Numerous other posts have talked about the tendency of many Japanese establishments of interest to readers refusing to accept non-Japanese clients or even posting signs that say "Japanese Only". Let me add my 2 cents.

Except in a few parts of a few major cities non-Japanese customers are a very small part of their potential clientele. So the "up side" of admitting them is small from the management viewpoint.
The downside is considerable:
- It appears that Japanese men often don't want to go to adult businesses that foreigners patronize. Thus "box locations" are more likely to discriminate than "delivery places" where the clientele has no idea about other clients.
- Size, or at least perception of size, does matter and some Japanese women think they don't want to deal with what may be a larger size.
- Many Japanese think foreigners are more likely to carry STDs than Japanese although Japanese appear to use condoms less in nonmonagamous sexual activities.
- Japanese have a bias that non-Japanese could not possibly know they language and therefore when they see your face they immediately conclude communications is impossible. These 4 issues may why Asians / Asian Americans who don't speak Japanese often have fewer problems than "anglos".

This is a very good assessment of the Japanese Only experience. I might add one topic which I refer to as "saving face" which is an entirely foreign concept to westerners. Saving face means much more than just avoiding embarrassment and uncomfortable situations. Much of it involves what amounts to telling disingenuous lies and showing unnecessary humility from a western perspective in the interest of saving face. An example might be to apologize profusely for bothering a tencho immediately after he turns you down. While this may seem like a disingenuous lie, especially when you're very angry and upset for being turned down, it really is a form of saving face for the tencho who has the job of telling you your business is not wanted. Most westerners find this practice to be bothersome, unnecessary and not in keeping with their moral compass. I believe this is a significant reason why many shops just don't want to deal with us. It is uniquely Japanese for these behavioral norms to be proper. Inside, a Japanese man may be feeling,"What an asshole!" but he would never vocalize or even display body language consistent with this. Westerners often consider this phony and disingenuous and can't bring themselves to understand that this is the way things are. Often, if said foreigner is lubricated on alcohol, this problematic interpretation becomes amplified.
Every sane-minded Japanese knows this instinctively. We foreigners are most often raised seeing through a totally different prism. For instance, we don't think getting in someone's face is so out of line if it is "justified" if we think we may have been disrespected. This "attitude" is what tencho don't want to deal with. Be humble, be modest, be quiet, be sober and most importantly, learn how to behave like a Japanese and things may improve for yourself.
Numerous other posts have talked about the tendency of many Japanese establishments of interest to readers refusing to accept non-Japanese clients or even posting signs that say "Japanese Only". Let me add my 2 cents.
Japan has a long established widely diverse (

- Size, or at least perception of size, does matter and some Japanese women think they don't want to deal with what may be a larger size.
- Many Japanese think foreigners are more likely to carry STDs than Japanese although Japanese appear to use condoms less in nonmonagamous sexual activities.
- Japanese have a bias that non-Japanese could not possibly know they language and therefore when they see your face they immediately conclude communications is impossible. These 4 issues may why Asians / Asian Americans who don't speak Japanese often have fewer problems than "anglos".
- Japanese adult businesses have more complex expectation of their interactions with customers than those in many other countries. These range from taking off shoes to taking baths in the right order. If they are just standing there, and if they do not wink or smile at you, your description makes me think of bar girls. If you are certain they are not, and if they are not especially standing in front of some other shop (kyaba, massage shop etc.), then they might just be deriheru girls who agreed to meet their customer outside, or girls who are just waiting for someone.

You're physically 100% Japanese and can speak the language. Don't underestimate how much of an advantage that gives you.
Simply being able to communicate gets you considerably further than most gaijin right off the bat.
I have a handful of friends around Japan without whose company there's no way I would have been allowed to enter certain bars or clubs.
In terms of gaijin friendly vs non-gaijin you should check out MinatoKu's excellent post and Homer69's post just down the page.
Being able to read Kanji is probably less important than being able to speak. Google translate can probably handle webpages for you.
And if you are ordering 'take-out' rather than visiting an establishment, your language skill comes in to play.
More important will be a grasp of 'Kata' for mongering situations eg. Proper behaviour and face-saving as Homer69 described.
The other thing worth mentioning is consider where in Japan you will be visiting. Don't expect the same behaviour in say Okinawa (US military base on the doorstep), as perhaps Kyoto, or Saitama or Sapporo. Again, the percentage of gaijin clients will surely influence the attitude and availability of services.
Just my 2 cents for what its worth.

