However, I noticed that the fare was consistently higher when ordering a Grab car vs using a taxi. With the exception of the airport, my trips were up and down Sudirman, Thamrin, and Gajah Mada. My fares with taxis rarely broke the 20 k mark. The meter seemed to linger at the flag of 6500 for a very long time. With Grab, the fare was always about 20 k, and sometimes as high as 50 k.I remember back during the time when grab was still in its infancy, I had to rely a lot on taxis. However flagging down taxis then can sometimes be a pain, and I was always forced to take silver bird if I am to get a taxi from hotels like Hotel Mulia and Mandarin Oriental. Fares are prohibitively expensive. I remembered one time I took a silver bird from Mandarin Oriental to Gajah Mada, and given the traffic jam and road closure, I had to literally step off the silver bird after the fare was about to hit 300 K. And the funny part was that Mandarin Oriental was just right across the street. In essence, I have just paid 300 K to get myself across the street from the hotel itself. From then on, never again with silver bird for me.

Grab can in fact be more expensive at times and especially times when they have spike pricing. I had to pay this spiked price due to heavy demand or lack of cars last Monday morning from Sudirman to Pluit area. It started off at 125 K and I thought it was too pricey then and decided to wait to see if the demand would come down. 15 minutes later, the price has jumped to 150 K. I was forced to take it since I had a meeting with someone in that area then. Without spike pricing, the cost is typically only 60 K at most, so you get the idea.

Nonetheless, I do like the ease of use of Grab and the certainty in both price and availability.

I read the forum, hear all these great things about CJs, get there and it's old women that have dolled themselves up. Average age of the hookers must have been in the 30's. Not to mention 200 k for a beer. Just a hotel hooker bar tourist trap.Yep, absolutely. This is the same for most hotel bars of the kind across Asia, including the even more expensive BRIX in Singapore. Even though it's rare I go up north anymore, I will say that I did visit up north and went to kota indah just the other day for the first time in quite a while. For some reason nobody had mentioned it here, but I had heard they renovated the upstairs rooms in LA about four months ago, so I wanted to have a look. LA has always been my favorite place in that area because they have a room they call the "super private" room which is about 4 times the size of a normal room and only costs 80 k more. Given this disappointing news, I was tempted to walk out, but I figured I would give it a shot so I could check out the "newly renovated" rooms. Hell, the rooms at Hotel Classic are pretty damn nice, so maybe they renovated to that standard. I never understood why anyone would want a crap room at kota indah when they can get the same quality of girls (or nicer) at Hotel Classic which has way nicer rooms for the same price. So I was hopeful they had finally decided to compete with the nice venues like Hotel Classic and provide some nice rooms. Hell, they proved already they could do that when they built the super private room (which was better than the rooms at Classic). We went upstairs and they showed me into the new room. Much to my dismay, it was a tiny room with no mirrors on the walls. Small bed with just enough space between the bed and the shower to stand to take your clothes off. And although it is "newly renovated", it was obviously done on the cheap so the room was not nice, just plain. They did put a picture of a side view of a naked white woman on the wall above the bed though for decoration. The only thing I noticed to be renovated over the old cheapest rooms they had (that hadn't been renovated in over 20 years) is that the tiny shower was re-tiled, they painted the room with new low quality paint, and the bed had a new mattress (still a cheap one, but new). Sad thing was the shower was already dirty though since they obviously don't clean the rooms well. The room had no TV, no stereo, and you could not hear the music from downstairs. I don't like the room to be that quiet, so I played music on my phone. A far cry from the great stereo they had in the super private room, but at least it was something. It was also one of those ridiculous rooms where you have to hang your clothes above the little window on the door so that nobody can look in.

