Since prostitution defined narrowly is illegal in Japan, there is no mandatory health check for those ladies. However, the level of awareness is probably high and they can get free tests on demand. Overall HIV prevalence in Okinawa is quite low, and by far most cases are male gays. STD rates are not as low overall, so you still need to be careful, and rates of the "minor" ones like chlamydia, are high, but maybe more in the young single and high school female population. There are two major redlight districts not far from Kadena - "Yoshiwara" and Maehara. Take a taxi to either place and it won't cost much more than ten bucks. The standard deal is 15 minutes for 5000 yen, full service.

i just took a peek at this forum to look in on my old stomping grounds, cuz i heard they closed down so of my old haunts, and i guess it's tru. i left there 2 years ago, so my intel may be a bit outdated. as far as places i had gone, there was a red light district on a huge hill. if you go left at 4 corners on gate 2 street keep straight, it's kinda a ways down, and across the street you should see a mc d's, man i wish i could find a map of mc d's on the island, it would be easy to find. this is a place i recommend, every time i went, 5k for 30 min. i believe the soaplands in naha have been covered, but just a tip if you don't know take 58 there is a club called the slums thats pretty easy to find, from there i find taking a cab is the best way to go for 1st timers, at least for me anyway, i got lost more that once lol. the places i went ran around $150, but it was cheaper if you payed in yen. full service, the whole human lufa treatment, and a massage after you get about 60 min good times. i'm sure by now the stage (naha music stage, was the name i believe) is shutdown, but that place was kinda crazy, live sex shows with willing marines i hear. thats pretty much all i got sorry, i spent a lot of time in the juice bar across from pyramid, twas a great little low key spot. hope this helps a little.

When you get to this intersection take a left up 329. There is a small police shack on your right make the left directly across from it. This will take you right to Yoshi.

Maehara: Go down 58 and once you pass McDonalds make the left on 34 Heading towards Nishihara. Look on the left for the San A (three A's that make a triangle, yellow and red sign) it is easier to see than the blue and white sign over the access steet to Maehara on the right.

Try it again, Juan. When you go uphill on 34 you will see a San-A on the left. Just a few meters past there, on the righthand side past the pachinko, you'll see a narrow road with a big blue kanji sign over it. Drive in a hundred meters and you'll start seeing some interesting things. That's Maehara. You can pay to park there or go back and park at San-A. It's usually better to walk around - you get a better look at what's for sale.

I finally have time to write a brief trip report since moving here. I spent my first night at the Naha Port Hotel near the airport ($100.00) After checking into my single room, I started calling delivery health girls from Okinawa315.c0m. Jay, I live in Chatan Cho. I have not experienced Naha yet. I am waiting for a friend to show me the ropes---maybe in a week.

Realizing that you recently arrived on-island, but how much do you really know about the northern part of the island? I would suggest that you put it on your calender to pay a visit to Kin. Even before the ban on the consumption of alcohol by servicemembers off base, there was little or no activity in regards to mongering to be had in this area. Why do you suppose all of the grunts perfer heading south to Gate 2 Street, Naha, etc..As for FeriFeri agreeing to drive up here, lot'sa luck...Even if one were successful in negotiating for someone to come up, where would one go for a session? 99.99% of these folks live in barracks, where entry and access is controlled. And Kin isn't exactly chock full of Motel 6's, Holiday Inn's, etc..

Wow if that is the case then things have realy changed! When I first came to the island (granted I first came here back in '93). I lived and worked in Yomitan at the time and made it my purporse to go to Kin nearly every night due to the amount of mongering to be had. It is a shame to hear that it is gone. Now all that aside I will say, because for my first few years I was the same way, a big reason that many of the grunts go south is because they just can't speak the lingo and understand the way the love hotel system works. I realy recommend to everyone new to the island to take the UMUC Japanese course. Just the little bit you learn in it goes a LONG way into helping you. And who knows, you may enjoy it and go on to take the follow up courses and get real good at it.

I did some recon at Yoshihara last night between 10 and 11 PM. Plenty of action going on. Cars going in and out, taxis with military guys, and several making the walk from Gate 2 and back. Like the news article said last week, many signs are up indicating Japanese only. However, I saw several booths still open to foreigners.

The simple way to drive there IMHO is to drive North (North-East) on 330 until the intersection of 329. Continue one more block and start looking for the small side streets on the left. I believe I entered just before getting to the McDonalds which is on the opposite side of the street as the RLD.

So, . You work up at Camp Hansen (Kin). A suggestion. We see enough postings on Yoshihara here (Yoshihara RLD Recon). TOFTT and embark on that quest of finding the elusive WG's up in Kin, and give us a report.

