Went to Garden of Eden in Shibuya the other morning (around 5-6 AM, I think). Had to do some fancy talking at the door. Kita SenjuI was inspired by a recent post, perhaps by Do Raemon, regarding action around Kita Senju station, and decided to give it a go last week. I first walked on the road that runs parallel to the station/tracks on the southwest side. It is a regular two-lane road, and most of the businesses on it are non-fuzoku related. I found one promising PS, but it didn't open until 1100 and I didn't want to hang around for 45 minutes. I continued walking southward, occasionally looking through gaps in between some buildings and seeing a narrow road just west of the one I was walking on and parallel to it. Again, a variety of shops, and more of the bar variety, but only a few fuzoku all the way to the end, where it terminates at the west entrance to the station. One of the places on this little "street" was open and was very reasonable, so I went back to it. I think the name was "Seven" in katakana or hiragana. About halfway between the station and the main road running east/west that is south of Kita Senju station. Had the sign outside on the "street" with little bulbs around the edges. Prices were great, something like 2000 yen for the morning time. No tout was on the street. I headed up the red, narrow stairs to the shop entrance on the second floor. Just about as I got to the top, a 55ish looking Japanese guy appears on the landing at the top and I can tell just from his "welcome" that I won't be welcome there. I proceed with my spiel anyway, in Japanese, telling him I can speak Japanese and I am gentle, but he points to a handwritten little poster on the landing wall. There is a list, I assume of kinds of people not allowed entrance. I just had time to look in detail at the one he was pointing out, which of course said "gaikokujin" in Japanese and written in English beside it "No foreigners" or "Japanese only" (can't remember which). I didn't feel like doing any more exploring after that, was a particularly hot and humid day, but I did want to tell my friends here about this place so they won't waste their time, if they come to Kita Senju. Might be some other places around there that are gaijin friendly, but this place certainly wasn't.
Tron God,The freebie situation in Tokyo is good if your a gaijin (foreigner).There are certain places in Tokyo where j-girls go to meet gaijin such as roppongi where there are alot of western bars.The key is to dress well and look classy. The problem with Narita is it's basically out in the boondocks. I mean, it's not even in Tokyo, it's in Chiba for crying out loud! Not that Chiba is totally boondocks; that is certainly not the case. But for those of us who live in Japan and know this part of the land, we aren't too keen to seek out fuzoku places in the middle of nowhere when we know we can depend on the old standbys. That's why requests for info on places near Narita usually falls on deaf ears.

Around Narita there is simply nothing. I had to stay at the hotel next to the airport, and no chance to get any action. I took a cab to the major town in Chiba, but nothing. Soaps in Yoshiwara in TokyoSoaps generally have very good service, as almost all of the stories I have heard have been very good. Prices range from about 15K or even less for rock-bottom for 50 minutes, but most establishments start from about 30K for between an hour and ninety minutes of playtime, and from what I have heard, a surcharge for non Japanese. The people I talked to said that only the mid class soaps and high class soaps will accept foreigners, will probably be 60K and up, up from the normal 50K and up for Japanese. The main area for soaps is in the Taito district, and the area is called Yoshiwara. Here is where you?fll have the best selection of providers, and it is closer to Ueno than Shinjuku, where it seems that most mongers who don?ft actually live here in Japan stay for their trips. At Yoshiwara, there?fs a coffee shop that I have been to that contacts the establishments for you, and you choose to partake or not after viewing photos at the coffee shop. This way, there?fs no worries about only being shown pictures of providers who you would rather not be with, before entering the establishments, and can find out beforehand which places accept non Japanese clients. I look and speak Japanese, so I am not refused by any of the establishments, but if you look gaijin, then your best bet will most likely be during mornings or early afternoons, when business is slow, and establishments are hungry for customers. By the way, if you plan to try a Yoshiwara soap, from Shinjuku, take the Yamanote Line directly from Shinjuku to Ueno. Going clockwise, trains are marked as going towards Ikebukuro or Ueno. Then exit the station, and go to the subway tracks, and get on the Hibiya Line going north, towards Kita-Senju, and exit after two stops, at Minowa Station. This is the closest train station to Yoshiwara. If you have a reservation, the establishment will usually provide free transportation to and from it. Most establishments will also