First off great stuff and write ups in this forum fellas. First time heading to Indonesia for work may be during Ramadan in June. I have RTFF and some other sites on the subject but their seems to be conflicting info. Some day everything is shut down but others say the fun is still available. Anybody have some insights on this year or Ramadan 2015?

Some were actually quite pretty, and therefore made it difficult to justify paying the higher prices for the girls in the lounge, which I suspect is why Malioboro stopped this.
Then again, I suppose there is a possibility Malioboro reversed its earlier decision and has reintroduced the "budget-priced" girls in the second bar. That would be great, and if it is true great to know.
New royal bar. In a murcky backwater north of jl. Pangjay in a strip reminiscient of the 90's blora bars. Tepid large bottles of bali hai beer with ice and the challenge of a straw from barmen that for once could cope in a very very busy bar. Genuinely laid back locals of all ages.
My night's highlight was a perplexing indohouse remix of How Deep is your Love which would have left calvin harris smiling in his filled up boots.
Decent squads of girls for hire in back corners low key but convenient. Active seat-hopping girls with freelance manners who pulled the most tricks making good effort over us lazy mongers. For those traditionalists there's also a fishbowl with the usual smorgasbord of girls crammed together in a nonchalant mood.
10 pm Gogos start but because of the low suspended ceiling the girls over 5 ft had to bend down while jiggling their stuff. It's the first gogos I've seen in their real birthday suits. Shoeless. Rather like the upper floor bars in soi cowboy. Didn't see anyone taking up the ladies drink farce though being foreign looking I was picked upon constantly. Great banter in the unisex toilets with the girls cleaning themselves up.
The damage. Rp 330 000 for a room and chosen tryst. Didn't partake, as on a post Alexis afternoon session but promised shower and towels. Old school Mamasan commented that anything was on the cards in the room, and I think if you did your due diligence with the right girl it would be. Ladies drink standard Jakarta 50000 rp. Large bottle of Hai or Guiness 60000 straw not optional. No drugs offered thankfully.
Jakarta's Royal bar rocks. Finally gentlemen after 6 years of trips to Jakarta somewhere to write home about. Neighbouring bars looked just as good following a quick head poke on the way out.

As for the beer, I always ask for cold beer, and that is what I am served (from the refrigerator). But I don't believe I have ordered beer at Royal; just at LA Bar, Sari Ayu, and Astro, the latter located in the street / alley that runs parallel to the street on which Royal, LA Bar, and Sari Ayu are located.
It was just last week LA Guy 5. Thinking back, I think yah you are right the girls at the bar looks like those you could find in Classic. Future trip might be better to just roam in Classic.

Usually, I don't see girls leaving with men but I do remember a couple of years ago seeing three or four girls leave together with an equal number of men from the same bar (I noticed because one of the girls is one I had hoped to session with); I guess they were having some sort of party at a hotel.
So, it is not the norm, but probably still possible. I would think it would be prohibitively expensive though at a place like Malioboro or Alexis, but then again that depends on how much money one has to spend on this.

It begins the evening of June 5 (I believe) and continues for somewhere around a month.
As to nude dancing, I have read reports, probably on this forum but maybe elsewhere, that it is back. I may find out on my next trip, although I tend not to stick around at these places very late, which is when I understand most of the nude dancing occurs.
800 or 900 k a "few" years ago? I think that was more than a few. The price now for takeout after 11 pm is 1. 65 million, and if before 11 pm it's around 3 million. Even more at Malioboro or Alexis.
Does anyone have reliable pricing info on Malio? I am talking about the dancer girls and the ones that come up to you all the time in pairs? A number of them came up and some of them are just incredible models in looks. I started negotiating with one she said 1. 5 M then the waiters said 1. 8 M and on top of that you have to buy 20 65000 (3 pound) sweet water shots. Then he wrote down another 1 M on paper so total over 3 M (over 150 pounds for a pop). I just don't like this absurd and unclear pricing structure.
Keep in mind they add 35 percent service charge on top of drinks and food and the room as well. So you may end up paying 200-300 pounds. That's crazy.
I took a sideliner girl for 1. 1 M which I was told was all in, ended up paying 700 K on top of this for a room with a 35 percent "tax". So down 110 GBP total which included my entry and food.
I'd love to try many of these girls but it doesn't sound like the place is setup for repeat customer. It would be great if anyone could explain what is best strategy there at Malio.
Later went to Alexis, and its a much easier environemnt: 1. 4 M for locals and 2. 4 for imports. Both are good quality. Great spa, included in your hour, clear pricing. Girls aren't pushy at all unlike M!

