IMHO, tinder and Indonesian cupid could be better sources. I am also looking for a trip early June, a week after Ramadan. Indonesia is suspected by many countries for low number of corona cases they have reported. There was'nt much talk until the Singaporean tourist got infected after Indonesia visit. The numbers have been in low in tropics in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, in the 100's while the cases in Europe and states are starting to get over 1000's. My only worry is a late surge in corona cases or cancellation of visa for visitors. Still waiting to book tickets. With the info I read in other forum online recently, prices in CJ's and BATS have been around 1.5 M to 3 M. There have reports of downward prices in Manila though which I consider as alternative.

I booked 6 days at Shangri-La in January and "lucked out" at $92 a day plus tax.
My stay is May 12 to 18.
I emailed the hotel today to see if I could get a refund; or at least rebook at a later date due to the Cornavirus. I received confirmation today that they will allow either a refund or rebooking; which is good news and leaves me with options.

It makes learning a language a bit like a game. Quite pedagogical, ok algorithms and lots of repetition. Starts real easy, then gets more difficult, and you can choose your own pace. I find it is quite effective. I mostly do while commuting to work. It's a freemium setup, so you can use it as much as you like entirely for free with a few limitations and then see whether you want to get rid of those limitations later on.

I have to wait for them to extend that to May 5th or beyond. Time will tell.

I knew a guy a couple of years ago who said he struggled on Tinder to find girls during Ramadan. AGREED. But Cathay Pacific's travel deadline for a refund or rebooking currently ends on April 30th. I have to wait for them to extend that to May 5th or beyond. Time will tell.

Kitchens too, up to a point to provide basic food. The Chinese government used vast sports halls but the clubs would be much better. Saturday NOV 9.
My Saturday dinner date was Clara, a referral from King Crimson. We had a nice dinner in the hotel and then adjourned to the room. She was sweet and the sex was normal but nothing that really rings my bell now 4 months later.

Tuesday November 12.
My trip was nearing its close. My notes are very sketchy as I guess I was wearing down. I moved from Shangri-La to Hotel Mulia for my last 3 days though I hardly took advantage of CJ'S.
Tuesday night I decided to go take a look at Malio / Malioboro as I had never been there. I arrived around 8 PM. No matter how may reviews I read here on the forum this place is just plain old confusing. I went in the front door but was directed to walk in the alley on the left side of the building for the entrance. As soon as I hit the bar and came to a stop, I was swarmed by about 5 or 6 girls. When I saw my travel buddy, Jeff, on Wednesday afternoon, I told him about Malio and that we HAVE to go there on our last night just to see it. When Jeff travels abroad, it's usually to "wife-up" with one or two girls. He doesn't do the bar or brothel scene. I thought he would enjoy it.

The "black market" is shitty too. Most girls are scared to go with any guys due to corona, so the market is total crap. Tinder is dead. Its a pretty fair assessment of the situation.
Highlight of my week is going too EP for a takeaway curry and a few bintangs whilst waiting for it. Although I have discovered 2 bars open, and a few restaurants where you can sit upstairs or out the back and enjoy your 'take-away' meal there. I guess they are paying someone big dollars to remain open.
The WA contacts are all active asking for a little money, I even have my GoClean lady asking for money transfers against future cleaning services. She is kinda cute and if they bill racks up too high I might just have to sacrifice a clean abode for some action, bonus is she can make the bed afterwards.

Police don't seem too be harassing anyone, they have their checkpoints setup, but if you have a mask on then they let you go. They are still on full salaries, so they are pretty content as the city is so empty and easy for them to manage.

