My trip was of six days but due to Eid two days everything remained shut in Jakarta. Remaining four nights I tried travel (I found classic way better). I tried the underground clubs like siera (empty on the night I visited). Tried cherry club (the same two nude gals come to you for drink concept and many not good looking gals on couches waiting customers).
I tried the famous cj's club in mulia hotel but could not find even one hottie or stunner the whole night on that particular night. Costly entry charges and drinks. Went to blok m but that day it was all closed. Tried wechat and tinder apps and was quite successful getting many contacts from there. Enjoyed one night with a cutie in my hotel. One night was out clubbing in blowfish and dragonfly clubs with another hotty then back to my room with her. That was the last night a Saturday and both clubs were jam packed. Tried immigrants; colosseum and illegals but all three I found empty on those nights may be I entered too early or may be due to weekdays. In all I enjoyed. The apps worked great. Will be back there again for sure.

But it's likely either the exact same area as the first pic or Robinson. Looks like a room at Robinson to me. Both are run down, fairly dirty, old down market areas with the same prices as you find at the nice clean newer places like Hotel Classic. (Although Robinson may be a bit cheaper.)

Don't waste your time. They are open. As far as I know, ALL of the brothels in Jakarta are still open. The only one in all of Jakarta that I know of closing in the last year or so was Maribaya. The places that closed recently were not brothels, they were drug infested discos.

This time around, after plenty of reading and research, I decided and planned that for sure I'd visit Malioboro and King Cross at night, and Hotel Classic in the afternoon, and either repeat them or add other joints to the list once on the ground.
CLASSIC HOTEL
Went there around 4pm on a Tuesday, knowing only the Second Floor would be open.
The inside is cavernous, very big and dark, and at the time quite empty, I would say there were maybe 15 girls, all sitting on couches, and I only noticed 1 other customer.
A mamasan immediately approached me, so we talked a bit, then I listed for her what I was looking for:
- slim girl (very easy)
- no baby (no problem)

The pole dancers had no business taking off their clothes, with sagging tits and asses and stretchmarks all over the place.
The show upstairs was better, both as a dancing routine and mainly because the girls ranged from decent to very pretty, although you shouldn't expect anything in the Malio Club range.
It was from here that I selected a wild, dark, very shapely thing, a girl from Borneo heavily tattooed with an aggressive streak but at the same time a sweet disposition. Also, she had been married to an Australian guy, so her English was a lot better than average.
Once in the room she didn't rush at all: we took our showers and slowly got down to business, BBBJ, DATY, a couple positions and then I took her doggy, pinned her down on the mattress with a hand between her shoulder blades, and pumped hard until I exploded.

Add to the steep price the lack of patrons and the sedated mood of the evening (unlike I found at Malio Club), and all things considered I can't really rate the overall experience any more than 6,5 out of 10

Went twice, on a Sunday ad on a Tuesday, both times around 11pm
In each instance at some point I peeked inside the Lounge floor, but after the eye candy of Malio Club, the quality there was too low, so I didn't even bother to sit for a drink, and went back downstairs.

A lot has been written about this club/brothel, how it works and how much much things cost, so I don't think there's a lot I can add beside detailing my own experiences.
For those who haven't yet been there, I would only say that Malio Club is like experiencing a strip-club-movie-scene.
What I mean is, you know how in some movies the strip club is a place where everybody has fun, the girls get totally naked and are really attractive, where customers can touch the girls and finally have sex with them inside the club itself?
But then in reality most if not all strip clubs are not at all like that: lap dances happen behind curtains, people are often a bit self-aware, you can't touch the girls or fuck them.
Obviously not everybody will share my sentiment, but I always found strip clubs to be sad places where you spend a lot of money for very little returns.
Well, Malio for me was a dream come true, the materialization of what a fun strip club could and should be.
Very pretty girls who take all their clothes off dance on the stage, which is itself surrounded by couches where more girls grind their naked bodies all over their customers, some shirtless themselves, who in turn smile and howl and drink and have fun.
The same but pushing things even further happens in the booths upstairs, behind the balconies perched over the stage: there you can fondle the girls, kiss them, suck their nipples, grab their asses and stroke their pussies, and of course not necessarily just one girl at a time but as many as you like.
Finally (depending on the girl), you can get a BBBJ or even fuck them, right there on the couches.
I don't think I ever had as much fun in a club/brothel as I did in Malio, and I was by myself, no friends or wingman!