1. 65 million is the current price for takeout after 11pm. The price years ago doesn't really matter.

These are the periodical police raids where they will lock down an area and sift through all they find there. There have been a few issues there with security taking a bit of a heavy handed approach with some who have stepped out of line. The fact that this place is a fair bit more downmarket and has a wide cross section of Indonesians visiting means it is not without it's risks.

I have never once taken one of those girls standing near the front entrance. They seem too desperate. I have always chatted up girls inside the club on the dance floor. I think there are not too many reports on Alexis Hotel in the forum, which is a pity as I found it to be a very good mongering option. I have earlier visited Malioboro, which is also good but now after going to Alexis I would prefer this any day. Unlike Malioboro and other strip-clubs, Alexis is focused on the spa and sex only.
The hotel is located in a somewhat dark side-street to a major street, close to the Mangga Dua Square. There is a karaoke, restaurant. , etc. But the action is all on one floor (if I remember the 7th floor). The good thing I liked about Alexis as compared with Malioboro is that the staff is helpful and they will explain everything to you, as well as answer any questions. In Malioboro I found the staff to be testy and laconic, and also difficult to communicate with in English.
Once you get a bracelet and a locker, you would change into spa-clothes. The locker and shower areas are quite clean and nice. Then, you have an option to either sit around in a dark-ish area with lots of lounge chairs and beds, or try out the various spa options (whirlpool, sauna, steam, etc). There are several massage options as well. When you want you can go into the restaurant where all the ladies are (and there are a lot- about 40 of different nationalities). There is no pushiness, no pressure. In fact, I was very happy that the managers ask you to specify the criteria you are looking for (e. G. Height, nationality, bust size, etc) and then they would pick out a line up and let you choose. You can opt for a 2nd or 3rd line up as well. I guess this is also possible in Malioboro but you would need to spend much more effort there. The pricing is informed before-hand, Indonesian ladies have a total fee of about USD 100 and the foreign ones are USD 150. Once you select, you have a choice to take the girl directly to the room or have some time in the whirlpool. I decided the latter, and did not regret it as I received a nice intimate massage there. Then it was off to the room, which was very luxurious. The quality of service was very nice from the girl I had selected, with a CBJ with very good technique, light kissing and sex in multiple positions. All in all very satisfactory and I will return very soon.
The girls expect tips, naturally. However I found it strange that the girl I was with expected me to give her a USD 100 tip! I had to politely ask her to get lost despite a generous USD 20 tip. I didn't even know there were any there. You are correct that it's important to be able to speak Bahasa there. If you can't speak Indonesian, it's not an easy pickup spot. Also, if you are Non-Asian you have less chance than if you are Asian. Still a fun spot and there are some opportunities there.
I had about forty eight hours in Jakarta heading home from a visit to Borobudur, near Yogyakarta. Borobudur is home to a fantastic religious structure. It is also home to the largest Buddhist temple, but that pales compared to the Giant Chicken Church which features much smaller crowds and a lower admission fee, though admittedly there are a lot fewer bas-reliefs of topless babes.
I had targeted the Malioboro so I stayed at the Grand Mercure Harmoni, which has taken the window-between-the-bedroom-and-the-shower thing to a new level: About three meters by three meters.
Having lost contact with the ISG (blocked by ISP) for some time I couldn't review the recent info on Malioboro so showed up too early, about 5:30, and the dancers were not doing their thing yet. I had looked forward to a bit of that to get me into the proper mind and dick set. My future bed-mate later said that they start at 8:00.
I grabbed a seat and a Coke and tried to discreetly check out the wares, which is difficult when the wares are checking YOU out. Like I said: Early and few customers. I was a prime target. Eventually a mamasan came over to see if I was looking for company or just really, really wanted a Coke. I was offered, if I recall correctly, Indo, Thai, Chinese, and Uzbek. I think there may have been another that escapes me now.
For no solid reason whatsoever I went with Uzbek. I'd never had an Uzbek before, but I've never had a lobotomy, either, so that is a BS reason. Soon I found out that Uzbek women, at least those haunting that establishment, were large women. But there was a token smaller one and my choice was easy. She was quite cute, even later without clothes, not a spectacular body but no fat, decent ass, and tiny pointy titties. We had a couple of Cokes and chatted. Her English was very good and we seemed to have good chemistry. I had fairly early suggested going upstairs but nothing came of it. When I asked why the variance, she says 1. 2 m includes a 300 k tip for the girl. Reasonable selection of Indos only, some 8/10's. In the room she stripped off and had a quite nice body but went into a rather perfunctory routine like a lot of the parlour girls in BKK who have their own strict routine and don't want to vary much from that. In any event, it will not be a problem.Just to add a bit more detail, I have found the pharmacies in the higher-end malls, such as Plaza Indonesia, have three brandings of Sildenafil: (1) Viagra, branded version and rather expensive; (2) Rozgra, an Indonesian brand, significantly less than Viagra but not remarkably cheap; and (3) what they call generic, the cheapest version. They generally don't call Rozgra "generic" so it should be asked for by name. For my money, that is the sweet spot as I haven't noticed any difference between it an Viagra, whereas what was sold to me as the cheaper generic Sildenafil didn't do the job and raised the question of what it really was.
As before, I'm not sure whether there is anything other than branded Cialis, if that is the drug you want. If there is, I suspect it might be the same deal as with Sildenafil, i.e., you might have to ask for it by the correct brand Indonesian name. But it wouldn't hurt to ask for it by its generic name, Tadalafil, to see what they show you.