provide transportation from Uguisudani Station, which is one of the stops on the Yamanote Line, about two stops before Ueno, if you?fre going in a clockwise direction, which you probably will, if going from ShinjukuTaking a taxi from Uguisudani Station to the soap area will probably cost 1500 yen or so. Beware, I have heard that some taxi drivers are involved in scams that will take you to places that overcharge, and only have old hags, though I believe that most are legit, as none of them has ever tried to take me anywhere else than what I have asked for. Also, avoid touts who offer to take you to the place you are looking for, saying that they run a sister store, or say bad things about where you plan to go. Touts standing directly in front of the establishment they are employed can be trusted for the most part. Going on foot from Minowa, it is about a ten minute walk. Sorry if this is not 100 percent accurate, as I am going by memory, and I last visited 2 months ago. After exiting the station from its only exit, walk across the street, and you will be in front of a convenience store. Turn left when you get to the sidewalk in front of the convenience store. Make sure that you take a 90 degree turn, and not a 135 degree turn onto another street. Walk about 5 to 10 minutes, and I believe you?fll see a fire station on your right. Turn right on this street, and you?fll see the signs for the shops in about a minute or so. Can?ft miss them, as touts are standing in front of the soaps all day. I don?ft remember how to get to the coffee shop, but Yoshiwara is not that big. The name of the coffee shop that makes introductions to the soaps is called ?gApron?h but I doubt that taxi drivers will know about it. Their number is 03-5603-5413, and the couple who run it are very nice. However, they have only introduced me to the 30K plus places, as I doubt they get any commission from any of the other lower priced establishments. One other one is called ?gFriends.?h their number is03-5603-4440, but I don?ft know if they are gaijin friendly. Hope this helps someone out. Soaps can be expensive, but I have had great experiences at these places. Girls are for the most part, good looking and very attentive with good attitudes. Of course, it will depend on where you go, and YMMV with each girl. By the way, anyone have any info on date clubs listed in yahoo Japan? The fees to join them are all pretty high, about 30 to 50K, and then they charge another 15 to 20K for set up fees for dates. And I'm sure that you'll have to pay the girl on top of that. Homer,Wearing a wedding ring in Japan is optional. It used to be especially optional for men, but lately I've noticed more married men wearing them than before, but fewer married women than before! Guess you can chalk it up to gender equality. I stopped wearing mine maybe five years ago or so, not for nampa but simply because my wife had lied do me for a long time about money and that was part of my way to get back at her. Haven't regretted it a bit. She actually tried to throw her ring away some time after that when we had an quiet argument. I retrieved it in front of her, kept it safe somewhere, and sure enough a couple years after that she was begging for it back. I gave it back, but could care less if she wore it or not. The only time I wanted to wear my wedding ring in the last few years was going back to the States to see my mom and sister and friends. But the last time, this summer, I totally forgot to take my ring to the States, and, again, I didn't really regret it. Its a bit out of Tokyo (about 35-40 minutes past Kashiwa on the Joban line), but if you are in the Ibaraki/Chiba area it may be interesting. You head west out of the station and then take a left. Not hard to find. The first street you come to on the left has an arch at the entrance. I had been to Tsuchiura once before to a soap named Banana Boat, but I cannot recommend that. The price would have been right (16,000) but the girl was rather unattractive. The owner claimed to be the only place around that would accept gaijin, but I think now he was selling the goods. This time I was looking for the BJ bars.I found Bokemon, a salon on the far end of the first street you go down that was mentioned in earlier posts from Fishmonger (3/15/2003), but it appeared to be closed. He also recommended a place called Tanuki, where you can sit and party with the girls while fondling their breasts. He assured me that this was quite a fun place, and that many guys he sends there come back and say they had a good time. I decided to seek it out and just take a look. As luck would have it, there was no tout out front when I arrived and the door was open, so I poked my head in. Sure enough, it was a set of about five stalls with people sitting on the floor around tables drinking and feeling up the girls. They seemed to be having a lot of fun. Did another exploration of Tsuchiura. This time, I went to a soap named Prin Prin (which, when I bothered to look it up in the dictionary, turns out to mean custard pudding, custard pudding). Prin Prin was recommended by the fellow at the