ACCOMODATION
After some research and an e-mail to make sure it was girlfriendly, I opted for hotel Aryaduta Jakarta, just South-East of Monumen Nasional, which I felt was quite strategically placed relative to the brothels, bars and restaurants I meant to visit.
I was proven right, since despite the horrific city traffic it took me a relatively short time to get everywhere.
Also, the wi-fi was reliable and the staff polite and helpful.
To top it off, for those who like me want to get a local sim card, a Telkomsel center is right behind the corner.
I would repeat.

However, I've never taken a dancer from either place other than to get their phone numbers to come to my house, so I don't know the prices of the dancers. I do know that the regular sex girls at KC are close to half the price of the girls at Malioboro (600 k compared to 1 juta). I haven't been to KC in a while so I believe you when you say the current crop is not good, but I did visit Malioboro recently and there were not many girls there who justified the 1 juta 1 hour short time price tag. OK guys, just got back from a vacation in Indonesia, during which I spent three nights in Jakarta. Not enough to see it all, mind you, but enough to peek into most of the hot spots. The facts and details of most of these places are covered quite well in the forum, reading back only about 6 months, so I'll leave you to that. What I'll do is give you my impressions, as well as some advice geared to first timers planning their trip things that I would have wanted to know.
So here is the lay of the land. Jakarta is obviously a big crazy megalopolis similar to Manila, but perhaps a notch less congested and crazy. If you visited Manila before and learned how to deal with life and getting around there, then you know what to expect and are well prepared. Its generally divided into three areas North, Central and South Jakarta. There is a large, multi-line, main street artery than runs north-south, connecting the three parts of town, called Ji Gaja Mada. This is the main drag. The North Jakarta is the historic district, including Chinatown. It is somewhat rundown. Central Jakarta is the bustling heart of Jakarta. There is a big central park, as well as the best concentration of hotels and restaurants. Southern Jakarta is where some of the more upper class live. It has more of a polished, lounge scene, with hipsters and bars. President' Obama lived here for four years an attended a small, somewhat privileged elementary school.
In regards to punting, there is a broad swath of spas, strip / night clubs with full service rooms, and pickup bars. I have seen longer comprehensive lists that would probably cater to people who visit Jakarta on business or live here, but for visiting tourists, I would say that there are three primary venues: Alexis Hotel Spa, Malioboro / Malio club, and Hotel Classic. Alexis is in Northern Jakarta, Malioboro and Classic are in Central Jakarta. The pickup bars, namely CJ and Bats, I believe are in Southern Jakarta. I didn't visit those places. On vacation in countries where I don't speak the language, I prefer point and shoot.
Alexis Hotel is essentially an FKK without the outdoor pool / lawn facilities. Its spa facilities are very nice, with three different temperature pools. There are several masseuse cabanas near the pools, for legit massages. I got one there that is one of the best massages that I can ever remember getting an hour for 200,000, which is $16! I highly highly recommend getting one as a way to perhaps kill time between sessions. The lady companions are divided into two groups Indonesian and import, with fees as previously described. The available women here were the prettiest that I saw at any venue in Jakarta, particularly for the Indo women. I thought that some of the Vietnamese women were absolutely stunning. Despite its seemingly high price, if it is within your budget, I actually think that Alexis provides a good value experience, though I would probably change my mind if they raised the prices any higher. My main issue with Alexis is that it is way in the Northeast sticks. It's a day trip. You can't go there and cruise the local area, because there is nothing there. Going there is a commitment for the evening, and getting back can be a chore dealing with taxi drivers trying to press their captive audience.
Maliboro and Malio club are intertwined and physically connected. I walked into Malio, asking for Malioboro, and they just told me to come on in. They are in what is either the same building or two connected buildings. The wristband that they give you for billing covers both clubs. Malio Club is a strip club, with ladies that are either dancers, or strippers that do lapdances at your table. Some of the dancers are downright gorgeous, though they have limited availability. You will have to talk them into it, and it is expensive. But I liked it very much as a place to hang out and drink. Great scenery, and the DJ mixing the music on a Thursday night was fantastic. Seriously, the music is really good. You can then move on to Malioboro, which is like a brightly lit nightclub / bar with a small stripper stage. The ladies of different origin hangout at specific tables for easy identification. There is a large Indonesian section, a Chinese table, and a Slavic table. By my eye, I actually thought that the Russian / Uzbek women here were the best looking, followed closely by the Chinese girls. The Indo women here were of much lower quality here than at Alexis, and in my opinion, no better looking than the women at the budget location Hotel Classic.