This was no time to play the dodge the security guy taxi games on the departure level, but straight into a silver bird and on to the Grand Mercure Gajah Madah, which provides a comfortable base for any foray into the land of sin that is Mangga Besar. Check in, throw the valuables into the safe, brush the teeth and onto the ojek outside. First stop, money changer, then to pick up some experience enhancers from seedy nightclub. These ojek drivers are a great bunch of guys, they will happily wait for you, and look after your things while you do your business. The group outside Grand Mercure are always happy to help, they are a weatherbeaten bunch of guys but their hearts are good and they know all the rat runs.
Next stop favorite brothel complex where OS bids adios to Ojek and finds layers upon layers of beatiful young ladies of negotiable affection. They are a funny bunch, often they will scowl at bule, some will smile. But get them in the room and treat them nice and they become ever so GFE. How weird? And I did notice that I was charged a tax on my tip amount. Besides alcohol, the breakdown was: Local girl (1. 4 mil), room (250 k? Tip (300 k) and tax for a 1-1. 5 hrs of fun. On my way back I was thinking that may be a 2 mil pull from BATS / CJ's is not a bad deal at all. Decided to visit Alexis in the future only on emergencies.

The supply / demand mechanism is remarkably efficient at producing a fair price for both provider and consumer. And a single person, or even a bunch of them, paying too much or too little doesn't have much effect. Know the market price and then pay what it's worth to you. . . The prices you paid were about right for the venues you visited, so I wouldn't worry about it. 1. 5 million for overnight from BATS is not bad at all these days, although there might be some who negotiate hard or show up when things are slow and can report they got a better price (but then there is the quality question as some of those who might report getting low prices consistently might not be getting the highest quality). In any event, it sounds like you had fun, which is the main thing.

I spent some time in Jakarta recently. Went to Classic, Travel, Malioboro, Kings Cross and Sumo. The latter two were best.
[Deleted by Admin] On floor 5 the girls are less friendly and it is more difficult to interview, similar to Travel.
Travel was true to form, slightly prettier girls than Classic but difficult mamasans and hard work. Girls seem geared towards high-paying Asian customers. However, if one comes early in the evening one can have some success.
Malioboro is nice, more pricy than Classic and Travel. Note that has two separate parts, one more pure gogo club style, one more like Classic but with just a little gogo. The entrance to the latter closer to the street and is best for me, because I prefer selected from couches and having conversations, whereas in the former the music is louder, the tempo higher, the lights down etc. They are connected via an obscure corridor somewhere on the upper floors. One can end up spending quite a lot of money at Malioboro, especially if one is tempted to take one of the dancers to a room, as I was. And that can be difficult to resist because some of them are incredibly sexy, bouncy, energetic things.
As on my last trip, Kings Cross and Sumo, located a block apart in the Gelapa Gading area way out of the center of town, were my favorites. Prices vary, but are generally a bit above Classic and Travel without being unreasonable. When you walk in, the girls don't look all the great, but if you go for the ones who are interested in you you may have some beautiful experiences.

