- Gotanda, a station on the Yamanote, which sports a small, but friendly red-light district. Take the east exit of Gotanda JR station, use the pedestrian overpass, and enter the little street between Yoshinoya on the left and Lawsons on the right. Do not go there before 7 pm, it would be dead. Wander around, and you will be approached by FEMALE touts offering "massagie" or possible "sex. " They are Chinese, and safe. You can go with them. They will lead you to a place where you can get (somewhat hurried) FS for 10,000 JPY.
- Yoshiwara is Tokyo's Soapland district. Most establishments are off-limits to the foreigner, but a few aren't. The best bet is to inquire at an information booth at the street corner. Though it gets mentioned a lot, I haven't really seen any recent reports from Paradise Kawasaki. I was in Tokyo for just a few days, and visited last Saturday afternoon, around 3:00 pm in the afternoon. Google maps is amazing, and the subway so precise you can tell what train you should take just by it's arrival time. Got off at Kawasaki and probably now more than 15 minute walk to Paradise. Entered and there was a woman at the counter, along with a couple of guys. I would not say they were super friendly, but nice enough and spoke English. Many shops / girls won't service foreigners because of communication difficulties, and their lack of cultural respect. There may be shops that advertise a cheaper price, but like low cost airlines, this could be for a basic service and there are extras which will add to the price. Possibly a lot more than an upfront shop. Foreigners would be a good target for this.

If you know how Office dynamics work in Japanese companies this can be hard since many times you are required to go out drinking with the team until late hours and then be back at the grind the next morning. Much thanks.It's been several years since I've been to the Tokyo soaplands, but from memory here are some ideas. I usually had luck there, despite speaking only a few words of Japanese, as I was dressed in a suit and was willing to walk around and see which doormen encouraged gaijin to enter, and those that did not. The area is the "yoshiwara" (red light district), and if I recall correctly is near the Minowa metro stop. Google it and you can find exact directions, it's about a 10-minute walk from the station. Of course, everywhere in Tokyo is completely safe for gaijin any time of day or night.
Once you find the area, it is several blocks with dozens of the shops. It's easy to just walk by and make eye contact with the doorman, some will even call you over if business is slow. But you can forget about trying to decide based on the talent. The girls are not visible, and the photos they show you (once you are invited in to sit down in the waiting room) are either completely or mostly inaccurate. And it's expensive, on the order of $500 for an hour or 90 minutes with the full soapie experience. Perhaps a bit cheaper now with the weak yen.
I probably punted here eight times over the years, and don't recall ever getting shut out completely.