Hotel Classic is a little east of the main drag, but still definitely central Jakarta. Hotel Classic is the name of the building (which by the way, is NOT a hotel), but the nightclub within it is called Terminal. You enter the building and take the escalator up two flights to find the entrance to Terminal. This is a for locals, all-Indo night club with amenities. It is not for the faint of heart. It is VERY dark (you can barely make people out) and very cigarette smoky. The night that I was there, on stage was a terrible live band with volume cranked way way up. It was annoying. The area is patrolled by an army of mamasans whose mission in life is too hook you up. The problem is, each mamasan only pushes for their small group of girls, not all the girls. To get a feel for all the women there, you have to roam around on your own.
For punting, I would probably recommend either Alexis or Hotel Classic. Both are good value, depending on your budget. Although Malio Club is a great place to hangout, Malioboro I think is poor value.
I briefly stopped by two other venues. Illegals is an FKK / spa in the are between North and Central Jakarta, but on the main road. Inside, it is a little dark, but otherwise absolutely gorgeous facilities. More luxurious than Alexis. It even has themed fantasy rooms for your use a weight room / gym, a hospital room, and an office. The use of these fantasy suites are included with your general fee, and at no extra charge. Its too bad that the small group of women, maybe 7-8, were not even close to my liking. That plus the entire facility itself was eerily empty. When I walked in on a Friday night, there were only four other guys sitting together at a table. It's a shame. The owner has obviously invested a lot of money in Illegals it is a luxurious, first class facility. But the quality of lady companions was so poor that they don't get any foot traffic, despite being directly on the main drag. I think the owner will need to put some ladies on salary or else risk losing his entire investment. But you can see what the intent is. I hope he succeeds. I would definitely encourage any punters to at least check it out. Its worth the cover charge just to see the place at the chance that there may be someone to your liking.
I had also heard of a soapy called Kartika that is just next door to Illegals. Ick. The ladies were all old enough to be mamasans. Don't even bother.
So where to stay? I took the advice of many on the forum and stayed at the Grand Mercure Harmoni, which is at the northern end of Central Jakarta. It's a very nice hotel, more than worth the roughly $90/ night you will pay to stay here. It is directly on the main drag, huge and easy to see, and all the taxi drivers know where it is. It is about 200 m walking distance to Malio / Malioboro, and on the main east / west street that is a 5 minute straight shot taxi ride to Hotel Classic. In addition, a stop on the Transjakarta bus line is literally at your doorstep. If you want to save some money, the Ibis Harmoni is literally next door, and almost half the price. I doubt that they are girl friendly though. Regardless, based on the lay of the land, I think that these are by far the best hotel choices. The only problem with this area is that it is not "walkable" and there are no restaurants in the area.
Alexis would be a 30-60 minute taxi "day trip," but that would be true of anywhere you make your bed. It's in the sticks. I would recommend going to Alexis after a day shopping at the nearby ITC Mannga Dua shopping mall, which is famous for knockoffs of every kind, including handbags and Adidas sneakers that you will embarrassingly hoard. You won't need to dress up there like you would want to at Malioboro. Stinky t-shirt and shorts are fine, because you are just going to immediately take a shower and put on a bathrobe.
Some other random advice. If you like to exchange currency like I do, make sure to bring only the newest, unmarked hundred dollar bills. Nobody takes the older edition bills. I couldn't find anyone to take them. I may as well have wiped my ass with them.
I also used the Transjakarta bus line quite a bit. It is a network of modern, air-conditioned buses that run in a protected lane medial to the flow of traffic. It functions somewhat like a subway or tram line. The most used line is "Corridor One" which runs the length of Gaja Mada. If your points of interest are on or close to the main drag, it is easily the fastest way to get around. Just don't take it during morning or afternoon rush hour, or you will be pressed up on other people like the Japanese bullet trains. But off peak, its quick, pleasant, and dirt cheap. However, if you are headed significantly OFF the main drag, then take a cab.