My recent trip to Jakarta wasn't a very good experience, due to immigration. Just a warning to those who don't know this, carry your passport with you when you are outside your hotel. I got detained outside the Novotel by immigration who were not too pleasant. They insisted on seeing my passport which I didn't have on me and then they wouldn't let me get it from the room. So I was detained in the office fro 24 hours, until I got the hotel manager to bring my passport to me in the office. It really was a nightmare /.
Next topic the girls at Blok M seems to be improving a bit, there were many more selections this time around in the bars in Blok M. Lots of new faces around and of course they all seems to be stuck on this 1 M price tag. Did take my usual girl but she isn't my much fun, very nice to look at, can dance as well but a "no touch" experience in the room. I thought over time she would lighten up a bit but still no GFE with her after so long.

In a way your post vindicates some of my earlier posts which stated I always (actually almost always) carry my passport with me when in Jakarta to avoid these sorts of situations. I have it in a passport holder that I keep in my front pocket but have attached to one of my belt loops for security (which is under my shirt tail). One of the yahoos here who seems to have nothing better to do than to criticize others' posts once posted that the fact I carried my passport with me meant I had no credibility on this board. I wish it was he, not you, who had been detained, but I suppose there is always hope for the future.

I had a few questions about my immigration issue so I will try to answer them now.
But first I saw a post about the threesome in Jakarta and as much as I would like to try this every time I go to Jakarta I can't seem to make it happen for the best result. About 1 year ago I tried 2 girls from the mama on Gajah Mada but it was a nightmare experience. And now I am concerned about the WOS in the Novotel as now I am known by everyone so what I do is surely passed around in the hotel.
Ok immigration details: I was leaving the Novotel on 26th July, 2016 around 11:45 pm (my usual time) on my way to Blok M. As I left the hotel I noticed a group of people with TV cameras out on the street in front of the hotel but I paid no attention to them and walked past. That's when several individuals claiming to be immigration officers approached me and asked for my passport, now I was still on Novotel property I didn't leave the hotel area when they approached me, as I didn't have my passport they told me I had to wait in the van that was parked on the street. While waiting they were manhandling several other tourists walking by on the street. We were taken to the immigration office in Kota and asked to wait there until the "boss" arrived. He did around 1:00 am and those who had their passports were processed first. There were about 45 individuals in the room, about 6 from the Novotel myself and 5 other Chinese (who had their passports). Others were from different hotels in the area.
In the office they were processing individuals at a very slow pace. Some of the others were from UK and other English speaking countries so we started to discuss among ourselves what was going on. Being held because we did have our passport and not being allowed to go and get it, really doesn't make any sense. Until one guy claimed that we would have to pay 250,000 IDR each as a fine to leave. But around 4:00 am they (immigration) decided that they would stop processing and that we would have to wait until the morning for when the "big boss" arrives. So once again we asked why can we not go and get our passports, no answer and at this point they (all of them) started to pretend that they can't speak English so they can't understand what we are asking.
At 9:00 am the next day some of the other individuals contacted their embassy and the embassies sent someone to help them out, but what the embassy individuals did was got to the hotels and bring the passports to the office. I contacted the Canadian embassy which was of no help whatsoever. On the trip by myself I was stuck as what to do. So I called the Novotel manager and he went to my room and sent the bellboy with my passport to the office. However the bellboy got the run around for about 3 hours (which I did not have any contact with him except by phone), after 3 hrs he called the manager who came down in person to speak with the whomever. He apparently made some progress as about 4 pm on Wednesday the "big boss. Stephen Gentes" came to speak with me to tell me that I would be processed later. Later was around 10:00 pm on Wednesday in which they checked / verified what they had to do and I was allowed to leave. The manager of the hotel really did help me out quite a bit and for that I am eternally grateful.
Someone asked about a bribe but I wasn't about to pay any bribes if that was ever a topic with me I would have called the hotel manager once again to intervene. But some of the other guys were telling me that they were told they had to pay 2. 5 M IDR to get released, he got this from his wife as she was discussing this with the officers. How true this is I don't know.
This is my very disappointing experience in Jakarta for July 2016, I have been coming here semi-annually for almost 10 years. Looks like I will have to choose BKK next time for my holidays.

