girls. i found jakarta girls as pretty as bkk girls and as friendly as manila girls. and that is saying quite a lot.welcome to the club. i'm a confirmed jakarta addict. i've been here over 100 times and still feel like i'm scratching the surface. i wish i'd discovered this place in my mid twenties, not my late thirties. as traveler said, you will enjoy morrisey (one of my favourite places) as it's pretty convenient in many respects. i always find a need to keep large bottles of water and juice in my room and appreciate the small fridge that's there instead of a mini bar. the only thing is that they don't have taxis waiting there, although there doesn't seem to be much wasted time waiting as the road is frequented by taxis that they'll hail for you. they will target bluebirds unless you tell them otherwise. i normally tell them, bluebird, express, gamya or taxiku are fine. there's also plenty of food and potential meeting locations nearby if you're going to get together with a date. the rooms are minimalist in design but very functional. the shower area is big enough for two. all hotels short of syariah hotels are girl friendly but take note that you do need a card to get up the lift. borubudor is a bit tired and i didn't like alila (although it is closer to alexis and malioboro). i haven't stayed at mecure before.

Wow, are things really that boring around here we're reduced to discussing the merits of various hotel bathrooms? Jeez, seriously who looked at those photos and thought "Hey, I like those bathroom tiles"?
On the subject of Blok M as raised below, there is no question that the place has gone downhill a lot but as Smoothy points out Jakarta old timers have been bemoaning the decline in Blok M since Blok M became Blok M. You can still have fun and I have to say were I so minded I'd be tempted by some of the cuties now hanging around in the streets nearby Falatehan, the quality there has improved immeasurably in recent years.
In the bars themselves I certainly miss the absolutely heaving scene that would greet you upstairs in Upper-case-fourth-letter-of-the-alphabet's Place (auto-edit, who needs it?) from 9 pm onwards and in My Bar from 10 pm onwards, I enjoyed the way you could just walk in have a wander around and simply nod at a girl and ten minutes later you were in your room in the Ambara, then back to the bar again for another round with someone else, that was a lot of fun.
That has all gone but given that I have now switched my attention to the barstaff in several establishments (two currently on the go) I can live without it. That is another thing that has improved, the willingness of the staff to hook up, or it may just be a consequence of my long-term attendance that they now are familiar with me and are willing to go for quiet dalliances with regular, discreet customers who know how to keep their mouths shut around their colleagues. Perhaps I'm just looked at as a safe bet, an old codger to extract some money for the kids' school fees or mama's medication, either way I'm cool with the set up.
Alas there is one bar that has the unquestionably the hottest and cutest staff that I haven't quite cracked yet and judging by the blokes who hang out drooling at the counter I am not alone, but I am working on it.

I know that it is girl friendly and somewhat inconvenient to get to Travel or Classic. What I was wondering was. Is the traffic bad to Kota during the day on weekdays or weekends as well? Is there any easy public transportation that could make the journey more tolerable?

thanksyes, the traffic is bad to kota mondays through saturdays (and sundays are not much better). one option to speed up your trip a bit would be to take the transjakarta bus line #1 from the "karet" stop on jalan sudirman up to kota. you'd still have to take a taxi from the marriott to the karet stop (or else walk if it's not too hot), but it would certainly be faster (and cheaper) than taking a taxi the whole way.

I'm pretty sure I know which bar you are talking about. I've gotten nowhere with any of those girls. I am starting to think it's a hopeless chase. There is the Marriott residential apartments (or whatever it is called) that would be much closer to the busway--virtually on top of it--but it is not a JW Marriott. Having stayed at the JW Marriott before, trying to do anything other than a taxi to Kota (or the area close to Kota) wouldn't be worth the trouble and inconvenience IMHO.

From my location it was less than half an hour either way to Kota or Blok M, the only problem of the day was deciding which direction to take. There was also the good likelihood of actually scoring on the bus itself (these were the days before gender apartheid was imposed on the buses) and at the end of the evening you arrived back at Sarinah which was then another hotspot for free-lance ladies finishing their day jobs and wandering round looking for a hapless bule to pounce on.