P.S.. I read the archived threads for Okinawa, and there is very little insofar as action up in Kin or Nago for that matter. Time changes alot of things. Kin used to be the shiz-nit until around 2004 (? ) or whenever it was that japan cracked down on the "entertainment" Visas that the Philly buy-me-drinky-girls were over here on.

There are two Asian branches in Koza (north and south of Gate 2 Street). The third franchise (still called Pretty White) is in Naha at Kume (west of Kumoji intersection).
If you go in the evening (i.e. busy time), call ahead to set up an appointment. Otherwise, you either will be turned away or have to wait in the TV lounge.

Currently, you have Audrey Pub in Tsuji Area (basement), Tao Po in Kumoji (5th floor), and Top Show Pub in Matsuyama (4th floor).

Even though they are staffed by Filipina, they are Japanese-style bars, i.e. you pay by the hour. About Y5-6K/1.5 hours. All you can drink. If the bar is not busy, you'll be assigned a girl to sit with you. Sometimes, two or three. Otherwise, you'll be timesharing with the other tables.

The types of ladies could be there: Japanese, local Filipina, and imported Filipina. No way dude! Korea is the same way. Wasn't always like that, say early 90's. Used to be if you were american you could have any korean girl you wanted. I have never heard of this happening to anyone in any of the SHOPPING DISTRICTS of Japan... Kawasaki, Maehara, Yosihara, Koganecho/Hinodecho, Machida, etc...because it is bad for business. If they aren't going to service you then you won't get in the door. I am not saying that this did not happen. What I am saying is that it would be a very unusual circumstance. Which house was it? Maehara is not that big and a little description would help. I'd like to get to the bottom of this quickly.

I would not rate many of my experiences at Maehara as great but they have never been bad. Let's face it, it is 5K for 15 minutes. It has to be sex that is FAST AND FURIOUS. Though not great, they have certainly not been as horrible as you describe.

Thanks for all the info. I found yoshihara no problem. Went around 1130 on Tuesday afternoon. From okinawa city, I took 330 to 329. I took left on 329 and then the first right on a small street (there is a little sign that actually says Yoshihara in roman-ji letters, so it is not that hard). There were already about 8 places open. A few gave me the "I'm not looking at you so please understand I don't take gaijin look. " But at least 4 gave me the look that let me know I was welcome. I chose a plump one (I like tham that way), probably about 25. She was friendly and faked enthusiasm well. She said her name was yumi or yugi, something like that, and she is a mainlander from Tokyo. I would repeat.

True to my intention, I went by the old spot where Naha Music (aka the Stage) used to be and there is a closed up building with a chain on the door that looks like it has been out of commission for a while.

Too bad. It was a very unique place. For 35 bucks you could get off your exhibitionist thrills if you had the mind, or for an extra 50 or so have a 20 minute session in the backroom.

Probably was closed because most of the girls were South American, probably in Japan under questionable terms. I notice all the places left in Okinawa seem to have homegrown girls, either from Okinawa or the mainland. Depends on where in Naha you are.
If you are in the Tomari area it will cost:
about 1000 Yen to get to Tsuji
-2000-2500 yen to get to Maehara
-3000-5000 to get to Yoshihara.

As for the buy me drink bars being closed that is inaccurate. There are still a few outside of gate 2 that are indeed open. Those that were outside ofHansen are all gone however.

Regarding the military curfew - if you are a Marine then you may still face a curefew based upon your rank or the liberty card they have issued you. Also they are trying to kick in a new order that all E-3's (LCpl's) and below cannot comsum any hard alcohol (anything above 10%) at any time regaurdless of age or type liberty card.

Personnaly I did the curfew as if frees the bars of the fools early and lets those that understand how to act remain. Stil some fools will screw it up.

Night life in Hasen is DONE. Its sucks the Kinville we all know and love is but a memory in our brains. Gate 2 Street is dying fast as well, nothing like the days gone by.

Some notes on the liberty policy in Okinawa:

Lieutenant Gen. Richard C. Zilmer, commanding general of III MEF and MCBJ, signed a new Liberty Campaign Order Sept 29.
The order effectively combines all orders and directives relating to leave, liberty and special liberty. The order provides simple guidance and expectations of military members assigned to MCBJ and III MEF within Japan while in an off-duty status.
"This order includes measures designed to prevent misconduct and promote responsible and mature behavior," said Zilmer. "I expect the highest degree of responsibility, maturity and self-discipline from Marines and sailors, family members and civilians here in Japan. We are all ambassadors and must serve as good neighbors to our Japanese and Okinawan hosts."
The most significant change as a result of the new order is an end to the midnight curfew for all Marines and sailors, which has been in effect since early April. However, the midnight curfew still applies to red liberty card holders who must observe a midnight to 5 a.m. curfew and are required to have a liberty-buddy during off-base liberty. Gold liberty card holders now have no curfew.
The new order also prohibits all military members from patronizing bars or clubs off-base as well as consuming alcohol off base after 2 a.m. Service members may be in eating establishments after 2 a.m., but the purchase of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.
The new 70-page Liberty Campaign Order is the result of a series of actions taken by Marine Corps leadership to improve the conduct of service members during off-base liberty on Okinawa. Many of these measures are the result of a series of off-base liberty incidents earlier this year that garnered significant negative reaction from U.S. and Japanese officials, local leaders and the Okinawan community, the most significant of which was the abusive sexual contact of an Okinawan girl by a Marine in February.
Among the changes made over the past seven months were an expansion of uniformed courtesy patrols, changes to the liberty card policy, checks of outgoing vehicles at U.S. Marine Corps installations and additions to the Newcomer's Orientation Welcome Aboard (NOWA) Seminar.
The new Liberty Campaign Order addresses leave and liberty regulations, the off-base liberty card program, the liberty risk program, liberty buddy order, the courtesy patrol program, prohibited activities, civilian clothing regulations, and the alcohol abuse and de-glamorization policy.
Over the next few months, the Okinawa Marine newspaper will publish a series of stories about the various aspects of the new order to highlight what Marines and sailors should know.

Some of the significant policy changes found in the new order include:
ALCOHOL IN THE BARRACKS
E-3s and below who live in barracks shall not possess more than six 12-oz beers/wine coolers/malt liquor beverages or one bottle of wine per occupant of legal drinking age (20 years old).
Hard liquor is not authorized to be purchased by, consumed by, possessed by or stored in barracks of E-3s and below regardless of age. This includes those E-3s and below who are in a TAD or leave status. Hard liquor is defined by the Order as any beverage with an alcohol content of 10% or higher (20 proof or higher).
Non-commissioned officer or petty officers (E-4/E-5) who live in barracks shall not possess more than one 750 ml container of hard liquor or twelve 12-oz beers/wine coolers/malt liquor or two (2) bottles of wine per occupant of legal age. Hard liquor will be locked up at all times when not being consumed. An example of "securing" hard liquor would be locked within wall lockers or desk secretaries within the barracks room.
LIBERTY CARD POLICY
No liberty card will be issued until completion of the NOWA Seminar and the Standards of Conduct Class for all newcomers, regardless of rank. Newcomers are not allowed unaccompanied liberty without their sponsor until receiving the NOWA Seminar and Standards of Conduct Class.
Company commanders and company grade officers designated by battalion/squadron-level commanders may assign red liberty cards to deserving Marines and sailors. Only battalion/squadron-level commanders will assign gold liberty cards based upon recommendations of company, battery, and section team (CO, XO, 1stSgt) for those who have EARNED it through demonstrated maturity, judgment and superior conduct.
Service members E-4 and E-5 will normally be issued a gold liberty card. However, commanders may grant red liberty cards to those who, in the commander's judgment, have not demonstrated those traits outlined in the Order.
Service members E-6 and above will normally be issued a gold liberty card. However, the commander may consider initially issuing a red liberty card, should he/she desire a period of observation.
Off-base liberty for service members issued a red liberty card is secured to their home camp from midnight to 5 a.m.
All service members issued a red liberty card must have a liberty buddy during off-base liberty.
Service members issued a gold liberty card are authorized "overnight" liberty and are not required to check in, unless directed by their commander.
Drinking alcohol off-base is secured at 2 a.m. and NO service members are allowed in bars/clubs off-base past this time, regardless of color of liberty card or rank. Service members may be in eating establishments after 2 a.m., but purchase of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited.
Local leave in Japan does not dismiss the requirements to adhere to the rules of the Red and Gold Liberty Card Program. Red card holders on leave and in possession of valid leave papers may be off-base and are not required to check in, but must be indoors (hotel or private residence) between midnight and 5 a.m. when officially signed out on leave and in possession of valid leave papers.
LIBERTY BUDDY POLICY
Marines and sailors, E-3 and below, and all Red Liberty Card holders must have a liberty buddy for off-base liberty. The requirement for a liberty buddy applies to all liberty periods, including after working hours, over weekends, and during special liberty hours. Marines and sailors serving an accompanied tour are to have a liberty buddy in the event their family member is not available to accompany him/her during one of the above periods. Marines and sailors traveling between their residence and base do not require a liberty buddy for such travel, so long as they are traveling directly between base and residence and make no stops along the way.
If liberty buddies become separated, they must report their separation to their command within 30 minutes. While becoming separated from a liberty buddy in and of itself does not represent a violation of this Order, failing to report the separation is a violation of this Order.
OUTBOUND GATE CHECKS
At a minimum, all open access control points, on all Marine Corps camps and stations will have a non-commissioned officer or petty officer or above present (in a duty status) for outbound traffic checks between the hours of 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. on weekends and holidays.