I used to carry a photocopy of the relevant portions of my passport. However, I once was stopped while in a Bluebird on Pangeran Jayakarta and the policeman said I needed my original passport and had a choice of paying him $100 US or "going to the office." I ended up negotiating the amount down to 100,000 rupiah, but found the incident unsettling, particularly given who knows what he would have done if I selected "going to the office"; I suppose there was an outside chance of having drugs planted on me or something similar.
Since that incident I do almost always carry my passport while in Jakarta. Although I have been stopped only one additional time (I noted where most of the stops in North Jakarta were being made and avoided them), showing my passport got me through that checkpoint. One might counter that if a policeman wants a bribe, he will find out a way even if one has his original passport with him, but I think the phrase "honor among thieves," might apply here, at least to some extent. Meaning even a corrupt policeman has to rationalize his own behavior, and adopt certain rules, such as "it is okay to solicit a bribe from someone who is breaking the law, but not from someone who is not. " It undoubtedly is a rule that does not apply 100 percent of the time but I suspect more often than not a policeman in Jakarta is not going to go out of their way to shake someone down who has their passport with them and is otherwise complying with the law.
So, I nearly always carry my passport while in Indonesia. In Thailand I never do owing to my assessment the risk is much lower although I am a bit concerned about whether things might at some point get a bit more difficult under the military dictatorship.

It s a common tactic.If you are Caucasian, I think it may be safer to carry your passport, since you may be an easy target. I have yet to experience it since I am Asian and probably blend in better in the crowd. But never say never, knock on wood. Nonetheless, as the saying goes, a simple bribe will go a long away. I would assume Rp. 100 K will be more than enough for them if you are ever caught in a jam. After all, it's the endgame for all these corrupt people.

I always make multi-copies of passport plus USA offers a $25 passport card, size of credit card which I carry as my regular ID when abroad. YMMV.

So I wonder what real value it would have in a place like Jakarta over a copy of my passport book and my Drivers License. The policeman looked a bit puzzled by this and seemed to suggest it was not sufficient (but my memory on this is not perfect), but then focused on trying to get a bribe from me, not my friend. Frankly, the 100,000 rupiah I decided to pay the policeman also took into account there were two of us he could go after. What was unclear is whether if only my friend were in the Bluebird and then showed his passport card, the policeman would have let him go. In our case, it did serve to deflect the policeman's attention to me, but I would put it at 50/50 at best the passport card would have worked if only my friend were in the Bluebird.

The traveler's wallet has a clip that can be used to secure it to a belt loop while the passport itself is in my front pocket. I don't like that it takes up a pocket, but unless someone put a gun to my head and said "your passport or your life" the likelihood of losing it is rather slim.

I don't think it matters if you are Caucasian or Asian at that point. These cops are basically looking for opportunities to make some money. That is my understanding. One question though, does these checkpoints happen more frequently at South Jakarta? I was in Jakarta during March of last year, but I did not spend much time in South Jakarta.

Am thinking about a quick run to Jakarta for Saturday.
The Hari Raya Idul Adha is on Monday. Based on previous reports, bars will close by early evening Sunday and then all day Monday. I hope to be in and out (literally) by early Sunday morning. But am curious if numbers in places like Classic, Travel and the Kota Indah places will be dramatically down on Saturday, or should it be OK?
5 or 6 of us will be arriving evening of 14 September and leaving on afternoon of 17 September. Staying at Mulia Senayan.
Most likely will be frequenting Malioboro, Alexis, Blok M area, etc. Let me know if anyone else is in town and wants to hook up, we'll be having some serious fun.

I've been to lots of mongering destinations before, but never Jakarta. Ideally I would like to stay in an area that has a choice of go go style bars within walking distance from the hotel, so that I can take a girl back for fun and games. Whereas other places like BKK and AC have streets full of such bars, in Jakarta they appear to be spread out across the city. Block M looks a bit isolated in the south, with the majority of topless / nude bars being in isolated locations across the north and west of the city.
I would like to avoid the need for taxi's to get to my destination and was hoping that somebody could suggest a hotel / area of town that would fit my plans.
I would imagine cops would want to see one's visa stamp and are not just looking for official ID in their shakedown attempts.