Counterfeit bills are rife in Indo and the rotating door of public officials love to have their egos massaged by appearing on new bills. The result is new bills are issued in a regular basis and old series notes are made unusable with little notice.

OK guys, just got back from a vacation in Indonesia, during which I spent three nights in Jakarta. Not enough to see it all, mind you, but enough to peek into most of the hot spots. The facts and details of most of these places are covered quite well in the forum, reading back only about 6 months, so I'll leave you to that. What I'll do is give you my impressions, as well as some advice geared to first timers planning their trip things that I would have wanted to know.That's a good summary of the highlights of the place. I would have a few different takes, but a great intro. The city certainly screams for a better hotel in the northern central part of town. Most are pretty dumpy places, but I'm fairly certain that all are girl-friendly. Every place I have stayed from the airport Ibis to the Four Seasons is girl-friendly, just walk them in and up to your room anytime day or night. Recently, at the Raffles I called down and said a girl was coming in an hour or so and they could send her up the lift. I gave them her name (not sure if it was her real name or not). At 12:30 am there was a knock on the door and she was there, unescorted. Very handy.

I did find one bank, Mandiri bank, which sometimes took the old hundred bills, if they had this "counterfeit" scanner that they would run the bills through. However, not all the branches had them, and even when they did, it felt like an accomodation. I only found two branches on my whole trip that took them: one in Labuanbajo and one in Jogja.
If you are in a jam, and have run out of the new bills, try Mandiri bank. But you'll have to get lucky. Most of the time I was walking around, sweaty as balls, peddling these bills to different bank branches trying to find someone to take them. It was a royal pain in the ass. But in my view, exchanging currency is still the way to go. ATM and credit card fraud is a big problem all over the world, so I try to minimize their use. But If you go to any bars, or "vendors" and try to give them the US dollar, they will totally screw you on the exchange rate. I usually exchange more than I think I will spend, and whatever local currency I have left over, I spend at a local pharmacy right before I leave for the airport.
And one thing I forgot to mention: food.
I was told by many people that street food carts in Indonesia don't meet the same cleanliness standards as in Thailand or Vietnam. So be careful. But luckily, the dollar is strong, so even "upscale" restaurants will be affordable. My favorite restaurant in Jakarta ended up being Sate Khas Senayan. There are several branches around the city, but I wouldn't call it a chain. Great place to try all the Indonesian classics. They are known for their sate (grilled meats on a stick). Their beef satay with peanut sauce was to fucking die for. I ate there 3 times.