I have checked out a few of the Indonesian websites (Kaskus, BintangMawar etc) and have got some info from them, it seems karaoke and "salons" are the main option. There are two problems however, the maddeningly imprecise nature of the directions "dekat Ramayana", "belakang Mayofield" etc. , the other is that when I do track down positive leads and google them it invariably leads to a news story about how they've been closed down in a razia, Banten like much of western Java is going through a conservative phase these days.
However nothing daunted I am looking forward to the challenge, it'll be like the good old days in Indonesia of ten or more years ago before the interwebs and you'd rack up somewhere like Manado or Balikpapan and simply have to find out the scene yourself, ojek drivers, taxi drivers and bell-hops in Cilegon can expect to get good tips from me soon.
It's going to be fun (provided there's no razia of course).

Anyone know?I get the impression the place is living off past memories, there's a lot of Hash memorabilia on the wall but it looks dusty and dated and I get the impression they haven't been there in a while. The place wasn't bombed but burned down a short while after the Bali bombing thus putting the owners out of business (or if some rumours are correct the owner had already become the bar's main and frequently only customer) the place is locally owned now I believe.
I stand to be corrected as it's a place I had heard great reports about but which turned out to be a disappointment when I actually found it.

A timely reminder as it is something that has caught me out very often in the past. Sunday is goat-slashing day, which means that on Saturday night everywhere is shut, and if you do venture out taxis home will be like hens' teeth. Something worth bearing in mind if you have made any plans.
I will be in Jakarta next week staying in Holiday Inn. I heard it is near some golf course, any actions that there that can be recommended. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I am planning a 4 day trip.I was in Jakarta early this year, for the first time. They have 2 major mongering venues, North and South, but it's a major to get from one to the other. Folks had told me it would be easy if you do it late at night, not quite true. Even at 2 am, it was quite a trip going from one to the other. I suggest you spend a few days in one place, then move to another hotel, much more convenient. One area has mostly clubs with night activities (BATS, CJ, and others). The other area has mostly SPAs (hotel Classic / Travel, Alexis), open during the day. Still, traffic can be a big hassle anywhere. I suggest you read the forum for more Intel.

If your near a golf course, and without knowing the location, its a very safe assumption to say your nowhere near any mongering action worth mentioning.
Forget mongering in Jakarta as youll spend hours in traffic and instead score with the P4 P caddy (that's a whole different experience not often mentioned on this board).

The Middle (BATS, CJs) is white rich business travelers. Women expect close to 1 M Rp for action.
The South (Blok M) lots of local whites who want cheap beer and a good deal. Downscale and rundown. I have never paid more than 500 K.

I made some notes for an upcoming trip to Jakarta and thought I'd share them here. Could anyone comment on whether anything has replaced in Stadium? I was supposed to go early this year and am gutted I missed out.
The best day time mongering is in the Kota area. Stay anywhere else and traffic will kill your day.
At night standard pickup bars are either BATS (Shangri-la) or CJ (Mulia Hotel) in central or Blok M in the South.
It's possible to take public transport to get down to Block M from Kota quickly earlier in the night and take a cab to other areas after 11 pm when the traffic calms down.

Prices per hour. Only include 1 shot. Plus 100 k tip to the girl.
Malioboro:(not to be confused with Malio Club next door) Jalan Gadjah Madah No. 13.
1st floor spa...Very Nice Capture: Could be Report of Distinction.

This is my first foray onto the Jakarta boards, and having RTFF I must say, thanks to all of those who have punted and reported before me! There's a wealth of information for those of us who are stopping in for a visit. I'm dropping in for a weekend and will have a very limited amount of time to monger, and will have to be outcall only. I've had a look through the posts to deem which options are the most appealing, and was just wondering how much information I need to give your average cab driver (bluebird only apparently!) in order to get to Classic, Mariabaya or Hotel Travel?
It might seem a stupid question (and to be fair, it probably is) but if I just say "Classic Spa please" will that be enough, or should I have a little more geographical detail or a little map to help the bloke? (Like I said, it seems a stupid question, but in Korea you'd struggle without more detail than that. I had a cabbie who couldn't find the "National Cricket Stadium" last week. As if there's more than one of those here!

i was taking the short pleasant walk from morrissey hotel to gondangdia krl station which takes you on a safe trip over the traffic in a sort of blade runner speed too travel hotel / kota. with time to spare i stopped off at the dutch era orphanage to chat with some of the kids and helpers. as usual quite a number of bare-back accidents of mixed parentage but i did notice one particularly jovial girl with green eyes and freckles all over her arms and legs. if any of you guys reading this post of a freckled hue. they welcome donations.