So getting back to the girl in the room, the girl and I entered the room and took off our clothes. We showered together and the girl had a perfectly toned body and was very pleasant. She was about as smart as a box of rocks and couldn't hold much of a conversation (I speak Indonesian), but that's not really what that place is about anyway. I was at CJ last Saturday night hoping to pick up a FL so that I can bring her to another club. I started out at around 9:30 pm. I know that it was way too early to do anything yet since the majority of the girls won't be there at least until after 11 pm. But I have nothing better to do at that moment. I've lived in Jakarta around 20 years and am fairly certain that I know more places to go in Jakarta than most people in this world. Of any place in town you may have visited that was even decent, I have likely been there more times than you have, but I still love CJs and BATS. To call CJs and BATS "crap" is ridiculous. They are my two favorite places in the entire city to enjoy a night out with good music, a fun atmosphere, a semi GFE experience with a girl dancing talking and joking around, then take a girl home. I would hazard to guess when you were last in Macau. It must have been a while ago and boy have things changed! 1st prices have gone thru the roof. 2nd there is no brothel in the Holiday Inn anymore. And 3rd when I was last there in November the Holiday Inn was undergoing a total restoration inside and out. Except for their casino the hotel looked closed. 4th there are still Pinay SW's that hang out on the walking street behind the Holiday Inn directly in back of the Landmark Hotel. You are also watching a high quality 10 member full piece international band play live for the night. I like live bands. Unfortunately, there are not as many good ones in Jakarta these days as there were years ago. In the late 90's, there were some good bands at the Green Pub, also the classic rock band at Aryaduta who mainly played deep purple was great, as was the Asia Reform band at Hard Rock sarinah (best cover band I have seen in Jakarta), and that black dude at BATS who did his James Brown impression wearing a suit and jumping way up in the air then landing doing the splits and dancing around. Soundphoria (with that Filipina chick named Jessica) at Ritz Carlton was really good too in the late 2000's till around 2012. The current CJs band has a few people in it who are pretty good like Fabio and his wife Jenny, but they haven't had a great talent there since Jessica left. She was awesome. The indo band they have there on either Sunday or Monday night has an older girl in the band who sings a great version of Making Love Out of Nothing at All. I was impressed. The old grandma looking chick at Jaya Pub still belts out a great version of New York New York. I do like the energy of the current band at BATS, but they aren't anything special musically. That exact same band at BATS had 2 hot blondes in the band last year but has downgraded to 2 very mediocre looking girls now, and I never really liked that Indian dude they have as a male singer.

There used to be such a lounge a few years back called Top Cat if not mistaken, but I think it has gone out of business. I noticed many such lounges go out of business, maybe due to high operating costs.

I am kind of tired of seeing same band playing at CJ, and they have been there for years now. I kept seeing that same white male singer on stage three years in a row, though lately I noticed that he has been relegated as backup singer, plus he had lost weight. Maybe all these nights of performing takes a toll. Nonetheless, with the exception of one Asian lady singer up there who can pitch the high note, the rest were more often than not out of tune.

If I want to listen to classic rock played too loud I can do that in the comfort of my car for free. I go to a bar to have a drink and a chat with my mates or if I go alone to meet someone, which again involves chatting. But how can you have any sort of conversation when you can't make yourself heard over a badly executed rendition of "Honky Tonk Woman" played through an amplification system whose volume is at Yankee Stadium setting?

I would be very interested to know too, especially those that play live jazz music. There used to be such a lounge a few years back called Top Cat if not mistaken, but I think it has gone out of business. I noticed many such lounges go out of business, maybe due to high operating costs.

I mean what is the point? They are invariably far too loud and given the acoustics of every bar or club anywhere, the quality of the music, even if the band was as good as the original artists (and needless to say they aren't), will be worse than anything you could listen to on your on iPod. Or for that matter if the music was simply streamed at a reasonable volume through the bar's own sound system off YouTube.

If I want to listen to classic rock played too loud I can do that in the comfort of my car for free. I go to a bar to have a drink and a chat with my mates or if I go alone to meet someone, which again involves chatting. But how can you have any sort of conversation when you can't make yourself heard over a badly executed rendition of "Honky Tonk Woman" played through an amplification system whose volume is at Yankee Stadium setting?

Couldn't agree more on the volume thing. Theres nothing more annoying than trying to have a conversation. Yep some of us actually grew up in an era where you actually talked to each other when you went out and some moron has cranked the volume up on a third rate band and you are the only people in the place.