(All prices Inclusive). Not intending to spend on Drinks or food. I am aiming just for the 7'th floor Bath house experience. Will try to get a Vietnamese Chick as recommended by many out here. I understand that the prices are different for girls based on their nationality, and therefore I want to be sure about the current rates. Well I decided to stay in this part of the city as I always wanted to check out Top 1 and Bandara Club which are near Medika off of Jalan Daan Mogot. Well I reached Top 1 at about 7 pm and was told to come back at 9 pm as it was still closed. At Bandara it essentially was empty except for two rather plain but young girls ready to give a massage for 285 K. Of course it was time to head on back to Medika Club. IMHO Medika is like a big Kota Idah Club with the same amount of the girls. Based on those numbers one is bound to find your type which I did for 380 K. Pretty good service and was aiming to please me but still just so so blow job as she kept on stopping to spit into a napkin plus it was covered. At about 9 pm the dancers go on stage and happily they ended up nude. Later there going around trying to sell lady drinks (similar to Classic). Now the rooms upstairs are more than a bit better than the typical Kota Indah room so one must give them credit there plus beers are cheaper. Undoubtedly, after a few beers plus a heavy late dinner on the way, I headed on back to the other two clubs. I was expecting to find just more uglies. Well at Top 1 there was simply no girls as its become just a local hangout for karaoke singers. Bandara was essentially a local hangout also but with massage services. Now there was a total of maybe 15 providers all were below grade except for one who had a petite college girl cuteness about her with good curves (had a Jewish American Princess look). What the hell for 285 K there was nothing to lose. She did give a good GFE and did have a real flat stomach.
Over in this part of town still my favorite is FM 1 with girls starting at 300 k (or 450 K for two hours) but not a huge selection pool. I like it as you get to do the deed in a nicer hotel room than Classic or Travel and have access to the sauna if you pick a 300 k girl before 7 pm or so.

I like that place much better than Alexis, and I would recommend that you check it out if you like the SPA services. I personally do not like the SPA type services, as I find the whole things too mechanical, and the girls do not even kiss, ugh! Anyway, you can get a pretty good line up of locals and imports (mostly Thai, Vietnamese etc, you might even on occasion get some girls from Russia). By the way, their SPA does not open until 3 PM.
If you are into clubbing, Colosseum is definitely the place to be in on Friday or Saturday night. Open a table, order a bottle or two, order a girl or two from the Karaoke lineup to accompany you, enjoy the DJ and dance through the night, and if you like the girl, book her out for the night. I prefer girls from such lineup there, since they are very GFE and fun to be with. However, all these may not come cheap, as the total tab can come up to 5 - 7 million Rp per night easily, but that would have usually included the fee paid to book the girl out. But I prefer this kind of experience.

Bintang Mawar was the first place I ever experienced that cat-licking. Then again, it was one of the first places I ever visited in Jakarta. Cat-licking used to be standard service in many places in Jakarta. I rarely experience it anymore. I never liked it anyway. It tickled more than anything. That being said, you can ask the girls to do that and I am sure they likely will. Just tell them "mau mandy kooching".
As far as twins, I've only seen one set of twins working as hookers in my 20 or so years in Jakarta. They weren't bad looking, but they were mute. They were affectionately known as the "squeekers". But they have to be 40 years old by now. If twins are what you are looking to find, good luck.

Based on my experience and reading the forums I am choosing Pattaya over Jakarta. To be fair I have not been to Pattaya and I'm making my virgin trip there in February. I have been going to Indonesia for over 15 years. My main motivation for the Pattaya trip is the openness of sex in Thailand particularly Pattaya. A few updates for you guys out there. I tried to find information about Emporium in this forum but there is barely none. I can update you a bit. There is your Top 10. Remember, almost all nightclubs in Jakarta are expensive. Most will apply a cover charge of IDR 200,000 or so. If you drink a lot, its best to buy a bottle. That will get you a table or a couch. Book in advance if its a weekend.
Dress well. This is not Pattaya. Bouncers take their jobs pretty seriously. You will be refused entry if not dressed appropriately. No matter how much money you got in your pockets.
Music is pretty average IMHO but then this is hardly the focus. The focus is girls, which are in plentiful at these places. While a majority are hookers, you will bump into the odd sideline chick who is looking to make a quick buck or simply enjoying herself. Prices are always a matter of negotiation but I have never managed to get anyone under IDR 700,000. And I have paid as high as IDR 2,000,000. There is no concept of ST with these girls.