Hotel Travel. Easiest for a taxi driver to find, find just ask for 'hotel travel, mangga besar' - every taxi driver will know that for sure.

I often hear from about how much time wasting is involve in the dating scene. All I can say is I don't find it to be the case here. This is my second day here and I've just said bye to girl no. 2 so to speak and have 4 more lined up today. The key is to overbook yourself as not all the women are reliable (a Jakarta wise head once told me to always have a back up plan, then have a back up to your back up, and so on - Menteng please stand up). Stagger the timing so you do have time to inform them that you're otherwise detained by your client, should the earlier girl pan out. I try to make the meeting place near their work place or home, so they don't suffer unduly should there be a cancellation.
Yesterday, I met someone at Plaza Semanggi at 5:30 pm and we had a quick early dinner. By 7 pm, we were back at the hotel without a stitch of clothing on us (yes, my hotel is within walking distance. If you take the trouble of reading back a few pages in the Jakarta thread you will notice who is the one using foul language and abuse, and who sticks to normal English.

I have read with great interest some very detailed reports by mongers on their trips to MP's such Alexis, Travel Hotel, Classic Terminal etc and I was wondering if these establishments accept credit cards such as Visa or is it a straight cash arrangement ?
I am planning a short first time visit to Jakarta this coming February and as a 1st timer to Jak. I would prefer not to be walking around the city at night with too much cash on me.
I must say that reading all of these posts has wetted my appetite for visiting Jak. and I am really looking forward to my visit in Feb.
While its early days for my arrangements yet, I must say that despite RTFF I am still a little confused as to what area and best mid range hotel ($40 - 60 a night) that best places me in the most central locale for the best MP's and freelance haunts such as Bats, CJ's etc

Bats is in hotel shangri-la, cj's is in hotel mulia (both will cost about 3 to 4 times what you are looking to spend). However, you can search those 2 hotels to get a reference and choose hotels close (if you want a place close to bats and cjs). The MP's are all the way across town, nowhere near CJs or Bats. If you want near the MP's, you can filter on Mangga Dua on the agoda site.

Well while it looks like my colleagues here are involved in a about of keyboard warfare, I thought I would slip on over to Malioboro and see what the fuss was all about.
For those who don't already know, this is one of those iconic Jakarta establishments that cater to those of us who punt. Most of these mainstream joints seem to have a formula for dealing with Bules where the subtle hassle and push starts early. Malioboro was no different. My first goal whenever I go somewhere new is to try to appear nonchalant but its pretty difficult for bules in a place for first time to do this. Management seem to smell this.
So observation no 1 is that all that extra money that the girls are making may not be necessarily good for them. A few extra pounds around the midriff seemed like the norm. As were an abundance of enhanced bosoms of which your correspondent is never particularly enthusiastic.

I am with you, though, on Malioboro 2014. I like the place. ThanksI actually like the Japanese karaoke places behind hotel Melawai. They aren't so expensive relative to the upscale places in town. It's rare a non-asian goes to those places though and they act a little surprised when you do. I find the girls won't normally have sex in the room or go home with you that night, but will meet up with you on their day off. There are some stunners in those clubs.
I think Gangnam is in Grand Wijaya Center (not far from Dharmawangsa) next to Fortune massage. I do believe you can have sex in the rooms there, but I've never tried it. The people I know who went there seemed to like it.

As far as the old hags hanging out in Blok M, I rather like the shoulder massages some of them provide. Some of them say they know me from long ago and can tell me some pretty detailed stories about my past exploits, although I swear I never saw those women all those years ago. The only girl back there who I find attractive is Anjani, and she has the personality of a soggy cigarette. Her sister was much nicer.

Ok. So bules are 1 in a 1000, but still, I always thought we all looked the same to them.