Legendary!Back in the days when the Hard Rock Cafe was, like its counterparts in KL, Bali and elsewhere, a very handy late-night pick-up joint and not the bland, family-friendly, mall restaurant it is today.
Chilies has also gone downhill, not as a pick-up joint, I don't think it was ever that but in terms of quality. It used to be a great spot for drinks, ice-cold mugs of beer or margaritas, and a steak but it had a redecoration a couple of years back and somehow lost a lot of its charm. The last time I was in there it was positively grotty, closing at 11 pm, there were no other customers and the tables were sticky and dirty.
I don't think Sarinah as a whole can survive much longer, more modern malls can expect to go to the wall as a result of this pandemic, I really can't see how an old 1960's style department store can possibly stay in business.
JJs and Tanamour are but distant memories, Today Country has long gone (probably just as well mind you, given its, er, proclivities), the 6th Floor of Melawai closed and Falatehan faded well past its glory days, no more Hard Rock and McD's in Sarinah. Of my earliest memories of Jakarta, with the exception of CJs and BATS (Tiga Puluh died a decade or more ago) only Jaksa remains largely as it was. Wait, is Jaya Pub still open? Do bules still go there?

Mostly locals now (not naughty girls anymore), and some bules, but the bules who go are usually there with their bule wives. I still go on occasion to listen to the music. At least prior to this stupid coronavirus shit.

I think he was still selling McDonalds food but calling it Captain whatever. I liked his pirate theme. Pretty cool. He did add a few things to the menu as well. It's amazing how they can get away with copyright infringement in Indonesia. Kind of like when Subway sub shops closed in Jakarta and they renamed it to Mamas subs or something like that, but still served the subs almost exactly the same, even wrapped in Subway wrapping paper. Haha.
I met more than one girl at that Sarinah McDonalds after late nights out at Tanamur / JJs / Hard Rock. My ex girlfriend told me the story of when that McDonalds first opened, her family made a special trip from the kampung to Jakarta just to go to that McDonalds. It seems that was a popular thing to do. That, and to try the escalators in Sarinah since those were the first ever built in Indonesia.

I happened to be working in Jakarta during August / September 1992 when this particular McDonald's opened and stopped by during its first week, it was spotlessly clean and orderly even though there was a line outside the door. I remember chuckling because most Indonesian food is far superior (and healthier) than McDonald's food. Also remember going to a few birthday parties with my then-3 year old back in 2006.

However, my only doubt is what do they mean by a "Health Certificate"? Does that mean that one has to take proof that they (passenger / traveler) passed a covid exam (negative result) X amount of time before the trip? Or does that mean you need a document or letter from your doctor as well?

Here it is friends.What this chart does not mention, but is quite clearly mentioned by all embassies, is that the only foreigners allowed to enter are those with a work permit or living permanently in Indonesia. Other exemptions are embassy personnel. Visiting for recreational purposes is still not allowed.

If I'm correct Highway to Elle later took up the original location of the. My Bar was quite busy, with many girls available, until some years ago, but later you could come there around 10 in the evening and you would be the only one there. Sad.

In the physical sense it's unlikely, since Sarina was one of the first buildings with a pile foundation and doesn't subside. The surrounding pavement did not have a similar foundation, so over the last years a large height difference has developed between Sarina and the parking area. In the words of another member "you need a stepladder to get from the pavement to the first step of the stairs at the entrance".

In case you weren't aware, Jakarta is the fastest sinking city in the world and expected to be underwater by 2050. Works out perfectly with the 30 year contract!
Bangkok is the other scary SEA city to invest in as it will be sitting below sea level by 2030!This is true mostly to the north of Monas. Further south the settlement is much less. Go to Sarinah and you can get a good impression of the settlement there; Sarina has a pile foundation and does not settle. The surrounding pavement does.

Health Certificate. Hmmm. Anyone have more information about that? Would be much appreciated.It is the present status of entry to the country. It is not comfortable to travel following this as a monger. I travel to Indo only after easing the entry. It will take few more months. I am waiting for it.