If you can speak some Indonesian, or just let them think you are a local expat, they will likely come down in price. Everything is negotiable, supply and demand on the night, and it depends how much you can be arsed to get a better price. In my experience, a higher price does not necessarily mean better service.
It is a bit of sport for me, so I try to get the best price possible by speaking Indonesian to them and negotiating hard if I am in the mood for it. Then if they were awesome I give them extra money and get their phone number for repeats. If they are a crap star fish, then I blow and they go with just the agreed amount.
I was talking to a girl in BATS awhile ago and we were bantering back and forth negotiating. I didn't really care if she came with me or not. Eventually she agreed to 600, but it took so long that she was hopelessly drunk by that time I just knew it was going to end badly for me so I told her no. She left angry and drunk, and another great girl appeared and we had a great time.
I am not suggesting that they will all go for 600, just that supply and demand was on my side that night, and they will negotiate.

I went to the Pool at 1001 for the first time and was impressed. As mentioned elsewhere, it's in the same building as the Colosseum and an easy walk from Fatahillah square. It's even nicer than Alexis, with prices and so on identical to Alexis, unfortunately including the new rule barring girls from the pool. Men can play in it, and girls watch and wait from the side. Everyone agrees the rule is temporary, but no one knows when it will end or even why it exists. In any case, I definitely recommend it, it may be my new favourite.

Most places in Jakarta are exactly the same as they were 5 years ago. Sure, the girls change, but I find the gogos in Thailand to have drastic swings between good times and bad times to visit. But the places in Jakarta are consistent for the most part. However, there are certain nights when places are better than others. Every place in town has their hottest girls there on Friday and Saturday night. However, there are special occasions like Wednesday night at CJs where there are many more girls than other week nights.
When I am in Bangkok, I also can easily visit 10 gogos every night. But in Jakarta, things are not as easy. They are more spread out. I went to 4 different places in Jakarta the other night and that's 3 more than I normally ever visit in a night in Jakarta, but that was over an 8 hour span. Things are much more spread out in Jakarta and it requires a taxi to go from one to the other.
Of course Thailand is much easier to have fun (especially during the day). But Jakarta is also lots of fun. Especially if you speak Indonesian. Speaking Thai doesn't matter much in Thailand because the place is so targeted towards sex tourism anyway and it's in the open, but it is a pretty big advantage to speak Indonesian in Indonesia. You may want to bone up on some before you visit.

Skimming through your posts you have been around South East Asia. You will be just fine. You are the boss in all situations, don't need to take any crap from any girl. Interestingly, word on street is that the powers behind Alexis and other entertainment venues in the city are the ones who backed the new Governor during his campaign. There is curiosity around how the Governor will balance the interests of his voters and his "investors".
If the licence is not renewed, Alexis might go to court, which means there might be a full roster of political, military and corporate names that start tumbling out. It could lead to the scandal of the decade.

I wrote about it in my field report a couple of months ago. The inside is larger and very luxurious. Nicer than Alexis. It even has several "fantasy rooms" to use: a hospital bed, a gym, and an office. If you decide to hook up with a lady, use of the fantasy rooms is free.
Other than being dark (not well lit enough), the facilities were the best that I saw in Jakarta. Only problem was that the quality of the ladies there was low.

I had a couple of days to kill in Jakarta before moving to Singapore. This was my 4'th visit to the city in the last one odd year. Didn't plan on punting initially but ended up having a good time. Here's a short Field Report for a place I haven't read much about over here.
Be Fashion Hotel: Didn't expect much while going in but had a terrific time here. Entered the place. Took the elevator straight to their 9'th floor Pool / Spa area. Wasn't interested in the pool so went straight in for the Spa.
The mamasan and other ladies at the reception were very friendly and welcoming. They explained in rather fine detail the different massage packages available. As the late great Jim Morrison sang in one of his best songs, "The Future is Uncertain and the End is Always Near" applies to the Jakarta scene today.
Alexis will be missed, believe you me. No nudity at Malio Club / Malioboro Lounge temporarily or forever is a drag, but at least the club is still open with plenty of sexy, obliging girls. Same same for Kings Cross, Classic and wherever. CJ's and Bats are still rocking.

