Medan airport is small. After you get out from the airport, a lot of touts would say hi to you. Don't bother them. Go straight to the main entrance. Get out, Just in front of the traffic circle you see the green colour Petronas petrol station. Go over there, get a bluebird taxi. Say "Argo?" Argo=Meter, bluebird always use meter, just to reconfirm. Otherwise you could ride becak (medan tuk tuk). For foreigner, unfortunately you pay the same price as bluebird taxi for becak. Always negotiate first. They will say 50k. 20k and act in front of you, blabla. If the distance is 2km. 2km x 3000rp, give them 6000rp. If they don't accept, walk away, the price quickly jump off the cliff under most circumstances.

So you already have the idea of transport.

You need transport to go to Medan redlight district-Jalan Iskandar Muda aka Jalan Nusantara in Google Map. The adjacent road, Jalan Gajah Mada, Jalan S Parman are the road where street girls stand.

They start standing there since 8pm. From 10pm, there are more and more girls. 1am is the peak in girl number.

You have no need to give extra money to your becak since they have chance to ride you back, earn you one more time. Stick to the "kilo" kilometer payment mode.

I am glad you are enjoying Medan, I love the city but I must admit I was biased from the start. I visited Medan for a few days, and decided to check out the scene at Hotel Danau Toba. First I went to the club called Tavern. Very dark. I could see some ladies sitting there, but even in the dark they looked unattractive. So I went outside and around the corner to the clube called Cube. Dark and noisy. Just got back from Medan.

A hotel that does not need a lift pass is not essential, but prevents you having to do walk of shame if you have girls coming to your room. Danau Toba International does not need lift pass.

From Bali to Medan it is 4 hours by flight. My flight is 3:15 PM. So, woke up around 10:00 am and checked out. Based on the previous reviews, wanted to try village arum spa. Reached Medan airport around 4:30 PM. I didn't have enough IDR, so withdrawn cash from ATM in airport before going to purchase SIM and call GRAB. In Australia all ATMs will dispense cash only after you have taken off your card from machine. But Indonesia, cash comes first, and card comes later. My bad time being in a hurry, I left the card and took cash to purchase the SIM card. Other than Jakarta, I think most of the other airports don't have GRAB terminals. You can't get the GRAB with in airport. So, decided to try the train service. The lady near the automated machine said only debit cards will work no credit cards. Just realized my debit card is missing. Too bad already came out of airport and the only option is to block the card. Luckily, I have other bank accounts, so transferred the money to other accounts instantly.

I came to see here primarily to meet my old contact which I had written a report during my last vist. I found her in Indonesian cupid few years back. She is 23 years old working in an office. I did visit a spa tho, at the E hotel. They have an Instagram so you can follow and somewhat select girls, from that but accuracy again I would questions.