Night Navi (see my previous post on Tsuchiura on 10/17) as a good soap that would admit foreigners. I decided to proceed despite the obvious discrimination, since there aren?t too many soaps at this reasonable price that come recommended as having nice girls and willing to accept foreigners. I was introduced to Tomo chan, who looked nice enough, but is certainly no knock-out. She led me up to the room, and from then on, the experience was considerably better. Hello! I've been to quite a few hostess clubs throughout Japan. Typically:1) Japanese hostess clubs are used to impress/conduct business. If you are guest of Japanese company, especially trading company, they will likely invite you to this kind of club to 'seal a deal' or woo you further. You don't have to pay if you are invited. If YOU do the inviting, then expect to carry full charges. Usual charges start at 10,000y/hr/person then go up from there.2) Some hostess clubs specialise in more social atmosphere as providing on-site companionship for drinking and karaoke. These are a little different than the general 'hostess bar'. Here is where the bulk of Japanese men spend their time and money. It is usually acceptable for the hostess to consort with the man as it it 'firms' the relationship and keeps him coming to the club where he continues to pay outrageous amounts of money for the companionship. It is an unwritten rule that if he get's to take her shopping and dinner, then he will visit the club. Occassionally there are services rendered beyond companionship (read sex) but it comes at a very heavy cost.3) There are numerous non-japanese clubs that provide a sort of mix of (1) and (2) usually staffed by Filipina or in some cases Chinese women. These are lower cost than the pure Japanese clubs. Usually starting at 5000y/hr/person. After a couple visits to the same clubs expect the staff to call you and invite you back. You might get consort activity with them with the same understanding that you will visit the club on regular basis.4) In ALL cases the women's drinks do not come cheap! Usually between 1500y - 3000y for each drink! And those girls can drink! Also, if you add other activity like karaoke to the service it adds more to the bill. And usually there is a general overall service charge of roughly 20% added to cover things like oshibori (hot towels, snacks, etc). So bare mimimum to get out of a club for 2hours your bill would look something like this: a) Entrance charge 5000y X 2 = 10,000y (includes 2 drinks) b) Ladies drink 2000y X 4 = 8,000y c) Service fee 3500y Total = 21,000Y and you still are a LONG way away from any pussy!5) If you stay in Japan long enough you might get to be buddies with a tout, manager or hawk. In this case you might get free entrance to the smaller clubs and just end up buying ladies drinks. Being a foreigner, but living in Japan, you might get better chance to nampa the girls or negotiate P4P. Especially now that the clubs are suffering compared to the bubble times.The bottom line:1) If you can't speak japanese then don't bother to go to hostess club unless you are invited by your client and it's absolutely necessary. Then if you feel in a very powerful business position tell the person who invited you that you wish company for the evening. They will generally arrange delivery service for you. Though may not be from that club.2) If you have friends that know hostess club staff, then you might have a small chance in some of the 'off ginza' clubs. Especially in the Akasuka or Roppongi area.3) The strip clubs and other clubs you will get touted by in Roppongi are NOT hostess clubs, however have much the same entrance/lady drink system. Your chances may be slightly higher because you can interact with english speaking women who largely dislike the Japanese clients they must serve.4) Given the base cost of any of this, the wise mongerer will do the following: a) Go to Heartland, 911, Motown, etc and enjoy conversing with any of the <free> talent. No luck for nampa? Don't worry - go to step b. b) Stumble back to your hotel and order up a 'delivery health' provider for around 20k. It's less now - especially after midnite, because their business is slacking. Or. c) Hit one of the available Pink Salon which are usually open until midnite. d) Or do the PS first, THEN go clubbing! You won't be soo obviously horndogged and probably have better luck at nampa! e) Find and meet a 'local' Japanese or foreign guy that can show you the best places to hang. Usually this means a previous business associate or someone you meet in a club or bar.5) My personal observation/experience after living in Japan more than 4years: "The best weekend you can have in Tokyo is a week in China" Do your business as required then hop over to Shanghai or Beijing. For a fraction of the cost and much better service you will have the best time of your trip! Do the math: a) RT Ticket to BJ or SH = 50,000 b) 2nites in 5 star hotel = 20,000 c) 8 -10 beauty with you all nite = 10,000/night d) All the food/drink you can manage = 10,000/day Just staying in a hotel in SH is half the cost of hotel in Tokyo!