Don't sweat the small stuff lads, the old dears providing security are very useful sources of information.....who to avoidFor me, they're bothersome and take away from the overall experience.
The problem is once you give one of them 50 k, then a whole bunch of others come up and ask for the same as if they are beggars (just for standing there idle doing nothing in a room with only one other guest sitting across the room).
I'd rather give it to one of the satpams outside, who probably earn a quarter of what these old hags make in tips every month. And these are the real ones doing a real job, because you can bet once a vicious fight between two bules breaks out inside the bar or a gang of thugs turn up outside, those old hags certainly won't be there doing their "security fee" duties.
If you asked one of them who to avoid or who to take I'm willing to bet they'll lie through their teeth and say whoever of the girls gave them a tip or she is on good terms with. Totally unreliable.
I heard that Dee's Place some 10 or 15 years ago didn't have any of that nonsense.

I hear what you're saying but they aren't mutually exclusive, I always slip tips here and there occasionally to staff and bouncers, it's just a small gesture and costs very little but in payback terms it's very worthwhile if you are a long-term resident and a regular at a place. I would do exactly the same thing in my favourite bar at home.
As a recent example of pay back from the "security" ladies, well see the newest dancer on stage, the cute little one that still looks fresh-faced? She's 20 and has a baby and her husband is a deadbeat (wow no surprise there then). Anyway a week or two back the night before she started dancing she arrived in at about 9 pm in jeans and a sweater and her "security" lady mentor immediately brought her to me for an introduction. I bought her a drink (orange juice, always a sure sign they're newbies, within a week they're knocking back Long Islands) got chatting and we had her first private dance within 15 minutes. She was a bit shy and a bit awkward at first but security lady gave her all the advice she needed and soon everything was going smoothly.
Next night there she was in her leopard print hot pants strutting her stuff and giving me a big wave from the stage. It's always nice to break the new ones in don't you think? She's the third I have had to pleasure of tupping before they go on stage. There's a couple of bar maids I'm discreetly seeing there too, again tips grease the wheels of info as to what's available, it's a very minor fee well worth paying, if they want to pretend it's for 'security' or I'm paying for the wet wipes I really couldn't care less.
Anyway the point I am making is that whether you pay the security lady is a matter of supreme indifference to her because she is going to get paid anyway. It's just that if you don't you're stiffing the dancer out of 10% of her hard-earned wages because you're leaving her to pick up the tab. Like I say, if I choose to frequent a place where attractive young women offer sexual favours to old geezers like me for cash I really don't want to get the reputation of being a cheap charlie. It's personal thing, I leave others to follow their own consciences and make no judgement one way or the other.

I don't have enough Kota experience to give solid advice but I have heard good things about Mercure Kota.

I heard that Dee's Place some 10 or 15 years ago didn't have any of that nonsense.Dee's opened around 2003 if I remember correctly. Almost the exact same time as My Bar (although Dee's did open a year or two before My Bar). Back in those days just before Dee's. Top Gun, Oscars, and Lintas Melawai were the hot spots on the Blok. The old routine was to grab something to eat at Sportsmans, then go to Top Gun early, head to Oscars around 10 or 11 pm, then hit Lintas Melawai at the Hotel Melawai by around 1 or 2 am and it went until around 5 am. Girls from all over Jakarta would end up at Lintas Melawai since places like Bats, Cjs, tiga puluh and the karaoke places closed earlier than Lintas. Tanamur and JJ's were still open back in those days as well. What a great time to be in Jakarta! Even back then, the old ladies were still hanging around in the corners of most places. The VIP room at Dees in the early days was so small, I don't remember them hanging out in there. I didn't go in that old vip room often because it was just too small. It didn't evolve into what it is now until they moved to the new location where it is now (Dees used to be next to Sportsmans). But just outside that old vip room, there were plenty of the old women looking for a handout.
From what I understand, most of those old hags used to be hookers on the Blok years and years ago. They never landed a "sponsor" with any money and are still on the Blok because they don't know anything else. A buddy of mine who used to live in Jakarta in the late 80's and early 90's came to town recently. I was shocked when he was fondling one of those old scrags. He told me that back in the late 80's she was the hottest girl on the Blok (I'd have never guessed it), and he thinks maybe he should have even married her. (what the heck?) I can understand him buying her beers and throwing her some money for old times sake. But he actually took her home that night and I think she ended up staying with him an entire month!
Hilo, I do agree that those old women can be a good way of getting introduced to the new and innocent girls. If one of those old women can hook me up with the lovely Miss Pretty, I would be willing to give the old woman a 500 k facilitation payment, no problem. As far as "security" in the back room, if I were to get a BJ back there, I would fine with giving 50 k to the old scrag if she gave me a good massage while she was providing that BJ "security". I do agree that the girls end up giving those women the money if you don't, but I think those old women should actually do a little something to earn the 50 k. Those women have strong hands, why not take advantage of that.
Egy, giving the satpams money is a good idea. That's one of the best suggestions to anyone. You never know what kind of trouble that could save you. The Blok is basically run by the mafia and although it's safe most times, it does have potential dangers. I know a guy who has slipped them money for years, and the one time he had trouble on the blok, it was amazing how quickly the satpams took care of the situation in his favor.