One of the ubiquitous sounds of Indonesia is ' Azan", the call to prayer. Properly done it can be hauntingly beautiful but too often it gets belted out through a $10 "corong" at 120 watts of amplification and just dumbs down to nothing the whole experience. You may as well just set an alarm clock to remember to pray.

The same with those bands. It's just the dumbing down of things to a formula to meet the risk averse needs of Mr Average. It's why chefs all want to cook with salmon and we all want our kids to be doctors and lawyers. It's low risk. Same for why 90 % of the reports here are about the same four venues of Classic, Malioboro, CJ's or Blok M. Everybody is assured of getting 60% of what they wanted 60% of the time and they're happy to pay for it. OS is like HL77. Just wants to throw a fucking brick at them.

YY Bar in Grogol can sometimes have some interesting dangdut. It's a seedy, smoky dive of a bar one alley over from New Medika. If the singer still has the microphone it can be enjoyable but too often some drunk local ends up on the podium. But then there's girls, lots of them, young, half of them hostile to bules. 250 thousand will get you fun times upstairs if you can convince the mama, who is a real biitch to bring you the girl you want.

But it sure beats eyeing up some overpriced old boiler at CJ's while listening to all those 70's covers.

The trick in Tanjung Priok is to keep moving so the mosquito's don't take advantage of you. Just now is Dengue season and Priok is a hotspot, that said, so is the area up around Kota Indah and some of those rooms can be just a buzzing. MTR bar in particular. They seem to like the mixture of pisss and shower water.

OS drove past those Priok bars on Saturday night and there's lots of bars and lots of girls. It would make a spectacular pub crawl for a couple of good buddies and don't worry about the locals. They all say the bad guys are in Sumatra.

And if you get cold feet, The relative safety of Kelapa Gading and Kings Cross is just 10 minutes away.

Of course you're more vulnerable than going to BATS or Classic, but felt safe enough. They have Indomarets, food carts, ojeks everywhere. I probably wouldn't travel to an area like Tanjung Priok in the Philippines.

I agree with Jkt Jon's assessment and would add that obviously CJ's is not for everybody. I recommend going on Friday or Saturday night after 11 pm. Have the mandatory drink minimum (I like a quality Vodka on the rocks or a straight Scotch), check around for a girl or girls to your liking, listen to the music, and stay for an hour or so. If you don't see any one that is to your taste, move on. No big deal. BTW, while the age of CJ's FL's is skewed towards the 26 to 30-year range, there ARE younger girls to be found there. My last CJ's girl, for example, was a 20 year-old cutie pie and she told me she was currently enrolled in Uni and that is why she showed up that night with her girlfriend - she needed money for her classes. LOL. I take it all with a grain of sand, but she WAS young, cute, and sexy. I had a fun night with her and there was no need to buy her a drink. Got into town on Saturday by 6 pm in the evening and checked in at Novotel Gajah Mada. Met a local friend for a few drinks and then headed to Classic. Found a very pretty 22 yo from Bandung named Aulia. Got my rocks off with her after a good session. By 11.30 pm we headed to CJ's. The place was packed, so we stood at the bar with our drink when a waiter recognised me and started chatting. Slipped him 10 K to find a table and that worked like magic. Got us a place right at the center communal table.

Usually your Tinder / Badoo account will blow up with matches and you will have a hard time choosing. If you are there on ground for a longer time (say over 2 weeks or more) then you should be able to get almost all your lays through dating apps.

If course one has to be fit, clean, generous and able to hold a conversation. If you can speak Bahasa then you have an advantage. Also, unlike Thailand and the Philippines I do not see young girls hanging out freely with old bald fat men. It's a rather conservative society on the surface.

Is it just me, or is it starting to become that little bit harder to buy our little blue or yellow vitamins from the upmarket pharmacies. Lately I've been knocked back a couple of times in Guardian Pharmacies. Thanks goodness for Kimia Farma, doubt they would knock you back for anything. Had a couple of nights in the Doubletree and there's a nice little Kimia Farma just down the road was happy to supply me with some tablets. 4 x 20 MG tablets for 875 k IDR. I transited Bali on the way here and was knocked back at the pharmacy in the airport. May be not the best place to try, but the thrid time I have been knocked back in a Guardian. All Bali, so maybe they're just deciding to follow the rules there.