I've been living in and visiting Japan for almost 20 years now and I've been to my share of hostess clubs (never on my invitation) and I marvel at the amount of money that is spent in order to have attractive girls light your cigarettes and pour your drinks, sing karaoke with you and provide flattering conversation. The majority (if not all) of this activity is funded by company expense accounts as far as I can tell. Certainly, during the bubble years this sort of expenditure was rampant but I've noticed post-bubble that many of those building occupant signs in the Ginza and Akasaka are now blank. I'm not sure what's happened to all of the mamasans who used to run these places but it certainly was fine times for them when the yen was flowing freely.I don't really enjoy this activity very much and find it a burden when asked to participate. I don't think it's the language barrier, either. Some of my Japanese friends and colleagues acknowledge that the whole system sucks and is a huge burden for them, too, yet they are obligated to participate. Perhaps it's my western feminism influenced political correctness or something like that. The girls at these places are very classy and most of them fairly attractive so it's not an entirely negative experience.The point is, there are other fun ways to spend an evening, often just at a bar or beer place shooting the shit and getting blitzed.

Dolphin video box in Shibuya has changed its name to Olive now, and the Special Course has increased to 8000 yen. I was in Machida recently and went to Charade. It is on the 3rd floor of the building behind Jonathan's and Familymart. Probably out of nostalgia, went to Seiki 21 Monday night. Was about to leave after waiting inside for 35 minutes without service, when the first girl turned up. For you guys who monger in the Chiba area, I decided to try out Shin Matusdo tonight. Just had a hunch there was something there from the signs I could see on the train as I passed.Turns out there are a bunch of estees and healths near the station. Well, Shin Matsudo is on the Joban line, but the Joban trains don stop there. If you want Joban, switch at Matsudo to the local (Chiyoda) train and go another 3 stops to Shin Matsudo. Or you can take the Chiyoda subway all the way out there - it doesn't take much longer that way anyway.
Nutshell,To be more precise, if you are trying to go to Valentine, when you walk out of the station (which seemed to me to feed only in one direction) turn left and go down the street close to the station. (I;m not sure if it was the first or second street from the station, but itonly goes for about 2 blocks, so you;ll know quickly if you are on the wrong street). There are some shops along that street. Valentine was the last one on the left - you see the katakana sign almost dead ahead (the street ends there) but you have to go along a path to an entrance toward the rear... almost seems like you are going into a house. But I guess if the local train is in fact a Chiyoda "subway" train, and you then switch to JR at Nishi Nippori, it makes sense. If anyone can shed light on the easiest way to get from Kameari to Tokyo without going all the way to Nishi Nippori, I would appreciate that, too!

Joban originates in Ueno (tracks 9-10 and 11), and stops at Matsudo and then Kashiwa (Shin Matsudo is between them).
... and all I can say is that if you are coming back from a place like Kameari, you will have no choice but to take a local train (I think) and switch at Nishi Nippori to the Yamanote. There must be a better way...If you want to save a little bit of money (ie. pay the fare shown on the board at Kameari station), and avoid the possible line-up at the transfer window at Nishi-Nippori station, just stay on the JR line trains by transferring at Kita-Senju to the Ueno bound train. It's a little confusing the first time with all of the different stairways from the underground platform, but if you make sure to follow the JR/Ueno signs and don't go through any automatic ticket barriers, you'll find it a very simple, short transfer.You're right about paying for the priviledge of riding on the Tokyo Metro subway system for two stops, and then going back to JR. Getting to Roppongi from Shinjuku Ain`t bad it will take less than 15 minutes to Roppongi on the Oedo subway line. You can get the Oedo from Shinjuku Station Make sure to get on the train heading for Yoyogi station. Otherwise you will go the long way round as this line makes a loop around Tokyo. If you are on the West side of the station like at the Washington Hotel or one of the up market hotels like Hyatt, Hilton, or Keio it will take less than 10 minutes to walk over to the station.From the West side of the station the East side, where Hinomaru is located. There are numerous places to go drinking ie hostess bars and the complete range of massage palors and other stuff. Getting over to Shibuya where the 21st Century is located it will take about 10 minutes on the JR Yamanote line. So Shinjuku ain`t bad.Have fun.