I think for all the people who are asking, you may have the chance to travel to Jakarta and be allowed into Indonesia if you are a healthy person and can prove it, but I wouldn't do it based on the 2 reasons why:
1) depending on who is and isn't on duty for quarantine on the day, certain officers may clear you and others wouldn't depending on how much they like your paperwork. Indonesia has been real finnicky based on what is lawful and unlawful and most criteria with laws is never really set in stone. I would hate to pay good money to get on flights just to be turned around at the border. Or, to get there and they slap a 14 day quarantine on you like most countries do.
2) good luck getting flights! Getting international flights at the moment is notoriously hard, plus also expensive. International flights at the moment are for people trying to return home, not go on holiday- and I know plenty of people who have overseas businesses and they're completely screwed, half have gone under because of it.
Honestly the idea of travelling here solely to pursue the hobby is absolutely daft. Unless you have definite leads set up and it's all assured there is no point. Even then you will pretty much be confined to your hotel as nothing else is open, that's if, as has been pointed out below, you even get into the country in the first place.
Give it a miss guys, write this place off for the next three months at least. Save your money at home watching p0 rn and check back in around September some time.

America is gaining covid19 cases by 40 k per day, pretty much all other countries are starting to ramp up and increase in cases. The death rate is sort of at the same number each day, its just shifting numbers to different countries each month where its starting to significantly infect.
You must understand that flights don't take off either unless the intention is that there will be enough ticket sales to completely fill that plane or overbook it IE; sell more than what the plane can hold. One of the key problems is, not only does every country want to stem the spread of the virus, but people don't have the confidence to travel. That lack of confidence would result in poor ticket sales leading to the flights to be eventually cancelled anyways. I've said in a previous thread, even if you were able to get a flight over, which you won't, many hotels aren't operating right now and most tourist locations, even the beaches are closed. Restaurants aren't operating, neither are the bars and its going to be a pretty lonely holiday with nobody else around.

They aren't allowing tourist visas yet.Well all I know is that the trans Pacific portion of my United Airlines flight to Singapore was cancelled the other day. Since early June I knew this mid August scheduled departure was not going to happen. United's announcement just made it official.
On their website United gave me 3 choices: reschedule the flight for up to 5 months down the road, take a United account credit for the flight good for up to 2 years, or accept a full cc refund. I chose a full refund. So that's that. No trip for me and nothing scheduled until a vaccine is available. And today I cancelled all my hotel reservations and inter Asian flights. I am kind of blue now. It would have been a great trip. But I don't see any changes or improvement as far as international air travel is concerned in the next 6 months because it is going to take a vaccine break thru to change the current international status quo.
The good news is the incentives are strong, many high tech pharmaceutical companies worldwide are racing to be first to develop a viable vaccine, and there are signs that progress is being made ie serious Human trials are now underway. The bad news is from testing to production to world wide distribution, it is going to take TIME. That's why I opted for an Airline refund over a reschedule or an account credit. I plan to book a bigger & better trip as soon as I get the vaccine; whenever that is. Probably not until the end of the 1st quarter 2021. But we shall see.

I have multi-trip travel insurance, which currently covers me for COVID, but then at the minute I can't travel. Absolutley certain that when it comes to renewal COVID-19 will not be included in the cover. So I can either hope I catch it and recover (in a first world country) between now and borders re-open, I take the risk of catching it whilst travelling in the Big Durian (not really a good plan), or wait untill a vaccine is available. I can see it being at least another year before I step in Jakarta, unless I get sent there for work. So fingers are crossed for the work route, then I will have proper medical coverage.

A more likely prospect is that either the labs come up with a viable vaccine in the next 12 months or mother nature will do the job for us with herd immunity. I tend to think a vaccine is the only near-term (meaning in the next year or so) solution to this. Herd immunity would be great (other than the number of deaths and permanent health problems necessary to get there) but for a number of reasons it doesn't seem very likely to me we will get there.