I'm an avid reader of this forum and will be visiting Jakarta for the first time in September can someone please tell me the current ongoing prices for places like Alexis, classic and Malioboro for one session because I don't want to overpay.You won't overpay. The prices at those places are fixed and they don't charge anyone any differently from anyone else.
My recent trip to Jakarta wasn't a very good experience, due to immigration. Just a warning to those who don't know this, carry your passport with you when you are outside your hotel. I got detained outside the Novotel by immigration who were not too pleasant. They insisted on seeing my passport which I didn't have on me and then they wouldn't let me get it from the room. So I was detained in the office fro 24 hours, until I got the hotel manager to bring my passport to me in the office. It really was a nightmare /.
Did you not offer them money? They are normally only looking for 100K rupiah, never more than 300k. 24 hours isn't worth saving that little bit of money.
There was a police blockade just over the bridge on rasuna said the other night where the Izzi pizza used to be. (near taman lawang) They don't seem to worry too much about those lady boys in that area prostituting themselves, but they do like to generate some cash checking for passports. I, of course, did not have my passport with me (there is no way I will carry my passport around town considering how drunk I get most times - i would lose it for sure). I paid the 100k (less than 8 bucks USD) and continued on my way in less than 5 minutes. It's so rare that I run into those police blockades, I don't even worry about them.

In my experience, it's always normal cops checking passports and asking for bribes in the streets. I haven't had an immigration cop ask me for money in over 10 years. 10 days condensed version of a first trip. Arrived from Thailand after over 2 months, so needed a day off to build up the energy. This was basically a trip to leave Thai and return to activate a second visa.
Here is a run down of the venues and fun to be had.
Stayed at the Mercure Hotel. Great location. Right on the main road and within 5-10 minutes of Malio / Maliboro, Classic, and Travel.
First day Malio and Malioboro. Good time, good looking girls, drinks downstairs and upstairs. 1/2 of the girls were shy to come during the presentation. When the mama went to get them, a lot stayed seated. Just FYI.
Met some cool Indo dude at the table next to me. He ended up buying me a pitcher of beer (even though I had a full beer). I asked him and the girl he was drinking with to help me drink it. Everyone happy. Didn't take a girl that night. Prices quoted at that time were 1. 2 m and 8 k (tier structure).
Day 2 - Classic. Lots of girls sitting on couches spread throughout the place. All shapes and sizes. You need to move around to get a good view of the girls because the place is big. This is a very long and very overdue post. This was back in February, so I don't know how applicable it is to this day, but it's a good reference point from the perspective as a newbie for newbies. So I just spent a few days doing touristy stuff. I also got a fantastic deal at the Mecure Kota for one of their best suites. It was my last night in Jakarta, so I decided to hit up all the usual spots that I read from these forums. I went over to Block M to start out my night. First stop D's Place and it wasn't very good. That starts at 10 am. But you are staying far from there if you are staying at the Mercure harmoni.

Having said that, I've had sessions as early as 12 Noon - 12:30 pm at Malioboro and Kartika, and at 1 pm at Royal Mas and Berlian, but your choices will be limited and several of the ladies may be older than what you're looking for.
And as Smoothy pointed out, Hotel Melawai Maribaya 6th floor massage is open as early as 11 am, they actually have two distinct shifts, daytime and evening time (with shift change around 5 pm). Kartika also appears to have two shifts, daytime and late-afternoon / evening.
There's also a really old massage place on the side street Jalan Sekolah Lio (just north of the Hotel Mercure, turn right and it's on the left, one block down) that has a bunch of girls in a fishbowl at lunchtime, the name escapes me (I haven't been there in years), not sure if it's still open.

I can't write much about them since I have never been there myself. But on the North and West side of Jakarta, there are more spas, KTV, and night clubs.
There are a few places that you can visit if this is your first time. These can include Malioboro, Alexis, Colosseum 1001 etc where you can find many things under one roof. These are relatively pricey joints, and so they do not come cheap. However, you can get a bigger selection of quality girls to choose from. At night, in Malioboro and Alexis lounge area, you can see girls dancing nude on stage, but I find their dancing mechanical and boring. I went to CJ last night, deciding to skip Malioboro after reading the negative report experienced by one of our ISGer. Malioboro over rated and not worth the expense. I have never had a star fish experience at Classic. Always had a wonderful experiences there. I think it just comes down to how you treat the women. Treat them like no bodies, expect a start fish experience. Treat them with respect, good chance you'll get a great time.

On my previous trip to Classic I had 3 girls with decent service at Classic 2 (two girls got tips, the third didn't let me take a picture), and 1 very good girl at Classic 5 (that one earned a nice tip). Now on this trip, I had one really good girl so far there. She gave a serious BBBJ, multiple positions, and let me take photos afterwards. Great girl with a sexy ass body. She was supposed to come over the next day before work, but was a no-show. I figure they all have a 50/50 chance of not coming through. No sweat though since there are tons of options. In fact, I saw about 7-9 girls that I liked in Classic 2. I will be back.