Pedro.You can try both I prefer cialis. I have high blood pressure too V will definitely drop it and adding alcohol and or blood pressure medication will too. So be careful and start with minimal doses. P.S. The first time I took Viagra 50 MG I thought I was going to die my heart rate went nuts but it quickly calmed down and that side effect got much better wish I could say same for BP meds which do not agree with me at all.

Pedro.I have to agree with the other comments on here. I wouldn't go blindly popping the pills if you are on blood pressure medication. I did that once. Thought my heart was going to pop out of my chest and hardly slept that night. Your basically double dipping on meds that dilate your blood vessels. Am a hell of a lot fitter now, off the blood pressure meds and tend to pop a bit of Cialis for longer term fun I hate V as it gives me a heaache now and again and doesn't appear to last as long.

The room was only $100 usd a night and they bumped me up to the JW Marriott Suite which was huge (around 150 square meters). It was perfect for entertaining 2 girls. If you have at least gold standing at the JW Marriott, I recommend that. I stayed there recently and it was great. The room was only $100 usd a night and they bumped me up to the JW Marriott Suite which was huge (around 150 square meters). It was perfect for entertaining 2 girls. Park Lane hotel used to pay the girls to hang out in their bar area. Park Lane used to have that commercial on TV where the guy was promoting both the steak dinner and the girls, he said in the commercial "come for the beef", then he put his arm around a hooker and said "then stay for the chicken". 200 k is poor value for a beer. It's not about it being outside of my budget. Same reason I refuse to drink wine in Indonesia. Places charge 1,000,000 IDR or more to drink a bottle of garbage wine.

I just feel stupid, like someone has taken advantage of me when I pay 200 k for a beer or if I paid 1,000,000 plus for a cheap bottle of wine. A taxi won't turn on the meter I get out rather than pay the inflated fixed amount.

Same principle as paying 1 m IDR for a 35 year old single mother at CJs when I can get a cute 20 year at Classic for 365 k.

There have been some bars that do have incentives for the girls to show up. Park Lane hotel used to pay the girls to hang out in their bar area. The girls would still go home with any guy who asked them, but the hotel wanted to guarantee they had girls so they paid them just to show up regardless. It's a good idea because otherwise they wouldn't have had any girls at all there. Park Lane used to have that commercial on TV where the guy was promoting both the steak dinner and the girls, he said in the commercial "come for the beef", then he put his arm around a hooker and said "then stay for the chicken". Hi all,

This was due but did int find much time about my trip of 5 days in Jakarta.

My usual routine of star moon classic and travel.

Girls 11.

Fails were 2 (dead fishes literally).

3 of them 1 from each location mentioned above were like 7 of 10 scale (All were SYT).

Hotel red planet all 5 days I don't bring many girls in except for one occasion some semi pro.

Mode of transport- Only Go-Jek.

Airport to hotel and back were all GRAB Taxi.

Took massage every day with therapist from Go massage (only massage many wer particular and came with hijab and were very particular that it was only Massage. After my innings in the bordellos I was tired most of the time to think of any thing else, Hence didint push).

Rate of 60 k per 90 min I guess some where there (Quality of the massage was a hit / Miss).

Took some food deliveries through Gojek again during afternoons to avoid the sun.

2 movies in indo mall (Instant family and some other name not sure).

Vitamins pinches from kimia pharmacy just for assurance.

My favourite Places of visits are all in my saved list in Maps. (Hope no one finds them other than me all used for Gojek).

Total Budget was below 1500 USD for 5 days all inclusive. That's almost like 75 - 80 k rupees not sure of the exchange to rupees.

My big thanks to Airasia took some offer and tickets cost me just 300 $ or something I guess.

Uncle-V.Overall, it's not as fun as the rest of the year. The day before Ramadan and the first day of Ramadan, along with the days at the very end of Ramadan just before, during, and after Idul Fitri are basically worthless days for having any fun. Personally, I think the very worst day is one day before Ramadan because absolutely everything will be closed and since it's the first day like that, it's always a bit shocking.