There are many countries with a much less infection rate than the US so I don't see the risk. Vietnam has had 369 infections and no deaths and Cambodia has had 141 infections and no deaths from covid-19 so I don't see the risk for Americans, though being allowed entry into those countries is a completely different issue.The risk is that no country will want US residents entering their pristine covid-free country. While many countries have taken the hard decisions to reduce the spread of the virus in their community it would appear from the case numbers that the US has chosen to tolerate high virus rate. US will be able to travel to other covid-high countries like Brazil but entering for a quick holoday low rate countries like Vn, Th or ID unlikely.
I have come across a type of Tinder contact who are obviously scam artists but as I have neither the patience nor the inclination to see it through I don't know what their angle is.
The first one claimed to be an Indonesian woman living in Hong Kong, and living the high life. Personal details were very sketchy but she would WA me pictures of her top-of-the-range Mercedes or the fine jewellery she was wearing that night. I wasn't particularly interested as I am more of a low (very low) hanging fruit kinda guy, pembantus and karaoke hostesses rather than society hostesses being my field of operations, I get the same result for one thousandth of the cost.
Anyway, every morning I would get a new picture of her high life, with a brief description of what she had done the previous day, but nothing in the way of normal human chit-chat. Then one day she sent me a picture of a beautifully set out and elaborate Chinese fish dish that her "maid had cooked her for lunch". Well her maid must be a five-star chef I thought, so I confirmed whether she was actually in a restaurant, no she assured me this was her dining room and her maid had brought her lunch. I then noticed something in the corner of the pic, "So why does your maid bring you a receipt along with your lunch? Conversation ended after that. No big deal, a pointless show-off trying to impress a stranger, I forgot about it.
Now I find myself in a conversation with another Indonesian woman, trapped by visa regulations in Hong Kong. And she obviously has a great career, she showed me a picture of the nice boat she was going out in a spin around the bay. I asked her, not with any great interest, how her trip was. She replied the next morning, apologising for being tired after her trip saying it was fun. The next morning she sends me pictures of two watches, one a Rolex, one an AP, which should she pick? Eenie-meenie I thought and picked one, "ooh" she replies (next morning) "that's the one I like too", and proceeded to ask me about my watch collection. Next morning a picture of her in her bathroom mirror at home, hmmmm, I have seen a few hotel bathrooms before and I know what they look like, besides the four miniature soap bottles in the shower are a bit of a give-away.
So what's the angle? They are pretending to be extremely wealthy independent women, living the high life. The scam is a bit poorly run depending as it does on photos culled from the internet and the messages are only sent in the morning. Like I say I haven't the inclination to follow it through but no doubt it involves bank account details and cash transfers but to be honest the speed at which they operate it could be months before the sting emerges. Anyone been here before? Is there a way I can have fun in return?

The first one was pretty useless as she couldn't manage any sort of conversation beyond flashing her supposed wealth (in hindsight I think there might have been another one, an Indonesian woman who claimed to be a wine importer and when in passing I mentioned something about fasting she asked me why anyone would fast, and then made it clear she had no idea what Ramadan was, an unlikely Indonesian, no matter whet religion she was).
This one I am currently engaged with can actually chat about things, including movies and TV programs, but keeps bringing the topic around to money, investments and luxury items. She insists the hotel bathroom is actually her apartment in Repulse Bay. Yeah, when did you ever see a woman's bathroom that wasn't totally cluttered with tubes, brushes, jars, bottles, cotton wool and all the other crap they store in there? Not even a toothbrush to sully the pristine marble sink unit, while behind her is a crisply folded white towel and the aforementioned miniature shampoo bottles.
This doesn't even seem worthwile pursuing like the Nigerian scammers, sounds like it's all too long and boring.

Check in at 2 pm, the room is now yours for the next 24 hours. Get on Tinder or Twitter as suggested below, you can easily line up dates starting from mid-afternoon until the wee hours of the following morning. Shower, check out and return to your apartment the next day as pure as the driven snow in the eyes of your neighbours.
In answer to your original question, however, no there are no commercial, point-and-shoot, establishments operating at the moment, but there is no shortage, whatsoever, of available talent online, it just takes a bit of simple effort. Heck you might even get what you're looking for without any cash changing hands, I know I have.