Most spa's in Asia work pretty much the same way. At the reception you generally are given a wrist band with a number on it. You may pay an entrance fee at that time or you may pay later when you leave. You then are escorted into a shower and locker room where you undress, often in front of the local locker room boys who will offer to help you - don't be shy, now. They will get you some shorts or a robe or something to wear. You will lock your clothes in the locker. Some places will not let you bring your phone with you but most will. You are expected to shower and get clean. (Some places such as Macao will have women who will sit you on a plastic stool or chair that has a wide slot in the seat and they will give your cock, balls and ass a long sensual soapy wash. Haven't seen that in JK). After that everything you do that costs money is charged against the number on your wrist. You can often bring along some cash so that you can directly tip the girls. You pay when you leave at the reception with cash or credit card (usually they will take cards, but check when you enter). Generally you can relax there as long as you like.

First off, this forum has been a huge help and appreciate all the previous reports. Been visiting Jakarta quite often, recently, but as a newbie in this city, I've not had much experience mongering. Was planning to hit up the usual spots based on the reports here, and finally got out and visited Malio / Malioboro last night.
I first walked down to Malio Lounge, as I wasn't too sure which building was which. Got my wristband and walked in. The place was quite busy at 10:30 PM, but as was reported, all the dancers were clothed. The DJ was OK, and the music was decent. The second floor has comfortable sofas all around and a balcony looking down on the stage and dancing girls. The third floor has the rooms, and I realized that the fourth floor connects with Malioboro.
Took my drink and walked over, and then down a floor, following the music, into Maliboro. On one side is a larger (cafeteria like) area with tables, chairs and a small stage where four girls dance at a time. There's also a lower area with large sofas, where a couple dozen girls seemed half sleepy and bored at 11 PM. I am not sure you will get the visual cues you are hoping for. Most of the fish bowls the girls can see who is prospecting them with the exception of Star Moon bar at Kota Indah which has one way glass. But this place is quite downmarket.
My suggestion would be to stay at hotel Mulia or Shangri La for a night and try for a lady in the club there. You may need to engage them first as they will be quite respectful if you are there as a couple. The major difference with these two locations is your prospective partner is there a little bit more by choice than the other locations and she will most likely have reasonable english.

This is my first time to Jakarta. I am presently in Pattaya and planning to go to Angeles City when I found a $95 all in Air Asia flight from Bkk-Jakarta. I figured WTF-- why not see what Jakarta is all about. I plan on 3 nights at Ro&Vi Boutique Hotel and then take a SCOOT flight from Jakarta directly into Clark (Angeles) with only a 2 hour layover in Singaport. That one-way only cost $150 so thiis side trip to Jakarta will cost about the same as flying directly from BKK to MNL and I will not have to screw around with Manila (going directly to Clark).
I originally wanted to book at Grand Mercure Harmoni (based on friend's recommendation), but all rooms were booked for my arrival date as was the Mercure Jakarata Kota. I found the Ro&Vi Boutique Hotel listed on booking.com at a very cheap price and decided to grab it solely on the basis of its location just up the street from the Grand Mercure Harmoni. I am curious why I have not seen anything posted about this hotel here. I figured if it turns out to be a shit-hole I can move out and check into something else. (the grand Mercure Harmoni did have rooms Friday and Saturday).
I experienced Bataan for the first time last June. I had a good time and I did meet a few sweeties, but IMHO the overall scene did not impress me when compared to AC, But it was certainly better than the Singapore options. OS.You could have a look in Bandung. There is an active brothel scene there. It's also a University town which means there are lots of girls from other villages. Based on my limited understanding of Indonesian, as well as some rough software translations of the two articles, it seems the three or four officers who visited the Classic building made a point of concentrating their efforts on those locales within the building where no or very little was taking place, such as the closed-down karaoke rooms. So while it is still possible there is going to be a continuing clampdown, it may also be that the new administration after having closed down Alexis, is now going through additional motions to show they are concerned about the "prostitution problem," even if that means investigating the various locales and concluding they are not places of prostitution. These efforts may be more about playing to Anies's base of conservative Muslims, than anything Anies is really concerned about. If the former, these may be "show visits" to feign concern about places of prostitution but designed to conclude many of the locales do not have prostitutes. And even if this is not what Anies wants, corrupt lower level police might want to publicly reach this conclusion to protect their revenue streams notwithstanding that doing so is becoming more dangerous. In any event it is difficult to really know what was behind the Classic visits (hardly raids} if the media reports are accurate, which they may or may not be.
Only time will tell whether Alexis will turn out to be a one-off, with the rest of the brothels only subject to show visits to feign concern about the possibility of prostitution. But then officials may conclude (wink, wink) it doesn't exist at these places, thereby allowing business, including the payoffs to keep the places open, to proceed as usual.