Phuquer,Not sure where you hope to score your phuque buddies, but consider staying at Asia Center of Japan, which is about five minutes from Aoyama Ichome station on the Ginza, Hanzomonzon and Oedo lines. You can get a small double room for about $95 a night. Single for about $75.15 minutes on foot to two entertainment areas -- Roppongi and Akasaka. A 10 min ride on the Ginza line to She Blew Ya (Shibuya) and 10 min or so on the Oedo line to Shinjuku.
Someone was mentioning soapland NY NY in Ueno and I just wanted to mention that I`ve been going to Champs D`Elysees, which is NYNY`s sister establishment and attached to NYNY. Much better lot of women including some surfer chicks. Still 9,200 for 50 mins.Can anyone give me some directions to find this place? Thanks to Lumberjack and Stew2 for their PMs giving me solid, detailed info on the love hotel scene around Ikebukuro station. The nampa lady and I ended up going to one on the east side simply because we were in the neighborhood to see a movie and eat lunch after the movie.As Lumberjack told me, there are many hotels around a small park southeast of the station. Prices were great; we got a room for three hours for 3600 yen, though it was small. Toilet was separate from shower and bath room, which is good of course, but the sink was in the bedroom part! Also, there was no low table to chill out at and drink or chat while watching TV between rounds. The name of this hotel was Tiffany, in katakana. We checked in about 1400, and there were lots of 20ish students in the area, possibly university or "semmon gakkou" students. Kind of embarrassing for me, but after we had walked through the area we doubled back and went down the side street by Tiffany when I saw an entrance sign there. I was a little relieved we wouldn't have to walk in from the "main" street in broad daylight. As it was, we ran into a young couple while checking in and another while checking out. I heard the young lady pass us by after we checked out saying, "Bikkurishita!", meaning, "Wow, I was surprised! (to see a foreigner)" Probably a totally different atmosphere at night, though, would be my guess. I imagine the students are mostly commuters.Stew2 told me of hotels on the west side, near a convention center just southwest of the station. I only had one experience at NY NY, but the provider there was older, less friendly, and not as nice looking as the one I like at Champs (Aoyama). Aoyama only works weekdays after 3, and one time I went to Chamos and had another woman. Type A is the most common blood type in Japan.type AB. (Discriminating, proud, or diplomatic.) Type AB are delicate, sensitive individuals who are very considerate of other people's feelings. type B. (Adventurous, outgoing, dynamic, or optimistic.) Type B is supposed to be the opposite of type A. They are curious and fickle, easily excited, but equally as easily bored. type O. (Outgoing, energetic and social.) They are the most flexible of the blood types.You should make note of your provider's blood type before visiting or just in initial conversation. Regardless of what it is (who really cares) make your blood type a compatible one.Basically they really believe opposite attract or repel. And same blood types indicate similarity or empathy. So for example an opposite blood type is best for SM experience and a same blood type might be able to get the anal cherry or difficult FS. If she is an O (quite rare) you better to say you are an O or AB, for example. She will likely be an A, then if it's just standard service , I would choose AB as my type. This is an excellent forum compared to many others, trust me!I'll just add a few things to the directions to Champs.When you exit the main exit at Ueno, go across the street towards the park, then turn left and go until you are going down the long steps to the street below. Keisei Ueno station is hard to see the name but the station has stainless steel on the outside. You have to keep going in that direction across the streets mentioned.Just before you cross the last street before you take the right to enter the entertainment district, you will pass a McDonald's on the near corner (you should be on the right side of the road as you are walking). When you take the right that is the obvious entertainment district, it really is as such. Its not a 90 degree right, more like a 75 or 80 degree right. If you need money or to change money (for those of us from outta town) there is a Mizuho Bank just past this right turn down about two or three doors.As you go down the street, you take the 3rd left, just past a building with a Sphinx on it and very Egyptian looking, called El Giza. Trust me, it stands out.NYNY is easy to see, Champs is just around the corner, same side as NYNY, and you have to get all the way to the door before you see a sign in English that says the name.I was treated very well, with all services explained (they have a small hand held sign in English that gives you the rules). You pay the 4,500 up front and then the 5,000 to the lady in person. I thought it was a total of 9,200, but what is 300 yen among friends, right? I asked for Aoyama, as suggested by Stew2. I think it's there for historical purposes. Most of those places were probably once open to gaijin but the crossed arms went up when too many gaijin showed up after it got listed on that site. Also, some of them may be open to Japanese-speaking gaijin, especially if that gaijin happens to be Asian, however, the management might not covet the extra business because it scares away the core Japanese customer base.That's just my take.