I have come across a type of Tinder contact who are obviously scam artists but as I have neither the patience nor the inclination to see it through I don't know what their angle is.
The first one claimed to be an Indonesian woman living in Hong Kong, and living the high life. Personal details were very sketchy but she would WA me pictures of her top-of-the-range Mercedes or the fine jewellery she was wearing that night. I wasn't particularly interested as I am more of a low (very low) hanging fruit kinda guy, pembantus and karaoke hostesses rather than society hostesses being my field of operations, I get the same result for one thousandth of the cost.
Anyway, every morning I would get a new picture of her high life, with a brief description of what she had done the previous day, but nothing in the way of normal human chit-chat. Then one day she sent me a picture of a beautifully set out and elaborate Chinese fish dish that her "maid had cooked her for lunch". Well her maid must be a five-star chef I thought, so I confirmed whether she was actually in a restaurant, no she assured me this was her dining room and her maid had brought her lunch. I then noticed something in the corner of the pic, "So why does your maid bring you a receipt along with your lunch? Conversation ended after that. No big deal, a pointless show-off trying to impress a stranger, I forgot about it.
Now I find myself in a conversation with another Indonesian woman, trapped by visa regulations in Hong Kong. And she obviously has a great career, she showed me a picture of the nice boat she was going out in a spin around the bay. I asked her, not with any great interest, how her trip was. She replied the next morning, apologising for being tired after her trip saying it was fun. The next morning she sends me pictures of two watches, one a Rolex, one an AP, which should she pick? Eenie-meenie I thought and picked one, "ooh" she replies (next morning) "that's the one I like too", and proceeded to ask me about my watch collection. Next morning a picture of her in her bathroom mirror at home, hmmmm, I have seen a few hotel bathrooms before and I know what they look like, besides the four miniature soap bottles in the shower are a bit of a give-away.
So what's the angle? They are pretending to be extremely wealthy independent women, living the high life. The scam is a bit poorly run depending as it does on photos culled from the internet and the messages are only sent in the morning. Like I say I haven't the inclination to follow it through but no doubt it involves bank account details and cash transfers but to be honest the speed at which they operate it could be months before the sting emerges. I have a similar story regarding Tinder and HongKong, albeit with different nationalities involved, but somewhat the same tale. I live in the US and when I see an Asian looking woman between 18-40 in Tinder where it says she lives relatively close by, I swipe right. A good percentage of the time they then match with me.
However, the three times it has happened, it turns out they actually live in either HongKong or Shenzhen, the Chinese border city to the north. One gal claimed to live in an upscale beach area in Hong Kong that has million dollar condo's, another lived in Shenzhen and said she owned an upscale men's clothing line with a partner and sent me photos of various high end suits. Another also lived in Shenzhen and was in finance of some sort. They all claimed to be living or traveling in the US visiting relatives or for business until Covid19 called them home, hence the reason Tinder indicated they were close to my home.
Given the distance involved and the fact neither of us can travel to our respective destinations, I grew weary of the convos after a while, not to mention the time difference in communicating. I kept waiting for the hustle though it never came. So wondering like you what this is about.
Also, I received a Tinder match from an attractive Japanese woman living in Tokyo. Her posts were a bit more interesting as she sent me photos of a recent ski trip to northern Japan and some interesting pics of Tokyo. She also claimed to be in Chicago until she had to return in March. Again, I can't travel to Tokyo until the Covid restrictions are lifted though I suppose it's always nice to know someone who speaks and reads English in Tokyo.
So is this just some oddball Asian thing or what?