True, except you still have to worry about those locals who do not like us being here. The same reports you see in the various English news explaining the Liberty policy are plastered all over the Japanese news as well. This leaves a chance that they may report you. This happened in mulitple instances while you guys were on restriction earlier this year. I am retired, with a full beard and it happened to me twice, even though I was out with Okinawan buddies, so it is always something to keep in the back of your head.

Further, just remember it doesn't take you messing up for your ass to get trouble. You could be doing all the right things and someone else make a problem for you, or a simple auto accident and your done for.

Quick advice would be to pick up a copy of the Okinawa Yellow Pages by Peace Phone Services.

* By Car:
- It's on Route 330.
- Head south along 330, past Foster, Ginowan, Futenma, Urasoe, and Shintoshin/Naha Main Place.
- When you get to Naha, you'll drive under or next to the monorail tracks, starting from Furujima Station.
- After Omoromachi stn and DFS, the next station is Asato.

If you are coming down Route 58, then, make a left onto Route 29, just before Tomarin Ferry Building. Follow Rt 29 until it hits Rt 330. Then, make a right for Asato.

* By Bus:
(1) From Koza, #90, #112, and #31 will get to Asato Stn without transferring.

So, this is the first post here but I've been a reader for a while. I have played at Yoshi, Maehara and Tsuji on Okinawa. Also played in mainland in Fukuoka and Osaka as well as Seoul, Korea. Yeah, enough about me, just wanted to establish that this isn't my first trip to the rodeo.

For me, and this is only my opinion, Tsuji is pretty much a waste of my time. Pricey, distant for most of us and most of the providers are less than stellar where we can get in. Of course my first chick at Tsuji a few years back was one that had me hoping again for something good to come out of there.

This one was next to a corner place called Donfin, called "couple" I think. 3AMish, quiet, little traffic due to some light rain. Parking is across the sidestreet and is walled in, you'll know it. There's the normal entrance on 329 just past the 329-330 intersection that brings you up a wide road with a wildly American-servicing bar/house on the left. I don't turn in there but go to the top of the hill on 329 and turn in at the next light, right across from the police box. The road winds around and pas a place called "LAIS". There's a piece of hidden gold in here. One of the girls is a bit older looking and fairly thin. She's tall and has really jet black hair. This one is worth the price of admission. I kind of figured that she had a different accent and the body structure was a bit out of what I was used to. Finally, I asked where she was from; Gents, she's from Taiwan. So, economic hard times for Japan have forced the "sorry, Japanese only" signs to get more and more scarce lately. The one you're talking about has kind of curled hair and the tattoos are single color kind of simple designs and text, correct? If you notice, and she hides it well, one of her feet or legs has some type of issue. If you are staying in Naha, you want to hit the Tsuji area Soaps for sure. You can read all about them in this forum. Any taxi driver will take you there. Just ask for Soaps. The area is walking distance from the back door of the Pacific Hotel. If you are GPS or Google Earth savy these coordinates should work: 26deg 12' 58.60N and 127deg 40.09.42E Be prepared to shell out between 120 and 150 per hour. Get the Trendy magazine and look for the places listed. They usually have simple maps. I like a place called Madonna and Chapel.

There are two red light districts North of Naha and they are both well covered here. I prefer the one called Yoshihara.

On the contrary, Yoshi is very hospitable. Many young, hot ladies will accept Americans. Sometimes they are reluctant around the hoards of drunken Marines, but hospitable nonetheless.

If you have a car, drive it and park at one of the three pay lots inside. It will cost no more than Y400. There are several entrances. I prefer driving down 330 until it turns into 75. Drive through the 329 intersection, stay in the left lane and turn left about 40 meters past this intersection. You will know you are good if you are turning before getting to a convenience store (Family Mart or Lawson).
If you found this entrance, drive up the hill to the top. There is a little store on your left and some vending machines. Turn left there. The pay lot is just up ahead on your left. The first time I visited I drove to the Family Mart/Lawsons that I mentioned on route 75 during the day. I parked in their lot, went in and bought some stuff, put it in my car so it would be visible, and then went into Yoshi on foot to explore every nook.

Even during the day (Saturday) there were several ladies, but the selection is MUCH better between and 9pm and midnight seven days a week. Payday weekends can be crowded with local military, but the ladies are out in force too.

Plenty of girls do BBBJ and plenty do not. You got to ask up upfront. I have met ladies who perform CBJ the first time, but will go uncovered on repeat visits. I know three or four that do CIM (they say mouth-coming O.K.) One very nice provider asked for 6k vice 5k for CIM.