" Harris Vertu was recommended by Smoothy- thank you so much. Harris Vertu is probably the best "value" I ever had for a quality 4-5 star hotel. ($67/ night Agoda).
Hotel Malio / Malioboro is almost directly across the street. The hotel lobby is on the 5th floor of modern shopping / hotel complex.
Airport exhchange 13,300/ usd. Schwab ATM rate was 13,000. (100,000 rupiah =$75) Took Silver Bird luxury taxi / sedan from airport, 3 pm arrival -- 1. 5 hours to Harris Vertu. Cost about 200,000. I know bluebird taxi would have been cheaper, but a friend suggested Silver bird. It was a nice, comfortable ride in heavy traffic-I splurged a little.
After quick shit, shower and shave walked across street to Malio Hotel 5 pm. The Malioboro club did not open until 8 pm, but the two lounges upstairs were open. One lounge had a selection 25 masseuses (430,000). The other lounge with food and dance stage the girls were asking 1,100,000. I picked a 19 yr no baby from the cheap gallery and spent an hour in their very nice rooms. Total damage ended up being 1,000,000.

"The Short Answer" Jakarta is fun, but for quality it is not cheap. I am very familiar with Thailand, Philippines and Colombia. I really do not know if I can justify making a trip there specifically to monger. Great reports TroyBoy. I like your adventurous can-do spirit willing to check out different establishments of varying quality, staying focused on what you want, and having a great time. Taking a girl out of Hotel Travel is one example of what I am talking about. Having a look see in Berlin, Sariayu and Royal is another.

As to whether you will return to Jakarta or ever make it your primary destination on some future trip; I think it is too early to make that decision. Give it time. It's too bad about Alexis. That was the other super high-end joint in Jakarta with an amazing selection of young, sexy Indo girls. I really liked that place cause of the girls. Fortunately, there are a few substitute replacement places owned by the Alexis group that include Emporium & Tease Club, and Colosseum & 1001. I will be checking out both of these alternatives when I return to CGK.
And in addition, I recommend King's Cross, owned by the Malioboro group, as another interesting brothel that is well stocked with Indo girls and is positioned in between Malioboro and Hotel Classic in terms of price and quality. The bottom line is there is a lot to see and do in Jakarta. I haven't been to all the good places yet, that's for sure.

Overall I was extremely happy with performance (both hers and mine LOL). I now had no chee / mojo, but I decided to head down to the Malioboro club which just opened at 8 pm. WOW== I have not seen so many stunners with huge racks in such a concentrated place in a long time. There were 4-5 who were absolutely gorgeous. It was fun, the girls were very pretty and all-in-all it was really cheap. However, the service was least impressive of all the places I've mongered at. The girls were (in general) polite and respectful (with one exception) albeit a bit distant. No kissing, covered BJ, and a general lack of oral contact. There were none I would repeat with. The girls in the DR were a bit more active in bed, willing to get nasty, but also quick to ask for a "propina". Cheap fun, but I always felt a higher degree of uncertainty in the DR.
Thailand offers many great options, modest to cheap ST, reasonable safety for the visitor and good service from the girls. But, at the end of the day it comes down to personal taste. I had some great experiences in Berlin. But at this point plain vanilla white girls don't do it for me. I've got yellow fever and Asia is a really big place with a lot of girls.