I always treat every girl as if they were my personal girlfriend. Although it doesn't always work out that way, I love the GFE experience. That is of course why I prefer free lancers over the brothel girls as well. It's much easier to get a GFE with a free lancer who only goes with you that night over a girl who spreads her legs for 8 different guys a night. I don't find that paying more money does much to get you a better experience though. I'm of course not a fan of Classic or Travel, but there are plenty of down market places with the same type of young girls that I love because the girls are more playful. I'm not really even a big fan of Malioboro because there is a decent chance for a star fish experience there as well. However, I wouldn't say that Malioboro is overrated because there is an advantage to going to Malioboro over going to Hotel Classic. (forget Hotel Travel, I think that place sucks) The advantage Malioboro or even King Cross have over Hotel Classic is that they charge a high enough cover charge to keep the lower class locals out. I can sit in Malioboro in a nice, clean, enjoyable atmosphere and enjoy my drink in leisure while I pick out my girl. If I am sitting in Hotel Classic on a busy night there are literally over 1000 cheap ass local guys there to watch the nude dancers. They fill the place with smoke and it's crowded as hell. Also, the Malioboro girls only have sex with one or two guys in a night. The Classic girls are shagged about 8 times a night. So the Malioboro girls are fresher. I'm not even saying the girls at Malioboro are any better looking, because those girls rotate between the two places on many occasions.
I never go to Classic at night because by that time the girls have already been shagged too many times and the place is crowded. However, I will on occasion go to Classic during the day. Maybe that's why they are almost always starfish. They just woke up. Haha.

So at the end the girls each ask for a tip, and I'm assuming that is normal as in the other places like this and I tip each girl. Then I start to go downstairs to leave back to Shangri La and BATS as quickly as possible after this soulless fuck session. As I reach the staircase, the guy sitting there asks for a tip, and also the random guy sitting next to him. Typical BS that he keeps the rooms in order, so I tip them both and as I start down that stairs, they say also their other friend needs a tip. Complete BS at this point, but it gets better. I go to the front desk to settle my bill and it has condoms on the bill. I tell them I paid the woman upstairs because she said it was cash for condoms. 'No' they tell me, 'you shouldn't pay cash for the condoms'. Screw it, at this point, I just want to leave. Now as I head out the door, there are 2 security guys, some other random dude in a uniform and a woman, and they all ask for tips, making it very clear I won't be getting out the door without giving tips. I tip all those assholes and literally as I'm getting in the taxi, the security guy holding open the taxi door asks for a tip and won't close the door until I give it to him. The taxi driver is actually laughing about the situation.
Never again, period, never. All these years in Asia and I thought I had seen all the BS, but Malioboro now holds a special place in my heart for being a complete waste. Makes Alexis look like the Magic Kingdom. I was so happy to get back to BATS (where I never should have strayed from!) find a sexy Indonesian party girl and get completely pampered by Asian sexiness in the comfort of my hotel room!..Sorry to hear about your crummy experience with the tip-mongers. I'd suggest never tipping someone who's given you little or no service (such as the guys in the hallway, the security folks, and the guy who got you a taxi). Simply smile and say 'sorry'. The deal is that these guys use that line on hundreds of people and very rarely (I mean extremely rarely) get a positive response. When one of them does get a tip, a feeding frenzy starts and everyone wants their part. Sort of like in the days of door-to-door sales people, if you bought a set of encyclopedias you'd soon find a vacuum cleaner salesperson at your door. A similar thing sometimes happens at Classic when you turn in your 'yes I've paid' card at the door when leaving, the girls that take your card sometimes ask for a tip (they want 20 k). Just smile and say 'sorry', no one will think badly of you. All that said, I agree that Alexis is a way nicer place to deal with than Malioboro.

I would never recommend taking 2 girls at Malioboro, Hotel Classic or Hotel Travel. Taking 2 always seems to cause the girls to perform worse. If you want 2 girls in Jakarta, Maribaya at Hotel Melawai and Kartika near Malioboro are the only 2 guaranteed good sessions. But the girls there are not the youngest or most beautiful. I still would recommend a threesome at those places over 2 younger girls in a bad session at Malioboro, Classic or Travel...I agree, 2 always sounds good in theory, but in practice they end up spending more time talking with each other than having fun with you. I think they also put a damper on each other, neither wants to look like they're putting out too much for a client in front of the other.