Soapland is strictly bathing. What happens after the bath is between you and the girl. Usually it's FS. Japanese services can be hard to access, even for fluent speakers of Japanese. However, recently I've noticed more and more shops showing a "foreigners welcome" note on their ad sites. Some of these are in English, but many write it in Japanese, meaning those of you without any reading ability may not get far.
Try searching "gaikokujin OK" or something along those lines (in Japanese is best).
Some shops are challenged to communicate in English, and many girls as well, but they do want your money.
The prices I have found range from 50,000/ HR (AV top shelf rip offs in my book) to 10,000/ HR (over 30 or 40 year olds). Around the 15,000-25,000 you should be able to get a very good looking gal to come to your hotel with superb skills. FS is not officially on the menu, but if she is in the mood it can happen. You will need to factor in more processing time for international, in or out.
But I agree, you would be cutting it fine, regardless. Perhaps look for flights to / from the same airport and save a couple of hours transfer time.

~BKKguru.I never did the transfer from Haneda to Narita, but if you want use the train, you can take the train from Haneda to Shinagawa Station (21 min) then take the Narita Express from Shinagawa to Narita (68 min). There are other train options (probably cheaper than Narita Express) but you will have to change at least 3/4/5 trains. Haneda airport is not much big, easy to reach the train station from immigration / customs. Shinagawa is a big station so you will have to walk "a bit" for change the line.

I found a ANA flight directly into NRT with a 1. 5 hour layover. (Higher priced than the ANA flight into HND).
I have flown through NRT many times. I love to stroll this Airport and flirt with the Cuties working at the Duty Free shops and Restaurants.

In summer of 1996 I did IT support work for two months at the Atlanta Olympics. Back then I worked for a really large company and it had subcontracts all over. So past few months I've been noticing a lot of odd Chinese or other asian accounts coming up as I browse through Tinder. Asking the ward office to find out where I could give language lessons is an excellent idea, as lessons should also provide a legitimate excuse to leave office or my colleagues' activities during certain times. An interest for the local culture and language did help me a great deal in China, if made my FWB there turn into an LTR and provided lots of other happy moments, too.
Not yet sure whether it is going to happen (I definitely miss Asia, although I haven't been to Japan yet), but if it happens, I will post.

Long story short, met a local JN on MeetMe and chatted for a little and then she asked for my Telegram username. Obliged and we started shatting from that platform. Yong lady goes on to say she's into hook-ups and I'm good with that. All she wants if 5000 yen on an Apple card so her kids can be left alone playing video games while we do the do. I asked to meet her in the daytime and she said yes, but I would need to show proof of purchase and balked and told her that her kids should be in school why does she need to keep them busy with games, where I got the "my kids are sick and not in school yet. ".
Ok, I've been around the block, and actually had a similar experience with another JN with a similar set up and didn't bite. Don't think I will on this one either. It's too easy and I get suspicious.

It's common in many countries. As soon as she has the details, she'll block you.

Teltel.Just to follow up. I set up a time to meet and of course I got that "I'll be there no problem. " Took my time and was actually running late and forgot when I get the text I'm ready. Told her I was in a different color car and about 10 minutes out. Right as I got near I got another text from her stating she was still at home and needed to calm her kid down with play points so she could leave. Told her not going to do that, I was "concerned for the kids" and I would give her the Google play cards when we met, or otherwise I told her she was a scam. Of course I got the whole "I'm not a scam. " and I gave her a few pointers on running a scam. Namely don't bring kids "imagined" into it and to realize I as well as she was just another train in the night, I may not bite but somebody else will just like I didn't need her for anything there were plenty of other women out there.
Overall my advice, unless you meet face to face and you look like the latest Hollywood (or Bollywood and K-Pop idol) don't think that anyone online is too good to be true. There are a few out there, but mostly just scammers.

So in the summer I'll be hitting some main cities for three weeks on a food and culture visit, mainly, hopefully intersperse with some poontang.
I'm used to the FL and P4 P scene in Thailand and a bit in Vietnam, where you just need to get on Line or Wechat and so on to start filtering and negotiating.
I realise it is probably different here to some degrees. So, if a non-Japanese speaking guy wants to bang a few cute uni students or young women or MILFs looking for some extra cash, where.
Should I start looking? Could you advise of apps and socials used in Japan?
Furthermore what kind of prices do these girls ask for FS on outcalls? I've seen on a few sites that FS isn't always on the table, just caressing, stroking or something.
If I could just get a quick read of the situation, I could decide whether it's worth the effort and / or $.

Looking for some feedback on the situation for getting tested for hiv and stds in Tokyo.
Have done previously in Bangkok at red cross clinic anonymously. Is such a thing possible here? Anon or not, what are typical prices for such tests? In Bkk the result is ready in around an hour. Anything similar in Tokyo?

Curious about the no foreigners, does this apply to all non Japanese? I'm Asian so would I be able to slip into some spots as a non-white guy? No Japanese, or not enough to survive without my phone.