That was hilarious. The Club was a classic and probably the raunchiest place in Jakarta at one time. Haha. I agree it's sad that they know you from there though. Hell, they have likely given you a BJ on the far side of the bar there and you don't remember them. But they remember you. You are right that there was an occasional gem there, but not many. Still a classic place though for anyone who was in Jakarta in those days.

Can't comment on Mercure Kota as I haven't stayed there yet. Its just up the road from the Mercure Harmoni around from Manga Besar.

Good idea or not?I arrived in Indonesia about 3 months ago. I too work "in country" and have made about 6 multi-night trips to Jakarta. I stay at the Hotel Falatehan right at the end of Jl. Phlatahan St. A 1-minute walk to the Blok M bars.
The Hotel is nice and less expensive than Ambhara and very convenient. But there is no pool so if that is important stay at Ambhara. I have gotten the staff down to Rp 450,000 on a weekend. They are firm on 600 k on a weekday. Also, I like the Superior room because it has no window to the outside. No street noise. And therefore is quiet for sleeping after a long night of fun.
If you stay at Falatehan, you can walk between Payaraya Mall and Blok M Mall to Melawai Street. Turn right and walk 3 blocks to Hotel Melawi wherein resides the Maribaya Bar where some great girls provide some great relief. (See my review a week ago.). This is a great afternoon or early evening option before heading out to the bars for the night.
The routine that works for me is to go to BATS or CJ's around 10 pm. Each has a different crowd and where I go on any given night depends on my mood. I often look for the girl I want, chat a bit and either take her or get her mobil number and arrange to meet another time. For instance, when you return for the 4 days, you have a head start. My same night take-out rate is about 50/50.
I was here during Ramadan and Lebaran. I was thankful for my list of mobil numbers to sustain me thru the drought they call Lebaran.
Then I use Top Gun and My Bar as my relief outlet if I come home from the classy bars with just a phone number. On occasion I have even made a pick-up after the girl from the classy bars had gone home. It's just a stroll down the street to take a look and see if anyone fits my (or your) fancy.
Blok M prices are low enough (500 k) that on some evenings I can take 2 or 3 girls from Top Gun over a few hours for some fun, fun, fun. I think I delight the hotel night shift with my antics as they always wave and have a big smile.