But for the quick one-off, get it done and walk away sort of relationship most of us want (we wouldn't be on this site otherwise) the "sosialita" is not really an option.
First off they have been around the course a few times, you can't bullshit them like you can a 19 yo waitress just up from Sukabumi and getting used to life amid the bright lights and big city. Second, where are you going to take them? Regards.The most painful part was getting on the airplane. Lots of confusion and incorrect information when trying to get alignment between Immigration, the local Indonesian Embassy, and the airline is no small effort. It's clear that none of these offices actually talk to each other. I was denied at the airport twice and not allowed to board the flight, once for not having the right information from the local Embassy and the other because the local Embassy never informed the airline. I did need to have a PCR test, a medical certificate, and a "fit to fly" certificate, all dated within a week.
After finally getting all the paperwork done, 3rd times a charm, I was able to board the flight and lift-off. Arriving Indonesia was time consuming but relatively painless. Lots of waiting, lots of social distanced lines to wait in, lots of rubber stamps. Slow moving and spread out but fairly well put together.
Any Mongers in Jakarta up for a weekend drink, let me know!

I live in Australia and believe it will be most unlikely we will be allowed to depart our shores for OS destinations before the end of this year maybe well beyond that.

And I assume people can still move around and online dating services are still operational. So, although there is no opportunity to go to well-managed venues and select from a large number of girls on sight and efficiently do 3-4 girls in an evening, logically there should be some great opportunities to hook up with a few really attractive girls online and develop more long-term p4 p relationships with very good service. Went through Blok M on the way home last night just to see if anything was open, and to my surprise there was! The Tavern is now open, and had a reasonable crowd in there last night. At the moment it's the only place that's open on the street, but according to the staff the other bars are planning to open up beginning of next month.
They also mentioned that Dees permanently closed, was picked up by a new owner, doing some cleanup, and will be reopening next month as well. Hopefully all the other spots are close behind.

The whole Lokasari area is best avoided for the time being as one particularly stupid French fuckwit screwed that pooch over during the pandemic and it's not a safe location nowadays. If you are familiar with all the other aspects of the Jakarta scene, however, and know how to handle it, then there is plenty available.
All the hotels are open and there are some remarkably cheap options available with reasonable 3* and 4* rooms in South and Central Jakarta going for $20 a night, I would recommend the Agoda app. Be prepared for all the usual rigmarole of temperature checks and wearing masks when you check in but after that everything is as normal.
Tinder is as busy as ever perhaps even busier with so many people bored and locked down at home. The money is clearly tight, this can be detected by the number of girls who have signed up for "trading" sites and other multi-level pyramid scams. You can spot most of them straight away, look out for PT Invest / Futures / Equities / Forex / Gold or whatever as their employer and their job description as financial adviser or "binis konsultan", how many 19 yo girls in jilbabs do you think are business consultants in Jakarta? Simply ignore them, you might get to meet them for a coffee, during office hours, but beyond that forget it. Same with the African girls, there are quite a few of them about, I have no idea what the deal is with them but you'll get the run-around and probably never score. Beyond them there are a million eligible girls out there for you to work your charms on, to the extent that I would safely ignore the blatant BO / VCS girls, they are not individual girls but simply a front for a mama somewhere. You'll make a booking with the girl who claims to be the one in the picture and who says she lives 20 minutes away and two hours later someone completely different from the pic will arrive.
The bars are opening up again, all the regular ones anyway, not sure why Falatehan isn't, perhaps they were never making any money and they have simply shut down for good.
All in all, if you know how to manage expectations in Jakarta (ie you know you aren't always going to get what you wanted and then when you expect the least you hit the jackpot), you have a bit of the lingo and you can use smartphone apps you should have no problem getting what you want. If you are a newbie, however, it would be best to give it a miss for the time being.

Not as effective as OS's iron horse, but still very suitable for Saturday morning excursions! I typically ride with Ibu Gern on Sunday mornings, and I try to keep her in front of me so she cannot see my head waggling from side to side when we ride through some of the loops in Bintaro, BSD, PIK or TangSel. I must give some of the new riders credit, though. They are working hard to stay healthy!