However, there are also some possible advantages in the middle of Ramadan. The best thing about Ramadan is that there are less guys, thus there is less competition. So the girls get a bit desperate and will drop their amount desired for taxi money in places like CJs and BATS. If you have "regulars" from CJs or BATS or other free lancers, you will likely get more texts than normal from those girls wanting to visit you and they will accept less taxi money than normal. That's because they know less guys are in town and don't want to waste their time going to CJs and BATS when there are so few customers. The worst thing about Ramadan is that some days the places for entertainment are closed (as mentioned, at the very start and very end of Ramadan) and the smaller places like kota indah close completely for the entire month. (Bigger places like Hotel Classic and Malioboro will be open most days in the middle of Ramadan.) Some girls do go home to their village for Ramadan, but most don't go home until a few days before Idul Fitri and they return a few days after Idul Ftiri. Jakarta will not be back to normal until a full week after Ramadan.

Carry your passport and risk loss or theft (a major hassle if you are traveling soon or in a city without a consulate or embassy) or carry a copy and risk a shakedown from the police. I had Office Depot (in MDE) make a very official looking color, shrunk and laminated copy of my passport ID page (with signature page on the back side). It looks very official and has got me through two police ID checks so far (one in MDE and one in the PI). I'm pretty sure a paper copy would have lead to an issue. Also suggest making a paper copy of the Visa page to carry as well to prove you are legally in the country. They asked for that in MDE.

That depends on where you stay. If you stay at the New Priok Indah Hotel, it's not a long way from that hotel. That hotel is only about 150 k a night. So that would only be 300 k for the hotel and girl inclusive in that area. If you spend the entire week there, it sounds like you will only spend about 200 usd for the entire week all inclusive for room, girls, eat and drink (depending on what you eat and drink). It's mentioned over and over and over in that thread that almost all hotels in Jakarta are girl friendly. For sure every 5 star hotel in Jakarta is girl friendly. Other than a "Syariah" hotel, absolutely no hotel in Jakarta is not girl friendly. If the hotel was called "Grand Hyatt Syariah", then I'd worry. I just returned from Jakarta a couple weeks ago. I had a few days there before heading off to Sumatra. This is my experience. First, a disclaimer: this report is for the regular travelers that like to save a buck. If you're an old, rich, whitey expat, or a businessman that likes to put his mongering on the companies tab, you'll probably want to blow your money on the bigger clubs.

I stayed in the north in Mangga Dua, about a forty minute taxi ride from the airport. My hotel was Hotel 55. For only $30 a night, it has everything you need. This was a fantastic location. It's less than a five minute walk to Kota Indah, literally. Plus, I didn't see another white face my entire time. That means the locals will love you. I hung out on the street talking to everybody. People would just come up and start a conversation. They'll want to eat some street food with you, and are all very friendly, you'll feel like a celebrity, I certainly did.

Each night, I walked the very short distance to Kota Indah, and went twice to Starmoon, and once to the bar right across the street from it. Beers are a couple bucks each, if you want to drink, but you don't have to. The waitress will immediately ask you if you want a girl. Just tell her what you're looking for, and she'll bring the girl right out to you. All three of my girls were very high quality. Their ages were: 18, 19 and 21. All were short and had tiny frames (90-95 lbs) with no less than a the-cup chest (one a double the and all natural). The cost is 350 K are, and I tipped 100 K are. For the hour.

There was no asking if they did anything questionable, they did it all, starting off with a BBBJ, and CIM was not an issue. They let me take photos as well. It's very straightforward, cheap, with great quality girls. The girl, room, and tip will only set you back about $30. And, when you're done, go grab some street food, and sleep peacefully in your hotel.

The mamis at Classic can be a bit annoying, and you have to firmly tell them that you want to relax, sip a beer and scout the talent before making any choices. Even if they know you by face, they will not let up.

Cheers. G.I was very happy with the performance. I had all girls in multiple positions, one really knew how to ride. One was even over enthusiastic with me, kept smiling and constantly had roaming hands. This is just my personal experience. I'm a younger guy that lifts regularly, and they really liked my body, so I don't know if that played a role. If I had to put on a scale from 1-10 their performance and enthusiasm (at least the girls I was with), I'd say 7 or 8.