On the advice of Stew2 and others, I decided to venture to JR Sugamo station (north exit). The red district scene is not very large here consisting mostly of this one block that is a block away from the north exit. You basically follow the pachinkos making one right turn. Thanks for the feedback guys. Ambassador, yes I have already suggested to her that we bypass the whole dohan thing but she is new to Japan (6 months) and for the first year most of the Filipina girls are essentially indentured servants to the mama that brough them over. This is what I am being told by her so I don't know 100% if this is true or not. Seems to be true as I know that the Fillipinas who have been here longer are allowed to do whatever they want after around 1 or 2 am. My girl has to work unitl 4 am and is then chaperoned (sp?) home with mama san and the rest of the new girls. Sojourn, I am decent looking and have a good rapport with the ladies. I only go out on slow days. She has brought up the topic of marrying me several times, jokingly of course but one of those half jokes. I have played along with the jokes and have asked her about where will will go on our honeymoon, etc. Also I get along really well with her and genuinely like her and I think the feeling is mutual. She used to work in the Phillipines at a call center for a US company so she can speak English well and seems to like American men much more than Japanese men. 15K...... expensive right! That's the only thing holding me back. And just for clarification the dohan doesn't cost 15K but I am obliged to spend that much at the club when we get back from the dohan. So I guess technically the dohan is free but I am on the hook for 15K at the club. From my understanding of dohan the girl is given around 4000 yen kickback from the dohan money. I am working the hostess and the nampa angles simultaneously. Trying to figure out which one is better for me. I live in Nagoya and work about 70 hours a week so don't have a lot of time to play the nampa game. Again, thanks for the feedback guys. I'll be sure to give a full report after I pull the trigger and go out on the dohan.
Hi 2x4 -- I basically agree with Ambassador. Don't expect homebase on the first dohan - unless maybe you got her on a slow day, you're very attractive and the type of guy she's into, etc,etc... Even then, you have to play these out awhile. But essentially its understood that dohan eventually implies sex.As for the 15k -- hmm for fillipina club? Seems quite expensive! I have had dohan for no payment with them -- why? Because dohan usually means you agree to visit the club afterwards and spend your money there! DOH! Sorry to disagree with you, Alla -- but, really, have you been to Beijing lately? Or, for that matter how come you're so sure they are having 10men a day? And 'country, uneducated' ? The ones I've been with stayed with me for a day or 2 a time (there goes your 10men/day theory) and could speak near perfect english, russian and generally another language. The last one I was with was an electrical engineer and studying post graduate at a University in Beijing.I'm simply pointing out the facts of mongering for foreign women while in Japan (Tokyo). As a consumer conscious monger, its nice to know the choices in other locations! I'm sure your service is wonderful and I've met several of the girls at various clubs, and indeed they are quite erudite and attractive. I enjoy spending alot of time with a woman and find that for this, Beijing (or other Asian areas) offers more selection, value and interest.Jus kidding 3196!