Both have fewer customers than pre-covid, but have really been cleaned up and look a lot better. There were also some locals hanging out in front of Obama bar and another one a bit down the street, but I didn't bother to peek my head in.
Ended up out for a walk and found a little alley with lots of little bars and "massage" shops (with bars) that seemed pretty open for business. That is if your stomach can handle that level of sleaze.

In addition to Berlian Massage, which is at the end of the alley, there are a lot of bars with rooms upstairs on both sides of the street. Pretty sleazy, and if you're not shy I doubt you even need to take them upstairs, but made for a fun couple hours pretty late at night.
Curious if anyone with more experience than myself has any updates on other places open for business? Anything in South Jakarta that comes to mind?

I have had a bit of an issue with fake pictures and the girl who shows up not being the same as the one I had a quick video call with. Authorities have tried to control it a number of times and Yokowi had it bulldozed at least once since then. Not sure what the status is these days. It may still be going. Not a safe area to go, please note. But perhaps for those with a desire to calibrate the meaning of "sleaze", there used to be streethookers in front of Tanah Abang station as well. Approximate level. It saves from walking through the dirt and dealing with semi preman. Expect 250 k.

The Falatehan bars are open, just about, but they are certainly quiet with little or no action. They are hit and miss though, some nights they will stay open late, speakeasy-like, with all the exterior lights off and a "closed" sign on the door, the next night they will genuinely be closed at 8 pm, there doesn't appear to be any consistency, seems it depends which Satpol PP officer is on duty that night. There are other bars open in South Jakarta but no action that I can see.
As regards Tinder prices there are two types, the genuine girl working her own account and, more often, a mami using a fake profile and sending out whatever girls she has to hand when you agree to a meeting. The former are often genuinely hard up and will agree to an afternoon hookup for as little as 600 k, they are amateurs and can make for quite a nice date. Conversely the mamis start the bidding at 1. 5 jt, if you counter offer, say 800 k, there will be a delay while she presumably phones around asking if any of her girls are interested, if one agrees you're in luck. But of course there will be a two-hour delay as she gets ready and travels across town to wherever you are, and it's unlikely the girl who arrives will bear any resemblance to the girl in the profile.
But Tinder is pretty much the only scene there is just now, and being Jakarta there are still plenty of simple good old-fashioned bored girls stuck in a dead-end job living in a crappy kos-kosan, who just want to be spoiled for the night and are happy to make out with some decent guy who treats them nicely.

Girls moved downstairs to "Royal Below", and the standard of an already seriously downmarket place even further down. Aggressive mamis. And a warning to even other locals to be careful there. This punter would take the Priok bars or "Rambo", as they are known over that dump any day. If you drive straight North from that location into Penjaringan and Muara Baru fishing port, you will pretty quickly understand why it’s a dump

Everyone wears masks and in Jakarta you even need to wear them in your car even if you're by yourself.

Except I don't remember having to pay extra for room, towels (as none was provided- few tissues was handed for clean up), condoms was charged if you didn't bring any. The pimp gave a price and it was all inclusive from what I remember.
Funny, I was never a big fan of Kalijodo but I miss it now that its gone and wish I had visited more when it was still there. Cheap and a lot of variety.

Nothing to indicate any action in this area. Dead except for a few shops and people walking about. I went at about 5-6 pm as it was getting dark. Didn't feel real safe there as I don't know the place well so I left. Could be action starts later at night but I didn't hang around to find out. Or perhaps this area has action now that Kalijodo is gone. Don't know for sure, anyone with recent recon can fill in with a quick report.
Note, the last time I was in Jakarta was about 3.5yrs ago so things might be very different now.

And south of that area, on the bridge called Ks. Tubun, at the bottom of Ekspats drawing.
On the bridge you will find many street walkers, sitting on bikes or stools. Most nights of the week (I often have to travel that way with work).