Add that to the fact that you'll probably be the only white face walking around. People will be very friendly, and you'll have that exotic factor with the girls, much better than those expat clubs. You'll have to speak at least basic Indonesian, though.

I know Classic was mentioned, but it's not in walking distance, AND you have tons of options in KI with multiple bars. These were petite, busty girls that loved a white face, with a hotel basically across the street. For quality, price, and location, you can't beat this combo. That's my advice and experience, take it as you will.

That's an old picture, and that girl is now at Hotel Classic. I think she was only at New Sari Ayu a few months. She was at Malioboro previous to New Sari Ayu. OS.There is a metric shit tonne of girls and handlers on Twitter in Jakarta. Some knowledge of Bahasa esp abbreviations is required but it's easy to hop from one hashtag to another and get the hang of it. Many girls will have very limited English.

Generally the hashtag is a combination of service then location. Try bispak (ready to use), bo (open for booking), nopd (no deposit), bisyar (prostitute) then Jakarta, jktsel (south Jakarta), jktpus (city center) etc depending on where you are / want to meet eg #bispakjktsel.

I have had mixed bag of experiences on Twtr. There are fakes aplenty who would ask for deposit in advance, and I have lost a fair share of money in that bargain. Difficult to ascertain who is fake and who is not as typical follower size would be 3 k-4 k even for the fakes. There are some good ones too. There is a handle that uploads reports of working girls. Just got back from "the pool" at 1001/ colosseum, my new favourite place in Jakarta.

We got a private room, which is more like your own private area and not exactly a room, it has 2 jacuzzi's, 2 cabanas to relax and drink, a single private hotelroom and some lockers.

Upon arrival you change into swimming shorts and a kimono, after which you can choose to have a line-up while chilling in the jacuzzi or go to the main pool area. After picking the girls they change into bikinis and they join you drinking / in the jacuzzi. If you take the private room its 2 hours in the jacuzzis / cabanas and one hour of fucking, price is 2. 6 jt all in per girl, a minimum of 8 girls must be taken for the private room, there is no minimum charge for anything else like in the KTV.

Depending on your friends it can get wild pretty fast. Once we had sorted the girls and alcohol bikini tops came off and a lot of groping and kissing was done in the jacuzzi / cabana areas. Although you have the option to go to the one hotelroom in your private area or another one one floor up if the private one is being used (direct access from the pool) our girls didn't even bother with rooms and started blowing us on the edge of the jacuzzi, moving into the cabanas for a pretty much full blown orgy. Spent a few days in Jakarta and a couple in Tangerang early this month, a report on my experience.

I use Weechat, every day was contacted by 10- 15 hookers, ended up driving me mad, as all use the same line so stopped responding.

Met a couple as well as one that I paid to come from Bandung, well worth doing for the right girl, I had met her in Bali before so knew what I was in for.

Went to Classic one day not being a night person, but it was opening late because of some holiday, so never got to try it.

Paid 270.000 on entry for 1 hour FS. To my absolute surprise no more was requested and the lady didn't ask for a tip. Feeling embarrassed at that I called her down stairs and tipped her 150, still a great price for the session, I will be returning on my next visit.

I had one cancel on my last night so feeling like a massage I booked a Gojek massage for 90 minutes at 110.000 rup. Up turns a 50+ Muslim lady with hijab and glasses. Half way through I ask here to massage the ass, ball region to which she obliged.

On the turn over I point to the obvious she says you want, I shake my head in approval and she proceeds, convinced she has done so before as the skill were excellent.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised, this is the first time I have used Gojek, but when one thinks they get a paltry 110.000 for 90 minutes, no surprise they would be tempted to offer more, as I tipped her 200, which to her was the equivalent to 2 more jobs (1 hour is 90.000).

Good experience, I will be back in 6-7 weeks, but need say I do prefer Bali still, maybe as I have built up good relationships with a number of ladies that make it easy and hassle free to arrange.