Higher-end and higher-priced spas include Alexis and Malioboro. Alexis costs more and is higher-end (you will spend well over 1. 5 million here, RTFF) while Malioboro offers both Indonesian girls (over 750,000 rupiah) and foreign girls (well over 1 million rupiah). Both places offers in-house sessions that may last 1 to 2 hours; take-out is rare and would be expensive.
Lower-end and lower-priced massage spas include Travel and Classic, as well as Maribaya Spa (Hotel Melawai, Blok M) and, up north in Kota, Berlian and Kartika, which offers body-to-body full body slide massage (similar to nuru). IMHO every man should experience a 2-girl massage at Kartika at least once in their life; the only complaint about Kartika is that there are only 5 or 6 good looking girls working there, with the rest being older and / or chunky. Up to you.
Lower-end spas are also in-house, but if you find a girl you like, you can easily arrange for her to come to your hotel later at night, after her shift ends, for either a short session or overnight, for a reasonable price, similar to the Blok M girls and certainly less than the CJ's or BATS girls. The single best overnight session I've ever had in Jakarta was back in 2005 when Cynthia came over to my room at the Mandarin Oriental at 10 pm after her shift ended at Kartika, for less than 500,000 rupiah total including "taxi money. ".
Delta is an in-house massage place that focuses on the massage, not the extra services. You'll have no problem getting a handjob but anything beyond that is between you and the girl and is hard to predict. If you definitely want to have a FS session, then don't go here.
Somewhat higher-end, higher-priced night club spots include CJ's (Hotel Mulia), BATS (Hotel Shangri-La) and Tiga Puluh a / k / a "30 Bar" (Hotel LE Meridien). All have been open for years and are all well-known, they feature many attractive girls who will ask for at least 1 million or more at a minimum for ST, although you don't have to agree to paying that much.
Blok M (note the spelling) is the well-known lower-end, lower-priced section for night spots, referring to the many bars / night spots on Jalan Falatehan. Interestingly, some of the same girls that you'll see at BATS at 10 pm, asking for 1. 5 or 2 million, will be seen at Blok M at 1:30 or 2 am, asking a much lower price.
There's also a really low-end spectrum that includes the backpacker street, Jalan Jaksa, the women working the streets near the train stations, and the Kali Jodo neighborhood, but I would recommend you not bother with any of these places. There are many other places as well (I've been a customer at over 50 places in Jakarta in the last ten years) the above is just an introduction to the places that most visitors tend to go to.
So it's up to you what you'd like to experience during your Jakarta visit, and how much you have budgeted for mongering. Many of the regular posters here, including me, have had success in all of the above categories. Please RTFF for details, especially on the prices. I've been very general with referring to prices, my main goal was to illustrate the differences between the places, not give the definitive price.

Very depressing news. A British guy in his late 20's was arrested over the weekend for gruesomely murdering 2 prostitutes in Hong Kong. One of the girls was from Indonesia, while the other girl was apparently from the Philippines, according to the UK paper the Daily Mail:

That was my personal tentative list as I prepare for yet another city in Asia. I'm glad you found it helpful. I generated that list by reading and taking notes. Lucky for you Mighty S spelled out a lot of details. Do yourself a favor and read the thread.
End of day 3 of 5 here in Jakarta staying at the Grand Mercure Harmoni which is near north Jakarta. Nice hotel about $70-$80 AUD per night.
Good location for activity around here including Malioboro, Classic, Travel, Kartika, Delta spa, Illegals. All very close by.
Latest reports on Classic and Travel ring true as both my experiences were very very average. The girls were hot though. Very routine. Virtually no GFE and CBJ both. More interested in themselves and personal hygiene than providing a quality service. I've had some crackers here in the past. But not this time round. I guess its the luck of the draw.
I suppose you get what you pay for at this end of the market.
I answered an ad on Jakarta backpage which turned out to be a cracker! Very GFE. Very sexy. Came to my hotel. 2 hrs - 1 mill. It sounds steep but when I compare it to my Classic / Travel experiences where you also pay for drinks / tip etc. I'd much rather have the GFE any day.
Delta Spa. Hot stone massage I'd highly recommend. Some very cute girls working there however you will only get a HJ at the most in the end. If you click with the massage girl I'm sure there's more on offer but not onsite. Pricey for a massage 600 k for 2 hours. But very relaxing.
The Grand Mercure has a spa on the 5th floor called SParadise. Massage price is 250 k - 350 k I recall. They have all the girls photos on a computer screen there for your viewing if they're not sitting there already. Extras are offered by the girls ranging from HJ to FJ. Dependent on the girls. Price is neg. At the time and varies depending on the girl and service.
I plan to return to Delta for another hot stone massage with a different cutey I saw on the way out.
Malioboro is also on the cards as its only a 3 minute walk from my hotel, also I want to checkout Fashion Spa / hotel which I have yet to experience. But from what I gathered online it may be worth a punt.
